Abbayor Central Hospital, Abbyaor
"How's he doing doc?" Gen said.
Rows of pods lined the wall of the healing bay. Only a few of them had people floating in them. This was one of the lower floors of the massive hospital facility. These healing pods here were at least a few centuries old. They were inefficient and slow at best, especially compared to the more modern ones. Genesis wasn't exactly rich enough to afford paying for treatment like that, so he did what he could.
In fact, he had been sleeping inside his ship's bunk since paying Tora's bill. That was, when he wasn't out investigating Dain Sincara and Sly. Finding out info about them was proving to be difficult, but he had a few good leads he intended on chasing as Riley Slate.
The doctor was an old yellow skinned Brenchian with a bushy mustache and a kink in his back. His cane tapped on the floor tiles as he approached, squinting his tired old eyes eyes a the read out on the holo-display.
"He was mostly healed up yesterday," the doc said. "But, I figured that it was a good idea to give him an extra day. These old tanks don't work like they used to. I typically let em soak long as possible, until there's nothing more than scar issue."
"Thanks for getting us a spot on short notice. I know he was a mess," Gen said and folded his arms across his chest.
"I don't know trouble you boys got yourselves into. You know, if that puncture hole in his chest had been any closer to his heart, he would be a dead man."
Gen frowned at the thought. "He's a hero doc, went down in the line of fire. He was trying to protect someone."
"Well, neither of you fools can save people if you're dead. Think about that next time."
The doc activated the drain sequence. A torrent of bubbles rushed up over Tora's suspended body, as the slimy healing fluid inside began to be suctioned out. Within minutes his consciousness would return and the pod door would open.

Tora gasped painfully as oxygen re-entered his lungs painfully. The last thing he remembered was going up against Dain, Sly, and Amatracina... and losing painfully. He collapsed to the bottom of the healing pod, as the glass door to it slid open, mist rising from the pod. What had happened? How had he survived? The Tiger of Earth's fuzzy vision came back as he clutched at his chest, where a rather painful hole had opened up during the fighting. All he felt was a rough patch of scar tissue. His eyes settled on Genesis, and an alien doctor. Tora was surprised... Had this man saved his life? The young fighter stepped out of the pod as he regained his balance, extending a (slimy) hand to Gen in thanks. Tora felt good as new. Better, even. That had probably been the longest rest he had gotten in months. "So, I suppose I have you to thank for this, huh?" he asked as he allowed his aura to begin to gather around him. He was making sure everything was in working order and he hadn't caused himself some irreparable damage to his ability to manipulate ki. His techniques placed a unique strain on his human physiology and if he didn't start being more careful, Tora would pay the price. Imagine, a martial artist who can't fight... How useless. Tora grinned, in polar contrast to what he felt inside of him. Despondent. Weak. Powerless. Despite his best efforts, he assumed that they had lost. "Thanks, Genesis. So, uh, where are we? I don't leave Earth much! ...and, uh, we lost, huh?" The last question hurt to ask. Tora felt his pride take a blow. His blue aura flared to life- uncontrollably, scattering a few of the Doctor's medical tools and some loose papers as a result of Tora's frustration. Within the depths of his soul, he heard his old master cry in anguish. Apparently the old man had been hurt during the fight- rather drastically. "You're on Abbayor," Gen said. His arms were still crossed.
Tora mentioned the fight. Gen knew the news wouldn't be easy to break. Plus, he wanted to do it somewhere less noisy. The healing bay was filled with beeping, bubbling, and hissing. Plus, Tora was naked as a newborn and soaking wet.
"We'll talk about the battle. I bet you're hungry after being trapped inside of that healing pod for almost a week," Gen said.
"The showers are that way," the doc said. "Hope your friend brought you a change of clothes. Yours were pretty much toast, unless you want to wear blood soaked scraps."
"Oh!"
Gen reached to his belt and pulled out a blue dynocap, tossing it to Tora. "That should fit you. It's uh... a spare uniform like mine. Standard issue of the Stellar Defense Force, from my home-world. Not super stylish by Abbayor's standard, but it'll keep you warm and well protected. I'll wait for you outside while you get ready."
