Sometimes, a relaxing trip can be great! That's why Raijin chose to seek out the finest winery in the universe, and had begun his journey today to a place that claimed to have made some old Emperor named Frieza's favorite wine, Lord Frieza's Special Blend. He wasn't sure who Frieza was, but if he was an Emperor he couldn't be drinking anything horrible, right? I mean, he probably was pretty rich.
Once again, his naivete about the universe was leading him down a rabbit hole. If he had been well read about the galaxy, he could be made aware that Frieza was an intergalactic tyrant, and a bit of a megalomaniac. Still, Raijin walked into the winery with a slick grin, glancing around like a small child. "Hey, uh, hi..." he began, walking up to the nearby Frost Demon attendant. "I called ahead. My name is Raijin Shinato. I'm here for a tour."
The horned man glanced over at Raijin, looking him up and down. For a moment Rai wondered if he spoke a different language. The Icejin then looked at a list, saw Raijin's name, and motioned for a tour guide to come and show him around. A four-wheeled robotic guide rolled up to Rai, and motioned for him to follow.
"This way, sir. Would you like to start your tour off with a sample?" asked the machine. Rai nodded at him, and the beeping machine produced a wine glass, filling it with a red fluid. "This is our first blend, made for Frieza's father, King Cold. He was gifted this by the Icejin who founded this facility, whom was incinerated later by Frieza himself after Frieza falsely believed himself to be poisoned."
"I-Incinerated?" Raijin stammered out. Now that he thought about it, there were quite a few incredible powers gathered here. He downed the rest of his drink and continued his tour, asking for refills perhaps a little too often...

Emperor of the Galaxy You know what's a good way for a Frost Demon to spend his evening? By hitting the good old bar - undercover, of course, by transforming into his horned Suppression Form - and getting drunk. Well, 'drunk' in the most bare minimum. The anatomy of the Frost Demons had very good endurance to toxins, alcohol included, so even a whole barrel of wine wouldn't get someone like Polaris full-on drunk. Not that Polaris liked to get drunk and do stupid shit, anyway. He was a far more refined type, ordering a few glasses and sipping them at the side of the bar, clearing his mind of the clouded thoughts of the day and preparing his mind for a tomorrow of similarly exhausting work. Who could have thought that running an Empire is very time consuming? After his glass emptied, the Frost Demon stood up, slowly making his way through the bar for a refill. Unfortunately, that refill was never meant to be. On his way, Polaris suddenly received a tough push from the side, which, although coming from a power level lower than his, caught him off-guard, sent him falling to the floor and shattered his glass instantly. What the hell... the Frost Demon thought to himself as he began standing up. A person stood in front of him. Not a Frost Demon like everyone else, much to his surprise. They looked a lot like... an Earthling, with black hair. What the hell is someone like that doing in a bar for Frost Demons - Polaris couldn't possibly care less. He had a lot bigger issues to deal with. "You're going to have to pay for that. And for the refill." the undercover Emperor muttered. "Preferably with blood." (286 words) Defensive Phase

Drinking is all fun and games until somebody gets hurt. Right now, it seemed like Raijin would be the one getting hurt. He had accidentally shoved a nearby Icejin, causing him to spill his drink. Not only that, but he had earlier dropped his wallet. This would make paying the Frost Demon back a difficult task. On top of this, the Icejin was furious and much, much stronger than he was. It was one of those moments where Rai regretted every decision he had made that day, especially one particular moment earlier when he jokingly tried to order a "Wine Cooler". It was not tasteful.
Paying in blood did not seem like the best option. But, from the Icejin's tone it was fairly apparent that Raijin didn't have options here. This was quite the conundrum. Definitely only a situation Raijin would get himself into. Actually, this was worse than the time he lost his passport and got arrested and then dumped in a trash heap.
Much worse.
"L-listen, Pal. We don't have to resort to violence here, I know I pushed you but, uh, it was an accident. I'm sorry." Raijin stammered out, laughing awkwardly. He set his eyes on the Frost Demon, trying to match his angry visage.
Just in case, he backed up a little bit, his hands clenched. This might just turn into a bar fight... At their level of strength, too, it could be destructive. Not to mention this guy was from the same race as that Frieza fellow. The "Oops I Genocide'd Again" poster child.
This could really get expensive. And dangerous. Oh no.

