JUNKER SEVEN, West QuadrantFinding a hidden city wasn't easy. Lute had met the wizard Kouzi in the Demon Realm. After interrogating her, she had shown him an image of the place. It was still so vivid in his memory, as though he had just seen the picture. Despite the clarity of what it looked like, it was proving difficult to track down people who knew anything about it. Just describing the place made him feel crazy. Have you been to a giant skull city floating in the middle of a storm-wracked nebula? You know, the remnant of some long dead gargantuan titan.The city was named Hollow. Appropriate for the fact that it was built inside of a skull. And, it had avoided public attention for centuries. That meant that the authorities out there wouldn't know anything about it. No use bothering them. Still a city couldn't thrive in isolation. Especially one in the void. It inhabitants would need food and other supplies. The only people that could get that sort of stuff to and from without detection were smugglers. Good smugglers, mind you. So, he Lute set his course for Junker Seven. It was a derelict world, a ship-graveyard of sorts. Enormous piles of debris, millennia of waste and disposal, towered up over the scorched desert landscape. His own tiny black stealth fighter slipped through the ruined husks while staying undetected. He finally found a suitable clearing and set the ship down, coasting in on its thrusters. Before the landing skids were secure in place, the cockpit hatch opened with a hiss and Lute jumped out. His keen Namkeian ears picked up the raucous sound of laughter a short distance away. There was a tavern on this moon, hidden amongst the rubble. It was one made infamous among the best smugglers and pirates in the galaxy. They were the exact type of hot-shots he needed to interrogate to figure out Hollow's coordinates. Lute didn't even bother hiding his presence. Usually, as an assassin, he was quite careful and methodical. But, for this task needed to incite terror. As he walked, his aura unfurled like a dark omen. It was crushing in its sensation, like hatred made manifest in the air. He channeled ki into his hand, a blade black as midnight stretching out from his fingertips. It seemed to suck in all the light around its shadowy form, much like the event horizon of a black hole. Riko was not one for taverns. Like most Namekians, he was not quite as sociable as many other races, preferring his own company most of the time, so the thought of going out just to become intoxicated in a public environment was foreign to him. To make matters worse, he was on a planet built on filth and crime, two things he utterly despised. A dirty world is a world that cannot solve its own problems, and crime makes it so peace can never be achieved. Being out in the middle of nowhere, out of his element, was not done on a whim, however. For the past few nights, Riko has been receiving visions in his times of rest. Of course, with how blurry and hard to understand these were, it was obvious to him that these were visions from the future. Divining what was to be was always difficult to him, not matter how much he refined the ability, but one thing was clear in these dreams. He was on this planet, by this decrepit bar with piles of scrap metal and sand stretching out seemingly infinitely, and it was here that he would meet a man clothed in a red cloak. Then, they would fight. He had no idea why, but apparently that was his fate, and Riko was never one to doubt the powers above. Leaning on a wall inside of the establishment, the Namekian would keenly watch over the bar, his eyes glowing with an ethereal light as he gazed through their surface memories. If such an important person of his fate were to come here, it would probably not be for mere booze, so perhaps he was meeting up with an individual here, and yet none of them seemed to be thinking of the cloaked figure. As he subtly read over another being's memories, Riko's ears would suddenly twitch, hearing the steps of somebody approaching the bar, a menacing ki unfurling from that same location. The Namekian wasn't alone in hearing this, as a small number of the attendees would suddenly tense up, their eyes instinctively drifting in the direction of the energy source. Deciding that it would be best to approach them now, rather than having to deal with these hooligans as well, Riko brings his cape up with his right arm and raises it to his head as he squeezes into the wall. With the cloak now pushing on him, he would phase into the wall, with his cloak soon following suit as he would suddenly teleport away. Directly in front of Lute, a hand would emerge from the sand, which would push itself upwards, eventually unearthing a Namekian form. Rising from the ground, Riko, clothed in the emerald garb of the Dragon Clan elites, would face the new arrival. His eyes cautiously glance down at the hand of the cloaked man, black energy wavering around it. "Hmm, a blade of ki. So you are a close-combat figher, and you seem rather powerful, as well. I bear you no ill will, and I've no idea of your intentions, but it is our destiny to fight here today." As he spoke, a barrier would rise up around him, hugging closely to his form and giving him a bright, otherwordly glow. To make his demand seem more pressing, Riko would snap his fingers, causing a number of pillars of sand surrounding Lute to begin rising upwards. Slowly, they'd shape themselves into a Humanoid shape, though after forming, would merely stay still, waiting for their creator's order to attack. BATTLE TRACKER

