At a small round cottage just outside a Namekian village, the morning sun crests the distant horizon leaving beams of light breaking through the cracks of the far-off mountain ranges. Droplets of dew are still clinging to the blades of grass giving the surrounding air a refreshing and almost chilly quality to it. It is quiet out in the remote countryside with the sounds of soft insects still heard on the breeze. This calm is only broken by the rhythmic clang and stirring of dirt from a hoe being driven into the ground and dragged along. Niha grimaces from the strain of the work, toting the heavy tool over her shoulder and marching forward like a proud ox. Her legs buckle underneath her with every step she takes, but she digs her heels into the dirt to keep her footing. The small frame of a girl clearly makes for an inefficient beast of burden, but she pushes through it all the same. So far, eight fresh rows in the soil are the products of her intensive labor. The elderly Namekian Abut is not far off behind her, planting the seeds for fresh herbs and vegetables in the tilled land. They move with a stiff posture and match Niha's slow going pace. Rather than being the result of the wear of exhaustion, however, it appears that they are purposefully carrying themselves with this patient stride. When they straighten up and survey the work accomplished so far, their cloudy eyes rest on Niha finishing up the ninth row. " That is enough for now, Niha." They calmly tell her, their voice gruff and graveled from the years. " The field is nearly finished and you are looking tired. If you could go draw some more water for the well soon, we can pick up where we left off later in the afternoon." Niha blinks out of her focused trance and looks over at Abut over her shoulder. She straightens herself up and nods once, trying to dust off the dirt that mars the bottom of her stockings and shoes. " Okay! I need to go rinse some of the dirt off anyway, I'll take the buckets out and bring some back from the stream." She carries the hoe back to the cottage to prop it up with an array of other simple gardening tools before she strides over to pick up two buckets hanging from a single sturdy pole. She hunches over to awkwardly position it on the back of her shoulders before she waves over at Abut. " I'll try to be back in a couple of hours! Don't do any of the work while I'm gone! I mean it, you know it's no trouble." She did hate how hard Abut would push himself sometimes. Maybe that was why she made it such a point to do all she could to help around his home. Abut simply chuckles and waves her off, turning to head towards the cottage door. " I've survived for years before you arrived, you know. But if you insist. There will be a meal ready by the time you return." The thought of food crossed her mind and Niha could feel her stomach clench with a pang of hunger. She giggles and pushes off the ground, allowing herself to levitate higher in the air, " Mm, that sounds amazing! Thanks!" With that last word of gratitude offered, she starts to jet off towards the lightly forested gathering of trees nearby humming a merry melody in her wake. She dips her shoulder and leans into the flight, using it to adjust her course and fly around the obstacles in her path. At times she even sneaks in a full barrel roll that sparks her to laugh giddily in delight. She loved how free she felt in the skies, it was a feeling that she's yet to be able to match. Alas, it would not take her long until she has to land on the banks of a glistening stream. The pool is clear and unmarred with tiny fish able to be seen flitting about under the surface. It sits at the base of a decently sized waterfall that brings the water in from the mountains. Niha gets ready to unshoulder the buckets for filling, but something gives her pause. There was something out of place that she couldn't quite put her finger on. Her brows knit in concentration as she tries to figure out what it could be. There was a presence of another power level somewhere in the vicinity, one that she had not felt in recent times. It was one that exceeded hers, but she knew that did not inherently mean that she should be worried over it. Niha straightens up and looks around, shielding the excess light from her eyes with a flat hand as she tries to survey her surroundings to see if this unknown being was nearby. WC: 818 Nasch

