Somewhere on Papaya Island...
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! LEND ME YOUR EARS! WELCOME TO THE SIXTY EIGHTH ANNUAL HOWLING TEMPEST MARTIAL ARTS TOURNAMENT!" The announcer bellowed over the mic, the screams of the crowd in the ornate and well crafted bleachers filling the air. It was near deafening, but one could hardly get annoyed at such a scene. Especially not the competitors. You see, Papaya Island was, much like East City, a martial arts city. The island was well known for the historical World Martial Arts Tournament, a tournament noted to be the site for many of the universe's greatest warriors over the centuries. Rumor had it that even the legendary Z-Fighters, and the all-powerful Mr. Satan himself had proven themselves within those halls. It was to be considered an honor these days to even make it past the preliminaries.
Was this the World Martial Arts Tournament? Oh honey, you wish.
Papaya Island was host to quite the plethora of tournaments, the arena brawl matches proving to make up quite the revenue for the host dojos. Typically in arenas such as this, the dojo that hosted typically pushed ahead their own warriors as a method of testing their prowess against warriors from across Earth. The same rang true for the Howling Tempest World Martial Arts Tournament, home of the Howling Tempest Martial Arts School. Attracting martial artists from across Earth, the Howling Tempest was one of the biggest martial arts tournaments in the quadrant.
And today, it had attracted the attention of one Majin Khoshai. Normally, he wouldn't be interested in something like this, given that he would much rather run around in some field for hours, or buy everything in a candy store and eat that for breakfast. But his master and caretaker, Tora wanted him to become more experienced in dealing with other martial artists, and thus had assigned him to sign up for the Howling Tempest Tournament, confident that he could tear his way through the tournament without getting seriously hurt, and perhaps even win while he was at it, while learning how to better control his power. And when it came to anything Tora said, Khoshai listened. Tora was like a surrogate father to the little Majin, the human martial artist taking the boy under his wing, providing him shelter and caring for him as if he were his own. Khoshai tried to repay him the best he could by being as obedient as possible and keeping his antics relatively low.
Thus, he was here.
"Big Brother Tora said I gotta fight these people....but some of them look scary..." He muttered under his breath, his eyes flitting back and forth between some of the more massive martial artists, most notably the animal-type Earthlings, who simply looked threatening, even if their combat ability didn't back it up. But like Big Brother Tora said, tournaments like this was basically just like the fighting games that he and Tora usually did on Tiger Island, but just in a different place. And Khoshai liked those, so maybe this would be fun!
"ON ONE SIDE WE HAVE A MYSTERIOUS PINK SKINNED FIGHTER FROM THE FAR EAST! MAJIN KHOSHAI!"
That was him! With a skip in his step, the child Majin bounded down to the hallway before flipping up to the platform, grinning from ear to ear as the crowd cheered his name. He even waved a bit as people admired how adorable he looked.
"AND ON THE OTHER SIDE WE HAVE ANOTHER MYSTERIOUS FIGHTER FROM A PLANET FAR OFF! LO AND BEHOLD, NULL!"
His opponent.
His grin sustained, Khoshai turned to face his opponent. As he approached, he even offered the Saiyan Warrior a small wave.
"Hey Mister! You seem really strong! Do you wanna play with me for awhile? My name's Majin Khoshai, and lookie, I'm strong too!" He said, before he spread his arms out, his body suddenly enveloped in a ferocious pink, sparkling aura. It was near dazzling in it's mystical looking, majestic magenta color. And with such a burst of energy came a dramatic exponential increase in strength, with Khoshai's own power level bursting past what was believed to be his past limitations, throwing out powerful gusts of wind into the crowd. However, the Majin's Ki Signature was rather...peculiar. It was constantly ebbing and shifting, like a running current. His power level, if one were to reach out and sense him, would shift between highs and lows. One moment he would be dramatically powerful, the next his energy level would plummet to below one hundred thousand. It was...strange, and hard to determine how powerful he was. But, one thing was clear.

