She was stronger than she was before. It was a positive change, but still nowhere near where she had wanted to be. What power she had was nothing comparable to the beings that she had met, who held so much more than her, and left such a large gap. One after another, they had also outdid each other in what strength the last one had carried. The girl she had fought, and could possibly catch up to, given the time, had been the weakest of the three she met. While her adopted father, had been the second strongest. His power though, was measly when going against the alien who had brought her onto a tour to explain earth culture to him. Neither of the latter two, she had been able to fight against, not only because it was a bad idea, but also the situation. She was recovering from wounds after sparring with the girl, and had to heal. To do so against one of the beings common enough in earth's history, would have been nothing more than a mistake and early death. To be able to meet them and anyone remotely similar, was the kind of experience that she was no longer questioning whether or not she would have more of. Her life was changing in more ways than it ever had over the years of her childhood, now that she was actively traveling between and from her school. What she wondered more than anything, was whether or not she would be able to find someone close to her power, who she could also spar with. Not being able to against beings of power on that level, left her without any real experience against what tactics they held, and just how to counter them. It was too uncertain to really know when another school event would happen, to rely on meeting participants there, who she could try to fight against. Sparring against them wasn't something that would be consistent enough for her, which was what she needed, if there was going to be any growth. Doing so would result in failure anyhow, knowing that if it was really easy to win these tourneys, she would be living a life that was more fortunate, than what she was trying to make of it. The only thing that made sparring against them different, than that of those who truly had power, was the kind of gap they wouldn't be able to compare to. She was looking for someone more near her level now however, which was a difficult task without any reason to find any such person, knowing the more normal power levels Earthlings had. Small, but numerous in amounts, making feeling around difficult. It was only those whose signature she had really tried to remember, that she could pick out from the hundreds of people who lived in a place like East City, but those signatures were either useless to her due to a lack of power, or it was too soon to really encounter them again without significant progress. Her power was something that had doubled in size, she was assure of it. But it needed to be 4 times what she had graduated with, in order to truly prove she had reached where she had wanted to be. That was where her freedom lied, knowing by then, she could be taken just a little more seriously, in a universe where beings of higher power were around this planet somewhere. Meeting them was just by chance, without any real status of importance, which would justify getting to even approach them. Though she had only really stopped her routine once, due to the injuries she had recovered from some time ago, it still felt as if it had been a long time since she had wandered around the city so early. Impatience was something that was truly a weakness, knowing what beings she kept meeting, and how far the gap of becoming important, seemed like it was so far. All she could really keep telling herself, was that things would change with time, even if such a measure could have amounted to be longer than it should. She had yet to even meet this Asuka, who she had been told she would be introduced to. It was the name of a girl, that much was for certain. But without knowing what their presence felt like, all she could do was go on with her life, until it was time for her to meet with the pink humanoid that had easily beat her. Rather than sigh, like most people would at finding themselves at a loss, she had sat under the shade and comfort of a building, shutting her eyes for meditation. Doing so would only help her find what kind of source she was looking for, through this crowd of numerous power, that felt so similar but different. She was out of the way enough to not really be much of a bother of anyone, and with the location she had chosen to rest under, not yet being open, it simply gave off the appearance that she was waiting. The presence of the shopkeep, she was familiar with, originally being a local of East City, so she would only move onto the next building if she felt the signature. Being a graduate of a school, but still being accommodated by them, there wasn't really much to do in life, other than grow stronger and wait. She considered herself to be informed enough, about any events she could have made money from fighting, being her only source of living as a martial artist, but there was nothing really important happening. Participation in just about any event, wasn't a worry for her, knowing others needed their chance at winning. And it wouldn't do any good for her, to go up against someone who might have been too weak. If not for her own beliefs, she would have considered a sparring partner, someone to look for. But no matter what kind of power they might have had, whether too much or near her own, it would take a lot of incentive, to really see someone so frequently. Not when she had certain goals to meet. She had yet to succeed in conserving the energy of her techniques, and couldn't without practice. zarun

Zarun was still feeling kind of irritated, pent up, you could say, hanging around on Earth. Not that there was necessarily wrong with this planet- no, screw it, of course there was! There was barely anyone here who liked fighting. It was just the way Humans were, it seemed. Or Earthlings, whatever. He'd heard both of those used, and he didn't see the point in having two words for the same thing. Just another weird Human quirk that he didn't understand, not in the slightest. Or, Earthling qui- whatever! It didn't matter what they were called, it made him mad all the same! Something about it was just starting to grind away at him, his inner desire to fight bubbling as he hadn't encountered someone close to his own power.
They were either a normal Human - someone who he could barely even sense, because they didn't fight at all, or they were like that pink girl that he'd met. Way too strong for him to learn or figure out much, and likely to just turn him to dust the moment they started fighting for real. Why did he have to be the one stuck between a rock and a hard place?! It was one way or the other, and he didn't like either direction, even as he was constantly searching for his third path of 'close enough'! So, he had to figure out some way to coax those types out. Humans didn't like fighting, they'd covered that already, so they probably wouldn't just accept an offer to punch each other's face in and reduce nearby wildlife and landscape to rubble around them, which sounded like just the most fun time to someone like Zarun. Huh. You know, the more he thought about it, maybe Sorben was right. Maybe he was a bit weird. Oh, well. Nothing to do about it now!
Zarun focused himself, noticing a city nearby and feeling at least one power that seemed pretty close to his. Maybe just a bit smaller, but it was a really negligible difference. He probably wouldn't have even noticed if he wasn't trying to figure out specific levels. He would've just assumed it was exact to his own. Okay, so this was...East City, right? Right, he thought so. It was hard to determine with these places sometime, even with their names being cardinal directions. It was hard to put value to East and West when you could cross the planet in a short time. Enough musing for now, though.
The Saiyan landed not far from the city limits, moving into a proper stance to focus his power, his Ki beginning to bubble up inside him. His white aura suddenly burst out from around him, pulsing as he released energy outwards, trying to catch as much attention as he could with his flexing. With luck, it would bring that pretty strong (but not too strong) power rushing towards him in heroism, or for the glory of battle, or something idealistic like that. More importantly, he'd be able to scratch that itch in the back of his mind.

