BLOODSCORE ARENA, Planet Hindsight Ruins.The crowd roared in adoration as the massive insect's skull caved in. The xeno fighting it was a bright blue blob with bone studs coating his upper body and spines protruding from his skull (Dodoria's race.) He threw both of his stubby arms into the air as lime green blood and a slimy sac of guts came pouring out of its sundered carapace. The insect was reminiscent an enormous beetle with giant crushing mandibles and chitinous armor thicker than panels on a warship. Despite all of the fighter's bloodied wounds and broken leg, he had come out on top against the beast. Bloodscore Arena had been built within the heart of the lifeless husk of a planet called Hindsight. The planet once bustled with life, but was a dead fragment of its former self. Half of it had been annihilated during some great cataclysm eons ago, leaving a tattered trail of rubble floating through the the void surrounding it. The arena was a massive structure, tiered and layered in concentric rings. Atmospheric generators surrounded it and kept the locale habitable for most species. Lute watched from the crowd, arms folded. Next up were the open challenges. It took a few minutes for the pit crews to drag out the carcass of the insect. Medical personnel tended to the xeno, before he was escorted out of the sandy ring and into the depths of the structure. No doubt the victorious fighter would spend some time in the healing chamber, with the sheer number of gruesome wounds he had. Lute usually didn't care for sports fighting. But, at the same time it was a good place to train. Sometimes you got lucky and found someone strong enough to pose a challenge. "Who dares step into the arena next?" a voice called out across the stands.It emerged from a rotund robot holding a giant microphone. Cracking his neck, he leaped from the stands and landed in the blood soaked pit. "I am Lute of the Demon Clan and I will crush any weakling who dares challenge me.""You hear that folks, Lute of the Demon Clan! He's gonna ~cruuuuush!~" To back up the words, Lute released his aura, letting it unfurl from him like a shadowy omen. It rose up out of his pores as darkened wisps of amethyst smoke. To anyone close by, they would feel an acute pressure in their skulls, as though they were plunged deep below the sea. Lute's aura was just that potent, rage and agony made manifest. Lute
As the aura filtered out into the crowd, they all grew weary and quiet. A hush fell over those gathered and for a moment or two they all suffered Lute's aura in silence... But then a loud, eerie laugh echoed out across the arena. Those in the stands started glancing around trying to find out where it was coming from but no one had claimed it. Then a resounding boom echoed out and as it faded, another one followed, then in succession another. They were slow at first, but started to ring out closer together. It sounded like something being hit really hard with something a lot bigger. The echoing clangs filtered out into the air, faster and faster. Some people in the stands started to slam their feet down in unison, banging the ground in time with the booming sound. The excitement was rising all around. The arena quaked after every boom. The stands shook as those in attendance joined in. Then it stopped suddenly and all was quiet again. The fans in the crowd were confused, looking around, wondering what was going to happened next. A flash of light shot across the sky and the sound of thunder rumbled down. Suddenly someone in the crowd screamed at the top of their lungs. "THUNDER!!!"A song began to play across the speakers of the arena. Slowly it pulled them all in and then they began to chant together. Every echoing boom and they yelled out. "THUNDER!!!""THUNDER!!!""THUNDER!!!"From the darkened tunnel, he smirked, tapping his armored boot in time with the chants and music. As the song reached it's climax, he stepped out into the arena and held his gigantic war hammer up high. The crowd lost their minds. Screaming and clapping like maniacs. The song faded out and the armor-clad Saiyan strode out to meet the Namekian. He was carrying his helmet in the crook of his arm. The giant of a man let the head of the hammer fall in a half-circle motion until the top of it was facing the ground. Then he simply let go. He grinned as the very ground quaked once the war hammer crashed into the sand. Another crash of thunder rippled out overhead. The older man raised his helmet up and fit it over his head. Once he did so, the visor lit up with a yellow/orange hue that matched the other glowing lights on his suit. The announcer chuckled to himself. "Alright folks! It appears that Yama himself has taken a liking to this new challenger."Yama reached out and took hold of his giant hammer with an equally large hand. He slung it up onto his shoulder and stared down at the Namekian. The crowd grew amped as Lute's challenger Yama made his entrance. Lute's sensitive hearing was assailed by the the discordant sound of Earthling rock music. He winced visibly as the armored goliath trudged across the sand. The hammer he carried looked heavy, as if it were made out of an exotic and very dense metal. It was the way he