He stepped out into the cool breeze of the outer balcony ring of the hospital. It was a hot day on Abbayor, not a cloud in the peerless cerulean sky. The numerous sterling spires and the lush greenery betweem stretched out as far as the eye could see. Once Tora was ready, Gen led him to the lift and they rode back down to street level.
"You're from Earth right? My mom was born there. She loved ramen soup. I found a place not too far from here that serves it. The owner immigrated from Earth, so it's pretty authentic from what I hear."
To be fair, a cheap meal like ramen was about all Genesis could afford in his current financial state. The shop clung to a densely packed street corner, flanked by a dozen or so other small restaurants. Most of them were the quick sort of joints, where you could drop in, sit at a counter and get lunch. Even still, despite there being so much competition, there was a fifteen minute wait to get a seat for noodles. Earthling cuisine was all the rage on Abbayor, and it had been for years. It wasn't just a fad.
After they sat down in the cramped booth, it was only a couple minutes more before food and drink was served. The xeno waitress brought two piping hot bowls of noodles--topped with all the fixings. Gen lifted the cop sticks, uncertain on how to use, fidgeting with them for a minute.
"It's strange that Earthlings eat soup with sticks," he muttered.
He remembered his mother's lessons and was able to start slurping up the curly strings, but not without a few mishaps along the way. After they scarfed down a decent portion of their food, Genesis decided to speak.
"Sly got you with a lucky shot," Genesis said, his voice grim. "I had no choice but to get out of there, or you would have died. I have no idea what became of Dr. Grey. He was injured during the battle. I--"
His expression sharpened with frustration. "I'd like to believe he alive still. I really do. I mean he's a smart guy, knows a lot. I'm sure that's of value to them, right?"
It was clear Gen was looking for validation. The notion that there was no way to rectify this wasn't easy for a heroic man like him.
"I have been digging up whatever info I can find about Dain, Sly, and that lizard lady... I couldn't find anything about her. But, Dain and Sly are pretty popular. Although, the sleazeball types like them aren't easily persuaded to talk."
He poked at his noodles with the chopsticks for a few seconds.
"Look Tora, I--I'm going after them. You did your part. I won't ask you to help me. You already risked a lot for someone you barely knew, almost lost your life. I don't want to live in a universe where guys like them are allowed to walk around and hurt others without repercussions. It makes me sick."

Tora nodded vigorously at the prospect of food, his stomach rumbling. Genesis tossed him a dynocap, and Tora grinned at the contents. Oh boy. A superhero get up. "If the kids start calling me 'The Ferocious Tiger Man' for this, I'm gonna shut down emotionally..." he grumbled as he awkwardly put the outfit on. Examining himself in the mirror he couldn't help but realize he didn't look quite as dashing, well groomed, or naturally heroic in the outfit as Gen. Tora was too unkempt. Khoshai would probably be excited by his new getup, though. He did look like a cliche superhero. Tora followed Gen into an elevator, making his way to the street. Genesis described his mother, having been born on Earth. She apparently loved ramen. Well! So did Tora! And he couldn't wait to try ramen so good it had travelled to space just to be eaten. "Ramen?! Let's hurry!" he exclaimed as they made their way into the restaurant. They were seated quickly, and the service as similarly fast. A heaping bowl of ramen was placed in front of Tora and the youthful martial artist wasted no time in devouring it wholeheartedly, listening intently as Genesis spoke. He was prone to finishing his food quickly, and ordering a second bowl. The ramen was rich and flavorful, but not too filling. The warmth was comforting. It reminded Tora of home. Which he was far away from, uncharacteristically. The Tiger was a bit of a hermit. When Genesis described their failure, and Sly's lucky shot, Tora growled in agitation. He had been too weak. And they didn't know if a man had died for his weakness. Genesis had to save him. He had been helpless. The chopsticks broke in Tora's hand and the Xeno waitress eyed him with confusion, coming over and topping off his glass of water. Genesis was going after them. He wasn't sure if Tora would want in. Out of his control, Tora's aura began to flare up- painfully. Mist and steam rose off of him, but he cried softly in pain and agitation. Then it subsided, as did some of the pain. "Gen..." he said, lowly. "I'm most definitely in. There's only one problem..." Tora gestured