Attention wasn't something of a bad thing.
If she had actually held any status to her name, other than being a representative of the school she was enrolled in, she could have been granted opportunities to meet the influential, on a level that only others with similar positions, could have really held for themselves. The kind of issues they faced, were far more than any sort of drama those with no influence, couldn't have possibly related to.
An easy thing to assume, knowing just how much those people could have turned the tides of battle. They were so capable of imposing their will onto others, and who else could resist them, but those similar in power? People like her, with far lesser power, wouldn't be able to do anything but follow.
And she wasn't the type to be content with that. There were a lot of goals she had in mind, things that wouldn't be realized, until she could gain more power and influence for herself. To be in that world she could only guess what it was like, it would take so much effort and work, to really achieve.
But the steps for it, she could at least access, given the chance to find someone she could use who could spur her growth to something progressive. Being beaten down by the strong, could only get her so far, if she wasn't trying to risk her life from them. The safety of sparring had its own limits.
To cause any level of disaster though, was the kind of attention she was not only incapable of, but one she didn't want at the moment. It was what separated her from the Majin she had fought some days ago.
Someone so full of power, but without the proper ambition to really make use of it. The girl was too young, sure, but she could have been guided by her adoptive father, into somewhere they could have taken advantage of. Be the kind of leading force that could do more than live with the common folk.
Sitting here trying to pick out any strong presences, was nowhere near an easy thing. None of who she felt, really put any sort of tightness within her stomach, which while although was an awful feeling, still certified just how much she had yet to be herself. She wanted to have that kind of power.
Use it to be one of the forces people would turn to for their battles, and get some kind of incentive far beyond what material resources could offer. Ruling a planet of her own, was the kind of legacy that would easily surpass those she had knew within her school. It would give them more reputation as well.
Rather than what she was looking for, the presence of someone familiar had interrupted her, and served as reason to stop her meditation to move away. It wasn't a bad decision, even if it stopped what she had wanted. She had been there long enough for her legs to fall asleep, but she had the ability to fly with her ki, and used it, just to float a little. Until the blood in her legs started flowing again at least.
Moving away like this to head elsewhere, it was the presence of a signature from the outskirts of the city, that had alerted her attention to facing that direction. Nothing that made her want to pass out, which was the surprising thing, but someone who felt as if they were actually someone on her level.
Slightly higher, though she wasn't one to complain. Walking was her more preferred method, but it felt so rare to find this kind of presence. So like she had when she went to track down the pink humanoid she met a couple days ago, she took the path of flight, in order to lose the presence she was feeling.
With what experience she had, she did what she could to not keep this person waiting for too long, to come across a guy with the kind of physique an earthling would have had to work hard to get.
There was a lot of things that could have confirmed her suspicions for her, but nothing more obvious than the sight of a tail. Humans didn't have those things, but even without that, she would have made her thoughts known anyway. It was a pleasant situation to find, than anything else.
"You're a Saiyan, right? You guys are pretty easy to spot, with that kind of body."
These beings were one of the most notable in history, next to changelings, who could have been called so many other different things. The former's likeness to humans was especially obvious without a tail, and the idea of a hybrid wasn't something which was too far-fetched. They were alien in origin, obviously, which made it a surprising thing their genetics were actually compatible with people who were on Earth.
"I've had the fortune of meeting a lot of stronger people, if you'd like an introduction, since they have rather valuable resources for training. But right now, I've been eager to spar against someone near my level. I'll even let you make the first move."
Other than their physique, along with them being one of the trendsetters when it came to transformations, there wasn't much she knew about the personalities of these beings. But she was hardly worried.
She could easily handle herself.

Zarun continued to charge, his entire body lit up by the sheer pulsing and power of his energy, his muscles and body straining just a little to keep everything contained. As he felt that power approaching, it only increased more, his excitement just building up and up as it closed in. He was honestly more excited to fight an Earthling than he should've been. He'd only done it once, and power differences aside, technique was what made the Earthlings so special. They had a finesse, a way of fighting that just outclassed so many other species, at least amongst those that Zarun had already seen. They and their martial arts really interested him, and he was eager to learn more some day. Maybe once he left the planet, he'd get strong enough to come back and learn those. He didn't think someone like him would be able to get a hold of it until he better understood himself and his power - he was too impatient for that sort of thing.
He eventually began to calm it down once the female approached, figuring that he'd need this energy for the fight - no sense in getting himself more worked up than he needed to be. He was honestly a little surprised at the compliment he got, tilting his head in curiosity for a moment before he looked down at himself. Was his body somehow different than what an Earthling should have? They usually looked a lot like him, he thought. He had often wondered why Earthlings and Saiyans did seem to look so similar, but he'd just chalked it down to some weird quirk of the galaxy, something that just went over his head. Hell, he probably would've assumed he was an Earthling of some sort if Sorben hadn't figured out what he was.
"Thanks, I think. Maybe we can talk to them later, but-" He was always interested in those you could call 'strong', but thankfully, it seemed they were of a similar mind. She was looking for someone of similar power to fight, and it just brought a grin across his face. "Same here. Think fast."
With that, Zarun seemed to disappear from sight for just a moment, reappearing right in front of Rukia. Without a moment of hesitation, he lashed out with a powerful punch, trying to uppercut her across the chin and send her up into the air. Regardless of whether or not his attack struck true, the Saiyan suddenly curled into a ball as his momentum carried him, flying upwards as he flipped. Unfurling and finding himself turned upside down, he shot a barrage of Ki blasts towards the Earthling, hoping to catch her whether in the air or the ground. Oh, there it was. The blood was already flowing.
This was a great idea.

