Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
Tora was quick and clever as ever. Gen did things in the most basic and simple way, but with the most force he could muster. That left him a bit vulnerable to warriors who were clever or elusive. Despite having driven Tora back several times already, the experienced fighter was proving his worth.
Claws rained down. Genesis was overwhelmed. Lines of red opened up on his chest as the misty aura sheared straight through his uniform with relative ease. Crimson showed, from a trio of deep gashes. He grunted as he used a concussive pulse of ki to dissipate the claws before they could rend him again.
Gen put a finger to his chest wounds, looking at his own blood for a long second, staring back at Tora.
"I wouldn't say that my friend. You can hold your own."
The damn mist was everywhere. Tora was able to attack him with little warning or sign. Gen needed to deal with that, especially if he wanted to keep his lead. He flew high into the air and began to rotate. The mist swirled around him as he quickly accelerated to speeds and formed a whirlwind around him.
The suction gathered the mist up in droves. It swarmed and curled into a dense funnel. And then he stopped and brought both of his hands together with an almighty clap. All of it, the burst of air pressure, the rolling blade of invisible ki, and the gathered mist went flying down at Tora with crushing force.

Genesis actually had been injured in their last exchange, Tora drawing blood. The fighter applauded Tora's efforts, saying that Tora could hold his own. The Tiger of Earth couldn't help but grin at the compliment. His grin slowly turned into an expression of frustration. Genesis had realized Tora's advantage. The mist allowed his attacks to be unpredictable. If Gen wanted to deal with Tora, first there was the issue of the mist. With an intense swirling motion, the heroic fighter funneled Tora's mist upwards with an incredible suction. Then a wall of concussive ki mixed with his own auric energy came at him like a wall. It threatened to crush him like an anvil from one of Khoshai's childish cartoons. Except it would result in his bones being turned to dust, and he wouldn't just bounce back. Tora gathered up his reserves of ki and hunkered down, the giant tiger forming around him and nestling over him. The concussive force slammed into the auric tiger, but it shielded Tora no Seishin from the brunt of the assault. Still, the force of the blast threatened to break his bones and pushed him down several miles deep into a newly formed crater. Tora rose from the rubble, brushing off dirt and refuse. Then he sprung into action, targeting Genesis' vital points with rapid fire claw strikes. His mist hadn't even had time to reform in the blur of combat that had just ensued. Gen had been dealing with Tora's claw strikes and was starting to get a feel for the pattern of attack. He lashed out with his open palm or fist while the claws were in mid arc, stopping or dispersing them right before the point of impact. The truth was, Tora was a good striker. His blows were precise and savage. But, by relying on the slashing motion, he made his attacks predictable. Gen had practiced this entire time trying to defend against them, now it was paying off.
Tora would need to change his strategy if he wanted to defeat the heroic fighter.
Sun shone down on them, its rays warming the icy fields. Not that much was left of them. This little sparring match had scarred the landscape considerably. It was a good thing no one lived out here. Flakes of snow swirled and rifted past Genesis as he he caught the final claw strike in between his index finger and thumb, holding it there.
"My father said I was gifted with abnormal strength. But, I learning to hone it and use it effectively--I spent most of my life doing that. I still am not where I want to be. I still have room to improve too."
A smile crossed his lips.
"Let's never stop improving together, you and I!"
And then he was gone. Above Tora, Gen came crashing down with both of his fists balled together. He attempted to spike the tiger warrior into the ground like a volleyball--a hammer blow to the back of the skull.

