Night drew over the backwater planet as the various Raven Guard units prepared for their shifts. Another dark night on the swampy, good for nothing planet Krese, their acting Lieutenant thought. After the Dominion dissolved and the Galactic war all but ended with the Peace Accord attacks, he had lost his job in the Dominion military. It was too bad, there was no greater joy than murdering Imperials without any concern of backlash. No, now he was stuck with the “Raven Guard”. They were strict and merciless but it was a job which allowed him to kill for cash. Well, kill for reliable cash. The Saiyan stared out at the swampy flatlands as his unit prepared for the long night ahead of them. The only reason to even have a base on this planet was for the Swamps. If someone was stricken hard enough into the ground, they might drown in the mud. The lieutenant would don his midnight black helmet before activating it’s Night vision. They had better armor than most, the benefits of being a privately funded organization. A message indicator would begin to beep inside of the lieutenant’s helmet. “Yes Sir?” “Be on tight watch tonight. Something tells me our pals from the ‘Chronos Corporation’ aren’t going to take lightly to that information we borrowed. Guard it with your life” The Lieutenant sighed and rolled his eyes. Waste his life on a silly little data pad? He doubted anyone would be even willing to kill for it. Captain Apryot stood with his arms crossed, an annoyed look across his otherwise sneering mug. The man stood at about 5ft 2in, a decent height for his species. His typical attire of a pristine uniform had been replaced with the rags of a roving trader. Of course he had to get the crap assignment of dealing with the help. The Captain had taken up residence on Krese’s second moon. They had established a small outpost on the moon in preparation for an espionage mission against the Raven Guard. Apryot had to tell the buffoons where and how to get it back. In all honesty there was no need to get it back intact, no it could just be destroyed to achieve the same goals. But by forcing them to gather the information their chances of death would be slightly increased. Tying up loose ends, less people to pay, etc etc. Not to mention that any survivors would prove their worth as contacts. It was as much a test as it was a vital mission. There was no need to risk MELON Trooper lives just yet. Apryot stood as the first transport ship found its way to the barren moon. He would shuffled a few maps and pieces of equipment around before making his way to the Outpost’s hanger. The employees had to find their own ways to the given coordinates, yet another test and another reason why they sent out numerous messages. The steel hangerbay would lead into a pristine and sterile steel planning room. Living spaces were also provided, though Apryot was really the only one to use them. As the first of the employees exited their method of transport, the Captain would go down to meet them. “Welcome, glad you were able to make it. I trust you told no one about this mission?” He would barely containing his contempt for these outsiders. Word Count: 563 @cress zarun doctorgrey

He wasn't entirely sure this was a good idea.
Thanks to actually having a paycheck, Zarun could afford armour that didn't have the Imperial seals on it, and it would at least make him look the part. He'd kept things quiet about this, ever since he was contacted. He couldn't risk that someone would hit a panic button and try to send a platoon of Ultramarines in his place; if this data really was sensitive, then he had to act with a sense of caution, and it certainly didn't need someone bringing the hammer down. The black armour and reddish visor on the helmet that covered his face was enough to make him look like a typical mercenary; someone wearing intimidating armour, who might not have a whole lot behind it. He was pretty sure it was cheap stuff, anyway. Not much use.
Sitting aboard the transport ship was an awkward ride - he didn't want to reveal who he was, and even he thought he sounded stupid with how the helmet's vocabulator deepened his voice, so the warrior had kept deathly quiet ever since he climbed aboard. Even then, he could tell that there was something serious going down, even just from not being the only one there. On top of that, there was at least one guy stronger than him. He hardly used himself as the measuring stick, but he understood he was still a relatively dangerous opponent compared to your average soldier.
Stepping down the ramp, Zarun managed to keep a pace and gait that made him look a bit more seasoned than he really was, even if just to try and be slightly more impressive. As he looked down towards Apryot, the helmeted figure gave him a thumbs up, as a way to answer his question. He began adjusting the collar on his rather bulky suit of armour. Maybe it just felt bulky, but it was uncomfortable anyway.
Somehow, he didn't feel like the job he was being given was going to make him any more comfortable.

