Yuujin Ogata had done an enormous amount of soul searching since his failed trial in the ancient Tetsudo Temple. He had passed the Third Tetsukami's trial, his father's, but refused to enter the chamber of the Fourth. He did not think himself ready, or worthy, especially now that he had lost his right arm and with it, much of his pride. Upon returning home the young martial artist had redoubled his own personal training, meditating alone for hours on end and reflecting on the brief time he had spent fighting at Asuka Atsuki's side. He smiled whenever he saw her face in his dreams and his thoughts. She'd look like an angel, leaning over him as he lie bleeding from his wounds. His heart had nearly shattered when he thought his failed Protective Mummification Technique had killed her, and the relief he felt upon reviving her had been incredible.

He had to see her again, his heart compelled him to. So once Yuujin properly recovered, and felt he had adapted enough to overcome his new disability, he'd set out to find Asuka somewhere in the great wide world. He had nothing to go off of but her name, so packing his things, borrowing a capsule car from his village elder, and gathering what little zeni he had the young man set off. He'd traveled to North City first, the nearest major settlement to his home. While there he inquired about notable martial artists, tournaments, schools in the area. Anything martial arts related while he did odd jobs to pay for his hotel fare. His search led him then to Satan City, the martial arts capital of the Earth. Surely he'd find a clue to Asuka's whereabouts in the city of Earth's legendary hero Mr. Hercule Satan.

By Satan's blessing Yuujin did. Inquiring with the World Martial Arts Headquarters he was able to find Asuka's name on the Silver City Invitational roster from some month or so ago. She'd faced many opponents, beating them all by knockout up to a fighter named Roxxy Bomb, who she'd only beaten by technical knockout. Going off the official punching machine numbers, and the woman's impressive match history, Yuujin decided it had to be his Asuka. Silver City wasn't far from East City, so the young warrior decided east once more. Once in East City, he'd thanked the Kais when he saw another local tournament was undergoing sign ups. The East City Invitational, a preliminary tournament to the much larger East City International that fighters from across the globe participated in. The Invitational was a more local fair, with few non-Earthlings participating. The larger one offered better prize pools, and tended to be dominated by Saiyans and Namekian mercenaries looking for easy zeni during the slow months.

Yuujin signed up in an instant. Though the tournament administrators were initially hestitant of him because of his glaring disability, he'd demonstrated his newest technique. The Bandage Phantom Limb. Using his Shoten ki bandages, Yuujin could command them to form a hard construct that mirrored his lost limb. It took great focus to both great the limb and mimic the movements he needed it to do. But he could manage, and the display had been enough to permit him entry into the lowest bracket of the tournament. It was a start he thought to himself, eagerly watching the roster fill up day by day until the weekend event drew close. Two days of fighting, festivities, and festivals that brought tourism and trade to East City. In the meantime Yuujin spent most of his time in the fighters' barracks, meditating or sleeping, and the remaining time in the tournament gym getting the last bit of training he could in before the tournament began. He knew for sure Asuka would be here, hoping to see her step through the door of the barracks any day now and claim one of the yet unoccupied bunks.

Yuujin was lost in his meditations, focusing on the world around him. Power levels great and small filled the tournament grounds. From powerful warriors that eclipsed his strength to frail old women barely stronger than a child. It was a lot to take in, especially from a man who'd spent most of his life being raised in a small isolated village. He simply wasn't used to crowds, much less cities. It presented him a unique chance to further hone his senses. Or at least it had. So deep in his meditation was the warrior monk he lost sight of things more immediate to him. Eyes closed and mind cleared he failed to realize Asuka Atsuki approaching, much less when she tapped him on the shoulder. He immediately threw his arms up in surprise, shouting out in surprise. "GYYAAHH!" He cried out comically, losing all concentration and with it his meditation.

