The palace in Pukinpa had finally be rebuilt. Some of the best masons on the planet aided by bots and technology had made it so that in only several months, the palace had been restored not to its former glory, but beyond. What they couldn't solve though, was the view. Even from the highest balcony on the palace, the monolithic tree of might continued to eek out a meager existence, one that had plagued the planet since ancient times now. While it had proven to make his people more resilient than ever it was an eventual death sentence for his planet and everyone knew it. Some had tried to chop it down, some blow it up, but the reality of it was that it simply couldn't be done without harming the planet with these conventional methods, which is why Cam now turned to the unconventional. It was the last roadblock to a prosperous beginning for Kabocha, he had set out across the galaxy to several planets, Earth, Root, Brench, Radia, taking samples of the planets that lived in those impossibly harsh climates and germinating them, he had multiple farm's worth of plants ready to go, but planting them now would simply mean that the tree of might would drain them of any life. It all came back to something that had been the longest persisting thorn in the side of Kabocha and its people. Everything he had promised Meiku he delivered: a suitable laboratory had been set up within the capital city in exchange for her stealth technology, Meiku had been given a number to call should she need any supplies for what she would invent, as well as a staff of five others, two engineers, a fluid scientist, a botanist who had been studying the tree for some time and her intern. Cam knew throwing money at this problem wouldn't solve it, he could attempt to brute force the situation but truly what would that do, other than serve to harm the planet? No, he was putting his utmost faith in the human... Engineer? Scientist? Wizard? Perhaps all of the above, but whatever Meiku was, whichever title she chose, Cam knew her to be remarkably resourceful and that was why she was a part of the Crusher Corp. He had given her about a month on and off to work as she pleased, today was the first to the Emperor made his way to Meiku's lab set up to check in and see just what kind of progress she had made, a motorcade pulling up outside the building, Cam proceeded to enter, a retinue of soldiers and staff with him. "Meiku," Cam would offer in greetings when he was eventually escorted into the lab by a stuttering, dumbstruck intern, "How are things progressing?" His tone suggested he was hopeful though Cam was cautiously optimistic. Many had tried and failed to solve Kabocha biggest problem.

A mind was something precious. Something that could push the boundaries of reality and pull man into a future that was worry-free. All that man had done with science had mostly bettered the world. That was also Meiku’s goals.
She had tireless been researching not only the species of the Tree of Might, but also the effects of it on a planet. She monitored the vital signs of Kabocha extensively once Cam had given her the go ahead. With a clear goal in mind, the woman had never been so motivated to make her dreams a reality.
Today however, she would have to present her work to Cam. She couldn’t lie and say she wasn’t nervous and eager to please the man. After all, he had been nothing but gracious with his time, supplies, and even his comradery. He even brought her to such diplomatic affairs with the Saiyan Dominion, which lead to a recent proposal towards the Kabochan leader. Meiku felt her cheeks fluster as she thought about Colla and the man’s interactions and how ‘old-school’ the arrangement felt.
The hissing of the laboratory doors brought the Earthling back to reality. She quickly turned her attention towards the arrival of both the Emperor and her lackluster intern. She had grown close to the woman, thought she was a bit mousey at times. A wide grin pressed on Meiku’s lips as she shot the man a friendly wave and welcomed him into the laboratory that he personally funded.
“Ahh, Cam! It’s so good to see you,” Truthfully, besides their last excursion the woman had hardly left the lab. Just hours before she rushed to clean up the mess of take-out containers and empty energy drink cans that littered her lab. She was working around the clock, her aim to make the man’s dreams a reality. In truth however, the group had made quite the progress. So far, using samples of the tree they had found a way to break it down at an atomic level and slow it’s regeneration abilities.
Meiku’s aim was to use this while uprooting the beast and transferring it to an offsite plot. This plot would control the growth of the tree, but also feed it enough nutrients to make it’s fruit production relevant again. For too long have rotten and useless fruit been released from the dying tree.
“So glad you could take the time to visit! I can’t wait to talk to you about my progress.” It all seemed so formal. Since taking over as an employee under Cam, she felt it weird to treat the man as a friend, though she was sure that was what he preferred---maybe.
The woman tugged at the stripped dress that hugged her body before attempted to tuck a stray hair behind her ear. She had to at least appear presentable with a meeting with the Emperor. Perhaps the woman was overthinking things. Afterall, they both indulged in space absinthe months earlier.
She waved the man towards a meeting room she had set up. Here was a moderate sized table with about 10 chairs in which her entire team sat. She motioned for the man to sit as she took her place before a projector screen at the front of the room. She had prepared a few notes to highlight the main points of her ideas before she revealed her physical advancements to Cam. Cam WC: 566

The Emperor took a seat, though a smile seemed evident on his face, "In truth I've been... Well, I don't want to say anxious, but I've been anticipating seeing your work. I don't expect a solution today, or tomorrow or even a month from now, we're dealing with a complex situation, but I'm sure you all know that better than I do. Far as I'm concerned you're all the ones doing the real work and deserve the credit," indeed that was why so many had flocked to the Crusher Corp. Despite being of dubious repute in the past it seemed that Cam was trying to take it in a different direction, one that seemed to be benefiting everyone who was a part of it. "When this is all over, perhaps we can go out for lunch? It's been ages since I actually got some proper food from my home world, everything here in the capital is very homogenized." And that was true of most major cities with a spaceport. Earth food and culture and seeped into nearly every planet system, and while the cuisine was to die for, it didn't taste like home, "But, lets keep focused on the task at hand first. I'm eager to see what you have Meiku." It was then one of the staff members sat down beside the Emperor, "Can I get a selfie?" Cam grinned, "Sure, but on one condition, we use a sunglasses filter," his request met when he saw the image of himself and the woman beside him both wearing fake sunglasses. Cam threw up the V for victory or peace sign, the picture being snapped before he leaned back into his chair. He supposed here on his home world he was something of a cult of personality. A herald to a new beginning, one that he wagered almost no one on his planet knew they needed as a species, but his rule signaled a change in things. Already a set of proclamations and decrees the Emperor had passed made the planet as a whole more free and safe, and really, wasn't that what everyone wanted? To be able to indulge, or not, to their heart's content? So long as they weren't hurting anyone, things would only get better on Kabocha, and Meiku and her staff had become an integral part of it, "Lets hear your solution to the Tree of Might problem Meiku. You have my rapt attention."