Lute stopped dead in his tracks. He felt a presence, but wasn't quite able to pinpoint its location. It didn't take long for the person to reveal themselves, although they did it in quite the dramatic fashion. From the sand came an arm and then the rest of a body. As the sand itself peeled away with the movement, revealing and viridian faced warrior clad in familiar garb--another Namekian. He didn't recognize this particular Namekian. Then again, he had been away from New Namek for a very long time. Telling by the magic the Stranger wielded, he was no ordinary fighter. Lute had once been of the Dragon Clan, learned its magics for hismelf. He never finished his training, so he didn't know any teleportation tricks like that. If it had even been Namekian magic, somehow he doubted it. "...I bear you no ill will, and I've no idea of your intentions, but it is our destiny to fight here today." Lute chuckled beneath his mask and cloak. "That statement reeks of hypocrisy. Good thing for you, I came here expecting a fight. So, I'll happily oblige."Lute's smoky amethyst aura flared outward, sending waves of malice in every direction. It was the sort of presence that pressed in on the mind and pierced it like a telepathic assault. He's strong, that much is true. Let's see how he deals with some of his own clan's magic.He held up his free hand, swirling motes of magical energy collecting around his finger tips. This was an old Dragon Clan spell, meant to trap and weaken foes. The Dragon Clan were all about mercy and restraint. Lute seldom used the spell for its original purpose. Instead he preferred to make his prey susceptible and went in for the kill afterward. With the uttering of the old words and a flick of his wrist, the spell was cast. The ground shifted beneath the Stranger's feet. Three pillars of white stone erupted out of the sand, flinging clumps of it everywhere. Between the three pillars were three cords of raw magical power. They pressed in, attempting to entangle the Stranger. One cord was brilliant white, turning moisture into the air into snow with its frigid temperature. The second cord crackled with blazing blue electricity, buzzing and snapping. The third was a faint rosy hued whisper of smoke. Inhaling it would burn the lungs and weaken the body. Lute stepped forward towards the Stranger, sucking back his own deep breath. He exhaled out a brilliant plume of white mist that would cascade over the Stranger, hopefully freezing him solid. Blade of dark ki still buzzing from his hand, Lute tried to sweep it across the Stranger with a diagonal slash, followed by a thrust towards his abdomen. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

It seemed that Riko had underestimated his opponent. From the ground surrounding him, three pillars would rise forth, and immediately he knew that this person had to be a Namekian. Nobody else could use this same sealing spell, and unluckily for him, he was already caught in it. From the first pillar, a rope of ice would shoot towards him, though as soon as it made contact with his shield, it would melt away. The ropes of electricity and the one of poison, however, would make it past and wrap around his person, digging uncomfortably into his body. Now locked in place, his opponent took the chance to send a cold breath over the area, leaving the hot desert ground encompassed in ice, and Riko in a large chunk of permafrost. Finally, while immobilized in this state, the opponent took the chance to cut him down, Riko's body breaking apart and crumbling to the ground, seemingly dead. Slowly, the chunks of his body on the ground would slowly begin liquidizing, coalescing together and surging forwards. Immediately in front of the other Namekian, Riko would begin to rise up from the sludge, the only remnant of the previous attempts against him being his now sealed power level. "Hmm, a Dragon Clan like myself, and yet you do not seem ill-fitted for combat like most of us...So that explains why you're so strong...and why it feels like there's two of you, then." Smirking at this revelation, that this man was the result of a fusion, Riko would raise his right hand, his palm pointed at the man. Slowly, his