SHROOMY'S INVITATIONAL II WC: 1,264 TAGS: Legume , Tora , Queen Kuueru , Doctor Kaijin Vex
Space Vegas, Capsule Corp. Mesosphere Battle Arena
Sunlight filtered through the transparisteel dome that covered the outside of the arena, glancing off the polished bronze and alabaster orifices inside the arena proper. The soft azure glow of Capsule Corp logos hung over the bleachers, which had several dozen rows packed tight, shoulder to shoulder, with spectators. Very few of the humans and xenos that clamored into the stands were rich or affluent in some way. Tickets to the Mesosphere Battle Arena were not cheap, especially for an event like this. Most folks would be watching the battle on the Galactic Hypernet cast, as shoddy quality as that was.
Shroomy stretched up on his hover platform. He fixed his tie tapped a button on the console to set him in motion. The platform glided over the yawning span of the arena. The venue was nearly a half mile in diameter, the floor made out of reinforced duracrete studded with katchin. A surface like that could take several salvos from a war cruiser's plasma cannon, before cracking or even scorching. It was the same material that many of Space Vegas's banks and financial institutions paid top dollar to have their mega-towers constructed out of But, he had been in battle business long enough to know that no material would be enough for the sort of folks he recruited for this match.
It was a lot of hard work, he spent countless months identifying talent and sending out invitations. For some of the fighters invited today, it was a lot easier than others. A few of them, he had to use less scrupulous channels to get them an invitation.
"~Good afternooooon!"
Shroomy's voice boomed over every loud speaker in the place. As he spoke, the crowd whooped back, which caused him to pause. Seconds ticked on, and eventually the hollering lessened, allowing him to proceed.
"Recently, our galaxy has fallen upon dark times. Things are a little bit grim, things are a little be uncertain. But, you can be certain of one thing folks, and one thing alone. That Shroomy has brought to you the very best in combat entertainment this fine day. Yes! I have a very special Invitational in store for you. We're doing things big this time, we're doing things different. And I'm sure you'll love every second of it."
Shroomy was known for changing things up. No Invitational was the same, year after year. There was a rumble of murmurs as the spectators chatted among each other about what could potentially be in store.
"I've brought to you a cadre of amazing warriors."
Drums began to thunder in a low and steady cadence.
"The first team is a duo of exotic fighters. Until a few days ago, they didn't know each other. But, I have a strong feeling their fighting styles will compliment each other perfectly."
An image of Tora materialized in thin air, as well as bunch of random factoids about him. If anyone knew Tora well enough, they would be surprised to see a vast majority of them were made up. "Tora No Seshin is a dangerous fighter from Earth, hailing from the ever mysterious Tiger Island. He has a bond with his beasts that lends him great powers and he also is a master of the secretive Tiger Fighting Style. Give it up for Toooora!"
There were a lot of humans in the crowd. And they exploded with excitement to see one of their own here today. Most of the matches on Space Vegas featured xenos and Saiyans, who were notorious for their fighting skills. Humans tended to be under represented.
Tora's image flickered away and was replaced with a photogenic close up of Legume with his enormous sword. More than a few ladies in the stands had their cheeks go flush gazing upon his handsome countenance. "He is matched with Legume, a Saiyan that is a bit of an enigma to us all. Hailing from a backwater world at the very fringes of the galaxy, he fought to free his home planet from the injustice of tyrannical overlords. Now, he splashed onto the galactic scene with a sense of justice, a charming smile, and a power level that makes all the ladies faint."
All of it was fabricated. In fact, Shroomy knew nothing about Legume. There were no records of him, and he didn't get enough time leading up to the match to interview him. So, a fakestory was better than no story. Plus, the whole freedom fighter thing would sit well with the crowd.
"Our second team know each other well, as they signed up together."
Legume's stoic hologram vanished and was replaced by an image of Kuueru, a pink haired earthling with archaic looking clothing on. In the image she was hugging xeno children. Behind her stood Kaijin, who was administering vaccines to the poor and downtrodden.
"First on this team, we have the Kuueru the Baroness of Hollow, a renowned galactic traveler and connoisseur of exotic cuisines. She currently serves the Galactic Empire as an officer, and once had the ear of the heroic Galactic Emperor himself Polaris. One little known fact about Kuueru is that she is actually a huge philanthropist, having thrown millions of zeni towards charities. A second little known fact is that she's quite powerful and a tenacious fighter. So give it up for Kuueru!"
A pretty face hugging children. The crowd ate it up. Most of them were rich too, so they often gave away to charities for vanity's sake.
"She brought with her a friend and colleague, the little known Doctor Kaijin Vex. Doctor Vex works in bio-engineering and helped make advancements that have gone leaps and bounds in medical technology. Most of his free time is spent with the Barnoness administering treatments to the sick and poor. He is actually a highly advanced artificial life form. Isn't that amazing folks?"
There were "oohs" and "aaahs" at the mention of artificial life form. It was a fancy way to say android, but with a greater impact. Shroomy smirked, proud of his first set of introductions.
"But, you didn't come here to hear their life stories. You came here to see a fight! So, let's get on with it."
The gates opened up on either side of the arena, allowing the fighters to step in. On the jumbotron a countdown appeared, ticking down from 30 seconds. The anticipation was palpable, the crowd erupting with cheers and ravenous ardor.
INITIATIVE The order the teams post will be randomized, to make things fair.

