As the sun began to set on the day and nightfall set in, Snap a young girl from the nearby mountaineer region of Earth was out in the night taking a brief rest after spending hours setting traps and failing to hunt down even the smallest of game in order to put food on the table for her family. Upon waking up, Snap sets out to inspect the last of her traps before heading home hungry for the night should her venture prove less than fruitful. She headed toward the site of her first trap a conibear trap, a rather large one at that, that was built out of wood and disguised as being apart of the trees. The trap is designed to make it easier to kill animals quickly and made it so that they suffered less. If tripped a large pair of clamps would hold the creature in place, constricting around the creature’s head and neck this device, in particular, that would kill it swiftly and quickly, however, if the creature were small enough or swift enough they would have no trouble evading it. When Snap arrived to take a gander at her trap she was guided by a small flashlight installed onto her pair of hunting glasses, however instead of finding a wolf or a rabbit stuck inside of her humble she found it empty the clamps had indeed been activated but were also broken as if someone or something had forced its way out. The clamps mangled backwards as if it was ripped right out, though strangely no hairs or traces of blood had been left behind. And upon even closer inspection it would appear that the bait she left a pile of tasty blueberries, was also gone with a few of them having been squished and deposited on the ground. Snap couldn’t believe it, not only was it broken but whatever was trapped within it had gotten away. Crestfallen Snap pushes a small red button atop the device to return it to it’s more portable capsule form and places it in her pocket sighing. As she placed it away however small disproportions in the ground caught her attention, certain parts of the grass had been flattened as if someone or something had been here, they were difficult to discern but continued deep into the forest. The young huntress began to follow them but only ended up finding her way back to camp. She seemed baffled and then facepalmed remembering that those were her footprints. She must’ve been hungrier than she thought as she clearly wasn't thinking straight. Thankfully she had three more traps to go, and after taking a moment to drink some water from a small canteen she kept strapped to her side the young pilot headed back into the forest headed towards her second trap. A humble bear trap, something rather simple and effective and perfect for capturing her favorite meal. Upon arriving at the bear trap, however, she found this trap triggered as well. With the fresh fruit, she left having also been eaten. Snap at this point was quite confused. However, suddenly she heard the sounds of a chomp and saw small food particles of food falling from a nearby branch. Snap spotting this hastily climbed the nearest tree she could, upon doing so she caught a small glimpse of something sitting atop a branch, But just as she was about to go after it the lights on her the mini flashlight planted in her glasses died out and so she activated the night vision function on her glasses however the visibility was poor and she was only able to see small glimpses of the creature in front of her. She wasn't sure if it was an animal or a person but she began to give chase and whatever it was it was going to pay it would either become her next meal or help pay for it. Her stomach was rumbling and her instincts were high. In a moment of perceived victory, the young girl let out a holler her words accented with a slight mountanieer accent. SNAP:
Ain’t nowhere to run...You’re done like dinner! Snap then unfastened a small hunting knife from her person and chucked it at the creature as she leaped through the air up and over the creature, landing on a branch that was directly in the path of where it was headed in an effort to scare it and block of it's path the young hunter certain her strike would've wounded it and she could safely recover it's carcass on the ground below as it fell, however upon landing Snap looks up realizing that what she was after was not a creature but a man, Snap stood in shock at this full-sized man who was now charging straight for her. She raises up her hands bracing herself for impact. SNAP:

Who the hell left traps on the ground like that?Atreus had decided to go training in the forest. While it would not do much for his overall strength, he was instead trying to hone his senses. Apparently, he wasn't doing a good job at that as he set off a trap, it's clams snapping towards him. They did no real damage, of course; Atreus was fairly certain that a tactical nuclear weapon, if he utilized his ki to guard, wouldn't do much more than give him a hell of a tan. Atreus reached down and easily popped the clamps open, then was on his way. As he left, he saw a fox dart out from a bush. Apparently, there had been some fruit in the trap... bait, Atreus guessed. Now that the trap had been sprung, the fox, a clever little animal, had apparently found the fruit safe enough to consume. Atreus shook his head, wondering how he could be so careless... and then his foot found metal once more, and with a click, the jagged jaws of a bear trap closed around his leg. These had even less success than the other trap, the teeth of the trap instantly shattering as they connected with Atreus' super hard skin. He sighed. Atreus had many talents. He was tall and handsome, charming, possessed a good singing voice, could cook rather well, was fabulously rich and unbelievably powerful (especially, as all the aliens he met kept telling him, for