Meiku felt her face fluster more as the man lamented his excitement about seeing her progress. While she felt that her and her team were on the cusps of some major breakthroughs, any effort they put towards his project wasn’t going to hurt the planet any further.
Kabocha was still standing, but for long much longer?
“Ahh, I’m flattered then Cam. Hopefully the hard work we have all been putting in around the clock will impress you then,” Meiku found herself nervously laughing now before she dimmed the lights in the room and took a seat beside of the emperor on the other side of his ‘fan’. She half wanted to ruin their photo op with the horrible lighting, however with the current technologies of mobile devices you could take a picture in pure darkness and it come out as clear as day.
That ‘fan’ was the botanist--she swore the woman came to work high on her own hybrid plants more often than not. That only shined through as she chose now of all times to take a photo op. While Cam was the carefree leader and eagerly obliged, Meiku thought for a moment that maybe she was too casual with such a leader, and her boss.
“Erm---lunch?” Her mind finally processed the question from earlier. She sat there wide-eyed for a moment. It had been rare for the woman to step outside of her lab, let alone get a proper meal as of late. Due to the Earthling’s intense focus on a task she often neglected herself until she made the breakthroughs that sated her appetite.
“Sure thing!” Meiku replied eagerly towards the man. The mere thought of a warm meal lulled her mind into a daze. “Perhaps you can show me some of your favorites of this world. I must say, if it’s anything like those chips and salsa---I will enjoy. I’m pretty easy to please.”
While the crew had some major progress, the tree was still attached and there were certain legal and political avenues that the woman had to cross before they put any plan into action. She would have to prove her theory, ensure it was safe, hell---maybe even evacuate the planet in case all goes awry. The mere thought made her stomach turn, alas, she needed to do her presentation.
Soon a projector beamed against the while wall ahead. The woman had organized all of the information like a school project. At least, that was the way her professors always barked about presenting on a subject. Although most of the information may go over a non-engineer’s head, she phrased it in the most layman’s terms she could must while pointing out various diagrams of her systems and theories on removing the tree.
“So, our number one issue is the regeneration of the tree. Even if people try to blow it up, hack it down, or do harm to it---it miraculously recovers in such a speed that it is nearly impossible to remove the entire tree in one fell swoop. So---we don’t harm the tree,”
Meiku cleared her throat and pointed out a diagram that seemed to be a platform several hundreds of kilometers wide. The structure was essentially and overgrown ‘flower pot’, yet it was large enough to fit the width of the tree as well as it’s enormous stretch of roots. It was massive, perhaps inefficient, but----this was one of Meiku’s best ideas they had ran through.
“We excavate the tree bit by bit----removing all roots and remnants---and transplant it onto this floating fortress so to speak. With it at least off the planet Kabocha can recover, meanwhile we supply what we can to the tree. I’m not sure the pure resources it will require, but something of this size will be costly; and time consuming. We will probably need the cooperation of everyone on this planet to make it happen.” Cam WC: 648 | 1214

He looked around the room, as the lights dimmed it didn't seem to make much of a difference, though unlike any of the humans in the room, Cam's eyes glinted in the dim light, a seeming almost to glow in the dark, the reality of it though was that much like a cat's eyes, Kabochans had an extra layer of cells within them know as tapetum which allowed them to catch much more light, making them shine as they did now, "I know a good joint not too far from here. We can go there after you're done," before he would let Meiku give her presentation, she might have felt flustered or embarrassed, but Cam never went to a conventional school, everything he had learned was from his time as a youth among his people in a village that had settled in the skeleton of a derelict city or what the Frieza force had taught him in their academies and training, though the key difference was he could actually relax here. "Cooperation I'm not too worried about. I have one of the largest fleets in the galaxy and more than few populated planets with able-bodied workers. Not to mention I'm sure most Kabochans on the planet would be willing to work for their home world as well as their Emperor," though in truth if he could take Ikonda and its planetary facilities for ship and technology building, he could create himself all the mechanical arms he needed for this project. "This is more ambitious than I anticipated though. How do we get the tree in the sky? I imagine we'll need more than a few cruisers to tow it? Or did you have something else in mind?" It struck him as odd that she would want to not only keep the tree alive, but nurture it as well. Odd, but definitely beneficial, especially if he held the tree in his clutches. That gave him access to near endless power and his eyes seemed to glitter with delight as the earthling spoke, "You let me worry about the man power. I'll muster it at the end of the day. Go on," he gestured, curious to see if their were more specifics or if their would be any other requirements necessary to enact Meiku's plan.

Meiku couldn’t help but gaze into the man’s shimmering eyes. It was odd that an alien species could resemble her own so physically, but contain completely different traits that were normally invisible. Yet, this man’s eyes were almost ethereal in nature. She felt herself mesmerized by the light which reminded her of some of her portals she created. Perhaps she stared because she was being lulled to sleep after days on days of working without it.
“After I’m done?” Meiku repeated the man’s words as if she were slow in the head. However, she clearly understood. Food, time away from the lab---perhaps the fruits of her efforts were finally being shown. Her stomach audibly growled, a bellowing of hunger that couldn’t be hidden as she went through her presentation more thoroughly.
“I figured that getting your people to conglomerate and work together wouldn’t be an issue. But, I’m glad you post questions and arguments to my plan. Trust me, with a team this good we have ran the numbers time and time again. We know the odds are tremendously against us…”
Meiku paused and looked towards her hands which rested in her lap idly. She would be to blame if anything went wrong, so she had to make this as possible---as ...well… possible.
She clicked a button upon her tablet and a new slide was revealed. It was the mega Ikondan ship that Commander Onyon had given as a gift. One photo was their current progress on returning the ship to its original glory, as well as outfitting it to tow a heavy load.
“All unnecessary weight has been gutted from the vessel for the time being. That should allot for more towing capabilities. My aim is to use this ship as our proverbial mule. So long as we take the beast of a tree out in one fell swoop---I think we can make it happen Cam.” Meiku looked towards the emperor earnestly. If he saw the endless notes and failed numbers she ran, his head would swirl. She had thought of all the possibilities her and her team could muster. They were some of the best minds in the galaxy too.
“If we can manage to keep the tree alive long enough to transplant it and recover it’s health---it may prove to be yet another powerful asset to Kabocha. Not only that, but it will stop harming the planet itself. However, this may put a huge target on our heads---if there isn’t one of those already.” Cam WC: 417 | 1631

This plan *pleased* the Emperor no doubt. A healthy tree of might in his arsenal was a weapon that would tip the scales against any other true enemy he fought. He almost burst into laughter when Meiku stated that having it might paint a target on his back. "You're correct there. It just might, but Kabocha has had a target painted on it for the last five hundred years. This is something we need to use, but use carefully. I think I know how we can defend it though. So you need the men and you need that super ship to pull it free. Alright, those things can be done. The ship is already being repaired as we speak. So we excavate the area around the tree as best we can, then pull it out with the ship and attach it to some sort of platform... I suppose I'll need to accrue resources for said space platform. Some sort of terra-station with an environment that can be refreshed to sustain the tree," standing the Emperor nodded, "I like this a lot Meiku. It seems worth a shot, the worst that happens is we kill the tree in the process, but we still save the entire planet, I like those outcomes. I'll start things rolling on my end and make sure people contact you about this Meiku." "Lets get some lunch. We can talk the finer points," and that'd just what they would do. The motorcade outside was more than able to accommodate all of Meiku's team, different hover vehicles loaded up with most staff in one vehicle and Meiku with himself in another, with a trio of guard vehicles both at the front and back. The inside was crisp and polished, made from leather of some sort or a very convincing fake, their were drinks and a phone, as well as several energy blasters in a case off to one side in case of attack. It was a relatively short ride, though Cam would do the important talking here, "Once we're done here, I have another job. You've proven yourself more than reliable Meiku and if you can do this, well, I'd give you just about anything. You've saved an entire planet and its species, now I'm going to ask the impossible again: I need you to help me end the war with the Ikondans." Indeed impossible, diplomacy wasn't an option nor was overwhelming them with an army--any army that attacked the planet would be destroyed in short order, "I want you to develop a software that can pacify the Ikondan collective," Cam seemed to squirm at the notion though it was the only way, "I don't like that this is the route we have to go, but fighting Ikonda in an all out war is out of the question, too many lives would be lost on both sides. No foreign species has ever been able to establish a permanent foothold on Ikonda, but if you could develop something to somehow pacify them, that would allow us to move in. Hell, even something to take down their communication network for a few days would give us the edge we need to take the planet. I... Don't like interfering with free-will, of anything or anyone, so if an option can be developed that doesn't interfere with it, so be it." He paused, "We've never been able to defeat them or make peace with them because we simply can't understand them. Anything you can do on this front would help greatly. I want to restore my planet, but if another Ikondan fleet tries to scorch Kabocha, well whether we move the tree or not won't matter all that much, will it?"