In Legume's time, tournaments were as big of a deal as they are in this distant past - however, through forty thousand years of history, they had evolved so far from their predecessors that when the Saiyan first heard about one being organized in his vicinity, he was sure that there was a some sort of name misplacement. The primary difference is that martial arts and ki mastery had become much more of a competitive sport rather than something people take up on for self defense or to further their goals. With the absolute majority of the population having some sort of control over their inner ki abilities, and the society orderly and without any risk of unwelcome threats, such a development should perhaps be anticipated. Martial artists, who participate in tournaments as highly paid sportsmen representing cities or planets, often don't even hold a candle to the elite fighters in the Galactic Military - but they don't need to, either, as tournaments are focused a lot less on raw power and a lot more on technique and teamwork. There is a hard cap on how far a martial artist is allowed to push his power level during a match, there is an official organization hardcoding rules on how matches should be organized and what techniques are banned... As a veteran of the Galactic Military, Legume hadn't gotten a chance to test his skill in a tournament before his time leap, but having realized that the time he ended up in has no qualms with a person pushing his power to the max and flailing it around, he figured that it wouldn't hurt to try something new for once in his lifetime. One thing which apparently didn't change during those forty millenia, though, is the commercialization of tournaments. Including hyping up all of the combatants in the tournament beforehand to get the audience's attention. Hell, as Legume sat on one of the benches right outside of the arena, he overheard the announcer mention his name and immediately craft a fake story behind it, calling him a freedom fighter from the distant edges of the Galaxy who has arrived out of nowhere with a sense of justice and an enormous power level. The Saiyan snickered a little afterward. Maybe I should steal this description to not reveal where I'm from unless necessary, it pays no favors. Just... please, don't put me as an inhabitant of the Galactic Rim, I'm not a damn hillbilly.With the rest of the combatants described, the gates to the Arena opened and, carrying Vanity on his shoulder and shifting it in his hand to not have the tip of the blade bang on the roof the gate, Legume stepped out to the soon-to-be battlefield. His partner in this two on two match was Tora no Seshin - the two had met each other on the other side of the Galaxy a week or so ago and just so happened to stumble across each other in Shroomy's Invitational. The Saiyan held a lot of respect for the Earthling martial artist thanks to the great fight he put up in the Nickel Tournament and thus couldn't ask for a better partner today. Their opponents, on the other hand, were completely unfamiliar to him - however, from what Legume had heard of them from the announcer's description, they were forces to be reckoned with and the power levels which their bodies put out confirmed that. The demoness, apparently named Kuueru, was affiliated with the now deceased Emperor Polaris - surprisingly, a name which Legume had heard of before his leap to the past. In passing and often confusing him with all the other Frost Demons who lived in this millenium, but heard of regardless. Which definitely meant that this was someone to keep note of. Her ally, named Kaijin, was apparently an advanced artificial lifeform. An android? A test tube baby? A clone? All of these three were likely answers and all three of them were prolific in Legume's time, thus firmly in Legume's comfort zone. Aside for the auspicious lack of an Android Civil Rights Movement. But hey, that's the primitive first millenium for you. "Tora," Legume spoke, removing Vanity from his shoulder and slightly raising it to the air. "I'll leave Kaijin to you. Kuueru seems like the more important target here." Without waiting for an answer, Legume suddenly slammed his greatsword to the ground with a loud thud, coinciding it with his Super Saiyan transformation. A powerful golden aura and a shockwave from the sword slam rolled across the entire arena, reaching to the edges of the dome and threatening to blow away everything standing in its way. And this wasn't a normal Super Saiyan transformation, either - the significantly greater power level, crackling electricity around Legume's body and a single lock of hair falling onto his forehead indicated something beyond. Legume knew that the people of this era still saw Super Saiyans as a rare occurrence, as legends. And if this enigma in front of them becomes not just a Super Saiyan, but a Super Saiyan Two... that's got to pick up the crowd. Without any further ado, Legume sped forward from his position, eyes locked towards Kuueru and registering even the faintest of her movements, ready to either react or activate Time Skip at the slightest sense of danger, As soon as the Super Saiyan got close enough, he swung Vanity forth in two wide and powerful horizontal swings. Tora entered the arena with a grin, waving and smiling at the roaring crowds of Earthlings. His charismatic persona was encapsulated by the jaw-dropping thumbs up he shot to a particularly cute girl towards the front of the audience. The Tiger of Earth had just found out whom he was partnered with; He couldn't be more pleased. Legume, the Saiyan he had fought against in the Nickel Tournament. Tora would've lost if that one had gone all out- he was sure of it. His powerlevel was impressive to say the least of him. On top of that? He was a nice guy. Genuine. Tora actually liked him. The pair he was up against? Tora liked them, too. Although, Kaijin was a little misguided. They were both people he had fought against. Tora laughed at Kaijin and Kuueru, surprised that they apparently knew each other. Waving at them from across the tiled arena floor, he shouted both of their names in excitement: "Kuueru! Kaijin! Wow, wow, wow! Here I am thinking I'll have a -decent- match, and you two roll on in! You've both beaten me before-... This time, I'm willing to bet it won't be so easy." he laughed out, his face glowing with warmth. His blood was on fire- and as Legume turned up the pressure, revealing a brilliantly golden transformation, Tora no Seishin couldn't wait to show off his new skills. With a few strange hand signs, a familiar blue mist enveloped the fighter. A moment later, seemingly clawing its way out of the shroud of blue smoke, Tora's old master appeared, the giant white Tiger enveloping a large portion of the arena. Tora was pleased to know that this