wielded it. If a warrior this strong looked strained as he held it up, that meant it was dangerous beyond reason. Lute couldn't help but also feel a twinge of irritation at the fact that the man was a few inches taller than him. That didn't happen often. A cold sensation ran down his spine as he assumed a fighting stance. Lute felt nervous and he wasn't sure why. Seldom did any combatant do anything but excite him. Even against the Emperor of the Galaxy ( Legume ) Lute hadn't worried. And Polaris's ki signature had been multiple times larger than Yamas. It's his weapon and that damn armor. I need to be careful and figure out their limitaitons. Lute took a deep breath to steel his nerves. If a warrior's Yuki was out of sync, it would throw off their aura and not let them into their full power. He had just taught Kuueru ( Queen Kuueru ) that lesson. Hell, as a young Dragon Clan initiate, that was among the first lessons he learned. The last time he let his confidence splinter was against Xell. He had to get past it, grow from that defeat. So, he decided to throw himself into the fray and let his instincts do the talking. He lifted a finger, uttering dark and foreboding words of magic. Black tentacles of shadow erupted out of the sand without warning, enveloping Yama's bulky form. They slithered and probed their way in the gaps with an icy touch. If any of them managed to worm their way to flesh, Yama would feel acute pain as they injected a toxin into his blood stream. With Yama occupied by the spell, Lute drew out his malicious aura. It rose from his pores in stream of black and purple smoke. With a grunt of exertion, he sent the aura rippling outward. To the naked eye it looked like a concussive burst burst. But, the air around the entire arena pit became filled with his his foul and abhorrent presence. Being within it was like wading into a pond of pure agony, pressing in on the body and soul from all sides like sharp needles. Lute roared, psyching himself up. A ghastly blade of amethyst flame appeared from his fingertips and he dashed at Yama, thrusting out with a quick succession of stabs. He shifted, spinning around the armored warrior, hoping to use his speed to the advantage. Behind Yama now he went for an open-palm strike at the center of the back, right on the spine. He followed by leaping out of range of the hammer whilst firing a crackling purple beam of ki out of his mouth. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Lute
The gargantuan Saiyan looked down at the sand as the black tentacles slithered up out of it and ran up the legs of his armor. The shadow tendrils moved over his armor and slipped into the cracks to penetrate it. The poison managed to make it into his body but the damage turned out to be more of a nuisance than anything. He felt his power level dropping but didn't pay much attention to it as he could easily rectify that by transforming. It was an interesting ability for sure. Yama had been distracted by the shadow tentacles and poison that he didn't notice Lute's next attack, the stream of black and purple smoke. That is, until it was quite obvious even to the aloof giant. The air became thick and pungent. Yama could feel the pressure like a bed of needles pressing into his body. Even his armor strained against it. This Namekian was full of suprises. It excited the older Saiyan. Then his foe finally attacked. With a roar, Lute lunged at him while summoning a ki blade of sorts. The attack fell short as Yama simply backed up by a step or two. Not deterred, the Namekian flanked around to the side and then behind the large warrior. Yama turned to peer over his shoulder as the next attacks struck him. The first one, a palm strike to the center of his back, and then when Lute jumped a good distance away, he launched a beam of ki from his mouth, also targeting his back. When the smoke cleared, Yama was seen facing Lute. Smoke rose off of the back of his armor and it was singed slightly, but otherwise the Saiyan was unharmed. "Interesting abilities... if not a little creepy. Ha ha!"He chuckled a bit and then quickly pulled his hammer back, readying a swing. Yama hurled the hammer around and as the face of the large war hammer dug into the ground, it loosened and carried chunks of dirt, sand, and debris with it. This debris along with a burst of ki energy was then lifted up and launched at the Namekian. As the blast roared towards Lute, Yama called down a lightning bolt by raising his hammer up into the sky. The clouds lit up for an instant as a bolt came crashing down on top of where Lute had been standing. It's light was blinding. Lute could already feel a bit of weariness setting in from the amount of exertion he needed to punch through the armor. It was made out of some ungodly material, perhaps an alloy made out of katchin or even kachi kactchin. It didn't matter. If he wanted any chance at winning this fight, he needed to break through it and fast. After the salvo of attacks, Yama dragged his hammer and unleashed a fiery arc towards Lute--along with some chunks of the arena. Lute brought both hands above his head and channeled ki into his palms. They glowed with a purple light and he thrust them down to meet the