HOLLOW, THRONE OF THE DEMON KING, Scorched PalaceThe drums beat incessantly. The entire Scorched Palace--the blistered, blackened, and marred remains of the former Palace of the Triumvirate--was abuzz with activity and festivities. The area had once been the sprawling gardens and lush yard of the former regime. It was Lute's fault that it now was a desolate plain. But, he ordered bleachers erected around a pit. The pit's walls were stark metal on all sides, bare and without decoration. Floating magical lamps cast their azure glow over the area. Each stand was backed shoulder to shoulder with spectators. They pounded their feet and fists with the rhythm of the drums. They tore into flanks of meat and raised their glasses of booze high. Lute had spent more than enough time in fighting pits across the galaxy, slugging it out with aliens of all shapes and sizes. Now he didn't have to frequent those seedy dens anymore to sate his thirst for battle. As the Demon King, he need only decree it and the fights began. Hollow had never seen these many--tourists. Ships from across the galaxy had flocked in, to tour and experience the Hidden City. The economy was bustling, the small-folk happier than they had been in centuries. Lute stood in the arena, his shirt off, his body covered in dried speckles of blood. He raised both of his hands into the air as his servants dragged the broken body of the warrior he defeated out of the ring. "Who is next?" he shouted. The voices in the crowd fell silent. It had been a matter of hours since she had emerged from the Wizard’s Tower. Lute’s promise had been fulfilled; she had learned the truth of her origin. She could feel his power. Just as overwhelming as it had been when she had stood before him and made her request, if not even more so. But that no longer concerned her. She no longer cared about the gulf in power between herself and the Demon King. It had made her nervous, before. Now, the fury that boiled within her demanded release, and maybe that would cost her dearly. Maybe she would surprise them all. The next demon who had been hoping to contend with Lute was flung from the line, hitting the ground in front of the Demon King, his body rolling to a crashing halt. The silence in the hall was more deafening than the applause had ever been. And then Pleez stepped into the ring. She had changed a great deal since her audience with the King. There was none of her old, broken mercenary armour any longer. She was smaller, slighter, more compact; her head-tendril had extended, and her eyes taken on a bloody red hue. Her body was covered in a ragged shift of white silk, wrapped tight about her chest and waist. She hadn’t even bothered to find any shoes. All those physical changes, though, paled in comparison to the monstrous, chaotic surge that her aura had become. Where before, Pleez was a calm, stoic and dour presence who was not prone to strong emotion at all, now the ex-Mercenary’s aura was a violent storm of destructive impulses. Her anger seethed inside her like a living thing. It was an animal prowling a cage, waiting to be unleashed. “That’s enough of the weaklings.”
Pink lightning shocked across Pleez’s outstretched arms. It sparked through her, across her, and then gathered in her palm, where it took on the tightly-bound sphere that Lute might remember from that terrifying battle – the struggle against the Saiyan berserker that felt as though it had been a lifetime ago. The lightning continued to surge about her as she pointed upwards, balancing the ball on her finger. “I need to say THANK YOU.”
