Hearing Bai's plight, Lieutenant Murowski pulled a gadget from under her cloak which served as her walking stick but with less noise. Ah, the convenience of modern technology. She can only imagine how far earthling will get without those. Still, she was somewhat impressed as compared to Earth's blind aide, the gadget in question was a floating orb capable of self operating instead of a cumbersome goggle. Truly the marvel of alien technology. Now that problem was addressed, the android turn towards the other issue at hand which was to identify the mystery of disappearing bodies. As Cipher remarked earlier there was no sign of the bodies being dragged as there should have been a trail of sorts indicating the direction of the disappearing body. Clearly more evidence and clues were needed to solve this particular puzzle. With the aide of the two orbs, they manage to explore the area without worrying about triggering traps or tripping tripwires. Just then they came upon contact of a blast door built sturdy enough to withstand a lot of impact. Trying to break them down was impractical to say the least...but once again Lady Luck was on their side. The door opened pretty easily which brought them to command room before a hologram emerged. The android raised her hand in caution (forgetting for the moment that Bai can't actually see the hand signal), keeping her eyes trained on their surrounding even as she listened to the hologram speaks. It was only after ensuring that this was not some sort of active ruse to lower their guard did the android relaxed her stance slightly. Bai raised a valid concern to which she turned towards Lietuenant Murowski. "Can your drones tell us if our body has been infected with some sort of foreign biological agent?" While it may be a tad too conveneint, it was better for her to ask the question first and have them dismissed so they could focus on the potential threat at hand. "I wonder if one can maintain intelligence while under the aggressive effect of that bio-agent. Depending on the answer, we're either dealing with Berserkers or Assassins." There was no way they could answer that question definitively....at most, make an educated guess based on what they can see at the scene. Either type were still dangerous, especially since they're dealing with highly trained Black Ops agent. 395 words. Atreus, Cipher, Colonel Pricota, Liang Bai.

After proceeding further into the abandoned facility, the sight of a blast door caught her attention. Tilting her head to the side, she maintained an indifferent expression while Odin’s clearance allowed them to avoid bringing out their bigger munitions. While watching the door slide open, her jaw tensed. Lifting her hand to face the ceiling, small transparent emerald spheres started orbiting her hand while she kept her guard up and without openings. Lazy golden irises soaked in the sight of a hologram flickering to life. She clenched her hand into a fist and whatever energy she summoned receded into her body. Some middle-aged guy. Wait, some? They learned about all of the events that transpired within the facility. The fall, the takeover, the debate turning to violence and the bio-weapons. Prior to affiliating herself with these people, Cipher possessed little experience with politics and it interested her little. Even while learning about the inhabitants being infected, her expression continued conveying relative apathy and disinterest. An immunity to the weapon piqued her interest somewhat, but it failed to surface on her countenance. The message concluded with a plea to destroy Yggdrasil. Come its conclusion, the woman crossed her arms under her chest while her tail wrapped itself around her waist. But you know, he kind of looks like...Bai interrupted her thoughts with a cynical spiel, but her eyes were focused on the crimson-bathed room before them. Audrey commented about whether or not their leader’s drones could provide any useful information about the agent coursing through the victim’s veins. She turned her eyes towards her allies and waited for them to come up with a course of action. Every cell in her itched for a fight, and as such, she decided to leave the planning and deductive reasoning to the capable people around her. With three heads already on the job, her two cents sported little value. Atreus Audrey Colonel Pricota Liang Bai

Murowski quietly listened as two of her three companions voiced their concerns. If Cipher wasn't saying anything, it was because the Saiyan was clearly just waiting for a chance to fight. That was fine. Audrey and Liang had already covered the two bases of the matter. One, were they prepared for a biohazard? "Considering Dark Ops' history, I made sure to account for the possibility of bioweapons being present aboard the ship." Said bioweapons having been released aboard the ship was something else, but even a Tuffle couldn't account for everything. If the entire race realized too late that they should have run away instead of fought, then maybe they wouldn't be almost extinct today. A few gestures on a holopanel later, and another ball of light emerged from somewhere on her person. Ah, hard light. Such a convenient technology. You could program anything you wanted into these virtual particles, and they would do most things with ease. "If the birds pick up anything, this will set up a decontamination field - everything inside that-" It emitted a ring, which expanded to a radius of five yards. "Should be safe. Next time that ring appears, we'll need it."The tricky part, of course, was staying inside if a fight was going on. If she diverted any more power to make duplicates, her cells would run out pretty fast. Two, they had to figure out how to deal with any survivors. "A playwright once said, 'Hope for the best, expect the worst. Life is a play, and we're all unrehearsed.' A Berserker might be directly problematic, but that is a waste of Dark Ops' talents. We all know how they are master assassins. So let's prepare to deal with assassins. Including assassins who pretend to be berserkers."A clever agent could, for example, feign berserker rage, then when the team's guard was down, abruptly shift to the use of deadly tactics. At a snap of her fingers, the ravens began to search for the priorities. "Lastly, let's also assume they're contagious. So like a zombie movie, don't touch. If they point a dart at you, assume it's tipped with the stuff."While you can't account for everything, it was a good idea to at least have some ground rules. "That said, our first priority is the Fabricators. An army marches on its stomach. If the refugees are hungry, they can't work properly. We're also prioritizing the Intelligence about the factions and players. If we know everything we can about them, we can exploit their weaknesses and undermine their strengths. Finally... the next gen schematics. Dark Ops was the Patrol's cutting edge. If those toys haven't been built yet, the Empire probably doesn't have any. We can make up for our lack of numbers with superior technology. Are we clear on that?""I'd rather we not split up. Our abilities complement each other, and each one of us is precious. So let's start with the Fabricators." She checked the HUD, seeing if the ravens had anything to report... any direction they can start with. | LORD OF STORMS AM I IN HEAVENS HIGH AND CAVERNS DEEP |