Niha turns her attention up to the floating figure above her when he comes down from the falls above and she cants her head to the side with a curious expression during his address to her. A small hand is lifted up to return his wave without hesitation or fear of him despite his reserved and awkward mannerisms. Personally, she had stayed on this planet long enough to know for sure that this was not a Namekian, though he confessed as much in his explanation for how he came to be here. He almost appeared to be an Earthling, but his physique was more impressive than the travelers that usually came passing through the distant Port Brief. She also didn't recall them having tails normally, or if they did they usually had much more fur covering their bodies along with other animalistic qualities. Almost without thinking, she begins to float higher abandoning the hefty buckets on the ground so that she can be at eye-level with Nasch before she starts to fly absent-mindedly in slow circles around him to give him a proper inspection. " Hello! My name is Niha, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance sir!" She chirps to the Saiyan in friendly greeting, recalling her manners promptly. She verbally hums out in thought considering the predicament that Nasch is in. " Out of fuel, you say? Well, that just will not do now, will it? I would be happy to do whatever I could to assist you. There is a cottage where I stay nearby here, but I am not sure if my friend has any spare fuel available. Abut does not travel very far these days. If you tell us what it is you need to make this fuel, I can do my best to guide you to where you can find it. If nothing else, there may be something available in the markets. They are not far from the village." She comes to a slow stop behind of Nasch to get a better look at his curled tail. She was almost tempted to reach out and touch it, but she knew better than to push boundaries like that. It looked and moved like it was real, it did not seem like it was a mechanical mechanism of any sort. Not that Niha would know much about one of those just from first glance, but it was hard imagining him being able to move it so effortlessly if it wasn't made from flesh and bone. Niha averts her eyes for the sake of politeness and flies back down to gather up the wooden buckets. " Come, I will lead you there and we can speak to Abut if you wish. He is not as wary of strangers as some are in these parts, I am sure that you two will get along." Niha had known her share of distrust and suspicion in the first few weeks she decided to frequent this planet, but it had never gotten to the point where she had to worry about fearing the people around her. All it took was some time and patience to allow them to know her and they soon accepted her as a normal passing part of their lives. She wanted to allow this man here the same opportunity, to find a friend in what must be a strange place to him. She stoops down by the stream and dips both of them into the water, allowing the natural flow of it to fill them up to the brim. A small grunt escapes her after she straightens up and she starts to fly much more carefully in an effort to avoid spilling their contents. She glances at Nasch to make sure that he's ready to follow her before starting down the path she came expecting him to not be too far from her trail. She bobs and dips looking as if she's struggling to stay aloft and sometimes she quickly jerks to try to save a few drops of water from tipping over in the precarious balancing act she was trying to maintain. " So," She speaks up, attempting to make some conversation along the way, " What has brought you out this way to us? Do you hail from Earth?" She didn't bother trying to ask if he was here to trade. He was strong and most likely a warrior or fighter, that much was plain to see from a glance at him. If it was business that brought him out here to the planet, it was likely business that she did not need to go prying too deeply into right away. WC: 772 Nasch

Niha keeps her head turned to look over her shoulder as she flies listening to Nasch's answers to her questions. It makes parts of the trip more difficult and sometimes she has to swerve suddenly to avoid accidentally knocking herself into one of the trees they pass. She's polite and doesn't attempt to interrupt him, no matter how detailed and awkward some of it gets. A reassuring smile is offered to try to encourage the Saiyan when it seems like he is uncertain. " New Sadla.." She repeats after Nasch, both making sure that she heard him right and trying to see if saying it out loud would jog any memories of it. Niha recalled that she might have heard of it a long time ago, but avoided visiting it due to warnings she received from some passerby of it being a dangerous planet. Particularly due to some of the more violent Saiyans inhabiting it, but Niha felt it best to not mention that part to him aloud. He's probably heard it countless times before and it must get annoying to have to live under a stigma like that. " I think I have heard of it now that you mention it! Never been there myself before. Maybe someday I can try to see it in person! I've heard rumors of the jungles being impressive over there. You're a Saiyan though? You're the first one I've ever met in person. What are your people like?" She hoped that she could get a less biased response coming from the mouth of a Saiyan himself. One that wasn't too marred with ignorance and fear. " Whatever you need to make this fuel, New Namek should have plenty to spare. The lands are as good to us as we are to them in return. I'm afraid, however, that I don't know much about Katchin...but that sounds interesting. I have been wanting to try to find new places to train. Do they allow