to the centre of his being, to his stomach where the largest pool of ki existed in the human body. Earlier, if Genesis had cared to notice, he would've seen what resembled an ornate brand on his gut. This mark represented the culmination of his own energy combined with his old master, the Tiger that shared his namesake. But down the center of it a large cut had formed, severing the bond in such a way that would harm both participants. Tora had been rendered unconscious too fast- and for too long-- to repair it. And he was suffering for it, as well as his master. "I'm hurting. I'm bound to a spirit through a mark you might've seen earlier when I was, uh, well... naked. It's been damaged irreparably and if I don't do something to fix it, I will be in agony for the rest of my life... I'm gonna have to do something really risky... I'll need your help, too." he said, teeth clenched. Now a few patrons were staring at him, but one of the waitresses had recognized him. She poured him a hot cup of green tea and left him a note, which read: "Tora! My little brother loves you! Feel better :-)" He glanced at it, smiled at the girl, then returned his gaze to Genesis. "Will you help me create my New Tiger Style?" the injured Earthling inquired, sipping on his now-cooled tea. It soothed him for a moment, and he awaited Genesis' response. "I know I failed before. "I'll help you however I can," Gen said.
His noodles were almost gone and he took a long drink of water. As tasty as they were, the broth they laid suspended in was rather salty, even with its dense flavor.
"You were a help during that battle, don't get me wrong. Like I said before, Sly got off a lucky shot. It happens to the best of us. Hell, half the time I didn't know where you were, that's how fast you were moving. It was astounding. You and your tiger spirit were able to put pressure on all three of our foes. Not an easy task. So, don't say stuff like that."
Gen was a fighter, but in the more of the traditional sense. He didn't practice a martial art, other than good ol' fashioned fisticuffs. He had learned how to focus his ki, hone it, and master it. He used that energy like a precision instrument, assailing his foes with just enough power necessary to incapacitate them. Stronger fighters could last awhile, ward off his blows even. Legume had been able to do so, but eventually Gen had gotten him. That was the gamble of his approach. Hit hard and fast, and hope they can't get away. Simple and straightforward, just like Gen tended to be personality wise.
"I mean, you seem like you know more about martial arts than me, so what did you have in mind?"

"I do need you, Gen. The thing is, I'm going to need to invent a completely new method of approaching combat. I don't have the raw power you have. All I have is finesse and-- most importantly-- guts!" Tora said as he finished his second bowl or ramen, the xeno girl waitress still smiling at him. She shot him his signature thumbs up, and he returned it, glowing for a moment at the attention. At least that was the same. Yeah, the more Tora moved around the more painful it felt. The special ki that a soul consisted of was shortcircuiting as a result of the damage the vessel had sustained. Tora's eyes began to glimmer with hope and pride as they locked with Genesis' own eyes. "You're a beast, Genesis. To put it simply the amount of power you're tossing around rather effortlessly is incredible. You're going to help me push my body beyond its' limitations. The only way you can help me create my new fighting style is to push me into a corner... I have a few theories on what I need to do to make my New Tiger Style as effective- if not more effective- than the original Tiger Style that I inherited and perfected. Maybe you can learn a thing or two about martial arts along the way..." With that, Tora stood to his feet. He was dead broke, as most of his zenni was uh... nonexistant. The Tiger School was many things. It was not lucrative. This one would be on Genesis. "Where is a good place to do this? We can't be breaking things, now can we?" he asked, laughing- painfully. The xeno girl approached the pair, smiling nervously. "Gentlemen? I'm gonna take care of this for you two. I want to. Anything for the Tiger of Earth!" she said, looking between the pair. Tora grinned at her, performing a few strange hand signs. He formed a piece of his ki-generated chitinous armor that his Wild Tiger State was made of in the shape of a small tiger, handing the figurine to the girl. "Thanks, hun. Give this to your brother! Tell him it's special- if he ever needs my help, have him break it. I'll sense it and come find him. No matter what. I never forget a favor, or a fan." he said, grinning. "Or a beautiful new friend!" Gen looked down at his hand, opening and closing it.
