Between the pranks between Zam and her newfound fiancé Frost, the crowd was in a frenzy. Not only were they hyped up by the elaborate cheating of Duke Satan, but the gruesome injuries to Rine. All four of the participants were contributing to make this one of the best televised sports events to date! Every so often her sponsors pulled the Saiyan hostess aside to whisper the first reactions to their program. While people may be emotionally invested in these games, no one was more so component to the equation than the four brave competitors. Zam rushed towards the artificially heated sand. If one were barefoot it would seem no different than a beach heated by the blazing sun all day. Or sun(s) depending on where you are at the time. Rine and Zam both seemed to be plotting for their first serve. Hell, the way Rine strode out on the sand declared her confidence in the event. Perhaps the azure skinned alien had a past with sports? Based on her body, she seemed physically fit---besides perhaps a bit of bloat in the stomach. "All right folks let's get this game started! Ladies serve when you're ready!" Cassava announced the beginning of the match. After Zam had declared that strategy wasn't their strong suit, she shot gunned the ball towards the boys, hopefully they would be quick enough to stop it from entering their territory. Rine was clearly frustrated with her partners lack of attention to detail. She probably wasn't having the best luck with partners today it seemed. "Whoa, what's this!?" Cassava noted as Duke frantically ran off stage. Earlier he had placed a convenient phone call, and then several rather handsome men in matching attire ran to the field. The seven stood beside Frost, who clearly looked confused by the whole ordeal. "WELL, SEEMS AS IF DUKE HAS SUBSTITUTED HIMSELF FROM THE GAME! WHAT IN TH---" Cassava ramped up the crowd. Some were booing the fact that they were cheating against women, others cheered at the unpredictability of these events with limited rules. The game had begun, and the teams weaved and dove to ensure the balls made their way back over the net. However, with a clear advantage, a team of eight clearly covered more ground that two women, despite their supernatural abilities. Frost fumbled to try and hit the ball, most of the time he was intercepted by one of the team. It all ended though, the first point going to the man as the volleyball bore its way into the warm sand. Cassava cheered, her eyes lighting up as the booze ran rampart through her veins. Perhaps if she hadn't drunk to begin with, these games would have been somewhat fair and normal. Now, she was just going in the direction of what seemed like a funnier destination. "WOW, first point goes to the guys! Come on girls! Really, let's win this next one and see if you can't tie it up! Though, against these eight guys, I worry! Prove them wrong regardless!" Cassava cheered. She could literally feel Creed's eyes boring in the back of her skull as she allowed more of the foul-play. As the first point had been scored, the Satan Seven would breaking into a series of high fives and congratulations. After that, the captain would call for a team huddle that also involved Absolute. "Nice work out there fellas, and props to Bill for scoring the first point of the match! Now all we have to do it play defensive to win, but where's the fun in that? This next round I think we should have Frosty here serve, he is a ki user after all and can hit much harder than any of us blokes." The rest of the team would nod in agreement. Aside from being professionals at the sport, the Satan Seven were just normal humans with no super natural powers to speak of. Going up against two girls who could destroy cities and annihilate civilizations was hardly a fair match up for them. The captain would hand the ball off to colonel Frost, and the rest of the team would assume their previous positions, but with more defensive stances. This time they would be ready for anything. "Frost! Now!"
MEANWHILE: In the arena's bathrooms across the field, Duke Satan would be howling in pain from the intestinal distress caused by Creed's drug. The pain was unimaginable, what did he ever do to deserve this!? On the bright side, medical staff had arrived to help him and had discovered the source of the problem. One doctor even suspected foul play must have been involved. "Why what sort of rapscallion would cheat at such a family friendly event! The nerve!" The Symbol of Peace... One Day
Absolut did not do as well as he initially planned. In the team of eight which he had gotten thrusted into and continued scratching his head at, he was definitely the weakest link - almost always when the ball fell his way, his teammates had to cover for him while the Frost Demon himself had to be content with mostly just standing there and looking pretty. The lack of practice in volleyball was definitely biting him in the worst way possible...
Thankfully, his lack of experience and volleyball skill did not prevent the boys team from scoring the first point, something which the team celebrated for a few seconds before the second round of the match began. This time, the team captain designated him as the serve.
"Wait... Me?!" "Colonel Frost" exclaimed, but did not protest, and as soon as the ball got thrown his way, the young Frost Demon stood in position.
Breath in. Breath out.
This... this isn't so hard. Just... just slap it, hard enough to have it pass over the net, but not far enough that it would go out of bounds... Just... just imagine slapping... uh...
Absolut violently shook his head and opened up with a low serve.

Raw power was no match for refined technique, it seemed. Even Zam’s super ultra mega serve was intercepted and bounced back. Boing, boing, boing, the ball danced back and forth over the net. Somehow she managed to stay out of Rine’s way, while returning some attempts by pure chance. Sometimes aimless flailing worked. The spiel of tactics had already gone in one ear and out the other. Ultimately though the small girl was too slow to keep up with the alien and the boys. Her final slide to catch the ball came juuust a little short. Weakly she flopped against the warm sand. The first point went to the boys.
The little Majin sprang back up to her feet and stuck out her tongue. Bleh. Sand tasted awful. Seeing the scoreboard made her childish pout deepen. Fists flailing she protested. "Oh boo! That’s so not fair!" She was starting to sense cheating afoot! As soon as she figured out who and how, they would get sooo decked! Grumbling something about total meanies under her breath, she got ready to continue. This time Absolut served and she was ready! ...Kind of. The ball hit her square in the face, only ricocheting back by the grace of luck. She flopped backwards, feet up in the air. "I’m okay~!" The spirals swirling in her eyes undermined the claim a little...
Slooowly Zam got back on her feet. The world just wouldn’t stop spinning though. While the chaotic creature tried to regain her bearings and teetered about aimlessly, Rine was left all alone to defend against a full team. Flawless coordination against immense speed and power. The odds were juuust slightly against her. Was there even a chance anymore? Well... Maybe The Sapphire Tornado could make a miracle happen?