There were a lot of people she had yet to meet. Ones of varying power, like the last couple, but what was the point in meeting them, if there was no exposure to the kind of skill they held. Sure, there was such a gap that even trying, was something that would likely lead to so many wrongs, as she was only capable of taking on so much damage. But death wasn't something to be afraid of. Just about anyone in this world could have died, with the kind of power that was around. Beings who all hadn't also met each other, according to the changeling she had met some time ago. A big reason that life had mattered was because of one's own doing to make it as such. So she was grateful being able to find someone who she could have fought. The last person she sparred against, that wasn't someone from her school, had been a Majin who wasn't even the same age. This was one to remember, and possibly something to continue pursuing in the future, assuming an alien like this, had ever really came back to the planet. Like the Frost Demon, there must have been some reason this man found himself exploring this planet, and making himself into a beacon of power. Beyond the desire of a fight, there had to have been more. People of different origins didn't just show up here, unless he was some kind of hybrid. Which was the reason she and certain others, even knew about his people being more than what they had seemed in the first place. Their history wasn't something that could die. It was a pleasant surprise to see this man act more civilized than she would have thought. The power that he kept showing off until her arrival, could have easily been a sign of other behavior. But she preferred someone who was willing to talk, even a little, than just go straight up charging at her. She could use someone like this, supporting what choices she could have made. There was always someone out there in society, trying to impose their own beliefs, and this was by far the most recent encounter where she didn't need to really coerce, or seek out some sort of curiosity beyond the obvious. It didn't surprise her that he seemed to actually be fast, once he had actually gotten the go ahead to make the first move. Unfortunately for him, there were a lot of reasons why going second wasn't a bad thing. She didn't know the way he fought, so it was more beneficial to study his movements however she could, preparing herself as she slowly started to condense her ki, in preparation for her own counter. She did so with one hand first, using the other to block what seemed like it would have been an uppercut, which she pushed away. Him deciding to take flight, was a lot different from the fight she had with the pink humanoid, which had just been on the ground. But this was something she found entertaining. With her decision to allow this man to go first, he was making the most out of it, driving her to make certain choices of her own. Dodging those ki blasts required her to actually start flying herself, pushing her own ki to be underneath her, just to be able to avoid it. Preparation was what allowed her to. And knowing that he would need time to recover, she didn't have any qualms in charging forward, preparing to test just what he was capable of doing, using the style of the school she had represented. "I can already tell you're a far better fighter than the girl I fought awhile ago."To be fair, that girl had been a child, who couldn't have been any older than 10, with her kind of personality and behavior. But her regeneration easily put her on par with just about any practitioner of ki, if they had actually been on opposing sides, and meant to harm each other on a more lasting scale. "Demon Leopard."The technique of her school was versatile, being a capable onslaught of either building punches, or kicks. It was that kind of increasing tempo though, that allowed her to measure what kind of force she would need to use, and if the timing had been right because of either of their choices, this would cripple him. She had yet to train enough to conserve the energy she put into the attack, but practice was what would lead her there. Aiming for his torso, it had been a mix of both punches and kicks, the former coming off as if she was pawing at him, with the way her fists were formed. Something that should be taken more seriously than it could came off. She was a martial artist for a reason, and one of her school's many graduates. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Ah, damn it. His first attack wasn't just diverted, even the Ki blasts were avoided by the woman's skillful dodging around them. Alright, so he was up against someone who knew what they were doing in a fight. Good. He was more excited by that idea. If she was someone who could more accurately avoid or predict his moves, it meant she was someone that could last longer in a fight, and maybe could even beat him. Oh man, that got the blood pumping. Earthlings usually weren't the type to be able to fight and beat anyone; he didn't know if they were mostly pacifists or what, but none of them seemed to be into fighting for the most part. It was a disappointment, but he was happy to see they weren't all the same.
A grin grew on his face as he was given another compliment. Well, wasn't she nice? Most people would've just been shouting abuse at him by this point. Which was fine, too. "You're pretty good, yourself. Not a lot of Earthlings can do this sort of thing, huh?" He was getting maybe a little too confident in his own abilities, considering she had just easily avoided both attacks, but Zarun couldn't help it. Something in his body swelled him with pride and excitement, with the desire to not only fight, but to prove that he was better, that he could win. He wouldn't necessarily be angry with a loss; but he was damn sure he was going to avenge it later on if he got one.
Suddenly, he was thrown off when the girl said something out loud. "Demon-" He only had moments to register before she was coming at him with pawing strikes and powerful kicks, aimed mostly around his centre of mass. That was pretty smart; you aimed where it was was hard to dodge, where you could throw someone's breathing out of rhythm. If your breathing was off, it would mess up your Ki pretty bad, most of the time. He couldn't remember exactly where he'd figured that out, but what he was figuring now was that he didn't like being under the constant pressure of this onslaught, dodging around the attacks as best he could. He needed a way out.
Without a word, Zarun lifted his hands to his head, the fingers separated as he focused his Ki like a magnifying glass through his head. He didn't know the name of this technique, but he'd watched an Earthling pull it off once, and he was positive he could do the same thing. Just as expected, a blinding light shone from Zarun's head right towards his opponent's eyes, hoping to blind and confuse her.
Quickly following up, the Saiyan used his Ki to propel himself and launched his knee towards the Earthling's stomach, trying to move slightly above and behind her. He interlocked his fingers and used his fists like a sledgehammer, trying to bring them down on the back of his opponent's head to send her spiralling down towards a tree, and hopefully smashing into it.

