The fields of the western training grounds were quiet at this time. Most of Earth's military had trained here at one point or another, on these expansive fields just a few miles away from West City, Joshua included. And it was between major training periods that the soldier liked to come here, to train himself in the quiet. It was much more advanced than any of his facilities on Venus, and due to his position he had access to all areas of the grounds allowing him to train all of his weaknesses. Since his last few fights hadn't exactly gone as planned and the human was out of practice he decided spending some time on the training grounds to gain control of his energy was a good idea. Though it wasn't public knowledge anyone was using this ground, a warning had been issued that heading in this direction was a bad idea for most travelers, and diversions had been made for most road routes. The only thing Josh was concerned about was other ki users. To them it would be obvious that this wasn't any sort of training exercise or weapons test. He'd been pummeled enough times to know how strong some people were. He had to be ready for an encounter here too, even if this was just training. Josh shifted uncomfortably under his armour. Well these are the coordinates Will was given by the king of Earth himself. The king stressed that since the Earth military needed some more power especially cause of the recent incident in Central City and a failed capture of the former Neo Red Ribbon scientist Dr. Nikolas Grey. He needed more men trained to face strong fighters and be able to use Ki themselves. He asked Will to go this training facility to help train one of them to be able to use Ki and how to more to fight Ki wielders. A high ranking member of their military named Joshua. Will feels like he heard that name before. He lands into the training facility in front of an armored man. His Ki does feel familiar but it's been so long since they last met that Will is having trouble remembering exactly when and where they met but he does believe they fought together at least one or more times. Although he wasn't wearing armor back then from what he remembered. "Oh hello there, Joshua right? I was sent here by the king to help strengthen the Earth's military. He told me to help teach you how to use Ki and how to fight against other Ki users so that you can also pass along this knowledge to our soldiers. With the many threats piling up the Earth's military needs to be strengthened especially with an intergalactic war going on. I am Will O. Wisp, a Turtle School student." "Turtle school huh? Yeah I know you guys, it's a good thing Earth has such powerful martial arts schools with the state then military is in at the moment. If the galactic empire rolled up we'd be relying on you guys to help us." The soldier studied the figure in front of him. Though he struggled to get an exact read on his opponent, he could feel that he was quite a bit more powerful than Josh. Although then again Joshua was used to being outmatched in fights. You'd think with the amount of times he'd been pummeled he'd be invincible by now, but he instead found himself repeatedly being taken down by far stronger opponents. "If you're here to help me get better, then we'd best get started!" He shouted to Will. With that the human gathered his ki in a protective shell around his body, the white energy swirling over him as his aura flared to his maximum base power. The light from his energy reflected off the plates in his armour as he continued to ready himself for the fight. Once his shield was in place he let his energy burst forth, his white aura turning a crimson red as his power skyrocketed to match his opponent's. The shield around his body formed into clearer constructs over his hands and chest, as enormous Phoenix wings spread from his back. He was ready to fight. "Give me everything you've got!"