fingers would begin to close down, and as he did this, the temperature surrounding his opponent would rapidly drop, the sand almost immediately freezing together. Finally, after his hand was fully closed, large spears of ice would shoot out from the icy sand, intent on piercing Lute. With the ice spears continuing to stretch outwards at jagged and sudden angles, the sand sculptures Riko created would begin to rise up on large waves of sand, trying to smother the area, and Lute, in the process. Lute watched in silent curiosity as the Stranger turned into a sludge and reformed. That too was another spell he had no idea about. Clearly, as a wizard, the Stranger was far superior to Lute. It didn't bother Lute much. He had started down the path of magic, learning just enough to get by. He didn't focus solely on it. Still, had he known such tricks--it would have been far more entertaining for him to bring terror to his foes. "Hmm, a Dragon Clan like myself, and yet you do not seem ill-fitted for combat like most of us...So that explains why you're so strong...and why it feels like there's two of you, then." Lute peeled off his cowl and lowered his mask to show his face. There was no use hiding who he was from one of his own people. Still, the fact that the Stranger had a keen enough sixth sense that he was able to pick up Horn--was impressive. "I am Lute. And, I cast aside the Dragon Clan years ago, after they failed to see my potential. They failed to see their own potential. So... content living in squalor, being pathetic. They could rival the gods in power, if they just had an ounce of ambition."Chink.The sand where Lute stood a moment prior was frozen solid, as though it had been dropped in liquid nitrogen. Lute floated above the spot, having sensed the magic entwining him a moment before the spell went off. The spears were a different story. Those he didn't expect. He dodged the first few with nimble grace, but last one stuck him in the left leg. Before he could do anything else he was hit with with a wave of sand. It pushed him down into a large pile of junk. Rusted ship parts and loose metal scraps rattled across the area. Lute emerged with a roar, his robes and gi encrusted with sand. With a violent motion, he ripped out the spear of ice still poking out his leg and cast it aside. His amethyst aura shifted from wavering flames into a thin sheen that hugged his frame, protecting his skin from any foreign substances. He was playing it safe against the magic. Vanishing, he appeared beside the Stranger with a slash, only to disappear again. Appearing for a second time, this time he tried a thrust aimed at the top of his head. Sweeping right, he attempted a final slash at the shinbone of the leg. After his attack, he flew up into the air and clenched his fist. During his first few attacks and the ones proceeding, he had dropped tiny beads of his ki into the sand to lie and wait. The mines erupted into massive chain explosion, rattling the entire area with a thunderous boom. The concussive for shot up a sand pillar into the sky. As it rained down, he waited to see what this clever wizard would do next. BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

From the pile of scrap and sand burst forth Lute, a large chunk of ice getting ripped from his leg. Immediately following this, Riko noticed his energy form more tightly against his body, making a small shield around his body. A defensive tactic to ward off crippling blows, it seemed. A smart tactic, to be sure. Still, the fact that they didn't simply create a warding spell spoke of their ascetic approach to magic. Suddenly, a dull throb of pain came to Riko's mind, causing him to bring a hand to his temple. More future sights at a time like this? It was of Lute again, but far clearer than before, and bizarrely, it showed from his own perspective while they were in the exact some position they were in already. No, slightly ahead, as Lute was already moving in for an attack. Yes, he was seeing a few moments forward in time. Snapping his eyes open, the Dragon Clan would step forward, barely escaping the reach of the first slash at him. Then he'd duck his head slightly, the ki blade just barely not scratching him. Finally, he'd hop over the attack aimed at his legs, and as Lute rose up into the air to detonate his mines, Riko flew just out of the blast radius. This entire time, his eyes were closed and a pained expression was on his face, though despite this, he responded to the attacks perfectly. The visions stopped after his final evasive act, thus Riko would open his eyes again and glance upwards to Lute. "Well, I do hope you have more up your sleeve. For one to claim that the Dragon Clan is lethargic, a claim I can't exactly refute, and that they couldn't see your potential, you really didn't perform very impressively there." An empty taunt, as Riko realistically should