Eyes widening, he took an unsteady step backward.
It was involuntary, the sheer pressure of the creature's staggering power level forced him backward. What was it with all of these ridiculously strong warriors he kept encountering lately? First Dain Sincara, and now Majin Khoshai?
Did he even have a prayer of winning such a battle, against such an opponent?
He supposed it was a matter of perspective. After all, he wasn't completely useless. Spreading his feet apart, his heart thrummed against his ribs as excitement and fear flooded his being. Clenching his fists, Null steeled his resolve, staring across the expansive tiled floor at his opponent for this match.
"That's the beauty of us Saiyans... the stronger the opponent we face, the stronger and better we fight. And you're plenty strong. So this should be a good fight!"
He let out a war cry, exploding in a flash of brilliant light, forcing the eyes of those closest to slam shut against it. Another immense aura flooded the arena, a golden halo of swirling aura ensconcing Null. Arching a blonde eyebrow, he slipped into a defensive stance, squaring off against Kho.
"You're clearly not holding back, so neither will I. Let's have some fun, kid!"

Woah.....
Khoshai was completely captivated by the transformation laid out before him. Sure, his flame within Khoshai's spiritual senses was smaller than his own, but it was no less formidable. However...if Null were to guess that Khoshai was in awe because of the Saiyan Warrior's power, well...he was mistaken.
"Woah!" Khoshai exclaimed, the child pointing at the Saiyan in shock," "You're blond now! And you just had black hair! And you're glowing! How did you do that?" Khoshai asked, bombarding his foe with rapid fire questions. In his short life span, the only transformation he had seen was his master, Tora's transformation, in which the human morphed into an armored tiger hybrid warrior..thingie. But even with such an impressive transformation within his master's arsenal, even he couldn't change his hair color! Nor could he glow!
"Hey hey! Mister! I wanna learn how to turn yellow too! I wanna glow, I wanna glow!" Khoshai exclaimed happily before skipping over to the announcer, who was watching the battle with a mixture of confusion and rapt attention. Poking him in the side, he quickly got the man's attention.
"Mister Announcer man...do I have to fight him? He looks so cool! And maybe if I don't fight him, he can teach me how to go yellow too?" Khoshai inquired, not at all realizing that the Super Saiyan transformation was exclusive to the Saiyan race. He was familiar with Saiyans, of course, to a small degree. He had met Ipomea, along with Okarot, on a weird little mission to Planet Vegeta once, that involved man-eating plants. But had he ever seen a Super Saiyan? Well, they were pretty rare, so the answer was most definitely no. Regardless, the announcer wasn't exactly having any of it.
"Um no....you have to fight him, young man. Unless, you want to forfeit and lose the tournament?" The announcer countered, looking down at the child. The prospect of losing the tournament both shocked and frightened the child. He promised Big Brother Tora he would fight in the tournament! And now he was being threatened with being kicked out just because he didn't wanna fight a really cool blond fighter?
"That's stupid..." Khoshai pouted before turning around and walking back to the center of the field. He frowned, before looking apologetically at Null," Hey, Mister! Mister! If I beat you, promise me you won't be mad, okay? I really wanna learn how to glow, but stupid announcer man says I have to fight you or forfeit..." Khoshai said before bounding on the offensive. His aura buffeted out before him, a fearsome magenta color surrounding him. The energy was intense, to say the least, and it seemed as if it was growing stronger, almost drawing upon Null's energy, to feed Khoshai's. His eyes began to glow bright pink, as he unleashed intense psychic force upon his opponent. In a matter of moments, his opponent would find himself surrounded in a purple cloud like aura, psychic energy rushing to wrap around him and paralyze him, keeping the Saiyan warrior from moving as the psychic cloud paralyzed him, keeping him in stasis.
The child let out a glee-filled giggle before sending his right foot crashing into the tiled flooring. The immense strength behind his Ki empowered foot caused the ground to cave in underneath his boot, his foot stretching as it traveled underground. A moment later, the foot would appear again, bursting out of the ground before Null, the elongated boot moving to smash directly into the Saiyan's jaw.