Pleez’s voice didn’t sound particularly happy, though, and with a swipe of her finger, the ball was sent hurtling towards Lute at breakneck speeds. Unlike many energy attacks, the dense sphere of compacted energy wouldn’t explode on impact, but instead rebound off with crushing force, only to be redirected with a second swipe of her finger – the energy attempting to crash painfully into the Demon King’s gut before snapping up into his jaw. The Demon King cracked his neck as Pleez stepped into the arena. The majin was an old acquaintance from his assassin days, someone he respected for their strength and tenacity. Even more so now that she had seemingly returned from the grave. Majins were notorious for their ability to survive at all odds. After retrieving the Book of Bibidi from the Demon Realm, Lute had learned even more about their origins and about their potential. Pleez was now mostly a force of chaos and destruction, untapped for the most part. She no doubt was only beginning to realize her full potential. As she approached, his own malicious aura began to seep out of him in dark tendrils, rising like smoke. Anyone cursed with the ability to detect ki, would feel a phenomenal amount of darkness in the air. It laden with the pressure of corrupted ki, crimson bolts sparking and crackling. The sphere shot forward, cracking Lute in the chin. His head jerked back, and then he swayed forward as it collided with his gut. The crowd let loose a roar of appreciation for seeing the Demon King hit. He wiped the sickly purple blood from his lips and grinned, showing one of his sharp canines. Both of his pupils sparked with brilliant azure light and erupted into two searing lances that Lute swept sideways, trying to rake across her. Vanishing, he appeared right behind her, his fist clenched tight. He used it like a mallet, trying to slug her in the base of the "spine." BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Lute’s presence was a potent one – there was no getting away from that. His mere aura was enough to smother her will to fight to some extent – but Pleez’s heart was surging with an uncontrollable desire to fight. Perhaps the presence of her one-time comrade would be just what she needed to recover herself. Or perhaps it would drive her further into the hateful frenzy she was experiencing. The Majin turned to the side as Lute’s eye lasers burned towards her, and she gave a sharp twist of her hand, drawing the sphere of power back down from the rafters, careening towards the namekian warrior. But, it was too late to connect. It impacted the ground where Lute had been a moment before, and he was behind her, aiming a powerful blow at her spine. Her body tensed reflexively at the impact, and she skidded forwards on the floor, her eyes blazing wildly as she rounded on him. The blow itself didn’t seem to have done any significant damage to the Majin, but her fury was written all over her face. Those terrifying eyes of hers blazed with passionate anger. “Not even a word?” She spat, “We’ll see how quiet you are when I beat the crown off your head! I'll make you SCREAM for mercy!”Pleez’s hands tore apart in a violent motion, and the sphere split into two, swirling around each other in a terrible frenzy as they came in from left and right, a buzzing THRUM filling the arena as she brought them together – fully intent on crushing Lute’s sides between the blasts of power. Lute caught both of Pleez's concussive blasts in his open palms. They buzzed and whirred against his aura, which barely even stirred against the power. With a single exertion he snapped his fists closed and crushed them, the spheres exploding harmlessly in his palms. He walked towards her, his feet barely stirring the sand as he did. His energy was an enormous tsunami against her tiny rock, but she had withstood the storm. Yet, the winds had just begun to howl. He fully intended to erode her away, even if he couldn't find much purchase against her strange anatomy. "There are little words that we can exchange, here in the arena. This place is for blood, for glory, and for honor!"He stopped, a few yards away from her and stood tall, tilting his head back slightly. Ki began to swarm and swell from his torso. A lite shone between his teeth and he loosed his jaw, nearly unhinging it to barf forth a giant crackling amethyst wave. As it crossed the short gap between the two warriors, it turned the sand to glinting shards of glass. The moment after he anticipated it to make impact, he doubled his efforts, the wave swelling in size to nearly engulf the entire arena. The lanterns that shone their arcane light over the pit, also served as defensive shields. As mass of energy pressed against them they sparked an sputtered. The crowd on the other side of this barrier were a hair's breadth away from