"Oh? I see, so are able to use Ki. When King Ches mentioned you needed Ki Training I thought he meant teach you to be able to use it, but it seems you know how it works. But let's check to see what if you know the three components of Ki. Genki or Vigor, Yuki or Courage, and Shoki or Mind. Each one is an important part of Ki and it helps to train in these three areas. Also a common misconception is that only powerful people are able to use Ki. That is untrue as Ki is something that is found in all living beings but a lot of martial artists or people born with great power have managed to learn how to wield the energy they possess. While it is unknown how aliens managed to figure this out Earthlings have figured it out through Martial Arts. And while many aliens have been flying before we were we did invent the ability to suppress our powers to hide our prescience and how to sense the Ki of others without using a scouter or device. Speaking of sensing Ki." Will said. He then flared up his dark blue aura around him that shone like a sapphire. "You can see the aura around me, but can you sense it? Sensing one's Ki is not just used to help tell how strong an opponent is. It can also be used to tell whether the person you fighting is good or has evil within their hearts. It also could you help you sense when a person is wanting to attack you through subtle hits and changes in one's Ki. For instance, now let's test to see if you sense it." Will said. The blue ki flared around his opponent as he spoke. Josh could feel the power coming off of him, he could feel that his own power was roughly on part with that of Will at this moment in time. "Yeah I can sense it. It helps your power levels so high, but when I've raised my own like this my ki use is a bit more fine tuned. I'd probably find it harder to sense your movements and attacks if I was just using my base strength." The human gathered himself in preparation for the incoming attacks. He'd dealt with martial artists before, and he always found his sword skills to not be quite up to the same level his enemy's attacks were. He felt the strike find its mark on his stomach, but luckily his shield helped prevent most of the damage from hitting him directly. He skidded back from Will, reeling from the impact of the blow, before drawing his sword from his back and lighting it with ki from his body. His ruby aura flared as his power was poured into his blade, preparing for a series of powerful strikes. He moved in with a barrage of blows aimed at every part of Will's body, before following it with a powerful spin kick aimed at his side. He needed to start getting an edge over his opponent, before his own power began to give out and the advantage was tipped heavily in Will's favour.

So he can sense Ki at least. But apparently only when he's powered up. Something they needed to work on for sure. Even with that devastating punch Will landed it wasn't enough to pierce his defenses. Then it was his turn to strike. Will watched as Josh poured energy into his blade and came in to swipe at Will with it. An interesting fighting style to be sure and the added use of a sword increases the range of an attack, but it also makes one's strikes much more lethal of course. Of course since a lot of Ki users can create ranged attacks by ejecting some of their Ki as attacks a sword is not that much useful in Ki based combat. Dodging the sword swipes was easy for Will and even came with a few close calls where he barely dodged them by the skin of his teeth. But then Joshua started to do something he wasn't expecting. He stopped swiping with his sword and aimed to kick Will with a spin kick maneuver. However in the blink of an eye Will was gone. Will was then far behind Joshua in the air. "Hey! Just gonna give you a heads up now but show me how you can handle fighting against someone whose a ranged fighter." Will yelled at Josh. Of course simple Ki Blasts wouldn't cut it for this exercise. With his psychic powers Will managed to telekinetically picked up a bunch of training equipment whirling around him like a storm. Ranged fighting was always an issue for Josh. He had to get close to be able to fight effectively, otherwise he had no real way to hold his own. That was the main disadvantage of his inability with ki. His sword was the only real weapon he had, and while he could infuse energy in a similar way into his fists and feet it wasn't the same as being able to fire powerful blasts of energy. Still, it wasn't the end of the world as long as he could move in close. As Will sent the different pieces of training equipment towards him Josh moved fast, dodging most of it and cutting through the rest with his blade. Unfortunately he missed some of it and he felt a heavy impact on his back, knocking him out of the air mid dodge. "Man that was fast, you sure are strong." He grinned, climbing back to his feet. The Constructs had helped protect him from some of the damage but he had to make sure his attacks were just as strong. Once again he charged his energy in his sword and attacked, moving quickly through the air around the remaining bits psychically moved debris. He dodged from one piece to another before launching himself straight towards Will, swiping with two heavy attacks aimed directly at his opponent's chest.