Whether or not the attack landed or not, Khoshai would cause his leg to retract back to its' default length before taking to the air, one of his headtails perking up, before sparking alive with pink electricity. With a grunt, Khoshai released the electric beam outwards. If it collided with Null, while it would not turn him into chocolate as Khoshai kinda wanted, he would feel intense magical bindings wrack his body, as if attempting to morph him. "The hell?!"
He'd thrown up his guard as the swirling purple energy ensconced him. It didn't hurt, but its effect was certainly detrimental. Null gritted his teeth, feeling as if gravity itself had grown to a dozen times its usual pull. If he weren't in his Super Saiyan form, he doubted he'd be able to stand.
Caught off guard, Kho's foot erupted from the floor beneath, slamming hard into his jaw. It threw him for a temporary loop, setting him up for its next assault. The volatile pink energy washed over him, stunning him even further.
If this keeps up... I-I'll...
A battle cry erupted from him as his golden aura flared to life, dispelling the nasty energy of the creature's attacks. Shoulders rose and fell with each breath as he graciously sucked oxygen into his deprived lungs. He could move with ease again, and Null would make the best of it!
He charged forward, rearing back to throw a vicious right hook at the creature's head. Pivoting the opposite direction, Null swung his left foot in a swift roundhouse that, if successful, would catch him in the ribs. The blows packed a serious punch, enough to drive the being out of bounds if successful.
Null got the feeling the longer this fight went, the smaller his chances of winning it.

Whoa! He was fast, and blond! He definitely had to ask this man to help him out later! Teach him how to be fast, and how to be blond! Most importantly, how to be blond. Khoshai was already pretty fast, when it came to attacking. This, accompanied with his random, erratic attacks, caught his foes off guard and made him rather unpredictable, especially given he knew no defined martial arts. Ninety percent of his attacks were merely just him using his unique physiology to get ahead. Which, he was doing again. As Null moved in for the kill, Khoshai wasn't fast enough to move out of the way...but frankly, did he have to? Null's first blow sent the Majin reeling, and then as Null struck the boy in the ribs, his body moved in tandem with Null's attack, reshaping the boy's entire body. Yet...something was off. Khoshai's body practically felt like rubber, and also felt like it was absorbing the shock more than actually dealing damage. This was confirmed a moment later when Khoshai's body stretched out, his body wrapping tightly around Null's body, constricting him, and practically crushing him as he tightened his body around Null. "Nah Nah!" Khoshai mocked, sticking out his tongue and wiggling it back and forth in a playful, immature manner of mocking Null "You can't beat me, you can't beat me~" Khoshai sang as he reared his hands back and began to pummel on the constricted Saiyan, his fists repeatedly bashing against Null's exposed head. His opponent's pliant pink body wrapped around him like a vice, squeezing tighter with each passing second. Null grit his teeth, fighting for enough room to allow his chest to expand to breathe. This creature seemed determined to steal his breath. If he could not breathe, he would grow lightheaded and sloppy. Perhaps desperate.
Desperation yielded terrible results, and his participation in this tournament would have all been for naught. It could not, would not, end this way.
With a yell, Null tore himself free of the creature's grasp, disappearing as his body flickered from view. His rapid speed was his greatest advantage, and Null would use it as such. Reappearing above Khoshai, Null drilled a powerful elbow down into the top of the creature's skull. He hoped to stun the creature, keep it disoriented and in one place.
White energy charged between his hands, the crackling energy erupting forth as a wide energy blast that would engulf his opponent altogether.
It was risky, especially if he damaged the arena and forced a ring out for himself by mistake. But this wasn't the sort of opponent to play it safe with. Null could only hope to deal some actual damage this time around.

