Where am I? Why can't I move?
Kaijin's mind was active, although his body wasn't. Deactivation? Repair? Kaijin had never been consciously aware of his surroundings while deactivated. Usually deactivation meant everything was deactivated. This was new. Nonetheless, Kaijin was aware of the voices beyond his stasis pod. He recognized them. A female....definitely Dr. Janus. And then a gruff sounding male's....definitely Scar. He was back at the lab. But why? His last memory was....was...
The Kai.
Now he remembered. That wretched Kai....Aubus. The one who had fought him...had humiliated him. Had called for his deactivation. Anger filled his conscious. He wanted out. He wanted to begin training, to become strong enough to crush that insignificant bug. But, he knew he could do nothing until he was reactivated, settling for sitting and listening. He wasn't upset for long, however, for the subject of discussion amongst Scar and Janus was most intriguing...for it was concerning him.
"Marvelous. Absolutely marvelous! The video feed from #42's memory banks....it's nearly unbelievable. My creation exhibited such an impressive display of power. I never realized he had made this much progress in such a short amount of time. Come, darling. Come, Sol. Come look at this!" Dr. Evelyn Janus's voice could be heard from beyond the stasis chamber. The tone in her voice hinted a mixture of curiosity and near giddy excitement. The other name however, Kaijin did not recognize. Who was Sol? Kaijin had never heard the name before....or rather he had never heard the name before, but was all too familiar with the person attached to said name. A fact the Android would realize a moment later.
"Right away, Doctor."
That was Scar's voice! So, it turned out the military veteran's real name was Sol, and that his callsign did not double as his actual name, contrary to popular belief. How interesting was that! With an internal smirk (for he could not actually smile due to being deactivated), Kaijin silently resolved to never call his trainer by his callsign ever again, and see how agitated the older man got.
"The numbers I'm reading are insane. Power outputs are at an all time high, not even comparable to previous statistics gathered during his training period. He never displayed such high level of combat proficiency, nor such a mastery of his artificial energy as displayed in his battle against this foe. Who is the man he is fighting? Looking at the readings on his foe, his energy levels are similarly high, but he is not one of our creations, nor do I believe he belongs to the military. An undocumented martial artist?"
There was a slight pause as Dr. Janus's fingers drummed against a computer console, before she replied.
"Not quite, darling. Look here....Kaijin's sensors, in addition to documenting power readings and fluctuations from those he fights against, is supposed to classify and "memorize" in a sense....his opponent's Ki Signature, as a way of ensuring if he loses his opponent, he has something to resort to in order to track said opponent down. Interestingly enough, this sensor glitched out, as you can see by the random stream of numerals here....and here. Eventually, Kaijin's systems automatically shut down the system in favor of a complete reboot, but before it was shut down it just continued to read error messages. That, compared with audio feeds recovered from Kaijin's mental records...this man, who identifies himself as Aubus, is apparently an apprentice to the Supreme Kai, who is a divine being beyond this realm according to historical references. Gods of Creation, responsible for the emergence of mankind and the universe as we know it. This man claims to be a divine being. A God amongst men, apparently."
The sound of Scar laughing resonated throughout the room, so much so that Kaijin would hear it loudly from the confines of his pod. Kaijin silently thanked Dr. Janus for having this conversation right in front of his pod, and thanked himself for waking himself up, despite his deactivation...an anomaly he would have to self-diagnose another time.
"What a load of shit. I know what the Kais are, but how are we to know he is one? Anyone can say anything. And people love to pretend they're gods. There's no proof of it. For all we know, Kaijin's sensory systems could have been damaged from the fight. There was one instance in the video recordings where the martial artist managed to overwhelm Kaijin, and damaged him beyond acceptable parameters. The errors could have been a response to that."
More of Janus's fingernails tip tapping against the computer console.
"No. And here is why. These sensory readings have been coming up as inconclusive ever since the battle began. It has nothing to do with damage, for his latest diagnostic testing was conducted recently prior to this battle, and he came out perfect. We both assessed the testing ourselves. In addition, Kaijin is an Energy Absorption Model of Android, a homage to my historic idol, of course. The blue jewels imbedded in his palms, as you know, allow him to absorb the energy from Ki blasts and convert them into usable energy to boost his own reserves and increase his strength. Kaijin absorbed several energy constructions from Aubus, and as such his strength increased dramatically, allowing him to dominate his foe. Traces of this energy remained in Kaijin's systems when he returned to me....and in my original damage assessment, I recognized this anomaly, and moved to find the source. Even with the supercomputer assisting, I failed to implant the Ki signature in the databanks. Which means it cannot be sensed to begin with. Which means...."
"His Ki is beyond a mortal's capability to discern. Or he's an Android. But judging from his behavior in the video feed, I don't believe for a second he's a Capsule Corp Android." Scar concluded.