skill technically consituted as a ki-ability, knowing it was much different from having another fighter on the field of battle. This was just his skill- his method of combat. Kaijin would recognize the tiger. Kuueru would not. However, neither of them would recognize the next technique the youthful martial artist would utilize. The smoke had yet to dissipate from around him, and continued swirling and churning as he gathered it in. With a flash of blue ki, Tora was enveloped in an albino armor, a bladed tail swinging lazily behind him. His canine teeth elongated into razor sharp fangs, and his hair stretched down his back, reaching his midsection. This transformation elicited a cheer from the crowds- rare it was to see a human fighter. Even rarer was it to see one with such a unique transformation. The Roaring Tiger of Earth let out a gleaming smile once more, this time winking at the crowd. The cheers grew even louder. From there, Tora responded to Legume's orders. "Legume. Here's the way this is -actually- gonna work. Kaijin utilizes a skill called the 'Shatterpoint'. He will try to get one, if not both of us to this stage. If he can utilize this fighting style successfully, we're gonna have a hard time. On top of that..." Tora's eyes locked onto Kuueru. She was strong. Fast. In truth, he didn't know the true limitations of her power. Much like Kaijin, who was impossible to sense. It didn't matter. "You can put pressure on Kuueru if it pleases you. But, I won't just be fighting one of them today. You see, this is where I excel- there's two of them. And..." he said, turning to the giant tiger that he had summoned, "There's pretty much two of me. So yeah- I'll target Kaijin. But, I owe Kuueru one. I've lost to both of them before, separately. Today I'll be beating them both- together." The confidence and pride in Tora's voice was obvious. His eyes had hardened, as the cheers of the crowd became mute to him. A feral tenacity was shown in his expression- which was further reflected by the onslaught of attacks he was about to unleash upon the duo. With a mental command, the elder Tiger pounced towards Kaijin, massive claws emblazoned with ki. The beast would unleash a salvo of attacks, aiming to keep the pressure on the powerful mechanized warrior as best he could. Tora did the same- however, his target was different. Phasing from view, he appeared above Legume just as he finished his second strike with his massive sword. With a ferocity unparalleled, he set forth to slash into Kuueru's flesh, hoping to knock the cute girl around a bit and encourage the pair to focus on him. Tora knew he could take a few more hits than Legume. That was why he had focused his energy into his muscles, hardening them slightly for impact, awaiting the counterattack from his two opponents. Yes, the Tiger of Earth had chosen to engage the -both- of them, unwilling to back down in this instance. A risky move, but without risk there is no reward. Tora wanted to win more than anything- he had something to prove. His own strength. ❛ICECOLD❜❆ An excellent introduction, if there was any ounce of truth to it. The woman looked up to a screen of her with an arm around some snot-nosed Xeno child. Meanwhile, Kaijin was some peace worker administering lifesaving vaccines to the downtrodden. Her eyes rolled back into her head and a soft bit of laughter managed to press from her lips.
"Cute huh?" Kuueru mumbled to her partner as the stage was set for the first bout to begin. Today was the day. She was going to finally use the full extent to her power, she hadn't even used it against Kaijin in their sparring sessions, so it should make for some good fun.
Eventually the formalities were over, and the combatants were called to the ring. Kuueru's face was rather stoic, even when her companion Tora ran upon stage with the goofiest of smiles. She waved towards him, inside she was ready to see how much progress the boy had made since their hot dog escapades.
"Tora, don't disappoint me now, if you're going to beat me, do it." Kuueru uttered and turned her attention towards the man who instructed the tiger fighter. He was the brains, that much was obvious. She would have to watch out for him, that thought was only exemplified as he took on a new form. The shocking electrical energy that surrounded the sword wielder was certainly impressive, but she wasn’t going to count herself out just yet.
Next Tora took on a form she hadn't seen in their last battle. Perhaps he was worth a damn in a fight now. She cracked a smile and then took on a form he hadn't witnessed as well.
A chill set in within the arena, and below the woman's feet the durasteel plating began to frost over. A mist set in around the demoness, encompassing her frame until she was obscured from view of the others. It took only a second for the mist to harden into a frozen block which soon shattered into thousands of crystalline bits. From it, something different emerged. A cyan skin decorated in ornate colds and hues of cool fabrics remained. Her lips were stained a dark plum, and her hair matched the icy blues and purples of her outfit. Not only was the chaotic and malice filled aura what impacted the stage, but her chill radiated like the best air conditioner Zeni could buy.
Her gaze locked with the Saiyan first, he moved with grace despite such an unconventional weapon. The first slash smashed into her thigh, drawing a blue blood to the surface of the skin. The second she was gone. She flanked Tora, her icy aura exploding to harm him from her mere presence. Then, an ice encased flurry of fists aimed for his ribs and midsection.

The day had come.
Kaijin had mixed feelings when it came to this tournament. On one hand, he could list about twenty or more things that would be better spent. Perhaps working on his bio-engineering work, with the DNA he did manage to collect from a Saiyan by the name of Zarun. Or perhaps, heading back to Creed Cybernetics to finish working on his latest projects. But at the same time, he needed to be here. For himself, and for the Leviathans.
He was weaker than he expected.
Once an assassin, an artificial creation at the top of the food chain. Killer of a god. But amongst others, he was merely one of many. Earth, for all it's glory, did not exhibit warriors of the caliber that Kuueru and Lute were. They were of another make altogether. Kaijin saw that firsthand when he fought them. Fighters unlike anything he had ever seen. One with a speed that even his advanced sensors could not detect and follow, with a destructive power that his absorption systems could not control. And then a Namekian Warrior with more control over his body than Kaijin knew was possible for organics, and the ability to tough it out through even the best of Kaijin's strikes, and respond with harder strikes.