annihilation. And yet they reveled in hit, roaring, chunks of half-chewed meat and spittle flying from their jaws. “Honor? Glory? HAHA! You JOKE!” Pleez’s eyes shone brilliant scarlet, and – well. Lute must surely have become attuned somewhat to the flow of magic given his time in the demon realm, surrounded by demons, and commanding demons. Pleez dug her feet into the tournament stage, and the flow of magic bent wildly to her command. The energy that she had thrown at him was not purely ki. When they had last fought, she was a bruiser – sturdy as all her kind have the reputation of being, but a blunt instrument. This time, as the last vestiges of her powered withered and died about him, Pleez thrust her elbows back and howled. The weft of magic answered her scream, and pink lightning arced all around the namekian warrior, the burst of power unleashed in the instant before he was on her again. The Majin flung her arms open wide as the counter-shock of overwhelming power smashed into her, and lifted her bodily off her feet. She was flung into the arcane shield protecting the arena, and her gummy body was splattered against it. "There is only blood. And I don't bleed!" But it was only a momentary reprieve. In the very next instant she was rebounding from the shields, trailing a crackling, eerie pink light of her own. Her eyes wild, her body balled up, she aimed to smash herself bodily into Lute, wrap her lower half about his chest, and begin slamming her fists into him over and over again. There was absolutely no finesse to her assault, unlike the Demon King’s rather impressive and stylish display of command and control. She clearly had some strange, innate command over the sorcery which flowed through the arena – but she was all martial, no art. A brutish thug reliant on the natural capabilities of her near-indestructible frame to overcome and power through the forces arrayed against her. Naturally, the crowd loved it. She was still very much the underdog, but there was little sign that anything done to her so far was slowing her down – whilst that last attack would surely have outright killed any of the previous competitors! Pleez hammered on Lute, over and over again. He was resilient, as was a cornerstone of his people. Namekians could recover quickly from wounds and endure things that would crush other races. But, Majins were nearly indestructible in comparison. Lute knew this. And he fully intended to win, despite this. He had beaten Pleez before. Sure, she had changed--evolved past her lackadaisical former self. The warrior who cared more about quick coin, than about real power. But, so had Lute. He wasn't the brooding assassin. After her pummeling, he looked her straight in her bright scarlet eyes. There was a hint of red in his too, hidden behind the smoke and darkness that swirled around him. "Is that all you got?"His arms were trapped at his side, but that didn't mean he was without recourse. Flattening out his hand, he let the energy erupted out of it in a thrumming blade of ki. He then swept upward in a wide slash, trying to sever her rubbery leg from her torso. As his arm went up, he held it there and tried to reach out and grab her cheeks with his free hand. The blade’s initial lunge upwards should have carved Pleez’s leg clean from her body, but at the last moment the Majin’s animal cunning recognised the distraction for what it had been. Lute was trying to play off her emotions to make her let her guard down! Her entire body shifted in an unnatural fashion; flesh flowing and twisting so that the blade passed through nothing at all. A wide grin split her features, and she snatched upwards, grasping the blade with her hand. The sheer power behind the blow brought her down to one knee, her hand split down the middle, the energy carving deep into her. But where most warriors would consider that to be a battle – and perhaps a life-ending – injury, the Majin merely drew her arm back with a shriek of pain, and flexed it back together with a whip-like crackStill surrounded by that crackling pink lightning, she hissed through her teeth, and steam began to vent from the holes in her head. There was real, genuine hatred burning in the Majin now. She’d felt that, and it hurt. It was true that Pleez, when Lute had known her, had been interested almost exclusively in coin and took things at a lazy pace. She had never really cared about training or sought any goal with any real effort. Even when she was fighting, there was always the consciousness that she was doing this to get paid; the idea of getting killed for someone else was always ludicrous. Right now, though, even in the sporting arena that they inhabited, Pleez was willing to bend everything she had towards the singular task of destroying the man that had dared to hurt her. “YOU. DIE. NOW!”