He was so sure that he had him this time! He was wrapped around him for goodness's sake! But alas, the boy's thoughts did not become a reality, as the wily Saiyan once more escaped his grip before moving onto a fierce counter-offensive. In the blink of an eye, the Saiyan vanished, prompting Khoshai's heterochromatic eyes to widen, as he looked about frantically, as if confused as to where his foe went.
"Wait, wait! That's not fair! Where are yo-"" He only got that far before Null descended upon him, the boy's face caving in on itself as Null descended upon him, the Saiyan's elbow driving straight into his face. The Majin's silver hair billowed out behind him as he fell back, right before Null's energy blasts completely obliterated him.
The crowd gasped in surprise. Null had just completely obliterated a nine year old child! The mere shock of the situation rippled through the crowd like a wave. For a moment, no one spoke. And thankfully, that moment was enough time for everyone's fears to be absolved by what happened next.
"WHAT IS THAT?!" The Announcer bellowed, pointing at the sky.
And, to be fair, he was right in his confusion. Just what was that?
Pink pieces of rubbery flesh began to coalesce at a single focal point, merging together and folding within itself as it began to take form into a more solid form, before popping back into place, revealing Majin Khoshai once more, who immediately cheered at his restored form.
"Yaaaaaaay!" Khoshai cheered in midair, his body floating ever so passively.
"You're strong, mister! Really strong! But, it's my turn now! Don't die now, okay?" Khoshai asked before springing into action in the most indirect way possible. The first attack....was with his eyes. His eyes flared a bright pink once more, as he unleashed intense psychic force upon his opponent. Similar to before, Null would be enveloped in an intense dark cloud of psychic energy, moving to paralyze him in place.
"Now stand still!" He said, giggling, before rearing his head back. His cheeks puffed out, as his body exploded with his fierce aura, pink ambient light radiating off his body in waves as his immense energy signature buffeted out. Opening his mouth, the child made a rather deep guttural sound, as if he was about to vomit, before he expelled a rather large wave of golden energy from his gullet, the massive beam tearing across the ground as it made its' way to engulf Null.

The energy from his blazing attack dissipated. It seemed to catch the creature full on in its blast radius, carving a massive crater deep within the katchin-reinforced arena floor.
His chest rising and falling with each heavy breath, beads of sweat poured down Null's face, arms still extended where he'd launched his energy blast just moments ago. His opponent was gone. Panic seized him. His eyes darted to and fro, yet much like the announcer and the watching crowd, they seemed as perplexed as he was.
Had he overdone it and killed the poor bastard? That was grounds for disqualification, or worse. At the excited gasps of the crowd, Null tore his gaze from the ground and turned it skyward. Just in time to see the pink blob reconstitute itself into Khoshai, who seemed far too pleased with the current turn of events.
"W-What... are you?" He couldn't hide his surprise, eyes widening in shock and disbelief.
Khoshai launched his assault, sweeping waves of roiling energy that wrapped around him like a cocoon. Null pushed out with his aura, but could not protect himself fully against the attack. Searing burns disintegrated his clothing, burning his arms in the process. Restricted as he was by Kho's potent psychic abilities, he could do little to defend himself this time.
Lashing out in instinct, Null drilled a hard kick to Kho's stomach, driving the Majin backward to create some much needed breathing room. He charged another blast of energy between his palms, letting loose a ferocious cry as he launched another energy wave. This time, with the intent of taking the creepy fighter out of commission for good!

"W-What... are you?" Null asked.
"I'm Majin Khoshai!" Khoshai answered cheerily, right before a kick was planted hard in his gut, causing the child to gasp in surprise. However, instead of flying backwards, the boy's body moved in tandem with the blow, his elastic body stretching back. A moment later, yet another energy wave sent the boy's upper body into oblivion, leaving only a detached lower body, his leg and tail simply standing there, without a brain to command it.
Until Khoshai began to respawn. Slowly, particles of pink would coalesce once more, merging with the pink flesh of his lower body, merging into a pink blob before the blob began to take shape into the child once more, who immediately cheered upon his revival, as if the attack didn't hurt him at all!