outsiders?" She looks away from Nasch to look out over the grassy fields as they start to pass the forest's edge, " Most of the time I try to limit my training to things that won't bother the environment or the people. I fly and run all the time until I'm exhausted, I stand with my hands raised under the falls for as long as I'm able, and sometimes I make grass target dummies that I use to try to keep my aim sharp.." Niha wasn't sure why she was telling Nasch all of this. Part of her must hope that maybe he'd have some input to offer on whether these were effective methods, or if she should try to introduce some new methods of training herself. She would always trust Abut to steer her the right way but she needed to be open to variety if she wanted to grow. She tries to hoist one of her buckets higher on her shoulder causing some of the water to slosh out from the side of it. It was Niha's turn to satiate the Saiyan man's curiosity about her now. With a soft, airy laugh she tells Nasch, " I am not, no. On either count. I would say that it is just over a year since I've decided to stay around Abut. Maybe near two or...three years?" She trails off uncertainly trying to figure out a concrete answer. Though Niha is young for her people, having hit a century of being alive the months and years blurred together in ways for her. She had no trouble with keeping up with the memories of her life, but it was difficult for her to pin a specific date onto them. She decides that her estimate is close enough to her liking and goes on to tell him, " I realized that I was missing certain things from my home. A sense of life's reality in a way. Where I come from, it is like a fantasy to most...beautiful pink clouds as far as the eye can see and all sorts of people finding their way there to call it home. There are many that are certain that it is just a myth, but I can hardly fault them for thinking that. Very few get to see it within their lifetimes. Anyway, there has not been any conflict there for some time now...and there was only so much I could learn from listening to my elders and watching from afar...so I set out on my own. To figure things out at my pace and to learn new things about this universe with each passing day." As they start to near the round cottage, Niha hovers to a slow stop over a stone well set into the ground. She lifts the pole and carefully tilts one bucket at a time into the well, letting the water pool into the shadowed depths below. " I was alone and unsure of where to go in the beginning, but when I came here, I met Abut. They gave me a place to stay and we would talk for hours at a time. They were...my very first friend here. They are getting on in age now, so in return, I use what time I linger here doing what I can to help them." WC: 877 Nasch

Niha carries the buckets over to set them down beside the space where Nasch has chosen to lean against the cottage. Normally, she would take two or three trips from the stream to be sure that they had plenty of fresh water stored away, but helping someone in need would have to come before her chores. She dusts her hands clean and lets her attention return to the Saiyan man. Her face subtly falls with disappointment when even Nasch's answer confirms some of the stereotypes she heard, but she tries to keep in mind that the same could be said of many other races out there. She knew that there wasn't such a thing as a singular bad race of people, nor was there a pristine and perfect race. Morality was a spectrum with a murky mire of gray in between the two conflicted poles. Even the divine Shinjin were prone to mortal emotions and flaws. Any of them could succumb to personal corruption if they were too reckless or prideful in their goals and missions. On the other hand, Niha always hoped in the back of her mind that this could mean that there was some way out there to save even the demon-kin from the malice and hatred that fueled them. When Nasch mentions the state of Katchin, she's about to answer him until she notices that he cuts himself off. The small blue-haired woman leans in, her wide eyes on him silently urging him to finish his thoughts. Once he gets his words out, she bounces eagerly in place, " You really think so?" The only problem now was to find the right person that could help guide her during her trip. The answer seemed simple enough to Niha. Katchin was within the Saiyan Dominion's borders and Nasch was a Saiyan and on his way there anyway. " Do you think that...you could be that person? You know, once you have the fuel you need to leave here. I don't know...if there's room on your ship for it or not but..." She hated the idea of trying to impose this potential burden on him, but he was right. There was only so much she could learn on her own and the toll of her training was getting to be very taxing on Abut. He wouldn't be able to keep up with her and support her for much longer. She owed it to them to help him stay safe, who knew what old enemies of the Galatic Patrol could show up hunting them for a taste of revenge. " I promise you won't have to