The Great Saiyan Divide
New Sadla, Fort Renegade
The jungles of New Sadla were something to behold, if one were to take the time. The humid, dense nature of the jungles. The twisting trees, the blazing sun. The dangerous animals. To most species the dangers of the unexplored wilderness would be enough to ward most people, and keep the general populace within the safe confines of their little society. However, those species weren’t Saiyans.
Saiyans enjoyed the hunt, and the danger. Reveled in the blood rush and adrenaline it provided. And the last thing they would do is let unexplored wilderness and fear of the unknown drive their thinking and actions. The jungles were uncharted? Then it was time to venture into the deep and chart them. Dangerous predators? More like that night’s dinner. The Saiyan Dominion, in the days of Queen Radia, had ventured out across the planet, constructing military bases along the jungles. By learning the terrain, the dense foliage would provide perfect cover as well as a natural defense. In addition, they could position these bases along vital resources needed for survival.
Fort Renegade was such a base. Once dubbed Fort Victory, the military base was one of the first of its’ time under the direction of Queen Radia, directed under General Aragula, Saiyan War-Hero and former Oozaru Special Forces officer. Once a symbol of Saiyan pride, and the mark of a new era for the Saiyan species. But now...a different aura surrounded the base.
“Are the preparations ready?” General Aragula inquired, poised by the window in the command center of the base, overlooking the massive jungle that surrounded them. The dim lighting of the room cast a shadow over his features. He was a stocky man, standing at around five feet eleven inches. His race’s trademark wild, black hair stood up in all angles, ultimately resting upon his shoulders. Drawing his greyish-blue cape over himself, the Saiyan General raised his right hand slowly, signaling the messenger behind him to speak.
“Preparations are ready, General. Our men inside the communications center are ready to send and redirect the signal when you are. All they need is the word to move.”
General Aragula simply nodded in response, his head not even turning to meet the gaze of the messenger. The time had finally come. For too long Aragula and his loyal soldiers had shifted about in the shadows, their doubts never-ending towards the Saiyan Queen who built them up to the peak of their glory. Since her death, more than four months of work had brought about more of a change then he could have ever imagined. He had built this much in such a short time, and now the time had come to bring his plans to a head. The Saiyan Dominion was dead. Within the span of one Queen’s reign, the Saiyans were uplifted to the highest platform, from simple barbarians and warring clansmen, to a unified military force with an agenda to spread their might across galaxies. And in the very last weeks of her reign, one speech dissolved everything that the Saiyans had fought for. Bled for...died for. And in her moment of ultimate weakness, she perished, like the spineless worm she was all along. How fitting.
And now what? The Saiyans had a change of heart and were now bound to pursue peace? Speak before other foreign superpowers and hope they all joined hands and sing Kumbaya? Would that wipe the slate clean? Would the spirits of lost Saiyans be redeemed?
Worry not. I am your Avenger. I am your savior. I am your King.
“Begin Transmission. Broadcast to all available assets. Keep the channels private. I don’t need Onyon getting wind of this yet.” Aragula ordered to his messenger. A cacophony of voices sounded as orders were thrown around, and people rushed to and fro to their stations. Both the engineers based in Fort Renegade, and the undercover turncoats within the New Sadla Communications Station would have to perform perfectly. They only had one shot at the entire operation. As much as they were prepared to act, they weren’t prepared for a drawn out conflict with the Saiyan Kingdom. The Divide lacked resources, battleships, a base of operations. Soldiers. But, that was to be remedied soon.
“Connection Established! Sending signal to all documented assets!”
There is no going back.
“Greetings to you all from across the galaxy. I am General Aragula, former servant of the Saiyan Dominion, and a former commander within the Oozaru Special Forces. I am a patriot, a loyalist to Saiyan glory. If you are receiving this message, it is because I deem you worthy of notice, and figure you a like minded individual. As you all may know, Radia, former Queen of Saiyans, decreed that the Saiyans sacrifice all holdings, and shift into a ceasefire! That we bow before the major galactic powers in pursuit of false peace. That we do what other major galactic forces simply refused to do. And in the end, she was killed, leaving us in disarray. New Sadla and the surrounding systems remain, while the Kabochan Confederacy and Galactic Empire restructure themselves. We stand noble as some false prophet of peace, while everyone else prepares to destroy us! You think the Galactic Empire is simply going to turn over a new leaf? The Confederacy? Emperor Polaris wanted us dead! Millions of Saiyan lives, gallons of Saiyan blood spilled during his vendetta of vengeance! Ultramarines marched in seas of blood, our brethren killed in campaigns to save ourselves! Are we meant to forget their sacrifice? Are we meant to shrink back, and prove to the rest of the galaxy that the Saiyans are a race of cowards?”
Aragula paused for a moment, shifting his cloak from around him. The man was getting heated now, the passion of the moment propelling him forward. He allowed the question to hang in the air for a moment, before once more continuing on his tirade.
“The answer is simple. Absolutely not! What I desire is simple. Radia and her lineage was meant to serve as the stepping stone us Saiyans needed! Before, we were disorganized, simple mercenaries looking for a thrill. Warring tribes with no vision before them! Radia pulled us together. She built the Saiyan Dominion! She was the pulling force, the unifier. From there, that was her purpose. Thus, I demand the beginning of a new royal line! Radia brought us together, and now we shall crusade across the stars as a unified force of Saiyan might! The galaxy will look upon us and tremble! No more shall we be helpless. If you seek to join the struggle, the fight for a Saiyan rebirth, then join me! Join me as we move to colonize Planet Vegeta, the place where it all began. The holy land, that holds the same name as the legendary Prince Vegeta! If you are to join the battle, contact me personally upon a secure holo-frequency, and I will provide you with the specific details and coordinates for your first mission. Together, we stand defiant in the face of weakness! Together, we stand united! All Hail the Dominion! All Hail the New Order! For the Saiyan Race! End Transmission.”
And with that, the message was sent across the galaxy across private channels. The Saiyan Divide was not yet prepared for a public message declaring their succession from the Kingdom. However, Aragula had painstakingly created a list of assets, a list of potential allies that could help the Divide in their mission. Most were Saiyan, yet some were not. Aragula was a champion of Saiyan pride and nationalism, yet when it came to open rebellion, he couldn’t necessarily be picky about who he was taking. He only hoped that the feedback he received would be as positive as he predicted. This plan was like a house of cards, and he knew it. One piece out of place, and the entire thing could collapse. But the reward for victory was too sweet to pass up. Turning on his heel, General Aragula moved to exit the command center, out into the hot and humid jungles outside.
Like the Phoenix of legend, New Sadla must burn before being rebirthed from the ashes.