Genesis had been granted a strength that Tora found incredibly challenging to counter. In his current repertoire of skills he had nothing that could counter his opponents' unstoppable force. The martial artists body was groaning, aching. He struggled to upkeep his balance and his transformation. The damage to him even outweighed his drained stamina. Gen wanted them to keep improving. Together. As if they were equals. Tora liked the notion-- something he had done had earned the stronger fighter's respect. Tora no Seishin didn't want to lose that respect. Genesis materialized behind him with intense speed, landing a devastating blow to the back of Tora's skull. He was sent spinning head over heels, digging into the frozen tundra as he struggled to regain his equilibrium. This was getting rougher and rougher as they kept going at it. Tora was running out of options to protect himself. Yet, Genesis' words inspired him. His numbed the pain in his body with an incomporable focus, as the mist began to return towards Tora. His body didn't want to move. He'd have to make it. The giant tiger reformed above Tora, this time looking very... different. Whereas before it had been a tiger in a traditional sense, now stood a fifty foot tall tiger-man, clad in a brilliant white armor, his ethereal visage flickering like a flame. "Old man..." he said, wiping blood off the back of his head. "Hurl me at that big guy in the tight outfit, okay?" With that, the bipedal tiger hefted Tora into the palm of its hand, gripping him tightly. Then, with breakneck speeds, the Tiger Spirit flung the young martial artist towards Genesis, the Tiger Style Fighter spinning like earlier when he had split the icey island in two. This time the velocity and speed was amped up even higher, Tora hoping it would shatter the nearly invulnerable fighter's defense. "I couldn't agree with you more! Let's push ourselves!!!" he exclaimed in response to Genesis' challenge to continue their training. Tracker 48 dmg from super, reduced to 43 w indomitable and battle armor. DMG: 43 total. Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
Tora collided with Genesis with a resounding crack.
A bubble of pressure rippled away from the two. Any moisture or clouds in the sky above or around them were turned to steam in an instant. Gen floated there, teeth gritted. His hand was on Tora's forehead. He had stopped him a second before impact, and now held him dead in mid air. Sparks of electrical ki snapped and curled around the two warriors. The collision had sent a wave of pain through his shoulder and he let go, drifting back a few feet.
Beads of sweat clung to his brow. Tora proved time and time again to be tougher than Gen ever imagined. Even with all almighty strength, the two were toe to toe. That said a lot about Tora's willpower.
He didn't go anywhere, instead surging back forward. He swung his fist around to deliver the mother of all right hooks. Invisible ki rippled and rolled off the edges of his knuckles. He roared, a sound both defiant and excited.
The blow would be delivered right into Tora's midsection. Gen hoped to fold the fighter and knock the wind out of him. If he could slow Tora down for a second, he may have a chance to knock him out of the spar.
Easier said than done though.

As they engaged in close quarters combat, Tora felt Genesis' fist slam into his midsection. At the last second his aura sprung to life, functioning as a buffer for the kinetic energy of the strike. It shattered like glass from the force of the impact, but Tora suspected it could've been much worse. His ribs could've probably turned to mush from that one. The shattered pieces of Tora's mist-like aura began swirling around Genesis' fist as it implanted itself in his midsection, the wispy tendrils of it latching onto him and digging into his flesh as Tora was sent flying backwards, only to stop with a jerking motion. He had used his ki constructed structure as a sort of energy rope, the elasticity of it pulling Tora back forward at intense speeds once again. There, Tora no Seishin aimed his fist at Genesis' midsection, hoping he could at the very least return the favor for the last blow. Tora knew he was gonna drop. And soon. Pain was overwhelming him and he was surviving essentially solely off adrenaline and his own skill and wit. One thing had been made clear. Tora wasn't strong enough. His training had to double, no, redouble if he wanted it to be fruitful. That was an absolute. Tracker 42 dmg from super, reduced to 24 w sonic sway, reduced to 19 w/ indomitable and battle armor. DMG: 19 total. Tora was hurled backward and as he did, he surged back at Gen with his fist outstretched.
Admittedly, Gen was beginning to feel gassed, for all his efforts. Despite his immense strength, he still had to put forth the effort to use it. Moving glaciers and punching with the force to crush small moons was no simple feat. It required a vast consumption of power, even if Gen was good at measuring and wielding the amounts necessary. Fighting a foe like Tora required patience and precision. The martial artist had trained his entire life, mastering the art of manipulating his aura. The even the best of Gen's blows hadn't been able to fully break through it.
It was a waiting game. Would Gen get tired before Tora finally yielded. He didn't know.
The punch struck him dead in the chet, but he flexed his pectoral right before impact. Tora would feel as though he just hit a block of katchin. Gen smiled and let himself drift back, gravity carrying him down. He landed atop a heap of broken ice, kicking up a huge plume of snow and frost as he landed.
He lingered there for a moment, catching his breath and planning his next attack. There wasn't much for him to plan. He just needed to keep pushing the offensive.
"If I keep fighting you, I feel bad for the bad guys. They'll never be able to stop me."
Whoosh.
With insane speed Gen arrived in front of Tora, leg outstretched. He went for a simple front kick, angling himself to send Tora skipping across a frozen lake nearby, if it did its full damage. It was a weak attack, all things considered, but he had needed the small break to recover. His next blow would be back at full power.