This might wind up being a long one. His first couple of strikes, it was hard to tell whether he was gauging what she could do as well, or if there was just an abundance of focus within that charging, when he had came straight at her. There was a difference between the two, as one conserved energy, while the other took risks. Neither approach were wrongful for a fighter to take, as they were the ones who knew their limits best. But it had her feeling cautious. Unlike fighting against a child, this was someone who was actually capable of doing more than play around with her. She could tell there was intention, but just where it would all lead in the end, was something she could only wonder, without suffering the end of it all. Good reflexes were a key to lasting in battle, though it could only go so far, without a mix of both power and accuracy as well. The exertion of her blows hugged tightly against the muscles she was using, alternating between the limbs she struck with. Paired together with the flying, it should have been a combination she could have pulled off. There was no wrongs in having that kind of assurance. "The ground is where most people here feel comfortable, but it would be a weakness not to try overcoming."The warmth of her own power, she could feel was within the air, but timing being on the side of this man, allowed him to keep on dodging what she threw at him. What had been a test of his capabilities, only proved to be more than what she had expected, but it was hardly something that was a disappointment. She was having a lot of fun, being able to actually have a chance, against a being of power like this. The methods he picked out for himself, was one that was unconventional to what she was used to as well. This was the kind of exposure that she desired seeing, and one she knew she would gain experience from, when it was all over. The way to countering this approach to fighting, she would think it over when she had more privacy to herself. There was only nothing but gain for her, seeing what this man could do. It sounded almost as if he was going to ask about what she had said, while she was fighting him. A measure of focus that was common, but not necessarily something she had voice each and every time. The application of basic punching and kicking, was really a majority of fighting, paired together with other techniques that a person might have knew. To even be capable of showing even some of that, it was what made things more exciting, than not being able to get a chance to do so at all. The next attack by this man, continued to be as surprising as what she already saw. While she had thought he was going to fire off an overhead blast of ki, something else had happened. Sharp pain struck her as everything had gone white, forcing her to shut her eyes, and wait for it all to die down. If not for her ability to sense ki, this would have been more of a major weakness, fumbling around like this. But even with her vision temporarily taken from her, she reacted the way she knew she was capable of, using her arms and putting it in front of her as a guard, and pushing away when it seemed to make contact. The momentum given with that push, was a good enough leverage if any, of flying away from where she could feel his presence. That first one had felt like it was only her timing, that kept her from being struck wherever it was. But knowing he wasn't likely to just make one move, only made the second something to brace against. The hard part now, and something she wasn't sure she could manage, was fighting back. "White Leopard."She couldn't properly use her school's techniques to its full potential, so the best she could have done, was feel out his ki, and apply the basics of what her more stronger techniques were a mix of. Contrary to its successor, rather than pawing at him with fists, the White Leopard was a move made to alternate kicks at him, which would build up. The reach of a leg was far more safer in these conditions, than that of the arm, and while flying like this, did have a little bit of an advantage. She only aimed at his presence, hoping to hit something, even if it might have been another failure. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Alright, so maybe he underestimated his opponent just a little bit. A tad. A smidgen, perhaps. Earthlings didn't tend to have that killer instinct, regardless of their martial arts prowess; this girl though, clearly knew what she was doing quite a bit more than he did it. It was already obvious to the Saiyan from the moment he came at her again during her blind state, that there was a distinct difference in skill between the two fighters. That wasn't to say he didn't have combat experience, but he was self-taught, having been schooled by the experience of fighting for his life in the wilderness. It lacked the finesse of her movements, the practice and discipline that were behind his strikes. Well, fine. Zarun wasn't as innately prideful as some of his brethren, not that he knew that, but he was certainly still competitive. He wouldn't allow himself to be so thoroughly outclassed in close combat here, and he wasn't going to let himself stay this way, either. He didn't need a teacher, never had. He'd come up with something better.
Those thoughts distracted him just long enough that one of the alternating, powerful kicks caught him square across the jaw, sending him flying back a bit for several feet through the air before he stopped himself, hanging there. Alright. Now it was a fight. A trail of blood ran down from the corner of Zarun's mouth, which now extended into a smile. This wasn't like the games with Zam, or fights where he or the opponent were vastly outmatched. There was somethign more thrilling - and intense, about fighting someone near your level. When there was that tension of not knowing, truly, whether you could win or not. It started appealing to that combat sense, to that inner, raging beast that was inside all Saiyans even now, in their more civilised ways in this day and age.
Zarun reached up, using his forearm to wipe the blood from his mouth as his smile now grew to a grin, though it was one that seemed a bit more....sinister, than purely enthusiastic or as fun-loving as before. "You're pretty good." Better than him, but fine. They'd already figured out who had more finesse. Then they could test pure power, and see how that went. Suddenly, Zarun was far higher up in the air, his hands above his head as a purple ball of energy appeared between them, barely contained.
His eyes widened, the manic grin only growing further. "Try this!" The purple sphere sparked with powerful energy as he brought his hands down in front of him, opening him as the sphere floated perfectly in place. A beam suddenly extended from it, far bigger than the sphere itself, and aimed straight for Rukia. Maybe he was getting a bit too excited too early, but he just couldn't help it. The feeling of his own blood on his face had riled him up, more than he'd been expecting. How he loved this feeling. Maybe he did come from a savage race, after all.

There were different ways to fight. Exposure for these approaches, she had gained from being a martial artist, competing in tournaments, and suffering losses. Different styles had similarities here and there, like most things in life, but their beliefs were the thing that made what they practiced, something that was their own. Not some copy. Fighting against this man, the way he moved was something she could have easily described as brutal, with where he had seemed to keep aiming. But they both had pretty similar reflexes, so whatever faults he had in mustering up whatever power he could, it was the very thing that saved him from feeling her own. To try and take that ability away from her, like he had done, it was a smart but temporary solution. Timing was the most likely than anything, that would help one of them get through the defenses of the other. As far as she could tell, there wasn't any real specific advantage, that neither of them had of their own. His culture was different from that of a human's, but the lack of knowledge she had of that, didn't handicap her. What was meant to be a weakness, it was through fortune that she had even manage to use what she had, following after what she could feel of his presence, and managing to land a kick at him. It was hard to tell just what part she had hit, but it couldn't have been too damning. She had kicked literally blind, just trying to hit about anything. Nothing he wouldn't be able to recover from. "A lot of people would have panicked, but those people likely couldn't even fight like this."His presence was back on the ground, from the feel of things, and as a fighter who was more physical than energy based, there was no hesitation in following after than remaining in the air. At least for the moment. The pain of having her retinas flashed at, was starting to die down enough to open them again. If he was capable of doing something like that once, there was a chance he could have kept it up multiple times. But the eyes were capable of adjusting, so he wouldn't be able to keep getting away with it. Being on the ground again, was a break from the lack of any footing, beyond the reliance of her own ki. But it was one that was short-lived, knowing it was all action, in a spar meant to contest their own strength. For the moment, she had continued to stick to the ground, as he charged up what felt like a much stronger attack. But she had one of her own, which she was hoping to land. More different than how versatile the techniques of her school could be, as it focused more on pummeling her opponent, if it could land. It would certainly put a dent into either of their defenses, to be hit by such strong attacks, counting down to utter defeat if it continued to persist. She waited, watching the blast of energy head her way, before making the move to dodge it. An action which was something that only kicked off to others. Her shoes had really pressed into the ground, as she moved out of the way, before shooting upwards into the air again when she had. There were few moments where a pause was something capable of creating an opportunity. Something which he could still manage to dodge or block himself, if the timing was off. But even so, she condensed what power she could, using the options she saw to charge forward, to deal what was meant to be a barrage of punches at him. The power was something that could have pierced through whatever toughness a person could hold, if he had really showed such signs of being so on guard. His arms were the next target to aim for, having failed with the torso. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