Meiku could feel a pride swelling in her chest from the man’s approval of her and the team’s plan. They had worked effortlessly to put this together, even she had practiced her statements and arguments to push the plan through. Yet, she wasn’t expecting such positivity, especially concerning the risks that Cam would take with his planet. Meiku nodded as the man went through his points of gathering the man power and rushing the completion of the mega Ikondan ship they had acquired.
It appeared the man understood her plan, and even seemed hopeful that it would work out for them. That's reassuring at least. Having the man’s full support in this endeavor meant a lot to the Earthling. If she could pull off such a feat, she would surely mount her name as one of the brightest minds in the universe; at least...she hoped.
“Excellent Cam, I can’t wait to move forward with this. We all can’t wait.” Meiku motioned towards the rest of the group before standing and returning the lights to their full brightness. The crowd all waved respectfully towards Cam before filing out of the room, and hopefully out of the lab for the first time in a while. She hoped that they all rested easy, and that---she didn’t push them too hard. Meiku had always been a hard worker, often times she forced that upon the people around as well. Hopefully this lunch would reward them all.
“Right, I’m starving!” Meiku chimed in eagerly at the emperor’s proposition. Before following behind the rest of her team. The motorcade was eagerly waiting, and her peers loaded into one. However, Cam lured her to another. It was heavily guarded, she truly forgot sometimes how much of a target Cam already was. Either way, the pair loaded into the car and took a bit of a drive.
However, the severity of the conversation that took place caught her off guard. Per usual Cam offered praise to lure her in, but then asked her another favor. Wary gray eyes narrowed as she turned to look at the ethereal gaze of Cam.
“So you want me to flip them on their heads, so that you can do whatever while they are in disarray.” Meiku listened to the man’s brief description of the plans he had. The Ikondan’s were indeed a race fueled by technology, unfortunately for them, technology was easy to manipulate with the right tools. If anyone had an extensive array of utensils, it was Meiku.
“Leave their free-will eh? I mean, they aren’t entirely robots either so-- I’m not sure that taking over their free-will would even be possible anyhow. So, that’s good. I can brew up some stuff for sure. If they submit to your will, what do you plan on doing with their race, their people, their planet?”
Meiku turned to look out the window of the vehicle curiously as they pulled up to an unknown location. It seemed they had arrived at wherever the emperor had intended to eat. But, the woman’s mind was now ablaze with a new task. Normally she liked to see things through with one plan before moving to the next. However--she was fairly confident that removing the tree would be successful, at least she prayed.
“S-So, I assume this is some local food huh? I’m eager to taste what your people have to offer! Hopefully your palates aren’t too odd to a silly Earthling like me?” Meiku’s door was soon opened by one of the guards and she stepped out onto the ground warily looking around for a hint as to where they were. While she had been on the planet for a while, most of her exposure was in the dessert or her lab. Most of the food and supplies she needed was delivered to her by Cam’s people.

"I intend to make them citizens of the Kabochan empire, same as any other planet I would liberate. Integrate their knowledge and technology with ours and vise-versa. In all honesty though, I want thier methods of production. Cybernetic augmentation could advance our soldiers as well as our medical capabilities greatly, but the Ikondans before recently would send a fleet of dozens of ships about twice a year to ravage Kabocha. That's why the planet has many graveyards of ships--they're fallen Ikondan fleets. They have methods of production faster than any other individual planet out there. With those we could create ships and bots to fight as well as guard and preserve peace. Imagine it," Cam said as he looked out the window of the hover car they were in, "I could deploy an army of robots on any planet that needs protection with a team of controllers and technicians to maintain said robotic garrison. Far less people would die, far less people would die on both sides. Robots don't shoot each other in friendly fire. Robots don't loot and pillage, robots don't rape and kill needlessly, and a wife or husband doesn't become a widow when a robot dies in combat." Never mind that he would be able to generate tens of thousands of them quickly, it would speed up expansion, "And with you and your team, I know we can make sure that they're not easy to hack or destroy. Keep in mind you wouldn't be the first to try with Ikonda. Bringing down their collective network will be far from easy." He smiled at Meiku's apprehension with alien food, "Lots of salties and sweets. I think you'll like it more than you think. It's hands on, and there's a lot of fire searing as well. Presentation is a large part of Kabochan culture if you hadn't gathered." Kabochan food by nature had been survival food, things meant to keep for months on end, this meant fermentation and salting were commonplace among the species, though how was entirely different. Juice from a plant not unlike a cactus was used to preserve most meats and vegetables, sugar was a rare commodity save for what could be gathered out of melons, fruit was the main staple of Kabocha, with multiple suns plants that thrived on sunlight were the easiest to grow and harvest. Stepping out of the motorcade he entered a Restaurant name, 'Blackened briars' looked on the higher end of quality. Stepping inside one would be exposed to more traditional themes of Kabochan culture and decadence, the interior seemed to be made from a polished granite-like stone, golden railings guided customers to the main antechamber which was almost set up like an amphitheater, at its center a kitchen with multiple chefs moving quickly from stove to skillet to shelf, various seasonings and powders were used. It seemed the servers knew who was coming as a Kabochan woman with dyed red hair that had blue tips smiled at everyone, leading the way to a large tablet that looked like it was made out of obsidian, it rose out of the ground and was one solid piece rather than having space beneath it. Mats were around it that one could sit on. Cam stepped to the central most chair--what was considered the head in Kabochan culture. He removed his shoes and gloves and set them aside, He sat first, then others were allowed to sit. Each diner was given a long swatch of embroidered cloth that acted both as a symbol of status as well as an identifier of ones place in career. Given a black and gold cloth, each person on the team was given an embroidered blue swatch with gold filigree. Their were many tables set up this way, and watching other Kabochans dining one could see it was used both as a napkin as well as a plate. It seemed utensils were option, some ate their hands while others used psychic powers to deliver food to their mouth, though some used a utinsel resembling something close to fork, though it was shaped more like a Y along with a handled crescent shaped blade that looked like a D. A menu was set next to each diner, images of food next to each description and a glass filled with an aloe like substance with water and sugar was set out with each person. An attendant would step up to one side of the block, seeming to focus for a second before she thrust her hand forwards and a gout of blue flame, ki energy fueled flame ignited in the center of the large obsidian table. It didn't provide any heat, oddly enough, though it was real flame and touching it would certainly mean getting burned. Cam was quick to order, "The Gorim and Sunfruit and saltrock platter, please." he said before handing his menu over to the attendant. She would incline her head before looking towards Meiku. Several attendants around the table taking other guests orders quickly. Service was punctual, even if you weren't an Emperor.

