For the hundredth time, Ishmael glanced at the deck of the cruise ship that he was currently aboard. Metal ships and steel eggs that fly beyond the sky. What a world this is. He stomped on the ground and felt it give little reverberation. Completely solid. Checking the skies again for his rendezvous, Ishmael stomped a bit harder, and smiled this time at the reassuring reverberation from the hull. These ships were so solid, so huge, that they didn't even feel like real ships. There were no masts, no sails, and no oars. It was all operated automatically by some mysterious system. A real ship was wooden. It wasn't some sort of floating building like this. There was a crew, a crow's nest, and a pennant for checking wind direction. Taking a look around to make sure there was no one nearby, he summoned his harpoon and hurled it into the waves. It shot in, the rope blurring through his weathered hands, and he kept a firm but loose grip on it. The moment he felt it slow, he yanked hard. The harpoon flashed out of the water in a huge spray of water, a six-foot snapper speared on its end. The harpoon dissolved into wind, and he caught his dinner in his arms. Old habits died hard, it seemed. With another furtive rundown to make sure no one was watching, he dropped down to the window for his room and deposited the kill on the carpet, heedless of the stains. Missions were tiring. For the past weeks Maxsuz would only have a few hours of free time between assignments, which he used mostly to fight strong warriors across the galaxy. The more that routine happened, the more exhausted he would get. Even the Argin being the kolien, he worked as hard, if not harder, as anyone in the Kolídora. But there was no running away from it, since the alkaguírio was the one who wanted to aid the entire Universe. However, he, as everyone, would like some vacations every once in a while. After all, Tauron was a few weeks away from being born, and Maxsuz needed to be presented at that life changing event. So the alkaguírio would endure his hard job until the time came. Specter was once again in those free times of rest, watching some funny videos on the Internet, drinking some coffee and eating some cake, when his secretary entered his office to give him some daily reports. In one of the files it described a new human recruit who was stronger than everyone who had ever entered the Kolídora. In fact, he possibly was even more powerful than the himonus himself. His excitement went off the roof, and the alkaguírio immediately took off after that man. Eventually he got the ship that incredible warrior was and quickly finding with the detection of his árula.
"Greetings, recruit. I am Specter, the kolien of Kolídora and your new boss. I came here because I wanted to test your strength against me. The reports tell you might be even more powerful than I, and there was no way I would not see it for myself. You shall come with me to Seratus and spar with me in the arena of Áderif so I taste a bit of your abilities."

Sure enough, it was Maxsuz again. The alkaguirio first appeared as a black speck on the horizon, rapidly growing closer. Soon, it resolved into the shape of a tall man, a scabbard just barely visible swinging from his belt. Ishmael grinned slightly - this was Maxsuz Argin, the man who was the reason he wasn't currently guzzling barrels of centuries-old wine in a rundown shack by the ocean, and hopefully his new employer. Today was going to be their interview- basically, they were going to do their utmost to defeat each other, and based on his performance, it would be decided whether the whale hunter could join the Kolidora organization. At their previous encounter, the Kolien had explained a bit to him about the Mirror Dimension that he came from, as well as the kingdom of Aderif. It wasn't a huge surprise to Ishmael that something existed out there - magicians had known there was some secret in mirrors for as long as they had been around - but he was excited nevertheless. "Aderif, you say? I'm looking forward to seeing it." Ishmael flew up to hover in front of Maxsuz. Of course, it wasn't flight in the traditional sense- he couldn't manipulate his ki in that way. Ishmael replied cheerfully to his kolien's request, wondering about Áderif. It pleased the himonus to know he could help someone who was on the edges of society and life find some kind of direction and purpose in life. The human's way of getting off the air, however, was at the same time remarkable and peculiar. Instead of simply using bukujutsu like everyone, it seemed like he had a pressure control beneath his feet, so that he could condense the air enough for it to be step able. It was something never seen by the Argin before he met that man, who was full of surprises by default. But thinking it reasonably, Maxsuz' way of flying wasn't exactly orthodox either, as it consisted of lifting himself with his own technique of vynero (Self Vynero). The alkaguírio smiled and opened a pocket of his to take of a small mirror tied to a small chain in his belt.
"Here." he grabbed Ishmael's hand and held it for a few seconds. After letting it go, the limb had a fading red markn of balance. "With this, so as long as I am alive or allowing you to, you can traverse any mirror into the mirror dimension. Now, in which mirror there will you come out from is another story. Just let me set things up. Touch on this mirror so you are absorbed to the dimension. I will go right after you."