They both represented a level higher than Kaijin had thought possible to achieve, and even the small taste of their energy that Kaijin had hungrily pounced upon during their respective battles was just a fleeting taste of what could be felt permanently. If he worked hard enough to achieve it.
Thus, Kaijin set to training. Training to improve his battle tactics and strategy of movement, and incorporating various upgrades into his system to improve his power output. One being the so called "Project Ambience", a joint project between him and the famous Andrew C. Creed. One could call testing an experimental prototype of such sensitive technology in a tournament stupid. But Kaijin saw no other way to test this.
However, he was still nervous. But he would perform as he had to. Him and Kuueru had joined forces because of mutual respect for their respective abilities, and due to the fact that they both figured they would make a good team. In his time with the Leviathans, Kaijin had admittedly grown fond of them, and felt comfort from relying on the assistance of the demoness in such a high profile tournament.
"Cute, huh?" Kuueru inquired, breaking the Android out of his daydream, causing his red eyes to widen slightly, before they shifted to her. Even if his mind was elsewhere, his auditory sensors still picked up and stored the information, even if it wasn't processed through his supercomputer-like artificial brain. Taking a moment to process what he missed, he found himself chuckling.
"Apparently I'm a humanitarian today. I always found propaganda amusing." Kaijin said, before moving up to the plate.
And just like that, the formalities and the pre game hype was over, leading into the main event that hundreds, perhaps even thousands, were waiting for. The first bout was here. Kaijin Vex and Kuueru vs Legume and Tora.
Kaijin had fought the blue haired human before, back in a tournament on Earth. The man knew the extent of his fighting style, having experienced it first hand. Where Tora smiled, Kaijin frowned. Tora could very well provide his partner with the means to exploit Kaijin's weaknesses and thus seize victory from him and Kuueru if he and the demoness weren't careful. However, Kaijin knew much about Tora in turn.
"Fast fighter, his battle style consists of rapid strikes to the body, infusing Ki and disrupting your internal systems, shutting you down from the outside and inside. Do not let him touch you, and if he does...protect against him with your aura. He will tire himself out before long." The Android reported to Kuueru, unaware that the human martial artist had made his way across the baroness before he had even met Kaijin.
A moment later, the two combatants pounced. As Legume transformed into a Super Saiyan, the shockwave sent Kaijin reeling back, who hardly had time to increase his own energy output. And just like that, Tora's giant pet was upon him! Almost identical to before, the tiger took out his ferocious offensive on the Android, with the Android near defenseless to stop it. However, upon the tiger's final blow to knock him away, Kaijin raised his hand, halting the animal's paw with his right palm.
With a small smile, Kaijin looked to the beast.
""Your energy is mine." The Android said before a ferocious shockwave sent ripples through the arena.
Something about Kaijin had changed. His red eyes had gained a new intensity. Teal colored electricity danced across his frame and red vein like stripes of energy ran across his alabaster like skin, as well as his clothes. He was practically dripping artificial energy, which due to its' inorganic nature, was still undetectable by regular means. He had absorbed the kinetic energy that Tora's tiger had struck him with and converted it into usable artificial energy with his new upgrades. Also, as per Project Ambience's original purpose, his new tech was bringing out the latent Ki within him, maxing out his energy efficiency and bringing it all out to light. This was the full extent of Kaijin's power at hand.
With a roar, Kaijin's electric aura exploded outwards in a giant forcefield of blue energy that quickly enveloped the entirety of the arena floor, enveloping Kuueru in a blue, protective light as energized nanobots moved to cover her frame and blanket her against further attacks, while those same nanobots moved to assault the pair, moving to invade in any hole or opening they could find, and make their way into the bloodstream to attack Legume and Tora from the inside.
Hardly wasting time, Kaijin's attention was already focused inwards, his hands poised close together as electrical energy coalesced in his hands, the fierce lightning striking outwards, barely controlled by the Android. Outstretching his hands to Legume, Kaijin fired a powerful beam of lightning at the Super Saiyan, illuminating the sky with it's brilliant blue light. Legume held no assumption that the two warriors he was facing against were in any way less talented or clever than him and Tora - and the precious seconds which unfolded after the Super Saiyan's initial offensive exemplified that. Kuueru and Kaijin reacted to Legume and Tora's offensive with haste, apparently switching the opponents they want to fight among each other - the demoness suddenly vanished from where she stood a moment ago, and in her place, Kaijin released a thunderbolt straight towards him. All while Kuueru decided to take on Tora first, clearly hoping that with her overwhelming power in comparison to the Earthling, she would be able to turn this into a two versus one bout. " Oh no you don't..." The lightning was heading towards him at blistering speed. To take down two birds with one stone, Legume took a breath and twitched his muscles, a crystalline bubble of time suddenly forming around him and everything else - Kaijin, Kuueru, Tora, all the thousands of spectators surrounding them - froze for a fraction of a second. That fraction of a second was enough for the Super Saiyan to make his way towards Kuueru and stop in front of her before releasing a powerful uppercut towards the demoness's chin. Whether or not he would actually land the technique, Legume would instantly fly away to maintain his momentum, his eyes now focused on Kaijin, whose lightning bolt he had successfully avoided withe the Time Skip. The Saiyan's breaths were starting to turn unnaturally tense and coarse, as if something was building up in his