Yuujin fell the brief distance to the ground, his rear landing with a thud on tiled ground. He grit his teeth, wanting to yell at whoever it was that bothered him. His anger faded in a moment though as he realized the gift he was presented with, and more importantly the person who presented it. "Oh!" He cried out excitedly, taking the bento box in hand with his good hand. "Asuka... I didn't see you coming." He added somewhat nervously, blushing slightly as his eyes caught his smiling friend's face. Yuujin took a closer look at his present, nostrils sniffing at the air as he suddenly realized how hungry he was. "No you're right, ha. I guess I get so focused I sometimes forget." As he spoke his stomach growled, and his bandage hand reached into to grab one of the sliced up sandwiches. He figured it'd be easier to clean his bandages later rather than get his hand all greasy. "Thank you though." He adds simply as he takes the first bite, letting out content noises as he chews his food. "It's really good." Yuujin adds after swallowing, a wide smile on his face. "I'm not much of a cook though, so maybe that's making me biased."

Yuujin wasn't thinking terribly hard anymore, more distracted by his meal. He hadn't eaten a thing all day, so any food was a welcome thing at this point. When Asuka chimed in he just nodded along, enjoying his sandwich to trouble her with an answer immediately. Only once he swallowed and wiped his mouth did he finally reply. "I am doing well, a lot better than I have been in a long time. I can thank you for much of that, and I don't mean because you saved me." He let his words trail off, gaze growing distant as Yuujin momentarily was lost in his thoughts. Asuka had pushed him forward into a new chapter of his life, though he couldn't find the strength to express his thoughts to her on it. Not yet anyways, though he hoped one day perhaps.

"You mean this?" Yuujin finally said, flexing his bandage hand and showing off the full range of motion of his limb. He smiled, more than elated his friend was so curious about his new technique. "It is a 'crazy new technique', though its premise is in much older techniques of ours." He replied knowingly, shifting in his seat as he prepared his lengthy response. "I call it the Bandage Phantom Limb technique. The premise is simple, my mind and my nerves still know instinctively how to move a hand and arm. Even though my arm is missing, the knowledge of it isn't. I channel my ki into my bandages, and through careful meditation I was able to find a way to tap into these instinctive movements." He moved his arm through the air, curling his fingers in a repeating pattern. "It's hard to explain. Its not like controlling a robot arm, I'm not really trying to move it. I just focus on moving my arm, and it moves. The focus is in maintaining the flow of ki to my bandages and maintaining the shape. If my concentration lapses..." He let it do so and the bandages began to unravel and go limp. Yuujin's ki briefly flared and he restored his bandage limb to full. "...my phantom limb simply comes apart."

The warrior took another bite, thinking of the time he'd spent in his home village adapting his new technique to overcome his new handicap. "It's my own design. My father had nothing to do with it. I decided if I was going to continue to walk the path of a tetsudo master, I needed a way to overcome my handicap. I can't channel my ki through a prosthetic limb, so I had to make due with what I could. I spent weeks just perfecting the concept, mastering the basics was hard enough." Yuujin had spent countless hours on simple tasks such as opening and closing his hand. Complex hand signs and rapid gestures had taken even longer. "Anyways I'm not going to pretend I'm better than before. I still miss my arm, but I hope my Bandage Phantom Limb will help me return to the level I once was."

"Well." Yuujin says, thinking to himself as he chews his sandwich. "If I had enough concentration I could control more than one phantom limb at once. Imagine having two sprout from your back like the Sour Witches Style. Or having hands appear under your opponent's feet to snare them while you fight. Or maybe even creating a giant bandage phantom limb to deliver a massive punch. The only limit would be the wielder's ki, concentration, and the amount of tetsudo bandages on them." Yuujin was slightly lost in thought, musing on the possibilities of what he'd learned. However despite his optimism he was nowhere near close to mastering any of what he said. Truth be told is was much more difficult even maintaining one phantom limb with Asuka in his presence. His thoughts were, elsewhere around her.

To his chagrin though Asuka left almost as quickly as she arrived. He'd barely eaten half his sandwich and he was eager to talk more about Tetsudo martial arts. Their order was secretive, and he dared not discuss anything of it with the other combatants. Yuujin just lied about the nature of his abilities and where he learned them. Taking a page from Koh Sensei's playbook he simply said he was the apprentice to a wandering monk who was a renowned martial artist in his youth. The young warrior let out a sigh as Asuka departed, catching one last longing glimpse of her before she slipped out the door. The fighters around the area were growing more eager by the minute. The opening bouts of the tournament would be underway within the hour. Asuka was distraction, Yuujin told himself; he needed put his thoughts on his friend aside if he was truly to test his new limits and stand a chance against warriors without handicaps of their own.