an Earthling). What he, quite clearly, was not, was a skilled woodsman. Once more, Atreus sighed and forced the trap away from his leg. He was really bad at this. There was more fruit, and a couple more wilderland critters came out from the brush to snack on the bait that had surely been tempting them before Atreus had blundered into the trap. Atreus, now more cognizant of his surroundings, continued on his way. After a bit of travel, with the powerful Earthling now on the lookout for traps, Atreus made his way to a dense copse of trees. His experience with his friends Dain and Sly recently had taught him how important it was, not only to attain greater power and mastery of ki, but to improve your mundane skills as well. They had been on a planet where their ki had been completely gone. No energy blasts, no flight, no enhanced strength or speed. Just their own bodies and wits. Atreus had certainly had an easier time of it, as he had trained as a true martial artist for his entire life, but the experience had drove him just how important it was to keep training the basics. Atreus suppressed his power far, far down, almost as far as he could. Normally, he was strong enough to easily destroy entire planets. Now, he had cut himself off from the vast majority of his titanic strength. It felt good. He felt somehow more in tune with the world around him, rather than worried that he would mar it simply by not taking care to guard his strength. Atreus found a tall, sturdy tree, and stood in front of it, adopting the first stance his master had taught him; the horse stance. Atreus brought his hands back as he bent his knees, then began punching the tree in front of him. It hurt a bit; that was the point. Atreus was using just enough ki to not seriously injure his hands, but not enough to prevent them from damage. Doing this would toughen up his knuckles and... It was at that moment that Atreus heard someone shout something out in an accent. He turned to look, and his eyes, now accustomed to the darkness, saw something glinting in the moonlight heading straight at him. Releasing a bit of his suppressed power, Atreus felt his senses and reactions speed up. His eyes went wide as he made out the knife headed straight for his chest, but Atreus was now too quick for that. Atreus dodged to the side and as he did so, his hand flashed out and he caught the knife by the handle. His assailant had jumped over to cut off any escape avenue, but Atreus barreled straight in to attack. He had his fist raised, but before he struck, a sudden burst of recognition stayed his hand. He came to an abrupt stop, managing to halt himself right before colliding into her outstretched hands. Despite the night vision goggles that obscured her face, Atreus was positive that he knew this person. "Hey, don't I know you? Didn't we spar with someone in space and you flipped out and tried to kill them? What the heck are you doing here? Why did you throw a freaking knife at me?"

As Snap flinches at the thought of nearly being smashed into, there is a stillness as her arms tense up from seeing the man before her almost certain that she’s about to met with a swift punch to the face. Yet after a few moments, nothing has happened, the frightened girl blinks and then opens her eyes and sees that he has stopped his motions and had asked her a question. Deeming it to be safe her demeanor then changes as she takes a good long look at him and flashes back to a point in time where she had fought the space pirate named “Cam.” aboard a ship on the golden fleece armada. The young girl Snaps her fingers as she remembers who he is but is then baffled since he looks as though he’s grown a lot since then and isn’t too sure what he is doing out here either. SNAP:
Hey yeah! I remember you...but you seem different. You been working out? Don’t reckon you had those muscles last time I saw you. She rubs her chin as she further examines his body.
SNAP:
And well as for me I’m just doing some hunting, looking to see if I can maybe round up a critter or two to serve up to my family I’ve been out here for hours and I’ve been met with nothing but misfortune. All my traps keep going off but nothing is staying put. My apologies by the way you were almost my next meal. You mind handin me my knife back? And by the way why’re you out here? Snap’s, extends out her palm to take back her hunting weapon, but as she does so there is a very subtle rumble in the atmosphere the small creatures of the forest begin rushing away. And the hairs on Snap’s neck begin to stand up. SNAP:
Atreus we gotta move...We’re getting close to the edge of the forest and I think we might’ve be encroaching on the territory of…
A loud roar can be heard causing the wind to pick up and the atmosphere to shake up, Snap covers her ears as the winds from it’s mighty shout nearly knocking her off balance, causing her to fall out of the tree. However, just before she hits the ground, she repositions herself in midair and manages to land on the ground properly.
SNAP:
Atreus, follow me, we need to head back towards Camp, Dino’s don’t like it when people get to close. Usually, as a warning, they’ll let out a roar to scare us but that’s all we’re gonna get now c’mon. Maybe on the way back I might run into a deer or sumthin. Walk softly we don’t wanna scare em...you look like more of city boy, you gon learn today. As the duo press on in the forest, Snap takes a good look at Atreus attire and notices that his pant leg is slightly torn. And there’s a very small scratch in the shape of a pair of jagged teeth. She activates the night vision function on her goggles and upon closer inspection realizes that they could potentially be a minor wound left behind from getting his foot caught in a bear trap.