throat, and a shooting exhaustion was slowly creeping up in his muscles. He wasn't wearing himself down this quickly, was he? His Super Saiyan 2 form was mastered enough to not drain him of his energy reserves this quickly... Legume's mind suddenly went to the introductions of each fighter before the battle. The announcer described Kaijin not just as an artificial lifeform, but also as a doctor, an expert in bio-engineering who spends his time distributing medication. The conclusion was obvious. Biological warfare.One of the most disgusting forms of waging war. The universal geopolitical stage had long since banned the use of viruses and nanobots in warfare as a part of the Common Rules of Warfare. Unfortunately, it's going to take twenty five thousand years before they are established, so at this point, anything goes. It also meant that Legume would need to eliminate Kaijin as quickly as possible. The Super Saiyan activated his Time Skip yet again, using the fraction of time he froze to fly straight towards the Doctor and release a barrage of strikes towards him. More specifically, in an attempt to immobilize him, Legume targeted his opponent's joints and neck, the closest thing he could imagine to weak points in an android's body. As soon as the Time Skip faded, Legume would leap back, landing a couple of feet away from Kaijin and raising his greatsword in a horizontal, defensive stance. Defensive Phase

Tora had made a mistake. It could be the mistake that cost them the match. As Kuueru's ice cold fists smashed into his body, he was amazed at the amount of pain just the first hit caused. In fact, it was the incredible amount of pain that forced him to react. The same mist like aura that had surrounded him before once again encircled him as he struck his own body, hitting several pressure points. His muscles bulged and hardened to render them capable of sustaining the force of Kuueru's attack. She had acted uncharacteristically cold, a stark contrast to their last meeting. When her combo finished, Tora's now exposed rib cage was turned blackened by frostbite, and he could hardly move. However, when he had struck himself he had forced some of the frost spreading on his body to seek out Kuueru, literally stretching from the spot she had struck the moment her fists would make contact. His whole body screamed out in pain from this course of action and he hissed in discomfort as Kaijin countered against the elder Tiger's attack. Tora felt a shared pain as they both sustained damage- a major drawback of the technique he utilized. Their bond was deeper than anything. Tora could do nothing to evade or help as Kaijin's invasive nanomachines entered Tora's body. This combination attack left Tora gasping for breath- in his panic he had expelled much of his ki. For so early in the fight to have this much stamina drained, he felt... useless. This was embarassing. The crowd had silenced, and an incredible fury had built up in Tora's gut. His stomach hurt- not just from the attack. The pain that he felt now was from shame. He turned to look at Legume apologetically, his eyes wild with pain. "I'll do whatever I have to to give you this win..!" Tora no Seishin's body was unable to move still. He had exhausted himself defensively in that last assault and needed a moment to recuperate. The giant tiger regathered itself and regrouped with Tora, the pair keeping an eye out. This next barrage could be the end of it all, and he looked at the Earthlings in the crowd. They looked discouraged. He cursed himself and his foolishness- his master was silent, and Tora felt the older tiger's frustration through their bond. So this one had an unusual form of speed, as well. Although this one was different from Kuueru's. He couldn't put his finger on it, however. Both Legume the Super Saiyan and Kuueru expressed the ability to move with a speed that left Kaijin's sensors reeling. He could not determine where they went. Their bodies and their Ki signature simply...ceased to exist, only to poof into existence again moments later. This allowed Legume to dodge the Android's lightning bolt, and also allowed Legume to appear before him in an instant. The Android proved powerless to stop Legume as the endless barrage of strikes pummeled his frame, his body moving back and forth with the sheer impact force of such a technique. However, Legume would soon begin to notice his energy leaving his fists as he struck the Android, and the electric sparks around the Android's body becoming fiercer. Followed by the Android clamping down on one of Legume's fists, stopping him mid-strike. "Your energy is breathtaking. I will enjoy picking you apart." Kaijin said, cocking his head curiously to the side, maintaining his trademark poker face. The Android appeared unharmed after such a vicious onslaught. Not only did Tora survive her onslaught, he had attempted to counter her with her own chill. She chuckled and backflipped away from the chilling embrace, just in time to prepare with a new threat.
"I'm surprised Tora, you're still on your feet, now---you'll have to excuse me," Kuueru mumbled as there seemed to be a hiccup in time. It would have been a moment of hesitation for most, but she wasn't that slow witted. An uppercut to her jaw was imminent. Still, she flowed like water away from the strike. Still, Legume still appeared preoccupied with her comrade, Kaijin.
"Hm, interesting," Kuueru uttered before turning her attention back towards the man and his giant of a Tiger. He was still standing, but the look on his face expressed shock, disappointment, or embarrassment. Kuueru couldn't place it. She had even warned the man a week ahead of time of her expectations to be in this tournament. Did he join just to try and fight her again? What did he expect?
"I'm impressed," said the demoness as she held a hand out from her side. From it she shot a blinding gust of frosty air. Once that mist had settled, a small frumpy man-child constructed of snow stood. He was ornate with navy shoes and matching hood, quite the happy looking fellow. Still, she instructed him to be not so adorable.
"Jack, go ahead and focus on that man with the tiger please."
"Aye aye cap'n! COMIN' IN COLD!"
With that the magical snowman flew off towards Tora. In his hand he formed a literal snowball manifested from his ki. He attempted to sling it straight at the Tiger's face to give his creator breathing room.

