HYPERSPACE, en route to Earth.Lute had allowed himself to drift to sleep for a while in the pilot's chair of his ship. He no longer wore his cowl and mask, having no need for disguise in the safety of his ship. It wasn't a very big vessel, closer to a shuttle in size than a large freighter. It had a cockpit, small cargo hold, and quarters enough for a trio crew members. It was an Infiltrator-class scout ship, made by some manufacturer on Tech Tech. He wasn't good at remembering the mundane details. He had Marte for that kind of stuff. Lute had purchased it and had it customized to fit his needs. Being a galaxy-renowned assassin, it only made sense to enhance its stealth capabilities. He also had all sorts of illegal codes installed on its nav-computer, allowing him to dock on planets and on installations he had no right to. The tome was on his lap, held down by the palm of his hand. He didn't quite trust Kuueru yet, but had given her free reign of the cramped quarters, to do whatever she wished. His only stipulation was that she not touch any of the pilot consoles. As a demon, she probably had little experience with technology. Some demons had it, pieces and bits they stole from the mortal realms and brought back with them. But, it wasn't quite the same level of exposure. A chirping sound woke him up and he sat forward, alert and ready. It was only a warning that their fuel stores were getting low. The computer suggested that they dock at an Imperial Patrol facility to refuel. Lute stared at the words, a bit incredulous. What the hell is the Imperial Patrol? He would have to scan the Galactic Hypernet for news on recent events. Well, he had been gone for a little over two years. There was bound to have been changes. But, he didn't know of any empire. Unless, the Saiyan Dominion had expanded out that rapidly. Somehow, he doubted that. They had a lot of opposition. He stood from the seat and used a quick spell to hide the book in a pocket dimension. He headed for the synthesizer, pulling out a cup. It produced a stream of water, filling it to the rim. He put the entire contents of it back in one long gulp. After finding Kuueru, he leaned on the bulkhead with his muscular forearm. "We're going to make a pit stop at a nearby space station. The ship needs fuel. Have you practiced that disguise of yours any further?"

Kuueru had been exploring every nook and cranny of the cramped ship, all the while documenting her findings quietly. Some were littered with old supply crates, other corners just empty. Lute didn’t seem to care much for decoration, especially for such a short amount of time to be in a ship.
The very recycled air of the room felt fresher than that of the demon realm. So far, though brief, her experiences had been favorable. They had been flying for a while, but not long before the woman grew bored of the walls surrounding her. It seemed that a demon’s attention span was fiercely engaged but could drop off spontaneously.
The demon was curious how far they were from Earth, this was the planet that she was most interested in. An epicenter for the most bizarre and interesting exchanges in the universe. She was certain there were more interesting places, but with limited knowledge one couldn’t prove that fact.
She made her way to the front of the ship, brilliant lights streaming past them in the dark emptiness. Occasionally they would come into view of a large sun or uninhabited planet. Kuueru stood in the doorway of the cockpit, looking to the man curiously.
“Ahh, so you do reveal your face sometimes.” She glared towards him with a mischievous grin just as he downed all of his water. Her own arms were folded over her chest; she seemed to feel at ease. Lute informed her of their needed stop, and she only nodded in response. She trusted his judgement, although the fuel sources for these things bewildered the woman. If someone told her it needed power to run, she would assume it was a manifestation of magic that everything moved. Just wait until she witnessed all the robotics and technology the universe had to offer.
“Very well, and then to Earth? That is where this ‘Hachi’ person is right?” Kuueru raised a hand to scratch her temple. She tried her darndest to remember names but sometimes her mind got filled after so many centuries of living.
“Ah, and I’m sure you’ll want to ditch me there and move on to the next place eh? Wonder where you’ll go next? I can hardly think of a place more perilous than the last.” Kuueru took a few steps into the cockpit marveling at all of the lights and buttons. She kept her distance however, she was unsure if being close to the panels would catapult them into a blackhole, or worse.

"Very well, and then to Earth? That is where this 'Hachi' person is right?" Kuueru said. Lute's relationship with Hachi was an interesting one. The wizard was somewhat of a fixture on Earth. For someone with as much magical skill and power he had, he lacked in ambition. Although, during their few and sparse interactions, Lute had learned of the human's ultimate goal. Hachi was the thrall of a demon lord. One far more powerful than Scathran. The name of this demon overlord was unknown, even to Hachi. Still, Lute had sensed the demonic presence within the man. It was a darkness and despair that even made him wilt. That was saying a lot, as Lute was quite the sinister bastard at times. Hachi wanted to free himself of prison of immortality, to pass on as so many had before him. Lute thought it was a foolish notion, but Hachi didn't have a burning desire like he did. Humans were emotional creatures, weak and fragile in spirit. If Lute had to give him any sin, it would be that of sloth. Despite that, the wizard had proven to be a powerful resource. His connection to the demon lord have him an an uncanny insight into demonic magic and spells. Hachi was probably the only being within the Mortal Realm that could translate the book. At least, the only one that wouldn't claim the power it held for himself upon doing so. Based on their conversations, Hachi had been collecting books like it. He sought a way to counter the spell that kept his soul trapped and lingering. A bittersweet ambition. Lute hoped the man did find what wanted in the book. If not, he had made a deal with Hachi to kill the demon lord for him with the power acquired. That was the harder of the two paths, but Lute figured if he couldn't take down one of the most powerful demon lords, he wouldn't stand a chance against the gods. "Ah, and I'm sure you'll want to ditch me there and move on to the next place eh? Wonder where you'll go next? I can hardly think of a place more perilous than the last." "I'm going to look for that hidden city, Hollow. The one steeped in dark energy. I will make it my bastion and use its power to further my goals. Yes, I will leave you to your own devices. But, once I find the location of this city--you're welcome to help me take it."The ship dropped out of hyperspace with a jerking motion. Both Lute and Kuueru would feel a sensation of vertigo wash over them. The auto-pilot took over, bringing the vessel in towards a large circular space-station. The super-structure hung in high orbit around an enormous sapphire gas-giant hugged by glittering rings. Lute gazed at if for a long moment out the port-hole beside where Kuueru stood. "You never answered me. Have you practice your disguise spell? I need you to be able to hold it for at least a half an hour. Otherwise, I'm going to have to stuff you into one of the cargo crates."The front console was beeping and buzzing as they were pummeled with hailing signals from the Imperial Patrol space-traffic control. Lute had to return to the cockpit, dropping in long enough to tap a few buttons on the holographic screen. He sent them some illegally acquired docking codes, marking him as a mere trader. It took them a few minutes to process the codes and send back approval to dock. The ship glided in through the dust of the rings. From far away they looked like twinkling grains of sand. Up close each was a hunk of ice and metal dozens of times bigger than Lute's ship. A cluster of hangars hung off the bottom of the station and the ship slowed to a crawl as it entered the energy field. Landing skids popped out of its belly and it set down gently onto the deck. The Namekian grabbed a different style cloak from his wardrobe. This one was brown as mud and sun-worn at the shoulders and hood. He also picked up a gnarly old wooden staff, the sort that Namekian elders walked around with.

