Somewhere at the outskirts of East City, past the beautiful temples and lush bamboo forests, was a huge, grassy plain. Light breeze painted fleeting waves across the green scene. Nearby a small waterfall cascaded into a crystal clear lake. The grass here was tall enough to reach to the waist of an average adult. This was a safe haven for all sorts of local species. Various animals, birds and bugs roamed in the safety of the green field. Any eager researcher would simply have to venture into the tall grass and soon a critter might jump out.
Suddenly one patch of grass rustled. Something was slooowly crawling about. Beings with sharp senses could feel a strange energy signature near the spot. It certainly didn’t feel human. There was an odd wavelength to it, the sort of playful tingle that tickled senses and left scanners confused. If one dared to draw close, they would find a bundle of pink hunched over. On a closer glance, it actually turned out to be a bubblegum-colored girl snooping around. Short, pink hair spiked wildly. Golden eyes gleamed with curiosity. Strange holes lined her arms and chest. Her outfit was very light, just a black tube top, matching arm sleeves and shoes, as well as baggy white pants. She looked like a genie that had bounced right out of a storybook. Knowledgeable people might already recognize the telltale traits of a Majin.
Zam honestly wasn’t paying any attention to her surroundings at the moment. You see, she was busy with a super important investigation. She had found these tiny, black bugs with six legs and weird heads. They were walking in a super neat line, clearly headed somewhere. Even the giant looming over their teeny tiny road didn’t stop them. Curiously she gazed down at the marching bugs. Where did they come from? And where were they going? It was a mystery... But detective Zam was on the case! Words: 327 [Total = 327] @null

It was her duty and her pleasure to study the flora and fauna of the planet known as Earth.
It was a strange world in and of itself, playing host to a plethora of species and cultures. Lilica would think such a clash of diversity would be detrimental to the overall well-being of the planet, but being a hub of variance seemed to serve the Earthlings well.
This carried over into the various types of insects and critters that called the planet home.
Lilica touched down in the middle of the grassy field. A soft breeze rustled the long blades of grass, sending sweeping waves rolling through the ocean of grassy knolls. No doubt kept vibrant and teeming with life due to the pool of clear water that resided beside this particular stretch of landscape.
The spongy texture of the surrounding lawns bowed beneath her light steps. Lily was careful not to crush anything beneath her foot, pausing every so often to kneel and scan a skittering critter, searching the vastness of her databases to discover, discern, and log all of her findings.
In truth, it was less a directive from her Suzerain and more of a desire of her curious nature—if an android could be possessed of such things.
An alert piqued on her built-in HUD, catching Lily's attention. She slowly raised to her full height, the wind tugging lightly at the livery of her Albarican uniform.
"Scanning premises."
She swept her gaze as her radar switched to short-range mode. Most of the energy signatures were too minuscule to register, until she came across one that stood out among the rest. It wasn't the normal energy signature of a typical Earthling. Curious, her feet left the ground as she floated along via the small propulsion engines on the soles of her feet, hovering some distance above the ground.
"Target acquired. Moving to engage."
She neared the strange pink subject, her blue gaze sweeping over the individual. They seemed engrossed in the activity of a line of ants, marching to and fro, bits of grass and tiny pebbles clutched in their pincers.
Lily did not want to seem rude or abrasive, so as she landed once more upon the ground, hands held before her in prim and proper fashion, she waited what seemed a decent amount of time before engaging the individual.
"I'm unable to find any information on your species, dear creature. Might you be an Earthling, too?" Lily smiled and extended a gloved hand to be shaken. It was considered normal in Earth culture to embrace another with such a gesture. "Might I ask... what are you?"