To put it simply the amount of power you're tossing around rather effortlessly is incredible.
Was it effortless? He never considered until now how different other people fought. Tora's martial art, his Tiger Style, as he called it was a whole different methodology. Gen used his ki like a wrecking ball and aimed it like a precision laser. He fought slower, more methodical than others. Before stepping off of Indigo Prime and into the universe at large, there wasn't a threat he couldn't deal with in a single punch. Typically, he had to hold back just to make sure no one got seriously hurt.
But, against Dain, Sly, and the lizard lady--he had given it everything. They survived his blows. To stop beings like them, he would need a hell of a lot more power. Or, he would would need to change the way he fought. To get smarter, wear them down and expose their weakness.
No, this wasn't just going to be Gen helping Tora learn. Gen himself could definitely figure out a thing or two as well. The prospect of expanding his capabilities, of learning something new brought a smirk to his lips.
Tora finished addressing a fan. Gen had also been on the live-streams, both on Galaxy News during his recovery efforts on Abbayor and for the Abbayor Open, a tournament where he fought Legume. It had been a good fight, and he had earned some adoration. Not learn as much as someone who fought in Shroomy's. That match was seen all across the galaxy, and by nearly everyone.
"Abbayor is a pretty well populated area. However, her northern reaches are frigid icy mountains. There's almost no one living up there."
Without saying a word, Gen kicked off the sidewalk and hurtled into the air, vanishing in a streak of blue. He had no doubt that Tora could keep up with him, so he didn't even bother going slow. It was full speed ahead.
The temperature dropped as they made their way north and Gen could feel ice tugging at his cheeks. His breath escaped in a frosty plume from his lips. Tora would probably be surprised that the suit Gen gave him kept him perfectly warm, as though he were wearing a big fur-lined jacket. The thing was graded to protect against a hard vacuum anyway.
Gen found a massive glacier jutting out between two jagged peaks. He slowed and floated down, landing atop the icy field. The snow was deep here, to his knees.
"You know, I fought Legume," Gen said as he marched through the mounds, surveying the area around them to ensure there really wasn't anyone or anything of value closeby. "He was your partner in Shroomy's right? That was a tough match, he almost won. But, I got lucky I guess. There are so many strong fighters out there. I never dreamed of meeting people that could go toe to toe with me, back when I lived on Indigo Prime."
He cracked his neck and stretched both of his arms. Gen wasn't much for fighting stances, at least not in the traditional sense. To show he was ready, he simply clenched one fist, his knuckles loosing an audible pop.

Genesis spoke of the cold icy mountains of Abbayor, and the Tiger of Earth rose up from his seat. Genesis dissappeared, heading towards their destination with insane speeds- that Tora matched with a grin. At least he could keep up there- when this guy started pumping out attacks though, Tora was worried. He hadn't gotten the hang out his body since his soul-damaging injury. The cold air would've bit against his skin had he not been encased in the suit that Genesis had gifted him. Its protection probably wouldn't last. This was going to get serious soon. If Genesis had fought Legume, Tora was impressed. Leg had a unique fighting style, similar to his own. Once they had fought some time ago, both against each other and together upon separate occasion. If Tora had been fighting him today, he wouldn't be nervous. But Genesis was in a whole different league. The fact that Genesis thought Tora- who the noble fighter had to save- was worth all this trouble made Tora happy to have met him. "I've never been to Indigo Prime! You'll have to take me someday, friend!" he exclaimed, dropping into his fighting stance. Shakily, steamy mist began rising off of his frame. However, it felt... caustic. It hurt. But it was time to push through it, and force the strength out of his own body. After a few strange motions with his hands, Tora's hand glowed with an ambient blue light. Then he struck the spot on his gut where the mark had formed, branding a new few sigils into it. The ki tore through the suit that Genesis had given him, revealing just the newfound mark. Whereas before it was indistinguishable, it appeared Tora had changed it. Right beneath the center of his rib cage was a small, but ornate tattoo of a tiger's face, roaring. The tiger itself looked more vicious, more intense- more feral and bestial than a tiger ought to. With that, he re-entered his fighting stance, beginning to speak: "Today I'm going to show you how an old friend of mine used to fight... bear in mind he had a lot more power than I