Emperor of the Galaxy The Earthling, as should be expected of anyone who had just spilled the drink of someone of a far greater caliber than him, immediately began to apologize. Sorry, sorry, sorry. But where's the compensation? After all, they don't hand out glasses for free here. If he doesn't pay for the crime to Polaris, then he'll have to pay to the bartender. Simple as that. Unless this Earthling has no money to pay for the glass with. In which case - hey, that's not a big problem. He'll just have to pay with his body instead. Not in any creepy way or anything... Just get his shit kicked in and repay Polaris in the enjoyment of heating up a lesser life form. "Listen, Earthling," the Frost Demon spoke, venom in his voice, and tapped his finger on the Earthling's chest. "You can't just squeeze yourself out of breaking someone's property with a little bit of apologia. Maybe you can pull that off on Earth, but there's different traditions at play here, you know." Alright, let's get this kid to dance. That finger tap on the Earthling's chest was not just for show, you know. Suddenly, Polaris's hand clenched into a fist and linger forward, aiming to smash into the newfound opponent's chest in a simple, though effective One Inch Punch. (218 words) Defensive Phase

It was hard not to feel a little intimidated when Polaris closed the gap between them, placing a finger on his chest as he began to scold Raijin. Under normal circumstances, he would get ready for a fight. However, normal seemed to be far from the definition of his current encounter.
What had begun as an action of scolding had escalated quickly. Polaris prepared a one-inch punch, landing it with a devastating force on his chest. Instantaneously, several ribs shattered like glass, blood spewing from his mouth as he was sent flying. Fate wasn't smiling on him today. From the force of Polaris' attack he was sent rocketing back into the bar, destroying the wood of the bar and shattering several bottles.
Rai tried to remain conscious, grasping at air and gasping desperately for oxygen. His fight was in vain, however, as he faded into the black swirling depths of unconsciousness, even if only for a moment. Even upon regaining his sentience, Rai couldn't even move. He was successfully incapacitated, the only thing making the pain less severe was the healing magic manifesting as white sparks all over his chest and body.
The difference between his own strength and the Frost Demon was nightmarish. Inspirational, even. It was clear that Raijin was at an amateur level, and had ages of training to undergo before he could match a beast like this one. Sitting up in the rubble of the bar, he couldn't help but notice all the people scrambling about and screaming. Rai wasn't sure how he would go about paying off his debt now, especially with the addition of damages rendered to the establishment.
He coughed up more blood and laughed, reaching over to a stray bottle that had landed near him, popping it open and taking a few big swigs of it, wincing in pain. "Th-this is no good. I'm helpless." He stated, his head beginning to throb with a concussion. All he could do was drink more, another question brewing:
"So, have I paid e-enough in blood yet?"

Emperor of the Galaxy Polaris had half expected the Earthling to pull off a some sort of transformation or otherwise reveal that he is more than meets the eye, much like that demoness he had met some time ago ( Queen Kuueru). Make the fight more exciting and push Polaris more than just a little. But, alas, that did not turn out to be the case. The Earthling simply got blown back and crashed into a bar, losing consciousness for a few seconds before stuttering out a snarky response. The Frost Demons and other assorted species barely raised their eyes upon the pathetic excuse for a fight. One of their own beating up a random newbie was a very common sight. The bartender picked up a broom and began sweeping away the broken glass and wood in the path of Raijin's fall. Polaris snickered a little after the Earthling offered that this is enough blood as payment, then responded: "Not yet." Suddenly, Polaris's Suppression Form broke apart, and with a wide, fiery purple aura, his true form with all of its power rose to view. Surely, the Earthling would be able to recognize that he is standing in front of Emperor Polaris himself, right? The people in the bar certainly did, turning their heads, widening their eyes and stepping back. "I'm going to give you a choice." Polaris spoke, staring directly into Raijin's eyes and slowly advancing forward. "Either you make your way to the nearest Imperial Recruitment Station and apply to join the army of the First Galactic Empire. Or you get a one way ticket to King Yemma. Your choice." (266 words)

