CLASSIC CAT It had been days since the experimental drug 'Cyclone' had been introduced to Kuueru's body. The woman's mutated cells fought off the invasive drug, yet something shifted. The very DNA structure of Kuueru shifted, and the demonic parts of her, merged into whatever else inhibited her bloodstream. With it, her appearance changed. Her, natural form was altered now; not the pink-haired woman everyone had come to know. This Kuueru had hair as dark as night. She sported two ivory horns which twisted around the crown of her head. Her body was fuller, her hips filling an alabaster dress with some wiggling involved. The demoness's eyes had shifted to a pale yellow which seemed filled with desperation. Whatever happened during that experimentation, changed the demon? If that even what she was now as a result. She hadn't slept, she hadn't eaten. Kuueru sat in her office, her fingers idly tapping against the mountain of paperwork that lie waiting for the Captain to sign. Despite the odd transition, the strength she had felt since, and how wild her mind was; the woman still had to carry on her day to day life. That meant Imperial duties, leading Hollow, as well as more personal endeavors. Kuueru needed a drink. Though, she was never the heaviest drinker. Lately it was all she could do to quell the thoughts in the back of her head that she might be something holier. She stood from her desk, her frame pacing the length of the office for a few laps. Something was off. She felt as if, she was being watched. "Hm?" Kuueru turned, her golden orbs seeking out the oddity in the air. Yet, nothing seemed amiss. She turned back towards the window, her eyes looking over the nightscape of Mitra. Brilliant lights painted the horizon in a bath of color. There was a bit of rain falling, it set a certain type of mood. Perhaps drinking at home was the type of night she was having.

"Kuueru?" It was more of a question than anything else. A male voice, soothing and gentle, laced with an undertone of uncertainty. The very air began to vibrate and shimmer within the still quiet, humming and buzzing as the tall Shinjin appeared in the midst of her office. He dropped his invisibility spell, allowing himself to become fully visible. His jaw hung slack at the sight of her. The very shadows seemed to retreat from the piercing blue of his divine gaze as it slid over her body, drinking her in as one who thirsted, desperate for a much desired sip. "Kuu..." His words faltered as he took a step toward her, the silk curtain of his ebony hair shifting with his movement. He raised a hand, as if to reach and touch her, but thought better of it. "W-What... H-How...?" Could this be the same Kuueru? The same half breed he had long since called ally and friend? It had been centuries since he'd last seen her. Korr heard the unsettling rumors about her new station. But he could not be inclined to believe them. She had never been the sort to cherish any sort of heavy responsibility. And Queen of such a place as Hollow? Even now, his own divine aura struggled with the latent demon energy suffusing the air around them. The old adage stood true. Light and darkness could not mingle—for one must always repel the other. But that had never been true for Kuueru, had it? It was one of the most fascinating things about her, and why Korr often believed she was his greatest advocate for reconciliation between the Kais and the rulers of demonkind. Korr wasn't sure what he expected. But this certainly wasn't it. "...what happened to you?" His eyes narrowed in concern, with a hint of suspicion. "Are you truly Kuueru? Your energy is familiar, and yet... it isn't. Tell me—where is my companion?" Queen Kuueruword count: 325 / 325