It seems one of the barbells managed to get a hit on Joshua. But his defenses managed to absorb a lot of the damage so he didn't seem to suffer any actual damage. Will then put all of the training equipment back where they are supposed to be. Although some were damaged by Joshua who sliced some up with his sword and he hoped that the military had insurance or something for this kind of thing. The fact that he seems to be a novice when it came to Ki use was apparently. Especially considering how he could only use it in melee and defensive techniques for combat. Something he needs to work on. Joshua came at Will again but just as before Will dodged all of his attacks with quick speed and reflexes. "I see using Ki Blasts are the first thing we need to work on. If you keep focusing or relying on melee you could end up getting in trouble. Creating Ki Blasts require you to focus your Ki into your hands and releasing them in a short burst by discharging them. It requires concentrations and focus to shoot them out of your hands. I am gonna fire two Energy Blasts towards you. But you need to counter by making your own. No dodging or blocking!" Will said. This was not going to end well. Will wanted him to use Ki blasts, so he may as well give it a shot. It'd been a while since he'd actually tried it so why not. He gathered his energy and attempted to form an energy blast in his right hand to respond to Will's ki blasts. But as they moved in close he couldn't successfully gather the energy outside of his body to respond. Instead it backfired, allowing him to get hit with the first oncoming ki blast. Josh responded to the second by dodging, contrary to will's request. "Sorry, I don't think ki blasts are happening. Not anytime soon anyway." As the second blast exploded against the ground Josh used the opening created by the firing of those original balls of energy to charge Will once again. The guy was fast but if Josh got lucky he could land a good hit that would give him the edge in this fight. Though his power up faded he continued his assault, striking with two heavy hits at each of Will's shoulders in two wide swipes and using the last of his constructs to throw more power into his attacks than normal. He dived back after his assault and reviewed the situation. Things weren't really looking good right now.

Will was quite disappointed in him that he has so much disbelief in himself that he was unable to make a Ki blast. Will remembered when he was more unsure and cowardly and of low self esteem but he has grown past that. He has conquered his fears and kept his pride in check as to be sure he ego would never be bruised. Seems Joshua had a lot of failures as well to be able to have developed this way of thinking. But he should not be focusing on the fact that he lost but more so why. Will dodged each and everyone of his attacks once more and then reached out his wooden staff preparing to strike with it. "I sense a lot of unease. Like me you too must've had many failures. But it's best to learn from those failures and think on why you lost. That's the key to self improvement. A lost battle is just another lesson to teach you. Now then I'll focus on melee and you try to counter with your own Ki Blasts! Another thing you need to know for preparing a Ki Blast is extending your Ki from your hand and letting it go so to speak. Just focus the energy into your hand and power it up in the hand in a short quick burst and release. Think of it like firing a gun or a shotgun. Now prepare yourself!" Will said. He could tell this was gonna take a while, his attacks kept missing. But Josh could also tell that some of his attacks were fast enough to force Will to expend energy escaping them. If he could keep the pressure up then eventually Will wouldn't be able to keep dodging. He had to play to his strengths and find a way to turn the tables. As Will spoke Josh cocked his head. It wasn't anything to do with his personality or his way of thinking. Ki blasts just weren't part of his arsenal. There were a lot of ki related things he wasn't great at, some of which (like energy attacks that left his body) were pretty much impossible. But he'd learned from his inability, which is where his infusion techniques had come into play. "Sorry, but not matter how hard you try you aren't gonna force a ki blast out of me. Doesn't matter how hard I get pushed, that's just something that won't happen." As Will charged with his staff Josh responded in kind with his sword, deflecting about half of the blows but eventually getting overwhelmed and being struck multiple times. His armour shielded him from most of the damage but Josh could still feel it sting. He responded in kind, once again letting his energy explode in a furious manner as he returned to his max power state. This technique was one of the few things that kept him in fights. Now he was on a more even playing thing he moved at rapid speeds behind Will, launching a powerful ki infused strike straight towards his back and following it with a slash towards his shoulder. Will was a big boy so he could surely handle it.