worry about me being a handful or stepping out of line. I don't take up much space, I'm good with following directions. If I could just have a day or so to watch real warriors on the field, then I know there might be something I can learn!" Nasch' mention of Abut leads to her nodding her head in confirmation of the observation. The thought of something happening to them was something Niha couldn't often bear to think about for long. There were no words for how much she would miss the heartfelt conversations they had or the company he provided for her. She did not know what people usually experienced with mothers or fathers, but they would be the closest to either that Niha had ever come across. Besides, her training wouldn't just be to help Abut, but it would help Niha be able to protect everyone else that she held dear in time. The many other people on this planet she fondly watched over, all the new friends that she would meet across the innumerable stars, and her elders in the Other World; they were just a few of the people out there that counted on her to do her best! " Yes." She stammers out bashfully to Nasch, trying to summon up the courage to tell him what she felt needed to be said, " I would do anything to make sure that they were safe. I-I don't like thinking about what could happen...if...if Abut were to get hurt. If anyone here were to get hurt. Right now, I fear that there would be little that I could do to ensure their safety. P-Please, Nasch, if you could help me improve in my training, then I would be in your debt, my friend." WC: 728 Nasch

She couldn't help but think that the man's grin had to be a good sign but she couldn't know for certain until he said it out loud. Niha's eyes track the Saiyan circling her in anticipation, standing in place for the inspection. It was clear he was trying to see if she could handle such a trip, so she stands on the tips of her toes with her shoulders squared back. It might not be able to hide her nearly rail-thin physique, but she did hope that the extra inch or two might be enough to convince him that she wasn't just any light-weight! Just before Nasch could get out the word 'but', Niha springs up high into the air with her Ki pushed out from her feet twisting about with fancy corkscrew maneuvers as she lets out a gleeful cheer into the sky. She was going to get to go to a planet full of real renowned warriors! Well, the Namekians did have their warrior castes that were certainly nothing to scoff at, but the planet was so peaceful that she rarely saw them in action. They were also extremely private regarding the specifics of their regimen and rituals to non-natives of the planet that Niha couldn't really get an idea of how they trained to get stronger. She was going to learn so much from this trip! Wait...what was it that she heard him say just before lift-off? Something about special conditions? Niha decided that it would be a good idea to land and pay more attention to what he was saying. So, she dips down into a nose dive and twists herself up a few feet before the ground so she can come to a skidding stop across the grass. She digs her heels into the dirt and ends up knocking the wind out of herself as the immoveable well interrupts her sliding path. She coughs and wheezes, clutching her stomach trying to catch her breath as she rasps out to Nasch, " You got it. Anything...you say. I'm...ready for the challenge. And I'll stick to you like..." A hacking breath interrupts her before she gets out in a weaker whisper, " Glue." Her breathing gets calmer over time and she's able to straighten herself up. A lop-sided grin shines Nasch's way but a faint purple blush accompanies it. " Can that stay just between you and me? Gosh, I'm just so excited!" She giggles and hops into the air to twirl in place, careful to not go nearly as high this time by only staying about a foot off of the ground. As for signs of scarring or previous battle experience, Niha's skin is a blank canvas of pale blue. If it weren't for the fumble that Nasch just witnessed, it would be easy to think that the young woman hasn't so much as earned a scraped knee in her life. He might have his work cut out for him. Niha gingerly touches a single toe to the ground before settling on both of her feet, reminded of their current mission! " Oh, yes, yes! Abut is inside! This way!" She jogs quickly over to the cottage door and swings it wide open to head inside. The interior is more spacious than it might seem from the outside due to the domed exterior. The back of the cottage has a tiny kitchen space reserved with the barest of essentials, a couple of comfortable mats are laid out in the center of the sitting room, and a single door is off to the side that may hide the sleeping quarters. Niha gestures about widely with her hands for Nasch, " Welcome! This is the main room where I sleep. And...there's Abut in the kitchen!" Niha is quick to spot the elderly Namekian in the back of the room, grumbling and hitting the top of a pot that's boiling over with an odd smelling mound of foaming green bubbles. Abut jolts