Pitiful. This is what happens when he decided to venture away from the gruesome, shady underbelly of Space Vegas' fight clubs. The Frost Demon Lieutenant desired combat, and a test of his newfound skills, a proper conduit for him to channel his demonic energy into. His original plan was to return to the criminal laden fight clubs of Space Vegas, where he normally went for his cage fights. However, he had heard of the growing popularity of "noble combat" on Ferusalem, an...interesting planet seemingly stuck in a pre space age time frame. Regardless, the planet was known for its' flashy tournaments exhibiting champions of great strength and skill. So, why not? Plotting a course for the independent planet in the East Quadrant, the Dread Spectre raced towards the planet. It didn't take long to discover that "noble combat" truly meant a fuckton of rules that existed for no fucking logical reason, but somehow made sense to the general populace. Perhaps it was just the conflict of culture, for Kamui was much more accustomed to the "no holds barred" brutal gladiator style combat that usually ended in someone's head being ripped off. This was....different. First, he required a weapon. Kamui couldn't remember the last time he used a weapon in combat, probably when he fought Vile in the Badlands, all those months ago. Luckily, he always kept a few within....reach. Summoning a collection of five short swords, Kamui selected the one that looked the least....complicated looking (the top sword), a brilliant short sword with a complete onyx black color scheme, the sword was perfectly balanced to fit Kamui's build and strength level, and was crafted of a metal specified for Ki Users, in which the weapon's hardness was determined by the user's power, in which Ki can freely flow into the blade to enhance it's natural properties. Hefting the weapon over his right shoulder, Kamui soon found himself entering the competition under the alias "The Dread Spectre", a completely unoriginal name that he essentially stole from his own ship and tacked as his own super cool battle name for this competition. However, none of this was the pitiful part. The pitiful part was all the challengers he went up again. Kamui was used to fighting people well below his strength in pure fighting power. At his level of strength, it was to be expected. However, there were many fighters who proved that mere power level meant little when it came to what you did with the strength you had. However, each challenger he faced so far seemed more interested in the theatrics of battle then the actual act of fighting and outplaying his opponent. They certainly talked a good game, and made a show out of each attack they executed, the flashy lights of their aura making for a wonderful firework show. However, when it came to actual talent, that was where these warriors fell short, and where the Frost Demon truly reigned supreme. One match after another, his enemies fell before him, often in a single blow, or in a series of blows. He would allow for a good show, however, to drum up the reaction of the crowds. However, they paid for a show, not a bloodbath. He would allow his foes to gain a sense of accomplishment as they made the Frost Demon prance about the battlefield, with Kamui pretending as if his chosen opponent actually was doing something of worth. Then finally, after several minutes of dodging and allowing blows to come into contact with select parts of his Bio Armor, Kamui would shoot forward with the speed of a rocket, impaling his opponent in the gut. And then he rinsed and repeated, all his way to the Semi-Finals. When he was paired with a surprisingly aloof Konatsian Mage, a trait which was much in demand among the eccentric, yet talent-less brutes who made up the masses of the tournament's contestants. Yet, apparently this Mage was the reigning champion for this village's Colosseum. So perhaps...he would be an interesting one after all. Not even close. He was a better opponent, for the Mage wielded a plethora of magic performance enhancing spells along with his seven swords (one in hand, six levitating in air, attacking independently), but he was not an impressive opponen. For once more Kamui toyed with his opponent, weaving through his foe's assaults as if it were child play before striking his foe with a series of blows, spreading his foe's blood across the sands just as he did the rest. He never killed an opponent, but made sure they had a nice series of wounds to show for their failure. Lastly, came the final battle. Kamui, having taken the entire tournament by storm as the midnight black five foot four Frost Demon who singlehandedly took out every combatant that had the balls to face him in single combat, was now supposed to face the final opponent of this noble tournament. Nickel Gallius, King of Ferusalem, and most possibly the strongest native on this planet. Allowing himself a small smile, Kamui spread his arms out in front of him, his bloodstained onyx sword held in his right hand as his aura exploded out in front of him, a magenta colored light flaring around him. Gallius always remembered the Tournaments of his homeworld so fondly. The colorful costumes which made Knights seem larger than life Demigods, the spectacular fights and intriguing feuds. He sat upon a large wooden chair overlooking the arena, his Court Mage/Advisor to his right and remaining court members to his left. Gallius had enjoyed this newcomers prowess in fighting, even if he lacked any true nuisance with a sword. Nay, he relied much to heavily on raw strength against these lesser competitors. The man was close to being thrown out after actually stabbing the first man he fought, drawing blood was strictly forbidden in a tournament. But Gallius allowed it to slide, so long as he killed no man there was no need to remove him. Besides these posh “Knights” could use a good stab to the gut. None of them had experienced true battle like most in the Knights Cordis. At least this one didn’t tout himself as a Knight. As the last man fell, the Knight King stood from his wooden throne, hand upon the hilt at his side. He hopped off the balcony and into the arena against the wishes of his fellow advisors. According to them this foe was stronger than Gallius, losing this tournament could cause people to lose faith in their King. No, they would lose faith if he was a coward. He would nod to the Frost Demon out of respect before lifting his hand up and forming a Halberd. “Ye are a worthy fyter. Indeed, let us begyn” Gallius trotted forward with the point of his Halberd aimed directly at his opponent. Upon closing in he would swipe up and suddenly pull down in an attempt to hook the man. After the barrage he would release the Halberd and summon a dagger, attempting to repeatedly shank the demon. So, this was the King.