Janus nodded," Precisely, dear. Aubus is indeed what he describes himself to be. A God. And a God who has a particular interest in our world. Why, I don't know. And realize that my classification of him as a "God" is merely theory. I have no other basis other than confidence in my own technology, and denial in it's ability to fail, unless it is something beyond this realm, which I believe this Ki is. However, the fact that he is a God....excites me greatly."
"Why is that?" Scar asked, his brow raising in question.
"Simple!" Dr. Janus exclaimed, a dangerous edge in her voice, mixed with equal levels of excitement. Kaijin recognized that tone. It meant Dr. Janus was formulating a plan...a plan to use this coincidental clash of between machine and god to further her own goals. Dr. Janus was about to turn this into a money grab.
"My creation....beat Aubus. He beat a God, a servant of the Supreme Kai. Do you know what that means?!"
"We overstepped our boundaries and now will incur the wrath of the Gods of Creation?" Scar somehow had a feeling that was not the right answer
"No, you simple minded fool! My beloved creation, my pride and joy beat a God of Creation. However, he did so in a desert...where no one could see. What if.....what if he were to kill that God of Creation? No matter of the venue, what if he were to kill that God of Creation and showcase the death to the world? How beautiful would that be? How famous would Kaijin become? How rich would we become? We'd attract the services of the greatest criminal syndicates known to mankind! Beyond just the scum of the Earth! We'd attract galactic attention! My android program will be known for Kaijin's successes! An Android, a creation of man capable of destroying the Gods of Creation! If one can conquer a God, then it can conquer anyone else! We could conquer Earth if we so desired! Hell, if I were to really jumpstart this program, we could conquer the universe!" Janus said, an evil smile crossing her features.
"Hmm...it seems possible. But how are we going to find this Kai? And even so, can you even kill a God? This is far beyond what we originally planned, Evelyn. In prior tests, Kaijin has dealt with mortals and other Androids. This "Aubus" isn't even an alien. He's on another plane of existence. A divine being. How do we know if he can be killed? And if we can't identify his Ki Signature....then we cannot track him" Scar noted. He brought up fair points. They knew too little about this Kai to suddenly implement an executive order amongst the research team for his death. And with an Android as seemingly perfect as Kaijin, it didn't do to take foolish risks. Kaijin was the only truly successful android. All the other ones, while powerful, were too unstable in their own unique ways to be of use to the research team. If Kaijin was destroyed beyond repair or recreation.....that was it. It would be years before another Android of the same quality could be produced. And they couldn't afford such a costly emergency project. If Kaijin was destroyed, it more than likely spelled the end of this secret plan for wealth.
"Because he fled." Janus retorted, her gaze returning to the computer screen. "He fled for he was scared to die. If he was truly immortal, if he were truly incapable of death, he would have continued to stick to his guns, and charged without a second thought. Continued on and on until Kaijin was a pile of scrap. For the Kai to flee....meant that he was intimidated by Kaijin. That he was afraid that were he to continue, he would tire and Kaijin would kill him. As for tracking Aubus, I have not discovered how to do that yet....but Kaijin is the hunter. I am sure he could figure it out. Despite his obvious childish nature that I have learned that he possesses as of late...he is quite intelligent. And resourceful. I have no doubt he could hunt down this Kai without use of a Ki signature. Now, I must finalize these downloads, and prepare Kaijin for his next test."
"Next test?" Scar inquired, which was actually rather amusing, for Kaijin was asking himself the same question, but Scar merely gave voice to it.
"Yes, dear. Not only has Kaijin's power matured, but I am outfitting him with several upgrades to his combat efficiency. I am no fool. I am not about to deploy my last chance at fame and wealth on a dangerous mission to kill a God of Creation without assurance that he will succeed."
Dr. Janus suddenly flipped a switch, and Kaijin's consciousness was suddenly subjected to a powerful stream of information, data entering his systems and flooding his consciousness. Kaijin internally grimaced as he lost his hold....and drifted back into the darkness of deactivation....
~~~A few hours later.....~~~
"Android Designation Number Forty-Two, chosen name of Kaijin Vex scheduled for reactivation in five....four.....three....two...."
Finally.
Several loud hisses could be heard as the stasis pod opened, the sound of air being released from the pod filling the room. Once the door was open, Kaijin could be seen, dressed in the same clothes that he always wore. His baggy blank pants, black combat boots, his black T-shirt with a yellow lightning bolt design in the middle, and his trademark blue overcoat with a yellow inner lining, with his matching blue sunglasses.
Kaijin stepped off the platform of the stasis pod, and onto the tiled ground below, his head slowly turning to see Dr. Janus and Scar standing nearby.
"Hello, Mother. Master Scar." Kaijin had evidently decided to hide his knowledge of Scar's real name, deciding nothing good could come of releasing that he knew of such apparently top secret information so quickly. Thus, obedient little kid it was.