CLASSIC CAT The voice cut through the air like butter. It soothed her worries, if only for a brief moment. Kuueru stood her heels flat upon the marble tiling of her floor. She second guessed herself, worrying that perhaps the stress was getting to her. Yet, the voice, it was familiar. Something about the softness, the worry, it was nostalgic. The dark-haired demon turned, her eyes still searching for the disembodied voice. There was a bit of a shimmer, a shift in the air, and then suddenly a man. Curious yellow hues locked onto this tall intruder, his soft yet yearning blue eyes only hoping that she was indeed Kuueru. There was clear disbelief, but she couldn’t blame him. Whoever this was, carried the blood of a Shinjin. His body moved with the same eloquence and grace that they were known for. She remembered the man, but the centuries of time passed left a lot of questions left unanswered. Even those with immortal lifespans aged, albeit slowly. Kuueru now had fine lines beside her eyes when she smiled, her temper had quelled with age, she was more mature---yet since Cyclone, the woman was something of an enigma. Not even the demon herself could predict her next move or impulse. She had no restriction, no safety belt for her brash actions. All the years of work to maintain a normal guise amongst mortals was failing. She was returning to the beast of a person she once was. "...What happened to you?"
His voice carried clear concern. He even managed to refer to the woman as his companion. Yet, she was having trouble remembering him. To be honest, she didn’t have many of her memories before being expelled into the likes of the demons. “I am Kuueru, yes.” The woman affirmed, her dull gaze leveling on the taller man. “You, Kai, why have you come here?” A simple question, but the woman’s guard was certainly up. She pulled from his reaching hands, his silken robes, and his intrusive gaze. Her back turned towards the man, her eyes shifting back to the night sky. “Are you here to drag me back? Subject me back to that hell?”

t was the same cool tone he'd come to recognize. Not so warm as to assume kinship, yet not so icy so as to freeze out the possibility. Kuueru had always been an enigma in his estimation—blowing hot and cold predicated upon the nature of her ever-shifting moods. It reminded Korr of an ocean's tides—the gentle waves of friendship lapping calmly at your shores one moment, a torrential hell of stinging rain and turbulent waters the next. It was the duality of nature. It was the very balance Korr had long sought between his brethren. Kuu embodied his every hope, goal, and dream. And yet here she stood... herself, but not. "Do not suppose I've come to drag you to any sort of hell. You know that isn't how I do things." He took her words as an invitation to draw nearer, stepping to her side as he, too, peered over the city landscape. The fabric of his shoulder nearly rubbed against hers. There was a static charge in that miniscule space between them, one Korr wasn't sure he wholly liked. "I examine the evidence, hear the side of all parties involved. Then, and only then, do I issue my directive. You should know this, Kuu... we've known each other for a very, very long time..." He turned, his azure gaze examining the smooth delicacy of her face, her arms and hands. She looked nothing like his longtime friend. But her aura was unmistakable. Her scent, ever exotic, threatened to lull his senses into a dreamy, subdued state. Cheeks flushing, he turned away to observe the bustle of the city once more. She always did know how to fluster him. An unsettling thought struck him then. Kuu had always greeted him with a diving tackle in the past. "...you don't know who I am, do you?" CLASSIC CAT The man answered her after a brief stent of silence. This stranger proclaimed that he wasn’t here to take her prisoner, nor force her out of the mortal realm. No, he informed her that such things weren’t handled by him in such a brash way. He stated it with an conviction; as if the Demoness were supposed to know this long-haired man’s habits. Alas, she was still at a loss. Normally, one would be disturbed by the sudden appearance of some magical being in their room. Yet, Kuueru welcomed it. Truth be told, it had been a long while since the woman had even laid eyes on one of his kind. His radiating warmth soothed her goosebump covered skin as she wallowed in his words. For whatever reason, the man took her reply as an invitation to join her side. She didn’t mind. The woman had spent most of the past few weeks in solitude. Kuueru only tore her attention away from the experiment with busywork and ruling duties on Hollow and Mitra. Whatever the coming of this enigmatic man of the past could bring, surely it would also distract her from the turbulence within her own soul. Just for a moment. Her body shifted away from the mere contact of his silken robes with her bare shoulder. Something about his presence made her uneasy, yet he appeared to be a calm and gentle man. Regardless, he spoke of their knowledge of one another as something ongoing and rich with history. Whatever kind of magic spell or amnesia playing tricks on her memory began to irritate Kuueru. Idly, she gnawed at her lip while trying to shift through centuries of thoughts and puzzle of recollections. Still, try as she might, the demon couldn’t place this man. For the briefest moment he turned to her. His gaze lingered, his cheeks flustered. The feelings he thought he carried for ‘Kuueru’ surely had to be simply a coincidence. How common was her name after all? Yes he was concise, his words pained. He wasn’t lying about a thing he said, at least, she couldn’t detect it. Finally he acknowledged it. He finally understood that she hadn’t a clue who he was to her. She captured his face as the last bit of red fled his cheeks. He now seemed defeated. The woman rested a hand upon his shoulder and its elaborate robes. Kuueru’s lips parted as she managed to discover something to develop the conversation. “You seem to know me though. Bizarre. Why are you watching me? Doesn’t someone have you on a leash?” Kuueru replied snidely. Though, her shoulders ultimately slumped and the black-haired beauty turned to meet the gaze of his azure eyes. “You speak truthfully. Just explain to me. . . who you are? Why would I ever conglomerate with your kind?” Her words wavered as she questioned herself and her past.