Interesting. Maxsuz magically marked Ishmael's forearm with a red marking in the shape of a set of scales, promising that as long as he was alive, it would act as a sort of key that would allow him to enter the Mirror Dimension through any looking glass, though not with any guidance guaranteed. The whale hunter turned his arm around a bit, inspecting the marking. It was simply there on his skin, fading as he watched. There was no pain or tingling or anything, yet he sensed a slight magical signature emanating from it. There was not time to investigate at the moment, though. There were a whole new dimension and a difficult fight to prepare for. Ishmael took a deep breath, taking stock of his magical and energy capacities. The infinitesimal effort to stay aloft was being replenished to his supply of arcane power faster than it was drained, and his ki was topped out as well. All good. In addition to himself, he needed to get his bearings with his opponent. Ishmael dipped his vision into the spirit world, quickly glancing over the Kolien's soul. It was evidently the soul of a leader and a fighter- both a strong sense of self-discipline and firmness with others, evidenced by the clarity of its surface, and yet also with a certain ferocity to it. The himonus stood calm, waiting for the human in front of him to act, seeing as he was thinking too much about how he ended up there and about the upcoming fight. At least one of those Maxsuz could appreciate, as Ishmael proved to be not as condescending as someone would expect a man like him to be. Eventually the earthling decided to follow Maxsuz' instruction. As soon as he touched the mirror, the recruit was completely absorbed by it. Right in sequence, the alkaguírio touched the same glass object. His body was absorbed, along with the mirror for it was connected to the Argin by the chain on the belt. The two warriors traversed through a light tunnel of distorted space-time: the Voltarin. Eventually, a light at the end of it. They left it already falling from the ceiling of the Áderif arena. The kolien landed swiftly on the tiles battleground and stood up while holding his hilt with his right hand and smirking.
"I believe it is time we start things off. As you wished, I can show you the town afterwards, but we should do this before it gets too late. It is almost night here in Seratus."

