Z-station - Earth's OrbitNetto was looking at a computer screen researching other planets. " Hera, planet of islands. Homeland of the legendary Bojack, currently peaceful" Netto rubbed his chin thinking. Recently Netto has been planning to explore the stars, to learn and train with denizens of other planets like he had with the Yardrat's years ago. " If a legendary space pirate came from here I wonder if they got any fighting tournaments or anything." Netto continued to research " so apparently the different islands have clans and they fight often in large fighting clubs, rumor has it some even allow outsiders for more entertainment" Netto liked that idea who knows what strong fighters he could meet there. Netto downloaded the coordinates and jumped on his ship and took off for the planet Hera West Quadrant - HeraAfter a few weeks flying at hyper speed Netto eventually reached Hera and signaled for a landing spot. Eventaully he was given clearance to land at one of the larger islands which was a peace zone and where visitors could come and go. Netto started walking around a nearby larger city using his scouter's translation gear to figure out where to go. Netto started asking around for a local fight club and he got a few cold shoulder and a few tried to lead him down an alley to rob him, which earned them a boot to the face, eventually he found the right person. " hmm, fight club? sorry man I guess you got the wrong info we don't really do those anymore" then he got closer " or at least not openly, if you catch my drift" Netto shook his yes " ill take you to one but its not free" Netto handed him a bag of zeni " follow me." FIGHTING PIT OF VALUNDI, HeraOne by one, they fell like chaff to in the wind. That's not to say that Herans weren't a strong bunch. Relatively speaking, they were. It just so happened to be that Lute was far stronger, dozens of times over. One Heran in a black bandana charged him swinging a huge morning star. Lute caught the haft of the weapon and kicked the warrior in the chest. The blow sent him flying across pit of gravel that served as the fighting arena and splashing into the glittering sapphire waves of the lagoon beyond it. The arena was horseshoe shaped, with an opening to the sea in the middle. It sat on one of the many islands atolls that dotted the oceanic world. A veritable paradise. Ships, both waterclad and space-faring were parked in the shallow waters surrounding it. This was a gathering, a celebration of might. The onlookers in the stands roared in appreciation of such a swift victory. Cups and bottles of booze were raised high. Lute's dark aura bleed out of his pores like black smoke. Anyone sensing it would feel the depth of Lute's malice and hatred. Even in such a beautiful place, he marred it with his corruption. "Who else dares challenge me?" the Namekian called out. Tentative faces and furtive glances. The crowd fell silent, as his aura crushed down upon them and their spirits. The Herans were bold, but their resolve was breaking. Lute hadn't even been challenged thus far. Many had been sent packing with grievous injuries. "Are there none of you strong enough? Psh. A pitiful lot, after all. Netto jumped on the guys little sailboat as it started to pick up wind. " The battle club is on the beach of a nearby island owned by a tribe of warrior's, they say they don't allow outsiders but in truth if you got a strong enough energy level they'll let anyone in." He then puffed up his chest and said in a fake macho voice " Why give up a good moment to train with someone stronger just cause they aren't from the planet." He then exhaled " That's what the chief of the island says." After a little while they reach the beach and see the grand scene of a whole bunch of Herans on the ground all either unconscious or barely alive, in what looked like the arena was a Namekian surrounded by a dark aura. Netto's brow furthered that was demonic energy, there's no mistaking it, Netto then jumped from the boat and landed in the arena. "Your aura is that of a demon, but your clearly a Namekian, who are you?" Netto then surged his aura creating a thin barrier around his body to absorb kinetic energy a technique he's been mastering and now was able to put to good use. Lute DEFENSIVE PHASE Incoming Attacks:

The Herans clearly had enough, but another stepped into the ring. Lute concentrated a moment on his aura and a fanged grin spread across his cheek. This guy, unlike the rest of the rabble, was no joke. As he continued to size the guy up, he realized that it wasn't another Heran he was looking at--rather a human. Or so it seemed. So many of the simian species seemed the similar. It didn't matter. Lute was just glad there was about to be a real fight. "I am Lute of the Demon Clan. And indeed warrior, you have a keen sense. Demonic energy, eh?" Lute said and burst into a bout of laughter. "Would you care to see real demonic energy? I will demonstrate."The insipid aura that surrounded him, rising in dark streaks erupted into a blazing flame its amethyst color shining in vibrant waves. Sparks of black and crimson flashed around his finger tips. Lute's time in the Demon Realm meant he was able to absorb some of the dark power there. Now he would brandish it. And he started by opening his mouth and loosing a brilliant purple beam from the depth of his gullet at the challenger. As it sizzled out, Lute flew up and shot down like a comet behind it. Upon his foe, he whipped both arms above his head and