Dr. Janus ate it right up, stepping close to Kaijin and stroking his cheek affectionately. Kaijin internally cringed at such a display. His glitch...no...his evolution during his fight with Aubus had changed him. It made him realize that what Feng had displayed was not a glitch, but more of a realization that he was a slave, and a desire to make a life of his own....and the fact that Kaijin had absorbed the Android meant that he adopted Feng's beliefs...and such a desire to carve his own fate led to him beginning to rewrite his own programming. The Android was slowly freeing himself from Dr. Janus's bonds.
"Oh my dear, lovely boy. You have no idea what you have done, my dear. Your battle against Aubus was so wondrous....so beautiful....that I desire for you to do it again. Listen to me, my dear son. You are perfect. My greatest creation. You have far exceeded even my greatest expectations. When I created you, I expected you to become a King amongst men.....to conquer the Earth. But no....you have gone far beyond that. You have proven yourself stronger...superior to even the Gods themselves...the one's who created life. My dear boy....you are perfect. Thus....I give you this task. Listen closely. Android #42, initiate mission reception log."
"Mission Log open. Awaiting orders." Kaijin immediately responded. The thought of those words coming forth from his mouth without his volition sickened him....but he let them come out. He would have his time eventually. In the meantime...he would enjoy this sideshow....and accomplish one of his desires.
"You are to kill Aubus. Bring me his head. And we will broadcast it to the world. No, to the universe. And then everyone will know of us. Will know of you as the Slayer of the Divine. Heed my words, and accept this mission." Janus said, placing her arms behind her back.
"Mission acknowledged and accepted." Kaijin said.
"Good. Now come. We have work to do. Scar, come along as well." And with that Dr. Janus turned to exit the room, moving to the door leading to the training hall. Scar nodded silently before moving to follow, with Kaijin following thereafter.
Upon entering the training hall, Kaijin was struck with a sudden sense of deja vu. It wasn't so long ago...that he had fought Feng in this very hall. It was amazing how far he had come in such a short time. Now, he was much stronger...much more resourceful. He felt the artificial energy coursing through his artificial veins. Kaijin was ready to prove himself once more.
As Dr. Janus and Scar moved up to the observatory deck up above, the female scientist slammed her hand upon a console. Looking over, Kaijin realized that it was the same stasis pod that Feng used to reside in, before he was destroyed. However, instead of the word #32 on it, it instead had the designation #41.
Number forty one. The Android model that had predated him.
From the observatory deck, Dr. Janus spoke over the loudspeaker, putting on her best announcer voice, speaking with a rather dramatic flair about her.
"And now, my dear son. Meet your predecessor. Nearly perfect.....you were just better. Android #41....also known as Tsuyo."
From the stasis pod stepped out a rather short woman. Dressed in black boots, maroon colored tights with black short shorts, and a specialized croptop, Android #41, also known as Tsuyo, stepped closer to Kaijin, an ever present smile across her features, her long brown hair flowing behind her as she approached her successor.
"So you're Kaijin Vex. Kinda cute, hmm? But not my type." Tsuyo said, flipping her hair, her white sleeves extending well past the elbow, also acting as fingerless gloves. She looked up cautiously towards the observatory deck, before scowling and looking back at Kaijin
"You killed Feng. Feng was one of the ones who knew what the system was. I fought him.....just as you did. Like you, I was stronger than him. UNLIKE you, his words rang true in my mind. Unlike you, I was strong enough to bypass the slave collars they put on us in the form of programming. Unlike you, I desired to be free. Feng was a freedom fighter, willing to be deemed a failure if it meant him possibly escaping from this place. And you destroyed him. And for that....I will destroy you!"
And with that Tsuyo vaulted forward. Her words struck Kaijin like a knife. She was deemed a failure because she beat her programming and attempted to escape. She had the same test, she too was pit against Feng. She too was poised to destroy Feng. It was just that Kaijin went through with the destruction, in service of Janus. Tsuyo didn't. Kaijin raised his arms up in a guard as Tsuyo's fist slammed into his guard, the girl's punch sending shockwaves into Kaijin, forcing the male android back a few paces.
"Sacred Waltz!"
Tsuyo's body suddenly began to emanate artificial Ki in the form of blue electricity, similar to Kaijin's own Ki charges, and suddenly her attacks got faster....and harder. Her punches became mere blurs, her kicks devastating blows upon his form. Kaijin's eyes tried to follow the attack patterns, but every time he became accustomed to her pattern of attack, it suddenly changed, becoming something new. Tsuyo's arms and legs were a mere blur of movement as she peppered Kaijin's body with relentless, seemingly endless streams of melee attacks. The pressure upon Kaijin was on, as he felt Tsuyo gradually grow stronger in her attacks, her blows becoming faster, more erratic. Kaijin knew that there were only a few more moments until his guard was broken, and he knew that once it did, Tsuyo would destroy him without remorse. He felt guilty to beat her....for he knew she would be another rebel destroyed as he continued to serve Dr. Janus...but he knew the alternative was to be shut down. And he couldn't afford that. Not when he was so close to perfection. To freedom.