Murowski, your HUD begins to ping, and a signal leads you through some winding corridors, leading to your left. As you cross the threshold through a blast door that opens to your security clearance, you see something distressing; a corpse that is far from intact. It's body lay in dozens of pieces, and disturbingly, there was no blood. Murowski, you immediately know what has happened to this person; he has been sliced to ribbons by a laser defense grid, and the wounds have all been cauterized by the heat of the beams. Looking around the room, you can see the emitters, and you can guess where in the room will trigger the lasers. You're probably safe until you move deeper into the room. Looking at the scene, it seems fairly obvious what happened; this man tried to move through the room quickly, but found the other door locked. Lacking the power to open it, he tried to make his way back to safety, but was not agile enough to make it past the lasers. Your HUD indicates that there are other parts of the base that are not trapped, but you don't see another way to get past this fabricators. You might be able to hack the door's security to open it and get through before the lasers can hit you, or even shut down the lasers entirely. You all might be able to move swiftly enough to get to the other side and smash the door to pieces, but that could set off alarms or damage what's inside the room. What do you do? Sometimes, blindness is a blessing. Unsurprisingly by now, Murowski had a contingency plan in place for this case. Technology truly was a wonderful thing, she thought, even if she didn't really understand much about it. Maybe she should look into studying more, catching up with the galaxy around her. But that was neither here nor there. According to Murowski, she had set up a decontamination field that would keep them from getting infected. It was also able to be seen through echolocation, so that was also a plus. Audrey had also raised a valid concern. The man said that the bio-agent made people aggressive, but never stated if you could still act intelligently while under it's effects. Bai thought about it, furrowing her brow as she went over what the hologram had relayed to them. Murowski spoke before Bai could, the girl nodding at what she said, "Indeed. The way he said it, it sounded like they were intelligent. He did say 'sadistic madman' rather than 'vicious beast' or 'mindless berserker'." She then stated, adding her own piece into the fray. Bai listened to Murowski's next words, nodding with a serious look. Most of what she said was all well and good, but knowing when a dart would be pointed against herself would be difficult. A small frown occupied her face; she'd have to make do with hearing it and dodging using her techniques and natural agility. After all, there was only so much Murowski's technological aid could do. After that, Murowski would relay to them the priorities of this mission. The girl nodded and said, "Understood."All of what she said was true. Keeping an army fed was incredibly important so they could have high morale and better effectiveness in battle, as well as the fact that making someone work on an empty stomach was just wrong. Intelligence was also a good thing to have, seeing as they were the underdogs who needed every advantage they could get. Schematics were good for the same reason. Bai followed Murowski as her HUD leads her through the corridors. Upon reaching the room she'd abruptly stop, making a very disgusted face as she put a hand over her mouth, almost vomiting then and there. Just what was that smell? Unknown to her, it was coming from the dead body. After taking a moment to compose herself, she eventually asked the others, "What's... what's in front of us?"MADE BY NOVA

As always, the Lieutenant turn out to be quite reliable on the matter as she used her advance technology to set up a decontamination field. Hopefully that will be enough for now, she rather not risk worrying that one of their own suddenly went berserk especially when they're on the lookout for potentially mentally unstable field agent. There wasn't much to add to Lieutenant Pricota's cautionary words against their tactics so the android simply nodded at that. A click of her tongue expressed her dissatisfaction...she always had been the type to bring battle close and personal but she nodded for now as she would rather not risk their mission simply for her preference in her choice of combat. The android was more worried about their adversary potenttially feigning their tactics to get the quads, they didn't exactly have much of an experience working together. Lieutenant Murowski reminded them once more of their priorities on the matter which constitute of fabricators, intelligence and next-gen schematics. While the android didn't exactly disagree the importance of those, her own priorities were slightly different in mind...though she decided to hold her tongue for now. Just because Murowski deem them important doesn't mean they would be forsaking other information they stumbled on, only that they needed to focus on the ones she stated first. "Yes Ma'am, we're clear." the android replied as she focus on looking for the fabricators. She wasn't too keen on the idea of splitting up in a place like this herself even if all of them have similar type of abilities. Without no blueprint of the place, they would more likely to get lost than make any progress. "Agreed. But I would suggest we use telepathic communications to keep in touch between each other should we split...." the android was about to expand further before she stopped abruptly, her eyes on the corpse before them. Immediately her eyes darted to the laser emmiter grid, the door and then back to the corpse itself. For a moment she stayed silent until Liang Bai speak up. The android paused slightly before she decided to surmise what happen. "Male corpse. Sliced into ribbons by the laser grids I would say. Judging from the position the corpse was facing, our unlucky victim must have triggered them while he was on the way back where we're standing."The android paused slightly, looking at the Lieutenant for further orders. Given her hacking ability, the safest option would have been to let her take care of it. However there was always the possibility of failure in which case, they would have travel through them nonetheless and smash the door into pieces. "I think you should try hacking this door as usualy Ma'am. If that doesn't work, I'll volunteer to smash the door for us." Audrey suggested as she cracked her knuckles slightly. Her eyes scan the ground for burn marks to predict the course of the lasers. Cipher, Atreus, Colonel Pricota, Liang Bai490 words.