When it came to appearances, at least, the King served to satisfy his expectations. Clad in midnight black armor, he was certainly a sight to see. Black suited the Knight well, Kamui should know. After all, his skin color was....well, you get the point.
For a brief moment, Kamui felt a sense of déjà vu when the King spoke to him, referring to Kamui as a "worthy fighter" in his strange dialect of galactic basic. It reminded him vaguely of someone, although he could not put a finger on exactly who. Plus, there was the added difficulty of the metallic ring to the man's voice, for he was speaking through a helmet.
As much as he would've liked to continue harping on the strange sense of familiarity he felt, Gallius wouldn't allow him to enjoy such a luxury. As Gallius charged forward, Kamui felt himself falling on the defensive. It was natural that the man would be some form of weapons master, granted this was his planet, and the rules of the tournament seemed to reflect the general culture. And while Kamui was a more competent weapons user than most hand to hand fighters would be, his skill lied more in Ki manipulation and swift, crippling physical attacks.
Holding up his hand briefly, the sword he was wielding would begin to glow a bright magenta color, before exploding into tiny petals of pink energy, in a rather dramatic show of Magic Materialization. Those same petals of pink energy would begin to coalesce once more, forming another weapon, as Kamui defended himself against the King's assault.
The two warriors then engaged in a rather deadly dance, with Gallius attacking the Changeling with a rather brutal barrage of blows, with Kamui himself gracefully skirting out of the attack's path, each time the halberd missing its' quarry by mere centimeters. As Gallius switched to his dagger, Kamui's weapon of choice would finish materializing and he would grab it by the hilt.
A lovely dagger of the same make as the sword in which he previously wielded, Kamui held the blade in a reverse grip as it clashed against Gallius' own.
"I must admit, I very much enjoy the sense of nostalgia fighting with weapons gives me. Albeit, I must unfortunately admit that my skill with various melee weapons has become a bit rusty with time, so you must forgive me. That being said..." Kamui disengaged from his foe before utilizing a Time Skip. Skipping a tenth of a second in time, Kamui would vault forward with a speed unlike what most would be capable of, so the next thing Gallius would be aware of would be Kamui positioned behind him. The way he got there so quickly, was up to the interpretation of the Knight.
Closing the last of the gap, a flash of light could be seen as Kamui's blade reflected the light of the sky, as he lashed out. His blade growing bright orange as searing hot Ki was applied to his blade, Kamui executed a swift yet crushing thrust with the blade, with the intent to punch straight through the midnight black armor.
"Now, here is one thing I don't understand...if you didn't want bloodshed in this tournament, my lord, then why can't I fight unarmed? Much less chance of me drawing blood that way..."
Drawing his blade back, Kamui would then proceed to engage Gallius in a swift and precise barrage of vertical dagger thrusts, his body a blur of movement as he sought to overwhelm the Knight with his sheer attacking speed.