Another day, another experiment, that's how life is for Dr. Nikolas Grey. As he got the message about a group of Saiyan Dominion supporters who could become a threat to the Galactic Empire he was skeptical at first. But due to the death of Queen Radia who dissolved the Dominion into a Kingdom and the death of the once great Emperor Polaris, whose death was the hardest of all for Dr. Grey to take in, the power vacuums they have created would be all too enticing for battle hungry barbarians to take advantage of. And of course when it comes to craving violence non is as insatiable as the kind of violence Saiyans crave for. Besides, now would be a good time to test one of his new creations. He set on a desk with a headset on and a controller in hand as if he was ready to be playing a video game, but it's not only cause he feels more comfortable controlling his new machine this way it's so that anyone watching him would believe he would just be on break. The video feed went on.
At the secret meeting place some quiet but noticeable metallic clanking is heard, but no source of where the sound is coming from. Then suddenly a machine like figure appears as if he was teleporting in, but it was a actually turning off it's cloaking device. "I am designated as Cloak Commando, I was sent here on the behalf of my creator to assist in this mission and to test my capabilities." it said. In actuality Dr. Grey was talking through and controlling the Cloak Commando all the way from the back of his lab. He wanted to test this android's capabilities out on the field before he would give it artificial intelligence. Word Count: 303 Tags: Andrew C. Creed , @cress , zarun

"Who would we tell, exactly? We don't know much as it is... your pilot was pretty tight-lipped."
Null ground his balled fists into his lower back, utilizing his knuckles to work out the knots and kinks from sitting in the cramped compartment with the other passengers. He took advantage of the awkward position, tilting his head back to take in the view of the structure.
"Nice place you've got here."
It was a vast steel structure, reflective wall plating glistening in the heavy artificial light. The top of the structure was a half dome of transparisteel, giving them a grand view of the cosmos beyond. A myriad of stars and planets, far and near, glittered like motes of sparkling dust swallowed by the inky darkness of outer space.
The quiet hum of generators and other electronic equipment was all to be heard, save for Captain Apryot's echoing tone reverberating through the wide space, and the strange, monotonous tone of the android.
He missed the simplicity of his home already. Wua Lu and the others would be sitting down to supper right about now. He could almost taste the rabbit and grilled leek stew. It made his heart ache to be so far away, and on such a deadly excursion at that.
"No disrespect, but I'm probably the strongest person here." There wasn't a hint of pride or arrogance in his words, just a matter-of-fact tone. "Though you do have a close second..."
His tail swished as it unwound itself from his waist, releasing the scrunched fabric of his orange haori while he appraised the black-armored being. His energy seemed too familiar -- if Null had to guess, it was a Saiyan he'd crossed paths and fists with more recently.
"My point is, captain, if you don't make with the details I'm not sure I have a reason to stay here... too much to lose back home, you know?"
Even now, his unborn child was on his mind. It forced him to approach jobs such as this with far more caution than he would ever have exercised before. This coming from the man who once aggressively insulted a Super Saiyan.

A saiyan? They hired a god damn- no wait, Two Saiyans?! Was the Director going mental? How could they trust these war hungry pests with any sort of mission, let alone one like this one. They were more likely to blow up the planet in a bid of anger over not getting the last slice of pie! Apryot sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose as the group continued onwards. He would follow behind after getting over the shock of this all. The only solace he could get out of all of this was that MAYBE he’d get to watch some Saiyan scum die. As for the last one… A robot sent in place of an actual person? Quite a strange choice, but if the robot turns out effective, perhaps the higher ups would be interested in whoever built it. Apryot knew little to nothing about this group, he wasn’t paid to, he was only meant to give them directions. Guess he’d have to dumb down the briefing now that a bunch of turd flingers entered the fray. Apryot would enter into the small meeting room with his hands behind his back. In the center sat a holographic map of Krese, the swampy wasteland which the group now currently orbited. He found it difficult just trying to be in the same room as those cretins, they smelled like dogs. But he wouldn’t have to deal with them much longer, soon they’d be going down to their deaths. He couldn’t be happier about it. “Gentlemen, It’s good to see you all managed to make your way here. You may be wondering why we have chosen you. The answer is simple, you exist, and you are cheap. Do not expect any power of negotiation on this mission, you are paid to do your jobs. If you refuse, the enemies below will not be the only threat you will need to worry about. Now that is out of the way,”
With a quick snap the Holographic map would erupt into a large 3d model of the base which the group would be assaulting this day. The building was designed to defend against bunker busters, with three small entrances on the North, West, and East sides. The building itself was in the shape of a square. “You all know the basics of this mission, and I won’t get into too many details. Might hurt some of your heads… Get the Data pad from the base commander, one Captain Leekle. This organization is made up of highly trained Saiyan soldiers, they will kill you if they perceive you as a threat. Hell, they might just kill you either way. The Captain can be found within the center of the base in his Command Center. He will be accompanied by the Raven Guard’s best”
Apryot would snap again, causing the map to zoom out. “A few things you should know so you don’t attempt them. Blasting through these walls will not work. Even if you get through one, expect the entire damned base on your ass a few minutes later. Digging under will not work, you will drown in the mud. Also, try not to stand too long on the surface. Other than, the floor is open to any suggestions. If you have any questions, ask them now, otherwise get to planning. The stealth shuttle to the surface will be leaving in around an hour. We also have drinks and food if any of you need anything. I know how disgustingly hungry Saiyans can get” With that final snide remark, Apryot would stand aside and wait for the group to start planning. Word Count: 600 @cress zarun doctorgrey