Yuujin hadn't expected Asuka to pull any punches, but he still managed to be surprised when she came out swinging. The martial artist was almost caught off guard by Asuka's speed, and quickly threw up his defenses as he saw her fist slamming towards his chin. He quickly also entered the Shouten state, shimmering white ki radiating from his body, giving him the added strength and speed to mitigate the attack as best he could. Yuujin was too slow to avoid the attack entirely, but his quick thinking found a solution. He thrust out his Phantom Bandage Limb, grabbing Asuka's fist with it as he blow struck true. Not his real hand, bones couldn't be shattered and the limb felt no pain. It cushioned as much of the impact as it could, while being blown apart in the process.

Still, despite his efforts Yuujin was sent hurtling skyward by the blow to his chin. His head was spinning, reeling from the impact as he came to his senses midair. "I didn't think she could hit that hard..." He mumbled to himself, gritting his teeth and rubbing his jaw with his good hand. "No playing around then." Yuujin called out, looking to his mangled bandage limb. The appendage was flooded with his Shouten ki as his eyes lit up, and Yuujin raised his arm high over his head as he began to descent. "Taste this!" He roared, extending the bandages from his hand like a pair of twin serpents that arced out from the stub of his arm. They twisted and writhed through the air, hardened by ki to be like steel whips. Yuujin slammed his twin lashes against the ground, intending to strike Asuka with the duo attack.

Yuujin landed gracefully at the fat end of the arena, stumbling a bit as he did. That opening move had caught him off guard, he could practically feel it in his bones. As his lashes retracted they reformed back into a proper arm, and the warrior raised both fists as he braced himself for Asuka's next attack. This was going to be one hell of a fight, the first real test of his training. He only hoped his new 'arm' was up to the challenge.

Yuujin was caught off guard by Asuka's continued offensive, bracing himself as he spiraled into the pavement below. He drew forth as much of a protective layer of Tetsudo Bandages as he could before the impact, which left a sizable crater in the arena floor. Yuujin sprung free from the impact, staggering from the blow. He was conscious, but winded. He used the dust cloud for cover, the roar of the cheering crowd filling his ears. "So... aggressive. Am I outmatched?" He thought to himself, focusing his resolve. He'd been the weaker fighter even before he lost his arm. He just knew it. But after all his training? Was he going to be beaten this easily? No. Never. He was Yuujin Ogata, and like it or not he was the son of the Third Tetsukami!

The young warrior's ki flared a brilliant hue, veins throbbing across his face as he felt a seemingly limitless surge of adrenaline. His body willing itself to fight harder than he'd ever thought possible. "Asuka!" He called out, reforming his Phantom Bandage Limb. "Our fight is just getting started!" With that said Yuujin dashed in, unleashing a savage volley of punches and kicks aimed at Asuka's head and stomach. He dipped and weaved across the arena, vanishing in a serious of after images until he was close enough to the woman. His phantom limb shot out, like a massive coiling serpent intend to smash Asuka across the chest. Yuujin was still reeling from his earlier injuries though, and pain rung out in his muscles limiting his full offensive strength. He hoped it would be enough.

Yuujin was more than prepared for Asuka, and when she appeared behind him with her Vanishing Technique he spun around, grabbing her leg with both hands and stopping the blow dead in the air. "Nice try." He said, straining from the impact as the force of the wind from the blow dispelled any remaining dust in the air. The young warrior gritted his teeth, he was fighting at his limits. Within himself he found untapped reserves of power, drawing on that strength with his great pride. He wanted to beat Asuka, not to prove himself to her, but to prove himself to himself. Yuujin didn't want to accept that he would be nothing but the crippled son of a disgraced man the rest of his days. He wanted more than that. He wanted to be Tetsukami! To rebuild his order from the ground up, free from the sins of his father.