There was no feasible way to block all of the rapid strikes which the Frost Demon threw towards Gallius. That being said, his armor combined with swift movements managed to avoid the strikes. The ones which had hit didn’t cut too deeply. On the final strike, Gallius raised his Halberd’s hook and jammed it within one of the many cutouts of the dagger. Daggers were not designed to use in alone in combat, they were a backstabbing and assistance weapons, designed for use in subterfuge or as a secondary weapon to strike a blind spot. That combined with the various “decorative” holes found within made it a distasteful weapon. The holes only served to weaken the structural integrity of the weapon. Hell, if he had allowed a full fledged strike it probably would of snapped in half. With the quick twist of the wrist, Gallius’ Halberd snapped the daggers blade from the hilt. “Ye ain a bad fyter. Aye, wyth yer speed an strength ye culd easily beet me. But yer choyse of wepons be rather Amatcher. Myte I sujest a Raypere, er Short swerd?” Gallius stated. He was utterly sincere in his words. After Kamui gave his response and formed a new weapon, Gallius would nod and resume with his attack. He gave another rapid barrage with his Halberd before hopping back in preparation for what he assumed would be another flurry of strikes. That was an expensive ass knife. Kamui's brow furrowed in mild annoyance as he watched the blade fly into the night. He had bought that dagger on Arcose two years back, and was quite fond of it as a decorative item, even if it hadn't seen combat very often. It was perfectly capable of being used, after all. Well, not anymore. Now, he was without a weapon, and lost out on money. A disappointing day, after all. His dagger exploding into pink flying petals, the petals began to coalesce once more to form another weapon, noting that Gallius had taken pause to allow him time to recollect himself and form another weapon to use. An interesting decision, but an honorable and admirable one. Kamui chuckled slightly in response as he gripped the hilt of his new weapon...or rather his old weapon. The short sword that Kamui had utilized throughout the battle was once more in his hands, intent to strike with the same level of destruction that had gotten the Changeling to this point in the tournament. "Yes...you must understand that I haven't used weapons since....I haven't used weapons. So in fact, I think I'm doing quite well for one who only uses them for recreational sport and took all of the ones I have in collection down from their stands for this tournament specifically.""As for you....you've lasted longer than the typical fighter, and actually defended against an attack of mine, my lord. To be expected, of course." Kamui noted as Gallius launched himself on the offensive. Once more, the Frost Demon flawlessly dodged or parried each and every single one of Gallius's attacks, the crash of metal clearly audible as Kamui's short sword saw significantly more success against the Halberd as the dagger had. As Gallius jumped back however, Kamui flared his aura so that his energy exploded outwards in waves of concussive force, his Ki flashing a bright magenta color. As Kamui swiftly closed the distance between him and his opponent, the Frost Demon, instead of executing terrifyingly swift sword strokes, executed two heavy strikes. The first one was down upon the Halberd, instead of striking the Knight directly, the Frost Demon bringing the blade down horizontally upon the shaft. The Frost Demon didn't expect to hurt Gallius this way...at least not directly. His magenta aura stretching to encompass the blade, as soon as Kamui's blade came into contact with the man's halberd, he would immediately move to draw upon Gallius's energy, his own aura moving to merge and disrupt Gallius's own, like a parasite trying to grow stronger by deriving sustenance from his host. Moving forward once more, Kamui then moved to execute a swift diagonal slash with his blade, moving to slash across the Knight's body, going from left hip to right shoulder. Post Count: 3 | Andrew C. Gallius surrounded himself in a bright golden Aura to defend against the Frost Demon’s oppressive Aura. Quickly he would raise his sword, blocking the various strikes and eventually managing to twist the demon’s sword around in attempt to slice him. After the complex dance of weapon mastery, Gallius would quickly backflip away to try and make use of the Halberd’s superior range. It would certainly be in Gallius’ best interest to try and prevent the demon from closing the gap once more. Gallius would give two swift strikes with the spear point of the Halberd, taking a defensive stance afterwards. “If ye wysh, me Nytes an I can help ye form Wepons from yer Ki. Tys wat we do, keeps ta cost on Wepon use down” He would reach up to his helmet and press a button on it’s side. Slowly the helmet would disassemble into separate plates which situated themselves around the Knight’s collar bone. Some of the people in the stands cheered for their King while others watched with great interest. “Not one of us haf drawn true blood yet. Nay, me armor wuld protect me from such, tho not from them crushen blows of yers. If ye draw fyrst blood, ye wyn. So apparently this fellow was rather....generous. Even as they fought to dominate one another in the heat of close combat, Gallius continued to offer assistance, offering to improve Kamui's prowess with weaponry. To be honest, the Frost Demon's first desire was to blatantly refuse it, and refocus his efforts. After all, he rarely utilized weapons in actual combat, finding his fists and his rather sharp tail (when transformed) a much more reliable form of combat, given that they don't usually break when a Halberd comes down on them. However, additional skills never hurt, in case the opportunity arose in which he would need one. He wasn't opposed to the man instructing him, but only after this battle. The Knight