The pair were sucked into the mirror, and into a tunnel made of beams of light. They shot down it like bullets from a rifle, flying for what could’ve been seconds or minutes. Finally, they reached a light that was shining toward them, a bright doorway that grew closer and closer until- Pop.Despite the brightness of the end of the tunnel, they were deposited from the ceiling of a large enclosed arena, plummeting towards the ground. Ishmael landed in a crouch with a soft thump, immediately rising and walking out in a short semicircle before turning to face his opponent. ”Start? Don’t mind if I do.” Despite the bravado of his statement, Ishmael had no intention of going all out against such a serious opponent. The whale hunter drew one of his sabers with his left hand, flashing it in a few circles to loosen his wrist and keeping his eyes on Maxsuz’s. Then with his right hand, he drew a revolver from his jacket and spun it out to the side, spinning it almost too fast to see. At the end of its second whirl, the gun fired a shot at Maxsuz without stopping, and was back in his jacket an instant later- a hard-practiced motion, but one that had served him well. The single shot wasn’t meant to inflict any real damage, but merely to test the waters and find out just how good his opponent was. The air between them sharpened and cleared magically, bringing light more quickly to Ishmael’s eyes and allowing him to react more quickly. In addition, the water in his blood wrapped around his heart and manifested into muscle, strengthening it’s every beat and driving his blood more strongly through his system. In the meantime, Ishmael plucked his harpoon from thin air and hurled it, aiming to hit Maxsuz’s shoulder and at least partially paralyze it. The himonus took a feel steps back and began to stretch a little his arms, legs and neck before they would be used to their full extent. He took a deep breath, feeling the Seratus' molecules and árula rejuvenate his being with its purity. The ground his feet resonated with energy of peace and balance and it gave him the tranquility and focus to fight such a strong foe with the savagery, yet control the alkaguírio would need.
"I am ready. Go for it." he affirmed, unsheathing his sword and taking his fighting stance.
The human warrior answered the calling and unsheathed his blade as well. However, in a surprisingly fast manner, Ishmael also drew an ancient looking revolver in his other hand, spinning it in incredible speed and firing it at Specter, who only had time to put his right forearm in the projectile's way. The bullet carved its way into the kolien's flesh, but he withstood the pain and expelled it while regenerating. A harpoon came flying at the Argin's shoulder immediately after, however, he was able to dodge it just in time, making it only hook his memento collar and retrieve it to the whale hunter.
"Now that is the way to go! My move!" the black swordsman suddenly vanished in super speed and emerged a few meters above the enemy.
Maxsuz made his blade shine like the Sun with Marêstia, and then dropped to the floor while shouting and holding his sword aimed downwards with both his hands. The alkaguírio landed violently, thrusting his alkálipe through the ground, which launched a powerful Quânion at Ishmael. The Argin followed up retrieving his sword and evoking Ryuko to slash Ishmael with precise and brutal strikes.

Ishmael's revolver carved a small furrow through Maxsuz's arm, which barely seemed to hinder him as he leapt into the air. The harpoon was dodged just in time, carrying away his opponent's collar for its efforts. The Kolien was brandishing his sword, seemingly about to unleash a devastating downward slice with the momentum of his fall, and Ishmael raised his sword in preparation. However, Maxsuz's blade suddenly started to glow with blinding light. A clever ruse- draw his eyes to it with the promise of a stroke, then try for a blinding attack. The assassin was left between a rock and a hard place- look and be blinded, or look away and risk being sliced in the meantime. Instead, Ishmael formed watery sheathes over his eyes, shaping the liquid to reflect the light in all directions. It had the disturbing effect of making his eyes seem like they were glowing white, but he was still able to see normally. Maxsuz slammed into the ground just in front of Ishmael, unleashing a shockwave with his weapon that cracked the floor and hurled him a few meters backwards. Fortunately, though, he managed to stay on his feet and counter Maxsuz's rain of ki-infused blows with a series of two-handed parries. The attacks were powerful, and Ishmael felt himself shifting slightly with each clash of their blades. Finally he found an opening and disengaged, the winds swiftly moving him back twenty meters and opening up some space. He quickly sized his opponent up. Maxsuz was fast and powerful, with crushing blows and strange powers utilizing an energy he had never seen before. That was something to be on his guard for. Ishmael fixed his opponent with a slightly eerie gaze, one that did not seem quite normal. This was because he was gazing at his spirit once again. This time, he could see tendrils of his own magic around it- residue from his spells. He made them snake towards Maxsuz's soul, touching and almost imperceptibly begin to draw from his power, invisible and intangible wires siphoning his power across the room. Ishmael grabbed the harpoon's rope, still trailing across the room, and yanked hard on it. The spear exploded from where it had buried itself in the opposite wall, coming back in an attempt to slash into Maxsuz's shoulder blade with its hook. Word Count: 390

Ishmael was indeed an outstanding fighter, for even against the himonus' heavy offense, he was able to come out of it with minimal damage taken. First, as a quick response to Maxsuz' marêstia, he covered his eyes with what seemed like a layer of energized water, which prevented him from going blind. Then, he evaded the quânion attack by jumping far enough backwards, and finally, displayed an incredible speed dodging each of Alkádio's slashes with ryuko, once more gaining distance from the kolien. The alkaguírio smirked in excitement for a brief instant, but quickly reverted to a serious and focused state, watching the adversary carefully. The human suddenly became oddly silent and still, but the Argin could see the árula parasite coming at him and simply pulverized it with a small burst of his energy around him. However, what he did not count with was that Ishmael pulled his harpoon back at Specter from his back, making it go through his left shoulder. He was now hooked by his foe, and any dumb move could mean defeat.
"Huh. Seems like I am stuck at the moment, but..." the black swordsman stretched his arm towards his opponent and controlled the space árula particles of his near Ishmael to gather and hit him twice in the cheeks.