have been entirely incapable of evading all of those attacks. However, he did, and while he probably won't be lucky enough to have a foresight like that happen again, it did put him at an immediate advantage. Facing his right palm towards the large pile of sand and debris he created before, at least what was left of it after the mines, it would all begin to rise up and begin swirling around. A vortex of sand particles and chunks of metal would rise up towards Lute, trying to envelop him inside of it. After this, he would clasp his hand, suddenly condensing the mass into a sphere, slowly shrinking as it attempts to crush down on the foe. As a finale to this attack, Riko's other hand would wave over the sand sphere, and all of the metal embedded in it would suddenly begin melting down and violently exploding outwards, molten metal flying every-which direction. So you've cast them aside too. Interesting.Lute didn't have much time to respond to that notion as he was suddenly within a swirling maelstrom of sand and debris. The skin tight barrier of ki he formed around himself shielded him from the brunt of it. Bits and pieces that would have sliced him open sparking against it. It was a moment too late before he saw the cherry red glow of the molten slag. The bolts slammed into him, his barrier managing to catch most of it. Still, he smelled the barbecuing of his own flesh, and it wasn't pleasant. Grunting, Lute vanished from sight. In the blink of an eye, he appeared above the Stranger, hanging upside down in a free fall. Timing his attack, he sucked back breath and exhaled another plume of icy mist. As it was engulfing his foe, he swept his energy blade diagonal slash, attempting to cut him in twain. Then leaped back, firing a volley of amethyst ki bolts from both palms. Putting some distance between them, Lute landed atop the skeletal husk of a rusted out Tech Tech warship and lowered into a crouch. "You have a lot to say. From the sandstorm came Lute, and before Riko could react, his body was once again fully encased in a sheet of ice. With him immobilized like this, a slash cleanly cut his body in two, though the unnatural biology of the mage rendered that attack completely ineffective. The following two blasts to destroy his separated halves, however, blew the two to pieces. The shards of his body, now only frostbitten after the previous attack mostly cleared the ice away, would swarm together in the air, reforming Riko's body, and despite the fact that he had just taken what would be deadly attacks to most, he came out feeling better than before, his energy reserves noticeably larger than before. Riko rolls his neck around, testing out how well he completely reformed his physiology, the cracking of his bones resettling feeling almost euphoric. "Ahh, that feels good. A bit on the weak end, though you definitely helped me work out some knots in my muscles. Oh, and what was that about my energy?" With a grin, he digs a holds his right palm towards himself, and with his other hand, would gouge one of his long nails into it, blood freely flowing down and staining the sand below him. Black lines would materialize on the hand, wrapped around the entirety of his hand. Slowly they'd begin to flake off of his skin and dissolving into the air. As this happens, ki that had been stored within this seal would surge into his body, giving a much-appreciated boost to his stamina. With the marks all gone now, he'd remove the mutilating nail of his and the hole in his hand would seal shut behind it. "Do not worry for me, Lute. I am more than capable of keeping up with you." To demonstrate the point, both of Riko's hands shoot forward, causing the colossal ship Lute had landed upon to wildly change in shape, metallic spikes from its own mass shooting out of it in every direction. At the same time, nearby ships would rise into the air and be compressed to a size no greater than a basketball before being launched at the other Namekian. BATTLE TRACKER

Lute leered from his perch atop of the rusted out ship at the Stranger. As if it were a purposeful rebuttal, his foe had reformed from the icy assault with quite a bit more energy. He proceeded to break a magical blood seal of his own power and used it to recover even more. Great Lute snorted at that, irritated. Then again, if he had to steal and awaken his hidden power, that meant only good things. Still, Lute had taken a bit more punishment throughout the fight. Things were still up in the air, and that was annoying. The metal frame his weight rested upon shifted and he jumped, just in time to see that the entire thing changed shape into a hellish maze of spikes. They shot out at him. Grimacing, he expanded his skin tight shield into a hardened sphere. The spikes crashed against it, sparking and sputtering. His sensitive ears were filled with the horrid sound of shrieking metal as Riko