Really, Zarun hadn't even been thinking about the money. It would be nice, sure, but he was more interested in keeping things stable in the galaxy for the time being. Whether it was totally true or not, he understood that a group like this might strike at Empires without their leaders or other groups they perceived as weak; they were a threat either way. To stability, the Empire, whatever it might've been. It wasn't entirely altruistic, either. Zarun hadn't tested his abilities for a while now, and he didn't want to get rusty by sparring with imperial grunts forever. He enjoyed battle, and had to regularly see how he stood up in it if he wanted to get better.
Glancing over as he realised he was being talked about, the Saiyan finally realised who the strongest guy here was. It was not only another Saiyan, but one he recognised. Null, the warrior from Katchin. Well, that made things a lot easier. Not that he didn't appreciate the robot companion they now had, but Zarun didn't really know who that was, or who was controlling it. It didn't look like an Android, like the doctor he'd encountered on Earth. More of just an automaton that was following instructions. Interesting. Zarun reached up, unsealing his helmet once the actual explanation was over. "Hey, Null."
Holding the helmet under his arm, he gave a small smile to the other Saiyan, before glancing over to the robot, patting it on the shoulder. "Nice to meet you too, Cloak." He had gone and given away his fellow's name, so he supposed it was only fair to put his own out in the open, too. "Zarun, by the way."
The younger Saiyan rubbed his chin for a moment, glancing between his two new companions. "If we can get our hands on a couple uniforms, me and Null could probably get in pretty close. Cloak here could stay hidden and scan for energy maybe, help us avoid some of the patrols for when we get close! I...don't know if you're that kind of robot, but you could get into the security systems too, maybe. Building that fortified must have blast doors that can be opened and close to cut off corridors, things like that."
Zarun didn't consider whether it was strange to hear a plan like that with minimal conflict from a Saiyan, especially from one that tended to be young and impulsive. The crash course he'd gotten in his officer's training had done wonders for him already, it seemed. Whatever the case, he started to get his things, and get ready to move to the stealth shuttle. He was sure the others would have suggestions, too.

"While I cannot speak on the half of these two others hired to fight, I am the most well equipped for this mission. My creator has built me with a cloaking device that hides my prescience. Plus due to being inorganic, my lack of Ki shall prevent them from detecting me on their scouters or Ki sensing ability." Cloak Commando said. He then demonstrated this ability by disappearing again as of he changed color to blend in perfectly with the environment like a chameleon. Suddenly overhead a knock is heard. The robotic commando deactivates his cloak to reveal he is sticking to the ceiling as if he was some king of frog, lizard, or even a spider. He then jumped down gracefully like an acrobat. "My hands and feet have built in nano suction cups which allow me to stick on any surface and climb on them. I am equipped a jetpack in case of midair combat or if my target tries to escape. And I am built with the data of multiple manners of close quarter combat. I am built to be strong enough to handle these opponents, including great precision." the android said. He then picked up three pens from a cup and then flung them into a wall with great accuracy and speed. All the three sticking into the wall like darts.
"I can be able to infiltrate the base and sneak inside to turn off the security systems to allow you two to enter more cautiously if that is the most necessary course of action, but if you two get caught before hand I won't be coming to save you and instead focus on grabbing the important data that you require us to obtain Apryot. I shall get this mission done no matter what." Cloak Commando said.
Dr. Grey is starting have too much fun pretending to be a boastful robot ninja, but then again since he would be collecting battle data soon he can't help but be excited.