The three shrieked words cut through the roaring of the crowd like a knife, and Pleez flung both hands forwards in an erratic burst of unfocused pink fire, aiming to sear Lute out of existence with her fury alone. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

The pink flames rushed over Lute. He stood in the middle of them, a dark pillar against all the fuschia illumination. The sand in the arena became a sheet of glass and as he took steps forward, it crunched beneath his boots. He walked through the flames, as they rolled and coursed over his flesh. The heat was unfathomable, his eyes and lips drying and cracking. Still, he it was only one footstep after another. There was no urgency, there was no fear or anger on his face. The Demon King was a force to be reckoned with, and he had a crowd of spectators to witness upon that. It was a statement. Did it hurt? Yes.Did he care? Not really."Your hate isn't enough. It's far too new, far too fledgling."The ki blade was still buzzing from his hand. He pulled it back and tried to ram it savagely through her chest. Sweeping up, he then tried to bifurcate her vertically with it. It was pointless, obviously. Her amorphous body could be chopped to a million pieces and still reform itself. The resistance as the blade passed through Pleez was even less than the Demon King might have been expecting. The weapon passed clean through her flesh – and then, suddenly, the whole figure evaporated into nothingness. Pleez looked down from above at the stubborn man. There was just the slightest hint of fear in her eyes as she stared. She’d expected a lot of reactions to her assault, but the casual walk forwards, as though the attack had done nothing at all? That was not one of the reactions she had anticipated. It was slowly starting to dawn on the Majin that she might not be able to finish the job here after all. “You don’t understand.” Pleez murmured, her voice soft as she ran her hand in front of her, tracing her fingers through the traceries of magic woven through the arena. “It is new to me, but this anger? This is as old as existence. It was born when the first living thing took a breath, and it will only end when the last is gasped.”She slammed her hand down, and pink flame washed from the air around Lute, a last spiteful burst of the magic she had already expended, and then she swirled her arms around her, gathering the power up again. The sphere of condensed magic was brought into being once more. Bigger this time, she lifted her head tail, and folded her arms across her chest. The tendril of goo swished around with the motion of her tendril, and the ball followed it. The highly-compacted energy let out a heady thwoom-thwoom-thwoom as it built momentum, until she took her moment to strike. The sphere shot downwards as though it had been fired from a cannon – a dead-on, obvious strike aiming directly for Lute’s midsection, much like the last use of the ball… … but this time, at the last possible moment, Pleez kicked out, and her leg extended across the full length of the arena, aiming to kick Lute in the side of the head at the exact same moment his guard would, hopefully, be occupied elsewhere! Pleez, despite her savage wrath, was actually rather clever. She used magic in a very unconventional way. The Demon King had once been a nascent member of the Dragon Clan. He had learned magic, understood how to bend it to his will and how to formulate spells. It deviated from wielding raw ki in a myriad of ways. It all came from the same source, but wielding ki normally was ripping off a chunk of your spiritual body and hurling it at someone. Magic was sacrificing it to change something in the environment, typically in a ritual fashion. Pleez did this, but without the ritual. It was all inherent, it seemed and flawless. The flames came back, lashing at him. He grunted, this time unable to focus his aura directly where he needed to mitigate his suffering. A huge blackened patch now covered his neck and chin, the slug-like green flesh charred to a a crisp--splintering and cracking as purple blood oozed from it. Another bludgeoning sphere shot at him. He cocked his fist and punched it. The thing went flying across the arena and drove itself into the roughshod stone wall, chipping and grinding. Lute heard the leg with his keen Namekian ears before he saw it and instinctively ducked. Just on time too. The rubberband like limb looped over him. With her leg extended, she was a bit vulnerable--off balance even. Yet he wouldn't make it to her on time to take advantage of it. She wasn't the only one clever one here. The ki blade on hand was the perfect tool for the job. He flicked his wrist and it detached, flying at her point first where it would embed into gut on impact and shatter like glass. Next, he leaped high, sailing over the battlefield and formed another energy weapon in his grip, this time an elongated amethyst sickle. He over shot his sweeping slash and pulled back, trying to impale her from behind and jerk her down face first into the glassed sand. "This has been a good warm up. The real fight is about to begin."SUMMARY

