Karaoke night. A night filled with laughter. A night filled with tears. On this very karaoke night, a knife-eared Shinjin had a goal: to drink until he couldn't see straight, and to sing his heart out. Karaoke was a rare thing to find in outer space. Usually it had weird songs from different cultures, sang in alien tongues that the youth didn't recognize. Tonight he was going to sing his favorite song, 'Stairway to Otherworld'. It was by the group Metal Airship, his personal favorite classic rock group. He eyed a space station in the North Quadrant, renowned for three things: incredibly cheap drinks, cheap sushi, and incredible karaoke.
He stormed into the establishment with his cyclical smile on display, his eyes shimmering with excitement. When nobody was looking, he took a swig from his flask. A 'free' pre-game. Free-game? Free-game. Then he approached the Sake bar, ordering two large porcelain bottles of the beverage. He grabbed a single sakazuki- or serving cup- and filled it. He quickly slammed the first bottle, pushing it away from him as he got started on the second. He felt his cheeks flush with a crimson tint as the beverage warmed his gut.
"Six spicy tuna maki, and two orders of seaweed salad!" he commanded of the barkeep, filling the sakazuki with the hot rice wine once more. In what seemed like no time his food appeared. In another blink of an eye, he devoured it. Then he finished off the second bottle of sake, his shoulders relaxing. It was almost time to start singing...
Another individual had begun karaoke. Rai watched his performance with a serious expression, plasma beginning to crackle around him as his aura darkened. The youth demanded another order of sake, finishing it as quickly as he had the earlier bottles. He was drunk now, his visage serious and focused. The boy had been waiting for this day for far too long. Karaoke Tuesday.
Rising to his feet, he cracked his neck and steeled his nerves. Butterflies danced around his gut, but he swallowed them. Raijin rushed the stage, barrelling through folks as he did so. Some people may have even spilled their drinks as he pushed through the crowd, tossing the currently performing artist off of the stage with a crash.
"DJ! I want Stairway to Otherworld! -NOW-."
Man, he was real demanding when drunk.

Being on the run wasn't easy when you were always the biggest and tallest person in the room. So when Yama found a quiet little sushi place to hide out in for a bit, he was thankful for it. The Imperials wanted him for practically destroying an entire dome on Tech Tech (not to mention half of their space fleet) and the Dominion wanted him for ruining a rather important mission. Well, it wasn't entirely his fault. Come to think of it, he had no idea if the mission was even a success or not. So, nestled into a rather spacious corner booth that would normally fit an entire family, it almost looked like a child's table in front of his massive form. He was nursing a pint and there was a half-finished row of sushi in front of him. It wasn't that he disliked the fish, but it didn't really feel like an actual meal so he wanted to make it last. He leaned back against the padded seat and glanced around to room with his good eye. He was wearing his typical tank top, cargo pants, and combat boots. His armor was stored on his ship that was docked at the port on the other side of the station. This was just a short layover until he found somewhere better to be. Suddenly a rather obnoxious little elf strolled in and started to cause quite the ruckus. Yama narrowed his eyes, watching as the Shinjin took the stage. "DJ! I want Stairway to Otherworld! -NOW-."The Saiyan made a face and sucked in through his teeth. He really shouldn't start anything, but the little piss-ant reminded him of the Shinjin he was trying to find. The one who completely obliterated his entire species and ran back to this universe. Granted, they had it coming, but still... if anyone was going to do it, he wanted it to be him... not some... elf. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, seeing the pointy eared brat cause a scene on the stage. With a huff and some difficulty he managed to squeeze out of the booth and stood to his full height. The strands of his hair brushed against the ceiling tiles as he strode towards the stage. There was a thundering boom with every footfall. He got right up in the elf's face and growled. "Get off the stage before I make you."