tried to hammer down atop the foe's head with both fists cupped in unison. He let himself fall and as soon as the balls of his feet touched the ground sprang back up all the force he could muster. Netto heard the name Lute and was taken back a little " where have I heard that name before" then it hit him " oh right it was who k..." he wasn't able to finish this thought as he was forced to sidestep a beam of energy coming from the Namekian's mouth. Netto looked back at him to say something but he wasn't there, Netto's sense picked him up last second as ducked to barely dodge the overhead slam. He then saw a knee going straight for his face and quickly leaned back using the moment to both dodge the knee and counter with a kick of his own as he flips back onto his hands, he then uses the momentum of his backflip to fly forward with his own knee strike once his feet touched the ground. Now that he was in close to the evil namekian he opened his mouth and began attempting to absorbing his aura after which netto jumped back and said "Well Lute of the Demon Clan, my name is Netto White the Demon Hunter. Also you wouldn't happen know a demon named Kuueru? I had a small battle with her back on earth but she fled saying someone named Lute was gonna be angry with her fighting." Netto leaned and went in for a kick. Lute twisted his torso around, his palm reaching out to stop the blow dead in the air. The flip away gave him a moment to resume his fighting stance, but the knee was faster than the kick, striking him in the chest. Not that he did much. It didn't even move him, his sinister aura absorbing most of the impact. "If you met Kuueru and lived, you must be quite skilled--Demon Hunter."Lute muttered dark words as he wove a demonic spell, a curse to be exact. Netto wouldn't feel or see anything--at least not yet. The Namekian then launched himself like a missile at the Demon Hunter, head first. After arriving at his mark, he would push off the gravel clad floor of the fighting pit and whip his foot up in a half-moon kicked aimed at the chin. He then used his ki to slide back, all the while firing dozens of ki blasts out of his finger tips. Like bullets from a machine gun, they were concentrated on Netto, but those that missed hit everything behind him and around him. Unfortunately for the Heran spectators, that included them. Half of the fighting arena exploded into a massive conflagration--wracking up a body count. Those spectators in that section that lived fled to their ships in horror. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto was surprised by the Namekian's speed but was able to weaken if not fully nullify each attack that came at him with his kinetic absorption shield. The headbutt and the kick to the chin were unfortunately cloaked in ki that actually cut through his shield and burned him. This was unexpected and through him off balance enough he couldn't dodge the ki barrage that followed further burning and harming him as his shield wasn't designed to block ki. Netto took a few deep breaths to recenter himself "not bad I wasn't expecting your ki to burn me through my barrier that something I need to look out for." He then smirked "alright you did alright with that last assault lets see how you fair this time" Netto dropped his glasses and threw a small ki ball at Lute that exploded in a bright light hopefully blinding the Namekian. Netto then rushed him this time with his own dark ki surrounding his hands and feet. Netto got in close and tried to sweep kick Lute's legs out from underneath him then using the momentum of the leg sweep spun around on his hands and tried to slam his foot down on Lute's chest. After which Netto jumped back and readied himself for any counter attacks as well as drawing energy into him to use for his next attack. Light. Wretched light.Lute's eyes were scalded by the flash and instinctively he covered them, but it was too late. He hissed through his teeth against the pain. But, he couldn't let the lack of vision make him vulnerable. It was too late for that too. Netto's leg sweep sent him sprawling into the gravel. The stomp collided dead with his chest, but he tightened his abdominal muscles at the last second to absorb most of the blow. It still hurt, regardless. Lute felt Netto's presence disappear away and used them moment to kick his legs forward and get back to his feet. He still couldn't see shit. Not while being blinded. More dark words slithered from his lips. The ground around Netto shifted, gravel clumping together and shifting in hue to akin to coagulated blood. These dark fragments would then fly at him from all directions and embed themselves into his flesh. Unfortunately, for the Demon Hunter, the insidious spell sought out the various chakra points in his body and would restrict the flow of ki. Lute didn't think he could attack with precision, not until his sight recovered. So, he didn't rely on it. He put both hands together in front of him, his dark aura collecting into a cracklings sphere in the center of his grip. He brought it above his head and it swelled until it was at least twice the size of his body. Jumping into the sky, Lute hurled it down. It wasn't really aimed at Netto, rather the arena. There with would explode with massive consequence. The stands and everything would be gone in a nuclear flash. Any Herans not lucky enough to get out of the way were reduced to cinders. Lute then pumped his arms, flinging a dozen or so smaller ki blasts into the growing dome of devastation. Sucking back breath, Lute finished his bombardment with a massive concussive kiai blast shot out of his mouth. The flames and devastation would be wiped away in in an instant, only to be replaced by kinetic force shattering the tiny island. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto grimaced as the dark earth pierced his skin, they don't seem too deep Netto could easily remove them but he had no time as Lute launched a massive ki blast. Netto flew upwards toward the Namekian and the ki blast creating a sword with his energy which cause the dark pieces to dig into him. Netto grimaced but he had to keep pushing forward using the created sword to slice up the ki blast causing it to explode in the air. Netto used his barrier to protect him from the damage and kept flying toward Lute who was now flinging ki blasts in random direction before opening his mouth and launching a high powered beam out of his mouth which clipped Netto in the arm and hit the island below. Netto looked back and saw the island was now nothing but a crater, he looked back at Lute with rage in his eyes and screamed "how dare you kill innocent people!" Netto then rushed Lute with the sword and sliced at him with it and followed it with a smash with a pommel before going for a final large stab for his weak spot. " 3rd's swashbuckler finesse." Netto then tried to once against devour Lute's energy. "Kill innocent people? Do you really think those pirates and raiders are innocent? You're more foolish that I imagined."The sword blade collided with Lute's chest, its edge lacking the cutting power to make purchase. The pommel strike smashed him in the lower abdomen, doubling him over and sending him flying back. Gritting his teeth, he managed to catch himself with a burst of ki, his aura flaring up bright and purple for a brief second. Only to have the stab deliver a true blow. It's sharp point slipped straight into Lute's abdomen and out the other side, slick with blood. A wicked grin crossed the Demon Clansmen's face as Netto drank from his insipid aura. No doubt the sensation of pure malice surging into him would disrupt the flow of ki. From Lute's lips escaped dark words. He cupped the sword's blade and peeled himself off of it with a single motion. The gaping wound closed up, regenerating in a instant due to the ominous power he channeled. The curse he had placed upon the Demon Hunter earlier went into effect in full. Lute's ki being torn from him only made the sudden malady worse. Netto would be greeted by crimson lightning rolling over his body and a spike of untold suffering. It would wrack him from the inside out. Lute had been under such a curse once, making his innards feel as though they were boiling out of the flesh. It's where he got the idea. The Namekian used the opportunity to launch a counter offensive. Cocking his fist, he charged forward and tried to cuff Netto across the chin. His right leg shot up in a deft snap kick aimed at gut and then finished with a spinning roundhouse with the left. Fleeing higher into the air, Lute then called more dark fragments from the ruined island below, collecting and clumping together before they lanced away. Each one would try to pierce one of Netto's chakras, homing in from all sides--nearly impossible to escape. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto was in anguish as absorbing Lute's power did indeed increase his own it came at the cost of making his ki spark out of control. The strange stones imbedded into his arms were now ripping him apart, " they most react to ki and increasing the power of my ki through absorbing Lute's must of caused them to go batshit crazy." It took some time for him to get his footing back but not in time to react to Lute's full on assault. Netto huddled up his body trying his best to defend from Lute's attacks many of them ended up burning, cutting, and even putting some kind of poison into his system. This was getting to be an even worse situation when Netto was surprised by sharp rocks hitting his back and imbedding them selves into his skin. He screamed in pain as they started to drain his ki. Netto eventually regained his sense straight and stood ready, "who are you to say they weren't innocence, sure they are pirates and raiders, but that's the way of life on this planet you have no right to judge them or the right to just take their lives." Netto was angry now he didn't care how much pain it caused him he wasn't holding back even one percent. Netto created a bow of energy and nocked a huge arrow of light "4th's scatter shot!" He yelled as he released it, it scattered into thirty or so streams of light all converging on Lute Netto then readied another arrow this time made of ice " 4th's freezing shot" this time opting to not say it out loud hoping Lute would be distracted by the first scatter shot to not see this one coming. After that he launched two arrows made of his ki as well a one final arrow designed to explode in a flash of light when it gets close to Lute. Netto was resolved, that much was clear. Lute's disregard for the lives of the criminals and scum gathered here had crossed a line. It wasn't often Lute ran into true altruistic heroes. It was almost funny to him. He couldn't help the fanged grin spreading across his face. There was no arguing with the Demon Hunter. He wouldn't see it. See the truth of the universe and the true path. The only thing Lute could do now was break him. Break his