The ferret is also one of the few living creatures that Shizoku cares about in any fashion. She takes good care of Fuzzy and dotes on her when no one is watching.
BACKSTORY:
Shizoku knows nothing about her race, what planet they come from, or who her parents were. As a child of no more than two years old, she was found wandering the streets of East City. It was by a man named Takeda Tanaka, and fearing for the child's safety, he took her home. Married and already having a son of his own, the family looked after the child they named Shizoku. Cheerful, happy, and curious, the family quickly fell in love with Shizoku, and it wasn't long before the adoption became formalized legally. Despite being an unknown alien from another world, she had a family and older brother.
Like most children she spent the majority of her time getting into mischief with her older brother Aiden, and leaving their mother Hitomi to chase after them while Takeda was at work. Because they lived so far out in the country, the children where home schooled, and Shizoku didn't socialize with others very much. This happy family life continued until Shizoku was ten. One night while the family was eating dinner, they heard what sounded like a battle going on outside the house. Upon looking out the window they saw two Z-fighters, a man and a woman, battling in the sky above. Moments later the woman deflected a large ki attack without even watching where it would land, and sent it straight at the home.
Hitomi screamed and grabbed Shizoku, then everything disappeared in an explosion of light. Waking up in the hospital two weeks later, the girl discovered that she was the only one to survive the attack. Takeda, Hitomi, and Aiden had all been killed. The only reason she had survived was because Hitomi had shielded her from the brunt of the explosion. Shizoku was devastated by the news, and spent the next week crying recovering and herself to sleep each night. Then something happened, the pain and loss began to turn inward into something far worse, anger. When a social worker came to take Shizoku to a foster home, the girl's own abilities manifested for the first time, and she set her hospital room on fire, nearly killed the social worker, and anyone who tried to stop her.
From there she lived on the streets, and at the tender age of ten, began to beat the brakes off anyone who tried to stop, or tell her what to do. The little girl was becoming a terror in East City to the point the police had multiple APBs out on her, and were considering bringing in a z-warrior to reign her in, then fate intervened. One morning Shizoku tried to rob an elderly man for money, only to find out he was far more than a simple old man. She attacked with flame and fury, and the old man defended himself seemingly without effort against the girls attacks. He let Shizoku wear herself out, then flattened the girl with a single punch. Instead of calling the police, or hurting her further, then man took her home to what had once been his dojo, but had since closed and was now nothing more than his home.
The man's name was Fujihara, and to Shizoku's surprise, upon regaining consciousness, she was laying on a sleeping mat in the main room with a bowl of steaming rice and meat next to her. The food was inhaled without hesitation as regular meals had become a luxury for her, then the girl looked at Fujihara who was also eating. The man didn't seem overly concerned by her, and she once again tried to attack him. This time the older man didn't even bother to stop eating, and only used one leg to defend himself. After calming down, the two began to talk, and Fujihara offer to train her in martial arts, but only if she learned to control her anger.
Somewhat reluctant at first, she eventually accepted the offer, and began to learn how to channel both her emotions, and her burgeoning powers. For the next fifteen years, she lived with the man who began almost like a foster father to her, but that eventually came to an end as well. Already in his early eighties when the two met, Fujihara finally succumbed to old age and passed away in his sleep. For the second time Shizoku found herself alone. After giving her former master a proper burial behind the dojo, she took the pet ferret he kept, and set out into the world. No longer a wild child, but now a woman with a mission. She would track down the Z-fighter who had caused the deat of her family, and kill her.