"Both of you make a good point."
Null stepped closer to the holographic model of the enemy base.
"Captain, may I?" He didn't wait for a reply. A flick of his hand spun the model one hundred eighty degrees. Null gestured to the North entrance. "Seems this would be the most difficult to enter by, as it's clearly the main gate."
He pointed at the turrets mounted atop the walls. "Automated, if I'm willing to bet. I've seen these before -- they tend not to miss."
He gestured toward the East entrance next.
"Not much activity here, but the marsh seems denser. I don't fancy getting stuck even for the sake of more natural cover."
All that left was the West entrance.
"I'm not seeing any turrets, and there's decent cover, so we shouldn't be spotted easily. I'm sure Zarun and I can deal with any patrols we encounter, snag their uniforms, and once our buddy Cloak gets inside and deactivates their defenses, it's only a matter of staying hidden while making our way to the center of the base. Sound good, Captain?"
He pandered to Aprycot, not because he feared or respected the man. It was the simple fact that if things went south, Captain Aprycot would be their only means of salvation as an ally on the outside. If he sent them aide, of course.
"This plan presents a problem though -- how will we know when Cloak's disabled the security systems? We'll need some sort of signal." He frowned, folding his arms and rubbing idly at his chin, his tail flicking absently behind him. "It's too bad the android doesn't have ki I can sense... I could teleport us right in there, otherwise."

Dear god, the Saiyans were learning. This was… unexpected. Perhaps they wouldn’t succumb to the forces below. The robot seemed a bit showy, nothing too impressive. Cloaking drones have been made previously by his organization, but AIs were found to be a bit too short sighted. MELON Troopers always planned five steps ahead during a mission. AI were restricted to orders. At least normal ones were, learning AI were much too dangerous to employ. Apryot would lean in as the Saiyan moved a hand closer to the map. “Don’t- Hey, wait, you’re going to break it-” Apryot would sit back and sigh as the Saiyan continued his explanation. He better not get his grubby paws on the projector… Apryot would snap as the Saiyan finished his explanation. A diagram of the Raven Guard’s armor would appear in place of the map. “We’ve considered this course of action as well. The Raven Guard armor is designed to disperse Ki blasts to help keep the user alive when struck by a much stronger opponent. To do this the suits had to be perfectly form fitted to the user” He would sit back and think for a bit. “Saiyans tend to be similar in features, so you two should be able to wear the suits fairly well… They have patrols on the outside of the bases, if you want my two cents I’d suggest trying to lure the patrol away. Of course killing an entire squad and returning as two could be a bit suspect. As for the whole signalling thing, I don’t know. Figure it out yourselves” Apryot would look over at a clock. The time couldn’t fly quick enough, he just wanted to go back to HQ and get a drink. “We don’t know what sort of security systems they have, but they’re probably advanced. Raven Guard gets quite a lot of funding from somewhere. If you can get past those turrets, Robot, we don’t know what you’d have to contend with on the inside” Word Count: 334 @cress doctorgrey zarun Raven Guard Armor

Did he just say all Saiyans looked the same? Zarun was positive that was what he just said.
Whatever the case, he liked the sound of Null's plan. Still, it wasn't like it didn't require a little bit of luck. Whatever the case, maybe they'd get out of this without even needing to worry about fighting at all. "Sounds good to me. We can wait to see if any of them decide to patrol in pairs, or at least just get back and finish up quick enough that the discrepancy in numbers isn't noticed. Cloak can probably get a better read on the base itself during then, and stick close so we don't lose each other. This armour probably has in-built radios, so we could tune him in on the frequency so we don't lose each other, maybe?"
Zarun scratched his face, trying to figure out the best way to handle this. Man, he really had changed. Not so long ago his plan would have been to rush in and land his fist into everything he saw. Which, regardless of how he actually carried things out, was still what he wanted to do. He just understood now that wanting to do something wasn't exactly a good enough reason for doing it. That, and his own impulses tended to get him into more trouble than they were worth these days. His battle lust aside, he was starting to feel like someone who could actually plan out a battle plan or two. "We'll know more once we're actually there, so we shouldn't waste time. If they knwo this thing's important, they'll want to move it pretty fast."
The young Saiyan kept the helmet on his armour underneath his arm, walking off from the briefing and assuming the others would follow once they were ready to go. He headed up onto the stealth shuttle, sealing his helmet back on as he found somewhere else for him to wait, trying to prepare for something he'd have to handle with precision, for once. "You know, I don't even remember why I brought this armour. It's kind of cheap, probably doesn't even work." Well, he knew it was cheap and didn't work. He did remember the reason, too. It was just a bit embarrassing to admit that he'd assumed nobody would know him, only for someone that knew him to turn up. It wasn't like he needed to know. Or anyone. He just wanted to get on with the task at hand.