"Energy Barrier!" Kaijin yelled out, his body emanating artificial Ki in the form of a sphere of red Ki, black electricity sparking along the frame of it. He felt a cry of shock come from Tsuyo as the barrier repelled her, the woman retreating almost immediately, performing several backflips in order to create distance between her and the male Android. However, he would hardly let her. Redirecting the energy spent into creating his barrier, the sphere around his body immediately began to coalesce into his right hand, forming a rather unstable sphere of red Ki with black electricity surrounding it. Directing his palm towards Tsuyo, he released the energy, sending the ball rocketing towards Tsuyo.
"Furious Glare!"
What? But that's....
And there it was. Kaijin's signature move. His most destructive ability, being used in the exact same manner as he did. A Finger beam, red energy beam with black electricity, used to penetrate and destroy his own Ki blast...and was now heading straight for him!
Kaijin couldn't believe it. Out of reflex, Kaijin raised his right hand, the Ki beam crashing directly into the blue jewel embedded into his palm. And he began to absorb the blast, converting Tsuyo's artificial energy into his own. The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Ever since his creation, he had been able to utilize his signature. It was never a technique he specifically tailored...nor did he learn it from Scar. It was programmed into his knowledge, just like flying and manipulating his Ki to begin with....so did it truly originate from Tsuyo? Was this her tailored move? Kaijin hardly had time to think about it, for suddenly Tsuyo appeared behind him, and unleashed a barrage of Ki blasts directly into his back. Kaijin went flying forward, thrown off his feet as the Ki blasts peppered his form, sending him crashing into the wall on the opposite sides of the wall, the Ki blast barrage exploding upon contact.
Eventually she stopped her barrage, her eyes scanning the smoky wreckage for confirmation of Kaijin's destruction. Instead, she suddenly had a Ki blast shot at her, a sphere of blue Ki emerging from the smoke, rocketing straight for her!
With lightning fast reflexes, Tsuyo dodged the blow, only to have Kaijin appear behind her, via Rapid Movement. However, there was something different in his gaze. He was no longer playing around in an attempt to spare her life. He was no longer trying to discern her level of power. He was trying to destroy her...and he'd be damned if he'd let another Android claim his life.
Kaijin immediately raised his foot, moving to roundhouse kick her across the face. Ducking swiftly, Tsuyo crouched down, and began to charge a powerful Ki blast, intent on releasing it point blank into his body, but Kaijin beat her to the punch, the man vaulting back before blasting Tsuyo back with a Ki Beam. The female Android let out a loud yell of alarm as she crashed into the same wall Kaijin crashed into moments prior.
"What is this...energy output? Janus...Janus never....never could've improved her technology that mu-" Tsuyo started before Kaijin shot over to her, his propulsion forces underneath his feet much improved thank to his upgrades. Grinding to a halt in front of Tsuyo, Kaijin punched her in the gut, causing Tsuyo to grunt due to the impact.
"I'm stronger than any Android Janus could have ever constructed in the past. Dear Tsuyo....I apologize. If things had been different, I would have joined you right now in your rebellion. But, you timed your execution poorly. I'm biding my time....and unfortunately for you now is not the time. But like Feng....you will still live. But you will live as an extension of me..." Kaijin explained, no trace of the happy, simple....rather stupid boy that he had portrayed himself as previously. This was the other side to Kaijin Vex. The calculating, cold killer that was very much the intelligent titan that his mother was. Perhaps even more so, given his limitless capacity for learning, memory and evolution.
"You....damn you! I will not lose! I will not allow myself to become apart of your pursuit for power! I will not allow you to consume my pow-"
"Who said it was your choice?" Kaijin interrupted, before backhanding Tsuyo across the face, sending the Android staggering back. In a fit of rage, Tsuyo charged forward
"Sacred Waltz!" She said, screaming this time as she moved to assault Kaijin's body with a blur of attacks...except this time Kaijin matched her, his own power raising to overtake hers, his defensive capabilities rising in tow. Despite her terrifying attack speed, Kaijin matched her blow for blow....and then he began to retaliate, his blows raining upon Tsuyo, overwhelming her bit by bit before the female Android was on a rapidly crumbling defense. Finally, Kaijin broke through her defense, hitting her square in the chin with his knee, raised to strike her. Tsuyo's head snapped up, before Kaijin twirled in midair, before planting his foot in Tsuyo's gut, sending the Android flying back.