SNAP:
Atreus...you wouldn’t happen to have gotten your foot caught in one of my traps wouldja? Those jagged marks by your ankle look mighty familiar. As they press on Snap overhears something the sounds of grass being uprooted from the ground. SNAP:
Hey, Atreus, over here… Snap gestures for Atreus to come join her as she digs her head through a nearby bush, and spots a family of deer, a Stag a doe and young fawn. SNAP:
It’s a family, a Stag a Doe and a baby Fawn. I’m gonna try and shoot the Stag since he’s got the most meat on him. Once he’s the Stag is down the Doe could try and attack us to protect her little one. Do not engage..we aren’t allowed to hunt Doe’s they’re vital to the longevity of the population. I’ll fire then you lure it away think you can do that…? Snap then quietly pulls out her rifle and takes aim at the Stag, after a moment a shot is fired, and the stag stumbles it tries to move but collapses forward from it’s injuries. The fawn seems startled but it’s mother looks around and manages to spot Snap from her scent alone and charges her. Snap leaps up into a tree in order to avoid it.
SNAP:
Try chucking a rock at it! That oughta get it’s attention! I'll work on finishing off the doe while you're gone. (Word Count 815 words.) (+2 story merits.) (Post Count 2/ Story Merit Count 4)

"Working out... yeah, you could say that."Atreus quirked an eyebrow, though that was likely hidden in the looming darkness. Atreus had been suppressing his energy at first, but at the sudden, mistaken attack, he had let his power suffuse him again. It should have been easily sensible, so why was Snap not using that ki sense? Snap's assertion that Atreus was more of a 'city boy' was certainly correct. Despite his master having lived in the mountains, and Guru Tetsuo and the Order of the Lotus residing in the Lotus Temple, deep in the Bamboo forest, Atreus was not a woodsman. When he engaged in using his martial art's assassination techniques, he could be absolutely silent. Despite his size, Atreus was ludicrously agile and could have been nimbly leaping from tree branch to tree branch without a sound or a shake of the tree to betray his presence. But most of his training had been focused on moving in urban environments, utilizing parkour and blending into crowds, peeking corners and avoiding electronic surveillance. For all that, though, Atreus was a quick study. Upon watching how Snap picked her way through the brush, Atreus quickly mimicked her movements. He had, after all, picked up a powerful movement technique simply from seeing an enemy use it against him; he hadn't been called a 'once in a century prodigy' for nothing. At the roar of the dinosaur, Atreus felt no fear. He merely nodded, following along as Snap directed. Eventually, they came across a family of deer. Atreus did not really look forward to slaughtering the animals, as Snap was suggesting, but he shrugged. He wouldn't hurt any of them himself; if Snap needed to hunt to provide for her family, who was he to judge? Judging and questioning, however, were two separate things entirely. Atreus threw the rock as Snap directed, leaving the woman to deal with the other animals as best she could. He gave her a minute, then, studiously avoiding staring at any butchery that might be occurring, Atreus spoke. "Uh, begging your pardon if this comes off as at all rude, but I have to ask, Snap... why are you hunting? You're not weak; you could pretty easily make a living doing any number of things. I used to make a living on the tournament circuit, back before I had a run of good fortune. Why don't you do the same thing? Or do you just enjoy hunting?"

As Snap examines the surrounding area and watches the doe and fawn charge off away from danger. Snap leaps down from the tree she finds herself perched on and lands on the ground below, taking a few steps toward the downed Stag whose body heaves as it draws it’s weakened breaths, it’s eyes darting around uncertain as to what’s going on as Snap appraoches the wounded creature she swiftly pulls her hunting knife out of her pocket and pets the deer on it’s stomach to calm it down. SNAP:
Sorry big fella…
Snap then quickly delivers a fatal blow to the creature’s heart and after a brief moment the stag’s eyes dialate and then after a moment it’s body delivers it’s final relaxed contraction before the forest animal finally dies. Snap then stands up and lifts up the large creature mounting him on her back.
SNAP:
To answer your question...I ain’t like you...I might have some aptitude for combat and martial arts, but I’m not on the level of someone like you. I’ve contemplated coming to terms with my latent abilities but I kinda feel like there’s no point. The only reason I do is just so I can learn to defend myself better and well, what I’ve learned to do is how to control my Ki well enough to the point where I don’t really expend much on it or rely too heavily on it. Ki is an invaluable resource and I’d rather only use it as a last resort. It’s why I carry a gun, Why burn through Ki if I don’t gotta. Thought it would be nice to learn how to fly. I love soaring through the air in my plane I wonder what it must be like doing it without assistance?