compressed other ships into dense balls and chucked them. Lute swerved out of the way of one but another slammed into him full force. The energy shield did little against such mass, so he was forced to take hold of it or be crushed. It carried him through several giant spires of metal scraps and debris before he managed to slow it. Grunting, he discarded the dense sphere. It hit the ground and sent up a great plume of sand. Not wanting to lose track, he checked for his foe. The Stranger hadn't move very far from where he was. Lute concentrated additional power into his dark ki blade, elongating and sharpening. With a roar, his amethyst aura blazed around him as he shot back at the Strnager at full speed. Upon him, he brought the blade down with wicked consequence. It was an aggressive attempt to do something to the tricky bastard. Each slash and stab was full of more hate and vitriol than the last. "Just who are you anyway? Riko crosses his arms as he watches Lute sent flying away with the scrap ball, mostly unharmed, though the barrier around their body did seem weakened. They couldn't hold up against his attacks for too much longer now, and after the conclusion of this fight, perhaps this man's importance would become clear to him. Like a fireball, Lute is enveloped in his aura and charges at Riko and besets upon him. They slash wildly, hate fueling their strikes as they smack against Riko's barrier. Cracks visibly form upon the shield, but despite the other's efforts, it would not break. "Ahh, I realize now that I have no introduced myself. My apologies. I am known as Riko, and I'm merely a soldier from the Galactic Empire." Unfolding his arms, Riko holds both of his arms forward, a telekinetic power taking hold over Lute, making it difficult to move even an inch. "Now as for why I am here...Let us say that fate put me here before you." An invisible force would slam into Lute's frame to send them flying towards a pile of ship parts in the background, which the mage had already begun turning into a large array of spikes, just in case he went too soft with the telekinetic throw. Lute loved to fight, just as much as the next warrior. Testing one's mettle against another warrior, learning and adapting. They were tools for learning, tools for improvement. Despite the pain of his injuries, he was beginning to feel less and less like this Riko was his enemy. Lute had nothing against the Galactic Empire. In fact, he had only recently learned about them and their leader, Emperor Polaris. The entire rebranding was intriguing to him. The Galactic Patrol had been a pathetic group of wannabe heroes. They lacked the gall to finish their enemies. Based on what he knew about history, they could have put the nail in the coffin of the Frieza Force more than once, but they chose a moral high ground instead. It was foolish, pathetic. But, immediately after being named Emperor it seemed this Polaris fellow had moved on his enemies with little mercy and with a fervor unseen. Lute grunted as he was knocked away from Riko by unseen concussive force. Spinning out of control, he managed to stop himself with a burst of ki--his amethyst aura flashing outward. Glancing down, he had done so at just the right time. Riko had turned more of the junk yard into dangerous spikes in which would have impaled him. "Tell me Riko," Lute said. He wiped some blood and sweat from his brow with a forearm. "What made you join the Galactic Empire?" BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Seeing Lute stop his movement in midair, Riko had already caused the scrap metal around him to begin condensing down into the shape of drills and was just about to fling them at his foe. However, the other Namekian didn't seem to moving in for another attack, or even doing anything betraying an attacking action. Perhaps they were done with fighting now? There was no point in betraying this wordless truce, so the objects he was holding up would suddenly plummet towards the ground, causing splashes in the sand below. "Ahh, so the Empire interests you, then? Sorry to disappoint you, but I actually never joined the Galactic Empire. While it's uncommon, some of the people from the Patrol actually remained with the organization after it transitioned, and I am one of those people," Riko says as he leans back and begins to sit down on the air itself, as though a chair was there, his head resting in the palm of his right arm. After Riko's words ended, Lute felt disgust welling up in the back of his throat. The fight against him had been rough, admittedly. Lute didn't know one way another if he could win, especially if it dragged out. It irked him, but here was a powerful wizard. Perhaps, the strongest wizard Lute had ever met, and he was rambling on about peace. Lute had been ready to give him the respect he deserved. Peace.The word made boil with rage, both of his fists squeezing