It was obvious from just Apryot's Bio-scan and the way he speaks about Saiyans that he is definitely racist towards them. Well Polaris hated Saiyans definitely and used them as a scapegoat and paint them as the enemy so he could declare war on them, but there was a method to his madness. It seems this man wants this Saiyans taken care of just because he hates Saiyans. And he doesn't seem to enjoy the fact that two Saiyans happened to answer the call to take care of this Saiyan problem they have. Come to think of it Dr. Grey is confused too as to why these two Saiyans even answered the call. Perhaps they view these guys as traitors to the Saiyan Kingdom or they are against it. Whatever their reasons for joining in Dr. Grey can at least be glad that his android won't be going in alone. "The turrets probably have a manual override in the security room in case of malfunction, my signal would be when the turrets turn off. Then the rest can go inside after they have attained some uniforms from the Saiyans patrolling outside and head for the center with me." Cloak Cammando said. Whatever is on that data pad must be very important, I should download the data into this robot when I have the chance. Dr. Grey thought. Word Count: 227 Andrew C. Creed , @cress , zarun

"So, then, it's settled. We'll ambush a small patrol, commandeer their uniforms, then wait outside the western entrance to the enemy base. Once those turrets go down, we head inside and find this data pad."
It sounded simple enough. But Null had participated in enough of these missions to understand things rarely went according to plan. A part of him didn't trust Captain Apryot. He seemed as eager to be rid of them as he was for them to retrieve the data pad.
I wonder what's on it...
He decided, if he got the chance, to take a look. He didn't fancy being used as a disposable pawn to retrieve information that would work toward the detriment of himself and others. Null also didn't fancy being wielded as a weapon against other Saiyans. Saiyans were no chisel -- but a hammer. Blunt, forward, and obvious in their goals and plans.
But other species were full of cunning and deceit. It was far more difficult to decipher their deeper thoughts.
"At any rate, the sooner we get started, the better." He followed Zarun onto the ship. The two hadn't gotten a chance to speak privately, and Null wanted to share his doubts with the other Saiyan the moment he got the chance.
Some time later...
As Null and the others slipped silently from the cargo hold of the transport ship, he found Captain Apryot had grossly ill-informed them of the hazardous marsh.
Mold-colored bubbles rose from pits of bubbling marsh, erupting with an audible 'pop' and releasing sulfurous gases into the air. He buried his nose in the crook of his arm, struggling to free his geta sandals from the murk he'd landed in.
Through the dense thicket of trees and knotted roots, they could make out the enemy structure half a kilometer ahead of them. Spotlights swept the area, and groups of patrols stalked the grounds, energy rifles held in their hands. The ominous turrets whirred about, rotating each direction every few minutes.
It was a veritable fortress.
"Let's get this over with as soon as possible. I don't like the look of this place..."