He missed. It took him all of a second to realise, but he understood what had happened. She had, through skillful movement, just dodged right above his attack, and now was coming straight for him. He had no room, no time to move, to just avoid the attack and was going to have to face it head on. The way that he felt her Ki condensing and stirring up inside her, it was going to hurt either way. The Saiyan brought his arms up to try and prevent the damage that was, for the most part, coming straight for him. Unfortunately for him, there was more of a gap between him and his opponent than he'd realised. The power was obviously going to be irrelevant in this little skirmish; instead, what he was going up against was an opponent who was more disciplined, better trained, who knew what they were doing. Damn it. What did he have to do to try and compensate for something like that? Before he could try and think of a better solution, the first punch struck him, rocking the entire world inside of his head, feeling like his brain was shaking around on the inside of his skull from the impact. It barely registered at first, all the blows that hit him at once. The pain seared through his arms mostly, but soon spread throughout his entire body, whatever it was she had done with her punches. The Saiyan was sent flailing backwards, tumbling towards the ground and smashing into it, leaving a significant crater and a large dust cloud where he had landed. The dust remained like that for a time as Zarun tried to think of what he was going to do, but he was just finding it so hard to think. Not just because of the pain rushing through his system from that attack, but the frustration, the anger coursing through his veins thanks to finding himself outclassed like this. He wasn't sure if he was angry at her or his own inability, or just the situation he always seemed to be in. He was on the losing end of fights all of the time, seeming to just find himself either lacking power, technique or pure combat experience. Was he just going to stand here and accept this? Just once again let himself get beaten down by an opponent that he knew he could beat, that he knew he had to stand up against? Suddenly, the dust burst as the Saiyan exploded from it, rushing through the air with his aura pulsing powerfully around him as he screamed towards the human. "Is that all you've got?!" His teeth were grit and baring, his eyes widened as he focused on the anger and pain. There were dust and scratches all over him, small cuts having been opened up from the impact of her previous punches. He cocked back his fist as he rushed up towards her, trying to simply strike Rukia right in the middle of her face with a powerful strike. Whether or not he hit, he simply swung again in fury, trying to catch her across the side of the face and send her tumbling towards the ground this time. Post Count: 5

The pacing of a fight. If the opponent was weak enough, there was nothing but one's own interest, that kept the fight from ending prematurely. In mass numbers, she could see doing so as something fun, knowing that the ability to outlast against so many, would go on to prove just how strong she had gotten. Individually, doing so was small satisfaction. Fighting could go either way against one person, it wasn't a guarantee results were the same. With more numbers, there was nothing questionable of what she was actually capable of. The onslaught of attacks would keep coming, leaving small room to really breathe. But here against this man, who was capable of matching her, there were enough pauses here and there. No real advantage beyond timing. Fortunate had been on her side, deciding to follow up his strongest blast, with that of her own. She could feel the impact of each blow, and the force put into it, meant to make it difficult to fight back. The feeling of being hit, was something that would linger onto his body, much longer than it would, had she been after a more critical part of his body. But with this hit, was the kick off to more. She had mustered up a lot of her energy, in the hopes that she would be able to hit him. And it was something that had managed to pay off. A couple of more blows, and things could be over. Even if it was mere moments, the ability to watch the pain that she had caused, was always a sight that left her with wonder. It was so easy to look at a fallen body, as one that might not get up again. A position she could have easily winded up in, had this been a situation that was more serious. But the idea that she really had any enemies, when she did nothing more than meet others, while training for a departure to leave her school, was rather slim. A presence like that, would have shown themselves. No matter what damage she could suffer from this spar, it wasn't something that would change the idea that it was anything more than that. The more beings of power she had met, the more it had seemed as if the idea of meeting someone near in power of her, was something rare. An easy solution was to get even stronger than she was, but it was a path that she was always going to chase, unlike finding others near her strength. "If we really go back to back, mustering what we can, things could go either way. "The clamor for more to happen, it was hard to tell whether or not it was meant to rile her up, and cause her to make decisions that were rash. But it also wasn't a bad idea to go and try again. There were a lot of other parts of his body she could have targeted, but in her eyes, having to work harder to lift the arms, was something she found to be more damning for either of them. Though she would still have the use of her legs, even if her arms were taken out. Something most didn't make use of. Her response wasn't a no. It gave those she talked to, something to think about. This man didn't seem like he was really the sort to freeze up. The way he moved held confidence. Embraced for what could happen to him. A fact which held its surprises. With the same burst of speed shown to her when they had began, he charged forth. Fast enough to where she found herself facing the sharp pain of being hit in the face. An action that managed to push her back, but not the end of what was to come. With the kind of footing that she was left with, she couldn't make the efforts to dodge, but only guard at what came to her next. Fists had dug into her arms, meaning to hit the side of her face next. She pushed it away after guarding, like any other attack, using what little moment she had, to wipe what blood she could feel from her nose. Brutal was definitely what he was capable of causing. But through what time she had to recuperate, she moved forward again, aiming to target the sides of his stomach. Something which would leave a wound if she had managed to hit its mark. He wanted the flow of things to pick up, so she took her chance to do so. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Yes, this was exactly what he'd been looking for all along.
The feeling of blood rushing across his body, of tasting it in his own mouth and knowing that it was his. That numbness that was there for just the briefest of moments in your hands after hitting someone, the way they shook like a sledgehammer having crushed a cinder block. That feeling, that rush, that joy flooding through his mind, that was what he'd been looking for all along, what he'd wanted. Maybe it was some savagery in his brain, somewhere in the back of his mind that he didn't truly understand, but he needed this. Something in him needed this. Some wild, raging animal in his soul demanded it, roared out in anger at the fact that it had been denied this feeling of battle for so long, even if he wasn't seeing it as a fight for his life, or anything. He didn't know if he'd describe it as a sparring match; it was a little rough for that, but he supposed it was the closest thing he had to an explanation for now.
She was coming again, whipping around him to try and come from a blind spot, to assault him from the side and go for the lower areas, closer to his abdomen and chest. It was a pretty smart play. He'd been able to tell she was trying to do real damage to his arms earlier; maybe adrenaline and pure instinct was the only thing that prevented that damage from really hurting him, but regardless, he wasn't about to try and play games with her - her previous attacks had shown him how dangerous she already was, and he wasn't about to mess around and get himself into more trouble than he needed. Alright, then. Time to keep things going, huh?
As Rukia's strike, precise and deadly, came rushing for Zarun's side, his body seemed to shift. He was suddenly leaning back, managing to make himself a small enough target to avoid the attack, using quick speed to dodge it entirely. Using the balance of his left leg, he brought up his knee in a powerful strike aimed for her chin. Regardless of whether or not he was successful, the Saiyan whipped around, first going for a kick to the head and following up with a barrage of attempted punches, elbows and knees, trying to drive his opponent back and overwhelm her defenses. He had to take her seriously now - he acknowledged that.