For the major duration of the ride, Meiku’s head was abuzz with all the information Cam had just given her. He had plots in his head, he had big ideas. He spoke of his plan of neutralizing and entire race of people, and how it wasn’t the first time. Often times, Meiku seemed to forget the moniker of emperor that Cam carried. She had really only seem certain political conversations the man had. She had seem in casually in a sweater in his personal quarters. She had known Cam as a person and a friend before a boss or even a threat. She only hoped he didn’t merely see her and her team as pawns in this game; and if he did, she hoped that wasn’t their sole worth. Her sullen eyes looked towards the ground once they were finally on solid earth again.
Alas, the conversation shifted suddenly back to the talk of Kabochan cuisine. She had hoped that a hearty meal would get her mind off the tasks of her future, or even her successes for the day. While Cam showed her much appreciation for her hard work, she felt like a mule with a carrot dangling right before her face.
“I see, I’m excited for the show then! I couldn’t turn down a meal, no matter if it was pig’s guts right now.”
Meiku mumbled jokingly towards the Kabochan. Her eyes focused on the restaurant front. It resembled something of an expensive steakhouse on Earth, which was a rare commodity for the hard-working Earthling. Her family ran their own business, but money was still tight. Often times birthdays or other achievements marked the only time they could indulge in such a dinner.
He led the way, the woman who promptly greeted them appeared to be a hostess of sorts. The atmosphere in the room immediately relaxed the woman. It was rather dim besides the various fires that were lit at each group of customers tables. The soft sounds of the kitchen staff hurrying around reminded her that she was in a restaurant after all. They were soon walked through the hallways to their table which appeared the jut oddly out of the ground. It was much different than anything she had ever sit at, but after Cam took his place at the head of the table, she mirrored him. She properly removed the boots from her feet and found her place in the assigned seating of things.
“Wow, this is...more than I thought. I figured we were just going to some….vendor or something…” Meiku hushedly whispered to the dark-haired man as the hostess walked around and delivered them each an embroidered cloth. The Earthling help it in her hands curiously, her fingertips running over the rivets and dips in its surface.
“Huh, oh thank you!” Meiku managed to murmur her appreciation as menus and jars of an odd substance were passed out to each of the diners. Meiku tried to put some guesses into what was its contents, but decided it was probably better that she didn’t know.
She flipped through the pages of the menu, looking at various fruit based entrees. She had no idea what the species were or what they meant. However, she just eyeballed the several pictures until she found something that seemed to be savory. Her eyes shot up towards Cam as he stated his order to the waiter. She frantically finalized the decision in her head before pointing at a single picture and handing her menu to the server.
“Ahhh, I have no idea what I just ordered! I’m sure that it’ll be lovely though, it’s kind of exciting to be honest!”
The Earthling found her gaze retreating back to the azure fire that stayed ablaze at the center of the obsidian table. Was this mere lighting? Or--was this the catalyst to feed them for the evening. Either Way, she was sure that it wasn’t cheap and was extremely grateful for her boss supplying such an evening of full bellies and hopefully healthy laughter. Cam WC: 675 | 2947

The blue flame cast a light that glittered over the obsidian block that made up their table, it almost made it look like stars or lights beneath an inky black ocean, the dim, warm lighting in the corners of the room shed enough like that everyone could see everyone else, but it was a comfortable ambiance, when Meiku seemed surprised he furrowed his brow, "I would like to think I know how to treat my friends to a good time. I know I may seem business-like at times, but trust me. I know how to have fun," he shot the human girl a wink, "I know it might seem odd to other races, but Kabochan culture is one that blurs the line between business and pleasure--often and almost exclusively. Knowing what someone had to offer and appreciating it is almost expected, but there's never any reason to be cold towards someone because they have something to offer. I imagine I have something I can offer you that you want, being honest about it takes out the guess work and lets people maintain healthy relationships, we feel. I know since you arrived you've been helping us, and I want you to know I do appreciate it. So if there's anything else you need Meiku, just ask and I'll accommodate. If that's a ship to your home world, if that's money or a place to stay, or whatever, you have one of my scouters, reaching me isn't hard." His amber eyes settled on the human a moment longer and one got the sense that Cam was being entirely honest--as honest as he could be anyway. He did appreciate everything Meiku had contributed, in his eyes she was an angel that fell from the sky that offered solutions to the problems not only he, but his entire people had, He viewed Meiku as a woman of unbridled potential, and there was only one thing to do when you ran into that kind of person: Enable them to succeed in any way you can. At her remark of not knowing what she ordered, the Kabochan chuckled, "That's... Well it's a noodle soup with soft thistles and Sellur meat," he paused, looking around the room, "Ah, you've never seen a Sellur have you? They're a fearsome beast that patrols the wastelands of Kabochan, they're omnivorous so they eat just about anything but they're mostly predators. They're kind of like a cross between a lizard and a your earthling tigers," he shrugged once, "I like it personally, but some don't at all. I think the closest comparison I've ever head comes from earth too, given how much food earth has, but it's akin to eating freshly hunted bear. It's cooked with thistles off a Sunfruit plant. When they're cooked together the high citrus content sort of softens and marinates the meat as it cooks, and it's all served in a Gamora root broth with egg noodles," He paused before he laughed, "You know you can ask the retainers about any food. Kabochans eat things in four courses so this is an appetizer." Appetizer indeed, one could watch as the retainers one after another reported their orders to the master chefs at the center kitchen of the room, any obstructions were cleared out of the way, three chefs with a large boiler of some sort, something that looked like a giant wok, and a massive skillet began to cook, Meiku might think she was being taken out for hibachi--the smell was aromatic, salty, with just a hint of blossom beneath it in the room, however there was a stark difference. These chef's had incredible power levels for just civilians, each breaking nearly six thousand, and it was required. The nature of many of Kabocha's food and ingredients were toxic or poisonous, with some exceptions, but precise cutting, searing, boiling and cooking--the kind of timing that only an adept ki user had, was required. To the normal person they would be just a blur behind the counter, but to this party they were chefs that were they in a confrontation, would have been vastly skilled warriors. When they were done, a garnished dish on a small enameled plate or in a small enameled bowl wound be set out for a retainer to take to its respective owner. A bowl of soup with what looked like some kind of fish and noodle in it, sliced, grilled fruit beside it and several perfectly cubed blocks of salt that the emperor picked up and dropped into the soup, stirring it, though he didn't need to touch the spoon, a mere twirl of his finger caused his psychic powers to make the spoon move for him. Not more than thirty seconds later, a shallower but wider bowl filled with noodles, a much darker, almost black broth, and cubes of cut up seared meat that carried a wet, savory, salty aroma. A few of of the same cubes of salt sat on the side, but what also looked like branches of thorns sat in the dish--while they looked dangerous, they had been boiled to a point where if Meiku bit into the plant material she would find it had a much softer texture akin to celery, it certainly wasn't acting like a thistle and cutting up her mouth, if she dropped a cube of salt in it would take time to dissolve, the Emperor holding one up, "Care to know a little secret of our race? You've seen I can enter space without any sort of protection. That is due to salt. The way our bodies process it, we hold on to it for much longer. It preserves our bodies and changes the way the gasses in our blood works, meaning we retain water and oxygen for much, much longer than you humans do. Though no salt, means this immunity goes away after a time. A cube a week keeps us stable though. You don't want to see a Kabochan who becomes salt deprived though, that's for certain," Cam cautioned as he ate, his eyes lidding as he hummed with delight at the flavor of his dish.