er words were so formal. So unlike the Kuueru he had come to know and admire. They held an undertone of suspicion—the standard sort often shared between Shinjin and Demons. So much enmity spanning the breadth of thousands of years. And yet it often seemed Korr was no closer to reaching a resolution. The Supreme Kai did not hold to Korr's same ideals. He believed Korr better served as a watchful guardian than seeking to bring about a change that would never happen. Any who knew Korr knew he never gave up nor turned his back on those in need. "This isn't like you." He turned to face her, sparing all of his attention. "This isn't the Kuu I've come to know and—" Korr stopped himself. He could never bring himself to admit the truth before. This was not the time to do so. He cleared his throat, squaring his shoulders in a manner befitting of his divine station. "I am Korr, just one of a handful of potential Supreme Kais. You are Kuueru, possessed of a divine and demonic nature. One of the few of your kind, extremely rare even among us gods. We're friends. Or, well, we used to be..." What were they to each other now? It had been centuries since they'd seen each other, and with this current conundrum, Korr could not hope to have retained such a status with her. Daring to act bold in order to jog her memory, his hands grasped her face on either side. His eyes seemed to glow in the soft moonlight as he peered into her own. "You must remember... I am your oldest friend, Kuu. We grew up together in Other World. No one, not even Shin, could decide what to do about your dual nature. You were eventually sent to Demon Realm... and I've not heard from you since. Kuueru... you must remember. I... I need your help." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

CLASSIC CAT The demoness sighed. Her exhausted gaze kept flickering between Korr and her view of the time on Mitra ticking away. Darker and darker the skies grew until the dim lamps dotting her office furniture flickered on as if on a timer was set for this time of day. The usually straightforward and neat office lowered its professional standards. The area was now cozy, despite many a stress and worry bothering the woman. She was a bit taken aback by the other’s forwardness. He adjusted her head, fixating her sight on him as he spoke. A soft fluster of pink managed to grace her pale cheeks for the first time in a long time, she was quick to compose herself however. “Ah, some ghost of the past who assumes they know who I am?” Kuueru replied coldly, her lingering scowl ever-present. It wasn’t that she was annoyed, but the chemicals in her system certainly weren’t helping her volatile mood. She had lashed out at subordinates, friends, even those she regaled as family. No one was safe from the wrath of the demoness now shifted to something else. Introductions came. The woman stood still, a cold sweat enveloping her frame. He mentioned his origins and backstory which were normal of his kind. Yet, when he spoke of her he hit the nail on the head. He was very aware of both the holy and chaotic that wrestled within her body. Now she was concerned. Brows knitted as she mentally tried to deduce why a Shinjin was knocking on her door. Well, if he had actually knocked that is. Then, he explained that they were indeed friends, albeit from centuries passed. “Friends with you? How is that something possible?” Kuueru inquired, her face displaying her disbelief. “W-Whoa” the demoness mumbled as his warm hands cupped her cold skin. She had no choice but to stare him dead in the eyes now. Yet, she wasn’t sure why this man was so physically and emotionally involved. Did she really have so close of a friend? Korr pleaded again. His desperation was crystal clear. Yet, nothing sparked in the mind of Kuueru. “I have no recollection of the other bits of Other World, I’m sorry Korr,” the demoness spoke earnestly to the shinjin. It was odd to hear of a life she couldn’t remember though. Even Shin was concerned about her path? Yet, he was so willing to cast her out. Her fists clenched as she tried to calm the storm of sorrow in her heart. Still, the woman remained in the beckoning hands of Korr. “I’m sorry. Please though, I want to know more! I…I feel like I should trust you Korr. You of all the others chose to befriend me despite my circumstances. You must be a decent person, right?”