Kuueru silently monitored the passing star systems, mentally her mind was trying to compose the scale of this realm into something that could fit within her head. Unfortunately, the very vastness of reality was too much for one mind to even comprehend. There was a lot for the woman to learn not only about this universe, but the customs and mannerisms of the most populous races—she imagined this would save her heartache and trouble. The demon was at a handicap in blending in already with her mediocre disguise, but her not having the knowledge to back up her alibis could shatter that façade in an instant.
“--you're welcome to help me take it." Lute uttered his plans. Like she though, he was straight to the point. Her back dug into the cold metal of the blast door frame behind her. She was at ease flying through the reaches of the galaxy, mostly due to the fact she did not fear death itself. She was considerably old, if anything, dying would allow her some peace of mind.
“I see. I wonder if that city really has everything that you want and need.” Her gaze averted from the Namekian and towards the ground beneath her. Dust danced along the floor, it appeared that Lute hadn’t inhabited the ship in a while—that or he just was no an aficionado of cleaning. She idly swiped her toe and made a line in the thick layer of grime. If she were to continue traveling with Lute, he would have to hire a maid or something. Suddenly, she snapped back to the question that earlier the girl seemed to ignore.
“I’m constantly practicing it, if only half an hour is what you need then there is no issue. In my latest trials I have been able to maintain the disguise with less magical fatigue as well.” Kuueru answered dissatisfaction punctuating her sentence. She only hoped that this magical manifestation would come easier in the mortal realm. She hadn’t tested the limits here yet; with the abundance of dark energy that fueled Kuueru in the demon realm, she worried her powers would be weak here. There was no constant battery pack charging up her reserves. Yes, one could become fatigued in the demon realm despite the copious energy lingering—but the possibilities for a magical user there were limitless.
Kuueru turned her attention to the cacophony that was taking place at the console. It seemed that their ship was being flagged down, and Lute had to act fast to keep the imperial fleet from shooting them out of the sky. Whatever nonsense he typed into the console worked. Kuueru would live to see another day—joy.
They were flanking a ringed planet; it was like a beauty that Kuueru had never witnessed. As they entered the atmosphere the rings seemingly disappeared as they passed through them. Their make-up was much better viewed from a distance than a few feet away. The pair landed, Lute parking his ship with ease without even touching the reins, autopilot was it? He soon adorned his green body with a cloak and even added in a staff to make himself look more helpless. She got the gist of what he was trying to do, but she wondered—would an Earthling look amiss on this planet? Would a simple disguise like this work? Wouldn’t she need paperwork or proof of their being merchants?
Lute seemed to know what he was doing despite her worries, so Kuueru trusted the man. In a sudden magical poof of dust, the formally hue-less woman was replaced by a similar size frame. She signaled for the man before heading towards the exit of the ship. She was unsure of what hub they were on, but was curious as to why Lute also had to hide his true form and not just herself per usual.
“Ready?” The exit of the ship hissed with hydraulics and decompressing gasses that equalized after they had settled. The demoness began walking down the ramp and out to the hanger. She didn’t stray far from her comrade however. The room was dotted by many a guard, blasters held close to chest. “Um…”

Lute passed a furtive glance around the hangar. The guards stationed here were in uniforms that were similar to the Galactic Patrol, but with subtle differences. They had a u-shaped emblem on their breast. The same emblem also stood out on the blue banners that hung from the ceiling of the room. He had spent two years in the Demon Realm, but suddenly it felt as though he had stumbled into some alternate universe. A blocky android approached the duo, carrying with him a large hose. It spoke in a thrumming voice. "Do I have permission to refuel and tend to your vessel?" Lute nodded. "Yes.""Please give me a half an hour. While you wait you can enjoy our amnenities. You may stay as long as you want, but the dock charges a fee of 50 Imperial Credits per hour." "I understand. That is fine."Lute didn't really plan on hanging around for long. But, he did intend to gather some information from the Galactic Hypernet hub here. His ship had been in the middle of hypserpace and had only had access to limited data while in mid flight. He would be able to dig around for more while he was inside. Normally, he wasn't one for disguises. But, with Kuueru here with him and the book in his possession, he wasn't about to take any risks. At least until he got it back to Hachi. After that, it was a different story. Disguises had their use though. Quite often he donned them to get into places with ease and eliminate his targets. Double door hissed as they passed through a large bulkhead into the central corridor of the station. It was a large atrium with a transpirsteel dome for the ceiling. From the vantage point, one could witness the blue swirling surface of the gas giant and the gentle arch of its rings. A marvelous view, but Lute's sight was glued on the sparse crowd of people drifting about the open space. It reminded him of a shopping center on Earth. There were booths and shops inset along the walls, where vendors sold a variety goods to travelers. A second level above had places for resting and recuperation, as well as several different hotels at different price points--from basic to lavish. Further back, off set by a large fountain with a gleaming statue of a Frieza Clan man, were the pubs and formal dining areas. On deeper levels below were the stations and head quarters of the Patrol. They probably had detainment cells, military barracks, and their personal warship hangars as well. Lute approached the fountain, pausing for a moment to gaze at the statue. It had been cast out of a shiny metal unlike any he had seen, the light sparkling off of it as it were diamond instead. Was this some sort of joke? Had the Frieza Force and the Galactic Patrol merged into some sort of weird abomination. "Nice statue, isn't it?" said a fat yellow xeno (of Dodoria's race) as he wobbled up. He wore expensive robes that were a bit too tight for his robust frame. Over one eye of his beady eyes he wore a monocle. "I'm from New Namek. Can you tell me who this man is?" Lute said. His voice sounded softer, way more solemn than normal. He was acting, of course. The xeno chuckled. "I heard about New Namek being a backwater place. You must not have seen the Galactic Hypernet brodcasts the past few months. That's Emperor Polaris ( Legume ). He's the Hero of the Galaxy, the slayer of Lord Glacio, and the destroyer of the Saiyan Scourge. After he took the throne, the Frieza Force disbanded out of fear. He's going to lead the galaxy into a new era of peace and prosperity." I doubt he caused the Frieza Force's downfall, Lute thought to himself. Instead, he said aloud, "He must be an amazing man to do all of that."The xeno tossed a platinum coin into the fountain and wobbled off without saying anything else. Lute found his way to a bench and sat, motioning for Kuueru to sit beside him. For a long moment he was silent, taking in the sounds and motion. The people here walked around in a relaxed state. They weren't afraid in the least bit. This was a sanctum for travelers, far away from the threats of war. He spoke, his voice a coarse whisper. "Do you see all of these ants? They're pathetic. You could kill them without even lifting a finger.""I bet you feel it now that you're here, far way from the Demon Realm. Your power is slipping, isn't it? It's interesting to think, because you've never lived anywhere else. The power of that place is very much apart of you, it's the air you breathed and the water you bathed in. It took me a long time being there before I realized how to wield it," he continued. "I was reflecting on our spar and I realized something. You weren't even tapping into a portion of your true power."He pointed at Kuueru's stomach, at the center of her being. "I can teach you to draw it out, summon its depths. If you learn, you'll be able to uphold that disguise without thought or effort. And when you need the power, it will bring you to new heights you haven't imagined."