Meiku was indeed mesmerized by the radiant flame that lit the stone before them, so much so it seemed to whip to and fro in slow motion. Her eyes tried to focus on the flame, but it’s ambience somewhat put her into a daze. All the sounds around her seemed to dull in this moment, everything was still and muted. She shifted her weight due to a tingling sensation that arose in her feet. She was sitting on them after all.
Still, Cam’s voice seemed to draw her attention back in as they awaited the hurried chefs to complete their meal. Her head turned to him, the rivets of long black locks falling over her shoulder. He spoke of the mix of fun and business, something that Meiku had a hard time doing herself. She always took her work way too seriously, often times neglecting herself, and those around her until she felt the task at hand was complete or perfectly executed. The heavy bags under her eyes only emphasized how much sleep she had lost on her current projects. Even after her team retired for the night, Meiku worked tirelessly to make things work.
“Friends…” she repeated quietly to herself. Though she knew the emperor decently, she wasn’t sure if he had considered her a friend. However, with his confirmation a smile pressed to her wary lips. It was good to know that someone considered her such in a relationship. Someone was there, even if her family had outcasted her due to the weird manifestation of magic that had consumed her life. She often thought of returning to Earth and proving that she had complete control over her abilities, yet---part of her resented being forced into rural solitude by those whom she held so dearly.
Cam went on to express his gratitude for her aid in the restoration of Kabocha. He then provided examples of the mountains he could move to reward her. She needn’t a ship to return home, nor did she want to. Money and a place to stay were things that Cam already had provided her. If the woman truly wanted something, she was the type to make it happen within her own means, not grovel for it.
At least the dish she ordered was something comparable to Earthling food. “Ah bear is a very gamey meat, hard to prepare and make taste good. I wonder if that is the same as well, these chefs must be very talented.” Meiku smiled and turned her awkward gaze from the Emperor and back towards the fire that rolled with unending vigor. Soon the giant cooking pots and utensils were unveiled and a warm and savory aroma entered her nares. She found herself sitting up in her seat with curiosity. She always enjoyed a good show, and if this was anything like what Cam described she was sure to have a good evening away from the worry of work.
“Four courses….a---that seems like a hefty appetizer! I suppose Kabochan’s can eat then!” Meiku chuckled as she watched the first rounds of food get passed out to everyone respectively at the table. The cooking continued and she found herself entranced by the precision and artwork that the chefs managed to produce.
“Wow, this is… something!” Meiku jested before a bowl was placed in front of her. It was wide with a dark broth. Within it, something floated that looked like it would hurt her mouth to eat. Yet, Cam smiled and reassured her that it was all something delicious. Her eyes shifted towards the cubes of salt that resembled sugar. A single fingertip pressed to the cubes as Cam went on to reveal the weird biology that the mineral had on his race. It was intriguing for sure.
To fit in she dropped one of the cubes into the hot broth before stirring around the noodles with whatever odd utensil was provided. It took a moment to fully dissolve, however, when it did--Meiku couldn’t help herself from wanting to delve in. Awkwardly she glanced around at the room of people indulging telepathically. Yet, here she was with an oddly shaped fork twirling up the noodles. She raised a spoonful of broth to her lips before blowing on it gently. She had to appreciate that before she took in the solids of the appetizer. With a slurp her eyes fell shut.
Salty, but flavorful. It reminded her of when she accidently drank water in the ocean as a child. But it was piss warm and nutrition rich. Next she raised the noodles to her mouth and munched them down greedily. They were delicious, and her expression clearly painted it as suck.
“Mmmmm! Now on to the nitty gritty,” She stabbed through a piece of the add looking thistle before showing it wholy into her gaping maw. She chewed through the odd texture, but still---it was lovely too!
It didn’t take long for her to devour the bowl greedily. It had been weeks since she had a legitimate meal and not some processed bullcrap. However, she wondered if she too should eat like the rest of the table. Though she had the abilities of magic, could she even do it? Would it be like a baby learning how to use a spoon for the first time?
With the small amount of broth remaining in her body she used a bit of magic to stir it around and test the waters.
“Wow, I have no idea that---this salt affected you in that way though. It’s funny how similar your race looks, yet---how different we all truly can be. Cam, thanks for this.”
Perhaps it was abrupt, but she had to admit. While Cam probably was thanking her for all the hard work she and her team did. She was thanking him for even having work to do. It was her passion, and a field that was hard to get into without having fame already. Opportunities were hard to come by, yet he presented her with plenty to do good and be better. Now, taking over the Ikondan’s was something else. She would be creating something for use against an entire race of people. She questioned the morality of it--but she knew of the troubled past of the two planets.
“I should let you pick out my food for the rest of the night! After all, I’m sure you’ve had some Earthling food to know our tastes a bit eh?”

"spent more time than I should of in Space Vegas. Not proud if that," He looked over at Meiku, seeming suddenly less jovial, "I'm ashamed to say I was a part of the Frieza force for nearly a decade. I did horrible things. Not by choice of course, they took over our planet a number of years ago before the royal family finally managed to pay them off. Killed my father and family, and took the women and children as slaves or conscripts in their army, I was a child then. Grew up learning how to kill, I did a lot of terrible things. Now with what I am, the status and power I have, I look at this as a chance to atone for those misgivings. Evil people have tried to use what I have time and time again, but this galaxy. People like the Ikondans, the Arcosians, the Brench, the Galactic Empire, even the Saiyan Dominion. They need to know there's a different way," Here he was, providing his motives and ambitions to Meiku. She was the first person that the Emperor had come to trust in a long time, admittedly Cam felt fragile in this moment. He knew some would see him as some niave, ruthless conqueror or violent dictator, but he was trying to shed that image. Sure, he was a warlord by definition, he took what he wanted and reshaped it, but in the long run, after a few months of Kabochan rule, every planet he had taken was content and happy, many planets received a list of laws and proclamations that were more freeing than the previous rule they had been dominated by. After all, if Meiku wished should could log onto her computer or her phone or any piece of technology and see what the media said: The Saiyan Dominion looked at Emperor Carambolis as a possible true, strong ally, the Galactic Empire had considered him a protectorate and asset against the Saiyan Dominion, and independent sources listed him as everything from a savior to some planets to a brutal warlord on others. That truth was somewhere in the middle, and it was changing, it seemed, for the better. At Meiku's declaration to decide her meals, he laughed, nodding, "I'll try and select things that aren't too far off from earthling sensibilities, I will say this though, you earthlings love salt almost as much as we do," and indeed another set of menus were brought, this one centered around Kabochan vegetation more than the original soup. Though other people had some small plates that appeared to look similar to poultry meat. Selecting a sort of mixture of steamed root vegetables, things that weren't too far off from a mixture of carrots and potatoes, that was one thing almost every habitable planet had--root vegetables. They were hardy and could survive, and in a few of the gardens Cam had ordered set up on the rooftops and in raised spaces where the roots of the tree of might couldn't drain them of life, this was the first time in a long time that Kabocha was farming, that people were willing to take those jobs and that was the other half of the media--economically and socially, they had brought prosperity. The cost had been lives though, and for those planets that didn't join willingly, that cost was likely to continue. That wasn't to say diplomacy, intrigue and subterfuge weren't in place, plenty of planets and systems had been taken peacefully and with the entire south quadrant able to trade and deal with the Saiyan Dominion, it wouldn't be long before it just made sense for every planet to join in and get their slice of the proverbial pie in the sky. "How do you want things to go, Meiku? I know I have the ability to help sculpt the future, I've given people freedom to do as they please within reason, I've given planets that never had a voice or a seat at the table those things, I truly wonder if it will be enough, if we can compete with the larger, stronger forces in play," this would be a look the earthling should never forget--fear. Fear sat inside Cam's gave, "There are beings out there beyond my strength and durability, with such dark and powerful ambitions--People who want to slay the gods themselves. This galaxy--this reality, needs to compete against that, and right now most people don't even know it... The only reason I do is because I've seen and fought against them myself. I tell you this not to scare you, but because I wish to be transparent with you. If you stick with me, it could mean fighting against things that powerful and dark. Right now were the underdogs it seems. A mercenary who managed to figure out how to lead," Cam laughed at the notion that he, of all people, could play a role as a vanguard or savior to anyone, he had been a ruthless killer just a few years ago, but now he didn't know what he was. Food interrupted those serious thoughts as another plate of said mixed vegetables was set down in front of Meiku, meanwhile Cam had ordered something that looked like a ham, but was in fact a fruit that had been seasoned and smoked. Kabochans had to be inventive with cuisine at times, otherwise flavors could get repetitive and overwhelming, as such the vegetables that Meiku had while looking somewhat bland were seasoned and marinated in something not unlike butter, pepper, and salt, as well as few notes that simply didn't exist in earth's spice rack.