Apryot would stand as the Saiyans finalized their plans. Compared to the Saiyans, he was tiny, only around 5ft. No wonder they had so many issues in the past with them. It’s interesting how they now pitted the race against each other. Now who’s the winner you dirty apes… “If you are all finished, I’d suggest leaving soon. The Raven guard can be quite difficult to spot in the darkness” As the group left, Apryot would shut down the map, pressing a small button on his jacket. “Everything has been recorded. Prepare for data extraction”
Lieutenant Korrat stared out at the darkness, even with the Night vision it was difficult to cut through the swampy veil. Of course no one really cared about visuals. The men were just secondary for sighting, that's what the sensors were for. No, they were here to kill if needed. God he hoped it was needed. Ever since their skirmishes with those Ultra Marines on Mitra, he and his men had wanted nothing but blood. They served him well during the war, he just missed when all this rank and file shit didn’t matter. Now they were stuck here guarding some Captain and his information worth dying for. “Hey boss, we got some readings, slight atmospheric changes or something like that” Spinic said tiredly as he stepped onto the viewing platform. “They want someone to go check it out” “They want to send a patrol out there because of a damn Atmospheric change?” “Yeah, it’s stupid. But at least we can stretch our legs. Maybe tag a few birds while we’re at it” Korrat sighed and loaded his energy rifle. They were an interesting design, apparently based off something they stole from the Chronos Organization. They were Ki powered so they didn’t need reloading either. Korrat would hop off the platform to his seven squadmates. They wouldn’t need a full squad for this, so he’d just grab a couple of men. “Alright boys, we got our orders. Spinic, Borage, and Yarow, you’re with me. The rest of you go pass the time. And don’t get into anymore fights, I don’t want to fill out anymore complaint papers cause you numbskulls couldn’t decide who gets the last piece of pie” The swampy grounds were not somewhere you’d want to stand too long. The sink spots were indistinguishable from normal patches of ground. Not to mention the stench that emanated from the gas deposits. Smelled like rancid death, thankfully they had helmets to filter it out. The fireteam of four scanned over the suspected area. Usually when a ship landed it would disrupt the atmosphere in some sort of noticeable way. No landings were supposed to land today, so either a few meteors hit the atmosphere, or an unauthorized landing occurred. If they were hostile, then they had a shitty cloaking system. The group would pick through various pieces of brush whilst hovering just above the ground. Borage would fire a few shots into a bush, causing a flock of wildlife to fly into the air. “Fucking hifl, I hate those things” He’d mutter before firing a few more shots at them, nailing one. The creature popped into a bloody mist, showering the ground below. “If anyone was unlucky or stupid enough to land here, come out now. We’ll be kind. Unless we have to find you ourselves, in that case you end up like the bird” “You have such a way with words Bortard” Spinic would state snidely “At least I can come up with insults, Sphincter” Yarow would snicker slightly at the remark. “Alright ladies, lets calm ourselves before a cat fight breaks out. I’m not seeing anything so far. I think it was just a dud. I’ll give it five minutes before packing up” Word Count: 630 @cress zarun doctorgreyI need each of you to roll a Stealth check. 1d100. Cloak Commando saluted the officer and said "I can assure you that the probability of failure is low." before leaving to get inside the stealth pod that would take them near the base.
So now it was the time for the test to start, they have arrived in the stealth pod. Cloak Commando flexed it's body parts as if it was flexing it's muscle despite being a robot. Or maybe it was loosening it's gears to help be able to move better. After all it is built for acrobatic feats and climbing skills. It would need everything it has at it's disposal to be able to make this mission complete. It then turned to the two Saiyans who have arrived with it.
"Mission shall be commenced, carefully find and defeat any patrol you can find in this area, I shall proceed to the base." it says quietly.
And just like that it's gone, completely cloaked. Cloak Commando then grabs onto the trunk of a large tree and climbs up, and jumps onto the trunk of another one. It begins moving through the trees like some kind of invisible lemur. It then sets itself on a large branch and then looks down to see a few Saiyan soldiers patrolling. It begins making a scan of the armor and guns they have. Seems to be very advanced for some Saiyans to be carrying around. Dr. Grey ponders who made them those guns or if they took those guns from someone else.
He can't sit and ponder on that now, with a series of inputs on his controller Dr. Grey has Cloak Commando long jump towards the next tree and gracefully land and stick to it and climbs onto the other side. And then proceeds to jump onto another tree. It proceeds to keep doing this to get closer towards the base.

Thankfully, the trip was rather short. Zarun was antsy the whole way, whether or not battle was involved. He just wanted all of this over and done with if he could - he thought it seemed important, and it likely still was, but that was the main reason he couldn't be sitting around, waiting. Who knew what these guys were up to? In the back of his mind, he almost wondered if he was some kind of traitor, but this was where he'd been heading since the start. Saiyans did not respect allies they had little reason to - he would be worthy of their attention in the best way he knew. He would be an enemy, a worthy one, and maybe after that is when he could be considered something close to a Saiyan warrior. Besides, the war had lulled, and these guys weren't Dominion. Or, Kingdom. Whatever.
The young Saiyan kept himself low and tried to make sure he was as small of a target as possible, sticking to the thick brush within the marshlands, and avoiding the actual marsh and swampland where he could. Not only because it was disgusting to walk in and would definitely stain his armour for years to come. He didn't want to slow hmself down, and if he did get spotted, it would leave him more obviously in the open.
Zarun motioned for Null to move with him as Cloak moved closer to the base, having seen something that caught his eye. A patrol. He motioned to them for Null's convenience, pointing out that it was a group of four. It was unlikely they could take two out and get back. Even if they weren't noticed somehow, they were likely to be recognised by voice as much as anything else, by the rest of the small group. No, it looked like they'd have to take out the whole group once they were far enough from any reinforcements. If they could put them down fast, that would make this whole infiltration business a lot easier. He glanced to Null, whispering quietly.
"You ready?"