Raijin hadn't even noticed when the lumbering hulk of a Saiyan made his way on stage, his expression remarkably pissed off. The youth still didn't notice as he belted out the words to his favorite song, drunkenly stumbling. Suddenly, he bumped into what he thought was a wall. Turns out? It was a wall of muscle. The Shinjin gulped, drunkenly looking up. This guys hair... Touched the ceiling. Not only that he didn't look like a dumb meathead. This wasn't really good. No, no. He looked very angry.
“Get off the stage, before I make you.”
Words to die by. In fact, Rai knew that if he didn't back down he could get crushed by this man. It was no doubt to him that he was battle-hardened. His very demeanor was that of a warrior of incredible stature. Perhaps even lightyears ahead of Raijin's own strength... Still, he was drunk. And a troublemaker. And he didn't like being threatened. On top of that? This was a really good song. The youth didn't appreciate the interruption. So, he smiled, placing his arm around the hulking individual as best he could. This was a bad idea.
The song still played in the background as he slurred out a question. Secretly, he was casting a spell to remove some of the alcohol from his bloodstream. But first he had to buy enough time for that to work. The Shinjin spoke, some of his words crashing together as he spoke.
“I-instead, how about a duet?”
What an idiot.

The elf must've known what he was up against. The mountain of a Saiyan took a step back from the stage, a look of perturbed frustration plastered across his face. "Fine... but I don't think you'll like this particular song, boy."Sensing an incoming fight, the other patrons quickly evacuated the small sushi bar. Yama watched them flee the scene. He huffed and mumbled to himself under his breath. That would bring the local authorities for sure. He shouldn't have said anything to the boy. He should have just minded his own damn business. This was that dome on Tech-Tech all over again. The elder Saiyan looked back at the elf on the stage and all the concern fell away, only to replaced with anger and frustration. He clenched his fists, preparing to strike. Back at the docks, in the cargo hold of his ship sat a large black container about the size of a large wardrobe. Yama's armor and hammer was within, but he didn't think he'd need them to deal with this runt. His fists would suffice. So he lashed out at the kid, sending the back of his hand towards the Shinjin's face. He intended to backhand him across the face and send him flying. He had done it. As Yama spoke, Rai burned off enough of the alcohol to regain his bearings. Maybe it would he enough to catch this hulking brute off-guard? Rai dodged a rather lazy backhand from the larger man, making it look like a drunken stumble. Plasma began to gather silently in his palm, as storm clouds filled the bar, dimming the lights. A few bulbs shattered from the sudden atmospheric shift, as rain began to fall. Strangely enough, it seemed only to land on Raijin, gathering and coalescing around him. A thin layer of glass-like water surrounded him, shielding him from injury. It would serve as a kinetic buffer. A moment later, twin bolts of lightning arced from the clouds, spiraling towards Yama. A moment later, Rai grinned, cocking back his fist. This was a variation of his signature technique- he figured it'd have to be enough to deal with this big guy. Raijin could now feel the power difference between them. It was good the Saiyan had underestimated him. The youth attempted to deliver a rapid punch to the man's sternum, hoping to use the momentum from the strike to propel himself away from his foe. "Sorry! You're too big for me to hold back! The elf was able to nimbly dodge his halfhearted backhand. Yama dismissed it as pure luck until the atmosphere in the bar quite literally changed. Clouds formed above them, cutting off the already dim light. Yama squinted with his good eye. The lights blew indiscriminately above them, raining shattered glass down as actual rain fell with it. Yama shielded his face from the shards of glass with his large hand. In doing so, he didn't even see the twin bolts of lightning as they surged towards him. He could feel them though. Yama's own attacks used the same elemental power so he knew it intimately. The bolts hit his body but did nothing more than singe his skin and burn a hole through his shirt. He huffed a bit and finally dropped his hand from his face just in time to see the boy launch a punch aimed right for the center of his chest. The Shinjin's fist hit, but did nothing aside from thud against his skin. Yama looked down at him and cocked his head to the side with a raised brow. "Sorry! You're too big for me to hold back! Can't lose these pretty teeth!"That made the big Saiyan smirk. "If that was you not holding back, you're in more trouble than you think."Yama rolled his head back around, cracking it as he did so. His ki pulsed and flickered, little arcs of electricity ran over his body. His good eye glowed for a second. The ground around the two of them trembled and then he unleashed all of his ki outward. "RAAGGHHH!!"In one fluid motion, Yama kicked into the floor, digging his boot in before hurling all of the debris and ki energy at the elf. Shit. This guy was no joke. Rai's attacks seemed particularly ineffective against the brutish saiyan. In fact? It had hurt to hit him. Rai felt a bone in his wrist crack and sting with pain as it impacted his opponent. What had he gotten himself into? A moment later Yama began to crackle with a fearsome aura. Electricity and latent ki gathered around him as his eye glowed. A kick caused an outward explosion of ki, debris and energy hurtling towards the Shinjin. The velocity was so intense he hardly managed to avoid the makeshift attack, not even bothering to look as he heard the bar around them fall victim to the destructive power of his foe. The clouds above the duo crackled again, and a few bolts shot down towards the Saiyan warrior. Rai was trying to buy time to make some space between them, maybe he would get another lucky hit in the meantime. Til then? Save your ki, try not to die. Words to live by. The youth hoped that he would make it through this debacle with his head still attached. His opponent was so intimidating that Rai debated fleeing. Kuueru's teleportation would be useful right about now. Thankfully Rai had figured it out. He made a mental note to flee if things got too serious. That would be a smart call. BATTLE TRACKER