As the two of them continue their way through the forest presumably to return to Snap’s campsite, the pitter patter of appendages can be heard against the ground, Snap stops as she hears the sounds of low pitched growls. Within the bushes behind them, Snap finds herself surrounded by a wolf pack that had cornered her as she went in to finish off the downed Stag. And it would appear that Snap wasn't the only one who was angry about not having a meal the feral creatures foamed at the mouth and seemed as though they would be content with just taking a few bites out of the young hunter instead. Snap feeling a sense of danger knowing that the wolves were ready to pounce leaps into the air as the wolves mounted their attack still managing to keep the dead stag carcass up against her back. As the wolves remain preoccupied after having collided with one another Snap vanishes away toward Atreus position within the trees. SNAP:
We can finish this conversation back at camp, think you could watch my back in case any more of them hungry wolves come a chasing?.
Snap then leaps into action carrying the Stag corpse along her back as she ran across the treetops. Moving quite quickly which is to be expected for a girl her size. Nimbly moving through the treetops, branch by branch examining the grounds beneath her feet. After a while, the duo come upon a small campsite where a fire pit can be seen set up beside a large Vertibird type ship. This vessel being Snap's aforementioned plane from earlier, Elliot. Upon landing on the ground with the stag on her back. A small shutter opens revealing a red lens with an iris in the center that shines bright red moving about until it pinpoints Snap. SNAP:Elliot, I'm home, open up, please! Oh, I brought us a guest you mind scanning him in? This here is Atreus!ELLIOT:But of course, Captain. As the iris moves over and focuses it's scanners on Atreus through it's infrared vision, it begins to scan a laser across his body from his face down to his feet. SNAP:You are just the best Elliot. Atreus you just stay put, I'll be out in just a moment. I hope you know how to fish.Snap then enters inside of her ship after an entrance ramp drops down from the backside of the ship, more than likely to cut up the dead meat and deposit it inside of a freezer to store for her family to eat later. Outside the ship, however, the moonlight reflects off of the calm lake water as small fish can be seen splashing about, with others being visible from the surface of the water should one inspect it rather closely. And if one were to look to the skies one could potentially notice a large pterodactyl casually soaring overhead. Nature out in the mountaineer region was dangerous but had it's moments of beauty whenever it went undisturbed. But why someone would want to live this type of life is anyone's guess as it surely wasn't for everyone. (843 words.) (+2 story merits.) (Post Count 3/SM Count 6) Atreus

Atreus nodded assent to most of Snap's questions. He of course would guard her from any scavengers or predators, and he did indeed know how to fish. He wasn't an expert by any means, but he had fished to clear his mind on more than one occasion. Atreus chewed on her words for a while, mulling them over. "I don't know about that whole resource hoarding mindset you've got going on there, Snap. I mean, I wouldn't disagree; ki is invaluable, for sure. But it's not something finite. The more you use it, the more skilled and powerful you become."Atreus rose an eyebrow as Snap mentioned not being able to fly. That was one of the most basic tricks a ki user could put off. He wasn't judging her, he was just sort of shocked that she had yet to puzzle out how to do so. Still, he followed along. He was a bit weirded out by 'Elliot', and he asked the obvious question. "Um... so... this ship just scanned me. Why are you scanning me, exactly?"It's not that Atreus was entirely opposed to the idea. He had been scanned my the military before, while sparring with Audrey, but he had known that that would be occurring. Aya

As Snap enters the ship there is a hush as Elliot scans Atreus into the ship. The ambience of nature providing some background noise during the moment of silence. ELLIOT:
The scanning process is a measure put in place by the captain in order to designate who is and is not allowed to interact with me and enter the ship. This protocol was put in place as a precautionary measure in order to prevent theft. And thought you are not within my quarters I am compelled to say Welcome aboard, Atreus.
After a moment Snap exits out of her ship after a quick change of clothes, holding a capsule in her hands. Wearing a pair of camo shorts and a black t shirt with a small camo scarf around her neck and a pair of tennis shoes her hair is also tied up. She watches as Elliot continues to scan Atreus. SNAP:
Y'all having fun getting acquainted? She steps off of the latch of the ship and walks towards Atreus.
And well if you’re why I have this put in place well simply put, I’m not trying to have him get hijacked, like my last ship, so he only allows on people I trust. The scanning mechanism is basically how he gets to know you think of like when a dog sniffs someone before letting you pet em. It essentially his way of granting you permission to board it also records your name and face as way of keeping you in his memory so he doesn’t have to do it a second time. A database if you will.
Snap then exits her ship and tosses Atreus a fishing rod. As she continues walking hoping that he’d follow along.
SNAP:
So about that Ki thing, what’dya mean. Ki may be limitless, but we only have so much before we run out and are just relying on flesh and blood am I right? And in my case, I’m not really the sturdiest thing in the world if you can’t tell by my small frame.