As one might have expected, the Android didn't seem to be affected by the Time Skip onslaught at all. Of course. Most of them aren't programmed to feel pain, it would only be a drawback for a machine. Coupled with the fact that androids are usually not lacking in endurance and aren't affected by exhaustion... means that Legume is in for a fairly tough pickle. But that's okay. It's not like he is completely on the back foot here. Even android endurance is not infinite, all he needs to do is wear the bastard down... Before he wears the Saiyan down, and with all of this biological weaponry being thrown at him, that did not seem unlikely. At least all of the weak energy attacks Kaijin seemed to be throwing at him didn't get to achieve anywhere near the same effect. As soon as the android appeared behind him and unleashed a burst of energy straight into his back, a hand, cloaked with a paper-thin, but still powerful energy shield, emerged from the blast and grabbed straight onto Kaijin's arm. He may be weakened by the viruses in his bloodstream and his stamina slowly being drained because of that, but tenacity in the face of all that goes a long way regardless. " Good to hear, so will I." the Super Saiyan muttered, referring to Kaijin's previous statement about "enjoying to pick him apart", then chucked the android straight to the air, only to activate his Time Skip immediately after and use the fraction of a second of frozen time to catch up and unleash several joint strikes. Tora steadied his breath, nursing his wounded ribs as he focused himself. He would have to be careful here- especially as Kuueru conjured some strange frost spirit to attack him. The little snowman fired off an orb of ki-infused snow, that pelted against Tora and actually stung him. From there, he struggled to move his body due to the combination of frostbite and the nanovirus coursing through his bloodstream. He was thankful that Kaijin seemed to be focusing on Legume. It gave him enough time to recover from the damage he had sustained; He struck his own pressure points once again, aiming to restore some of the blood flow to his limbs and muscles. They swelled and hardened, becoming like iron- the action hurt, but it was the only way to toughen up enough to survive in this fight. This fight... This was a tough one. He had screwed up right off the bat- his teeth gritted in frustration as he glanced to Kuueru, Legume, and then Kaijin. Here he was looking like the weakling. The loser. The humans in the crowd had silenced. Tora actually saw one little boy crying as he looked at him, a kid in the front of the stands standing with his overweight parents. For a moment, the Tiger of Earth felt like his shoulders had a newfound weight on them. A pressure. He looked at the ground, before he looked back at the kid, making direct eye contact. A thin mist had gathered around Tora again as he began focusing himself, his feral instincts kicking in. He could only target one of the pair. He chose the one he was most afraid of- Kuueru. As his canines elongated even further and his hair became more wild, he began to track her scent completely. Her unique ki signature emitted a potent and pungent aroma to his nose. He'd use that to keep track of her. Ripping some shards of his broken armor off, he tossed them to the ground, giving a second thumbs up to the little kid in the stands. He wasn't just fighting for himself. He was fighting for them. Tora couldn't let these folks upstage him..! Tora no Seishin, the Roaring Tiger Spirit of Earth wanted to be a symbol of hope to these children! To show them that humans can stand tall amidst Demons, Super Saiyans, Androids..! Phasing from view, Tora appeared next to Kaijin, starting with him. He would let his master stay back for now, to recuperate. It was his turn to unleash some punishment. A furious flurry of strikes would follow, before Tora would turn his attention to Kuueru. He followed her scent, phasing from view and instinctively unleashing an incredible series of clawed slashes. The display got a rise from the crowd, whether or not the blows landed. He moved with such incredible speed that time itself seemed to slow around him, especially when engaging Kuueru. He was tracking her, now. His feral instincts had kicked in. They were both on him now. But that was okay. He was used to such. Kaijin's sensors were all in tune, and his reflexes were at maximum efficiency. More than maximum. Project Ambience was more of a success than he had ever expected. He had never felt more alive, more imbued with artificial energy. Tora and Legume were both quick fighters, and as they both rushed him, Kaijin bounded backwards, his hand movements a blur as he blocked and defended against their blows. His body weaved in and out of their blows, his hands catching and throwing their hands aside, his energy leaping out to leech off of theirs, absorbing the energy in their attacks and adding it to his own, which only made the Android stronger. Every blow made the Android better. Every time he was attacked, the Android came back with more. Kaijin moved to push Tora aside, only to find the tiger style martial artist had vanished, moving on to assault Kuueru next. His red eyes shifting back to Legume, he watched as the man lifted his giant blade once more, sending shockwaves rippling through the battlefield. As the horizontal strikes approached his frame, Kaijin lifted his hand, blocking his foe's blade with his hand, before jumping to avoid the next strike. Jumping off the blade to his foe, Kaijin moved to punch Legume, before vanishing right as he was thrusting his fist forward. A feint. His fight with Kuueru had taught the Android that finger beams and bullet sized attacks ran with a greater velocity than high powered beams, due to more energy being dedicated to discharge power and piercing ability. As Kaijin directed his pointer finger at Legume from behind, the finger lit up with blood red colored energy, which would grow exponentially before being discharged in a broad red beam towards his foe. ❛ICECOLD❜❆ This battle was starting to shock the demoness with each twisting turn.
Not only was this Saiyan lad something that rivaled her own speed in battle. Tora wasn't much behind him. She looked at the feral looking man, his long main resembling something of a porcupine. Internally, he felt conflicted. She focused on him, seemingly thinking Kaijin could handle the other opponent without a stitch; at least for now.
There were no words from Tora now. That's how she could gauge how serious he was. Finally, he was ready to take this battle to heart and give his all. The mere thought made the woman beam in the midst of such a tension filled time.
Tora blew past her with blinding speed and worked on Kaijin. Once finished, it was onto the demoness. Her eyes widened as she was barely able to track the man. Nonetheless she managed to take a step out of the way of his claws. He was aiming to seriously harm her, finally.
However, it was her time now. With the man in range she blew another frigid cloud of mist at the blue-haired warrior. It would slow him down, causing him to think twice about his actions. Afterwards her friendly snowman companion Jack moved in with yet another pelting from a snowball infused with ki.
Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was at a disadvantage, she could feel it. Perhaps it was the way he locked onto her with his gaze. Alas, she had to take down Tora, and quickly. "ALRIGHT TORA, NOW WE'RE READY TO RUMBLE!" The woman shouted with the most sinister of smiles blessing her face. From her palm she manifested a lengthy blade of ice. She moved in, her slashes consistence and a dizzying flurry much like the Tiger's claws.

As Legume's battle with Kaijin continued, the Super Saiyan was starting to tell that it was not really going to go anywhere at this rate. And even if it was, then potentially not in Legume's favor. The android was able to easily swat aside his attacks, even when he and Tora assaulted him together, and struck back in the range which the Saiyan was not adequately prepared to counter him in - directly into his bloodstream. What can he do? Biological weaponry is supposed to be banned, not used against him in something as simple as a tournament match. And yet, this was exactly what Kaijin was pulling against him. Not only that, but the longer he is held up with this android bastard, the less time and resources he can dedicate to the other side of the match. Where Kuueru was busy handing Tora the smackdown, and one versus two would be the worst situation for him to end up in. Nope, that's not going to happen. Legume leapt back immediately after Kaijin sent his fist towards him, even if it merely ended up as a feint, and raised his greatsword in response to the incoming piercing energy beam. With a horizontal sweep, the Super Saiyan smacked away the energy attack before vanishing entirely. In what would look like an instant for everyone watching, but a half a second of frozen time to the Saiyan, Legume appeared in front of Kuueru, suddenly parrying the demoness's blade of ice with his greatsword, the two weapons smacking into each other with a powerful shockwave. " No, we are ready to rumble." the Super Saiyan spoke, his voice slightly coarse from the effects of the nanovirus in his bloodstream. Immediately after, he activated his Time Skip yet again, this time to throw a series of light strikes into Kuueru's chest and shoulders before the effect of the technique faded, at which point Legume would continue his offensive with two horizontal blade slashes to try to blow his opponent away. As Kuueru's frost bitten sidekick struck with another ki infused snow attack, Tora took a moment to analyze her moves as she closed in with an icey blade. She uttered a guttural challenge and Tora knew he had no option but to evade. If they struck, that blade would do far more damage to his already injured frame. In his feral state he managed to narrowly evade the slashes, quickly realizing how outmatched he was in terms of damage output. Her dizzying combination really put the pressure on; her insane levels of speed made Tora struggle. In the crowd, the few humans had begun cheering Tora's name loudly- in his focus, he could hardly notice it. As he sidestepped what he thought was her final slash, Legume stepped in and blocked another strike he had nearly been too slow to see. The benefits of having a partner! Regaining his senses a bit, he flashed a warm grin to Legume, gritting his teeth. He sensed the tone of distress in his partner's tone- Tora phased from view, deciding to change targets, at least for a moment. He wasn't sure exactly how much longer he'd be able to stay in this fight at this rate; he was slowly losing Kuueru's scent as the fight went on. She was a hard one to follow. That's why he had chosen to take the pressure to Kaijin. Still, he wasn't operating at maximum efficiency here. He wasn't sure if himself and Legume were going to win this. Kuueru's reserves seemed to be limitless, and she was hard to hit. Kaijin, however? He's not as quick. That was why he unleashed a precise series of clawed slashes towards his foe, hoping to draw his attention from Legume. He roared with an incredible ferocity, his eyes still wild as they locked onto Kaijin. Kaijin grunted in annoyance. His prerogative had been to take down the drastically more powerful Super Saiyan. His nanotech had been working better than expected, but alone it wasn't enough to tackle his opponent in a timely manner, which required the doctor's active attention in order to ensure he met a swift victory, while also keeping pressure off of Kuueru. Legume's speed was proving to be quite annoying, but not terrifically so. The faster one moved, the more energy they burned, especially over the course of a long period. And Kaijin always enjoyed playing games in the long run. He could keep this up indefinitely without even the slightest chance of slowing down. Legume and Tora? Not so much. They would hit their wall. Eventually. Before Kaijin knew it, Tora was upon him, assaulting the Android with a barrage of quick, precise blows. Kaijin's body buckled and turned back and forth due to the tremendous impact force. However, before long Kaijin grabbed one of Tora's hands, halting his action. His red eyes bore into Tora's for a moment as they locked eyes. As the Android righted himself, he seemed very much unharmed, despite being struck several times. "You're next." The good doctor said before twirling and throwing Tora away from him. His sights refocused on Legume, Kaijin decided to change tacts, and take a page out of Lute's book. Kaijin's hand lit ablaze with white energy, which began to coalesce in a white ball of flame in his hand. Then suddenly, the white flame shifted to a deep purple as the energy became more malicious and concentrated, growing fiercely and gaining more structure as it formed an amethyst colored energy sphere, the size of a large softball, that hovered right above the palm. Kaijin held the sphere out at arms length. "Burst into flames at the hands of myself." Kaijin said as he channeled psychic energy into the energy sphere. Suddenly, the area around Legume would suddenly combust into a giant purple explosion, threatening to engulf him in a large, purple, violent expulsion of energy, caused remotely by the energy sphere that rested in his palm. All was going seemingly well in this battle alongside her fellow Leviathan. She was about to land another attack on the Tiger warrior when suddenly the blonde man hopped into view. Her sword smacked against his own, shards of ice breaking off from the impact. She pushed off his blade and took a few jumps back to set the distance between the two, but the Super Saiyan wasn't finished yet.
"Damn you, I was having fun with Tora, now you want my attention as well? Fine, so be it."