after Niha's explanation, putting a hand to their chest before smiling tentatively. " Ah, welcome back. The food will take a while longer still, some...complications arose. And...who might this be?" They crane their head to try to get a better look at Nasch with squinted eyes. A subtle frown sets on their wrinkled face, but Niha skips over to lead Abut away from the pot to introduce him to the Saiyan properly. " Abut, this is my new friend Nasch. He landed on the planet not too long ago and ran out of fuel. He says that with some help, we should be able to get it flyable again in no time." A deep hum emanates from Abut's throat and he nods his head slowly. " Very well. If they are trustworthy to you, then they are allowed to stay. Please, Nasch was it? Come and sit down and tell us more about what you'll be needing." Abut takes the lead and walks over to claim one of the mats, while Niha flits off into the kitchen to try to fix as much of the mess as she can; starting by taking the ancient pot off of the heat. " This is why I cook!" She calls over her shoulder, barely hiding a snickering laugh before drifting through the room to claim one of the mats and wait for Nasch to share the plan with them. Niha can barely hide her snickering laugh after seeing how cramped and out of place Nasch looks sitting down at the mat with them. Abut glances over at her, smiling subtly before looking back to listen quietly to Nasch. They nod along occasionally with a patient expression to show that they're listening. When the Saiyan finishes explaining the situation, Abut's eyes close and he mulls it over in silence. " I see. Yes, what you seek should lay up in the mountains. There is a small site that's been claimed, dedicated to mining. There are some businesses in Port Brief that require similar fuels and such. They cycle it on occasion and limit the depths they are allowed to excavate to make it easier on the terrain." They exhale and look across at Nasch, " I will set out tonight and speak to the elders to receive their approval. So long as we limit the request to the minimum of what you'll need, you should be allowed to take your equipment up there tomorrow and start collecting." They lift one of their hands to signify a potential complication, " As for compensation that may be required of you, that will be up to the elders to decide. They may request you undertake some physical labor, or ask to make a trade of some sort." Niha smiles and claps her hands together in excitement. " See! I told you that Abut would know just what to do. We'll be off the planet in no time!" She pauses and tells Abut, " Oh, by the way, I think I'm going to be gone for a few days or so. I want to go with Nasch. He's going to be able to help me in my training too! Going to be able to watch a bunch of warriors in action!" Abut raises a brow at Niha and hums from his throat before nodding once. " Very well, you know I will be fine while you are away and you are always welcome here. We can talk about how it went after you've return. Is there anything you'll need for the trip?" Niha shakes her head and starts for another room, " No, no! I should have most of what I need. Just need to pick out a couple changes of clothes. I might still have some food packed, and I'll bring my canteen in case. Be back in just a moment!" She floats up from her seat and walks on light bounding steps into the other room leaving Abut and Nasch alone. Abut breathes out a quiet sigh but smiles calmly at Nasch. " You can relax. You have nothing to prove to me. You seem like a respectable man. Very different than others of your kind that have visited us in years' past. I only ask that you try to be patient with her and help her remain safe." They ask, glancing cautiously where the blue haired girl left to, trying to make sure she doesn't return and overhear the private conversation. " Her heart is in the right place, but well, it does not take much time spent with her to realize that she is not the...typical warrior. I'm not even sure if she would know what to do in a real deadly situation." They drum their fingers across their knee trying to figure out how to best explain it. " I am not certain what she may have mentioned to you. About who she is and where she came from. And it is not my place to speak on her behalf if she hasn't. But sometimes, bless her heart, she tends to attract attention. The wrong sort of attention. Problems might arise, but know that she does not do it on purpose. Unfortunately, it is an unavoidable part of her nature. The only thing that can be done is to be prepared." Abut rises to his feet, extending his hand to offer it out to Nasch. " If we can be in agreement on that much, then we can set you up a comfortable place to sleep for the night in the meantime before I head out. Niha will likely insist that you join us for dinner when I return as well. You may be more appreciative of the gesture than I was in the beginning." They shake their head and tell Nasch, " For now, our home is yours. If you need something, then Niha and I can see to it." WC: 740 Nasch