Kuueru kept her composure as they stepped foot into the fray. The various guards made the demon uneasy, she could admit that the illustrious tapestries that lined the walls emphasized the group’s power in the area. She didn’t know much over the ruling factions of this galaxy, let alone this realm. However, with such a display she could feel sure that this was an empire she did not want to be on the wrong side of.
The pair waltzed on, and were met by an android who seemed to want to service their ship. Lute quickly granted it permission and heeded it’s advice. He was off; Kuueru tagged along, chasing the weathered cape of the ‘old’ Namekian. He led the two into the main corridor which was littered with people and merchants. Immediately her gaze shot towards the ceiling; what almost seemed like a painting moved and shifted before her eyes. The deep hues of blues and greens fought against one another in a raging storm that appeared calm from their position.
Kuueru followed, catching up to the Namekian after her short-lived tourist moment. He had stopped in front of a fountain, within it, sketched out of the finest of the galaxy’s materials was the physique of a strange being. An elongated tail and compact body shimmered under the radiant lights of the shopping area. Kuueru could be sure that this was the figurehead for whatever conglomeration ran this show.
Sure enough, a rotund xeno had walked up to them and graciously explained; after insulting New Namek first. Kuueru stood mute, her gaze still fixated upon Polaris’ homage while the two men exchanged words. Afterwards, the xeno tossed his coin into the fountain which was already littered by many like it, both rusted and new.
Lute motioned the woman to take a seat, she nodded and rested besides her companion. He spoke of the weakness of the masses, and how easily they could both terminate their lives if the need arose.
“They are but cogs in the machine. I wonder though, are there people out there who look at us like ants?” Kuueru grinned at the thought of some omnipotent god that could wipe them out in the same manner as them an ordinary citizen. Lute followed up, asking about her power and how it had changed since her ventures in the mortal plain. The air was stagnant here, hardly life energy to fill the gaps. Whereas, the demon realm was like a maelstrom of chaotic power, always flowing through every being in its grasp. Most in the demon realm were at least good magicians or competent fighters; that or they got killed off.
“Of course there is a difference. Luckily I am not without power entirely. I imagine I will have the same learning curve as you did in the demon realm here in this one. I only hope I can overcome that soon though.” Kuueru lamented, her dull purple eyes glancing at the hooded Namekian. He pointed a stray finger to her stomach, at first the girl nearly though he was going to insult her waistline.
“Of course. I can admit, if I am going to continue trekking this galaxy, I’ll need to better learn my own powers, if not only for the disguise--for the power.” Kuueru admitted; a taste of power was sweet. Why stop with a taste when you could have an entire chalice?
“I am eager to learn Lute, I would gladly practice everything that you can teach me of this mystic power.” The demon stared at the palm of her hand, it looked dainty in comparison to her ‘real’ extremity.
“I thought I would figure out what I wanted to achieve here once I escaped, but I feel like a stray dog lost along the cold streets. If people gazed upon my true form they would be terrified, scream, or try to kill me. I would like to be able to freely travel and explore, but I also crave the desire to be feared.”
She watched a xeno family wandering by, a mother, father and small child. They scampered along the pristine floors of the shopping area while looking seemingly worriless.
“I don’t want to fear repercussions anymore. Not for being a demon, not for killing. I want to make the laws, y’know?” The woman stated, her eyes looking to the large digital clocks that hung on the walls. She quietly wondered how long the ship would take to refuel, and what else Lute wanted to achieve on the planet.

"I don’t want to fear repercussions anymore. Not for being a demon, not for killing. I want to make the laws, y'know?" Lute studied Kuueru's palm as well. The illusion she kept up was quite elaborate. He was proficient with magic, understood its depths. But, after being exiled by the Dragon Clan and denouncing their ways--he had stopped his own progession. Sometimes he regretted that decision, but after he had fused with Horn, he had much more interest in the warrior arts. Still, he wondered if perhaps Hachi could hone her skills more than he could. Not that Lute wouldn't try to teach her would he could. The wizard was a bit of an aloof man, detached and seldom urgent in the need to do anything. And the more he thought about it, the more he figured that was a bad idea. Hachi would only piss her off. "Your power is that which you should have little to fear. Our powers combined together are enough to shake apart entire worlds. Still, it's good to be cautious. The darker the shadow, the more blinding the light that grows to rival it. I have but a single goal and I will let nothing stand in my way to accomplish it. However, wanton destruction and chaos--the ways of demons, would be counter productive to that. If you can keep a clear head, I think you will survive just fine in the Mortal Realm."For a few long minutes they sat in silence, watching the comings and goings around the station. Lute eventually rose and pretended to stretch a weary back, continuing the little tour of the station. "Have you eaten? If not, you should," Lute said. He retrieved a credit card his pocket and handed to Kuueru. "This card contains electronic currency, get whatever you want from these stores. I'm going to check something out."Past a cluster of food stalls were rows of public access terminals. Each one was a semi-transparent booths with padded seats and privacy settings. There wasn't anything obvious, no outward console or buttons inside. Instead a small pedestal protruded out of the center. Lute approached and hatch sealed behind him, dimming the glass so that no one could snoop on what he was doing. Lute awkwardly waved his hand over the pedestal and a holographic array sprung to life with full color and motion. Three dimensional advertisements chimed off, most of them for private businesses within the station. They were extremely loud and he dismissed them with an annoyed flick of his wrist. Having grown up on Namek, Lute wasn't the most adept at navigating computer systems. No doubt Kuueru would be even worse, so he didn't ask for for help. Plus, he hoped she would be able to distract her self for a little bit in the shops while he got caught up on events.
In a flash of gold, Marte rolled a coin through his fingers. His back rested against one of the support pillars that held up the large transparisteel dome of the stations. Dozens of folks strolled on by him, passing impressed glances at his dexterity. He smiled and nodded, even thanked a couple for their compliments. He didn't try to hide his presence, but was surprised that the Namekian and the girl sitting on the bench hadn't detected him yet. It had been two years since he last saw Lute. A lot had happened and he wondered if his old master had grown senile. The thing that Lute was traveling with must have been some sort of trophy brought back from the Demon Realm. Lute's stealth ship had been sitting idle on that backwater planet in hibernation. A few days ago it had just sprang to life. Marte had received the signal only hours before the ship landed here, that's how long it took the outdated Hypernet beacons in that sector to transmit it. Still, it was a good thing that Marte had his own digs here. He spent most of his downtime aboard the station, waiting for Lute to come back. Being a teen, it wasn't the most exciting place to stay. There was nothing to do except for play MMORPGs and train in the gravity chamber. On more than one occasion, he had written Lute off as dead, and traveled off to do other stuff. But, something in his gut told him that fact was impossible. Lute wasn't the type to just die on a simple mission like that. So, Marte always found himself back here, and bored out of his mind. He had feared that some pirates had took Lute's ship or something. But, here was the green man in the flesh. It was the real deal. Marte didn't feel relief or even happiness for his return. A cold dread set into his heart, because he knew that things would be happening now. If Lute had the book, that meant--he was going to finally start chasing the dream. If Marte wanted to keep up, he had to get serious too. I'll catch you master, he thought. And I'll make you feel the dread you felt that day.The creature broke away from Lute, carrying his credit card. It pretended to be a girl, but Marte could feel the chaotic energies swirling around inside of his aura. He pocketed his gold coin and followed after her. Lute disappeared into one of the public terminal booths, probably to catch up on things. Marte smirked at the thought of him learning about the fall of the Frieza Force and rise of the Empire. That would tickle the grumpy bastard's fancy, for sure. He didn't approach the creature directly, instead skirting around her. For a moment he stopped to look at a kiosk, acting like he was gandering at a menu for one of the food vendors.