When the stranger called out, the girl suddenly bounced into the air. A flurry of grass twirled about. Birds chirped a startled tune. A wild Majin appeared! Researcher Lilica was faced with multiple choices. Would she fight or run? Check her bag for useful items? Or maybe she would switch her pok-wait, no, that wasn’t an option here. So instead the researcher chose to talk. That worked.
The startled girl floated a little closer. Sheesh, that had surprised her! She hadn’t even noticed the mystery person approaching. Or felt her... Her golden gaze swept the lady up and down, unsure how to respond to the difficult words. Still, it was polite to answer a question. Smiling broadly, the girl puffed her chest proudly. "Zam is a Majin, is what Zam is!" The non-descriptive answer was underlined with a firm nod. Maybe it wasn’t quite what the stranger had meant, but that was the most she was getting out of the child.
Slowly circling around and round the stranger, the curious creature cocked her head. "Sooo... Who are you?" Actually the word she was looking for was what. She could sense something was... different. "You look like a human, buuut... You don’t feel like a human." Her pale antennae twitched. Once. Twice. Curiously trying to catch a trace of the lady standing right in front of her. Yet she got absolutely nothing. "You don’t feel like anything. Hmmmm..." She couldn’t really put it into words, but it was like... There was nothing there. Just an empty spot.
Wild imagination was already bubbling. What if this person... was a ghost?! Gasp! And that’s why there was no tingle! Zam didn’t like ghosts. Nuh-uh, not one bit. She had watched enough scary movies to know they were all sorts of nasty. So she drew closer very cautiously, squinting at the offered hand. Instead of shaking it, she... poked it. Just a quick, light touch. Poke. The golden eyes blinked, surprised that her hand didn’t go through. Poke poke. Nope, still there and totally touchable. ...Pokepokepoke. Veeerrry suspicious. Poke. Pokepoke. Pokepokepoke.
Lilica's brow raised, her gaze inquisitive. Her extended hand had not been met with the Majin's. Instead, the pink girl had been poking her in the hand for well over a minute.
Was this some new Earth custom Lilica was unaware of?
"Logging data. Earth custom, poking one's hand is an excepted form of greeting."
Her cybernetic mind computed the new information, storing it in the database of her mind. Once she returned to the Albarican base, Lilica would be sure Alva would corroborate her findings by cross-referencing the data she had already complied on Universe 7's Planet Earth. Until then, Lilica logged it for future study.
It was time to return such a proper greeting.
Lily poked the back of Zam's own hand. Once, twice, thrice. A continued motion of gentle prodding with her gloved index finger. Perhaps if one would meander by, they would find it a rather odd sight—two non-humans, standing in the midst of a beautiful, brightly-lit field on a warm afternoon... poking one another in the hand.
Lily used this moment to review the information she had just gathered.
Majin. A sentient, magical creature—typically pink—characterized by their baggy white pants, black shoes, and signature vests. They are known for their love of candy—particularly chocolate, their playful, impish natures, and their short, fiery tempers. Proceed with caution.
"Affirmed. Proceeding with caution."
Lilica paused in her poking of Zam. She stretched out her open palm, engaging the tech-magic flowing through her veins. Red electricity danced along her palm for a moment, and soon, a few pieces of hard candy appeared in her palm.
The android's smile broadened as she offered it to Zam as a form of peace offering.
"I thank you for the information. I assure you it is strictly for study. In answer to your question, you are correct, Majin Zam. I am not a human. I am Combat Unit A.6-2, designation 'Lilica Rhaegar-Heart'. But you may refer to me as Lily." To show herself friendly, keeping in line with the Majin's nature, Lily reached out with her other hand and tapped Zam lightly on the nose in a playful manner. "I'll need to compile more data on your species. Might I entice you for a game or two?"

It was said that she who poked should be careful lest she thereby be poked herself. And if thou prod long at an abyss, the abyss will also prod at thee... Or something like that. The little Majin wasn’t sure what she had expected from this strange lady, but being poked back had not been on the list. Wait, so she too could be poked... The golden gaze widened. Truths of the cosmos were flipped upside down. This changed everything! ...Okay, maybe not, but it did really surprise her and leave her all kinds of puzzled. Also maybe this person wasn’t a ghost after all.
The final layer of wariness was stripped when the stranger revealed the ultimate trump card... Candy. Zam’s stare shifted between the smiling stranger and the offering. Suddenly she lunged at the hand and deftly nabbed the treats with quick nibbles. Nom nom nom, crunch crunch crunch. And it was good! So easily the mysterious lady had one of the most chaotic forces in the universe eating out of her hand. Literally. Between the bites, the childish creature managed to listen too. There were some difficult words there, but... The name of her new friend was Lily, right? Right! She wasn’t quite sure what Miss Lily had meant by 'not human', but she clearly wasn’t a bad person.
Being tapped on the nose got a giggle from the girl. Her bubbly glee only grew at the suggestion. "A game? Ooh, I love games!" Reminiscent of a pink satellite, she orbited around the researcher. "What are we gonna play? Tag? Catch? Hide and seek?" She was simply listing some of her favorites. In truth, she was willing to play just about anything. It was so nice to have an adult who actually wanted to play games. Most people, even Mister Netto and Miss Asuka, were always so busy with work and training... Words: 320 [Total = 1000] @null