She gasped as the man managed to shock her with his speed once more. A barrage of punches clashed against her breast and upper body. She tried to catch her breath, and ultimately the punches stopped. He was fast on his feet however, and his blade tried to meet the woman's flesh once more. She raised her own icy blade, parrying the first of the slashes with relative ease. The second however, ripped into her arm, layers of blue flesh and underlying muscle exposing for the viewing pleasure of those in the area.
She hissed in pain, her eyes shifting their icy gaze to meet the inflictor's. Kuueru's sidekick of a snowman directed his attention to Legume as well, flinging a spear of ice like a javelin at the blond man.
"That was unpleasant. I will make you regret it," Kuueru promised the main, her and her blade shifting from view. She reappeared shortly above him about 4 meters in the air. Her sword was gone now, but around her frame was a harrowing mist. With the snap of her finger the mist conglomerated into giant frigid icicles that would drop towards the Saiyan's body with intense speed.

At this point in the battle, Legume's lungs were practically burning and his head felt like it was about to pop. Whatever Kaijin was trying to pull with his nanovirus, it was definitely lethal to any normal person. And the fact that the bastard Android was continuing to zap him while he was focused on Kuueru didn't help him at all. But who gives a damn at this point. If Legume were a type of person who would fold under pressure as pathetic and insignificant as a mere lethal disease in his bloodstream, he wouldn't have even bothered setting himself the goal of liberating this downtrodden galaxy from its own clutches. He wouldn't have bothered to sign up for this tournament and spent his weekend eating chips and watching Kuueru and Kaijin stomp on Tora alone. " I believe you're going to find me to be a lot more fun than Tora ever could." Legume muttered in response to Kuueru's complaints, blocking the spear thrown by her snowman ally with his upper hand, then swinging Vanity across the air to blow away all of the incoming icicles with a powerful airburst, sending the majority of them flying right towards the demoness. Now, while she's distracted, all he needs to do is- Damn it, I'm in no condition to just use Time Skip over and over.It's not the least energy consuming technique, that's for sure - and when his body's is pretty much in the middle of puking his lunch out during this entire battle, there has to be a limit which even tenacity fails to punch through. Legume stood where he was after he deflected the icicle barrage, letting out a few weak breaths, a faint sound of blood bubbling in his throat and starting to clot his vocal chords following them. The small break to recover a bit more stamina helped somewhat. He should be able to last a few more minutes, assuming no further symptoms or complications. And he has to defeat two opponents who still seemed to be at top shape, with an Earthling who seemed in no better condition than him. ...problematic. " If we could punish people for unpleasantry, that robotic friend of yours would be the first to be charged." Legume replied to Kuueru's second comment and suddenly charged forward, sending his greatsword to the front in a stabbing maneuver, hoping to take advantage of her voluntarily disarming herself. They were ignoring him, and targeting Legume. That was no good. In fact, Tora had a sinking suspicion that if this held up they'd lose- and fast. The same mist like aura from before surrounding Tora, as his muscles once again hardened through ki infusion. His old master had regathered himself, deciding to return to the field of combat. The large tiger pounced towards Kuueru, hoping to keep here preoccupied and draw her attention from Legume once again. Tora turned to face Kaijin, clutching at his exposed ribs. He was starting to feel the repercussions of fighting for so long. Still, a second wind seemed to overtake him, as the nanomachines that Kaijin had implanted him with seemed to wear off. Tora no Seishin pointed to Kai, addressing him directly. "Say. Why don't we have ourselves a little rematch here?" he asked, his eyes narrowing. Phasing from view Tora would appear above Kaijin, tail hanging down to rope around the androids neck. If successfully forming this hangman's noose, Tora would flip head over heels, tossing the Android into the ground and following up with a brutal knee to the gut. As he did this, the elder tiger closed in on Kuueru once more, aiming to rend her limb from limb with his large claws. He was not holding back, as he saw the tenacity his pupil had when fighting against these foes. The old tiger hoped he could match it. The many bystanders of the tournament cheered as Tora and the tiger fought, inspired by the underdog! By all accounts, he should've been done a long time ago. He was hardly holding on. But still, he hoped to win. Tora had always been the persistent one. Fighting even in the face of defeat at the hands of the cold, calculating Android. This new form of the human's was impressive, the martial artist's energy more than doubling since the last time they had fought. He figured that it wouldn't take long at all for him to surpass all the current Earthling heroes that dotted the surface of the Earth. His potential for growth was amazing. It was almost a shame that Kaijin hadn't acquired his DNA yet. But, that was neither here nor there. Tora was tiring out. His form wasn't sustainable. Every time the man attacked him, Kaijin noted there was a sharp decrease in the man's output force from the beginning of the fight to this point. This time, Kaijin allowed himself to be manhandled by the man-tiger, thrown over Tora's shoulder, the Earthling's knee slamming into his gut a moment later. However, once Tora recovered from the fast paced rush, Kaijin slowly got up and dusted himself off. "You're next." Kaijin repeated once more, before pointing to Kuueru. In response to his silent command to his nanobots, the nanobots that had latched onto Kuueru began collecting absorbing ambient Ki from the atmosphere into themselves, and then transferring it straight into the icy demoness, rejuvenating her and filling her with even more power, allowing her the ability to sustain her efforts against Legume as the Super Saiyan continued to focus on her. Holding out his hand once more, Kaijin re-summoned the amethyst colored energy sphere to his hand. Holding the energy sphere of psychic energy out once more, Kaijin would then remotely channel that psychic energy outwards once more, causing another expulsion of condensed Ki to shoot outwards in front of Legume, moving to one more engulf him in the blast radius of another intense energy expulsion.