| Her fingers played along the edges of her beige shorts. They hung against her sun-kissed thighs modestly. Her ‘human’ attire was not-nearly as flamboyant or scanty compared to her ‘demon’ appearance. However, so long as Kuueru were able to change on a dime she was content. Maintaining the form at this point was getting trivial, she could even release energy blasts while keeping up the visage. Every day the woman was becoming more confident and decisive with the very energy raging within her small frame.
“I’m not an idiot, I know how these fools would react to even seeing a demon up in person. They have heard so many horror stories of centuries passed that even the thought, meant certain death or being turned into a human statue.”
Kuueru focused on Lute’s back as he rose to a stand. He was good at blending in, but she couldn’t help but wonder that there was a purpose more to his disguise than merely interacting with a bunch of imperials. Did he have a bad history with the group? Was there someone on this planet he was trying to avoid?
"This card contains electronic currency, get whatever you want from these stores. I'm going to check something out." Lute instructed.
Lute waved the small plastic rectangle and handed it to the demon. She carefully took it and shoved it into the deep pockets of her tunic after examining it. It was etched with random characters and markings, she wondered how it could constitute reimbursement for goods.
Kuueru left the man to his business and turned to take in the many aroma and shops that dotted the area. Mixes of fried foods and sweets fought for the attention of people's senses. There were even workers outside of the stands standing eagerly to hand out samples of their products.
“Oh? What is this?” It was very obviously chocolate, but as Kuueru plucked the small candy from a silver platter she felt it give way between her fingers. It melted, her eyes widened before quickly putting the sweet into her mouth. This was a transforming candy that soothed the senses and even brought forth a euphoria. Her eyes looked up to the shop which mentioned ‘medicinal plants’.
“Mmmm! This is wonderful!” There was the initial shock of the sweetness, but it was soothed by a creamy nut butter filling from local trade planets. Little did she know that the chocolate were laced with mind-altering drugs.
“Thank you!” Kuueru took the platter and walked on, quickly scarfing down any remaining chocolates before letting the metal platter clash with the ground with roaring sound. Meanwhile, the attendant stood bewildered before walking back to their home-base to gather more samples.
As she walked she had noticed several clothing stores. Some specialized in sporting goods, others formal wear. Her eyes widened as she found a store for intimates. The demon slipped into the doorway and was immediately greeted by an all-female staff.
“Welcome to Roxanne’s!” The store was massive, being on a hub planet they stocked lingerie and ‘accessories’ for every popular race around. Some bras were huge, some had multiple cups on one. Some underwear had extra holes created for tails or other xeno extremities.
She scanned a rack, looking at a brazier that resembled something as bare as her true form. She wondered why mortals chose to wear such things under their clothing? But, she had the funds so she bought herself a set under recommendation of a pushy saleswoman.
The lady led her towards the register, now was the moment for her to use the card that Lute had given her sohaphazardly.
“Alright, your total will be 60,000 zeni please!” Kuueru had no sense of money. Whether or not that was a vast or small amount Lute had given her the permission to do as she pleased.
“Oh. All right!” She dug for the card from her pocket and glanced at it then back to the woman curiously. Before her there was a foreign language upon a payment terminal. She didn’t know that was what it was however.
“Do I? I’m sorry. I’ve actually never used one of these before.” Kuueru pleaded for help.
The attendant stood stunned, this type of payment had been in effect for hundreds of years now. The fact that someone had no idea how to pay with it would mean they were either extremely sheltered or an alien from a different universe. The latter was probably the only thought the salesman had.
She took the card from the Kuueru and shoved it into the reader. A few prompts came up on the screen which the woman quickly bypassed for Kuueru.
“There ya go, easy as that! Every place you go should have a terminal like this that you just put the card in when you check out. Good luck and thanks for shopping!” The loud lady handed Kuueru a bag with her goods, and the demon soon waltzed her way back to the main area.
Kuueru found herself stumbling towards the food court area now. Many diverse regions all fought for domination over the area, but still the people visited them all equally. All of them thrived perfectly within the melting-pot of a hub planet.
She found an empty seat, there had been something that was bothering her since her split from Lute.
She jerked her head around to pinpoint the flea. Ironically enough almost everyone there was with another person. Only her and a blond male were riding solo today. Her eyes focused on him for a reaction to her noticing his presence. She sat and waited, if he chose to approach her further so be it.
She did not like being stalked, especially not when she was already in a disguise. What this man could want from her bewildered the demoness. She flared her energy at the stranger to acknowledge she were not afraid of his ‘scare’ tactics or whatever he considered them.

Marte didn't go into Roxanne's after the creature, as it wouldn't seem natural for him to look at lingere. Instead, he ducked into a sporting goods store right beside it. The shelves were stuffed with all sorts of gear. There survival suits for off-world space expeditions, camping equipment, and blaster rifles for hunting. The section with ordinary exercise clothes is where he drifted to. He picked out a rack of clearance sneakers and pretended to look them over as he waited for her. She emerged from the shop carrying a bag. Did she buy underwear?"He was sure her appearance was some kind illusion, but the thought of her slipping on panties made him blush. Shaking off his overactive imagination, he walked out of the store--ignoring a sales clerk who had just approached with a offer of help. She probably looked like some hideous fat monster underneath the disguise anyway. The girl went to the food court and Marte stopped by the fountain, hand stuffed in his pockets. The depiction of Emperor Polaris towered over him, shimmering and shining in the cosmic light of the gas giant. As his hazel eyes shifted to where she sat, he met hers. As he gazed into her eyes, he felt something stirring deep inside of her. It almost made him fall over. Power, unrestrained and raw. None of the other xenos and humans in the room batted an eye. It would be a flicker and a blip to anyone with a scouter. But, he felt the depths of her aura, far exceeding his own. There was strange and ethereal quality to it, like none other he felt before. Not at all what he expected from a wretched demon. Marte froze there, paralyzed by just how haunting and beautiful the sensation felt. Jaw opened wide, he realized that he no doubt looked like a weirdo. He ran a hand through his blonde locks and smiled, walking towards her. Play it cool. She won't do anything crazy here, right? The entire trip over to her like a short eternity. Marte needed to come up with a good excuse. He had always been an excellent liar. Came with being a kid without parents. Also came with negotiating and moving Lute's fortunes around. His master had entrusted him to look after his money, to be a steward of his finances. Marte was ahead of so many people his age. Already he had doubled Lute's wealth through precise investments and a little coercion of the markets. Other kids were going to football practice and drinking with their friends on the weekend. They were graduating high school and trying to get into colleges. The normal life had never been a thing for him. He had far different ambitions. "Hi," he said and removed his hands from his pockets. "My name is Marte. I'm sorry if you caught me staring at you-"A bashful look crossed his face and he laughed nervously. "-I guess, I just thought you were really beautiful."He pulled out the chair across from her and sat down. "I'm from Earth. I grew up in North City. I live here on the station. I'm a student, studying abroad. I want to be a astrophysicist, so this is the perfect place for me to learn about celestial bodies and their motions, first hand. Oh and a few light years from here there is a huge black hole. I've done a few expeditions to it with my class to see up close the amazing effects from a collapsed star."He continued to look her straight in the eyes. "I guess when I saw you it kinda felt like gravity. Couldn't help myself but be attracted towards you. I bet you think it's creepy, and I apologize. I just want you to know I mean you no harm."

The warmth of the metal seat beneath her butt irked the girl, the seat had probably had a steady rear in it for most of the day. It only added to the anxiety of starting beef with a man who could potentially be an enemy. She checked his body language once more, luckily, he smelled more of nerves than malice.
Perhaps it was why Kuueru flagged him down? It seemed to work too; with the most content look plastered upon his pale face he waltzed over to a complete stranger. He carried himself with nervousness filling his frail bones, perhaps her beacon of power was a bit intimidating to the young man. She had gotten used to being with Lute and around the strongest of fighters. The demon had forgotten that not everyone carried such power with ease.
“Good evening, I think?” Kuueru glanced up at the beaming blue storm above before shrugging innocently.
“Marte? Did I pronounce that right?” It was almost as if the demoness had ignored the second comment. But, did a cute young man come all the way over to flirt with her? How charming!
“Oh, what a nice thing to say!” An embarrassed laugh pressed from the woman’s throat. She was definitely interested in being pampered with more compliments, but now wasn’t the time. The boy jumped straight into his life story despite her not asking him for such.
Her face grew dull as he went on talking about his reasoning for being there, not necessarily the entire stalking thing. Perhaps this guy was up to no good after all.
“Gravity, eh. I happened to notice you a while back when you were following me. I would offer some advice though, perhaps not stalk those you find attractive.” She emphasized the last word with sinister and playful accent. Kuueru winked an eye towards Marte prior to getting to her next point.
“I didn’t ask to hear your reasoning for being here. Why are you so defensive? Why are you following me? What do you know?”
The woman’s friendly purple eyes shifted to a fierce glowing crimson as the blood boiled deep within. She was impulsive and brash, something Lute would have to worry about in time. The rapid barrage of questions might have intimidated Marte to run away then and there.
“I don’t want to hurt you, either.” It sounded more like a final threat. however the smile soon returned to Kuueru’s lips. She needn’t bring more attention to the pair that she already had.
“Unless it’s both? You came to sneak up on me for covert reasons, but then you fall in love with the target? Tragic!”
Kuueru was like an actor on stage. Her moods swung wildly and vividly. Perhaps one day she would be a psychotic villain to terrorize the galaxy like she was this poor boy.
Of course something like this would happen while Lute were away. She internally rolled her eyes at the thought of his green head. She depended on the Namekian a lot, and it really embarrassed her that the one time he left her alone some stalker came along and ruined her day.
“But, since it’s fair-- I’m Kuueru Marte, pleasure…”