opposition head on. The two attacks collided with an immense explosion. The onlookers in the crowd were forced to cover their eyes against the glow. The shields protecting the stands sputter,ed their hexagonal shape materializing for a second before fading back to transparency. Just after releasing the blast Yama had been clever enough to call down lightning upon Lute. The Namekian floated there, smoke rolling off of his from. Blood trickled from his arm and shoulder. Burns and scuffs covered him. The first few seconds of battle had not gone well, that was for sure. Anger, pride, doubt--all addled the Demon Clansmen as he formulated his plan. That plan simply turned into another all out attack. With a guttural roar, he shot forth at Yama and tried to knee him straight in the head. Using the warrior;'s immense shoulders as a platform, Lute would plant both feet and spring off. It wasn't at all an attack, it just let him get some space. That hammer was intimidating, none the less. As he moved backwards, he flicked his wrist and shot a sizzling bolt of ki. Just as the ki left his fingertips, he flickered from sight and appeared behind and below Yama in a crouched. The ghost blade of amethyst flame flickered to life from his fingertips once again as he went for a full force kidney stab, hoping to drill straight through the hard carapace. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Lute
Yama watched as the two attacks collided, his flurry of debris and ki that slung forth from his hammer swing and Lute's intense beam of ki energy. The impact of both attacks caused him to wince slightly. It was either that or the poison coursing through his veins. Even with the visor helping to dampen the brightness, it was still brilliantly blinding. The surge of power shook the stadium and caused the shield that protected the onlookers to flicker in a hexagonal design. The Saiyan barely had the time to marvel at the power the shield must have used to hold back such a blast before Lute was on the attack again. The Namekian didn't seem too keen on being struck by Yama's lightning bolt. The grizzled warrior smirked behind his face-plate as Lute uttered a deep growling roar and launched at him. Yama took a wide stance, readying himself for the attack. All the while he continued to grin with excitement. "COME ON! SHOW ME WHAT YOU'VE GOT!!"Lute flew through the air like a missle. His knee crushed into Yama's visor, cracking it badly. The yellow-orange light flickered for a second before powering back on. Then he launched himself off of Yama to gain distance. He shot a bolt of ki at the older Saiyan as he moved through the air. Yama leaned his head to the left as the bolt flew past, missing him entirely. Then he was gone, flickered out of Yama's line of sight. The Saiyan glanced about, but he couldn't sense him until he reappeared. The crafty Namekian summoned forth his Godslayer attack and with immense force, he jabbed upward to try and pierce Yama's armor. However, Yama's giant war hammer was already in mid-swing and it came around and crashed into Lute's path, preventing him from getting the full force of the attack off. The remnants of the Namekian's energy got swept up in the swing and pull of the hammer's magnetic ki. Yama followed through with the swing, hurling debris and ki energy up and into the protective shield. It exploded on impact causing the hexagonal design of the shield to appear momentarily while it absorbed and redistributed the blast. Yama's war hammer came back around at the tail end of the swing and then landed on his shoulder with a metallic clunk. His visor shorted again and again. Yama gave it a couple good knocks with his free hand but it kept shorting out so he just pulled the damaged thing off and tossed it aside. "Ahhh, much better! Now we are face to face, like warriors should be!"A bead of sweat rolled down the side of his face and disappeared into his white beard. He grinned back at the Namekian and readied for Lute's next attack. Yama was strong. That Lute could not dispute. Each blow delivered was taxing on the Namekian. He was a foe that made you pay in blood for every inch, every blow landed. That only meant that Lute would have to make him pay as well. With a grunt he heaved himself out of range. Close range fighting was clearly the advantage for the guy with the big melee weapon, hence his to be face to face. Lute had to skirt the juggernaut and plan his assault carefully, especially he he wanted to make it out unscathed. But, he was smart enough to know that was unlikely to happen. More dark words, ancient and foreboding, escaped his lips. Sand and dust hung in the air, danced across the static lines pressure from their clashing power levels. Lute's spell turned it all that loose debris into midnight beads that coalesced around Yama like a typhon. They pelted his armor from all angles, sticking, seeping and slithering their way once again through the cracks and folds. Lute dashed across the arena and slid as if he were playing baseball, aiming to go straight under Yama's stance. As he did, he swept his azure blade of flame up and attempted to stab the Saiyan straight in the groin. It was a gruesome tactic. But, Lute had spent most of his life as an assassin. He could care less about honor. Winning was everything. After the slide, he kicked off and sprang into the air, pausing levitating there. Both his arms pumped as he rained down a flurry of ki blasts in quick succession. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Lute