Humans could only go so far before reaching their own limits. The damage that she had suffered, felt so much worse to her, than likely what any being of power alien in nature, would have been able to recognize themselves. They were able to handle so much more than what she was capable of, and while there were humans out there who trained themselves to do the same, she wasn't there yet. All of this exertion, little by little, was helping her get there, but she was hurting now. What made this situation so different than her experience with a Majin, was just what this man was capable of dishing out. The few times he had managed to land a hit so spot on, she could really feel just how much it lingered onto her body. Even guarding against what slipped through her defenses, left an impression. Though she still had ki to spare, she was starting to tire out in a way that anything opportune for him, would be what would have her fall over in exhaustion. It was through her own persistence, that she had yet to reach the state of adrenaline, which she could have used to make use of the situation at hand. Everything that she was capable of, it was something best off to try and keep mustering, no matter what kind of fatigue was already hitting her. Against someone who was much more capable of lasting, it was one of the options she had that she considered to be viable, next to conserving what energy she had. But the latter was more suited knowing there was a chance someone else would show up. A lot of things were different here. She was one to try finding any openings, and making use of them, dishing out what she could, rather than trying to stay afloat against someone who she might not be able to beat. Someone like him, who was slightly higher than her own power, there was a chance to succeed, but not without suffering what she already had. The blows she threw struck nothing but air, as his body had gone and shifted, with speed coming along to make use of ignoring what she had sent out completely. It made what she had mustered up, even down to the speed of it all, useless. But what else was there to really do, other than to keep on trying? The next strikes that were aimed at her, the first one was something which she had managed to block, trying to pace her breathing through it all. That was meant to be aimed at her chin. A blow which like aiming for the middle of her face, she would have felt the sharp pains of. The other strikes that were sent at her, they came at so many different ways. Ones to the head, along with barrages in different forms. Even while using her aura to guard against what she could, keeping any possible injuries from being too heavy, she was still hit in the end. Like what he must have wanted, she was pushed back more and more, until it seemed like there was a pause where she could have made use of. All of the breathing and pushing herself to keep continuing, it brought out far more adrenaline than what she was already dealing with, numbing what she could of things. But then came her own preparations. To be so versatile like he had done, she would have to do more than muster what strength she could. There were different ways she could have struck his power, leaving the chance to do much more to him, if she could just find the right timing for it. He couldn't dodge everything without exhausting himself, although choosing not to would also mean the chance he would suffer. Punches had came first with her strikes, aiming to hit at the throat. It was the little places like these that many wouldn't expect to be struck at. Not when there were more visible and obvious areas. Next had been the inner arms, which she aimed to strike at using her legs, kicking forth. Both different strikes would have left different lingering impressions, but it was her fists that did so much more. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

As Zarun had closed in and put in his own barrage, she retaliated. Okay, he was expecting that much. What he wasn't exactly expecting was not only the ferocity of the attacks, but the precision with which they were being performed. Even as he saw her approaching, watching through his Ki almost made her seem like some kind of spotted cat, rushing at him with teeth baring and preparing to rip his throat out. In fact, that was exactly where she seemed to want, so it was where he was going to protect. The Saiyan's arms came up as he used the extremities of his body to protect softer tissue and vital areas, to hold off the assault from places he really didn't want it to be coming down on. He was a warrior still, but he also wasn't someone who liked getting throatpunched when he could avoid it. The pressure of the attacks was far more than one would expect from simple punches, even those infused with the energy of a powerful warrior. They felt like they were cutting, almost slightly burning in how they left steam coming from where he had deflected the blows with his armour and body. Still, thankfully they weren't serious enough to cause real damage.
That was, until he saw the follow-up coming for him, and he didn't have time to block.
Shit.
Zarun decided not to be impractical, choosing to use his energy, speed, and his time. He dodged away from the blows, rapidly avoiding the strikes that he saw moving for pressure points in his body, possibly to interfere with the flow of Ki in his body. It was shrewd to do that, and he actually quite admired the move. Still, that was why he avoided it. Flipping backwards through the air, Zarun seemed to rapidly disappear and reappear, using his speed to try and confuse his opponent as he reappeared behind her, attempted to swing a powerful, almost tree trunk-like leg into the side of her temple. He was playing a bit more conservative now, but that didn't mean he was taking it easy. He wasn't expecting that tide of offense; and he wasn't sure exactly how long he could last under something like that coming for him again, either. He had to try and end this quickly.