He looked towards the floor, a bashful expression. So she's Kuueru, huh. That's a strange name.An old human couple walked by, holding hands and carrying their shoulder bags. They were probably about to change space flights and board another vessel. Being so safe, this area of space was a hotbed of interstellar tourists. Few of them looked concerned, few of them even know what sorts of things that lurked out their to be worried about. If they had seen the type of things that like Lute, Marte, and this creature could do, they wouldn't view the world the same. He had been like that once, just an innocent kid. He skirted by on the notion that life would be happy and full of exciting adventures. He had adventures all right, but most of them were tedious, boring, and full of suffering. That's why he still enjoyed playing video games so much. They somehow provided him that child like look at the world. Well, a fake world. "I'm not telling you who I am because I am being defensive. Let's be real here for a second. I just want to get to know you a little. I'm letting you know who I am and what I'm doing here. I figure, the more you know about me the less weird I'll seem."He slouched in the chair a little, frowning in disappointment. "You're right though. I shouldn't have followed you around. I'm just shy. I don't talk to many girls and a lot of them are mean to me when I do. I'm glad you're so nice though."A little xeno with hair like porcupine quills skipped by, ice cream cone in one hand. As he moved, he scuffed his feet on the polished floor, stumbling. Marte saw it happe in slow motion, as though the kid were moving through molasses rather than air. The tilt of his hand, the jostle of the scoop atop the cone. It fell for an eternity before it splattered on the floor. The xeno kid stopped dead, eyes wide from the horror of the mess. The bottom of his lip quivered for a moment and tears welled in his eyes. "Oh jeepers," Marte called out. He stood, his chair shrieking as it skidded on the floor. Grabbing some napkins from the holder in the center of the table, he rushed to the upset child's aide. He used the napkins to scoop up the ice cream and gave a reassuring pat with his free hand. "My ike cream fall," the kid said. "I know bud. I got it though. I'll clean it up for you. Run along and find your parents. Let them know, okay?""O-tay," the kid said. He shuffled off, a bit slower and far more careful now. Even though there was little left to his treat. Marte found the trash bin and disposed of the soggy napkins, before returning to the table. "Sorry about that. Kids, right? Clumsy little buggers. Anyways, if you don't mind asking, what brings you out here? Are you traveling with family or friends?"

His reactions were amusing, if it were an act or not, he was truly bashful. Her fingers curled into one another and she hunched forward over the table. She figured she should give this man the attention he stalked her for after-all. It was clear he meant no threat.
“Oh, so--you’re flirting with me!?” It finally clicked with the demon. Perhaps this mortal was just a little creep. A sinister grin spread over her peachy lips. She saw the disappointment as he slouched in his chair, but she couldn’t help but feel bad for assuming the worst from him.
“It’s no big deal, I’m a big girl. I shouldn’t be worried about having a walk through the space port. I should be as oblivious as the bugs around me.”
Kuueru didn’t mean bugs as an insult; it was literally what everyone she knew compared them to. Lute, her former family and friends in the demon realm, and especially the demon kings and lords.
Kuueru watched comically as a small child xeno had an accident nearby. Marte almost as if he were the child’s father, lept into action, his instincts on point for cleaning up a mess. She chose not to get up to aid of course, he was more than mature enough to handle that situation. Kuueru wasn’t the best with social interactions to begin with, let alone with a child.
Afterwards, the Earthling returned to the table and took his seat back.
“You’re fine Marte. I am out here hitching a ride with a friend, we are on our way to Earth and stopped to refuel. I don’t have much family or friends in these parts.” She emphasized the last word, not that the boy would understand what she was jesting around about.
“Once there, I’m not sure what I’m going to do.” She thought on her response for a moment, realizing how weird it sounds to have no idea of what you’re doing. “O-Of course I’ll be staying with a friend for a while at least. They were kind enough to put me up for a bit until I get on my feet.”
She was good at lying, or so she thought. She lied everytime she put on her disguise, deceit was second nature. She huffed and ran a finger along the grooves of the table’s surface.
The demon was already flustered by the man’s apparently brazen approach. He came out with his attraction in the first sentence of their meeting. When she thought about it, she wasn’t used to flirting, much less, interacting on friendly terms with others.
She felt her cheeks flush a peachy red.
“As soon as my friend gets done, we will be off from here. It’s too bad, maybe we could have hung out sometime? Huh?” Lute WC: 463 TWC: 3,862

Lute found knowledge to be funny. The more you understood, the more questions you tended to ask. Finding out all he did about the past two years only opened up his mind to speculation and curiosity. The Frieza Force had fallen. The Galactic Empire was on the rise, already lashing out in its attempt to unify the galaxy. At the center of that attempt was a new conflict against the Saiyan Dominion, who had a similar goal, but unsurprisingly with more barbaric take on it. He stepped out of the public access terminal, his cane tapping on the floor as he walked. Immediately he was able to pin-point Kuueru's unique ki signature. Close to hers was another sliver of energy, much smaller, but one he knew even better. His battered brown cloak swayed with each step as he pretended to have a limp. "Looks like you did some shopping," Lute said Kuueru. "Our ship should be refueled by now. Let us head to Earth."He glanced over at Marte, locking eyes with the youth. Lute could see there was a game being played. And he gave no betrayal of knowing or recognition for the boy. Despite that, he knew Marte better than anyone. The two years being gone, the youth had seen quite the growth spurt, looking more of a man now than a brat. Lute took in his aura, feeling the subtle changes in it structure and volume. Marte had been training, a lot. Without guidance, so the gains were trivial compared to those Lute had made. But commendable none the less. "I see you met a friend," Lute said to Kuueru. "That's nice. You need to talk with more boys your age."He reached out and offered a handshake. Marte reluctantly placed his hand in the big green one. There was a moment of affirmation there, strength against strength. Eventually, Marte pulled back. "I'm glad I got to meet you Kuueru and you Elder Namekian. I hope we run into each other again," Marte said. He stood from his chair and gave her a short wave, strolling off with his hands in his pockets. Lute motioned for her to follow him. It wasn't long before the duo were loaded onto the ship again. Lute discarded his disguise and jumped back into the pilot chair. After some preliminary checks and a warm up of the engines, they were peeling away from the space station and back out into the open black. Lute watched as the big blue gas giant shrunk and disappeared before he calculated the hyperspace jump. The ship flickered with motion and vanished. It was thrust into a spiraling tunnel of motion and light as they punched into Hyperspace. Hyperspace was the single way to bypass the incredible distances between stars. It was funny to think, without such an invention mortal species would be locked to their little worlds, set adrift in fate without the ability to expand beyond what they knew. Rising from the seat he found Kuueru again and sat cross-legged in front of her. He motioned for her to sit across from him and to mirror what he was doing. "We have some time before we reach Earth. During it, I will teach you to access the full depths of your power. It will take practice and discipline. So I hope you're ready."Lute snatched her hand and turned it palm up, staring at the grooves and lines of her skin. ["In the Demon Realm do they teach of Genki, Yuku, and Shoki?"

