Pain was something she hadn’t felt in a long time, at least since she burnt herself on that searing muffler the other month. It had blistered and pained the Earthling for a few weeks at least before finally healing. Meiku didn’t particularly enjoy the neurons in her body screaming at her, but she dealt with it. Atreus had mentioned that she needed to grow stronger, and this type of training was the kind she needed to improve her skills.
Meiku’s face grew worried after her defensive moves against the other. She had successfully mitigated some of the damage that would have likely ended their battle. At least the mechanic were in the fight for a bit longer. She bellowed over, still panting from the intense exercise and a bit of the earlier gas attack.
“I-Intentional? What?” It was then that Meiku looked up to see a less-than-modest Audrey. The Earthling’s face flushed with color before she averted her gaze.
“No! Of course not! Only payback….” Meiku mumbled and motioned towards her own tattered clothing. They were stained with blood and sweat, and in rags from knife attacks. Below her clothing rather girly pink brassiere hugged her ample chest. Meiku quickly covered herself in shame. If the guys back home knew she wore pink, the teasing would never stop. Perhaps she needn't worry so much around another woman. To be fair, she didn’t interact with many women her age--sometimes the nuances of girltalk became confusing.
“I will not stay…wait, why are you smiling like that?” Meiku could immediate feel the danger as Audrey shot her an unnerving gaze. Again the funnels went off, leaving Meiku to dance between the beams of energy. She weaved and bobbed despite the fatigue that plagued her body. Quickly, she swallowed a vial of something she stole from her opponent earlier. The girl’s body quickly felt at ease and ready to counter.
“You’re walking right to me though?” Meiku mumbled, managing to skirt her way back from Audrey’s merciless attacks. She held a hand forth, a red beam began forming in her palm. She fired the beam off at close range, it’s trail of crimson blinding to the very eyes.
“I won’t give up yet okay?”

Where Meiku's survival instinct was something to be complimented before...now it had become very annoying to deal with. Once more the earthling had dodge her funnel attacks...maybe the android shouldn't have set it to inverted control in first place. It made locking on to her opponent a lot harder than she had hope. Even her blade failed to find purchase on the woman's body. Is she letting her emotion cloud her judgment? When Meiku fired a beam towards her eyes, the android reacted too late and received it head-on. Immediately her vision went out as she covered her eyes, grunting in pain. A click of tongue followed by a number of choice words that would have make even a sailor blush was uttered under her breathe. It was fortunate that the funnel didn't need her eyes to operate as she directed the drones to attack the girl once more. "God, did you just make a half-naked woman blind? How am I suppose to cover myself without knowing where I should cover myself??" Audrey grumbled. She may be an android but for the most part of her body was made of flesh, except for her augmented heart which was made of power core. Thus she had learnt a little bit to be self-conscious of her appearance. "You better take responsibility!" Audrey raised her hand and once more the funnel drone abided her by unleashing a barrage beam of light towards the Earthling.

She watched the red beam rip from her hand before it hit head on. The blinding beam of light also seemed to obscure Audrey’s vision. That was easy enough to hear based on the yelling of the other woman. Meiku huffed and stumbled to her feet, she could tell she were on her last legs. Any more of this high level of intensity fighting and she would be passed out in the dirt soon.
“Look, I’m sorry. I’ll make it up to you sometime.” Meiku replied cheerfully, it weren’t long before the ordered her drones to attack again. Like before the lasers of doom aimed towards her frame. Meiku managed to dodge the first few, but the she soon felt the searing pain in her ankle. She fell to the ground, another piercing her shoulder. Again and again the drones attacked.
Meiku finally lay face up upon the ground. She stared at the sky, her dirt-covered and bruised face shining of sweat in the sunlight. Her dull swollen gray eyes looked towards the other, shooting her a friendly smile and a thumbs up.
“I think...I took responsibility.” Meiku murmured before raising a hand to shield her eyes from the sun.

Judging by the lack of counterassault, it seems the funnel finally did their job of knocking Meiku down. However it wasn't until Meiku uttered the last words about taking responsibility did Audrey feel the impact of the earlier damage hit her body like a bag of bricks. What the android had thought to be a simple battle to play around with her opponent turned into a grueling battle where she had to take things a little seriously. Audrey made her way towards where the earthling fell, which took quite a bit as her eyesight was robbed. Thanfully the smell of oil and blood made it easier for her before she straddled the human and took out her cellphone. The android honestly doubted it at this point but until she was 100% certain that this woman was not behind the case she was investigating, she had to consider her as a potential suspect. "You damn right you did. Now stay still while I grab a photo." Audrey ordered. In hindsight, the words probably should have been phrased a little better but it wasn't like she meant anything harm with it. Audrey fumbled with her cellphone slightly before finally used voice command to bring up the photos relevant to her case. When Audrey showed her, Meiku will see a couple of necklace and accessories the kind of which would normally be worn by rich and elite classes. There was also the fact that the cellphone was upside down as well, but it was not like the android can check that with her eyes. "I'm gonna ask this only once. Did you sell these golden trinkets to anyone with that ability of yours?" As opposed to her heated anger earlier, from the tone of voice she appeared to have simmered down somewhat as she asked in a rather calm manner. Cassava | 307 words |

Meiku lay there, her body stained with blood, sweat and tears at this point in her battle with Audrey. She weakly lifted her head to look at Audrey as she straddled the Earthling. Meiku let out a groan of pain while wiggling beneath Audrey’s thighs.
Meiku focused on her opponent who now pulled out a mobile phone. The raven-haired woman squinted her eyes and tried to figure out what Audrey was doing. Perhaps she were taking a picture of the beaten girl to show her friends later? No, she didn’t think the other woman was that cruel.
Soon the screen was flipped to Meiku revealing several golden stolen trinkets. She had honestly never seen the things, but could understand why she would be suspected. With her magic she could fool quite a vendor out of zeni. Meiku however had no malicious intentions like that.
“Hm, I have never seen those things before.” Meiku answered honestly, her chest heaving as she fought to breath beneath the other.
“I can understand why you would suspect me, but I wouldn’t be living out here in a shed if I was scamming people out of zeni.” Meiku chuckled and rested a weary hand upon Audrey’s thigh. “But if you could get off of me, that would be nice too.” It was very obvious that Meiku was not a sub.

Even though her eyes were blinded, the android's other senses were still intact. So while she couldn't perceive Meiku's face, she could check the irregularity in her heartbeat using her hearing and a combination of touch. There was no irregularity of her heartbeat which was often associated with a lie or when one was trying to conceal something. Of course this also means that she was back to square zero in her investigation. The android let out a click with her tongue as she pocketed her mobile once more. As much as she enjoyed the spar, she would have a lot of ground to cover from now on. Even if the girl was not related to the case, at the very least she hoped that the woman knew this place well enough to give a tour. "...yeah, sure." The android replied as she got off her and returned the funnel drone back into their capsule form. She then pop another capsule, revealing another drone bot which was quite different in shape comparing to the one she wielded earlier. It's function was also different, being one to provide support in combat rather than attacking another. The drone shone a bit of bluish ray of light on the raven-haired woman as if to scan her for damages and then moving towards the android next before it finally beeped when it was over. "Here, have this senzu bean. That ought to heal up most of your injuries." Audrey said as she pass one to her. Whether or not Meiku decided to accept her gift was up to her, she just hoped that the bot in charge of bringing a spare change of her clothes would arrive already. Unlike Meiku, she didn't exactly have a residence nearby to change her outfit. Cassava |
