Pepa

Saiyan

HEIGHT/WEIGHT.
4’11
APPEARANCE.
MOTIVATIONS.
Pepa has three key motivations:
Fame: Say it with me people. Like. And. Subscribe. If you do something and nobody knows about it, you might as well not have done it at all. Notoriety is the only currency that matters in the universe, and if your name is going to be in the mouth of others? Make sure it has teeth. The only thing that matters in this world is what people say when you are dead; leaving a legacy is the only form of immortality we’ve got, and without being remembered? Who cares who you were.
Pride: Perhaps it is her Saiyan blood, but Pepa’s pride won’t allow her to back down from a challenge. She can be considered arrogant, even, but the truth is that Pepa was a low-class warrior, and she spent much of her early life being told that she’d never amount to anything. Now that she has proven beyond any reasonable doubt that this is not the case, she’s determined to push through any and every obstacle in her way and prove the world wrong. Her pride is a powerful motivating factor, and keeps her going when the journey gets rough.
Boredom: The fact is, the universe can be a pretty dull place. You know what most of the universe is? Nothing! That’s just a straight up science fact. Pepa is a thrill-seeker and adrenalin junkie, always happy to experience something new, and always eager to seek out excitement wherever she might find it.
QUIRKS.
Pepa uses Spacebook and Z-Net constantly to livestream and maintain a continuous running stream of her day to day activities and battles. She’s even got a modified scouter so that she can mentally dictate and post up commentary and annotated images of her fights. Social media is a way of life for her.
BONDS.
Pepa has a galactic following of 1.8 million people, with more joining daily! Feel free to become one of her subscribers and pay 400 zeni for a sweet exclusive shirt!
BACKSTORY.
Pepa was a Saiyan warrior of little promise and less natural talent. At a very early age she was pushed out to the edges of Saiyan space in order to work as a guard at a tiny outpost in the middle of the galactic boonies. She hated it, but she knew that the military was one of the few ways she could gain any kind of glory for herself, and she wanted glory more than anything.
To entertain herself, Pepa took to creating a Spacebook account where she detailed the trials and tribulations she faced as a low-level guard. She was reprimanded several times for sharing details which were just not cool to share for a nominal member of the military. Her superiors didn’t really care, though, and whilst she caught a beating for it a couple of times (Saiyan disciplinary procedures being what they are) it wasn’t nearly enough to stop her.
As she grew in popularity, she found it a greater and greater source of motivation. The more followers she got, the more she trained; the more she shared the training regime she was following, the more followers she got. It became a feedback loop which saw her grow to heights of power that nobody could possibly have predicted of a low-class warrior.
When her superiors learned that she not only hadn’t shut down the account but had in fact breached 100,000 followers, they were furious. She was brought in, and they demanded that she delete the account right there in front of them. To her surprise, she refused.
The fight that followed was … intense. Pepa was brought to her knees by her Commander. Whilst they were very close in power, he had the edge on her in experience and tactical know-how. Then, as he took her communicator and prepared to delete the profile himself… she was filled with even more power.
The spectacle of the first Super Saiyan to ever Ascend in the middle of a livestreamed fight propelled Pepa to giddy new heights of popularity which are only growing day by day. Of course, the fact that she beat her Commander black and blue served as a rather… final, way for her to hand in her resignation, but she doesn’t need the job any more anyway. There’s a whole galaxy out there to explore, and whole new depths of power she hasn’t even begun to discover.
CALL TO ACTION.
Becoming a Super Saiyan has kind of meant that she can’t avoid adventure any more. The whole universe feels like it is screaming at her to discover it; who is she to deny the people what they want?