Kuueru has been so amused with the male, she didn’t notice the Namekian sneak up on her flank.
"Looks like you did some shopping," Lute’s overly altered voice rasped. She flinched and turned to face the cloaked Namekian. He seemed to appear out of nowhere. The Namekian’s interactions with the Earthling boy were short but friendly. However, there was something off about his body language.
“Yeah, I stopped and got a few things.” Kuueru responded, but it was a clear command from Lute. Whatever he had been doing for the past half hour was over and now his time here was wasting.
“Yeah, I am most eager to see Earth---again.” She cleared her throat while making apologetic eye content with her mentor.
“Anyhow Marte, I hope we can meet again someday! Toodles!” Kuueru put on the overly cheerful attitude of a teenage girl. At least that is what she looked like in her disguise. Kuueru shot the Earthling a warm smile and simple wave of the hand as the only form of farewell.
Soon she were ushered off by Lute and loaded back into their ship from earlier. It didn’t take long for Lute to shed himself of the tattered robes and worn cane. He quickly took the helm of the pilot’s seat and started their departure. She would ask what rushed him so, but knew the man would only retort with some brash response.
She sat idly in the small quarters, the day had been long and she were honestly ready to rest for the night. Soon a familiar face approached and Lute found himself sitting before the demon. Her dull red eyes glared upon him, at least in the ship she could relax in her natural skin.
“You’re going to teach me in this ship? Right now?” Kuueru was exasperated. Her eyes fell shut and the back of her hand pressed to a ‘fevered’ forehead. Perhaps she could fake sick and get some shut-eye before enduring more torture from the green-skinned demon.
“Genki, Yuku and Shoki? Aren’t they some demons or something? I’m afraid I may not know as much as you’d like.” Kuueru tried to dig up some hidden knowledge from inside her head, but nothing was coming to mind. She stared at the Namekian with confusion before her shoulders shrugged cluelessly.
“What do they have to do with anything? Wait, demon clan? I thought that was some edgy club, you mean it actually relates to ancient demons?” Perhaps Kuueru were jumping to conclusions, but she were truly curious where Lute had found his own power.
She had been so worked up, she didn’t notice the man take her hand. His grip was firm and abrasive, but as he turned her hand palm up she just stared. It was as if her were a palm reader at a carnival, his eyes darting back and forth upon the folds and divots upon her skin.

"Yes. I'm going to teach you. We still have quite a while until we reach Earth. It's better we use this downtime to train. I sometimes forget demons are creatures of leisure and pleasure. Us mortals have little time for that, if we wish to surpass our limits."Lute released her hand and drew out his own aura. It flickered like purple smoke from his pores, framing his entire being and casting its glow across the ship. He waited until she had summoned her own aura and then reached out, his hands hovering mere inches from her shoulders. As their auras crossed and mingled, they could feel one each other's intent and emotion far easier. A lot of fighters bragged about how the true way to know another was to face them in battle. Lute had done this with Kuueru. Their auras had clashed and bonded prior to this encounter, making it even easier. It was a very intimate way of getting to know someone. Or, at least that is what Lute's original teachers had taught him. He didn't believe any of that. The application of this special sort of training wasn't false, it was just the sentimental nature behind it. Still, tools were tools. "The demon clan isn't an edgy club. It's nothing so childish. Imagine if you would it represents a rejection to the dogma taught by the Namekian Elders. They often call us evil and lost. But evil is an oversimplification of our goals and intentions. In fact, not all Demon Clansmen have had the same aims and goals. It's what makes the Elders hypocrites. They pretend to care about the thoughts and feelings of others. They pretend that their notion of harmony is superior to that of conflict and battle. So, they slap a label, one that sounds dark and brooding. I have embraced it. I'd rather be associated with demons, with people like you, than my own weak race."Kuueru would feel Lute's aura pushing into hers, entangling with it. Anticipating her repulsion to that foreign feeling, he smirked. "Just relax and trust me. I'm going to help draw out your true potential."The closer he was to her aura, the more he could feel a strange muddling of it. It was as though two separate portions her nature were struggling against each other. The energies felt good and evil. No--he paused and closed his eyes, reaching deeper to understand. Not good and evil, negative and positive. As though she were lodestone fused together with another of the opposite polarity. "Genki, Yuki, and Shoki are not demons. They are the fundamentals of ki, the building blocks of it. It makes sense that you wouldn't know of them. Demons themselves come from a diversity of beings, corrupted and maligned. Some are even of the same race as gods, born as bad fruit. At least, that is what the stories tell. Instead of expunging this perceived malformity, the gods cast them out trash to the Demon Realm. I believe you may come from this breed of demon. You are definitely not like the ogres and other wicked monstrosities."Lute began to pull out threads of her aura from the chakras points inside of her. This was latent ki at its finest. Once she felt it awaken, she would known how to tap into it once again. That was how one's potential was unlocked. By force. Otherwise, it required years of training and self reflection. To Kuueru it would feel as though someone turned on the tap of a hot bath deep within her lower abdomen, filling up the vessel of her body inch by inch. "Breathe in and out. Control the flow of power. Seize hold of it with confidence."She probably had not mastered the meditation arts as Lute had, so he needed to keep her slightly distracted. If she concentrated on the girth of ki swelling up in her, she may panic and have it spin out of control. So, he simply kept lecturing. "Genki is the spirit, the vital essence of a person. It is the very energy I'm tugging out of you right now. But, it's only a third of the whole."Shoki is the mind, more so one's focus and clarity. Or on the flip side, anger and madness. If one's Shoki is misaligned, it can throw off their ability to use ki. Conversely, it may allow them to explode with uncanny power in short bursts due to rage. Good in a fight, not good for much else. During conflict, you must always stay focused, always clear headed."The final piece is Yuki, or courage. I hate that word though, and debated my masters about many times before I left New Namek. Look at it more as willpower. Fear and anxiety can make you lose control of your ki. But, if you are resolved and determined, your power will be at its fullest."