Incredible. Not only was Maxsuz able to see the brunt of his spiritual attack coming, he was actually able to vaporize it with a puff of energy- both feats the whale hunter had previously considered impossible. The Kolien was truly something special. Fortunately, though, the element of surprise was on his side as he pulled the harpoon, and it managed a hit on his opponent's back. Though his mobility had been reduced, Maxsuz was still able to reach out and manipulate the particles in the air around Ishmael. This was something of a surprise, as no opponent of his had ever pulled that trick before. A sharp blow hit him across the face, making him step back as the next invisible punch flew through the air where his head had been a moment ago. Ishmael rubbed his face for a moment. "That's a neat trick." Still though, ranged punches weren't enough to keep him down. "Can you do the same with lightning?" Ishmael raised his arms to the heaven, summoning miniature clouds around his palms that crackled with energy. Finally, after enough charge had built up, he loosed a bolt of electricity that aimed to strike Maxsuz and hopefully cripple him a bit further. The kolien successfully surprised his adversary utilizing one of his most versatile techniques, although only for the most part. The invisible punch startled the human warrior for a moment, both in shock and pain, but obviously was not enough to stop him. The next move would be to free himself, but first the Argin would have to response to whatever strategy Ishmael would reply the face strike he had just received. In what seemed now like an exchange of exotic abilities for him, the whale hunter decided to show one of his own, forming little clouds over his palms, both coursing with charging electricity. The recruit soon launched a lightning bolt from each cloud at the alkaguírio in quick succession. The first one struck Maxsuz hard and, although not really damaging, it disorientated a lot of the árula inside his body. As for the second one, the himonus ducked beneath it, letting it hit the stone grandstand behind him. Specter then used his speed to stand up in an instant and throw a vynero uppercut aimed at his foe's jaw, and another straight to the gut. Finally, he used his árula around him to cut the chain off the harpoon, and then pulled it off his shoulder, as it regenerated afterwards.

The first lightning bolt had the element of surprise on its side and struck home, leaving Maxsuz barely singed, but visibly changing a few currents in his spiritual manifestation. Something had happened in his ki flow. The second bolt wasn't as lucky, and Maxsuz deftly dodged it, the lightning instead shattering a few of the stone seats behind him. The Kolien didn't hesitate, hurling a devastating uppercut to Ishmael's chin, followed by a ferocious punch at his gut. The first struck hard, and the whale hunter saw stars. He managed to twist out of the way of the next punch, though, and resumed his fighting stance as the harpoon and its rope dissolved into wind, Maxsuz having slashed through the cord with his strange invisible force. "Well played." Ishmael waved a hand, moving his storm cloud to his side. Suddenly, he thrust an arm outward, summoning a blistering wave of blinding frost from it. While vision was obscured by the snow, the cloud moved to wrap around Maxsuz, a ball of dark gas that followed him around and tried to maintain a thin sheet of ice covering his body to hinder motion and make it harder for him to fight. Finally, as water coalesced from the air and began to heal Ishmael's wounds, another bolt of lightning would crackle through the cloud, trying to cripple Maxsuz. Word Count: 226