Her head tilted as he mentioned his past and time in Space Vegas. His expression had shifted, on that was certainly less upbeat than moments before. She soon found out why however. Cam was a member of the Frieza Force? Her eyes widened and her mouth drew slightly agape. She didn’t know much of their antics due to most of her time being shut into the garage and working on her next big thing. Most of her early and late teen years were also honed in on schooling and education. Meiku was a nerd in every sense of the word, and due to that she seemed to be oblivious to many a thing in politics and galactic relationships. Now for the first time in her life, she felt she needed to start giving a shit.
He wanted to atone. Atone for the horrible things he was brought up to do? It seemed kind of redundant in the Earthling’s head, but she could sympathize with guilt. She shot the man a reassuring smile, a smile that tried to paint the expression that she wasn’t judging him for his past mistakes. Even if in childhood and with your life on the line he didn’t have many other options. Perhaps that turmoil in his childhood only staved the man further and further towards his goal of a unified faction and galaxy. One could hope, but in the back of her head she knew there would never truly be peace. It wasn’t the way of the world, or anything for that matter. Shadows cannot exist without a source of light. With the good, came the bad, always---unless Cam had some magical remedy to heal the minds of those war-seekers and bullys.
Finally she managed to break her silence in between bites of the noodles which were growing colder by the second.
“Wow, I didn’t see that coming to be honest. Still, I admire your resolve to try and change the galaxy on such a level. It’s hard enough to neutralize as much as you have, but your ambition goes far beyond this, huh?” The Earthling spoke before pushing a now empty bowl towards a retainer whoe gladly took it away from the table.
“To be frank, I always kept my head in the cloud for most of my life, now this is the first time I’ve really had to take a step down and clear the fog. The universe isn’t as pretty when you don’t ignore the war and slavery.” Meiku stated the obvious, however, she felt it good for the man to know of her ignorance on peacekeeping and humanitarian work.
“Oh? I’m more of a pepper girl to be honest! I always neglect to salt things, perhaps that’s a bad habit,” Meiku smiled after the man agreed to pick out the rest of her dishes for the evening. While the first was good, and her stomach was feeling full already, she figured she may was well play a fun game with the Kabochan. She wondered if he could even guess what her tongue would like.
Next more menus were passed around the table, Meiku chose only to look at them, not decide for herself. Though, she did get a whiff of something decadent. Her eyes darted to the small plates of roasted root vegetables. They looked heavily salted, yet devine. She felt the near full stomach suddenly drop to full capacity. Once more she was ready to eat and explored the tastes of Kabocha.
However, despite the intermission and talk of food, Cam now questioned her. He asked how she wanted things to go. The girl’ hardly thought about tomorrow, let alone what she was having for dinner. She wasn’t a dreamer of the future, no---her dreams were much more internalized.
“I suppose I don’t really care…about the future” She said before the man went on to express his fears and worries of the bigger fish in the sea. Of course there was always someone stronger. If you’re on the top, don’t worry--someone would come for you then too. Meiku wasn’t ignorant to that fact, she just wasn’t involved with it---yet.
Luckily the vegetable platter was set before her to ease the seriousness of the conversation. She used her brain way too much during the work week to think about what ifs and things to come. Right now her mind was solely fixated on the food. Not even the impending job of disabling the Ikondan’s was plowing through her head. She stabbed the odd fork into the various colored roots and began shoveling them into her mouth happily. They were so tender it seemed as if they melted in her mouth.
“I almost died on that Ikondan ship and you feel the need to give me this lecture now? I knew that mission was a risk to my life, yet I took it. I don’t have much else to live for anyhow.” Meiku’s expression was rather stoic, but sincere. The woman didn’t feel as if she had accomplished much in life yet, her family was out of contact, and she had no kids or husband of her own. Not that she wanted that. She was an odd Earthling, perhaps disgruntled in nature.
“I wonder though...what’s the next course? We had soup and vegetables… I can’t imagine what more there could be!” She tried to sway the conversation away from the serious tones and back to the meal at hand. Meanwhile she eyeballed the ham-looking substance on Cam’s plate. “KAMI THESE THINGS ARE SO GOOD THOUGH!” Cam WC: 924 | 4948

Cam guffawed at Meiku's declaration, his eyes seeming to twinkle ever so slightly as she gave her proclamation of his food, "Fruit. Most Kabochans eat mostly fruit, meat and vegetables are good and all, but resilient fruits are about the only thing this planet could ever support," and with that out came the main feast--two chefs stepped to either side of the large obsidian table as it was filled with several plucked and prepped flightless birds, a large animal that looked porcine in nature, but the main feast appeared to looked like some sort of plant of giant, split open durian or jackfruit. It had been seasoned and brined, and needed only to be cooked, as well as several small plates that sat around, cactus pears and other fruits sat around. The chefs bowed to each other, Cam took a scoot back and the chefs waited for everyone else to do so, Cam gesturing for Meiku to do the same with a free hand. Once the stepped back, the chefs thrust their hands forward, a gout of cold fire came from both conjurers that cooked everything on the table in just a few seconds. Quite a show, people clapped and cheered, once it was over, Cam leaned forward and retainers began to serve everyone, a balanced plate of everything given to all those who dined. "You don't think about the future, ever? I know were I in your position that's all I could think about. You have talent, you have control of your energy and magical abilities that even I don't have. Come to think of it, we should spar or train together sometime. I'd like to see the full breadth of your abilities," the Emperor stated before digging in to his food, "You have my resources at your disposal as I've made clear... Perhaps you should take some time off once we uproot the tree. A few days to clear your head and figure out what it is you want or value. We Kabochans live long lives--longer than humans anyway, or when we're not under constant threat of war. Part of becoming an adult in our culture is actually reflecting on yourself and your values, it's actually a very integral exercise," he raised his palm, "Every person has at least five prime values. I've found that's true of every thinking creature. I value Respect--for myself as well as for others, strength--both physically and in moral character, I value communication, both in word, intent and emotion, I value compassion, things like patience and humility, I know what it is to live without any of it around you, people need it, and I value freedom. People need choice, they need to know that life can and should change," he met Meiku's gave after taking another bite of food, "Perhaps you should muse on five prime values for yourself. You can have more of course, everyone does, but I think once you understand someones values you know them much better. Why things make them happy or sad or angry, and why people agree and disagree." He bobbed a shoulder once, "It sounds like you haven't had much time for yourself. You should take it. There's a whole galaxy waiting for all of us, to not participate, in my mind, is the only true sin a person can never atone for. I have to believe that, or I am doomed as a person." He offered an awkward smile to the human, not liking the notion that he couldn't undo or at least somehow pay back and make up for the damage that he had caused, whether he wanted to or not. He paused as he realized that for a long time, he hadn't said his values out loud, or even truly thought of them, yet they made up who he was, how he acted as an Emperor and a person. That was ultimately why he enjoyed Meiku, anytime he had moment with her such as this or even simple conversations, he felt like he got pack a piece of his old self that had been beaten out of him by the Frieza force. Meiku, though she didn't know it, helped make the Kabochan a better person.