There was definitely something unusual in the way that Pleez used magic. It was the difference between someone who knew how to lift and throw a stone, and a landslide. The power she was calling on wasn’t coming from her own spirit, not directly; she was tapping directly into the wellspring of magic all around them, the natural flow that mystics had to complete complex rites to unlock. She simply reached out, and magic responded. The malevolent Majin let out a mad cackle at the sight of Lute’s scorched flesh – but it was short-lived. His effortless punch, sending the orb careening off into a wild spiral, had her narrowing her eyes, and it was soon clear that in spite of his injury, Lute wasn’t slowing down in the least. The baying of the crowd treated this as though it were all part of the fun and spectacle. For Pleez, it was infuriating. It felt like the more she hit him, the harder he came to hit her back! She howled in fury, and the reverberating scream filled the arena, drowning out the manic demons and forcing a deep silence to flood in after it had passed. The ear-splitting wail caused the arena’s barrier to shimmer into life in all directions; the light to dim and sparks to spatter in the sudden gloom. There was a physical force to that wail, and she cocked back her fist to follow it up with another punching of her orb- Only, the blade impaled the woman dead on, and as it shattered inside her, the counterattack faltered. Blades of energy cut into her flesh, and the second screech torn out of her was anything but dangerous; it was the noise of an angry, injured animal, ready to lash out at the source of her pain. Her aura blazed to life around her, her Majin frame reknitting itself in response to her outrage. The incredible regenerative properties of her race were springing to life even as the sickle dug into her shoulder and she was wrenched head-over-heels into the floor. This time, she rebounded with it, her arms flung downwards as she sprang upwards, and the energy sphere – still bouncing in a pinball fashion around the interior of the arena – suddenly erupted downwards, coupled with a rising, wild-eyed headbutt. It was ironic. She’d begun the fight chiding him for not talking, but now she was reduced to incoherent, animal screaming as she continued to give her all in the attempt to grind him down. He might just be getting serious, but she’d been giving it everything she had from the very first moment! BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Lute twirled his ki sickle around. Some did such foolish actions as an attempt to showboat their skills. His was for a very good reason, as the ki sphere was on a downward path towards him him. At apex of his twirling motion, the sickle struck it. And, like the pinball it was--the ki sphere went flying in the opposite direction. This time it hit the arcane barrier, which sparked and sputtered against the force of impact. A fat xeno with a tuft of yellow hair on the other side went wide eyed with terror, shirking away. Pleez was making her descent as well. The sickle was above his head so to defend, he simply dropped his elbows down. The headbutt hit them instead of his face, sending out a resounding shockwave across the arena. The Demon King leaped back, putting some distance between them. The dark aura wreathing his form shot out in a buffeting flare, concentric circles of sand and glass shards rolling away from him as it did. He brought his sickle around horizontal, attempting to catch Pleez across the torso with its slash. Yanking hard after the slash, he withdrew it and let it rest against his shoulder--charging in. The opposite end shifted and formed into a shimmering spearhead, which he attempted to ram straight through her stomach and pin her against the inner section of the arena wall. At this point, the crowd were on their toes. The Demon King had said he was done warming up, after all. SUMMARY

Lute’s aura was becoming impossible to ignore. Try as she might to fend it off with violent intent of her own, the Demon King’s presence was undeniably potent. The focus that was required to keep fighting in spite of all this was, perhaps, the most draining part of the fight so far. Moreso than his energy attacks, blades and explosions – the continuous pressure she felt bearing down on her was oppressive. When Lute backed off, though, Pleez took it as a sign of weakness – that she was getting closer to her goal! She lunged towards him in a violent, twisting motion, right into the path of the slashing blades. But where a mundane opponent would have been carved to pieces, Pleez’s body warped and flowed. She swirled through the melee as though she were made of water, only to reform with a snap directly before him. Pink lightning exploded around her once again, and this time, she followed it up with a grab right for Lute’s throat. All she needed was to make contact, squeeze, and then HURL him at the arcane barrier protecting the arena. That had hurt her, earlier – she was certain it would be no more gentle on the Namekian, though she had to rely on all the momentum she could gather just to lift the man from his feet. Whether or not that was successful, though, she’d