Recommended objective: befriend the Majin.
Main objective complete. Establishing secondary objective and gathering resulting data for further analysis.
Her grin stretched in a serene manner, revealing a row of perfect teeth. Of course, Lily could not experience the emotion known as happiness, but she had spent much time learning to emulate which behaviors coincided with particular emotions. Though she felt no joy in her mechanical core, she understood this was the time for it.
Spinning idly in a circle as the Majin floated a full three hundred sixty degrees around her, Lily nodded in response to Zam's enthusiastic response.
"Excellent. We shall begin right away." She wasn't familiar with the games Zam mentioned, but a quick mental probe of the Galactic Hypernet told her all she needed to know. "Those are games Earth children play, correct? Yes, some of those should work just fine."
Lily chewed on her lower lip, pink flesh pliant between her teeth as her cerulean gaze scanned the area. Majins seemed destructive by nature, her data told her. Yet there was little around these parts that Zam could bring any real harm to. And if it came down to it, in the mere minutes they had met, Lily had already devised several stratagem to neutralize the situation. Hopefully, it would not come to that.
"First, let us test your malleability. How far can you stretch? I should like to measure the distance. The further you go, the more candy I can offer."

Much to the Majin’s joy, the nice lady was just as excited to play. She didn’t like waiting, nope. However, the odd question was met with a slow blink. And another. "Stretch...?" Tilting her head, she repeated the word. Imaginary gears were turning, until her expression suddenly brightened. "Then let’s play tag!" Perhaps the simple child had some hidden intellect. In a game where one chased another, being able to stretch far could be demonstrated and utilized to its fullest potential. ...Or more likely she just liked tag and any usefulness to research was just a coincidence. Hard to say.
As soon as the researcher showed any indication of readiness or agreement, the magical creature started flailing excitedly. "It’s simple! You run away first and Imma gonna catch you!" She pointed at the lady then at herself. "And for the rules, ummm..." She looked around at their surroundings before the nonexistent light bulb flashed. "...Ooh, I know. You can’t run outside of this grassy place." The treeline formed an obvious, natural boundary around the area. That gave plenty of room to maneuver. "And no flying in tag, cuz that’s cheating." Playing with the kids of a village had instilled some understanding of fair into her. Some.
"Okay~! Here I come~!"
Suddenly Zam took a swing at the air, but instead of stopping at the end of her reach, the fist just kept going. Like a rubber band her right arm streeeeetched several times its normal length before snapping back. For good measure, she repeated the trick with her left. Swiftly the hands lashed through the air, aiming to tap the lady lightly. Ooh, she got Miss Lily now! For sure! Of course she had no idea that her speed and reflexes were nowhere near the level of an actual machine... Words: 306 [Total = 1306] @null