It seemed that fruit was the main resource and food of Kabocha. She wondered though, would the planet want to have more variety once it healer? Would the people be resistant to change, or would they welcome it with open arms? The Earthling chuckled towards Cam as he did towards her. Soon, their bouts of laughter were interrupted by the pair of chefs who stood opposite of one another.
Her eyes marveled at the featherless foul, then towards the huge fruit that seemed to be cracked open. It carried an odd aroma, one that would almost be considered disgusting, however--everyone at the table was licking their lips in anticipation. Meiku’s eyes shifted towards Cam as he took a few scoots away from the table and motioned for her to do the same.
“Oh, okay,” the woman replied while pulling herself away from the table. She soon realized why. The light of the ironically cold fire they produced nearly blinded the woman. She held a forearm up to shield her eyes, or what was left of her sight. They carefully cooked all of the food and pass it out accordingly, Meiku smiled at the plate that was set before her which only reinvigorated her hunger.
Cam once again berated her with compliments, she almost felt her cheeks fluster from his words. Deep down though, Meiku loved the praise. If anything, that praise was what kept her going. All of her previous works and inventions had been failures in other’s eyes. Now, she was taking on a monumental task, and the odds seemed in her favor. The amount of recognition she could garner would be unimaginable. But, what would the girl get from that? More work? More tasks? Would it really satisfy her?
She began to shovel the food into her mouth, both meat and fruit alike--it all melded together well. While she did however, Cam brought up the prospect of training or sparring. While Meiku did have a good grasp over her physical and magical abilities, it wasn’t because she wanted to use them to be some grand fighter. In fact, she would rather find a way around a fight if at all possible. The woman couldn’t remember the last time she had a rumble.
“Oh? I suppose we could do that, if you think it’s fruitful. Yeah, maybe I need some time off also. As much as I love my work, I’ve been told by the rest of the team I’m a bit obsessive. I think that’s a bad thing,” Meiku admitted as a few members of the team chuckled at her comment. It was true, they had all took their time to try and get her to go home, yet she relented and found herself face first and drooling over her notes.
It seemed the dinner had turned into a therapy session. Cam ranted about five values, and listed each of his with their explanations and examples. Her mind blanked out after he suggested that she take the time to figure out her own five. What did she value?
Her brows furrowed as she tried to think on it, in fact her ‘fork’ was now resting in her plate as she sat quietly. She knew he didn’t mean for her to ponder over the thought now, yet---it was upsetting. The woman was having a hard time listing out mentally what she valued, besides her work. She stared at her plate for a moment longer as she dug and dug.
“You’re right though, I haven’t taken much time for myself. I think I am much more a pawn in this game of chess.”
Meiku looked back up to the awkward smile that Cam managed to muster in such a tender conversation. It seemed like an odd setting for such a talk. The galaxy was indeed huge, and Meiku was starting to feel like she had found her place---at least, she had hoped.
“Maybe I should just, drop the work for a bit after the tree---then I’ll come back full force on the nanovirus. This will be a huge change for Kabocha---I only hope it’s a good one. Hey, would your planet even eat vegetables and other meats if the planet could sustain them again?”
Meiku changed the topic rather quickly before digging back into her food. Cam WC: 716 | 5664

"Undoubtedly so. We do have all of that, just not as bountiful as the desert fruits, plus some refrain from eating meat for moral reasons," he bobbed his shoulders, "Personally I never cared much what I ate. being a nomad as a child teaches your palette and stomach not to be picky." At Meiku's shifting he nodded, "Saving one world is more than most people--human or otherwise, can say they've ever done. When this is all over take some time. We have to make sure we even have a way to administer said virus first, you leave that to me though," he flapped a hand, "You know. After Ikonda, I was planning on going to Konats. I don't intend to war against them, they're a mostly peaceful people. They quite adept at magic though, perhaps you should come with. I'd like to bring their magics into the fold, as well as their people. Their planet suffered a fate similar to Kabocha, though that was due to dark meddlings and war. Might be able to learn more about your magic that way," the Emperor suggested, "If nothing else, you get to see a new planet. That's half the beauty of the job right? Being able to go across the galaxy and indulge and partake in all the different cultures you can? After all, you said you've never been all that invested in the galaxy. I... You're hesitant to return home. I don't blame you for that, but you have an entire galaxy. I've been to Earth many times, it's a wonderful planet, but their are other paradises our there." He had finished eating quickly. His appetites, both mental and physical, were large, and he was quick to sate them, indulgence and avarice weren't necessarily evil things in the minds of Kabochans, though their was a line between indulgence and gluttony in Cam's mind. Dessert was quick to be served, something much more simple and something Meiku would be familiar with: Vanilla icecream, though it looked like it was hand-made. Little black spots within hinted that actual vanilla had been used in the making rather than an extract, a drizzle of honey and chocolate were set on the plate artfully along with a sprig of mint leaf. A tiny spoon served with it, Cam did what he did best and indulged, "Though, once this is over don't be so hesitant to return home. People forgive. I know if I had the chance to see even one of my family members again, I'd embrace them with open arms. Never mind you'd be returning as the savior of another world, not too bad for a woman only just entering her prime, aye?" And just like that, he had finished his ice cream, wiping his mouth clean, he shot the woman another fond gaze, "Just think about it. Take the rest of the night off and relax. There's casinos here, with all kinds of luxuries in them, hot tubs, swimming pools, theme parks, all kinds of gambling, all sorts of different shows--Pukinpa here was once Space vegas, before Space vegas was built, of course. We don't mind the competition of course." He leaned in, shielding one side of his mouth as he whispered to Meiku, "There's also men and women of the night. That sort of thing is legal here in the vistas. Just go relax and take care of yourself, however you need." He set a token down in front of the woman, "You need only show that at the casino and you'll have all the currency you need to have fun." The token itself appeared to be made of some kind of metal not unlike silver, the face of some kabochan king stamped into it, it gave off a tempting shine, as if to say, 'Time to indulge.'