desired victory at first blood. Then, Kamui would only be happy to oblige. As Gallius launched himself back on the offensive, Kamui made note of the distance advantage. Gallius was aware of Kamui's reach with the blade, as well as the Frost Demon's superior speed, and thus deemed it fit to strike and keep the Changeling away from him. It almost amused Kamui. The man did not yet understand the extent of Kamui's ability. He was all for closing gaps, regardless of long reach weaponry or not. It was about time he allowed Gallius to see what he meant. Moving his blade in swift strokes, Kamui deflected the spear points rather than a flat out block, for that would've risked compromising the blade and resulting in yet another expensive ass sword being broken. As he deflected the second strike, Kamui's aura flashed back to life once more, giving off a near blinding light, the magenta pink capable of blinding those who decided it appropriate to gaze upon it. Unaffected by the light of his own aura, Kamui proceeded with his attack. Utilizing his most potent technique, known as the Time Skip, Kamui combined his natural speed with a mastery of Ki over time and skipped a tenth of a second forward in time, his body moving within that fragment, so that the next thing Gallius was aware of, Kamui just warped out of view and was positioned directly behind Gallius. "Surprise." Kamui said cheerfully before going on the offensive. His blade a blur of movement, Kamui sought to strike Gallius with a devastatingly swift flurry of blows, his blade a mere blur of movement as it shot across the short space between them, seeking to shower his opponent with attacks. Gallius turned away quickly as the Frost Demon flared his Aura into a blinding light. It was lucky he had, as he managed to spot Kamui appear just behind him with a snarky “Surprise” added in. Instead of dodging out of the way Gallius took the opportunity to catch as many of the strikes as he could with the handle of his halberd. It was good that the weapon was made of Ki, else it would of shattered long ago. On the final strike Gallius managed to catch an attempted stab. The Knight would twist the weapon, and the Frost demons arm around in an attempt to disarm the frost demon. The Knight King’s eyes would burst with a golden light as he grinned. “Supryse” Gallius would attempt to kick out Kamui’s leg to get him kneeling. Either way, Gallius would point the halberd’s spear tip directly at Kamui’s torso. He would give five rapid strikes, more so attempting shallow wounds or cuts. First blood didn’t require much in the way of injury. After finishing his barrage he would push himself back and once more take a defensive stance, Halberd pointing straight forward. Then, without any real reason, Gallius would begin laughing. The King threw down his Halberd as a Golden streak of blood began to leak from his cheek. “Guess ye were faster than I thout. How interesting. The last thing he expected was for his opponent to be capable of being swift enough, in his heavy suit of armor to take Kamui's blows head on. But it seemed the King of Ferusalem was all full of surprises as he, with lightning fast reflexes, whipped his Halberd around to catch as many strikes as he could. Of course, a great deal of Kamui's strikes were much too fast for the Knight to handle, albeit a choice few were not able to wiggle past his guard. This wasn't what had marked Gallius as one of interest in Kamui's eyes, however. It was the man's counterattack. Moving swiftly on the offensive, Kamui found himself hefting his blade back to defend. Gallius's prowess with a weapon was considerable, much more than his own. While Kamui did admirably well for someone of such little skill in the way of arms, he could have done better, and silently cursed as he felt a sudden heat in his midsection area as the blade ripped across flesh. It wasn't a deep wound, but it was enough to draw blood. Did he lose? Could he have...? A moment before Kamui's own wound began to bleed, Gallius threw down his weapon, sporting a golden streak of blood from his cheek. Kamui had won the bout, but only barely. It was merely a matter of the fact that Kamui had struck Gallius seconds before the man had struck him. A victory, of course, but not totally satisfactory, even if the Changeling was holding back considerably, and out of his comfort zone. Nonetheless, he chuckled lowly," How entertaining....well done, King Gallius. You have impressed me, and few can successfully do this. As for your proposed weapon training...." Kamui mused for a moment, his hand rubbing his chin as his sword burst into pink petals of light, slowly dispersing in air. "After my mission. Once I find a certain person, and keep him from endangering the rest of the galaxy, I will return and learn from you. A few more skills...will never hurt." Kamui said as he turned to walk towards the audience. He would spend the night on this world, participate in the post tournament festivities, and then leave the next morning. Such was only right. A squire ran up to Gallius with a small bandage and some drink. The King took the bandage and applied it to the cut before grabbing the glass of glowing wine and downing it. He would tap the side of his hip, causing his helmet to unfold itself over Gallius’ face. A few knights would ride up on horses, with a dismounted one following behind for Kamui. Gallius was sure that the Frost demon could fly, but twas a day of relaxation and fun, might as well take a break from it. Gallius would summon his own golden steed next to him with a large lightning bolt. The Pegasus folded its wings in, as Gallius had no intentions of flying to the keep. Gallius hopped onto his steed and turned to Kamui. “Ah, in ta meenwyle, come. We ryde fer ta Counsyl Keep. Tys a nyse day fer a ryde” Gallius would beckon for the knights to take lead. “An perhaps I can help ye fynd thys dangerus persen. A danejer ta tha Galaxy is a danejer ta me peepel.