body. Break his spirit. Leave him to weep and cry for mercy. There was an apex to every battle, a moment when a fighter became in tune with their surroundings--fully drawn in. This was a hint at the mortal fighting instinct, the part that gave life meaning. Lute felt it when the arrow of light shot forth from the bow. All he had to do was dip. Minimal movement, minimal energy. It sailed past, missing him. It broke apart and streams of its energy converged from all directions. Like a dancer, Lute shifted, moved, ducked, and dipped. They all missed, flitting across the sky and out of harms way. The Demon Clansmen brought his arm out to the side, conjuring an ethereal blue blade of fiery ki from his finger tips. And he charged. Netto shot two arrows along the way, both of which Lute managed to skirt past with last minute adjustments to his trajectory. Half-way to his mark, both of his eyes shone with bright Amethyst light as he fired precise beams of sizzling ki. They were the lead up as Lute simply went headlong, ki blade stretched out. He wanted to stab Netto and send him flying into the ruins of the island below. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto watched in horror as Lute dodged every attack like it was nothing " has he been holding back this whole time?" Netto put his arms up to block the two eye beams that struck him the smoke from it cleared just in time to see Lute about to slice him with his energy sword, Netto put his hands together and created a flash of energy that propelled him backwards allowing him to dodge the slice barely. Once Netto had his distance he created his bow of energy again and fired two arrows one made of fire and the other made of pure frost trying his best to keep Lute at bay even for only a minute. Netto energy was being drained more and more by the fragments lodged into his back and arms the more ki he used the more pain it brought him, but even still Netto stood strong even though he was breathing heavy and he could taste blood in his mouth he wouldn't stop fighting. "Your gonna have to try harder then that, I refuse to give up and your words mean nothing to me. Two arrows of flame embedded into Lute's torso. He looked down at them as if they were some mere nuisance. Because, they were. Neither had made purchase in any true way against him. The third arrow, this blue whit frost, flitted through the air. Not wanting to test luck, Lute vanished in a blur, appearing above Netto after his evasion. With a grunt, he gathered his ki and loosed it both fists clenched. The amethyst aura around him flared bright and hot, dissolving the lodged arrows of energy in his flesh in a flashj. As it swelled it burst outward into a massive sphere of destruction that spread in a dark cancer across the sky. If not hit by the burst directly, Netto would deal with the subsequent shock wave crash over him. Lute's dark curse wracked the Demon Hunter once more, crimson lightning sparking out of his flesh to inflict suffering. And the Demon Clansmen fell, bringing his heel like an axe upon the crook of Netto's neck. Bloodlust and ferocity filling him, the Namekian chased after him with hand extended to grab hold of his throat. Arm unfurling like a snaking ribbon Lute then attempt to finish the assault by carrying him down and smashing him into the rubble blow. His arm would retract shortly after, clicking to place in his shoulder with a sickening pop. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto could feel the curse on him slowly killing him, his breathing was getting heavier and his vision was fading. When suddenly the dark aura surged in him causing him to scream in pain as it held him in place, Lute came down with an Axe kick to the back of the neck causing him to spit up blood, and launched Netto toward the ground. While he was falling when he felt an arm grab the back of his neck and dragged him toward the ground at an even faster rate. He slammed face first into the ground below, he tried to rise up to continue fighting, but the strain was to much as he blacked out completely. Netto had one final thought before he blackout "so this is how I die? Well at least I fought to the best of my abilities and didn't stop fighting till the end. He may take my life and soul but he wont take my pride. Forgive me everyone maybe ill meet you in the next life." After this thought Netto closed his eyes and fell into the darkness. Lute

Netto wasn't dead. Lute could sill see the shallow rise and fall of his back, indicating breathing. The bloodied Demon Hunter lingered in the center of the obliterated island. Since most of it had sunken in with the impact, sea water flooded in slowly. There wasn't a doubt in Lute's mind that the incapacitated warrior would drown in a few minutes. The end of every battle was a bittersweet, especially if said battle was won. Lute cherished the thrill of the fight. Scowling, he flew down and grabbed Netto by the scruff of his jacket and carried him out of the hole. He traversed some distance across the sparkling blue Heran seas, until he found what looked to be a fishing village. He landed on a pier, scaring the locals away with a wrathful scowl. There were large hoists lining the dock, where the fishermen would lift heavier catches and swing them out of the bellies of their vessels. Lute took a chain in one hand and wrapped it around Netto's throat, just tight enough that it made breathing difficult. He also jammed two large barbed hooks into the man's shoulder