Not good enough. The kick in adrenaline that her body sent her, was supposed to have helped with her timing, and through the motions that she exerted in an effort to overcome her opponent, be able to land something damning. But this guy wasn't someone who even while she was trying to muster what she could, seemed to just falter and give up. He could afford it, being the one who was more capable of withstanding hits. Though it was also for that reason, was she doing what she could. Her blows were something he blocked though, lessening the kind of impact that it was meant to have. An understandable thing, knowing that her target was one that held nothing but the feeling of something uncomfortable, in a different way that a broken limb could offer. Still, the slowing down he did, wasn't really something all for naught. She could feel her own fists pressing into his arms, in the kind of way that showed the adrenaline in her body was going away. Whatever damage she had been capable of dealing, in just punching at him alone, it was nowhere near enough to what it should have been. How sore her hands would be after all this, wouldn't have been as bad as it could be, if her aura wasn't something protecting her from fatal damage. There was a lot of warmth sent out with these strikes, but no matter how much heat she was trying to pack, it wouldn't matter much if she couldn't really land a good hit on him. She only found it fortunate that with how long they were going at it, there should be somewhat exhaustion pouring into him. "Getting tired, yet?"It wasn't something meant to be mocking, and with how hard she was trying, while he was dodging her next strikes, it wasn't like she really had the kind of look for doing so either. Both of her attempted assaults, would have done some good damage, if it had managed to actually land where it was supposed to. But her first set of blows, the timing wasn't enough for her to leave something lingering, while all of this he was missing the heat this power really had to it. Through it all, even when the adrenaline in her body could no longer help her, she was still reminding herself of the weight his presence had to it. Something that allowed her to just jump away, from where his signature had suddenly appeared. All of that speed was always something of a surprise. Strikes that could be so much worse somewhere deadly. Compared to before though, this strike was something far less demanding on her part. Without trying to condense her own energy, and focusing more on possible opportunities, she could do nothing but hope for the right timing. But even trying to gather what energy she could, wasn't some guarantee. Still, she did exactly that, seeing him taking things easy, trying to hit him in the solar plexus this time around. This could have gone somewhere, and it also could have been something he could brace again. No matter what though, it was serving to be an experience she would look back on. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Zarun was very glad that he'd decided to try and catch the attention of someone today. In his frustration and all of his own luck, he'd managed to come across someone who wasn't just a disciplined fighter, but someone particularly talented. He'd fought much more powerful beings of course, and lost, but there was a distinct difference here. The power was almost irrelevant now. She was not testing his pure strength in combat. She was testing his strategy, his reactions, his instincts for battle. Fighting opponents like this one was what made a Saiyan warrior, what created the greatest fighters to have ever lived. There had to be more out there like her, but it was few and far between. Yes. He'd just managed to go and find someone truly special through his little bout of attention seeking. As he kept his arms up to block her blow, her comment, just barely heard over the ringing in his ears from the strikes that had hit him already and the powerful thrums of their ki, made a small grin form on his face, more akin to a toothy smirk. What a funny question. She didn't seem like the cocky, taunting type, so he doubted that was what she was going for. Still, it didn't hurt to play along as he looked up to make eye contact with her, his grin more obvious. "Not yet."
Suddenly, she was lunging for him again, this time going low, aiming for the solarplexus. That was smart. A punch there could put a lot of opponents down for good, and the strike she was throwing out looked like it might actually do just that to him. Thankfully, he had one last trick to use. As her strike moved in, it seemed sure to make contact with his abdomen. Or at least, it would have, if the Saiyan didn't seem to fade away. He wasn't there at all; only his afterimage had remained in the small space where she'd stopped her assault to pick up on the next. He had both focused his Ki on his speed and left almost a phantom of it in that spot, creating the effect of moving so fast that he left an imprint of himself.
In the split second he had, Zarun began to recover his ki, reappearing to the side of Rukia and heading in the opposite direction to her. As he did, he lifted up his knee, hoping to land a strike in her stomach and keep going, rushing through the air and dragging her along. If he did, he would wait until they were closing in on a rock face to thrust his leg and knee forward, trying to send her flying back or head-first into that very formation of rocks. His grin only grew as his knee came up towards her stomach, preparing to bring that plan into action. He couldn't help but admire her skill in battle. In some weird way, it made her almost seem pretty. Though that was likely just his instincts for battle playing on him. "You're really good."
There was no sarcasm in his voice. She was the best opponent he'd had so far.

Of course he wasn't. It had been the same way with the young Majin she had fought, though there were some differences here. Rather than coming off as fantasy, or the need to be informed by a third party, she could actually believe that he could have kept going. But the lack of regeneration was what made things so different. If not for his own capability when it came to timing, she would have had much more of an advantage here. As things were now, all the power that she was trying to muster wasn't enough. He could dodge, he could block. There had been moments where she had felt like things could have been damning, had she just been there a little earlier, or put in a little more power. But each failure served to be a reminder on just what she needed to improve on, to really deal the kind of attacks she had envisioned herself being capable. This wasn't the best that she had to offer. There could be more power put into things, and at the same time, also conserving what ki she had. With the right amount of waiting, even something like accuracy could be made up for, if who she was facing was mistaken enough to believe that she was throwing a feint. "It's unfortunate that I've already started to reach my own limits."They could have kept trading blows, hoping to get an advantage over another, but as it was, one more strike was the only thing either of them could have possibly needed, to really get somewhere satisfactory. For her, a single good hit could have put him into a position where he could nearly fall. One more on her, and she would find herself being the one to collapse. The kind of lingering that injuries were so capable of, there were so many easy moments where she felt the weight of it all, far more than what was normal. It was the weakness of exhaustion, and more than anything, went on to prove how much harder she needed to work, in comparison to these other beings of power. Her breathing was really something she tried to pace as best as she could, occasionally timing it with either her own strikes, or the efforts to block what came at her. There was a certain kind of preparation, that came from these kind of movements. Doing it all so often, it was really only just where his targets seemed to be, that she found to be surprising. The consequences of what could have happened, had her reflexes been so terrible. It was something easier to block his first few movements, after seeing he was using speed again to dodge that of her own. The latter of which she took action of herself, to handle what remaining efforts he seemed to be putting in. Endurance could so easily be something of a spectacle, if it was possessed. "I'll give it one more shot, before it's best if we make a departure. This fight will leave me sore for a few days."As preferable as it would have been for her, when it came to one last clash, she couldn't muster her power for a barrage, with what little ki she could feel she had left. Which meant there was only versatility. She had a lot of hope throughout this whole fight, that she would have struck somewhere fortunate. Making something linger far more than it really should have. Out of everything she could have pulled off though, this last one would be a nice try. His back muscles were another unconventional spot to target. If it was successful, it would surely be a shock, and even if it would likely just be for a moment, serve to be a crutch for her to lean on. Between this and that young girl, she felt more exhausted here. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