He was right, there was a lot of time to train on the venture to Earth, she should probably be using any time she could muster to improve her strengths. Kuueru nodded towards Lute, her hand still in his own until he released it and a smokey aura engulfed the appendage.
She was not sure what Lute was doing, but she had felt a flicker within her being. With a deep inhale the ki within began to bloom and manifest into a swarm. It felt as if Lute were baring down upon her shoulders with his hands, but he wasn’t laying a finger on her. His raw energy was exchanging and merging with her own.
With that she felt the malice within his bones that could arise at any moment. He was an interesting being, but also one to be wary of. But in times like the demoness felt that she could trust Lute.
Lute went on to mildy scold the demon for insulting his namesake. He explained the history of the Demon Clan as well as his role within it. It were the same intolerance that any other religion or creed carried. There was always a dark to every light side.
Kuueru shifted in her seat as Lute’s aura pushed into hers after mingling in the air. It snared her, drawing her in bit by bit. She felt her blood boil at the smirk upon the Namekian’s lips. How daring of him to look at her like that in such an awkward moment. She felt a chill roll through her cheeks, the blush of a demon.
“I..I am relaxed. Jeez.” Kuueru mumbled while trying to remain cool with the feeling of the Namekian diving deeper into her being. She couldn’t tell the difference between her own and his ki now.
“What would make you think that? Do I look like God?” Kuueru scoffed in disbelief, but she continued on listening to his theory. Her face scrunching in amusement as he segregated her from the ogres and other monstrosities.
Kuueru froze, the finer bits of ki now between Lute’s fingers. She didn’t want to move, her entire core temperature felt as if it were shifting. She began beading with sweat, her brilliant red eyes locking onto Lute’s for reassurement.
Step one was the breathe like he instructed. It helped; acting as a dam to control how much ki she were taking in and releasing. She tried to imagine herself rolling with the waves of her ki and moving it like a wave of water. But water became waves, and waves, walls of power.
Lute explained the three words from other, stating that they were the fundamentals of ki. Building blocks every person possessed to improve upon. Kuueru could not confirm how much she really thought about training her body or mind. She was a demon, they had plenty of time to worry about the book learning later. But later never came.
“I see, so you’re saying that someone with control over all three of these fundamentals can unlock their full potential. I wonder what percentage of people even have accomplished such a feat?” Kuueru mumbled to the Namekian as they sit in a meditative trance.
Meditation was something she had never participated in. She could definitely see how useful it was in this situation however. Her body would have been overwhelmed by Lute if she had not equally resited and matched his output.
“I have no idea, what you’re doing to me right now. It, is very…uncomfortable. Could you explain what or how you are...unlocking my true potential? You can’t just do that can you, with a simple spell?”
Kuueru were throwing speculations now, but Lute seemed to be talking to her more now during their meditation than since she had met the man. The intimacy and closeness of this ‘potential’ unlocking tango seemed quite the opposite of something Lute would do. Perhaps she would be better able to serve his personal needs with this newfound power?

A good deal of the power had been drawn out, but the last coiled strands were tightly bound inside of her charkas. Lute could feel her aura fluctuating in erratic patterns, most of that coming from uncertainty. Even the visible glow flickered and flashed. He wasn't as good at this technique as some of the Namekian Elders. Then again, they had long years of practice to master the art of awakening latent ki and this was his first time doing it in earnest. It was a bit of an intimate situation. He was sitting close to her, his hand hovering above his skin. As a demon she probably wasn't at all used to anyone coming this close without recourse. Demons were known to... procreate with each other. But, it was more often than not a ravenous and animalistic mating. Lute had no interest in mating with the demon. His simple biology dictated that. He wouldn't ever admit it, but this made him uncomfortable too. He was a loner for the most part. The only time he came this close to anyone was during a fight, and that often resulted in their blood being spilled. Still, he saw potential in Kuueru. She had enough raw power inside of her to match a legion of demons. And to think, she had just been wandering around the Demon Realm and stumbled into him. Their meeting had been a wild act of fate. Lute saw her as a powerful ally now, one he could shape and mold into serving him in his dream of destroying the gods. Sure, he had repaid her favor of freeing him by getting her to the Mortal Realm. But, he still felt he owed her a debt, hence his aide in unlocking her potential. "For you to understand what I'm doing, you need to first understand that ki resides within points within your body. Mystics call these chakras. It coils and compresses itself, so it doesn't bleed out of your physical shell and become lost to the aether of the universe. You'll find that many mortals call this phenomenon Power Level. It's a bit of a lazy term, a simplistic view with little insight. But, its appropriate. As you train with your Genki, Yuku, and Shoki--it binds tighter and tighter. Power Level has a pressure to it, and once its unleashed you achieve new peaks, sometimes these come with physical alterations as well.
"There is no limit to how much ki energy can compress inside your body. Quite literally, beings like us have unlimited potential. Some of that potential isn't accessible, not without extensive training and meditation. It's almost like a subconscious power. It can surge forth when you're angered or struggling for your life. Usually, it's too late by then. By doing what I'm doing, I'm giving you all of that power up front to control at your will. It won't shock and injure you to wield it, because you'll have felt how to manifest it."He detected the resistance inside of her aura and shoved even more of his own inside, pulling and tearing at last lingering shreds of stubborn power. She would feel a veritable pop inside of her mind, as the rest of it unfurled and rushed to the surface. The hot bath of before, became a tide of lava spewing out of her torso, neck and forehead--all chakras were open. It would burn, it would be uncomfortable but within moments it would cool and hopefully, she would realize what he had done. Words couldn't accurately describe such a realization. Removing his hands from their position, he leaned back and let them rest against the floor. "How does that feel?"

It were a feeling unlike any the demon had endured. The rivers of pain, and yet relief fought for control over her body. His aura was aggressive, but trembles to combat her own manic power. Kuueru let out a long breath, she was trying her best to behave and remain focused for Lute. Anything that she could do to ease this process along the better.
It wasn’t like the awkwardness bothered her. She were a demon from a realm most would trembled before. She had been in worse situations. But her gaze never faltered from the Namekian’s. Her steady crimson orbs focused on his own beady black eyes. Kuueru felt her cheeks grow flustered as she finally managed to avert her stare.
It was true though, Kuueru was not used to the closeness of the pair. Like many of her kind, she made sure to avoid physical contact. Of course their species somehow reproduced and bred forth new hybrids of chaos; but, Kuueru had nothing to do with that nonsense. She kept her head straight and managed to stay focused on the meaningful things in life. Such as escaping the demon realm and bringing a pestilence among the mortals to end their suffering.
Kuueru chuckled to herself, all the while Lute continued on with his speech. It seemed that him explaining every bit of science or reasoning behind his actions were a character trait. Perhaps he felt just as awkward as she?
“I see, so someone such as yourself with knowledge of these fundamentals of ki are able to get a head start on training all around. Your body, your mind. I mean, I thought I just had natural talent; but if you think I can gain unlimited potential with only a bit more effort, I am certainly intrigued."
The demon replied, her eyes falling shut as she tried to meditate throughout the crazy tango of spirits energy. To think that there were something beyond what she discover in the past months was mind-boggling. Kuueru truly only wanted to explore and seek out the greatest to her own personal gain and growth. She would do whatever possible to achieve that; perhaps that is why the demon always sought out new allies in the field.
Lute weren’t finished yet, it seemed something that lurked within her body were fighting against him. Kuueru did not notice it much until Lute began to fight the odd energy within her. Kuueru groaned, her eyes fluttering as she fought the strange feelings taking over. Suddenly, the sounds of struggle vanished. Kuueru were still fighting and in pain, but the sound was missing or slowed down. She watched helplessly as she felt an emergence within her fut. The raw power that once lingered began to boil over.
Kuueru grew frantic, not used to controlling such an untamable fountain. She tried to remain calm, her eyes falling shut and her eyebrows furrowing. She grew stiff for the moment, the pain waving over her body before ultimately subsiding. The girl’s frame fell limp after the surge of energy stopped pouring out.
Lute returned to a more relaxed position, his hands neatly resting against the floor.
“W-What even.” Kuueru mumbled before falling back upon the makeshift cots of the area. She suddenly felt more exhausted than she could comprehend, her chest heaving to try and regain a normal pace of breathing.
“It was overwhelming. How can I contain and control that? I assume you will teach me right? But...I’m sure you have other plans as well. It’s not like I’m in a hurry.” Kuueru mumbled before waving a hand at the Namekian. She were tired now, but she couldn’t imagine the Namekian had another lesson planned for the pair.
“I have no idea what you just did but---it was so ….amazing. Do you unlock everyone’s potential like that?” Lute WC: 641/5,676