do, but I'll show you the enduring nature of my newly invented Demon Tiger Mist! This is a technique inspired by the greatest battle I've ever fought!" With that, an unbelievable aura burst around Tora, quite literally roaring into existance. A strange mist began to stretch outwards from his frame rather rapidly reaching incredible distances as the Tiger Style Master literally invented a new technique on the fly. The fog stretched miles now, surrounding the mountainous terrain and skewing vision. It was hard to even see the snowfall now. Meanwhile, Tora had entered his Wild Tiger State, his familiar armor materializing over his jumpsuit. Tora suspected Genesis would wait for him to spring into action as the aura around him took shape. It reached over fourty feet in height, and quite literally resembled a massive tiger. Its claws dug into the frostbitten tundra as it seemed to level its gaze to lock onto the other fighter. Suddenly, without Tora moving an inch, dozens of ki-generated claws, fully resembling that of a tiger's would form around Genesis, arcing towards the man. "How about my Tracking Tiger Claw?" he laughed out. All the while his aura swirled around him-- this auric manipulation technique had been inspired by the Ex-Demon King Lute. Tora just utilized the ki generated by the soul he was merged with to recreate something similar to his living aura, albeit with different properties. After all, the soul of a Demon King with that much power is a different quality than that of a Human martial artist. Still, Tora's display was impressive. He had only theorized this technique in the past. Before the drawbacks seemed like too much... Now he'd have to wait and see. He didn't have any choice. Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
Genesis waved a hand through the air, his fingers trailing through the mist. It acted and behaved like normal mist, but he could feel Tora's ki within it. Genesis used his ki in a very specific way. The way others wielded it was so creative and it often amazed him.
And then the giant tiger, made of pure aura appeared. Both of Genesis's eyes went wide with awe at its majesty.
"Amazing," he whispered.
Tora had learned this technique from someone he considered a friend. He wondered just what kind of people the Earthling hung around, if they did stuff like this.
Not that there was a whole lot of time to think about it. Claws of pure energy materialized and raked at him. Genesis raised his guard, the constructs scrabbling against his skin. But, striking Genesis was like scratching at steel, and they barely left a mark.
Without warning or indication, Genesis disappeared. His sudden movement revealed itself when he flickered back into view right in front of Tora. Reaching out he simply attempted to flick his new found ally in the forehead. Except, the amount of power behind the little gesture was titanic and resonated with a loud thunderclap.

Right off the bat, Tora would be forced to play defensively. It was exactly as he anticipated when fighting Genesis. Phasing into view in front of the martial artist, he aimed a superpowered flick at Tora's head. The Martial Artist of old would've been capable of dodging that attack rather effortlessly- the technique he was forced into using now took all of his focus. Still, he mustered up some speed of his own and managed to dissipate from existance, appearing to Genesis' left. A singular claw would come crashing down from above the fighter, icy ki freezing the already cold air to even more extreme temperatures. Then Tora would close in with his incredible hand-to-hand abilities, putting the pressure on his familiar ki-infused slashes. However, at the end of his combination attack and just as he disengaged a ki-generated claw stretched from behind Tora, trying to catch Genesis off guard. The Tiger of Earth felt intimidated- he wasn't entirely sure if he was going to be able to beat the other fighter in this scenario. His New Tiger Style wasn't suited for foes like this. He got ready to take some real damage. Genesis was no joke. That flick could've nearly knocked him out of the fight. It probably would've obliterated one of the mountains they were fighting near. Tora was now even more interested in Genesis' homeworld. What life had led him to such... Power. Unparalleled in this world. Tora felt glad that they had met on good terms. Genesis would be a fiercesome foe. He almost felt bad for Dain and Sly. Almost. If they weren't total assholes. "Gotta be careful with you, huh big guy?" The frigid mist swirled as the claw from above crashed down on Genesis. He stopped it with his palm, but the strike carved out a huge divot in the top of the hardpacked snow and ice, sending loose slush spraying in every direction. He managed to move and shift with the rapid slashes, blocking and interjecting where he could to mitigate them. Still, a single bloody line opened up on his forearm, shearing straight through the protective material of his suit.