Yama barreled through, growling as the bolts of lightning hit him but did no damage. He had no need to dodge them. Nothing that weak would really harm him enough to force him to avoid them. He hurled himself at the boy. Their eyes locked. Suddenly Yama saw Xell staring back at him and he froze. Everything froze. Time seemed to stand still. In that moment, just the two of them faced each other in a void of sorts. All of the emotions he felt, the anger and the frustration. All of it was at Xell... not this boy before him. Xell had wiped out the entire population of his race. A feat that no one in their universe could have accomplished except maybe for himself. At the rate the Saiyans were going, he probably would have done it himself anyway. That was beside the point though. Xell killed his people and he wanted to kill him in return. Not out of revenge or anything so emotional. He wanted to kill him because that proved the shinjin was, in fact, the strongest being from their shared universe. If Yama could beat him, then he would have that title and the satisfaction to go with it. So yes, this was a work out of sorts. A training match before he faced his real foe. That idiotic blue skinned, white haired elf... Xell. Yama blinked and he was back in the bar, a foot or two away from the Raijin. The saiyan cracked a smirk and pulled his right arm back, cocked it, and then unleashed a powerful hook that sent his fist flying towards the elf's face. Whether that connected or not, he followed through with a left uppercut meant for the shinjin's jaw. It was meant to knock him up into the air, maybe even through the ceiling and into the next level of the space station. Rai was struck full force by the large Saiyan's attack, sent hurtling through layers of the space station. The youthful Shinjin felt pain in a way he had never experienced, crying out and he landed amidst debris. This was not good. Not good at all. Fortunately, there was one thing Rai was good at- running away.
There was honestly no point in sticking around to get beat on. This guy was a brick wall with anger issues. The youth grimaced at the notion of dying here. Then he imagined a nice bar with plenty of sake. Option two seemed more... pleasurable. Wasting no time, the halfling decided he should utilize his racial ability- teleportation.
Phasing from view, he reappeared halfway around the universe at his favorite bar- albeit his other favorite one. No karoake this time. The youth wiped some blood from his mouth, glancing around warily. No more picking fights for him- time to run. And run.
And run. At this point Rai had decided to forgo all his responsibilities, willing to risk his own demise. Death was inevitable. The least he could do is shirk off and wait for it to finally claim him. Besides, as he ordered a round of drinks and sat down to partake, he realized it was a waste of time to try to get stronger.
It was time to binge. Thank god for teleportation.

Yama went tearing after Raijin, tunneling through the holes that the Shinjin made while the elf was launched through the various levels of the space station. He clawed his way up through the debris and finally out of the last hole. People nearby had already run so the area was deserted but he could still hear the screams of panic in the distance. He glared around but caught no sign of the elf. Typical. Yama grumbled and pulled himself fully out of the hole and then stood to his full height. Indeed, not a single speck of evidence that the Shinjin ran in one direction or the other. He must have teleported like they do. The older Saiyan kicked at the ground, wrenching a piece of floor out of place to send it flying into the distance. He let out a sigh of frustration and then heard the sirens. Imperial Patrolman no doubt. He really didn't want to deal with them. Not so soon after Tech Tech. So he made himself scarce and headed towards his ship docked at the space port. Maybe he would head back to Dominion Space. Perhaps Radia had calmed down enough to let him see her again.