Even if she wasn’t entirely interested, she supposed that she should keep tabs of what was being said. Frankly, the existence of a bioweapon surprised her to some extent. Whenever the word was mentioned, such as when their leader spoke on the topic of accounting for it, her brow raised ever so slightly. Cipher was cynical enough to believe in the worst of mortal nature, but the development still aroused surprise in her. For the Saiyan, perhaps it was more reassuring than anything. As in, them standing a chance. Well, it was the Dark Ops and all. Cipher watched Murowski deploy potential countermeasures to that very thing, her eyes following the ball of light before expanding. How quaint. As somebody who valued having her wits about her at all times, she could appreciate having someone at the head of their operation who came prepared for anything. Courtesy of her Earthling roots, she had a penchant for valuing all forms of strength, including practicality and intelligence. Currently, they had no shortage of it. As evidenced by her response to Audrey. Stalking the shadows and waiting for an opportunity to eliminate the enemy was smart, and she liked the prospect of it—that is, when it wasn’t be posed against her. Ironically, the dilemma between keeping one’s power level low to try and avoid detection for such a thing may pose a greater risk than keeping it at its full potential. Taking an unsuspected blow while in such a state could pose big issues. Cipher fastened her arms under her chest, nodding in agreement. The strategy of not being hit did perturb her slightly, causing her brow to crease. As someone who was better at taking them and relying on her impressive constitution, that may be an issue. But, she would try to adapt. The woman had a few tricks up her sleeve to prune certain conditions or avoid them entirely. With the worse outcome in mind, not being able to because of it being too unique, she would have to lean on her allies for support. The Fabricators were their top priority for good reason, followed by intelligence and schematics. If they could acquire all of them, it would be great, but were things ever that easy? Hearing that they were each valued was reassuring, overall leading to no qualms on Cipher’s end. “Roger. I’d like to note that I’m more sturdy than I am elusive, but I’ll try to adapt to the latter. I hope it doesn’t become an issue.”Following along through the winding corridors, she eventually stumbled upon a ghastly sight. Despite the horror before her, along with the pungent odour, the Saiyan didn’t bat an eye, completely unlike one of her companions. Audrey verified that the laser defense grids reduced him to that sorry state while he was on his way back from whence they came. Even when spared the details, Cipher’s reaction still was a nonchalant as a man walking his dog while she scrutinized the meaty anomaly. They were about to play a game of hack the door or smash the door, it would seem. That was fine. She just would prefer not having her body reduced to a museum mural. "Excellent idea, Brynhldr." Artificial telepathics. Just another gadget she 'happened' to come up with. There really were quite a bit of things a Tuffle with a lot of time on her hands could do with the right idea. In this case, Pricota had studied her own psionic genes, spliced in from Kanassan DNA, the mechanisms through which her powers functioned, and developed machinery to replicate these functions. It was safer than most encrypted transmissions, and psychics were... rare.. enough that their transmissions shouldn't be so easily intercepted. The problem, of course, was that in the event that a psychic did catch them, thoughts weren't exactly something you could encrypt. That was why the Continuum used QUENT. Quantum Entanglement combined the interception-proof instantaneous relay of telepathy, with the safety of encryption methods. The Lieutenant handed out earpieces to those who weren't already using telepathy. "Switch these on, and just think of the person you want to contact while thinking 'at' them."They moved on toward the direction of the fabricators' storage. What the twin virtual ravens showed her was not pretty. Sliced to bits along the hallway was some unfortunate sod who seemed to have forgotten that it was lined with laser tripwires. Laser tripwires that also happened to house laser cutters to go with them. An ingenious security system. Possible to subvert with sufficient agility, but the less risky method was hacking into the mechanism to disarm it. Well, for a given meaning of 'less risky'. "Again, another good call. This is why you're one of my colonels." She raised her hand, and the ravens assembled themselves from their virtual dust. "Huginn, Muninn. Execute Subversion Protocol 25-I. Shut down the lasers and unlock the door." | LORD OF STORMS AM I IN HEAVENS HIGH AND CAVERNS DEEP |