follow up with a second terrifying roar – this time, when she opened her mouth to issue the scream, pink energy flared behind her teeth, and a blast of potent power surged from deep within her core – the destructive energy unleashed in a wave far more wild and unfocused than the energy beam that Lute had treated her to earlier, but no less serious in its destructive intent! Pleez went for a throat grab and Lute's hand snapped up with the utmost speed and precision. He took her wrist, stopping the action before it ever reached his throat. Grimacing, he had put himself in a precarious position. A glow emitted from inside the majin woman's mouth and erupted into an unkempt wave. He loosed her hand and shot backward on a cushion of his own ki as the wave chased him. His arm touched the wall of the arena and he rolled below the wave as it splashed against it, feeling its heat and pressure--but to no real effect. Rising out of his roll, he shattered his sickle of ki in his grip. the shards stayed solid though as he exerted his will upon them. Using telekinetic force, he levitated them up around him--twinkling and buzzing and then pointed. All of the shards short forward, in a veritable hail storm of slicing and dicing danger--straight at Pleez. If that weren't enough, Lute focused his ki into his fist, forming a ball of crackling amethyst the size of his torso. He lurched forward and fired it. The blast flew like a like a rifle bullet through the air, spinning to give it additional force and penetration power. He needed all he could get, if he wanted to harm the majin woman. SUMMARY

The unfocused blast of power from Pleez’s mouth does not slow as Lute nimbly evaded the worst of it. He ran, and she turned her head to try and follow, disgorging more and more destructive force into the world as she went. Most of the shards were swallowed up by the swirling energy as she twisted her head around to try and catch the erratically-move Namekian, but a few managed to find their way through to draw thin cuts across her torso. That only seemed to infuriate her more, and steam again boiled up from within her, erupting out of the holes in her body with a high-pitched scream of frustration far more eloquent than anything she could have actually said. The second blast, though, she managed to line up the mass of reactive power perfectly. There was a moment where the drilling burst punched through into the shimmering pink power, and then it exploded. The interior of the arena was filled with nothing but shining light and terrifying heat, an enormous blast of power which sent spiderweb cracks through the arcane shield protecting the crowd – but somehow, the barrier just managed to hold against it. In the aftermath, Pleez was visible lowering her arms from the guard she had been forced to raise against the violent reaction of her and her opponent’s conflicting energy sources. Smoke rose off her body, which might just be a slightly darker pink than it had been a moment ago. “JUST DIE ALREADY!”

Pleez was quite literally bleeding raw magic. His blast had hit a cloud of it and exploded violently. Lute was hurled backward. He crashed against the wall of his arena. A large section of it caved in on top of him, burying him him in rock and stone. The arcane wards began to crack above, the entirety of the dome showing. The people in the crowd had fallen quiet. Not only because Lute was buried and Pleez still stood--but because they had seen their pathetic lives flash before their eyes. Those in the front row seats began to scramble backwards up the bleachers. Being that close wasn't as entertaining anymore. Other fled away, not wanting to be around when things got out of hand. Which seemed inevitable, based on how wild Pleez had gotten. The Aetherguard--militant war wizards that were under Lute's employ moved in, their staves at the ready. Their jobs weren't to interfere with the Demon King's fight--rather they were there to ensure containment if things broke loose. The safety of Hollow was tantamount, as their friends and family were down there. Lute pushed the slabs of stone off of him and clamored back to his feet, dusting off his laden pants. He rolled his neck, cracking it a few times for good measure. "You're reckless," he stated. "More of an animal than a warrior now. Let's see you hone those new instincts!"Bending at the knees, he kicked off and glided across the arena on a cushion of ki--accelerating into a blur. Arriving at Pleez, he swung his foot around and tried to shove his heel straight into her midsection with all the force he could muster. Planting his feet in the sand, he brought both hands together, fingers splayed wide. Bright amethyst ki surged down the length of his forearms and collected in his palms, erupting outward in a massive blast. All of its force was directly on top of her, all at once. If the wards didn't break before, they were bound to now. SUMMARY