It would seem that the Majin intended to ignore Rine once more. After taking an almost slapstick hit to the face and hitting the sand. The majin was right, they outnumbered them by six people. What kind of bull was this? Whoever these “Satan Seven” were- Wait, was that Leon? Leon Mundle of the Kernis High Earthquakes and ARCH ENEMY of Rine throughout her high school volleyball career? Of course Leon would captain such a stupid team AND agree to cheating, he hadn’t changed since high school it would seem! Rine gave a huff before turning to Majin to stumbled around confused. Well, it seems it would be Eight vs One now. Rine wouldn’t win this round, she knew that. But she was going to take Leon out. As the ball flew through the air, Rine would once more hop into the air. She would meet the ball half way and flip through the air. She would strike the ball with the force of a tornado, aimed straight at the head of the Satan Seven’s captain. Given the Captains close proximity to the out of bounds area, it would be likely that the ball would be a foul, even if it struck. Better to end this round now and demand that these fools leave at once than prolong it any longer. Rine would land in the sand next to Zam, helping to steady the girl so she could regain her senses. Luckily the girl seemed to be nearly impervious to serious damage, otherwise that ball could have caused a bad concussion or worse. If the ball was somehow struck back, Rine wouldn’t bother trying to hit it back. Word Count: 277 HnhYk_VE1d100+50Majin Zam Emperor Absolut Android B "Moxie" Queen Kuueru 1d100+50

The vibrant white ball was served once more, this time by the boys. Though Zam and Rine put up quite the effort, it appeared that their teamwork wasn’t on par with the group of eight opposite of them. Surely they felt outnumbered, yet they relied on their strength and Rine’s knowledge to try and persevere. Round two was happening. With a blinding serve from Colonel Frost, the women scrambled to defend. While their efforts kept the ball in play for quite some time, they ultimately were served a volleyball to the sand. The crowd all sighed for the girls, but then cheered for Frost and his team---wherever that last member was. Duke Satan had been gone for the entire match. Either way, Cassava did proclaim that the best two out of three matches would be the winner. With the boys securing their second point, the crowd knew the result was among them. In the third event, Frost and---Duke took the proverbial trophy for this sport. “All right! THAT’S IT FOLKS! With a second point from our boys’ team, they take the win event for beach volleyball!” Cassava cheered, the crowd blaring to life while triumphant music played over the stadium’s speakers. Some patrons had already begun filing out of their seats to fight the wave of people leaving at the end of the festivities. “Now, for awards and honorable mentions!”
Cassava smiled while a man in a suit walked out with a small briefcase. She had ordered the competitors in a line, while they stood the spotlight bore down on their frames. “All right, MVP, this one is going to Colonel Frost! With the most event wins, besides Duke Satan, you win this medal. Congratulations!” The case was opened and a giant platinum medal with the letters ‘MVP’ printed upon it. The Saiyan graciously placed the medal around the small frost demon’s neck. “Now, what about Duke!? He won the same amount right, why’s Frost the MVP?” Another servant with a rather large box came. With a chuckle the woman opened the top of the box to pull out a silver plated dunce cap. Cassava quickly went to adorn the Duke, yet he was nowhere to be found still---was he already off the planet? “Well, Duke won the silver dunce cap of cheating! While it is good for ratings, some people came here to earnestly win! Let’s hear it for those participants!”Finally, she went towards Rine and Smiley with a sheepish grin. Both of the women preformed clean and fairly despite being handed both advantages and disadvantages from Satan’s cheating. Despite this, they weren’t discouraged and kept on working for a win. For that, the woman pulled out two more medals. One was for teamwork, the other labeled most pep. “Rine, your resilience despite the foul play in this, as well as the hits you took, is admirable. Though, what is more radiating is your drive to help the team as a whole get to glory. For that, you win the award for teamwork!”
Cassava moved to Zam, her fingers nimbly adorning her with the pep award. “Zam! You have enamored the crowd with your cute antics and positive attitude. Not only that, but we had the opportunity to explore your engagement to Colonel Frost and give everyone a little pep. For that, you win the superlative for most Peppy!”Cassava cleared her throat, her golden eyes locking onto the nearest camera. “Let’s give a final round of applause to our lovely participants and yourself, the crowd!”
With that, the events were over and the first annual Scarlet Summer Games were a success. At least the games were somewhat successful. The crowd eventually dispersed, as did the participants, alas---they could rest assured that their participation would only help better relations between the major factions and their people. At least---that was Lieutenant Cassava’s aim. TAGS: Emperor Absolut Andrew C. Creed Majin Zam Android B "Moxie" || WC: 648 | 10815