Genesis turned and grabbed the claw that came from behind out of mid air. With the flick of his wrist, he sent if flying in the opposite direction. It crashed against the mountain of ice, sending a rippling cascade of snow roaring into the pit that had formed around the two.
Genesis stomped his feet, creating a snaking fissure beneath him and dropped into it. As he fell between two slabs of ice, he decided to drill sideways into the glacier the hear of the glacier, leaving behind a trail of steam. Beneath the colossal mass now, he gritted his teeth and pushed up with everything he had.
Half of the gargantuan glacier between two mountains shifted. With a deafening rumble it splintered as it was lifted into the air. It would look as though Genesis was lifting an island of glistening blue with nothing more than his bare hands.
Because he was.
Floating above Tora now, he simply let go--trying to drop it on his new found ally. Tora was fast, but was he fast enough to out run something as big as that?
Gen wanted to find out.

Genesis' raw strength left him both an impressive force offensively and gave him an incredible defensive power. He managed to shrug off the majority of Tora's attacks rather effortlessly- just as the Martial Artist anticipated. However, Tora did not anticipate Genesis' counterattack. If it could even be called that. The man hefted a frozen chunk of ice the size of Tora's island and dangled it directly above the Tiger of Earth. The Earthling knew he had to think fast as Genesis dropped the hunk of ice literally down on top of him. Focusing ki into his claws and hardening his aura above him, the Tiger formed a sort of drill as he leapt, spinning at such intense speeds his form was lost. He cleaved through the ice, following through it as he split the thing in half, aiming the rapid spin attack directly at Genesis' frame. Just as he emerged through the other side, he used ki-constructed claws to propel him further, increasing the speed and velocity of the ki infused spin-attack. All the while, Tora pumped ki into his iron skin technique, hardening his muscles to be able to withstand Genesis' incredible strength- at least temporarily. That would be the only way to get some longevity in this match. Tora was genuinely nervous to take on of his blows head on, even with his Iron Skin. Normal rules didn't seem to apply to Genesis. His strength was actually unparalleled. As well as his kindness, apparently. Tora had felt Genesis overwhelming strength in the fight against Dain and his ragtag group of evil assholes. That strength wasn't being used to pressure Tora right now. No, Gen seemed to want to have a good old fashioned beatdown instead. Tora liked his style. Quite a bit, actually. The big guy was charming and very powerful. They also had complementary fighting styles. This was a great learning experience for the Tiger. "You just had to throw a whole island at me, huh?" he wondered aloud as he attacked. Tora had never fought such a powerful destructive force before in his life. Tora drilled into Genesis like bullet shot from a rifle, spinning and slashing. Sparks lit up the air between them, spraying outward. They were a result of tiny katchin fibers inside of both of their Stellar Defense Force uniform being flung away at insane speed. After the rotational attack was finished, Gen's forearms had been stripped of the protective fabric, and his flesh was covered in friction burns.
"I had a feeling you would be able to handle it. But, had to make sure my theory was correct," Gen said, a half-smirk crossing his lips.
Shards of ice tumbled and crashed against the remnants of the glacier below. The air was filled with the mist still and with it deep chill. Gen flickered from sight, landing atop the barren rock ridge of the closest mountain. Tora was above him still, and he locked eyes with his new friend for a long moment.
Both began to narrow as he took measure of Tora. Gen's mind worked through blazing thought, calculating the right amount of force and distance needed to make this work.
He crouched and balled his fist, letting it drop below his knee.
And then he swung upwards, rising up to the balls of his feet. As his arm reached its fullest extension an enormous knot of rippling invisible escaped his knuckles. It came with an immense suction, creating a vacuum in its wake. The ice in the air was pulverized to gaseous steam. The sky itself split in twain for the briefest of seconds before air came rushing back in with an enormous thunderclap.
And, it would hurt like a son of a bitch.