"Woohoo! That was fun! What's your name, mister? You're really really fun!" Khoshai cheered. Once more, Khoshai directed his finger out to point at Null, the air rippling around him as he did so, as if the boy had just placed his hand in a stagnant pond, resulting in ripples across the surface. As he did so, Null would find himself once more unable to move, and in another instant Khoshai had vanished, traversing from meters away from Null to directly behind him in an instant. His magenta colored tail lashing out, the tail wrapped tightly around Null's neck, tightening and constricting his breathing instantly.

Once again, the odd Majin reformed after its pliable body was blown to bits due to Null's attack. Frustration seeped in as Khoshai taunted him, giggling like some gleeful child in the midst of a fun game. All at Null's expense.
It stepped all over his Saiyan pride, and it was starting to piss him off more than amuse him.
His fists clenched tight. The square of his jaw tensed, hardening his stare. If Majin Khoshai thought he could mock a proud Saiyan warrior and get away with it, he had another thing coming. He attempted his paralyzing psychic attack once more, but this time, Null was ready for him. Dodging aside, he let off a quick blast of ki with the hopes of disrupting the creature's technique.
If it worked, Null would take to the air, his aura wrapping around him in powered flight as he advanced on Khoshai, hell bent on teaching this kid a lesson or two about toying with the pride of Saiyans.
"You want to know my name?" He closed in, cocking back his fist for what was sure to be a deadly blow. "It's Null. Remember it well the next time you make a joke out of me!"
Putting most of his strength behind his assault, Null sent his fist flying at Khoshai. Energy attacks didn't work. So he'd stick to just pure, overwhelming physical damage.
His fist barreled down at the Majin, aiming for his head. At the very least, he hoped to knock some of its teeth loose.

To say the punch hurt, was to underestimate Null's power.
Even for a Majin, Khoshai could feel pain. It was just that devastating levels of power that would usually be enough to level cities would cause slight irritation to the boy with high regenerative powers and elastic, shock absorbing skin. However, Null's blow was enough to really hurt him.
Null's energy enhanced fist tore straight through Khoshai's head with a vengeance, practically obliterating his cranium under the intensive might, causing the rest of the body to fall over, limp. For a moment, the Majin simply laid there, too stunned to move. Lifeless, even. But then, his body began to twitch, and the gummy child began to regenerate, much to everyone's surprise. Was this boy immortal? What was he? He was able to take a blow to the head, practically destroying his entire head, and was simply able to regrow it, appendages and all? Such feats were impossible, even by Namekian standards of regeneration, in which the galaxy considered them the pinnacle. So...what was he?
Standing up, Khoshai's head flopped around a bit until gaining structure into a definite form, in which the boy would smile and cheer once more, happy at his recovered nature and ready to give up the fight. He immediately greeted his opponent with a happy grin, followed by sticking his tongue out, wagging it about for a few second while also pulling down on the skin below his eye. A taunt of sorts.
"Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah!" Khoshai taunted playfully, before dissolving into giggles. Out of pure curiosity, he walked right up to the exhausted Saiyan, who seemed to have overexerted himself in his last melee. Having little concept of personal space, Khoshai leaned in a bit too close for comfort, as if examining a specimen he found really interesting.
"You're not blond anymore! That's a bummer...and you look tired...this is no fun anymore! But hey, if I beat you, then you gotta tell me how to go blond!" Khoshai declared before rearing his fist back, before unleashing it in a devastating blow upon his opponent.
"BAM!" A single fist was all that was needed. The power behind such a blow, the energy packed behind it as it made contact with Null's face was tremendous. Blonde locks fell listless in his eyes, the natural ebony color returning. His energy dropped dangerously low as exhaustion seeped into his bones. His breathing was heavy and labored. It felt as if he couldn't take in enough oxygen. One hand gripped his side where a sharp stabbing pain had formed.
He'd screwed up.
