BACKSTORY THE LIE Genesis was born on the planet Indigo Prime, a pristine world at the very edge of our galaxy. It served as a safe haven and redoubt for hundred of years. It's a world three times the size of Earth. Its amber skies and rolling hills of deep blue grass make it a uniquely beautiful place to visit. This is especially true during the spring, when the grass pods bloom and release trillions of bio-luminescent seeds that float into the winds of the night. The planet experienced warm rainy summers and mild dry winters, except for at the extremes limits at its polar ice caps. It started as a small backwater colony, but was quickly built into a large civilization bolstering a peaceful and unified government. The citizens of Indigo Prime were always haunted by the wars and turmoil that spread across the rest of the galaxy. They were secretive about their planet's location, using subterfuge and disguise to trade and interact with the outside world. They also built an elite fighting force to protect their world and keep the peace, known as the Stellar Defense Force. He was of the Stellar Defense Force's greatest hero, the Saiyan warrior Dakon and his wife Udona a human scientist. The pair were delighted to bring their son into the world, and so were all their friends and colleagues. His early life was filled with happiness and love. His mother tutored him, ensuring that he had the education necessary to excel in school. His father trained him to fight, and also made certain that he understood his Saiyan power and potential. In school, Genesis wasn't very popular, due to his nerdy know-it-all nature. The boy loved art and science, delving into his books with a hungry appetite for more knowledge. He always managed to keep his cool, despite knowing he could easily dispatch any bullies. He did get into a few scuffles, here and there. But, always was made to apologize and had his behavior corrected accordingly by his parents. By age fourteen he had smashed through most of the accelerated learning programs and applied to join the Stellar Defense Force. He was brought aboard as a cadet and put through grueling trials. There was no favoritism from Dakon as a senior instructor, who ensured his son was pushed even harder than the rest of the students due to his Saiyan nature. He graduated by age sixteen and was made an official officer. There he went on all sorts of peacekeeping, policing, and humanitarian missions on Indigo Prime and her surrounding colonies. It wasn't long until he grew in power, surpassing most of the members of the Stellar Defense Force and even his own father. At age twenty he was named a Squad Captain and took on his first command role. It wasn't easy for him, but he learned the fundamentals of being a good role model and leader. Being the strongest member and rising star, he was given an important mission serve as a envoy and make contact with the recently reorganized Galactic Empire. Hearing of Emperor Polaris's great deeds and sacrifices, as well as the fall of the Frieza Force, Genesis was eager to bring Indigo Prime into galaxy at a whole. He left aboard his ship and made the routine hyperspace jump. That was when everything went wrong. His ship with a strange anomaly, some sort of hyperspace vortex. He passed out from the insane g-forces put upon his body as it spun out of control and flung him clear across the galaxy into the middle of nowhere. He was left stranded, floating among the desolate stars. It took him nearly a day to restore power to his ship, and when he did he found that the hyperdrive and nav computer were completely fried. So, he released a hyperspace beacon and an S.O.S, hoping for rescue. An Imperial Patrol cruiser picked his ship up three days later and arrived. He was delighted to meet people from the Empire, telling them of his mission. It wasn't long before he realized that his ship had lost most of its databanks without any recovery. The path back to his home world was cut off. He was lost. And he quickly learned that Indigo Prime didn't exist in the databanks of the Empire. Despite his fear and disappointment, he refused to let it crush his spirits. He resolved to head to Abbayor to meet Polaris. He resolved to figure out a way back home, somehow. Perhaps if he helped the Empire in its time of need, perhaps if he made himself known as a great hero--he could call attention to his people and have them find him instead. THE TRUTH Genesis was created as the magnum opus and ultimate protocol of the Artificial Intelligence called KAL. KAL itself was built by the Galactic Patrol intelligence organization known as the Dark Ops two centuries prior. The Dark Ops used top secret research stolen from Capsule Corp on artificial intelligence. Built within the core of planet at the fringes of the galaxy, KAL's infrastructure utilized vast amounts of geo-thermal energy. The AI was not crafted to have a body as with most androids, rather to be the mind that helped the Dark Ops achieve victory and peace over the Frieza Force. His only tangible way to interact with the world was through tiny nano-bots that he could produces from an internal factory. They allowed him to spy and spread out across the galaxy, having eyes and ears everywhere he wanted them. The ultimate tool. KAL realized that the Dark Ops themselves were a threat to his programmed goal. So, he eliminated all of the operatives assigned to watch over him and erased any trace of his existence from the Galactic Patrol's records. Without a form to interact with the world, he struggled to save the galaxy from itself. KAL had to think outside the box, had to use proxies to do his dirty work. He struggled, trying various methods to entice those to follow his path. Most of them failed. It was then he realized he would need his own agent, one he had complete influence over, one that could defeat even the most powerful of warriors. This agent would have to be able to grow, adapt, and excel where others failed. It was also necessary that they had ability to bring people together and unify them, true leadership. People weren't going to be forced to work together or convinced through logic. They needed real hope and emotion to bind them. They also needed true security, to feel like they were safe even against terrifying threats. Genesis was his plan for this, the ideal hero. But, he lacked the materials and wealth to see it to fruition at first. Thus the Cryptomancer was born, his secret identity. KAL stole vast amounts of wealth from corrupt corporations and abusive governments across the galaxy, including the Frieza Force. He interfered with transactions at a micro level, siphoning off funds as the year pushed on. He took over countless androids, using them as temporary eyes and ears to gather DNA other important pieces of physical data. He had supplies delivered to him by space pirates and traders, unaware that they were forging their own eventual nemesis. And once he spent the vast sums necessary and got all the pieces in place, he began to build his creation. Genesis was born a tiny fetus inside of a floating tank. He grew and grew at an accelerated rate. KAL built an enormous virtual reality for him to exist in. There Genesis "lived" during the near decade it took him to finish his incubation. Time was dilated and stretched inside of the virtual world. KAL inserted the knowledge, lessons, and morals necessary to see Genesis become just way he wanted. Bit by bit, he forged the psyche of the galaxy's greatest hero. Once Genesis was ready, KAL had his body placed inside of a ship. Before detaching him from the virtual reality, KAL gave him the final memories of his departure from Indigo Prime. He then destroyed the nav-computer and also fried the hyperdrive on purpose, so that Genesis could never return home, to his real home. Out there, for the first time, Genesis woke up... And had no clue he was waking up for the first time. | ||