blades and pulled, yanking him up so he was dangling by his own weight. It would hurt, really bad, and hopefully jar the fallen warrior from his unconscious stupor. Seabirds squawked and swarmed overhead. They were scavengers, drawn by the fresh scent of blood. Netto had plenty of it dripping onto the dock's wodden slats. Lute slapped his face a few times to encourage him to wake up, if the pain of the hooks wasn't enough. "I was strung up like this once," Lute said. "By a makaioshin in the Demon Realm. Left me to rot. I had a lot of time to think, to reflect on my weakness. Because of that I'm stronger than ever."He cupped Netto's chin, dark eyes boring into his soul. "Remember how weak you were today. A true demon lord would have torn you limb from limb. Your only concern should be the strength necessary to survive. Protecting the weak is a fool's errand."BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Netto woke up to a shear pain in his shoulder seeing himself hanging by a fishing hook and Lute standing in front of him. Lute talked about Netto's weakness and it made him laugh " you have no clue who I am. I have lived over 6 lives each of their memories, abilities, and powers are stored in me. My soul has existed for over 10,000 years and if I was in my prime I would turn you into a paste before you could even blink." Netto dropped the coy smile and looked straight faced at Lute " but I lost it due to a sacrifice I had to make and ill do it again if I had the chance. I am who I am due to me protecting the weak, the sacrifices and the powers I've obtained all because of my will to fight for others when they can not. You say the weak should die, I say we were all weak once and everyone disserves a chance to grow stronger. So go ahead and leave me here, I'll get stronger and ill show you what I mean one day though that may not be soon." Netto then continued to hang there waiting for Lute to say something. Lute

The words were resolved. Lute wondered how much of what Netto was saying was true. The having lived multiple lives, that was an interesting notion. But, it slightly disgusted the Namekian. Because, he was a naturalist, at the very essence of the word. Still leaning in close with Netto, he chuckled. "You mistake my intentions, hero. I want the weak to be strong. But, at their own volition, their own hard work and sacrifice. Just as we did to get here. Most of them had their chance. And they choose to be idle, to remain stagnant and never seek beyond. And thus, when the strong come they perished. That is the way of all things. The weaker animal is eaten by the bigger. The Herans were but gnats compared to us. I toyed with them until you arrived. But--I had to use some of my real strength against you and in the face of that they were annihilated." Lute turned away, walking a few feet before he paused. "I certainly hope you get stronger. Unlike that lot, you have real potential. Just remember, as one of the strong you don't owe weaklings anything."The sea sighed, waves crashing into the docks and sending its spray into the air. Netto watched as Lute left breathing slowly to keep his energy from being wasted. Once Lute was gone he pulled him self off the hook and began healing himself taking a piece of jerky out of his coat pack and began eating it using the meat to activate his demonic powers increasing his healing abilities. Once he felt able to move again he started heading toward a nearby dock where he hired a man to take him back to the visitor island. Once he arrived he slowly walked back to his ship and got inside. He locked the ship and got some home made medicine out of the storage to tend to his wounds that haven't healed. It took him a while to rip the fragments out of his back and arms, but once that was done he wrapped up his body as best he could before getting some sleep. Lutes words played on repeat in his head. Netto wasn't gonna get stronger by himself not since his powers were lost and changed. He had two choices either letting his demonic half take over or find outside help, and he wasn't about to give the beast inside him any freedom. Lute

Shortly after Lute walked away, a gleaming space yacht descended from the heavens above, levitating above the harbor. Lute waited at the end of the docks, levitating into the cargo hold. It pulled away, swiftly shooting towards the sky above. Inside Lute made his way to the bridge. His pupil Marte was at the helm, the view-port ahead showing the full panorama of Hera's upper atmosphere. "Did you blow off some steam?" Marte asked. Lute folded his arms as the ship reached high orbit. It would take a few moments for the nav-computer to calculate their next jump. He was beginning to feel even less satisfaction from his little excursions to these fighting rings. It was a guilty pleasure of his, to find them and crush all those that stood up to him. He really wanted to inspire those he beat to grow stronger. That was everything to him. Stronger mortals followed the path he thought the universe should traverse. But, even so things would not be ideal until the gods were purged. Their influence was part of the reason mortals were so stagnant in their growth. Very few even strove for anything. "I need to figure out a way to show the people of this universe their weakness, so they will want to purge it themselves."Marte snorted. "Yeah. Good luck with that. I think the only way they'll learn is if you a boot on their throats."Lute rubbed his chin. Possibly.