"I suppose you’re right. What I’m doing is a huge deal, especially for you and your people. I suppose I never thought of it like that. Saving the entirety of a planet, even possibly returning it to its former glory---those are amazing feats,” Meiku replied to the man after he admitted that what the engineer was working towards was something magnificent.
Again, the dopey smile returned to her face. Sulking on the negatives in life didn’t do anything, action did. Meiku had tons of action to get into as well. However, the man also ushered her to return home and perhaps mend things between her and her family. It was a sore subject, but probably something to consider since she had a better control over her power. Hell, if she did decide to travel with Cam to Konats, her control over the mystical would only improve. She nodded towards him, her once depressing gaze lifted and reinvigorated.
“Right, I’d love to see Konats! I’d love to accompany you and get a taste of how another magically influenced planet runs. From what I hear they are more adept at the mytical shiz than your people eh?”
Meiku cleared her plate that had been lingering and staring at her for the past few minutes. Cam continued to talk about the vast paradises that stay nestled in the galaxy. To be honest, the woman wasn’t ever the type to take time off or enjoy leisurely activities. However, they were all starting to sound tantalizing to the Earthling.
As soon as their plates were cleared, dessert was served. Ice cream? She was expecting some gelatin made of fruit, yet here was what appeared to be basic vanilla ice cream. The aroma was phenomenal, she quickly dug into the white mountain with her spoon before putting a heaping into her maw.
“Mmmmm, COLD!” She exclaimed while letting the cold dessert melt into her mouth. She wasn’t sure what she was expecting, it was ice cream after all.
“But yeah, maybe you’re right about that too. My family only sent me away because of the chaos I caused due to the lack of control I had over this power. Now that everything is in check, I can’t imagine there would be too much bad blood between us, at least...I hope not.”
The woman finished the bowl, it’s milky bottom tempting the woman to lick it clean. She pushed it away and soon a retainer quickly removed the dish.
Cam spoke of casinos, with all the amenities. Hot tubs, pools, theme parks, it seemed like a fantasy world, yet all here in Pukinpa. Her lips curved into a smile at the thought of enjoying herself, she hadn’t gambled before---but she learned all about counting cards and probabilities. Perhaps she could enjoy herself and play some games, after all, with the salary that the emperor provided--there was no need for her to win so much money.
“Do I look like I want to be with men and women of the night? Hah, glad you think so highly of me,” It was true though. While the woman was nowhere close to a virgin, she often neglected her partners for studies or work. It didn’t make for the most fruitful relationships bedroom wise, but it still happened occasionally.
Meiku glanced at the token on the table before curiously picking it up and flipping it over a few times. She shoved it into her shirt for later use.
“However, it will be nice to have a little fun though, maybe I could get a massage or something. My neck has a back crick in it from looking at my multitude of monitors all day. First...erm… world problems?” Meiku joked hesitantly before standing up and stretching out her limbs. She was sore, tired and honestly ready for bed. Yet, the night was still young and she had much to explore. Cam WC: 650 | 6314

Cam chortled, "I know of your human stigmas with sex. No such stigma exists here. Free kings of Kabocha cut the heads off dissenters in the past. We've always held the rights of our people on high, it was quickly realized that repression of rights on our planet typically results in revolt." Cam explained, his tone was even and more explanatory, he wasn't offended by Meiku's cadence or assumption that such acts were considered low brow, "Indeed, perhaps a massage is in order. Get that corrected, being an Emperor has its perks from time to time," Cam explained. Okay it had a large multitude of perks like wealth, power and influence that couldn't be had anywhere else, as well as the rush of battle and political wit and Carambolis would be the first to admit that he enjoyed such things, nepotism and self-indulgence were cornerstones to Kabochan society, simple as that, though Meiku had likely realized by now that, so long as no harm was being done, most Kabochans didn't care what you did. The Emperor finally stood, bowing to the staff in a low, respectful manner, an act that showed deep appreciation as he collected the bill and had it paid promptly, the staff bowing just as deeply, each person who dined with them was given a fruit not unlike a clemetine except the skin was a deep green. The Emperor peeling the skin off and eating it as he moved back to the motorcade, "Do you care for a ride or do you want to just hit the town on your own?" He asked Meiku, "I can have the rest of your staff chauffeured home, but if you need a ride or anything else, you know I'm only a call on your scouter away." The Emperor explained. He was trying to be a good friend. For how deeply he spoke and how much he had shared, it was still hard to be a friend to others, to trust they had a good nature and wanted to be his friend or benefit with him. The treatment and abuse from the Frieza force installing a sort of constant paranoia and anxiety that was hard to shake, though the facade of confidence and decisiveness was always broadcasted. So far Cam knew of only two people that saw through it, Coca and Talfa, maybe Hureo, but no one ever spoke to him about it. His image had grown larger than his true mortal state, people looked at him as invincible, beyond what he truly was.

“Human stigmas with sex----HEY! I mean, it’s become a lot more of an open discussion point for our people I suppose. It’s just not very interesting. Not like installing new pumps in a ship, or creating some wild invention. Now that’s what gets me excited!” Meiku winked towards the man in what seemed almost like a flirtatious manner, however---it was a joke. All of it was a joke. Meiku’s life was a joke. Her sex life too---not that she cared. Outside perceptions on her lifestyle didn’t matter to her--all that did at the end of the day is how she felt, and if she gave the day her best.
“It’s not that I think lowly of people who are more promiscuous, it’s just not my cup of tea is all. Hell, one person isn’t even my cup of tea. I could create a lover who is perfect for me, but I think there are new laws coming into play for artificial beings.”
Meiku found herself laughing in her head at the thought of constructing some lewd sex bot---but she highly considered making one as a companion. Messing around with artificial intelligence was on her list soon. However, she was worried about the ways it could go badly. She shrugged the thought for now as Cam explained Kabochan culture some more and how they always weren’t such a ruleless society.
Meiku cleared her throat as she noticed the man bowing towards the staff, who seemed to return the action. She hastily joined in and thanked them for the meal, and taste of Kabocha. She had thoroughly enjoyed herself for the night, all at the gracious hands of the Kabochan emperor himself. Most would feel lucky to be in her position she imagined, yet---here she was. Some Earthling girl who just happened to get lucky and crash her ship into the surface. She had never left.
The woman was handed the small green fruit which she pocketed for later. It seemed like it would be a refreshing snack once she made some more room in her gut. But for now, Cam was addressing her once more as they moved back to the city streets of Pukinpa. When asked if she needed a ride, she shook her head. Honestly, the woman felt she took up enough of the man’s time for the night--she was sure they both had other things on their agendas.
“I think I’m good to explore a bit on my own. But---I appreciate your offer nonetheless. Dinner was lovely, talking was nice. I must admit---I needed a bit of human interaction for the night. So--thanks so much, A--And I know! I can always call you!” Meiku chuckled as he stated he was but a scouter button away. With such an easily accessible boss, Meiku couldn’t complain.
“You’re a good man,” the Earthling responded before taking a few steps towards Cam. it was a normal greeting or goodbye between friends on Earth, and she hoped she wasn’t overstepping her bounds. Hopefully his guards didn’t put holes in her like cheese.
A hug. Her arms wrapped around his slightly wide shoulders as she tried to offer him a sincere thank you for the evening. Regardless of whether he shrugged away or not, she followed with a wave and began prancing down the city streets. Whatever trouble she was getting into tonight, was a mystery. Cam WC: 562 | 6876