She carries the rod in her hand and once she reaches the lakefront she drops the capsule on the ground and suddenly a small push boat appears, Snap slides on in, and works on making certain that her fishing rod is working like it should. Inside the boat, there’s a small tackle box with an assortment of fish bait, most of it plastics and rubbers. Snap not the biggest fan of using live bait as the idea of wrangling the insects to her is a tedious task. As she waits for Atreus to head inside she looks out up at the moon, the sight relaxes her, she then looks over to Atreus as she looks to him.
SNAP:
But what you’re telling me is that the more I use the better I understand it? I figured I had a good hand on it, by trying to conserve it and use it very precisely but I have been thinking about maybe taking another crack at it. How bout this I teach you how to rough it in the woods and you teach me how to really go all out? I have been working on a new technique. I call it the Super Ki Geyser, big ol spectacle you should see it. Once I figure it out that is.
She jokes, stretching her hands out in front of her face as she describes the words “Super Ki Geyser.” as a means of punctuating its grandeur in her mind.
But with nice muscles like yours, I imagine you’re more of an up close and personal type of fighter rather than little ol me who kinda likes to avoid fighting...who resorts to running and hiding?(634 words.) (+2 SM) (Post Count 4/ SM Count 8)

Atreus rubbed his hand on his neck, considering Snap's offer. It wasn't a bad idea; Atreus could definitely stand to learn some woodcraft, and he did like teaching. Hell, he always learned something when he taught someone, so he shrugged and nodded. "Sure, why the hell not?"Before continuing on in any way, Atreus nodded over to Elliot. "Thanks for the kind welcome. That does make sense; especially if you had your ship stolen before, it's good to have safeguards in place. Anyway. About ki. You're right that you have to be careful about how much you spend in a fight; running out will leave us weak and exhausted. But it's a lot better to train how to use it constantly, since that way you're used to the stress of it. It's like anything else; the more you practice, the better you get."Atreus also smirked a bit when she mentioned his fighting style. "While I definitely do favor physical attacks, my style of combat might surprise you a bit. I'm actually a pretty competent counter fighter. Sure, I'm big and strong, but I'm fast and skilled, too. All the muscle in the world won't do you much good if you're just absorbing punishment, so... you know. I try to not."Aya

Snap leans herself back to make room for him looking back at him, with a small smirk of her own as he takes his seat on one end of the boat in order to even things out. SNAP:
Well aren’t you special...well let’s see if today we can put those arms a yours to use for something a little more practical for life. He’s your first lesson, you ready, watch and learn. Hop on in and give the boat a bit of a push wouldja?
Snap seemed somewhat impressed by his skill but would be more impressed if he could prove to be a capable hunter. As she turns her attention to her rod opens up her tackle box and picks out a piece of rubber bait, she taps it to make sure it’s sturdy and then attaches it to her line. After a moment she pulls back her rod and then violently jerks it forward sending the fishing hook far out into the lake, the splash causes a small ripple along the water. Then there is a silence. SNAP:
Real simple like, you put the bait on the rod and chuck your line, don’t put too much force behind it you don’t wanna toss your rod right outta yer hand now. Once it’s on the water keep your hands firmly on the rod. And just have some patience the critter don’t always come at a moments notice.
After a second Snap feels a tug, on her rod. She grips it forcefully as the fish tries to pry away the bait the medium sized bass tugging furiously at the lure that our little fisherman has laid out. Snap braces herself and leans back to distribute her weight and not capsize the boat, as she pulls at her rod, rapidly reeling in the fish as it tugs at the line. However despite this Snap makes it seem a lot easier than it looks.
SNAP:
Fiesty one ain’t cha!
Snap continues to reel in the rod getting ever closer to bringing this little critter on home and as it gets closer to the boat. Snap reels it on up, and the near 3 foot long fish who seems to be about a full sized as Atreus chest. It jerks and violently flails about, seemingly gasping for air. Snap give it a moment before the fish finally gets tuckered out before placing it inside of a cooler where it can finally die.
SNAP:
Hoo...think you can do that about 5 times. This here cooler can fit about 10 fish. And catching 5 between us shouldn’t be too hard. Unless you don’t think you’re up to the challenge city boy.
She jokes as she leers back at her whilst applying a new lure to her rod preparing to catch her next fish.
SNAP:
All jokes aside, shouldn’t be too hard for a beginner, just uhh don’t stand up when you’re trying to catch it. I’d rather not have the boat tip over, okay muscles? Oooh! I think I got me another one!
“FSSSSSSZZZZH” Goes Snap’s reel as the wire is stretched thin her feet can be heard tapping against the ground as she does her best to hold on to her rod and reel in her next catch, trying not to stand out of fear of fumbling over.