"As ready as I'm going to be."
He ducked low in the thickets next to Zarun. His hands peeled away some of the brush to see the approaching patrol that Zarun had gestured to. High above, some of the branches hardly bent beneath the android's graceful advancement.
"I don't think Cloak is going to have any issues getting inside." A slight smirk touched his lips, sparing a glance at his Saiyan ally. "And I'm sure it goes without saying -- we've only got one real shot at this. Hang tight, and when I give the signal, we strike. Oh, and no killing, alright?"
He dipped away into the shadows and disappeared.
The smooth bark of the trees made them difficult to scale. They were coated in a slick moss which smelled as gross as it looked. Null perched in the thick canopy of branches and vines overhead, his face one of disgust as he wiped his hands on his haori.
He'd managed to move undetected thus far, and found himself directly overhead the patrol.
They were too busy arguing with one another to notice his presence, but he had his power suppressed to a minimum to avoid whatever sensing equipment they might have. Null especially kept an eye on the trigger happy one, who just moments before, was making sport of some of the local wildlife.
Killing for the sake of killing. Such disgusting behavior.
Taking a deep breath, offering a silent prayer that it would work, Null held out his hand and concentrated. A small spark of white formed in his palm, and with but a moment's hesitation, he dropped it.
It floated down into the midst of the arguing soldiers... and exploded in a flash of strobing, pulsing light -- in effect, designed to startle and blind the patrolmen. Hearing their startled cries, Null dropped from the branches onto the group. He planted a stiff elbow on top of Borage's head, using his fall as momentum to take the soldier down in one fell swoop.
An upward palm thrust into Spinic's chin would hopefully plant the man on the floor, leaving the others for Zarun to dispatch.
They didn't seem to be very strong, so Null hoped his use of non-lethal force would be enough to subdue them.
Stealth Check, 1-75%: vIe|H_J41d100 passed!

“Well, I think we’ve- GET DOWN” As the flash went off, Korrat and Yarow dove to the ground, hands over their heads. Borage’s helmet would crack slightly at the impact of Null’s strike. The Saiyan fell to one knee, dazed but still conscious. Spinic wasn’t able to manage a block before receiving and upward palm strike, the helmet taking the brunt of the impact. He would flip through the air a few times before landing with a wet thud in the marshy land. Luckily there had been a branch not too far away which he grabbed onto. His legs were partially sunken into the mud. “Borage, Spinic, Status?” “Just give me a few seconds…” Borage would state, still trying to recover from his daze. “Yeah, me too. This fucking mud!” Korrat would turn to Yarow and nod before turning to face the Saiyan who just attacked them. Both would lower their rifles to Null before opening fire. The Ki blasts from the rifles lit up the area with bright blue flashes. “You picked the wrong Saiyans to mess with!” Korrat would shout whilst continuing his barrage. “Yarow, prepare a flash! Give this asshat some of his own medicine!” Yarow would cease fire and pull a Flashbang from his belt, throwing it at the attacking Saiyan. Yarow would then engulf himself with a bright yellow energy before returning his aim back to Null. Korrat would hop upwards with a blue aura surrounding his hand whilst still firing. A bright Blue beam would fire towards Null. It froze the surrounding humid air as it continued forwards, causing snow to fall from under the beam. “Eat it bitch!”BATTLE INFO - Lieutenant Korrat DEFENSE PHASE.