e could see the turmoil in her eyes, hear the struggle in her voice. She emanated an aura of ambivalence. Part of it the natural disposition of a demon towards a Shinjin. They were diametrically opposed in their nature, their desires, and their inclinations. The fact Kuueru had not tried to tear him to pieces the moment he revealed himself spoke volumes of her character. Even if she did not remember, due to whatever unnatural transformation had taken hold... The real Kuu was still alive in those honeyed eyes of hers. This was what informed Korr of the choice he would need to make. Releasing her face, he slipped his nimble fingers into her grasp, clasping both of her hands within his own. "As you wish. I will show you where you come from, and where our journey began." A surge of power flooded the room, white sparkling aura filling the tight space. It grew far too bright to see, far too warm to even breathe properly. The strange phenomena would last only a moment. Soon, cool wind would tug at their hair and clothes as they stood upon the air, surrounded by pink skies that stretched from horizon to horizon. Tall grasses stirred far below them, thick plumes of tree canopies branching out into the skies, bearing an odd assortment of appetizing fruit that perfumed the air. A sense of tranquility surrounded them. For Korr, this place was home. "The Sacred World of the Kais. I could get into a lot of trouble bringing you here... but I want you to see how much I believe in you." He released one of her hands, his other still clasping tight to her fingers. "We played here numerous times before your banishment. We ate of that fruit. Drank of those rivers and streams. Received instruction from Elder Kais in the nuances of our complex universe... please. You must remember. This was your beginning, as it was mine." ISHY of THQ & ADOXOGRAPHY

CLASSIC CAT All she had to do was ask. The Shinjin man quickly took ahold of her hands. His fingers intertwined with hers, dancing in tandem with one another. It was only for a moment however. Then suddenly the light came. Waves of white so blinding and filled with specks of glitter led them away. When the woman finally managed to gain sight again, then she saw it. The soft pink atmosphere, filled with clouds that were the fluffiest. The sprawling landscapes all were seemingly untouched by mortal hands. It was a stark contrast to the cities and lands found on a place like Earth. The scent hit her. It was sweet, natural, and sprawling from corner to corner of this place. It was like a constant perfume of life being breathed into this world unlike any other. Kuueru stood there in awe for a moment. This man, Korr, said that this is where not only her, but their adventure began. He spoke of all the things they did, of all the memories that should have been in her head. She took a few steps forward, taking in all that was but a single place in such a grand realm. A realm, she supposedly had stood in before. She felt dirty. Dirty for being in a place so, sacred. So unlike what she had come to know. He lamented about the troubles he could face for bringing a literal demon to other world. Alas, she had hoped that they wouldn’t be bothered today. She wanted to enjoy this trip in peace. The demoness tainted with Shinjin blood walked towards the riverside. Her eyes were focused on the trees housing the strong smelling fruits. The woman flew up, her body shifting through the air with ease as she picked a single fruit from the branches. Her curve graced body then descended as she came face to face with her guide. “We played here?” Kuueru started putting the pieces together. They were both young then to be playing. “Say, just how . . . young were we? How young was I banished from here?” Kuueru looked to him, the fruit firmly within her grip as she desperately slung out a fishing net of questions. She hoped to at least reel in some answers that could help. “W-What if someone finds us? I can’t have you getting into trouble on my…conscious.”
