Space Vegas. A breeding hole for gamblers, addicts, gangsters, murderers and much, much more. Some came for the casinos, in some vain attempt to win it big and leave with millions. Some came for entertainment, for the giant casinos on the planet offered many places...and many avenues with which one could pleasure themselves. Club Starlight was such a place. Located in the Dark District, a criminal laden district hidden from the public eye, in which poverty stricken citizens and the scum of the galaxy gathered, Club Starlight represented an opportunity. An opportunity for immense wealth and riches. All you had to do was work for it.
For Club Starlight was a fight club.
Caged arenas, booze, dim lighting and blood. All for the promise of ten million Zeni as a grand prize. It was hard to resist the temptation of entry.
It was a perfect past-time. So much had changed since his first bout here. A desperate pirate searching for money. This was also where he had fought that rather peculiar magical being....Raijin. A combatant that utilized storm clouds throughout the battle, as well as magic on top of that. Even though Kamui had managed to easily snatch victory from the hands of his opponent by proving himself much more than the man was capable of handling, he had learned early on that underestimating his foe in these types of tournaments was an error not to be repeated, for it could easily lead to his own defeat...just as was the case with Vile, the horrifically strong Heran had proven more than the young Changeling had bargained for, resulting in an all out battle in the wastelands of The Badlands, which served as a rather humbling experience for the overconfident Frost Demon. That, along with the memory of the first meeting of his now boss, Emperor Carambolis, had served to show Kamui that there were beings out there with power well beyond his current state, that in the grand scheme of things he was but a small rock amongst pebbles, part of a much grander mountains, trying to compete with boulders. A harsh lesson to learn, especially the way he did, but instead of crumble, the Frost Demon boy had decided to persevere. Taking a position within Crusher Corps, Kamui had decided it best to frequent the fight clubs of Space Vegas more and more often, not out of any monetary need, although that was a nice secondary objective, but more to discover more strong fighters.
Kamui wished to grow as a combatant, and as such wanted to test his abilities against those with power larger than his. How else could he grow? So far, he had been disappointed by the fighter turnout. The strongest fighter so far possessed a power level of about seven thousand, and could essentially be described as a classic brute. Big muscle, but slow as hell, in both the physical and mental plane. It would take Kamui about a second or two to cause him to fall. But the first round of the tournament wasn't over yet.
And it was Kamui's turn for a bout.
"Numbers forty two and thirty seven! Please step up to the arena!" The announcer called.
Rising from his seat, Kamui began to make his way down the long corridor to the large caged arena.
It was time to meet his opponent.