tight. Every Namekian on New Namek dreamed of peace, spoke of it around the hearth on cold nights. They lived lives pointless and mundane. They did nothing, built nothing, conquered nothing. Lute saw life as a game, to be the strongest and to survive the longest. Not every creature won, but those that did were able to write history and make themselves immortal. Lord Frieza had been one such creature, his name still feared and whispered everywhere. Lute didn't agree with his fruitless genocides, but he couldn't argue the results of pure strength. In fact, his strength was so good it pushed others to surpass him. Like the Super Saiyan that cast him down. "Do you remember our people's first planet? Old Namek. The one that is now just dust drifting through space. Do you remember why we lost our world?"Lute didn't give him a chance to blame Frieza. He was about to deliver his point. "Ultimately, it was peace that led to that. So that was Lute's philosophy. Survival of the fittest. The weak deserve to perish. Peace can never exist so long as something stronger exists. That explained why this man had fused with another Namekian, and why he had discarded his Dragon Clan lineage. He wasn't some enlightened individual that had moved on past the Namekian's philosophies. No, he was merely a coward, seeing power to not end up like their ancestors. Riko's eyes narrow at the individual before him, his disappointment clear to them in his expression. "So, let me get this straight. You claim the Dragon Clan did not appreciate your power, thus to prove them wrong, you ended up as an utter amateur at magic and with a philosophy no more advanced than the most base of creatures. To make up for this failure of yours, you ended up fusing with another Namekian for power, as that's the only thing you have to give you comfort and safety in that barbaric philosophy of yours. So rather than being even half of the man that Grand Elder Moori was, who helped rebuild us a species following the Frieza tragedy, you devolved to something lesser than us Namekians just so you could be strong. Lute could tell that his point had fallen on deaf ears. It wasn't the first time. For having shed the skin of the Dragon Clan, it seemed Riko was misguided. He still clung to their foolish dogma and pointless dreams. It was unfortunate, as Lute for the briefest of moments had thought he found someone akin to him. There was no turning someone from that path, they had to do it themselves. Riko would either realize truth of existence, or he would die for nothing, having accomplished nothing. "Even if you achieve peace, do as you say. It will be a fleeting, and slip away like sand through one's fingers. The Namekians have hardly recovered in five hundred years, hardly grown or thrived. Their days are numbered, their glory far in the past. The next Frieza that lands there, the next tyrant with unstoppable power, will crush them like ants. And I will laugh."The sound of ship engines in the distance stole Lute's attention, if for a brief moment. Numerous vessels were escaping into the upper atmosphere. The smugglers and pirates he had came here for were fleeing, no doubt due to the strong power levels and the decimation the little bout had caused. "My power only grows. I will stop do anything and stop at nothing to achieve my goals. Before I take my last breath I will tear down this false sense of security that the gods have built. I will restore the natural order, give living beings a reason to struggle and grow powerful again."He shifted in the direction of his ship, shaking his head one last time at Riko. "I hope you found what you were looking for on this shit hole. Because, I have no reason to linger around anymore. It seemed that Lute only further proved his point, yapping on about restoring the natural order and that he'd continue to improve his power for this goal. What a truly barbaric individual. Before Riko would have the time to say anything further, Lute would say his farewells, rather rudely at that, and would suddenly fly off. Seems like he was done wasting his time with Riko's sudden spar. "Damn, and here I was hoping to actually learn more about him. Oh well, at least I can see why I dreamt of him." With his tendency towards violence and preaching that the weak should be weeded out, he probably was going to do something drastic in the future to bring this philosophy to life. Without fighting him like this, he doubted that the man would just casually talk with him, but now he at least knew of him. With nothing left to do here, Riko gently floats down to the ground and would begin to sink into it. Slowly, his body would be enveloped, until there was no trace of him left. Of course, there literally couldn't be, as he teleported away after being submerged, leaving the scene he created on that planet with very little to show for his efforts. Lute- End spar.-