Will didn't understand why Joshua kept telling him he can't be able to do Ki Blasts. Will never heard of someone with a Ki handicap before. He keeps believing that what Joshua have is something mental and something that could be over come. Was it cause of something tragic that happened to him in his past or some other reason? In his distraction Will was then stabbed but his thickened skin absorbed the blow. He was then slashed several times but his skin wasn't penetrated until the last slash which left a nasty mark. However then noticed the burning pain given off from the wound because of the Ki infused blade that struck him. After looking at his burn wound he then turns his head towards Joshua with a fiery look in his eyes and energy rising with him. "Don't tell me that is something you can't do! Training in the ways of Ki allows us to break our limits and become more powerful then we once were. We managed to learn how to fly, fire blasts of energy that could potentially destroy worlds, and that's not even scratching the surface. Don't tell me what you can't do because I once couldn't do a lot of things. I got to where I am now through many hardships. I survived many encounters where I nearly died. Many times I questioned whether or not I was good enough, that I could continue the Turtle School legacy or even deserved this Gi. I am no master yet but I am inching closer and closer to my goals. And I am telling you not give up just because you say you can't." Will said. He then rushed forward to Joshua flying at him in great speed. "Limits are meant to be broken! BREAK THROUGH THEM AND GO! EVEN! FURTHER! BEYOND!" Will yelled out at him. While Will was yelling this he was charging up and preparing a very powerful punch to strike Joshua with. Joshua BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Will was probably right. Josh was sure it was physically possible for him to use ki blasts. His recent training had been a lot more intense than previously and he'd felt himself reaching new heights. But he wasn't there yet. He had a long way to go before he was the great warrior he wanted to be. Will was forcing him to use everything he had, which was exactly what he needed to push himself right now. He couldn't continue living in the dark like he had for so long. It was time to stop treating himself like any other warrior and start training to become the defender of Earth he needed to be. Will's punch found its mark, but not the damage was not too great. "You wanna see me break my limits?" He gathered all his powered up energy for one more assault at Will. This would make or break this fight. It was unlikely Josh would be able to continue for much longer, so this had to be his moment. "I'll hit you with everything I've got!" All of his crimson red energy gathered for this final barrage of powerful ki blasts. They were stronger than his typical attacks, even in this heightened state. The Maser Vibration technique allowed him to vibrate his sword at speeds close to the speed sound oscillated at, allowing for increased damage on every single strike. His power faded on his final strike, but he could tell the strikes were powerful and would do a lot of damage if they landed.

Will felt great power emanated from Joshua's sword, but it was too. He would've been able to use a Kiai to force Joshua back and cancel out the attack but alas he moved too quickly that Will was unable to do so or even be able to guard on time. He couldn't but feel proud of him even as he was being slashed at repeatedly with a sword vibrating at the speed of sound. As Joshua was about to continue his onslaught a reptilian looking arm appeared out of nowhere grabbing the sword. A voice then emanated from nowhere. "I am afraid I am gonna have to stop you right there pal, I am his spirit guardian which means I gotta protect him from being killed. And I am afraid what you're doing is considered lethal so, nothing personal kid." the voice said. Then the rest of the body the arm belongs to shows itself as a humanoid dragon looking similar to that of the legendary Shenron. He then uses his free hand to punch Joshua in the face and as he lets go of the sword continues with punching with his other hand and unleashes an onslaught of punches onto Joshua. Yelling the words "Ryu" over and over with each punch. However he is then stopped as Will put his hands onto his shoulder. And then Dragon Soul stopped and disappeared. "Sorry about that, he sometimes acts on himself. I am the one teaching you after all. But another thing you need to know is that some people have a favorite spot they like to hit. Whether it be a pressure point or where a vital organ is to either knock out or kill someone everyone has a spot they prefer to aim for. Especially in between the legs he he he. But seriously don't do that that's just a dick move...no pun intended. The key is not just predicting where your opinion would strike and guarding that spot but also to where you will opponent will strike next after studying his fighting pattern. Now then, let us begin." Will said. He then gets out his staff and after spinning it a bit he prepares a fighting stance and holds off for a bit before going in for a strike at Joshua's left flank. That was interesting. Josh had been moving in with all his powered up strength when a lizard arm had stopped him. He'd seen some pretty crazy stuff in the past, but that was just kinda weird. In fact Josh wasn't sure he'd ever seen a flying lizard come out of nowhere to protect someone. It wasn't out of the question but he'd definitely have to get used to that. As Will moved in with a follow up strike Josh quickly called the sword back to him. As the blade was just a solidified version of his energy it happily returned to his hands. When the staff came in Josh hesitated, allowing it to briefly make contact with his armour before parrying with his own powerful ki infused punch. There was no time to see if his ploy had worked as the human span behind Will and launched a thrust with his still burning sword towards Will's center of mass. His power was quickly fading, and it was unlikely he'd be able to return to his powered up state after this. Though he did have the energy his fighting instincts were dulled with every bit of damage he took and that last strike from the dragon spirit thingy had knocked him flat. If he was lucky his attacks would work, allowing him to at least carry on in this fight a little while longer even if he couldn't match Will.