Tora felt a few of his bones break from the inpact against Gen's chest, and to be frank he didn't have the ability to mend the injury. He withdrew from engaging him as Genesis also disengaged, the heroic fighter drifting down towards the Abbayor's icey surface. Then he reappeared. Tora, somehow, read his movement and phased to the fighters side, aiming a punch at his kidney with his good hand. Then, from above and below Genesis, two giant claws attempted to clap together. Their goal? To crush Gen. Tora knew it wouldn't really work. Somehow the brutish fighter would power through his onslaught, more than likely countering it with even greater strength than Tora could muster. But the planning phase of the fight was over. Now it was based upon who had superior strength and fighting instinct. They understood the intricacies of each others fighting style at this point. Now the better fighter would win. There was no doubt about that. Unfortunately, Tora didn't feel like he was the one really on the offensive. That usually dictated who the winner was in a fight like this. Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
The kidney punch hurt, like a bitch. Even with Gen's protective suit and his dense muscle mass there to stop it, the pain still rolled throughout his body. He yelped, for the first time in the fight, face twisting into a pained grimace.
Boom!
The crushing aura claws slammed into Genesis. He loosed a low grunt, both from pain and exhaustion. And then slowly, the claws began to part to reveal him pushing them with nothing more than his forearms and brute strength.
"I'm not-"
He held them out to both sides for a long moment, staring at Tora with his radiant blue eyes. Flecks of ethereal ki began to rise up out of his non-existence aura, each one a hint at raw godly power inside of him. Both of his lips peeled back into a grin and then he shoved the big claws away, both shuddering and dispersing from the force of the dismissal.
"Giving..."
He clenched his knuckles so hard they made an audible pop. And then he simply threw himself at Tora. Snow swirled around him, the air vibrating and humming with raw unrestrained ferocity.
"Up..."
Leveling his fist, he fired it off, attempting to clobber the Tiger School master across the chin.
"That easy!"
The blow came with it a thunderclap and hurricane force winds. If the blow didn't collide with Tora directly, perhaps the raw shockwave that burst outward from it would.

Tora, for a brief moment, thought he may be successful in his attack. His ki-generated claws threatened to crush Genesis, but just as they seemed to envelop his physical frame he managed to somehow overpower the attack. It was inhuman, and utterly overwhelming to witness.
For a moment the disciplined fighter waivered. How strong was he? And he kept...
Improving. Genesis had not peaked whatsoever, his physical strength seemingly boundless. His potential was, perhaps, more infinite. In his pondering of the source of Genesis strength, he was caught off guard.
And Genesis' stare of determination shook Tora to his soul. The fighter had never been humbled by another warrior before- he had always been the type to push stronger fighters to their limitations. Part of Tora made him wonder if he even had really forced Genesis to fight hard...
Snapped back to reality by the snap of Gen's muscled fist, Tora failed to throw up a guard in time. A tremendous punch struck Tora's jaw and the fighter instantly faded to black. In his unconscious state he was sent hurtling back at breakneck speeds, slamming into the icy tundra and down, down into frozen water.
The shock of the cold returned him to consciousness, but he couldn't regather the strength to return to the surface. He had reverted from his Wild Tiger State and in the moment of losing consciousness his Iron Skin Technique had worn off and his many wounds had opened up and on top of that his broken bones had shifted back to their destroyed state.
Tora wanted to laugh. If Genesis didn't save him, he would die. All because he had been actually intimidated by the other fighter. His own Earthly limitations were made apparent in that moment.
He was still a man.
It was like Genesis had ascended beyond that level.

Galactic Avenger TAGS: Tora
The frozen lake beneath the tundra erupted as Genesis emerged, clutching the bloodied Tora in his arms. Now that the intensity of their match was over, Gen couldn't help but noticed the deep chill that had set into him. HIs protective suit did wonders to shield him, but not without some sort of helmet or mask to seal off his head. It also didn't help that his suit was badly damaged.
Teeth chattering he chuckled as he landed on the rim of frozen shards, his feet crunching down hard.
"I hope I was able to help out with your fighting style after all. Because you look almost as bad as you did after fighting Dain and his friends. We better get you somewhere safe, where you can rest and heal. Because, to be honest, I don't have enough money for another healing tank session."
Gen managed a weak smile at his new friend. It sucked, but that was life. He hoped to get a nice salary coming in soon, where he didn't have to worry so much about finances. Being broke was a depressing notion.
He decided to take Tora back to his ship. It was hell a lot warmer, further south, and within the confines of the sprawling metropolis. He had a first aid kit, which had some bio-gel and painkillers.
Once his friend was settled in and patched up, he jumped in the shower.
Clad in casual clothing, a sweatshirt and some slacks, he jumped in the pilot seat and fired the ship up.
"Guess I'll take you home, for now. I'll investigate our enemies some more and let you know what I figure out. Once I have a good opportunity, we can strike."