Power is a strange thing. It can make people do things they never would. When Raijin saw Polaris' strength reveal itself to him, his eyes widened in fear and admiration. To this point, he had seen some strong warriors but this... the Icejin was on a different level. Jealousy bloomed in his heart, as he narrowed his eyes. This was life or death, now. Here he had been, parading around the galaxy like some ignorant tourist.
Here in front of him, though? This was someone he recognized from some broadcast or another he had half-caught on a space shuttle. This wasn't some random Frost Demon. This was Emperor Polaris. Raijin had spilled wine on him. But...
Raijin also saw an opportunity here- I mean, he hadn't been killed yet. Good sign. Here in front of him was a being with real power. Influence, too. Perhaps he'd be able to help him find out more about his heritage- if he could overlook his ignorance. Rai allowed more of his healing energy to bask over him, struggling to his feet. He coughed up more blood, and almost fell back down. Standing was a challenge this injured. It was good to have healing magic, then.
The military? Not what he imagined happening in his life. Still, Rai at this point sucked at fighting. Definitely would, or could be a good move... Yeah, this fight was a real wake-up call. So he made a choice- really his only choice if he didn't want to die.
"...I'll do it." he stated, before grinning boldly. "B-but you should know, I may not seem it but I'd be more useful to you personally, Lord." As he stated this, he allowed the healing energy of his ki to envelop his body, his ribs loudly cracking back into place. Raijin's winced and his strength dwindled as he did this, but he felt the pain subside, albeit only slightly.
"My energy has some unique properties that I have yet to explore. Besides, a life as precious as yours? A healer is important. I think we could benefit from each other."
Raijin felt like he was gambling to speak so boldly. It felt like he was swimming into a shark's mouth and asking him not to bite. But, this moment was life or death. Raijin hoped that this Emperor Polaris would see the potential uses of having a magical being such as himself around.

Emperor of the Galaxy
An interesting approach. After getting one-shotted by Polaris and practically forced into military service, the Earthling began trying to sell himself, presenting himself as a useful healer, showcasing his abilities by mending his wounds and repairing his bones with a some sort of... magical ability. It would, indeed, be a valuable addition to the Imperial Army, if they didn't have the technology to make a healer as fragile as Raibus completely obsolete. A healing tank will recover a warrior's stamina in a similar amount of time and not break after a light tap to the chest, unlike the Earthling.
But trying to make yourself useful is always a good thing. For your own safety, too. You don't want to perish somewhere in the front lines, after all.
"It's not like you have a choice except to find a way to make yourself useful." the Frost Demon spoke, eyeing the Earthling from head to toes as he watched him regenerate. "A healer is only useful on the battlefield, however, if he has some way to avoid getting taken out in the first few minutes of the fight. You, meanwhile, almost died to a single strike, and not even a powerful one. The things I fight every day could turn you into ashes by slapping your wrist. As long as you are this weak and fragile, you have a lot of work left until you can even think of applying for my personal guard."
Motivating soldiers can go a long way, Polaris knew that from personal experience.

Rejection had been expected. Rai didn't see any reason as to why he would accept him in such a way; still, Emperor Polaris was right. Completely correct. If he couldn't find some techniques, or methods to increase his survivability he would die. Especially now that he'd be joining military service. Fear from the decision he had just been forced to make almost overwhelmed him. At the same time, it excited him. Here he was, scraping by. Still, somehow, he was alive.
Life had something more for him. Raijin knew it. He nodded in silent understanding to Polaris, having regained enough of his bearings to move about. A spark flickered in his eyes as he began to leave, respectfully saluting the Emperor.
As he left, he saw the eyes of the Frost Demons in the bar look through him. Past him. Like he wasn't even there anymore. Raijin felt truly weak for the first time. Sobered, he swore at himself for his weakness once he was out of earshot. How would he ever learn anything about who he was at this rate?
To be frank, he was more likely to die. The prospect of that made him clench his fist, as he set off to train his body to its' breaking point. He wanted to push beyond his earthly limitations, and truly master the strange energy he had access to.