Kaijin took this opportunity to raise his palm upwards, and began charging a massive sphere of Ki. Again, this was a red ball, with black electricity orbiting the ball of Ki. It kept growing bigger and bigger in size. Until the sphere was larger than Kaijin's hand. As Tsuyo got up, her eyes widened as Kaijin released the sphere.
"Endless Anarchy."
The sphere rose straight in the air before releasing a blinding red light, the light overtaking the training field, so bright it could easily rob someone of their sight temporarily. Even from the observatory deck, Dr. Janus and Scar had to turn away and cover their eyes, to ensure their eyes were safe from the blast.
Tsuyo wasn't so lucky, such an exposure of light overloading her visual capacity, forcing her to close her eyes and cover them.
Throughout the light show, Kaijin then raised his pointer finger and directed it towards Tsuyo. The energy ball, still emitting the blinding light, then launched itself towards Tsuyo. Tsuyo, her emergency sensors warning her of danger, blindly held out her arms in a vain attempt to deflect the blast, but it proved much more powerful then she expected. The sphere seared her arms, and immediately forced her back towards the wall. She couldn't force it back...it was overwhelming hers. Opening one eye, Tsuyo gasped as her arms were forced back.
"I will not lose....! I...have a destiny!" Tsuyo screamed out before using all of her might to hurl the energy sphere upwards, the "Endless Anarchy" sphere colliding with the ceiling, resulting in a huge explosion that rocked the very foundation of the lab.
Tsuyo, partly blinded and spent from deflecting such a powerful show of force, never saw Kaijin's advance coming, until it was too late.
Kaijin's hand pierced straight through her body, his hand penetrating past her chest and coming out the back, her power core in his hand. Tsuyo's eyes widened in surprise as she felt her energy levels dropping drastically.
"Damn you....." Tsuyo muttered
"Join me...in greatness." Kaijin said, before ripping his hand out from her chest, her power core in his hand. With his other hand, he decapitated the Android, ensuring her computer chip would remain intact. Looking as her lifeless head rolled, Kaijin looked up at Dr. Janus, awaiting her assessment.
Dr. Janus was near giddy with happiness," So brutal! So calculating! What a wonderful display! Oh good show! He passes! He passes! Assistants, Assistants! Bring me the head of Android #41 and the power core....we will fuse it into his body momentarily!" Dr. Janus exclaimed. Soon, her beloved son would be even stronger....just as soon as she wiped Tsuyo's memory core, ensuring Tsuyo's defective personality would never manifest itself in Kaijin. She truly had no idea what was already formulating in Kaijin's head.
As Scar and Janus turned their backs from the observation deck. Kaijin turned towards Tsuyo's lifeless head, and raised his left hand towards the head. Tsuyo's head twitched for a moment, before the computer chip came flying from the exposed machinery of the severed neck. The chip flew towards his head, and phased past his forehead and directly into his "brain". Now...he just needed the power core. As the assistants left the observatory room and began walking down the stairs to approach the floor, Kaijin quickly ripped a piece of metal from the nearby wreckage. Sharpening his finger with Ki, he quickly cut it into strips and made it resemble the shape of the computer chip, the piece of metal the same width and length as the chip, and unless someone paid attention, would be easy to misinterpret the piece of metal as the computer chip. With that, he sent the "chip" flying back into Tsuyo's head. When the assistants fused the metal strip into his "brain", he would make sure to eject it as soon as he was let back onto the field.
As the assistants approached, Kaijin closed his eyes and smiled. Soon....very soon he would be released back into the world.
And then he would hunt down that Kai.
And kill him.
All the other ones, while powerful, were too unstable in their own unique ways to be of use to the research team. If Kaijin was destroyed beyond repair or recreation.....that was it. It would be years before another Android of the same quality could be produced. And they couldn't afford such a costly emergency project. If Kaijin was destroyed, it more than likely spelled the end of this secret plan for wealth.
"Because he fled." Janus retorted, her gaze returning to the computer screen. "He fled for he was scared to die. If he was truly immortal, if he were truly incapable of death, he would have continued to stick to his guns, and charged without a second thought. Continued on and on until Kaijin was a pile of scrap. For the Kai to flee....meant that he was intimidated by Kaijin. That he was afraid that were he to continue, he would tire and Kaijin would kill him. As for tracking Aubus, I have not discovered how to do that yet....but Kaijin is the hunter. I am sure he could figure it out. Despite his obvious childish nature that I have learned that he possesses as of late...he is quite intelligent. And resourceful. I have no doubt he could hunt down this Kai without use of a Ki signature. Now, I must finalize these downloads, and prepare Kaijin for his next test."
"Next test?" Scar inquired, which was actually rather amusing, for Kaijin was asking himself the same question, but Scar merely gave voice to it.