The moment of eye contact before Genesis' attack left Tora nervous. When a concussive blow from the fighter slammed into him, produced from a shockwave of ki, Tora was sent hurtling backwards a few dozen feet, the force of the blast literally blowing a few chunks of his armor off. Tora laughed as he regained his bearings, flabbergasted. The force of his punch had been enough to harm him from a distance. Tora was particularly thankful for his Iron Skin technique in moments like this. The martial artist was not confident in his ability to survive without it. Nor was he confident in any counterattack of his being particularly effective. Genesis had proven himself more than capable of defending himself against Tora's attacks with pure physical strength. Tora focused the misty ki that had gathered around Genesis, claws forming and stretching towards the superhuman individual. They would attempt to latch onto Genesis' arms and legs as Tora built up ki himself. Then the martial artist would rocket forward, aiming a tremendous punch at the midsection of the (hopefully) restrained fighter. Tora at least wanted to give Gen a run for his money. He had a reputation to uphold, after all. Hopefully Tora's ingenuity while fighting would be enough to best his opponent. Still, he wasn't so sure. This fight had been a rough ride already. Tora being able to create phantom claws out of thin air was a hard to deal with. That meant that the clever Earthling could attack from all around Gen, without warning. Gen relied only his keen senses and fighting instinct to deflect the scrabbling constructs
Even so, he was getting battered around. Right now it wasn't that big of a deal, but he could see it becoming a problem over the course of the fight. He had been putting the pressure on Tora, but if he didn't land a solid blow soon--things would get troublesome. That just meant he needed to redouble his efforts He pushed his own ki out of his body in a single invisible burst, casting the mist back and shattering the claws for a brief second.
It would converge again, and he would be within striking range once more. But, he had a few seconds to collect himself and go for his counter assault.
There was no secret, no special ingredient to what Gen did. He kept it simple. He hit things... really hard.
Tora would see Gen shift and disappear. Before the blink of an eye later, he would appear right in front of him with his fist cocked. Gen sent the mother of all right hooks straight for his chin.

Gen shattered his ethereal claws and dispersed his Demon Tiger Mist with another burst of concussive ki. Then he came for Tora, with a straightforward counterattack. The Tiger of Earth grinned at his opponent, his eyes glowing with determination. It was in this moment Tora realized something. They were opposites. In fighting styles, mannerisms, even lifestyles. Genesis was a straight shooter. Go for the problem, solve it. Punch it real hard if you have to. Tora was a bit more... difficult. He imagined the struggle he had gone through to attain his current level of strength, and recalled the countless hours of training. Trials and tribulations. From what he understood about Genesis, most of his power came naturally. And all of that natural, unbelievable power was aimed right at Tora's armored jaw. With a thunderous crash Genesis' attack landed, shattering all the chitinous armour on his face, sending the Tiger flying towards a thin mountain top at speeds even the martial artist himself would struggle to recreate. But he went with it, utilizing his Iron Skin technique at the last moment to increase his durability to inhuman levels. And as he approached the thin but strong peak of the mountain, a clawed hand stretched strategically out from Tora's aura, grabbing onto the top of it. He spin rapidly around the top of the mountain, bringing the young Tiger Style master hurtling back towards Genesis with the same incredible speed, a punch of his own aimed for the man's jaw. Genesis was simple. Tora was flashy. That was one of the core tenets of the Tiger School, after all. He had just decided on that notion here, on the spot. Tora went flying...
And then returned to sender at insane speeds. Both of Gen's eyes went wide and he bucked up, swinging his hand out in front of him just in time. He caught Tora's punch and the collision caused an enormous pressure wave to burst forth from them. The sky cracked with thunder. The remnants of the shattered glacier below were pulverized into an icy slush and flung miles in every direction.
Floating there, electrical ki sparked and sputtered between the two warriors. Gen's entire arm rattled with pain, but he had stopped Tora No Seishin in his tracks.
"Hr--"
After a deep breath, he felt himself drifting backward. Despite all of his colossal might, Tora still had enough gusto to move him. It was amazing. Tora was leagues stronger than his power signature indicated, or even his appearance let on.
Gen flung finally hand back and then shifted his stance, whipping his own leg up high, above the head. He then he brought it back down like a a woodchopper felling a log, the heel the point of impact. The blow would potentially crash into Tora's shoulder and spike him down into the half melted ice pit below.