The crowd began to gasp and murmur behind cupped hands. Uncertainty filled the eyes of those who once wholly believed in the Saiyan to take home this victory. Now they were unsure. It looked as if he were completely out of gas. It wasn't far from the truth. He'd poured too much energy into that final assault, allowing his temper to get the better of him.
Now he'd overextended himself, and was certain to suffer the consequences of that.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, A SHOCKING TURN OF EVENTS! IS THERE ANY FUEL LEFT IN THE TANK FOR THIS SAIYAN?" Even the announcer seemed to notice the Saiyan's plight.
Khoshai didn't make things better. Continuing his teasing ways, he flew forward and reared back, cocking his fist in the same manner Null had before. No more of those fancy tricks, the Majin came at him full force. His fist plowed into Null's chin, sending him hurtling backward through the air, his body spinning helplessly in a spiral.
He landed hard with a thud, rolling toward the edge of the stage. He stopped just at the edge, one arm dangling over the side, his fingers inches from the ground. They didn't touch, so he avoided disqualification. For a long while, Null lay motionless, much to the shock of the crowd. Then, slowly, he pushed himself up from the ground. Rising on unsteady feet, he winced in pain at the throbbing in his jaw.
That blow nearly took his head off. But he would not let it end in such a way.
Digging deep within himself, Null found his resolve and used it to steel himself. Fists clenched, he slipped back into a wobbling defensive stance, clearly shook from the Majin's blow.
"I... will... not... yield!"
His power erupted forth, his aura swirling around him in a cyclone of stirring energy. Almost as if it were a last hurrah.

Khoshai wondered why the man was standing back up. Even though the child was no genius on energy control, or the fluctuations of Ki, he was pretty sure the Saiyan fighter before him just got a whole lot weaker...and looked a little sleepy. Maybe it was past his bedtime? Khoshai could relate to such a situation, since he couldn't stay up real late either without getting REALLY tired. But he had never gotten tired in the middle of a fight before! But hey, who was he to judge.
Majin Khoshai truly had no ill intent within him, nor did he ever consider for a second that his innocent, teasing nature was impacting Null negatively. To him, this tournament, and all the fights he's ever had, besides a few choice ones, were just for fun! He considered this a game, and was having the time of his life. Null, on the other hand, saw this as a severe blow to his pride, being beaten by a nine year old child with the overall maturity of a four year old.
Even as Null struggled to stand, Khoshai applauded his efforts. Literally. He started clapping for the man.
"Wow, you're really strong! Maybe we can be friends after you teach me to be blond!" Khoshai said before vaulting forward, his body flickering out of view before reappearing suddenly before Null once more. This time, it was a literal repeat of the last action. There was nothing to be done here.
The Majin's fist slammed into him, throwing him backward. Despite his final stalwart defense, he no longer possessed the energy or stamina to dodge such a powerful blow. Though the Majin had missed a great deal of his assaults due to Null's superior speed and agility, the final blow was often the one that counted.
He landed hard outside of the ring, his tattered gi stained with sweat, dirt, and grass.
He sought to catch his breath, staring up at the bright arena lights above. The crowd was abuzz with news of the victor. Many seemed shocked, especially the few who were familiar with the sweeping golden energy of a Super Saiyan. After all, Legume was a household name at this point. To see the golden haired warrior fall was a shock, though the thrill of the battle had sated their appetites.
Even now, as he dragged himself up from the ground, they were calling for the next match. Near insatiable in their desire to see strong warriors do battle.
For what purpose? And to what end?
Null thought participating in this tournament would net him some necessary funds. But he could not, would not, do it at the expense of bringing shame to his people.
One of the legendary Super Saiyans... fallen.
He stared daggers at Khoshai from a distance before turning and heading back to the waiting room without a word. There was nothing more to say here. Khoshai was not an opponent Null felt he could respect. Fighting was merely a game to him, and yet, he possessed far more power than Null. Would that be the very pattern of his existence?
He could not let it be so. Something had to change.