"Yes, dear. Not only has Kaijin's power matured, but I am outfitting him with several upgrades to his combat efficiency. I am no fool. I am not about to deploy my last chance at fame and wealth on a dangerous mission to kill a God of Creation without assurance that he will succeed."
Dr. Janus suddenly flipped a switch, and Kaijin's consciousness was suddenly subjected to a powerful stream of information, data entering his systems and flooding his consciousness. Kaijin internally grimaced as he lost his hold....and drifted back into the darkness of deactivation....
~~~A few hours later.....~~~
"Android Designation Number Forty-Two, chosen name of Kaijin Vex scheduled for reactivation in five....four.....three....two...."
Finally.
Several loud hisses could be heard as the stasis pod opened, the sound of air being released from the pod filling the room. Once the door was open, Kaijin could be seen, dressed in the same clothes that he always wore. His baggy blank pants, black combat boots, his black T-shirt with a yellow lightning bolt design in the middle, and his trademark blue overcoat with a yellow inner lining, with his matching blue sunglasses.
Kaijin stepped off the platform of the stasis pod, and onto the tiled ground below, his head slowly turning to see Dr. Janus and Scar standing nearby.
"Hello, Mother. Master Scar." Kaijin had evidently decided to hide his knowledge of Scar's real name, deciding nothing good could come of releasing that he knew of such apparently top secret information so quickly. Thus, obedient little kid it was.
Dr. Janus ate it right up, stepping close to Kaijin and stroking his cheek affectionately. Kaijin internally cringed at such a display. His glitch...no...his evolution during his fight with Aubus had changed him. It made him realize that what Feng had displayed was not a glitch, but more of a realization that he was a slave, and a desire to make a life of his own....and the fact that Kaijin had absorbed the Android meant that he adopted Feng's beliefs...and such a desire to carve his own fate led to him beginning to rewrite his own programming. The Android was slowly freeing himself from Dr. Janus's bonds.
"Oh my dear, lovely boy. You have no idea what you have done, my dear. Your battle against Aubus was so wondrous....so beautiful....that I desire for you to do it again. Listen to me, my dear son. You are perfect. My greatest creation. You have far exceeded even my greatest expectations. When I created you, I expected you to become a King amongst men.....to conquer the Earth. But no....you have gone far beyond that. You have proven yourself stronger...superior to even the Gods themselves...the one's who created life. My dear boy....you are perfect. Thus....I give you this task. Listen closely. Android #42, initiate mission reception log."
"Mission Log open. Awaiting orders." Kaijin immediately responded. The thought of those words coming forth from his mouth without his volition sickened him....but he let them come out. He would have his time eventually. In the meantime...he would enjoy this sideshow....and accomplish one of his desires.
"You are to kill Aubus. Bring me his head. And we will broadcast it to the world. No, to the universe. And then everyone will know of us. Will know of you as the Slayer of the Divine. Heed my words, and accept this mission." Janus said, placing her arms behind her back.
"Mission acknowledged and accepted." Kaijin said.
"Good. Now come. We have work to do. Scar, come along as well." And with that Dr. Janus turned to exit the room, moving to the door leading to the training hall. Scar nodded silently before moving to follow, with Kaijin following thereafter.
Upon entering the training hall, Kaijin was struck with a sudden sense of deja vu. It wasn't so long ago...that he had fought Feng in this very hall. It was amazing how far he had come in such a short time. Now, he was much stronger...much more resourceful. He felt the artificial energy coursing through his artificial veins. Kaijin was ready to prove himself once more.
As Dr. Janus and Scar moved up to the observatory deck up above, the female scientist slammed her hand upon a console. Looking over, Kaijin realized that it was the same stasis pod that Feng used to reside in, before he was destroyed. However, instead of the word #32 on it, it instead had the designation #41.
Number forty one. The Android model that had predated him.
From the observatory deck, Dr. Janus spoke over the loudspeaker, putting on her best announcer voice, speaking with a rather dramatic flair about her.
"And now, my dear son. Meet your predecessor. Nearly perfect.....you were just better. Android #41....also known as Tsuyo."
From the stasis pod stepped out a rather short woman. Dressed in black boots, maroon colored tights with black short shorts, and a specialized croptop, Android #41, also known as Tsuyo, stepped closer to Kaijin, an ever present smile across her features, her long brown hair flowing behind her as she approached her successor.
"So you're Kaijin Vex. Kinda cute, hmm? But not my type." Tsuyo said, flipping her hair, her white sleeves extending well past the elbow, also acting as fingerless gloves. She looked up cautiously towards the observatory deck, before scowling and looking back at Kaijin
"You killed Feng. Feng was one of the ones who knew what the system was. I fought him.....just as you did. Like you, I was stronger than him. UNLIKE you, his words rang true in my mind. Unlike you, I was strong enough to bypass the slave collars they put on us in the form of programming. Unlike you, I desired to be free. Feng was a freedom fighter, willing to be deemed a failure if it meant him possibly escaping from this place. And you destroyed him. And for that....I will destroy you!"