SNAP:
Looks like I picked a pretty lively spot. Ohh...and…
A large splash can be heard as Snap pulls her next catch out of the water. As it seizures about struggling for air, Snap tosses it within the cooler her hands a tad moist from the slippery skin of the Bass.
SNAP:
You got your work cut out for you city boy. I’ve already got two down. I hope you can keep up.
She turns her back to him and steels herself to catch her next fish. Partly curious to see how his handles the situation, glancing back at him in briefly to see what he’ll do.
SNAP: (Thoughts.)
Wonder how he’s gonna handle this, should be interesting to see. (697 words.) (SM +2) (Post Count: 5/ SM Count 10)

Atreus shrugged, acquiescing to Snap's request. Atreus was able, with his ki enhanced physiology, to easily provide the necessary push. As the boat drifted out into the water, Atreus readied his rod, baited the hook, then made ready to cast out the line. He was no expert fisherman, but he was incredibly dexterous, and had been called a 'once in a century prodigy' on more than one occasion. Atreus was capable of picking up complex fighting techniques after observing them only one time; mimicking the act of casting a line into the water was nowhere near too complex for the skilled warrior. Before he actually let loose with the line, Atreus concentrated, reaching out with his finely tuned senses. Snap had been right; she had picked a good spot. There were plenty of spots teeming with aquatic life. Using his ki sense to determine where the most densely packed pockets of fish were, Atreus aimed for one of those areas and then cast out his line. Atreus watched as he hit his mark and the lure disappeared beneath the surface of the water. Almost immediately, he was rewarded by a tugging sensation, and he carefully began to reel in his catch. Atreus was able to handily get his fish, and he quickly baited his hook once more and aimed for the same spot. Again, he got a bite almost immediately, and swiftly reeled in his prize, equaling Snap's current number. He glanced over at Snap, eyebrow slightly raised and a grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Beginner's luck, I guess. So tell me a little more about yourself, Snap. What were you doing at the Crusher Corps that day? If you're not so interested in ki and fighting, it seems like the Golden Fleece Armada is kind of a weird place for a hunter to end up."Atreus tone was light and conversational. There was no judgment; he really was just curious. "Me, I was looking for allies. And access to better training and tech. I have some crazy shenanigans going on that I've had to train pretty unreasonably to be able to deal with, so that's why I was there. That was only my second time off planet... and it was way better than the first time."Atreus shivered as the memory of the events on Brench, of his meeting with the horrific Majin Gargan, resurfaced. They were still upsetting. Atreus fell quiet then, waiting for Snap to respond as Atreus reeled in his third fish.

As the fish swam below their feet causing a slight rumble beneath the boat, Snap couldn’t help but look back rather astonished at the level of ease at which Atreus was able to pick up the task of fishing, now mind you Snap had a stroke of talent for fishing as well when she was a child, but Atreus made is look even easier for someone who had never done it before. However, instead of cracking a small smile she was merely dumbfounded. “Now how’d you go and do that?” The young huntress said as she watched his two fish squirm inside of his hands and then be released into the sloppy bucket, which was beginning to take on a bit of an odor. “That was some slick work for somebody who ain’t never even so much as touched a rod before.” Snap felt a tug on her line after a moment. And began to reel in yet another fish. “Honestly I’spose I shouldn't be complaining none too much. The more you catch the more we can eat? You are staying for dinner right? You’ve earned it afterall, anybody who went this far out of their way for me, is surely welcome at my dinner table.”