Storing data: Majin are easily appeased. Further analysis required.
Continuing with secondary objective.
So far her observations of Zam fell in line with the data she had collected. Lily surmised, with further promises of treats, she could continue to encourage the Majin's gracious mood and conduct her study without delay.
It was easy enough to dip and weave between Zam's waggling fingers as she sought to tag her prey. Numbers and data scrolled across her HUD as Lily pirouetted about, as if her limbs were being pulled along to the sound of an invisible melody. This allowed the arms to entangle a bit, yet even then, their pliant and malleable status did not change.
Satisfied, Lilica stopped and allowed Zam to tag her, signaling an end to the first game.
Analysis: First test—Pliancy. Test complete, data stored.
Begin phase two.
"That was a fun game, wasn't it?" Lily smiled, offering up a palm full of hard candies once again. "You're quite skilled at this game, aren't you, Zam? I'm quite impressed. Though it would appear you've managed to tag me... so let's try another game."
Her neural network flooded with more information. Lily located a suitable game.
"This time, we shall engage in a friendly race." She raised a gloved hand, pointing at the nearby lake teeming with squawking ducks and darting fish, scales glinting where it caught the afternoon sun's light.
"First one around the perimeter of the lake wins. Ready? Go!"

Zam was shocked and baffled to see her super clever surprise tag attack miss. And again! The golden gaze narrowed and the pink cheeks puffed. Hmmmmph! She would try even harder. So hard that her wildly flailing arms nearly got tangled in a knot. Didn’t slow down her frantic pace though. Luckily the lady was smart enough to get caught before the child could get frustrated. After all, there were few things in the world more destructive than a Majin’s tantrum... The intense focus erupted into jubilant cheering. "Yaaay! Tag, you’re it!" Usually this was the part where she would run away, buuut it seemed Miss Lily had other plans.
Any quietly brewing insistence on continuing the tag was immediately silenced by the offered sweet treats. The giddy creature was quick to snatch the candies, happily munching and crunching them down. Somehow she still managed to answer though. "Yup yup, I’m the best! I always win! For realsies!" The only times she didn’t win were when her opponent was a cheater. Or a meanie. Sometimes even a cheating meanie. Playing with those kinds of people was no fun at all...
The idea of another game sounded great. Zam nodded eagerly when her new friend asked if she was ready. She crouched ever so slightly. Power surged through her frame. Determination glimmered in her eyes. The word go had barely left the researchers lips when the pink missile took off. Her aura blazed like the flame of a flying firecracker. Grass rustled wildly as she flew past. Reaching the pond didn’t even slow her down, no. She rocketed right into the water with a massive splash. A small rainbow briefly flickered in the air. In her haste, she hadn’t even noticed how well her opponent had performed. Words: 303 [Total = 1609] @null

Zam was little more than a pink blur the moment the words fell from Lilica's lips.
Grasses flattened against the earth as the Majin rocketed toward the lake, sending bits of soil and dirt spraying out in her wake. It stirred up a powerful wind that toss Lily's hair ribbons, and she cupped a hand around one of the braided buns so as to keep the ribbon from unraveling and escaping, her eyes widened in emulated surprise.
"W-Wow."
By the time Lily fired up her own engines and started after her, Zam slammed into the clear water of the lake. It sent streams of water jetting into the air at impact, sparkling in the light of the sun as it cascaded into a spray of water through the air, creating the illusion effect of a rainbow. Quite beautiful, though quite by mistake as well.
There was little point in trying to catch her now.
Lily slowed and landed near the water's edge, waves from Zam's splash lapping against the toes of her brown leather boots. She giggled, fingers lightly covering her mouth to subdue the sound.
Analysis: Second test—Speed. Test complete, data stored.
Begin phase three.
More hard candies materialized in Lily's waiting palm. She offered it out to Zam, who had begun to emerge from the water.
"Excellent. You're surprisingly fast! I never stood a chance against your speed."
The Majin seemed to possess the ego of a young child. It was good to fluff Zam's ego and bolster her confidence. That would aid her experiment. But that meant it was equally fragile, and so while the tests so far were successful, Lily needed to be careful.
"We're nearly done, I promise. Just a few more tests and I should have sufficient data. This next game..."
Scanning the data she'd downloaded, Lily found another suitable game that would serve her purposes.
"How about a game of catch? I'm going to toss something to you, and you have to catch it. Sounds simple enough?"