In all honesty, he was still impressed with her, even if she didn't see her showing as much to be happy with. Most Earthlings were not gifted with power, much of any at all. They tended to be born weak and with very little room to manouver, stuck in a situation where you would assume many would give up and assume that one day they would be destroyed and have no way to stop it. Yet, they didn't. Earthlings trained intensely, far more than many other species. They had a resilience, a determination that was hard to find in other species. They had a dogged stubbornness, a desire to never give in and to fight their hardest, no matter the situation. Zarun had hoped that their nature had rubbed off a bit on him - he could use determination and raw stubbornness like that, the ability to refuse, to simply get up and keep fighting, no matter the situation. He was excited at the prospect that one day he could be like that, and he saw that great, burning will within Rukia, in the fact that she hadn't given up yet, that she refused to surrender no matter how bad the situation got.
She was still so fast. In what felt like mere seconds, strikes had begun to pound down upon his back muscles, almost freezing up his back for a moment as he was unable to process what had happened. How was it that someone with so little ki left, maybe a sliver of her energy still in her body, was still able to fight at this level? Was able to do this much to him? He grinned as he fell down onto a knee, using his hand to prop himself up, his fist slowly closing as his smile only grew. "I know. Isn't it great?" He turned as he stood, his back clenching up in pain as he ignored it, fighting through as he threw his closed fist at her. Instead of a strike going for her though, as it got close, his hand simply opened, a bright light shining from it and aiming to blind her once again. He'd done this trick once, but it wasn't just his head that he could use. He'd figured that out - different kinds of energy could be created with Ki, and he wanted to experience and try them all, to see just how many ways he could manipulate it.
"I'm going to get stronger. When we both do, we'll do this again." Zarun's body suddenly burst into a deep purple flame, his skin seeming to almost sear, steam coming off it as it made all the sounds of burning, but showed no real injuries yet. His back muscles were too busy feeling the burning heat of his aura to be able to distract him by freezing up, and instead, the Saiyan just charged, concentrating all of his raw power into a series of attacks. He went for a powerful strike to try and send her flying into the air, reappearing above as he sent a barrage of Ki blasts towards her. He immediately rushed down as he did, not letting any time to breathe as he attempted to mount his feet on her in mid-air and bring down a barrage of punches and blows onto her face and body, hopefully bringing her down into the ground with him.

On a more human level, pain wasn't something of an issue. It was proven that working the muscles in such a way, would do nothing more than build it back up to be stronger. Produce more toleration for going beyond current limits, and overall resisting things better. She had been beaten in her last fight against a child, one with the kind of regeneration where nothing but a stronger opponent, would have really aided in any learning. Capable of getting through those defenses the way she couldn't. It was wrong to be strong and not learn something of value when it came to fighting. Here, where it looked like she would take another loss, she saw how much she needed to train when it came to accuracy, while continuing to shape her own reflexes. To be fast enough and be difficult to hit, while also dishing out what power she could, had been her plan when she had yet to leave her school grounds. But that kind of mindset was ever changing. There were improvements here she saw was possible for her to make, and different approaches in how to fight. Her reflexes were already better than the average human. Though that didn't matter much, if those she kept meeting had the physiology of those who were better. Perhaps it was better to shape her reflexes just a bit more, and focus on her own timing. It had been the reason why they kept being unable to get an advantage over each other. He should, and really did, have more of an easier time going against her, with how he was just a little bit stronger. "Coming out stronger after it's all over, yes. But it leaves little room to do much of anything."Much like having to wait for certain things to be ready, when it came to cooking. There was no control over that sort of thing, and an aspect like that was what she wanted to maintain through her life. This encounter served to be one of them, not needing to bide her time into kissing up to anyone. Her strikes had managed to land where she had wanted it, and for a moment was a period of rest for her. But she had to pull herself away, feeling the kind of energy that he was preparing, which looked different from what attacks he had already shown her, with that kind of stance. She moved her arms in front of her to shield her eyes, though still kept in mind that he hadn't really struck her yet. The way his ki moved, like many others she felt, was always an interesting thing. What she had seen from him so far made his movements somewhat familiar, as she could tell he was really pushing what he had. Though it was because of that did she also need to do the same, avoiding these blows that came at her, using what energy she still had. She could have been in much worse shape, with what little ki she had. Her movements were heavier though in a way that was obvious, with how her dodges became something more like blocks, due to what lengths she was going on to push her body, just to not get hit. "I should more or less have fully trained my natural skills by then. Power level affects a lot of things, but there won't be an end to people with more and better."Which was the reason there wasn't a need to really rush. She wanted to incorporate new techniques as well, knowing the only being of power with good defenses, had been a child that she had fought. The displayed he showed her, really flared, but in the end, it was another exchange which either of them could have avoided at the level they were now. Something to prove how much needed to be changed. "As I've said, it's best to make a departure for now. I think even if it might be awhile, I'll be able to track down your signature if you ever come back to this planet again."He was an alien after all, judging from what she had heard from him. Ki signatures were pretty easy to remember given enough time for it, and just how different it really was for everybody. With that said, she had gave a small wave, as she took off into the air, being in no condition to walk. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

As much as he swung and attacked her, it was to no avail. Rukia's level of skill and their relatively equal power meant that even if just barely, she was able to avoid the powerful onslaught he'd charged up into his body. The Earthlings jsut kept impressing him with every single day he challenged one, every time he saw one of them in battle. He'd heard so much about the battle prowess of the Saiyan race, the race he was trying now to emulate and live up to, but it seemed like the Earthlings were no slouches either. He'd heard that there were half-Saiyan and half-Earthling children that ran around and there had been that interbreeding for hundreds of years now, which didn't surprise him. Ignoring the fact that Earthlings were naturally prettier, they and Saiyans likely had a mutual respect for the abilities of each other. In Earthlings, there was a distinct level of skill that you didn't find in many powerful fighters, who had their guard constantly open, who had no technique to their movement and kept falling short even with a large power gap, thanks to their own inability to adapt to someone weaker than them somehow overcoming their attacks, or overwhelming them with discipline and practice.
With Rukia backing away and even shooting him a wave, the burning purple aura around Zarun dissipated. He smirked, raising a hand to wave back as she floated off. The Saiyan meanwhile, slowly descended, landing his boots quietly onto the soft grass below. He only now was starting to smart, his bruises and wounds from the battle finally being noticed thanks to the adrenaline no longer pumping through his veins, and the excitement of battle not getting his blood rushing to his head. She really had done a number on him, hadn't she? His back was particularly painful, having been hit with a powerful and rather debilitating attack so recently. It was a strike that had somehow, now that he felt it, rushed through his Ki channels and disrupted them, much in the way he had intended to do to her with his rushing of attacks. Hmph. That was impressive.
Whatever the case, she was gone now, and Zarun had little he could do other than rest. Rather than fly off in search of a home he could return to or some kind of camp, the Saiyan simply dropped back, landing back-first onto the grass and staring at the sky. He hooked his fingers together underneath his head as he looked up, excited for the time when his wounds would have healed and his power increased. Then, they'd have the chance to do this again. He couldn't wait.