Pleez was practically doubled over in the aftermath of her expulsion of energy. The power she’d put out was far beyond anything she would have thought herself capable of before, but she was not without her limits. Whilst she was still in good health, she was definitely starting to feel tired, and Lute didn’t seem to be slowing down at all. It was infuriating. The most she threw at him, the more he came at her, over and over again. The Majin growled low in the back of her throat at the critique. “I didn’t ask you!” She spat, angrily. “Stop treating this like a game! I WILL kill you!”She blurred out of existence again as the foot came in towards her, and she wound up on the far side of Lute. He had to wheel around to unleash the energy at her, and by the time he had done, she she raised hers to block the incoming damage. A second flare of power as his struck the focused power of her aura, blunting the impact. She was struck, hard, and bounced against the floor, but when she rose up again, there was still, infuriatingly, little sign that the Majin was slowing down at all. Raw instinct and unrefined animal fury might be the only style she had left, but it was a style she was making work for her very well indeed. Up close and personal, Pleez’s power lashed around her in wild arcs, unfocused bursts of electric energy simply erupting out of her to stab and crackle across the floor, tearing up the chairs of the fleeing front row, and – maybe, just maybe – catching Lute in their whirling wrath. At the same time, she lunged upwards with a potent uppercut, her arm extending upwards with a surprising amount of momentum behind it. Her knuckles were soft, being punched by a Majin was a lot like being punched by a lump of dough… but there was enough just raw force in the impact to cause some damage, even if it was less effective than it would be coming from a species that had the luxury of bones. Pleeze unleashed bolts of lightning. They splashed against Lute's aura, snapping and surging--but unable to make purchase. He floated there, a grim look on his face. Despite all his advantages--Pleez's natural ability to soak damage had started to be taxing for the Demon King. If things went on--and he wasn't able to put the nail in the coffin--he had little doubt that she wouldn't be able to tire him out. The uppercut came came and Lute caught it on his chin, his head snapping up. Luckily, the wall of power between his flesh and her fist managed to slow it to a negligible. Droplets of sweat matting his brow, he flew straight up, until his back was against the buzzing shield. It was starting to flake and dissolve at this point. The shield had been designed and erected to protect the crowd, but the two fighters inside had enough raw power to destroy entire planets. There wasn't much any magic spell could do against that, no matter how strong the caster happened to be. Lute grabbed at the air and as he did, drew out tons of power from his core. It buzzed to life in his fists, shimmering bright. With a roar he unleashed a machine-gun rain of ki blasts. "Rah!"One after another, they cascaded down at Pleez. They would explode on her and all around her, trapping her in a veritable wall of destruction. If she wasn't careful, it would clearly be her demise. Or so the Demon King hoped. SUMMARY

Pleez’s fury was undiminished as the Demon King gathered his power above her. She could feel the strength he was pouring into the attack, and it just made her all the more determined to obliterate him. The woman arched her back, pink lightning erupting around her in a brilliant cascade of unfocused, unrepentant destructive power. It was a good thing that the front row had the sense to evacuate; as the wards flickered and failed, Pleez’s furious howl obliterated those seats closest to the action, electric power scything through the stands with wild abandon. When the blasts rained down about her, she threw her hands into the air, fists raised in righteous indignation, and her aura exploded out of her to meet the blasts. Some were blunted, some misdirected, but the limits of her power were far greater than the limits of the Demon King’s own force. The explosions destroyed what little semblance of an arena still remained, and within the core of it, for several terrifying seconds, Pleez’s energy burned – a pink sun surrounded by the corona of Lute’s blinding yellow power. When the smoke and debris finally cleared, the Majin was kneeling in a deep crater, her pink form scorched and dirtied. She glared balefully up towards Lute, and then she spat, and – failing to raise – huffed, falling into a cross-legged sitting position, and pouting with her arms folded across her chest. “This isn’t fun any more.” She declared, petulantly. “You don’t have to get so rough! We’re only playing around for sport!”
A lie, and they both knew it. She hadn’t been playing around, not for a second. It was doubtful she even knew how to… but she clearly didn’t want to keep fighting any more; she was tired, and whilst her body could take a lot more punishment in theory, in practice, she didn’t see the point. She couldn’t beat Lute. Not yet. Lute(Falling out of combat as this is the 10th post each by my reckoning - Pleez uses Deflect to negate some of the damage and bla bla bla at this point she's out of tricks and all you'd have to do to beat her is keep Condensing attacks sooo victory to the Demon King!)