Direct speed and raw power were the magical creature’s strong points. Agility and control not so much. Luckily crashes meant nothing to her bouncy body. Soon enough the head of messy, pink hair popped up from the water. She spat out a stream of water before glancing around curiously. Did she win? Receiving candy and congratulations immediately had her beaming again. "Yaaay!" Of course she won! She was the best! And never ever lost to anyone at anything! Hopping out of the cool, glimmering water with a splash, she snatched the candies. More happy munching followed as she weightlessly floated around. Sugar was the best! Especially when it was reward for doing stuff!
Zam cocked her head when Miss Lily used more difficult words. "Suh-fee-cent... Da-ta...? What’s that taste like?" Apparently Miss Lily would soon have it? Hm, if it was something good, she wanted some too! But she would pass if it was some healthy adult stuff... Like broccoli. Or beer. Why Grandpa liked that stuff she would never understand. Her expression brightened again when a familiar things was mentioned. "Ooh, I love playing catch!" The researcher probably didn’t realize how fortunate it was that she had suggested it first... Because if the simple-minded Majin got to pick what to throw, safe to say it wouldn’t be a traditional ball...
The energetic girl hovered over the grass, taking some distance to the lady. After finding a spot she was happy with, she turned around and flailed excitedly. "Okay, I’m ready already!" Whatever the lady threw, she would totally catch it! Even if she had to go long! Words: 273 [Total = 1882] @null

"Grrr..."
As much as Lily wanted to keep herself in check, it was becoming increasingly apparent that the Majin species were far more competent than initially realized. Perhaps it was because researchers knew very little about the species—therefore, could only record what little data existed.
Their pliancy was incredible, their speed phenomenal. The fact that Zam seemed to take all of this in stride as one big game worked to Lily's advantage.
Yet on the other hand, it bothered her. She was a sentient android. She understood she had been created—a seamless blend of magic and machine, boasting a power core made of the most durable katchin and metallic alloys, which was powered endlessly by an Albium core.
Strength, speed, agility, dexterity. That only encompassed her physical attributes. It did not account for her mental acuity, advanced scanners and detection software, nor the myriad of protocols that cause Lily to function as the well oiled machine she was.
She knew herself to be superior. But this Majin thus far was outpacing her. The android portion of her obediently collected the data. But the Rhaegar-Heart, the part that made her so closely resemble humanity, wanted to show that androids, too, could be dominant.
"You ready?" Lily inquired, waving over to Zam who waited several meters away. "This is going to be a fast one!"
Cranking her arm as if she were a world series pitcher, red lightning lanced across her palm as she materialized a small cube of katchin.
"Ready or not, here... I... go!"
Rearing her arm back, Lily threw the katchin block with tremendous force, so much so that the concussive winds from the throw left a deep gouge in the earth as it launched at Zam.
Let's see her catch that!

Zam could barely stay in place, practically vibrating with excitement. "Yup, I’m ready!" Excited flailing was doubled. The promise of a fast one only fueled her eagerness. "Come on, throw already!" The concept of be careful what you wish for was completely lost on her. While the Miss Lily prepared, she crouched a little and mimicked a pose she had seen used in ball games on TV. Her hand stretched to resemble a catcher’s mitt too. She was blissfully ignorant of just how much power one could put into a simple toss. Especially with the unusual material being used...
Comparing the throw to a cannon would have been an understatement. Grass rustled as the blurry projectile whistled through the air. Unfortunately katchin was one of the strongest materials in the universe. Pitting it against a bouncy creature resembling a marshmallow ended pretty much exactly as one would expect. She tried her best to catch it, struggling against the immense impact, but the the sharp corner of the cube tore right through her hands. With a rubbery snap the projectile pierced her torso as well, leaving a grievous hole in its wake. She blinked and gave her ripped hands a puzzled look. Her weak voice wavered with disbelief.
"I... went... through...?"
Suddenly the girl’s expression soured. The cheery smile vanished and the golden eyes narrowed into a glare. "That... That’s cheating!" Not to worry though, her body was already regenerating, pulling itself together without a scratch. Even her ruined top was restored like nothing had ever happened. Puffs of steam whistled, rustling her hair as she aimed an accusing point at the researcher. "You’re supposed to throw a ball! A round thing! That was a sharp thing!" ...Yes, because clearly that was the main issue here. Words: 300 [Total = 2182] @null