This Namekian was a slippery bastard. He was weaving about like a serpent. For such a tall warrior, he was quite the agile combatant. The older Saiyan respected Lute's abilities. He knew he must have trained his body hard to be able to move like he did. After the fight was over, Yama would have to remember to tell him as much. Then he hit him with the same spell as before. A typhoon of that inky black ooze that snaked it's way inside the plates of his armor. Yama winced a bit. The pain was something he could handle, but the feeling of that ooze working it's way around him made him sick to his stomach. Lute slid in for his next attack, attempting to pierce through Yama's armor and stab him in the groin. A ruthless tactic. It was not something a noble warrior like Yama would ever think to do, let alone attempt. The attack did nothing but cause the older Saiyan to lose some respect for the Namekian. That isn't to say it didn't hit. Of course it did. The ki blade met his armor, but it never got past that point. He then launched himself into the air to unleash an onslaught of ki blasts at Yama. The machine gun ferocity of the continuous blasts caused a huge cloud of sand, dust, and debris to kick up around the aged Saiyan. However, as the attack subsided and the dust cloud started to clear, a huge bolt of lightning shot down and cut through it. The bolt hit Yama's hammer as it was raised high above his head. The sudden strike sent a shock wave out that instantly pushed away any remaining clouds of dust and sand. The strike also cleansed his body of Lute's ooze. Yama remained largely unscathed. Smoke rose form his armor as he lowered his hammer and took up a defensive pose. He just grinned, eager to see what else to Namekian could dish out. "I hope you can do better than that, my green friend! A droplet of sweat rolled down Lute's forehead as he stared at ring of dust and sand rippling outward. The crowd roared for Yama. There was a ferocity in their eyes. They were watching a very one-sided fight. Lute was a voracious fighter. He loved to battle, testing his own mettle as well as trying to progress his skills. Despite that, he was not a fool. He knew that sometimes a battle couldn't be won and it was no fault of his own. Each fighter faced off against was a puzzle to be solved . As with most people he challenged, that puzzle was solved in an instant. And the tool to solve it was raw power. Lute's power was overwhelming to most. But, against Yama it seemed to be a quite different circumstance. Not only was he strong too, but he was prepared. Lute stared at his hands in dismay. He was sure the blade had connected moments prior with his groin shot. Yet, nothing happened. There wasn't even a bit of scoring on the armor in that section. Lute wasn't wearing armor, in fact, he was still dressed in training weights. He didn't have a giant hammer that could crush half a planet with its force either. It was frustrating, but like this he couldn't beat Yama. Not this day anyway. Both Lute's dark eyes locked on the announcer, who was safe inside of a double shielded reinforced bunker. "I yield."Floating down, he landed and stood across from Yama, a fanged grin on his face. And he said, "You're a gods-damned monster.""AND ONCE AGAIN, YAMA IS THE WINNER! EVERYONE GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR CHAMPION!" "I'll fight you again for sure," Lute said. Lute "I yield."Yama's eyes suddenly widened in surprise. This was the last thing he expected. He kept the grip on his hammer tight, not wanting to let his guard down. Opponents have tried to trick him in the past and based on Lute's previous strikes, it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for him to play dirty..er. The big man narrowed his one good eye as Lute lowered to the sandy ground. "You're a gods-damned monster."He raised a bushy white brow. "AND ONCE AGAIN, YAMA IS THE WINNER! EVERYONE GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR CHAMPION!"The announcer's voice echoed across the stadium as it erupted in applause and celebration. Most people were cheering, some who had lost their money on the wrong bet were visibly perturbed and quick to exit the stands. The Saiyan finally let his guard down, accepting the win as he dropped out of the defensive stance and let the head of his hammer fall to the ground. Suddenly there were hissing sounds coming from under the plates of his armor, then various mechanisms began to power up and the plates of his armor opened up, revealing the still sizable Saiyan. He was wearing something that resembled a wet suit of sorts. Yama stepped down onto the sand. He was now slightly shorter than the Namekian. The two stood together as warriors and worthy combatants, equals in the ring. "I'll fight you again for sure."They looked out at the crowd, both already itching for another bout. "I look forward to it... to a real fight."