Lute finally stood up. Unlocking Kuueru's potential had taken more out of him than he thought. The blood rushing to his head made him dizzy, and he rested his forearm against the bulkhead so he didn't fall over. It was a little late in the realization, but it had been quite the effort to entangle himself once he had wormed his aura into hers so much. Pulling away had caused some of his own power to detach and be siphoned into her own. He had never heard of that happening before and wondered if it were some sort of demonic spiritual defense mechanism. Using his open hand, he wiped beads of sweat way from his bald head. "There's nothing I can do to help you control the power. It's on you. You need to practice drawing it out and wielding it. Demons seldom train, but I think it's time you get started. You'll never get truly powerful unless you put forth some effort."He stumbled a bit as he headed back to the cockpit, dropping down into the pilot's chair. He swiveled it around so he could face Kuueru again. "I've never done that before, not for anyone. The power I awakened in you should be more than enough for you to survive on your own here. After we meet with Hachi on Earth, I am going to set out alone to discover the location of Hollow.
"Once I find it, you can join me in conquering the city if it pleases you. I imagine the dark energy within may turn into a solace for you. In the psychic impression Kouzi showed me, I could sense an immense amount radiating from the place, just as she had. It was a memory she shared after all, a very real and vivid one.
"It's astounding, like a slice of the Demon Realm brought forth and made manifest the center of a cosmic storm. It looked like the city itself had been built within the head of some giant demonic monstrosity. And it will be mine, the place I gather power before my assault upon the gods."Turning the chair back around, he allowed himself to fall into a deep meditation for the rest of the trip. He needed to recover the power he spent helping Kuueru unlock hers. In meditation, time lost meaning and the hours flew by. Before he knew it, the nav-computer was beeping and squawking about the imminent arrival on Earth. The stealth ship dropped out of hyperspace in a flicker of motion. Earth's moon loomed huge in the distance, nearly filling the entirety of the view-screen. Lute tapped a few buttons on the console. Usually, at this point he would let auto-pilot carry him down and he would dock at East City spaceport. But, not today. Today he fully intended on bypassing all of that bureaucratic nonsense. He activated his signal jammer and fired up the cloaking device. The ship's dull matte black hull shifted and rippled as armor panels flipped around, making the entire thing transparent in an instant. They also dispersed heat rapidly into the voice, weakening the overall infrared signature of the craft. It consumed a lot of the ship's power to fly in this mode, the cabin lights dimming at the draw. They glided past lone trains of spacecraft of all different shapes and sizes. Earth was a bustling trade hub after all. Each ship fell into the automated traffic lines as if there were rail bring them their destination. Clipping past, the stealth ship bucked as it entered the swirling blue and white atmosphere of Earth. The descent carried them down to the expansive desert on the west side of the main continent. Lute tracked their destination and pointed the nose of the ship towards the destination. The "invisible" vessel cut a hard line across the rolling sands, the passing wake kicking up a huge cloud of dust and sand. They were on their way to an old hidden base, one Lute had bought ages ago. Earthlings were for more scrutinizing with their scans and inspections than most other spaceports. Security was tantamount, especially for aliens. Often times, Lute had to return from assassination missions with the body of his target, or a piece of them (like their head.) It didn't make it easy to get through the checkpoints. So, he used it as a place to set down and stay hidden while he took care of things. The desert gave way to sparse grasslands and rolling green hills. The base was tucked into a small valley between two formidable gray mountains capped with glistening sheets of ice. The entrance had a large set of double steel doors, nearly rusted beyond recognition. The faded ribbon emblem of the Red Ribbon Army was just barely visible through all the scars and erosion. Lute punched a secret code into his computer console and they started to open, grinding and shrieking. Once the gap was big enough, guided the ship down and landed it gently on a dilapidated platform in the center of the spacious hangar. "We're going to travel the rest of the way to East City ourselves," Lute said, on his feet again. He punched the ramp button and the hatch opened up, the must smell of the underground filling the tight compartment. Their little adventure in space was over, for now. The concrete walls of the base were covered in eerie mosses. Massive cracks spread in every direction along the walls, as though they were apart of some great spider web. Water dripped from holes in the ceiling, splattering onto the paint stripped metal walkways and rickety platforms. Each step Lute's big feet made came with a grinding screech. Afraid the staircase would collapse, simply levitated the rest of the way outside. After Kuueru had made her exit, the big doors closed and slammed shut with a thunderous boom.

Lute stood and it appeared that his little ritual was complete. Kuueru sat there exhausted, her body trembled from the intense activity it had endured. She couldn’t help but feel light-headed and disoriented from all that she had just unlocked and experienced. The power that she could immediately feel after Lute’s doings was immense. She felt she could be at least double, no triple to power. The demon clenched her fists as a smile played on her sinister lips. If Lute really did unlock some hidden ‘potential’, what could she be using it for?
Kuueru had planned on laying low and avoiding doing any trouble-making that would involve the use of magic. Giving a demon a new toy when they are supposed to be grounded was a bad idea. She jumped to her feet, her eyes trailing after the tired Namekian. He seemed to be exhausted from the ordeal as well, at least she weren’t alone.
“You’re right about demons never training, but I think I could be persuaded to do such in return for such a brilliant new gift.” It were now clear that Kuueru felt the looming energy within her being. Doors that once blocked chakra points in her body were opened for her. She felt as if she could be precise and powerful with any technique she muster.
Kuueru frowned as Lute stumbled into the cockpit and into his pilot’s seat. She followed like a lost dog, leaning against the wall as he turned his chair to face her once more. It was then that Lute explained that he had never performed such a ritual before. Also, he spoke of her own ordeals to be faced once they arrived on Earth.
“Ah, so you will leave me behind like some sort of kid? Haha, I get it.” Kuueru mumbled, the grin of a demon displayed proudly on her face. Him going after a planet would be quite the feat, she wondered of his plans in needing such a space. It was soon revealed to be the looming dark energy that radiated from it’s core. It would be a breeding ground for training her body and improving her techniques.
“So, a giant demonic monstrosity? Sounds terrifying, is dark energy all that worth it? What if it isn’t even true? Kouzi could be coocoo.” Kuueru argued boldly, her brows furrowing at Lute’s words.
Lute turned his chair and seemed to fall asleep. Kuueru couldn’t believe the man. Ignoring her for a nap? Of course, she spoke his name a few times before ending her futile attempts for his attention. Kuueru returned to her quarters where she too laid to rest for a bit after the tiring scene.
She waited asleep until the jarring movements of the ship landing on the surface of Earth woke her. Kuueru stretched as she sat up, her dull red eyes scanning the area. She walked out just in time to witness the lush setting outside of the ship’s viewing window. She didn’t notice them pass space customs, mostly because they had no such thing in the demon realm.
Her eyes had marveled at the desert like area in which they headed, but it randomly shifted to sparse grasslands and hill-riddled horizons. They soon arrived at the base that was decorated with faded emblems. It very much looked abandoned, perhaps this was their new evil hideout? Kuueru chuckled at her silly thought before walking to Lute with a cheerful wave. Old steel doors opened to make room for a ship. This must have been the hanger, they soon descended completely, a space abundant hanger enclosing around their now---tiny feeling ship.
“I see, very well then!” Kuueru replied to the first command Lute shot out. She followed him down the ramp faithfully, and a smell similar to when she first entered the mortal realm shot up her nares. She followed cautiously, dancing along questionable steel floors that trembled beneath their steps. Lute soon began flying and so did she. As they exited, the big doors shut abruptly, sending a tingle up Kuueru’s spine.
“East City is where Hachi is, that should be good then.” An obvious statement that the demon uttered, but soon the pair were rolling through the sky in the direction that Lute had noted. Rolling hills and the deserts passed once more, in fact they flew over a variety of vastly different habitats. Kuueru couldn’t help but marvel since she were so used to a million shades of red and black.
Soon they were upon East City, the demon observed bulbous shaped buildings and high-rise apartments. This was a city of progression and business. She couldn’t help but chuckle as they flew in lower to avoid being seen by civilians. Kuueru turned to Lute, a finger waving at the man’s chest.
“So where is this magician huh? Is he cute?”