Snap then begins counting up the number of fish the duo have rounded up over the short period of time since they began fishing. “1...2...3...4...5…cool, at this rate we’ll only need about another 5 more. Think you can do that for me? I’ll keep rounding up some more as well.” As the two continue to reel in some more fish. There is a silence, and then Snap remembers that Atreus had asked her something earlier, her face turns a tad red. “And uhh well...as for before the reason as to why I was on that ship that day was cause I was helping out a friend, I was sweet on her, see and I figured I’d do all I could to help her. Even if it meant dealing a group of individuals who at the time...I had thought to be the ones who wrecked my old ship about a year back. I wasn't thinking straight and I only wanted to do two things and that was protect her and then when I saw that man who trained us, I lost it cause just a few days priot he was nearly responsible for nearly wrecking my current ship, Elliot the one you just met. Again, I wasn't thinking straight that day and uhh, sorry if I scared ya I'm usually not like that.the silence continues with all that can be heard being the sounds of the night winds and the occasional growl from the birds of prey that can be heard in the skies. Snap demeanor grew a tad solemn it had been some time since she had even spoken this particular girl in question. And hadn't heard from her in quite some time in fact when last they spoke she had promised to give her a chance, with Snap hoping it would've led to a romantic relationship but due to her abscence it led Snap to wondered what must’ve happened to her and over time has slowly given up hope that any potential for a relationship. The two girls had been very close companions of but two had been apart for so long now that even their friendship may have suffered a toll in the process. As a result Snap sort of continued about her life without her as normal but had never really had much of a reason to really remember her up until now even if she does still deeply care for her. Besides with her financial situation still in dire straits and her family struggling for food she had little reason to care for romantic pursuits. For now was focused on herself and her family temporarily putting her own happiness on hold. With that being said, Snap let out something of an audible sigh, as she thought back to more auspicious times. (689 words.) (Post Count 6/ SM Count 12.) Atreus

Atreus quirked an eyebrow and offered Snap a smirk. "Now, at what point did I say I had never been fishing before?"As he spoke, Atreus cast his line back into the water, aiming for another dense pocket of fish." "My dad took me a lot when I was a kid. He's a scientist, and he liked to get away from time to time. Kept him grounded, he said. Getting into nature, engaging in the cycle of life. Took him out of the realm of the theoretical and experimental to remind him why he was doing what he was doing."Memories of those long ago excursions brought a smile to Atreus face as he remembered his first sip of beer that his father allowed him while on a boat. He had thought it was disgusting. He still did, but that was because his father insisted on drinking only light domestic crap instead of the craft brews that Atreus preferred. "To be honest, though, we never caught many fish. But the lakes and mountains we visited... man, such views. Such peace. Probably a big part of the way I am now. Anyway, to tell you the truth... I'm kind of cheating right now. You could too, if you wanted."Atreus glanced over at Snap. "It's all ki use. It's not just for flying around at half the speed of light and punching down buildings... although that's sort of awesome in my book. At it's core, ki is just life energy. Every living thing, no matter how 'powerful' in the way that we fighters normally define that term, has life energy. Sensing it gets easier the stronger you get, if you're smart and hone your senses along with your muscles. By focusing on the pockets of life in the water, the ones that are all grouped together and moving around, I'm finding where there are pockets of fish. Kind of like an advanced sonar system, I guess."To prove his point, Atreus reeled in his rod at that moment, displaying the fish that he had just caught with little difficulty. "Only a few more now! And yeah, I'd love to stay for dinner. Don't worry about me getting scared; I don't frighten easily. It was just, uh, a little surprising since I thought we were all there for a friendly spar. I can see how Cam might be a little difficult to deal with though. He and I are tight, but he's a mercenary through and through, so I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up having to fight one another one day... and then going to get a beer afterwards."AyaWC- 449 6/+5

As Snap looked toward Atreus in awe of his skill with a fisherman's rod. And reflected on his words she had come to remember the things that she had been teaching herself over time feeling as thought a lot of it had gone straight out the window with Atreus's words maybe she had been wrong to try and learn the art of ki control from a scientific perspective and should simply accept it for what it is. As a result. Snap simply calmed herself and focused being all to familiar with the trick Atreus was referring to having learned it while she was in high school since the inner city schools could afford to have martial arts instructors in their classes and needed to take one as a physical education requirement. And despite not learning any combat technique's she was quite adept in Ki control. Snap took a deep breath and focused on her surroundings allowing her to feel out all of the ki her field of vision extending 360 degrees. With this degree of concentration, Snap was now able to see all of the ambient ki in the atmosphere. She was attempting to focus on the fish but then felt an even stronger presence coming from nearby. She then felt a shiver down her spine as she recognized the presence as coming from Atreus himself. Unable to quiet down the intensity she felt. She broke out of her state of focus. And returned to fishing. "Just who am I sharing a boat with, I should be more scared of him then he should of me."