"HHHHHHYYYYYYAAAAAAA!!!!" Yuujin shouted at the top of his lunges as his aura surged. His power levels surged beyond Asuka's, but not enough to create enough of a gap between them. Yuujin took his good hand, leaving his bandage limb to hold Asuka's leg in place as he charged an immense blast of white ki in his palm. "TET-" He cried out, gathering all of his strength into his palm. "SU-" Yuujin spoke next, the ground growing silent as they watched the blinding light only grow in size. "HHHAAAAAAAAAA!" He roared in defiance, unleashing a massive blast of Shouten ki point blank upon his opponent. It briefly flooded the arena in brilliant white light. When the dust cleared, Yuujin could only hope his attack struck its mark.

Yuujin fully expected his attack to defeat Asuka outright. So did the crowd, who gasped in surprise when she was left standing from the blast. Left panting from his own exertion, Yuujin stared on in disbelief as Asuka ascended to the next state of Shoten. The Tetsudo Hado, ki beyond ki, strength beyond strength. "Damn..." Yuujin was able to mutter, before raising his guard to defend against Asuka's next attack. To his surprise, it proved a feint, leaving Yuujin caught off guard entirely. "Nani!?" He stammered out as her opponent appeared at his side. The Tetsudo martial artist quickly resorted to his strongest defense, throwing up a Protective Mummification Sphere, encircling himself in shoten bandages to shield him from Asuka's attacks.

His defense hastily constructed at a moment's notice, but served admirable as Yuujin's bandage ball was mercilessly pummeled by Asuka's volley of attacks. Yuujin was knocked like a ragdoll from one end of the arena to the other by Asuka's blows, trying desperately to maintain his protective barrier. Her final ax kick smashed through his defense though, driving Yuujin face first into the arena floor and shattering it into jagged chunks of concrete around him. He remained there for a moment, battered and bruised before picking himself up. Without saying a word, Yuujin reformed his Phantom Bandage Limb from what was left of his sphere, wiping the blood from his lips. His ki surged, as he himself tapped into the power of the Tetsudo Hado.

Yuujin then vanished in a burst of speed, reappearing in front of Asuka and laying out a rapid fire volley of punches with both arms. Machinegun punches unleashed more out of sheer adrenaline than finesse as a warrior. Yuujin himself was fighting on raw instinct now, throwing caution to the wind in his assault. He weaved in an equally impressive barrage of kicks into his assault, hoping to simply overwhelm Asuka with more attacks than she'd be able to dodge or guard. All the while hoping she herself was as drained as he was.

Yuujin was too mentally exhausted to dodge the blow to the back of his neck. He toppled forward like a sack of bricks, impacting the arena floor as his concentration broke. For a moment he seemed beaten, but his aura seemed to simmer, his ki fading. But then suddenly it flared back, twice as intense as before. THe young warrior pushed himself to his feet, his Bandage Limb fading away as they fell at his side, replaced by only the empty stub and the burning desire to win. Yuujin Ogata slowly stood upright, veins popping across the length of his body and his skin growing flush from blood rush. The warrior clenched his remaining fist, a ball of searing white ki forming in his hand.

"I am Yuujin Ogata, son of the Third Tetsukami! Heir to the Tetsudo Order! I will not be beaten here, I will not be proven a weakling! I will show you and the world Asuka. I will show you all how strong I am." More energy pooled at Yuujin's hand, rushing like wind as it swirled around him. It formed a pure white orb the size of a basketball, that crackled with power as it drew in his strength. In an instant the warrior vanished, no trace left but the pressure charge from his sudden movement. Suddenly Yuujin appeared above Asuka, a crazed look in his eyes. "WITNESS WHAT TETSUDO CAN DO!" He cried out in defiance, unleashing a massive blast of ki almost point blank at his opponent. The white beam of ki was no Tetsu-Ha. It was something entirely unique, born of desperation and rage of a man refusing to accept his own limitations. Yuujin poured his heart and soul in the blast, hoping to prove to himself more than anyone just how strong he had become.