Tora didn't feel Genesis' kick land on his upper back until he slammed down into the frozen earth, ice and snow from the landscape building up along the trail his skidding body left. His muscles ached and creaked as he struggled to bring himself to a grinding halt, his Iron Skin technique pushing dislocated limbs and broken bones back into place. His shoulder where Genesis' had struck had been damaged heavily. The youth was not winning so far. This wouldn't last much longer. He couldn't even get Genesis' strength to waver. The martial artist sighed, regaining his composure as his aura began rising off of him slowly. Tora was burning through his stamina very quickly and exhaustion could potentially afflict him before the beating really set in. On top of that? Tora had pushed his Iron Skin technique to its utmost limitations. His body would start to fail if he wasn't careful. Humans did have limits. Which once again made Tora realize how inhuman Genesis really was, despite his empathetic nature and kind disposition. He wasn't the only one, though. Feral strength filled Tora no Seishin as he phased from view, appearing in front of Gen, unleashing a volley of strikes as a claw crept up from beneath the fighter to catch him off guard. Tora was trying to figure -something- out to use against the big guy. It wasn't very easy. Not at all. Tracker Dmg Null halved 28 dmg to 14, reduced to 9 via armor and indomitable. Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
Tora's tiger claws raked against Gen's scorched and tattered forearms. His suit had been peeled and melted away from earlier attacks. Now the sharp nails were digging into nothing more than raw flesh. Still, they didn't penetrate him. Gen managed to interject his arms using the right timing to award and deflect Tora's hands away. He could see the human warrior wearing down. It just made him wonder how long it would take before he reached his wall.
Gen wasn't at his wall yet, nor was he anywhere close. Tora had asked for help with his new fighting style. Even though he didn't like the idea of hurting his new friend, Gen wasn't the type to disrespect his wishes either. He would press on and see just how far he could push Tora, juist how much he could teach the warrior.
The claws passed through thin air and Gen was gone, the mist swirling where he once floated.
Behind Tora now, he shot forward like a bullet--leading with the hard part of his forehead. He would turn himself in the air, as well, to give himself torque and spin like rifling. And he would drill into Tora's back with crushing force.

This was bad. Genesis was practically swatting away Tora's best efforts. Gen's indomitable strength and endless resolve was apparent, the young martial artist struggling to keep his pace during this fight. Without warning, Genesis materialized behind him after deftly defending himself, Tora being struck by the a headbutt of incredible velocity. Just before it hit, however, Tora materialized a claw behind the fighter. It would grab at Genesis' leg and dig in, yanking him back, partially decreasing the force with which Gen slammed into the Tiger of Earth's exposed spine. The fighter howled in pain, and grunted as he spun around, catching himself in the palm of a giant claw he materialized beneath him. Tora stood to his feet, shakily, breathing heavily through broken ribs. Genesis was a wrecking ball. If this was a fight for survival, Tora would be dead. That was the harsh reality of this battle. The Tiger Style martial artist focused his energy once more, ki rising off of him with a misty quality. Tora didn't want to get close again for a moment. Brawling with the brutish hero was not good. Usually Tora held the upper-hand in close quarters combat, but Genesis' overwhelming strength left him... Desperate. He had to be intuitive with his counterattack. Tora extended his middle finger and pointer finger, leveling them pointed at his chin and sitting at his chest. The misty aura around him focused into the palm of his hand, swirling around Tora no Seishin as a flurry of materialized claws put the pressure on Genesis, hopefully distracting him long enough for Tora to gather enough ki for this next move. A second passed, and it was time. He clenched his hand into a fist and dissappeared, leveling himself right above Genesis' as his claws continued their assault. Then Tora slammed into the ground as his brought his own clawed hand arcing downwards, slashing at Genesis with a giant streak of brilliant blueish-white ki. "Gen! I'm really outclassed here, aren't I?" he laughed out, desperate for his attack to land with some success. This was the difference between skill and power, it seemed. Tora and Genesis represented two different sides of fighting. Tracker 11 direct dmg taken from clash. DMG: 11, taken to toughness.