It was then that Will saw visions of the Ki punch hitting Will and causing major damage and internal bleeding. He then sped of his reflexes dodging the punch and then dodged the sword thrust as well. That was certainly close. But Will has been using a lot of energy in this battle. He needs to be more careful or he could end up being knocked down before he has the chance to teach him more. Now would be a good time to teach Joshua about defense. "The best offense is a good defense a lot of people say. Fitting for someone who knows the Turtle way to know a lot of defensive moves since the turtle is well known for it's hard protective shell. Usually people don't always use defensive techniques more then once cause people would already be expecting them and would adapt to that and find a way around those defenses. That's why you don't see people shouting Kiai's all the time. Plus they cost a lot of energy to use, but I on the other hand managed to learn how to trick the opponent and bring out whatever defensive move I need at that moment whenever I want with the talent I have gained. Now, show me your defensive moves. Show me how you would react to someone who attacks you and give me something you haven't used yet!" Will said. Will then came at Joshua again preparing to strike him with the staff more. The first swing will go to the right leg and the next swing to the left arm. Joshua BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Will was really overestimating him here. Josh was all for fighting at full strength but he didn't have infinite defensive abilities. Josh had always focused on his speed and strength over his actual ki abilities as that was one of his stronger areas, and so he didn't really have anything up his sleeve for this. Instead he used his training to focus on speed and moved quickly out of the way of Will's first strike. Although the second did find its mark Josh had avoided most of the damage and felt his body excite under the intense pressure he was put under. Plus his higher power had faded now, leaving him in his 'hangover' state, with only about half his maximum power. "Now I'm no expert swordsman or anything, but personally my preferred offense is a good offense." The Earthlings energy gathered again as he moved in for another devastating attack. His sword vibrated with the same energy as before as all the energy he could muster was poured into his weapon. "Allow me to demonstrate." With his energy as low as it was Josh figured it might be difficult to land any more blows on Will. At least with this amount of energy if he got close it was unlikely for the other Earthling to be able to defend. Unless that weird lizard guy popped up again. That guy was weird. He moved in with his powerful assault once again, using the only major weapon left in his arsenal.

It costed Will a lot more energy to be able to dodge most of the sword strikes during Joshua's assault. But even then a bunch of slashes managed to cut through his defenses literally and giving him several painful gashes. After Joshua's assault ended Will got out a Sensu Bean and used it to heal himself. He certainly needed it to be able to give him the energy to continue this fight. Will then decided it was time to take off the kid gloves. "Now it's time to give you the ultimate test of your skills. So far I have only been using basic attacks to help teach you and learn many things. Also cause I didn't wanna cause any damage to this training facility cause I am worried I would get billed on any damages to the place so I decided to hold off on doing anything like the Kamehameha. But now I am gonna be using one of my most powerful techniques. Now prepare yourself." Will said. His eyes glowed blue and his hands began to be surrounded by blue flames. He then let out a bunch of multiple blue flames that begin to surround Joshua. With a snap Will commands them to all converge to where Joshua is. Joshua BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY
