After a long battle Asuka rests up in a private room within an inn where she is being tended to by a Shrine maiden named Izumi who places a wet rag on her forehead and after the damp cloth touches her skin, Asuka begins to tremble and her eyes blink open to the sight of a shrine maiden tending to her. “Ah, Good you’re awake.” Asuka attempts to move her body but the maiden places a hand on her chest. “Try not to move, you’ve had a hard fight you need to rest we are currently attempting to extract the poison from your body.” Asuka then relents and allows the shrine maiden to do her duties. “Thank you, you didn’t have too—ugh…” Asuka groans in pain. “Please Champion be still…” the maiden grabs a small wooden cup from off of a tray by her feet. “here drink this.” The maiden gently lifts Asuka’s head and places the small cup to her lips, which gently makes its way down her throat. Asuka gasps pleasantly after the cup is taken away. “It’s a weak potion created from Senzu extract. And Should get you back to full strength in a few short hours. Your aid against that dastardly witch was greatly appreciated truly the Kai’s were on your side Champion. Now rest…and when you awake you shall be as you were once before.” Asuka’s eyes grow heavy and then after a moment, the youth falls back into a slumber her head leaning to it’s side as she drifts to sleep.
The shrine maiden then steps out of the room and is then greeted by a young man from the village. “Maiden, Izumi! We have trouble. Some of the boys we sent from the village haven’t made it back from their trip to Shinzo forest. Some of our scouts who were sent out looking for them are claiming that they’ve discovered limbs and trails of blood coming from the area.” “What!?” Izumi seems visibly shaken by what she has heard. “Without the herbs from Shinzo forest, we cannot heal the sick, those poor boys.” Izumi places her hands together. “By the Kai…we needed those, with the current epidemic plaguing the children, this medicine is essential to their survival.” The young man looks behind the maiden and recognizes the name on the door. “Is the champion well enough to do battle?” Izumi looks to the young man. “Unfortunately, she’s currently recovering from a very exhausting battle with the witch who attacked our village a yesterday, she is in no position to fi—” as she finishes uttering these words a creaking can be heard coming from behind her, Izumi turns and looks in shock to see Asuka standing before her. “I heard everything…how can I help?” she asks looking to the two of them.
After a short time, Asuka in then seen at the front of the village in a new set of clothing her usual white gi had now been adorned with a red sash worn around her neck like a scarf. And she had also been given a set of prayer beads, and a paper Omomari tag for good luck, hung from the back of her duffle bag.
“We've sewn a fortune tag into your new scarf may it keep you safe on your journey best of luck Champion!” Says shrine maiden Izumi
“Come home safely Champion!” Says another villager.
“The children are counting on you!” Calls out a third.
Asuka looks back at the village as she leaves.
“After what they did for me, getting this medicine for them in the least I can do, I can't thank them enough…" Asuka looks into her scarf and looks at the fortune tag. "Now to find this forest, they're counting on me.”
As Asuka pulls out a map and looks to it for guidance she finds the destination in which she needs to travel and heads out toward it.

639 words "In search of answers." The records were sketchy of where exactly on this planet Lord Frieza died. Some kind of wilderness, was all Mynia had managed to find in the Rangers' reports. This wasn't surprising. The Rangers were scouts, trackers, hunters. They weren't Scribes. Perhaps she would have to send Scribes to pore through the volumes of this planet's knowledge. There was also the oddity of how the known records of Mr. Satan's exploits failed to mention anything about Lord Frieza, and yet made a big deal of this automaton, Cell. And of course his defeat of 'Beavis' the Destroyer. Without a doubt, if Lord Beerus ever found out that Earth misremembered his name, he would be sure to destroy it. At least, that was what she thought, based on the stories his angel told them. And so, having descended in a combat shuttle - non-combat models had long ceased production due to the trying times - the Suzerain attempted to explore the wilderness of this planet. Perhaps she could find a clue about the whereabouts of Lord Frieza's demise. Where Mr. Satan presumably trounced him. Perhaps it was an earlier incident that the hero had decided not to share. Perhaps in his humility, he kept secret his defeat of the Sovereign of this universe, and lived a peaceful, secluded life, until Cell made a show of his threat to the world. And that is why he was most remembered for that particular foe. Truly, this Mr. Satan was quite the figure. It was unfortunate that he died before her time. Mynia would have loved to sit down with him and discuss his exploits. The methods he used. His motivations... For this particular excursion, she chose a place out in the wilds, isolated from major civilization. There was something in this area that drew her to it... a sense of confusion... distortion... One might even say that in the vicinity of this place was some phenomenon that confounded her ability to sense ki. The Suzerain walked. Across grassy plains, under trees, past rocks, alongside a crystal clear river. The enchantments of her cape protected it from any filth. Her armor, on the other hand, required no such thing. After all, a good polish was its own reward. The longer she wandered, the more she became convinced that she wasn't really going anywhere. At least, until she spotted the path. Now that was a sign of sentient activity. It wasn't particularly developed. A simple dirt footpath that could have been formed by decades of people and livestock walking along everyday. Trampled out of the grass, and connecting two places with relatively high foot traffic. Perhaps she would find some answers here. That was when her senses picked up on a force. Too high to be an animal, that was for certain. It was no doubt the power level of a sentient, one who possessed the insight to train in order to increase their power. But for what purpose? Protect? Destroy? Conquer? Collect? There really was only one way to find out. The Suzerain began to walk up the path, following her senses to the source of the energy. Until she spotted a figure in the distance, headed her way. A woman, dressed in what appeared to be the combat attire of those who practiced martial arts on this world. A fellow warrior, then, map in hand as a guide. Clearly, she had a destination in mind. Alternatively, she was lost, and was consulting the map to find a way. There really was only one way to settle this question, of course. That was to speak up. Raising her hand to lift up an imaginary visor - a gesture that in post-chivalrous societies, evolved into the salute - she called out. "Hail, fellow warrior. It appears you are headed down this way. Do you mind if I asked why?"

Having been walking for quite some time now, As break Asuka begins to feel parched and upon coming across a river decides to stop and take a short break, setting down her duffle bag at the bank of the river, and removing a water bottle which she begins to fill up with liquid from the stream. "So how much further?" She thinks to herself as she glances over the map which peeks from out of her duffle bag. "I feel like I've been at this for a while it's kinda giving me a headache." Asuka then begins to rub her temples not certain as to why she suddenly seems to have developed a migraine. But while she was busy tending to herself, she managed to overhear someone calling out to her, she looks over and sees a woman donning an eye-catching set of armor "What in the world?" after hearing her question, Asuka quickly takes another sip of water before shouting back a response "I'm headed towards a land known as Shinzo forest. I'm kinda in a hurry." Asuka replied. Zipping up her bag and placing the map inside. "Are you going there as well? You can follow me if you'd like but I can't afford to be slowed down." she replied as she stood up and slung her duffle bag over her shoulder the charm on the strap dangling across her back as she walked forward.
And while Asuka did want to wait for this random individual to catch up as she was curious as to why the woman was out here herself the young warrior had taken enough of a break and not wishing to delay continued to press forward. And while she was right to make haste, Asuka was unaware of the dangers of the forest itself which was in the domain of a territorial clan of Saiyans rogues, who's forest guardians would prove formidable. Asuka knew of the ferocity the Saiyans possessed but had yet to actually face one. Which would make for an interesting challenge as Asuka had no experience against such an unpredictable enemy. But emboldened by the faith placed in her by the villagers she was willing to do all she could to bring back the medicinal herbs she needed. But her overzealous courageousness could be her downfall.

530 words "In search of answers." As Mynia approached, she paid close attention to what the martial artist said in return. Shinzo Forest. A name implied the existence of a local civilization to name it. There also existed a well-worn road. The density of the population was not important. Only that enough people lived here to give this destination a name.
And any place with a name was bound to be of some significance to these people. The Suzerain nodded. It was settled, then. Her next task would be to follow the path that now lay before her, and the traveler who would journey down this path. Perhaps in this, she might find a clue to the whereabouts of Lord Frieza's demise.
"I am headed in no particular direction," she responded as she met up with the traveler and took on a slightly brisker pace, given the other fighter had indicated she was in a hurry. "I am a tourist here, in search of local affairs. If heading in the direction of this Shinzo Forest means I will experience more of this land, then head in that direction I shall."
If the reasoning seemed overly simplistic, perhaps it was. But in a land of wilderness, where everything was open, the most reasonable thing to do was to follow the roads. Especially the well-trodden ones. These would eventually lead to civilization. If not in one direction, then certainly in the opposite direction. Since this direction went to a forest, then it only made sense that the civilization was down the other way.
While this may have been so, the first person she encountered here happened to be headed for the forest. So instead of 'getting lost' along the road, stumbling about in search of habitation, it was better to associate herself with someone else. While Mynia had no concern for her own safety, given the degree of her own power, there was the very real concern of disorientation.
What was causing this confusion? Was it possible to stop it? Did the answer lie somewhere in the forest? Would she find a clue on the whereabouts of where Mr. Satan slew Lord Frieza here?
As the two continued down the road at a brisk rate, the Suzerain decided it was time to make more inquiry. Questions could only be answered if you asked them, after all. "So what brings you to journey to this Shinto Forest in such a hurry? To rescue someone? To slay a foul beast? Perhaps it holds some rare medicinal herb you are in dire need of?"
It wasn't so much that she read anyone's minds. But traveling to a forest to retrieve medicinal plants was one of several things that a warrior would probably be up to if they were headed in the direction of a forest. Not every forest housed a terrifying beast, and people didn't always get lost in forests, but these cities of trees... forests... were a special part of nature. Filled with useful plants both known and waiting to be discovered. Whether it was for medicine, or an ingredient in a wizard's spell, or a material for some powerful weapon, there was no denying the use of a forest...

As the waters rushed down the streams and Asuka proceeded further into the grassy plains she began to feel kind of light headed and stopped to take a second to take a sip from her water bottle, that she keeps inside of her small duffle bag. “Man...this heat is killing me.” She said to herself, upon finishing her drink she noticed that the armored woman had continued to follow her hearing the clanking of it from behind her as she walked forward. She stopped upon overhearing her ask a question that was quite close to reason as to why she had traveled out “It’s funny you mention medicine because that’s exactly why I’m out here? Do you have psychic powers?” Asuka said as she turned about and let out and look to her in surprise. “And wait you said you were a tourist? There are a lot better places to go as opposed to here if we’re being honest, especially Shinzo forest. if you’d like I could re-direct you to my village if you tell them I sent you I’m sure they’d be happy to have you. Shinzo forest is said to be kind of dangerous, if you wanna tag along you can follow me but I’m not sure why you’d want to.” Asuka then continues along. “I’m Asuka by the way. Pleased to meet you. What’s your name…I take it you’re not from around here? That armor is really pretty.” Asuka politely says complimenting the regal looking warrior's armor she was glad to have the company but was also somewhat worried as she had heard that they were corpses along the road which she had yet to notice. And as the duo get closer to the forest what they fail to understand the power of its Ki disrupting fauna whose properties are the reason why the two have begun feeling rather out of their element. But also within the forest, a terrible force awaited them, far greater than a poisonous fungus.
Within the forest the purple glow of the ki-infused fungi can be seen illuminating the forest grounds, with two muscular Saiyan warriors can be seen in its center meditating, however their faces can be seen twisting and turning in agony with sweat beading down their foreheads, With some of the fauna having bite marks upon them, the warriors had consumed the mystical fungus and had been attempting to obtain some form of power from it. However, as it appears now it was having the opposite effect. But after a few shorts moments of the two men writhing in agony. Their veins would begin to glow a light purple color and their irises would also glow a similar shade having seemingly put the power under control. They then resume their meditation, attempting to obtain more power from the mysterious fungus. These two are Saiyan brothers. “Cappa” and “Chino.” Who were sent to guard Shinzo forest by their clansmen believing it to be a part of their territory they do not take kindly to visitors and will not be defeated easily. Now not only will the twosome have to deal with the ki-disrupting fungi of the forest but also these two deadly Saiyan brothers. Hopefully, this new found ally can make the challenge much more bearable for the Champion of Shura village.

671 words "In search of answers." The Suzerain briefly wondered about this young woman's reaction. Psychic powers? She didn't possess such a boon, no. To read the minds of others would be quite the gift... and others might say a tool of tyranny. It was, however, not such a thing that was given to her. The Sovereign was said to have had an almost preternatural skill at deducing people's motivations. Unsurprisingly, this coupled with powerful telekinetic attacks also meant that he indeed owned psychic powers. This ability, however, was not something he passed on to his children. Or at least, not something he passed on to his reasoning child. Was it some sort of test, then? To deprive her of the ability to read minds, and instead, reason out the workings of those minds, in such a way that it might be more useful than normal? This had been something she had thought of many times, and the question of psychic powers only brought the thoughts back. Nevertheless, there were more important things to do right now, such as learning more from her new traveling companion, answer questions.... and find the cause of that growing confusion. It hadn't yet reached the level of discomfort, perhaps because she had been on many battlefields, and exposed to many substances in her lifetime... "I wouldn't say getting one of three guesses correct counts as having psychic powers." One might have taken that as a lighthearted way of saying 'no', but the serious tone with which it was said indicated she was merely speaking matter of factly, rather than joking. "It is simply that rare medicinal plants tend to be found in places of high biodiversity, such as forests. That, and those three guesses are based on my own personal experiences."Rescue a distressed person. Slay a ferocious beast. Retrieve a rare medicinal plant. Yes, Mynia had had many such experiences on various campaigns. While it seemed beyond the duty of a Suzerain to do such menial tasks that could easily be left up to her Knights, she needed to serve as a model, one who practiced what she preached. It was only fair. "I'm afraid I'd rather be in a person's company at the moment," As much as directions to this woman's village would be most appreciated, her present state of inexplicable confusion meant that she might not find her way, even when instructed. "My sense of direction appears to be compromised at the moment, and I haven't the faintest clue why.""Even if Shinzo Forest really is dangerous, I think I can handle myself," with this, the Suzerain called forth her Holy Lance, brilliant bluish platinum glinting in the sun in woven spiral bands. A weapon of tremendous power, fashioned for one who was intended to one day succeed the Sovereign of a Universe. "The true threat is losing one's way."In another flash, the Lance vanished, returning to its place in voids only its master could reach. The young woman introduced herself as 'Asuka', proffering forth the pleasantries of introduction. In return, she received a nod of acknowledgement, and a handshake from an armored gauntlet. "My name is Rhomynia, of the Chief Scholar's House of Fullbuster. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. As you say, I am from elsewhere."Perhaps she meant more than 'tourist'. After all, a tourist, in some definitions, only spoke of someone from the same planet, or even a nearby planet. From another galaxy or universe, on the other hand, might not have been something they were familiar with. Not in the context of a tourist, certainly... When the martial artist mentioned the armor, the Suzerain blinked, and brought her free hand up to rest on the breastplate, in thought. "Yes, this was forged by the best smiths in my country, and has served me well." She gazed at her companion's own attire. "If I'm not mistaken, your garb is also meant for martial combat. It appears to allow for much freedom of movement."The two continued on in the direction of the forest...

“Well alright, I could use the back up anyway just keep up a brisk pace please.” Asuka listens intently to her companion as she keeps her eyes on her focus. As she hears the swish of a blade she looks back and notices the lance that she held in her hands. “Interesting weapon. And that’s one mouthful of a title you some sort of knight or guardsmen? We don’t see too many of those out here anymore.” Asuka says turning backward looking to her companion intently. However, as she does this she steps in something and looking down realizes it’s a thick puddle of blood. She then turns around fully and sees a slew of corpses littering the ground many mangled or deformed.
Asuka got a chill down her spine as she looked to the field of blood in front of her “By the kai...” she quietly remarks, As she continues forward looking to the bodies of the deceased, with a crestfallen expression. “These poor people. They were members of the villages recon team...we must be getting close.” Asuka pulls out a set of prayer beads and recites a small prayer for them. “Come on let’s keep going.” as Asuka trekked through the field looking over the corpses she noticed a limb was missing from one of the bodies and after walking for a few feet she finds a body missing a limb, the corpse itself appears to have been crushed leaving a malformed skin and bone fragments along the ground in a red fleshy mound. “What did this?” She whispers to herself, her eyes twitching and her stomach turning Asuka had never seen something so grotesque before she was having a difficult time taking all of this in. Looking around, even more, she noticed craters and scorch marks on the ground possibly from Ki blasts. Asuka normally a relatively brave girl but this had shaken her a tad yet though she was scared she continued to press onward. But upon taking a few steps a sharp pain rattles her brain. She quickly places her hand on her head feeling another migraine coming on. “Ahh!” She winces through the pain trying to rub her temples to soothe the pain. After a moment she turns toward her companion who had been following behind her curious as to whether or not she was feeling the same effects as her. “Hey, how’re you holding up? Are you getting these weird feedback headaches too?” Asuka then takes a free hand and grabs her gourd of water and takes another sip. “I wonder if the water supply is poisoned,” she says looking to the gourd suspiciously. She continues walking along feeling somewhat sluggish as she heads along. As the duo approach the forest the effects become more magnified which begs the question of how were the two young brothers able to stave off the effects of the forest perhaps they neural feedback that Asuka was feeling was in direct relevance to her power level however if this were true why was her companion unaffected? Could it be her Earthling biology? On that note, why were the village guardsmen she saw on the ground were torn to tatters just what had she gotten herself into?
However deep within the bowels of the forest, the two Saiyan siblings could sense their presence.
"Cappa. can you feel that?"
"I can Chino, do you think it's more invaders?"
"Perhaps it is the Saiyan dominion! They've come for us!"
"We cannot allow them to bring harm to our village!" After a moment a large orb can be seen jutting out into the sky followed by a loud "BANG!" causing it to expand, next came a rumbling that could be felt from beneath the ground, Asuka looked up but was blinded by the light and as she shielded her eyes the ensuing quake beneath the Earth caused her to lose her footing. Upon looking up two massive ape's could be seen standing back to back roaring loudly the shockwave knocking Asuka back into a tree. When she finally looked up after rubbing her head she saw the large monstrosity and was mortified by its harrowing appearance.
"A Great Ape...wh-what!? No! This can't be..."
Asuka's heart raced at the sight of the beast she was paralyzed with fear.

701 words "In search of answers." Corpses. Quite a lot of them. It wasn't an unfamiliar sight, seeing as the Suzerain had walked many battlefields before. However, this appeared to be more of a massacre than a proper battle. That made it no less gristly, but one had to wonder, really. Who, or what, would go through all the trouble of murdering so many people who only wanted to get some medicinal plants?
Animal instinct? Or some true intention? She needed more information before she could parse a logical answer. The Suzerain's eyes narrowed as they continued on. Both in deeper thought at the possibilities explaining the motives behind this ghastly deed, and at the fact that this... interference and confusion... was intensifying.
It wasn't quite a migraine yet, but it had already reached the level of a minor discomfort. It appeared that her young companion, however, had not steeled herself so well against this effect. Perhaps it was inexperience in dealing with mental interference, or a biological susceptibility to this substance, if it was physical in nature.
Either way, this would prove troublesome when they encountered the ones responsible for the earlier murders. Yes, it was not a matter of if. It was a matter of when. If it was an animal, then this forest was its territory, and it would protect it. If it was some kind of sapient entity, or entities, then they would have reasons to assail those helpless people.
And as the two of them were already past the bloodbath, they were even deeper within this mysterious force's land.
"It is uncomfortable now. More than just a disorientation. We might lose our way if we aren't careful." Not quite a headache, nor something that would keep you up at night. More of a heaviness than anything else, but it was definitely enough to slightly bother and keep her from maximum focus.
"That could be a possibility," a third one, to be precise. "It might also be psychic in nature... or perhaps something airborne..." Mynia was a knight, not a scholar. She did not possess the full knowledge of the sciences, much unlike the Sovereign before her, but she knew enough about reasoning and the importance of education to put them as major priorities for her star nation.
Before anything else could be said, however, a bright white sphere flew up into the sky from the canopy and exploded. Given the ki she could sense emanating from the resulting false moon, it was now clear that the massacre was perpetrated by sentient beings... sentient beings capable of harnessing ki.
A few moments later, and a pair of giant apes dressed in the signature Saiyan armor rose up above the canopy. The Scribes had informed her that Saiyans were capable of transforming into powerful Great Apes, which greatly magnified their power level.
This was only confirmed when her companion spoke of them by name. Great Apes.
It seemed, however, that she was not the most encouraged. In which case, the Suzerain would have to snap her out of this fear. Placing a hand on the younger woman's shoulder, she started. "Asuka. Do you not need that medicinal herb? Which is your greater fear? These beasts? Or losing those who you have set out to cure? Come! We fight not for ourselves, but for your village!"
Her message delivered, she materialized her Holy Lance in her right hand and stuck two of her left fingers in her mouth to whistle aloud. Just beside her, reality distorted... bending until it snapped open into a crack, out from which emerged a brilliant white armored stallion.
With no hesitation, the Suzerain hopped up and mounted herself on this steed and took the reins. "Regulus! We charge the one on the left!"
At this command, the horse reared up before galloping on thin air, rising with each step, ferrying its master up into the sky, and aiming for the bright red vulnerable eye of the one on the left. The Holy Lance glowed bright with power, and instead of merely running it through, she would fire a brilliant golden energy beam to soften up her target before striking it with the force of a meteorite. The battle had begun.

Asuka continued looking on fear, never before had the young girl seen something so fearsome. Up to this point all she’d ever really fought were common thugs and humans who’s power level rivaled her own, with the two strongest people she had fought up to this point being a wandering street fighter and an evil witch. But compared to them this large beast was out of their league. However bolstered by the words of her travel companion. Asuka stood up and her heartbeat began to subside, she slapped her cheeks. “C’mon Asuka you got this, this is just like that game you used to play as a kid, what was it called “Saiyan’s of the Colossus.” The one where you had to take down giant great apes as a horseback riding knight.” Asuka then noticed her companion by her side speaking a rousing set of words before riding off of an armored horse. “That had to be a coincidence.” She said to herself. But after a moment she looked to the ape again and gulped not sure if she could handle it but the youth was willing to try. “Maybe this new technique I’ve been working on might come in handy…” Suddenly before she has time to think the massive beast notices her out of the corner of his eye and fires a massive blasts toward her.
Asuka’s heart races but then braces herself by raising up her arms and taking the brunt of the blow knocking her straight through the woods ripping the sleeves of her uniform. However, upon standing up she finds that the wraps on her arms are glowing white, as well as the ones on her feet. “It worked…” she says. She overhears the beast roar and springs into action having her speed and strength now augmented by absorbing the blast and races through the field and then leaping into the air towards the beast “Now it’s my turn.” Asuka then vanishes from sight at the peak of her jump height and appears on the edge of the nose of the beast who fired at her. Taking a stance and throwing out a powerful palm strike that creates a massive shockwave upon impact rattling the brain of her enemy, Asuka then vanishes to the ground where she is at a safe distance and looks up at the beast however it appears that while the blow did deal some damage leaving a large bloody laceration atop the beasts head the damage appears to be minimal. And only seemed to become even more enraged and looking to Asuka with a great deal of frustration “Oh no…” Asuka thinks to herself as the great ape lifts up it’s massive building-sized foot and prepared the Crush Asuka, however with the last bit of absorbed energy Asuka took a few steps back but once the beasts foot hit the ground, the youth is blasted back by the gust of wind created by the impact of the shockwave, smashing into a tree. “Dang it…no good!” she then looks out witnessing Mynia combat the other great ape who seemed to be having his hands full with her onslaught.
"Dominion Dog! You will not harm our people we are free of you!"
He shouts spewing a slew of ki waves out his mouth. Each one aimed at the horse riding combatant each shot aimed in a rather reckless and erratic manner, due to his vision being impaired by the blast.
"Cappa and I will see to your destruction!"
After finishing his barrage of attacks he let out a roar of frustration, producing a large shockwave in an attempt to knock Mynia off of her steed.
"The Fava clan will live on! Free from dominion tyranny!"

938 words "In search of answers." In the heat of battle, it was a key factor to keep a tight focus on yourself, your allies, and your objective. And while for most people, it was a challenge to spread the focus to all three elements when such a great distance separated them, she possessed what amounted to a metaphorical eagle's eye. All she needed to do was to sense that familiar power that flowed through her companion, and how it fared, to see if she was alright.
Even as the White Horseman dashed across the sky, she could feel surges, dips, ups, and downs, as Asuka struggled, succeeded, and took on damage from her personal engagement. Her focus remained on her foe, however, the hulking Great Ape stomping through the forest without the difficulty one would expect from being so huge. It seemed that size was not a detriment to their speed, a truly fascinating observation.
Still, this nonsense he spewed from his mouth was almost as terrible as the "bad breath" that it entailed in the form of gigantic ki blasts. Clumsy and uncoordinated. Flying past with some of the worst aim she had ever seen. Likely a result of some sort of mental pollution of sorts, that had corrupted his thinking. The madness was as palpable as his words, and almost as laughable.
Always a valid tactic in warfare was combat of the psychological nature. Especially if your opponent was already slightly unhinged. This one was no threat to her, at any rate, and it would be a fascinating exercise to see just how well Saiyans - even mentally disturbed ones - would react to what some of the locals had described as 'trash talk'.
The Scribes had described the Dominion as one of the dominant military forces in the Galaxy, to which many Saiyans swore fealty. As such, it was a force to be reckoned with. It was an interesting thought experiment. To pit a power that possessed many warriors on the level of Knights against the pure statistics of Albarica...
And yet, she was not allowed to pursue such things outside of thought experiments. Fortunately, she was not her battle-hungry sister Spathrax, who would no doubt attempt to invade the Dominion if given the chance. The key point here was numbers... that same reason why even the intervention of a God of Destruction could not end the eternal war.
There were simply too many of them. And they weren't too shabby as warriors either.
She would have to test the mettle of the Dominion herself later on. For now, though, this would be nothing more than a baseless assertion to see if she could rile them up further.
The Suzerain scoffed at the top of her lungs. "Fools! You fell victim to the Dominion's rule? If so, then my White Empire will easily trample you underfoot!"
To emphasize her point, she tugged on Regulus' reins. The armored white stallion galloped straight into the path of one of the ki blasts. His master thrust her Holy Lance into the gigantic ball of violent energy, puncturing it through and through. The swirling golden vortex of its power spun harder, faster, brighter, until the sphere of power was engulfed in its light.
"If your goal is to liberate yourselves from the tyranny of the Dominion, then your weakness is as clear as day!"
"Shut up, Dominion Dog! We will be free of you soon!"
More blasts, just as erratic as before. It seemed his delusion that she worked for the Queen of the Saiyans was too strong for him to even acknowledge her words, words that implied she ruled a different star nation.
It was pitiful, in a way. If she could force herself to feel pity, at any rate. The heart was deceitful above all things, and the only way to be victorious was to control it. While Mynia had not yet fully mastered her heart after all these centuries, it could be argued that her heart was far more powerful than most. It was clear, then. Her opponent had become mad, as he was blinded in one eye.
In such a case, then, negotiation was in no uncertain terms, off the table now. The only way to proceed would be to break them down with overwhelming force. Rearing up at her command once more, the royal courser whinnied with anticipation of the next move.
The Suzerain tapped deeper into her power and that of her Holy Lance, which brightened as it spun once again, golden energies forming a spiral to orbit the weapon. "To the Earth! Charge, Regulus!"
Releasing all that pent up energy, the stallion surged forth, down at its target, as the light of the Holy Lance grew to envelop them both, transforming into a spiral shooting star that struck the ground beneath the Great Ape's feet. A brief split second of a low rumbling was quickly eclipsed by a violent explosion that engulfed the giant beast and everything within twenty feet of him.
Dirt, wood, and trees were vaporized. Rock was blown up into the air. As if a golden volcano erupted from underneath. When it subsided and the dust settled, a neighing horse and its Knight stood atop the prostrate, unconscious form of the Great Ape, its armour and fur visibly burnt from the attack.
Regulus had tasted proverbial blood and desired more, his Master's tight grip on the reins the only thing keeping him from charging the remaining ape. Mynia looked in the direction of Asuka's power, lowered, from having been struck earlier, no doubt. "This one is all yours, Asuka! Show me the skill of Earth's warriors!"

Thought, Asuka had been launched a great distance into the forest her clothes were ruined and in severe tatters, the youth managed to survive the encounter lying against a wooden stump as a trail of collapsed wood from the trees she had crashed into paving the way in front of her. “Looks like I made it…but man it feels like my muscles are on fire…” Asuka stands up to her feet and notices that her wristbands are glowing white once more. “But he sure did give me a lot of ammunition…” Just as she gets her bearings Mynia’s rallying cry can be heard.
"This one is all yours, Asuka! Show me the skill of Earth's warriors!"
Asuka using the Ki given to her by the attack she absorbed dashes toward the beast at a rapid speed kicking up woodchips behind her and leaving cracks in the ground as she zips across the field. Eventually reappearing on the battlefield after exploding out of the forest floating behind to the back of the beast and using both of her feet to kick the large primate in the back of the neck causing it to tumble face-first toward the ground.
“This is gonna hurt him a lot more than it’ll hurt me…I hope…”
Asuka unfurls the wraps on her wrist and extends out her hand and the wrist tape expands to wrap around the belly of the beast tugging at his center of gravity, with the beast now in her grasp of her had Asuka calls forth a tremendous amount of Ki and pulls the beast up from the ground yanking it towards her and smashes it’s spine with her fist, sending it crashing into the floor below. Dust flies up from the ground and a shockwave creates a powerful gust of wind. The beast's body twitching in pain with only a few grunts coming from the paralyzed creature.
“That did it right…?”
Asuka floats down to the ground, nearly crumpling onto the floor as she drops to a knee clearly fatigued from the maneuver. “Ohh man if I hadn’t absorbed enough energy that would’ve surely crippled me…I need to spend more time mastering my Ki…if not I’ll be in a bad spot in the event that I have to use that technique for real.” Asuka’s entire muscular system was throbbing, her head felt lighter than air, and her breathing is more labored than a chain-smoker but with what little strength she had Asuka managed to look towards Mynia. “I hope I made you proud…” She says as her knees buckle while she attempts to form a smile. “Now c’mon let’s go get those herbs…” but before she could send the signal to her feet to begin moving her body seemingly crumbles, and her body lands face first into the ground. “On second thought. You go on I…I think I’m gonna just lay here…” she says her words muffled by the having her face full of dirt shortly afterward she goes silent completely out cold.

457/3954 words "In search of answers." So did the Suzerain observe her traveling companion's skillful attack that most certainly broke the back of the other remaining Great Ape. The Saiyan race had a fearsome reputation. The records indicated that three of them participated in Unvierse 7's Tournament of Power team. Of course, as it were, when it came to such things, it was improper to make generalizations based solely on race.
Saiyans staked their pride on being a mighty warrior race. But clearly, not all members of a race are created equal. Perhaps these Saiyans were the bottom of the pack, which was why they ran away from the Dominion. Regardless, Asuka's attack was brutally efficient, the kind that Mynia would welcome under the right circumstances.
It would seem, however, that the warrior had in the process, pushed herself to the limit. Maybe these Saiyans weren't in the rump of their race, if defeating one for a fighter like Asuka meant a mutual knock out. In this way, one might consider the possibility that the Suzerain was beginning to lose her assessment of certain standards that were beneath her power. No. That should not have been the case. She would have to pay more attention to the abilities of those surrounding her.
Approaching her traveling companion in the last moments of consciousness, she would nod in affirmation. "Your skill is impressive, Asuka. And you have done very well in eliminating this obstacle." Slowly, the young woman's eyes shut.
The Suzerain would pick her up and set the unconscious body atop the saddle of her steed. "And now, we shall continue on our quest to procure those herbs your village requires..."
Easier said than done. Aside from the fact that her headache had grown more prominent the deeper she went into the forest, the disorientation that kept her from finding the way... Well... she had no idea what this herb looked like at all. What was the most rational thing to do, then?
Perhaps to wait for her to awaken. But one must also consider the contexts. Time was of the essence. And so the superior option would be to spend the waiting time picking unfamiliar herbs by herself. Once Asuka awakened, then there would be time for her to identify which one was the specific medicinal plant that she required.
The risk, of course, was that if this malaise they were currently experiencing was the result of a plant, then one of these plants might be the cause, and they could be continuously inhaling the dangerous agent.
But it was a risk she would have to take. Nodding to herself, the Suzerain took her steed, upon which she placed her traveling companion, and then wandered into the forest, plucking whatever herb seemed unusual...

Having been utterly exhausted from having to put such a massive amount of energy in order to utilize her new technique, Asuka laid on the ground utterly winded, after some time had passed she managed to come too, but was quite delirious her body still yet to fully recover it would seem, however despite this after a quick swig of water from her gourd, she was able to stand with relative ease. She looked about and checked her surroundings and noticed that Mynia’s steed was still present but Mynia herself was gone upon looking to the ground she had noticed that Mynia’s boots had left footprints leading into the forest. “She must’ve went ahead to retrieve the herb…but wait…she won’t know what to look for I’d better go after her.” Instantly she turned about and made her way into the forest under the assumption that Mynia could find herself in a great deal of trouble provided she was exposed to the elements of the forest for too long “I was so distracted by the apes I forgot to tell her all about the herb I was sent to find, the Nikko Flower.” The Nikko flower or “sunshine flower.” As it is called by the Shuran villagers is a powerful herb that has small deposits of Ki within them that can help counter the effects of bacteria by using the Ki within the one consuming or ingesting it to accelerate it’s natural healing factor however it must only be delivered in small doses as too much of it could potentially cause poisoning much like what Asuka and Mynia experienced earlier. However, a normal Nikko flower could only produce enough ki to knock someone out to have such effects linger over such a long distance is a tad unusual perhaps something else could be at work.
Asuka then heads inside of the forest in order to find her comrade. “Mynia! Where are you?” out of the blue she then spots a blonde haired girl wearing a snapback hat. “Bridget…what’re you doing here…?” Bridget looks back at Asuka who cracks her knuckles. “Ready for round 2…?” Asuka seems baffled uncertain as to why her rival would appear in such an out of place location when suddenly the environment around her begins to change into an arena with Asuka and Bridget in the center of a ring. “Wha…what’s going on here.” Bridget walks up to Asuka. “No draws this time…looks like your down for the count…” Bridget then pulls back a fist in order to swing at Asuka, within this same moment as Asuka tries to move her arm to defend herself she falls to a knee as the pain of her weakened muscles come rushing back, Asuka’s body collapses which causes Bridget to miss. “What the!? Hey hold still!” Bridget then lifts up her foot preparing to smash it down on Asuka’s head, Asuka looks up as she sees the sole of the boot ready to crush her underfoot when suddenly Bridget disappears vanishing from top to bottom along with the arena venue, it had been an illusion all along. However the purple haze that surrounded the forest had faded and the forest itself had changed from it’s dark green outward appearance to a beauteous forest filled to the brim with white Nikko Flowers, and as the flowers bloomed Asuka had noticed that her migraine too had faded as well. And as she turned about to lie on her back which was all she could do. She noticed two individuals standing over her in garb similar to the ones the great apes they had just fought wore. “What the…” before Asuka could say more she had succumb once again to the pain of her wounds whose effects had been exacerbated by attempting to use her muscles before they had healed making the pain even worse then before and as result she had torn the muscles in her body rather than simply strained them and with all of that searing pain in her body Asuka’s body had gone into immediate shock to spare her of the pain. But with these two looming figures over her…what would be her fate, perhaps Mynia could intervene provided she too was freed from the effects of the forest much like Asuka herself was.
“Impossible a warrior with a miniscule power level such as hers couldn’t have done this.” Said one of the men.
“I see then there is an even stronger power at work here…either way we cannot suffer intruders into our forest.”
"Agreed."

666/4620 words "In search of answers." Rhomynia stared down at the unimposing young man standing in front of her, surrounded by beautiful white forest flowers. Hair and eyes as dark as the longcoat draped over his shoulders and the blade he wielded in his hand. While most people wouldn't think twice about his nondescript nature, she understood the reality behind this apparently innocuous character. "Why am I not surprised to find you here?"The young man only smirked in response. "Is that any way to talk, now? After all, we haven't seen each other in such a long time, Dear Sister.""The only thing we've had in common since you gave in to your weakness is the incubation chamber," the Suzerain responded, drawing her Holy Lance. "Not even the blood that flows in our veins is the same anymore."The young man laughed at her comment and brandished that dark blade, playfully swishing it about. "Your words wound me deeply, Sister. Right to the core. But surely you can't deny that despite my so-called weakness, this has only made me stronger, right?"Mynia charged at full power, a brilliant golden streak that dashed across the forest grass and vaporizing anything caught in her path. "This abominable force that wields you might be power, but it is not strength if you haven't earned it!"Her 'brother' parried the joust, ever so slightly pushing her off course with such precision that she missed him by mere inches. "We never had to 'earn' a thing in our lives. Father created us with our destinies set in stone, our potential established. Think about it. Back when your handlers 'trained' you. Was there any difficulty at all, or did you master your 'training' almost immediately? Was it your effort? Or was it your talent?""I know what I've fought for." Rhomynia broke off her charge as soon as she knew she would miss, and instead settled for thrusting the lance in his direction. He parried it to the side and swiftly countered, his longsword sliding up along the head of her lance and stabbing into her shoulder. She winced visibly, her opponent taking advantage of the opening and rapidly stepping into point blank range as he drew a second sword. "You never earned any of that, did you? Your surrogate understood who and what you are. And so he handed everything to you on a silver platter." The dark man placed his second blade along her neck as his face closed in to hers. "Such rank hypocrisy. You can't even live up to your own standard. Tell me one good thing you've really fought for. One good thing you've given your all."Through gritted teeth, the Suzerain began to charge her free fist with energy. "I'm fighting right now. I'm giving my everything... to become God of Destruction!" Spotting a moment of opportunity, she threw that fist into an uppercut that would be sure to strike his chin with enough force to crack a planet. Instead, it went straight through him. "What the..."The young man only smirked as he stepped back. "I guess we'll see when the time comes." With that, he disappeared, leaving the Suzerain in a clearing full of beautiful white flowers. It was only after checking herself and seeing that she wasn't even slightly wounded. That was when she realized, this whole time, that she felt none of the malign power that one would expect from someone whose Heart was active. That was not Black Emperor Arcuros, the Horseman known also as Famine. Though he was indeed crafty as he was powerful, it was not him who was behind the headaches and disorientation. It was a completely different force entirely. It had to be. Whatever it was, it had materialized the doubts and fears within her own mind. She had to retain her control, lest it completely take over. So what then was causing this? Mynia looked around. There was only her, the grass, and these beautiful white flowers... Could it be them?

As these two men spot, Mynia, they give a small smirk both of them scientist for a shady organization who's nature remains a mystery to Mynia and Asuka. One man a white-haired gentleman with a pair of glasses the other also wears glasses but has black slicked hair. Both keeping their bespectacled eyes on Mynia with the white-haired man adjusting his glasses as he begins to speak. “Allow me to introduce myself I'm Aka and my partner here is Kumo not that it matters at this point in time." the second man Kumo then takes his turn. "But what does that me and my partner here are down two test subjects and by the looks of things you and your friend must’ve been the ones to take them out." Kumo looks to Asuka with a snide look as he glances over at her lifeless body. "Your power level is far beyond that of the earthling over there So I'm sure you did most of the work." He then looks back towards Mynia with a look of obsessive intrigue. "Tell us did they prove a challenge?" Aka interjects casually looking out into the forest at the white flowers in admiration. "They were apart of an experiment of ours you see. We'd been examining this herb "The Nikko flower." for some time now it’s special ki amplification properties were...intriguing so we figured we’d put it to the test." he continues to gaze up at the flowers. "Our hypothesis: what would happen if you took it's already potent properties and put it into overdrive?" he adds, still not looking towards Mynia and looking up at the flowers. "But a job like that requires some strong subjects and what better subject than a Saiyan, strong resilient, easy to control?" Kumo's says also with the same casual and matter-of-fact tone as his fellow "scientist" "For weeks now we’ve been sending small doses of Ki telepathically into this forest and paying close attention to the results. And in doing so we found that upon applying enough ki not only speeds up the bodies natural regenerative functions but can also amplify the effects of the herb to the point where it's influence can be felt from miles away, with a temporary loss of sanity being a minor side effect. But I'm sure you already knew that." Kumo continues he then looks to his partner and smiles. "I'd say this experiment of ours was a success wouldn't you agree Aka?" he says looking to his partner. "What? I'm sorry Kumo...I was lost in the beauty of the flowers. They're bewitching." he then lowers his sight from the flowers and points his gaze towards Mynia, which seems to have grown even more wide-eyed upon looking at her. "But yes, I undoubtedly concur Kumo, and now that we know of how it's power works on a smaller scale imagine what we could accomplish with even larger amounts of Nikko flower deposits, we could even grow our own." Kumo enthused about the idea rubs his chin as he thinks it over. "Hold on a second there Aka...I'd say that calls for more testing..." He then stops to think, looking to Mynia with a vengeful look in the eye. “But thanks to your little interference it would appear that our two test subjects are out of commission. So I think you owe us a little compensation for being the one independent variable we hadn’t counted on.” He then eyes Mynia sizing up her power and getting a feel for her strength. “They seems sturdy enough, her earthling friend might take some work, however, I'm sure they'll do just fine Right Kumo?” says Aka, but before his fellow companion could reply Kumo suddenly cries out in agony. “Agggh!” Aka hearing this looks back at his fellow scientist sharply turning his head back towards the sounds of the chaos. “What the--!? Hey... Aka y-your chest!?” says the white-haired scientist as he looks on in horror at the sight of the grisly hole burned through his partner's chest along with the blackening of his flesh as it’s cauterized by the wound. “You should’ve never revealed your hand.” Said a slightly fatigued voice.,as Kumo examined the hole by placing his hand against it and then falling to the ground like a tree that had just been cut down. “Impossible!” the first scientist thought as he spotted Cappa out of the corner of his eye. The resilient Saiyan was in fact still alive but not in the best shape, lying on his belly with an outstretched hand, fizzling with steam from the hot blast of plasma he just fired off. “I’ll make you pay for what you did to my brother and I!” Aka with barely has any time to react attempts to flee tripping over a branch and lands in front of Mynia Cappa enraged by this charges another blast of ki in his palms. "Turn to dust!" he cries as he fires off the bolt that instantly vaporizes the scientist into a pile of dust upon contact. “Bastard.” He quietly says as he looks on at the cinders of Aka's body. After a moment he passes out and there is a silence and a single Nikko flower lands on the ground undisturbed soon after Chino enters into the forest, hand over his right eye which is covered in blood from the injury he suffered earlier in battle, he walks past his brother and first towards Mynia standing directly in front of her with nothing but the flower between them "Thank you." he says, as he removes his hand from his eye allowing him to have both hands free in order to deliver a proper bow of respect and apology. Afterward, he turns and tends to his brother lifting up his body and hoisting his brother's arm over his shoulder as he walks out of the forest, however, just before he leaves he pauses to say one last thing to Mynia. "That flower...take it and as many more as you need...use it to heal your friend, and besides after all we've done neither my brother nor I deserve it." He says "Him being crippled and me losing my eye is a reward enough." he then exits the forest, with his brother over his shoulder. 𝕸𝖞𝖓𝖎𝖆(WC: 1,065 words.) (WC Total: 5,313)

811/5431words "In search of answers." Mynia stared coldly at the two new suspects who appeared. From their attire, scientists. From their words, the puppet masters behind this little charade. Were it not for the fact that she still needed to find the curative herb in question, she would have instantly vaporized them for being nuisances.
What science they researched was clearly in the realm of mental interference, and it would have been a simple matter to extract any notes they had from their charred remains after. That being said, had acquiring this research been her first priority, it would have been far more practical to simply threaten them.
At the very least, they seemed to be capable of telling that she was rather powerful.
They had absolutely no idea.
That these insects would dare demand compensation from someone far beyond their petty affairs was fascinating. Was it because they were unaware of just what exactly had ruined their experiment? Were they actually significantly more powerful, but merely concealing it? Or did they simply not care?
One would have to wonder what kind of arrogance, idiocy, or madness one would have to possess to demand some form of reparation from someone who did not even register them as specks. And yet they did so.
"Were I capable of being amused, I would be laughing at this sheer insolent audacity." Beyond their notice, but certainly within hers, a faint power level rose. "Instead, I would proffer that you take your little science fair experiment elsewhere, because I have no time for such childish pursuits."
Empty words, one might add. Mere fluff to distract them further, until, surely enough, vengeance came from behind. If there was anything to be learned about test subjects for such things as mental interference, it would be that one would be safe to bet on how it would be foolish to step down into the testing area without sufficient security.
Or without a sufficient power level. One or the other.
"Though it seems you have ignored your own safety protocols at your own peril."
As the broken Saiyans revealed themselves in thanks and paid them in return, the Suzerain could only nod. "Your strength is impressive. Do not think that this is where it ends. Receive this freedom with joy. Go and begin anew."
Whether her words meant anything to them or not did not matter. She had spoken her piece, and assured them that any warrior worth their scars should continue on. For now, there were more important issues to deal with. For one, the application of this medicinal herb, this... Nikko Flower... to Asuka. And then, to bring as much as necessary to her village.
It was rather ironic, one would think. The very object they searched for was the same cause for their trouble. A beautiful flower with altruistic healing properties. But just like a rose with thorns, this Nikko was not all wonders and delight, as it housed a very insidious dark side within its petals.
Nobody ever did explain to her how this plant was to be used. But if the basics of medicinal plants were anything to go by, it should suffice for one to crush the plant in question, and apply its juices to the affected areas.
So did the Suzerain take the Saiyans' parting gift and crush it between her gauntlets, metal plates squeezing the juices out of the beautiful flower. Concentrated fragrance within it wafting up into the air. This was indeed a very pleasant scent, perhaps seeing some additional function as a decorative plant.
In combination with that, perhaps the TekScribes could also take a look and study its properties, that they could exploit it somehow. They were a long way from the White Empire, and any local resources that could substitute for their supplies would certainly be much appreciated.
Mynia spread the juices across the cuts, bruises, and wounds that littered her associate's body. While she was unsure if this would be sufficient, the only way to find out now that nobody was around to tell her was of course, to experiment.
And so she did, making sure to find and cover every inch of injury with this rejuvenating balm. This work done, she would place Asuka back atop loyal Regulus, and proceed to pick as many of these flowers as would fit the girl's pouch, as well as the one that hung from the steed's side.
She had no idea how many people needed this, and so she would be sure to take as many as possible. There had to be enough to be studied and replanted aboard the Eildon's gardens, after all. "This day is far from over, but it seems to me that I've found quite a few answers."
Yes, these answers would suffice for now. Asuka's village would benefit greatly from this endeavour, and so would the Expeditionary Fleet...

As she makes her way to the entrance of the village, Mynia’s steed can be seen carrying Asuka across it’s back as the steed’s many saddle pouches are adorned with the white herb known as the Nikko flower with young Asuka riding along the back of the Suzerians elegant steed the young warrior lies limp on the back of the horse, her thoughts race in her unconscious state some of them being vocalized-- “Gotta...get the herbs. Gotta...save the village…” As these words exit her lips Asuka’s external wound then begin to heal the cuts, splinters and bruises all fading away in a bright light blue glow. She then opens her eyes and looks out at the white flowers resting against the saddle of the horse. “I did it...!” Asuka softly says to herself as she slips into her unconscious state once more. After some time Mynia and Asuka finally arrive at the entrance of Shura village its unmistakable Shinto shrine visible from even the entrance itself. As they approach the entrance a group of men can be seen standing guard, two of them seem to be wearing some form of warriors attire, forest green in color with a similar appearance to that of a ninja each with spears at their backs. However in between them is an older gentlemen wearing a dark green uniform, with a golden badge pinned into the left breast of his distinct kimono golden accents line the borders of the jacket. He was a monster of a man his frame large and seemingly muscular clearly he would have no need for a weapon he was intimidating enough simply standing there stroking his golden blonde goatee in contemplation. These three are members of a militia known as ”The Teisatsu.” a scouting team sent to protect the borders of the village and gather supplies They are rather weak in comparison to Asuka and Mynia but they valiantly stand to protect their village whenever they are able.
“Captain Ozu...look the champion!” says one of the grey garb wearing men. Ozu looks out in the direction of the horse as it makes its way towards them. “I see so the champion has returned...but by the looks of it she’s seen better days, and ah look It would also appear she was successful in retrieving the herbs we needed.” The captain appeared to be a man of very high spirits and an uplifting demeanor it was clear to see why he was chosen with such a strong personality and carefree attitude. “But sir...who’s that woman with her.” the young man asks “Well I suppose we’ll find out won’t we! Welcome traveler. You'd best not be up to any trouble." He says jovially as he extends a greeting however behind his energetic smile a glimmer of deceit shines, his tone then turns much more stern, as he raises a hand into the air. "Now please...state your business!” As he clenches his fist his two subordinates then draw their spears toward her in an effort to intimidate her, little do they know what this Suzerian far outclasses them. As this goes on from behind the village gates a group of villagers watches the ensuing confrontation, among them a group of young shrine maidens no more than 10 to 13 years of age, who were in the process of attending to the chore tidying up the village streets watch the confrontation and converse amongst themselves. "Look it's the champion, she has returned..."
"I hope she's okay who's that woman on the horse, she looks like a knight.."
"She has the flowers look there on the horse! Someone should inform head Maiden Izumi!"Immediately one of the girls nods and breaks off from the group to go find her. "Right I'll go!"
MEANWHILE At the top of the Shrine of Shura Village, a young shrine maiden can be seen reciting a prayer in front of the large red gates leading to it's entrance. “Kai’s please watch over our champion bring Asuka home safely and grant our sick villagers the gift of health” After she finishes her prayer the youth rings a bell and grips a small set of prayer beads within her hands --suddenly the pitter patter of sandals can be heard as another young maiden approaches the steps, winded, from running up such a large flight of stairs. “Head Maiden Izumi..." The young woman stops to catch her breath, Izumi then turns back to face her. "A warrior stands at our gate and she has the champion with her!” Upon hearing those words a look of hope gleams across Izumi's face her eyes lighting up with joy yet her face locked in astonishment. “She has returned did she bring the herbs!?” Izumi cries with glee. “Yes...but she is wounded.” Izumi’s sudden optimism then turns to one of dismay as she darts down the steps. “Maiden Izumi watch your step!” says the concerned priestess, but it was too late Izumi could not be stopped and hastily made her way toward the village gates in order to see to the champions medical needs as well as those of the people. 806/6237 words "In search of answers." A strange journey born from quite literally wandering this particular wilderness. As it turned out, a fortunate coincidence led her to a rather fruitful meeting, and a potentially useful discovery. After assisting with a search for medicinal herbs, which ironically also served as the cause for most of their trouble, one might even say it was an investment of time well-spent.
The Suzerain had gathered a large sample of this brilliant white flower, and sent half of it away with the Rangers. As one would expect of this elite cadre, they came and went without anyone else really noticing they were there. Regardless, they would perform their duty with the utmost diligence, and soon, the Apothecaries would break down these plants to study their unique properties, as so helpfully explained by the mad scientists.
Who were now thankfully out of the way.
As for Mynia herself, she had slathered her injured but worthy companion with some of this plant, and tucked the rest away in a pouch that seemed to have been sent with Asuka for the purpose of gathering them. And so, with the unconscious champion in tow, she would find her way out of the forest, back to the road, and follow it to the village.
The brilliant warhorse Regulus of the Great White Stable carried their combined weight like it was nothing. As one would expect of a steed of fine upbringing, keeping up a relaxed gait as he cantered down the road to a settlement that had what clearly served as a house of worship.
The immediate recognition by the guards of her traveling companion made it much easier to confirm that this was indeed the place they were looking for. Identifying Asuka as 'the Champion', they greeted the newcomer and shifted to a challenge.
A rational response.
After all, she kept their champion unconscious at her back. For all they knew, she had beaten Asuka and simply come here to loot the village. Showing no change in her stoic expression, the Suzerain parsed some thoughts through her mind, checking their appropriateness before finally sending them through her mouth.
"My purpose here is simple," Mynia responded as she stepped off her horse and gently brought Asuka down into a bridal carry. "To assist your champion, Asuka, in delivering these precious medicinal herbs to your village."
Did it matter that it might be seen as embarrassing to be carried in such a fashion? Not to the Suzerain, at least, who was more concerned with keeping her comfortable. A knight's lift was probably not as comfortable, considering how that worked out, but given how it was designed to get comrades off the battlefield - and that could be a pretty big battlefield - was the best compromise for the one being carried, and the one doing the carrying.
"Feel free to distribute the herbs to your apothecaries for processing," with a short, slim note of a whistle, she called her steed to follow as she made her way to the gate, paying no heed to the spears that had been brandished. "As for myself, I shall be bringing your champion to a bed, where she can recover more comfortably. We have just completed an arduous quest fraught with danger. Like Saiyans."
Of the various shrine maidens who were in view just earlier, a new one joined the fray. Judging by what the voices from behind her were yelling, she was one of great importance. More significantly, she held great concern for Asuka.
The Suzerain walked up to her. "Your champion has fought with honour and skill. Be proud that she serves your village, for she will go far as she hones her abilities." She drew a device from somewhere on her person and passed it on to the head maiden. A circular tablet apparently fashioned from decorative white stone. "Should she ever wish to seek an audience at my court, she may contact me this way."
This said and done, she would bring Asuka to wherever they would guide her, and set her down on the bed. If they asked her to stay until they could speak again, so be it. But if they did not, then she was best to be on her way back.
The Rangers, no doubt, were watching her every step, and were already eager to hear her own side of the report.
But such was the fate of a head of state. There was always someone, somewhere out there, who required her attention. As a leader, it was her sworn duty to return and resume command of those who followed. Individual journeys such as this were not to be taken lightly, and must serve their purpose. Any extra time spent would have to be properly justified.
At this point, she could very much say that she was satisfied with the outcome...

Upon seeing the horsewoman enter into the village lady Izumi walked up to her only to see the champion laying limp on the side of her steed, Izumi crestfallen looks up at Mynia and nods. “Thank you for bringing her back to us...please follow me.” Izumi leads Mynia down the road but not before stopping to address her fellow maidens who stood amongst the crowd. “You two, ready a bed for Asuka in the infirmary. I’m going to take our guest to deliver the medicine to the Apothecaries.” the two young maidens nod and remove Asuka from atop Mynia’s arms and carry her to the infirmary. Once the maidens completed their task, Izumi then gestures for Mynia to follow along “Please…” After a short walk they arrive at a small red building, a primitive laboratory of sorts a place where, young maidens and monks can be seen working with several different plants and fauna in an effort to craft various different vulneraries. However one of the Apothecaries spots, Izumi enter the room with Mynia. “The flowers thank you stranger!” she says with relief, however, her face soon turns to one of gloom, as she recalls seeing the champion being carried through the village by a group of young maidens. “Lady Izumi, I saw a group of maidens carrying the champion through the village Is she…” Izumi nods dismissively. “No, don’t worry she’s wounded but she’ll survive, for now I need you to take as many herbs as you can and begin working on potions for the sick. All I ask if you leave behind a single flower for me. We haven’t much time.” the apothecaries look to her and all nod in agreement, Izumi places the batch of flowers on the ground and the apothecaries scramble to begin the extraction process. Leaving behind a single flower which Izumi claims. Izumi then turns to leave looking to Mynia. “Come along, we need to get to the infirmary.” AFTER SOME TIME The duo arrive at their location a large hut among a series of red buildings with black roofs, inside are countless young children and sick adults who are being tended to by other maidens, the ill villagers coughing and their bodies trembling from the strange afflictions that have befallen them. “Please, rest easy it’s going to be alright.” says one maiden to an injured patient. Despite the chaos of the ill villagers, there’s a strange calm amongst the room. The maidens gentle nature giving a sense of hope to their villagers. Izumi and Mynia stand by the entrance, where they are approached by two young maidens. “Lady Izumi, we have done as you asked, the champion is ready for the healing process.” Izumi nods to her “Thank you, I’ll begin immediately, are my tools ready?” the maidens nod in affirmation. “Yes Ma’m.” Izumi then begins her walks through the center of the room. After a moment she arrives before Asuka, who sits comfortably on a soft Futon, she kneels down beside her and in front of her is a small pestle and a single white bottle with a thin sheet of blank paper. After examining her tools she writes the words. “Nikko.” onto the small sheet of paper and begins the procedure, gently pulling apart the petals and grinding them up inside of a small bowl, the stem of the petal seeping out a small purple liquid that gives off a lavender glow as it mixes with the natural ki of the environment. After the liquid had been finely ground into a viscous paste, she seals it into a bottle placing a small sheet of paper around it, the white bottle giving off a purple lavender glow. After a moment she looks to Asuka and gently opens her mouth placing the lavender bottle to her lips gently tilting her head back to make the ingestion process easier. After the liquid enters into her stomach a small reverberance of Ki can be felt resonating from her body. Izumi then clasps her hands together, her hands glowing the same color as the ki from the Nikko flower. She then places them against Asuka’s chest, after a moment, Asuka’s eyes twitch. Izumi sighs with relief. “Welcome back…” she says as she smiles to her resuscitated friend. LATER As Izumi exits the infirmary, she spots Mynia standing by the entrance. “Thank you, Stranger, we greatly appreciate your aid...without those herbs, countless citizens would’ve lost their lives.” she bows to her, “You will always be welcome in Shura village.” just then one of the apothecaries from earlier comes rushing toward her. “Lady Izumi we’ve readied the potions for distribution.” remarks a monk. “Well done, distribute them amongst the maidens make sure every maiden has at least 3 vails, I’ll be inside to help shortly.” she says as the monk enters inside of the infirmary . “Forgive me, but I must be going, but I just wanted to thank you personally for your heroism, best wishes to you on your journey. Your welcome to stay at any inn you choose free of charge, I’ll have one of the monks inform the villagers, farewell and again safe travels. ”
LATER THAT NIGHT Inside of a small hut, Asuka lies asleep having been moved from the infirmary to her lodgings within the town, early in the morning hours before sunrise she awakens groggily placing a hand on her forehead, the moonlight from a small crack in the roof of the old hut in which she dwells shining a light into her room, with the sliver of light crafting a line across her face. Beside her is a note and a tray of bread, Asuka immediately pieces together her situation, “Izumi…” she says to herself. She takes the note she left and begins to read it, the note thanking her and singing her praises for her heroism, and also filling her in on the details of what happened while she was unconscious. “I’m no hero...if it wasn't for Mynia...I would’ve died and so would the rest of the villagers. I failed…” She then looks to the food that she left behind . “Thank you...for believing in me...but I don’t believe I’m as a strong as you need me to be."
Asuka then takes a seated position in her bed to meditate taking a chomp out of the bread on the nearby plate as she steels herself. "But next time I'll do better!" Asuka then opens her eyes, her pupils burning a bright white, as she enters the Shōten state, reinvigorated and ready for whatever comes next. She then lays her head back onto her pillow and returns to bed. (WC: 1133) (Total WC: 7,308) 𝕸𝖞𝖓𝖎𝖆