The alkaguírio's once again successfully landed his first vynero strike at his foe, which stunned him for a bit. The second, not so much, as the human slowly began to perceive the flow of Maxsuz' árula particles around him and evaded the attack. After a quick compliment, Ishmael proceeded to begin his response offense, stretching his arm to his side and forming what seemed like a miniature blizzard. He then launched the technique at the Argin, who had no time to react and was surrounded by the cloud of ice, which quickly began to freeze his body and slow his movements.
"Damn it! He is too versatile! Every time I get out of a though spot, he makes me enter in a completely new one!" the Argin desperately thought, as he tried to fight back the ice beams he received all around his body from the cloud.
To finish it off, the whale hunter charged one more lightning bolt and fired it at the himonus. who at the moment had his attention on getting out of that freezing trap, hitting him inside of it and electrocuting his entire nervous system up. That hostile technique would get Specter progressively angrier to his boiling point.
"Rrrgh! I am tired of this! Ruaargh!!!" the kolien shouted in rage, bringing out his inner power and bursting the icy cloud and neutralizing the stunning effect from the electricity attack with his adrenaline rush.
He immediately after stretched his arms in front of him, with one pulse against the other and horizontally opened palms into opposite directions, and with fingers curved like claws. An árula wave flowed from the Argin's feet up to his hands, forming an orb of black energy, which he fired soon after as a Reacto beam aimed at Ishmael, as he screamed to fuel his willpower and let out his full power.

Maxsuz was being assaulted by a multitude of sources, fighting against ice and lightning to struggle his way towards Ishmael. Then everything went awry. His opponent suddenly summoned a huge amount of energy to his palms, roaring in pure rage and drawing both arms back to form a ball of black energy. Why was it black? Energy was supposed to glow. This ball was pure black, and seemed to be sufficiently massive to slightly pull the dust in the air towards it. The magic floating in the surrounding air was being devoured by the sphere. "Er... yeh don't think that's just a bit too bloody strong for a spar?" he called out, his ancient accent slightly wearing through. The ball kept charging. "Aye, why don't you scale that back a bit?" Ishmael took another step back towards the seating, dark clouds forming around him protectively. Fingers of energy leapt through them. "RRRRRGGH! I AM TIRED OF THIS! RRRUUAAAARRRGGHHH!!!" The Kolien drew his arms forward and blasted a ravening beam of midnight doom that raced across the stadium, chewing up tiles and turning the air into ozone, and most decidedly fatal if the whale hunted didn't do something quickly. At the last moment, he brought up his sabers in an X across his chest, a wall of miniature cumulus clouds forming a defensive line in front of him and blasting the Reacto with an attempt to slow it down. Any attempt to jump out of the way, any lapse in concentration, would bring the inferno through and destroy him. Ishmael pushed harder, electricity playing in a net over the column of dead light, and held it at bay for as long as possible. Water seeped up from the ground and from the air, reinforcing his barrier further. Despite all his efforts, Ishmael was slowly but surely pushed backwards, sliding across the ruined ground and leaving two furrows that led all the way back. When he hit the grandstands, he knew his time was up. With a final push, he hurled himself up and backwards, dropping out of the sky and landing hard on on of the chairs as the Reacto bored its way into the stone wall. The assassin held out two hands in front of him in the universal symbol for stop."Ahhh..." he breathed hard for a second. His magic and energy stores were dried out. The Argin launched his most powerful attack condensed into the human warrior with enough force to explode a mountain, pouring his rage into it. Ishmael panicked with the raging beam coming towards him, and was forced into blocking it with all of his strength. First it was his saber, then a lightning barrier, and finally his árula infused water. And with enough effort, he managed to get out of harm's way, going over the blast that exploded in the grandstands, sending pieces of rocks all over the arena. The kolien slowly calmed down and came back to a normal erect form, starring at the whale hunter, who almost begged for that battle to stop. The alkaguírio then lit off his eyes and banished his arulal pressure, showing a smile on his face.
"Surely!" he jumped to ishmael's front. "I am sorry for that. I have been very stressed recently... But you impressed me a lot. It would be an honor to have you in the Kolídora as soon as possible, proud warrior... Now then... We should get you to all checked up to make sure you weren't hurt too much by my attacks. Shall we?" the himonus stretched his hand to help the human get up.