And with that Tsuyo vaulted forward. Her words struck Kaijin like a knife. She was deemed a failure because she beat her programming and attempted to escape. She had the same test, she too was pit against Feng. She too was poised to destroy Feng. It was just that Kaijin went through with the destruction, in service of Janus. Tsuyo didn't. Kaijin raised his arms up in a guard as Tsuyo's fist slammed into his guard, the girl's punch sending shockwaves into Kaijin, forcing the male android back a few paces.
"Sacred Waltz!"
Tsuyo's body suddenly began to emanate artificial Ki in the form of blue electricity, similar to Kaijin's own Ki charges, and suddenly her attacks got faster....and harder. Her punches became mere blurs, her kicks devastating blows upon his form. Kaijin's eyes tried to follow the attack patterns, but every time he became accustomed to her pattern of attack, it suddenly changed, becoming something new. Tsuyo's arms and legs were a mere blur of movement as she peppered Kaijin's body with relentless, seemingly endless streams of melee attacks. The pressure upon Kaijin was on, as he felt Tsuyo gradually grow stronger in her attacks, her blows becoming faster, more erratic. Kaijin knew that there were only a few more moments until his guard was broken, and he knew that once it did, Tsuyo would destroy him without remorse. He felt guilty to beat her....for he knew she would be another rebel destroyed as he continued to serve Dr. Janus...but he knew the alternative was to be shut down. And he couldn't afford that. Not when he was so close to perfection. To freedom.
"Energy Barrier!" Kaijin yelled out, his body emanating artificial Ki in the form of a sphere of red Ki, black electricity sparking along the frame of it. He felt a cry of shock come from Tsuyo as the barrier repelled her, the woman retreating almost immediately, performing several backflips in order to create distance between her and the male Android. However, he would hardly let her. Redirecting the energy spent into creating his barrier, the sphere around his body immediately began to coalesce into his right hand, forming a rather unstable sphere of red Ki with black electricity surrounding it. Directing his palm towards Tsuyo, he released the energy, sending the ball rocketing towards Tsuyo.
"Furious Glare!"
What? But that's....
And there it was. Kaijin's signature move. His most destructive ability, being used in the exact same manner as he did. A Finger beam, red energy beam with black electricity, used to penetrate and destroy his own Ki blast...and was now heading straight for him!
Kaijin couldn't believe it. Out of reflex, Kaijin raised his right hand, the Ki beam crashing directly into the blue jewel embedded into his palm. And he began to absorb the blast, converting Tsuyo's artificial energy into his own. The more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Ever since his creation, he had been able to utilize his signature. It was never a technique he specifically tailored...nor did he learn it from Scar. It was programmed into his knowledge, just like flying and manipulating his Ki to begin with....so did it truly originate from Tsuyo? Was this her tailored move? Kaijin hardly had time to think about it, for suddenly Tsuyo appeared behind him, and unleashed a barrage of Ki blasts directly into his back. Kaijin went flying forward, thrown off his feet as the Ki blasts peppered his form, sending him crashing into the wall on the opposite sides of the wall, the Ki blast barrage exploding upon contact.
Eventually she stopped her barrage, her eyes scanning the smoky wreckage for confirmation of Kaijin's destruction. Instead, she suddenly had a Ki blast shot at her, a sphere of blue Ki emerging from the smoke, rocketing straight for her!
With lightning fast reflexes, Tsuyo dodged the blow, only to have Kaijin appear behind her, via Rapid Movement. However, there was something different in his gaze. He was no longer playing around in an attempt to spare her life. He was no longer trying to discern her level of power. He was trying to destroy her...and he'd be damned if he'd let another Android claim his life.
Kaijin immediately raised his foot, moving to roundhouse kick her across the face. Ducking swiftly, Tsuyo crouched down, and began to charge a powerful Ki blast, intent on releasing it point blank into his body, but Kaijin beat her to the punch, the man vaulting back before blasting Tsuyo back with a Ki Beam. The female Android let out a loud yell of alarm as she crashed into the same wall Kaijin crashed into moments prior.
"What is this...energy output? Janus...Janus never....never could've improved her technology that mu-" Tsuyo started before Kaijin shot over to her, his propulsion forces underneath his feet much improved thank to his upgrades. Grinding to a halt in front of Tsuyo, Kaijin punched her in the gut, causing Tsuyo to grunt due to the impact.
"I'm stronger than any Android Janus could have ever constructed in the past. Dear Tsuyo....I apologize. If things had been different, I would have joined you right now in your rebellion. But, you timed your execution poorly. I'm biding my time....and unfortunately for you now is not the time. But like Feng....you will still live. But you will live as an extension of me..." Kaijin explained, no trace of the happy, simple....rather stupid boy that he had portrayed himself as previously. This was the other side to Kaijin Vex. The calculating, cold killer that was very much the intelligent titan that his mother was. Perhaps even more so, given his limitless capacity for learning, memory and evolution.
"You....damn you! I will not lose! I will not allow myself to become apart of your pursuit for power! I will not allow you to consume my pow-"
"Who said it was your choice?" Kaijin interrupted, before backhanding Tsuyo across the face, sending the Android staggering back. In a fit of rage, Tsuyo charged forward
"Sacred Waltz!" She said, screaming this time as she moved to assault Kaijin's body with a blur of attacks...except this time Kaijin matched her, his own power raising to overtake hers, his defensive capabilities rising in tow. Despite her terrifying attack speed, Kaijin matched her blow for blow....and then he began to retaliate, his blows raining upon Tsuyo, overwhelming her bit by bit before the female Android was on a rapidly crumbling defense. Finally, Kaijin broke through her defense, hitting her square in the chin with his knee, raised to strike her. Tsuyo's head snapped up, before Kaijin twirled in midair, before planting his foot in Tsuyo's gut, sending the Android flying back.
Kaijin took this opportunity to raise his palm upwards, and began charging a massive sphere of Ki. Again, this was a red ball, with black electricity orbiting the ball of Ki. It kept growing bigger and bigger in size. Until the sphere was larger than Kaijin's hand. As Tsuyo got up, her eyes widened as Kaijin released the sphere.
"Endless Anarchy."
The sphere rose straight in the air before releasing a blinding red light, the light overtaking the training field, so bright it could easily rob someone of their sight temporarily. Even from the observatory deck, Dr. Janus and Scar had to turn away and cover their eyes, to ensure their eyes were safe from the blast.
Tsuyo wasn't so lucky, such an exposure of light overloading her visual capacity, forcing her to close her eyes and cover them.
Throughout the light show, Kaijin then raised his pointer finger and directed it towards Tsuyo. The energy ball, still emitting the blinding light, then launched itself towards Tsuyo. Tsuyo, her emergency sensors warning her of danger, blindly held out her arms in a vain attempt to deflect the blast, but it proved much more powerful then she expected. The sphere seared her arms, and immediately forced her back towards the wall. She couldn't force it back...it was overwhelming hers. Opening one eye, Tsuyo gasped as her arms were forced back.
"I will not lose....! I...have a destiny!" Tsuyo screamed out before using all of her might to hurl the energy sphere upwards, the "Endless Anarchy" sphere colliding with the ceiling, resulting in a huge explosion that rocked the very foundation of the lab.
Tsuyo, partly blinded and spent from deflecting such a powerful show of force, never saw Kaijin's advance coming, until it was too late.
Kaijin's hand pierced straight through her body, his hand penetrating past her chest and coming out the back, her power core in his hand. Tsuyo's eyes widened in surprise as she felt her energy levels dropping drastically.
"Damn you....." Tsuyo muttered
"Join me...in greatness." Kaijin said, before ripping his hand out from her chest, her power core in his hand. With his other hand, he decapitated the Android, ensuring her computer chip would remain intact. Looking as her lifeless head rolled, Kaijin looked up at Dr. Janus, awaiting her assessment.
Dr. Janus was near giddy with happiness," So brutal! So calculating! What a wonderful display! Oh good show! He passes! He passes! Assistants, Assistants! Bring me the head of Android #41 and the power core....we will fuse it into his body momentarily!" Dr. Janus exclaimed. Soon, her beloved son would be even stronger....just as soon as she wiped Tsuyo's memory core, ensuring Tsuyo's defective personality would never manifest itself in Kaijin. She truly had no idea what was already formulating in Kaijin's head.
As Scar and Janus turned their backs from the observation deck. Kaijin turned towards Tsuyo's lifeless head, and raised his left hand towards the head. Tsuyo's head twitched for a moment, before the computer chip came flying from the exposed machinery of the severed neck. The chip flew towards his head, and phased past his forehead and directly into his "brain". Now...he just needed the power core. As the assistants left the observatory room and began walking down the stairs to approach the floor, Kaijin quickly ripped a piece of metal from the nearby wreckage. Sharpening his finger with Ki, he quickly cut it into strips and made it resemble the shape of the computer chip, the piece of metal the same width and length as the chip, and unless someone paid attention, would be easy to misinterpret the piece of metal as the computer chip. With that, he sent the "chip" flying back into Tsuyo's head. When the assistants fused the metal strip into his "brain", he would make sure to eject it as soon as he was let back onto the field.
As the assistants approached, Kaijin closed his eyes and smiled. Soon....very soon he would be released back into the world.
And then he would hunt down that Kai.
And kill him.