Shit.
He hadn't been able to get a read on the power levels of the fireteam when they'd first began to approach, and he only did get that proper reading once Null had already gone in, and was already right in the fire. Great. From what he could tell, the two men who were up and fighting were at least twice his own strength. No, more than twice. Well, at least he'd be able to say that he went up against strong opponents, whether he did live or die as a result of it. What was his plan? He had to think of a plan.
They didn't seem all that coordinated, or experienced. At least, by the standards of Saiyan warriors, or the ones in Zarun's head that he bigged up, anyway. They did seem to have a leader, though. The one who was barking orders, most likely a Lieutenant given the unit structure, if it was anything similar to the Empire's own. Maybe he should've brought his own team, huh? Whatever.
Zarun decided to get some attention. Steadying his feet, the young Saiyan began to charge up his power, having to hunch over slightly as the Ki swelled up within him, his entire body tensing to prevent him from twisting and spasming as a result. Hold it. Remember your discipline. The visor on his helmet cracked, barely holding as it was, the headpiece probably the weakest part of the entire suit. Eventually, Zarun reared back, exploding with power. It wasn't higher than the members of the squad, but it was a significant increase from before. Enough to close the gap, and to get their attention.
With that, he charged forward, rushing right for the Lieutenant. He focused on projecting his thoughts, practicing the telepathy he'd already used with his own commander. Null. Focus on the leader. Take him out, and the others might scatter. Can pick them off then. That, and his movements indicated his skill, as opposed to the others. Zarun knew he had to rely on his own fighting experience.
Closing the gap and still rushing through the air, Zarun felt his energy channels widen, his battle-lust suddenly spiking up. He had a sudden desire to rush and tear, to do all the damage he could. He aimed a powerful kick for the Lieutenant's chest, trying to send him flying further into the marshlands and farther from his home base. Whether or not he connected, the Saiyan seemed to disappear and re-appear behind the officer, attempting to lean back and kick him with both legs into the air. After that, he hoped to follow up by once again materialising, this time above and swinging his hands down like a sledgehammer into the Lieutenant's cranium.
That should rattle him a bit.

Cloak Commando turned his attention to the patrol he seen earlier. It seems his comrades have engaged them, he shouldn't interfere and let them think there is only a few of them for now. As this robot was built more for stealth and combat and from the readings he is getting from here Null seems to be much stronger then this unit. So Dr. Grey commands the robot to continue it's trek towards the base. The buzzing of several strange alien insects fills the air, and the croaking of bizarre amphibious beasts that dwell in the swamp. Thankfully this robot is unable to smell, cause if he did it would be best described as a moldy toe jam covered peeled onion in a house made of wet fur. After scaling the trees for a while, the cube esque base was in sight, Cloak Commando then carefully climbed down the tree to grown level hiding inside some bushes. There were multiple guards stationed on the top of the walls as if they were guarding a prison. They wouldn't be able to see him cause of his cloaking device, but just in case he needs to stay out of their eyesight if they have any heat sensing visors. He then saw the door in question with several turrets above it, and what seemed to be a wall terminal that allows entry next to the door. He could hack into it, but then he spot another point of entry, a man pushing a hover dollie with several crates stacked onto it. If he's taking them into a storage area of the building then Dr. Grey has found a point of entry. Cloak Commando crawls along the ground stealthily and gets underneath the hover dollie and sticks to the bottom while it's moving. Clinging onto the moving cart, the unsuspecting man pushing the cart should be unaware that there is an invisible stowaway on the bottom of his trolley. That is, if he doesn't notice the fact that's suddenly a bit heavier. Word Count: 338 Tags: Andrew C. Creed , zarun , @cress ngqeiSMT1d100 (75% chance to succeed) 1d100

Cut the head from a snake, and the body would wither away.
Null had fought on many squads before. The same sentiment held true. If they were to have any chance of surviving this skirmish and not alerting the entire base of their presence in the marshes, they would need to deal with this.
No margin for error.
He weaved effortless between the bolts of gunfire. They zipped past his head and body in a barrage of ammo that looked dangerously similar to ki. These were not conventional weapons. One barely zinged his shoulder -- perhaps a result of becoming distracted while observing the manner of weapon in which these soldiers wielded.
He winced at the sharp sting of frigid cold that punctuated his shoulder. On instinct, his aura pushed out, coating his entire body in a dim red glow. It warded off the effects of the shot, a particular technique he'd developed training against the Ice Demon (Queen Kuueru) herself. But it was an incomplete technique, and required too much energy.
He could not take too many of those blasts, direct or indirect.
Following Zarun's lead, Null sprinted past Yarrow and leaped into the air. Drawing his chokuto from its scabbard at his waist, Null exhaled a plume of black, demonic energy that coated the blade of his weapon. Sparks danced along its edge, electrifying the sword. If it landed, it would help to render the lieutenant incapacitated.
Just as Zarun attempted to land a crushing sledgehammer blow to Korrat's skull, Null swung his blade in two vicious arcs, dragging its sharp end along the lieutenant's chest and abdomen.
That would hurt like hell.
If Zarun would be the hammer, Null would be the chisel.