She thought to herself. As Snap attempted to regain her concentration. She felt a tug on her line and reeled in the small aquatic critter on the other end. She attempted to pull the fish off the line but nearly missed upon throwing it in the cooler. She looked back at Atreus as she shut the cooler. "Welp, looks like we got all we needed now. Let's uhh head on back. You just kick back and I'll row us into shore kay?" Snap said as she positions herself. self down at the back end of the boat and began to row then back towards the shore. As the oar sloshed the water, Snap kept inadvertently staring at Atreus not sure of how to address the elephant in the room as to how he got so strong. She'd never felt a power like that one before and was very curious as to who he really was he seemed so down to Earth so calm yet he was hiding a power like that. To her it was simply astounding, however, she was too scared to ask thinking it was a strange question. However, after some time and a little mental deliberation, the little hunter managed to muster up the courage and finally open her trap. "Hey uhh, Atreus...? How'd ya get so strong? Your power level is crazy high it almost scared me out the dang boat." As Snap reached the shore of the boat. She looked up at the sky and watched as some of the night creatures flew by. "Living out here in the countryside we don't really see too many people. But even in all my wildest adventures, I don't think I've ever met anyone as powerful as you." She looked to him with a look of intrigue on her face as she sat in the boat not wanting to leave the ship until she got a definitive answer. Dropping the oars and looking to him with a dumbfounded look on her face. "I uh, hope that ain't an awkward question to ask, uhh feel free to ignore me." The young pilot now feeling a tad bashful since even though she mustered up the courage to speak her mind she was still never the less embarrassed to have still done so. (648 Words.) Atreus rolled his shoulder, then raked a hand through his thick black hair. He offered a somewhat sardonic, self deprecating grin. He was sort of getting used to this. Caffey had had a very similar reaction to him when they had met. Even before he'd gotten so strong, Atreus had always been about the size of a barn door. Intimidating kind of went with the territory, so he had, for years, done his level best to go with the 'gentle giant' routine. At least this wasn't new territory. "Nah, it's okay. Honestly, I get that a lot. I've had some pretty wild adventures... hell, I even beat a Super Saiyan once. But you're not asking about my exploits... you're asking how I got this strong. The answer is... a lot of really, really unreasonably training. For a couple of months, I pushed my body to the absolute limit. I should probably not be standing here right now. More than likely, I should be in a wheelchair, or dead. I've traveled the galaxy, learning esoteric teleportation techniques. I've defeated ancient demon lords for relics to location spells... that is not hyperbole at all. I stood against an army of thousands with three other companions, and we won. I met a cannibalistic monster on Brench that I still have nightmares about. I competed in a deadly tournament that forever changed me. I've visited Other World in the flesh to learn arcane secrets. And day in and day out, I have trained and battled and fought and bled. I learned how to use ki to heal wounds simply to keep my body from falling apart. I planned the assault to take a planet back against the Saiyan Dominion. Through each of these experiences, I've fought, and I've learned. I haven't always won, believe me, but defeat can be one of the greatest teachers that there is."Atreus fell silent for a moment, pondering. "Well... that's the how. But I guess the 'why' is even more important. I've never been interested in power for power's sake. But my Master... well, he was taken from me. He might be dead. I hope he's not. I believe he's not, but I have no way of knowing for sure. And what took him is an ancient, powerful enemy. Everything I've done has been to get strong enough to take her on... until a couple of weeks ago. When I fought that army. That was when I think I really learned what my power was for."Atreus glanced down at his open hand, then clenched it into a fist before looking back at Snap. "I guess I just figured out that there is right and wrong in this universe, and it's not hard to figure out which is which. There are plenty out there that will do the wrong thing. That will take for themselves no matter who they hurt along the way. And I find myself in a position to have the strength to stop that from happening. Knowing that... I can't just stand by. I thought I could, once. It wasn't my problem, right? I had a goal and I had to fulfill it. But the more I get out in the universe, the more I see, the more I really do come to believe one simple truth. All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. I don't know if I'm a good man... there's blood on my hands, and some of it is the blood of good people. But I'm at least trying to not be evil and just... do what's right."Atreus' face twisted, sudden embarrassment bringing a flush to his cheeks. "Ah, damn, sorry... I sort of rambled there. I can wax poetic about this kind of stuff sometimes. I've had a lot of time to think about it."

Snap listens in on Atreus's words and hears the passion in his speech and hangs on to his every word, but does her best to avoid staring. As she does so she Snap's out of her daze and reaches for her cooler which she then tosses to him. "Well with training like that, holding on to this here fishing cooler should be nothing to ya huh?" She jokes as she sends the cooler his way. His words remind her of someone else she used to know a while back and it's enough to make her smile. "I bet you're a wonder in the ring." She smirks. "Erm, don't take that the wrong way or anything..." She says correcting herself hoping not to give her new found friend the wrong idea. She scratches behind her head seeming a tad bashful as she scurries toward her ship. Her heart racing as her body shakes with anxiety. Upon realizing how fearsome Atreus Ki is, she begins to make even more of a mad dash toward her ship keeping her lips sealed as she stops in front of it. "Man, why am I so gosh darn turreble with words." Snap then stops to think. "Maybe I'm overreacting, I'm sure he thought nothing of it." As the ship recognizes it's captain Elliot drops the latch down and the bright lights of the inside of the ship can be seen from a ways away. "Hey Atreus, over here!" Snap raises her arms waving to him from in the distance. However through all seems quiet suddenly the sounds of a flock of ptyredactly's can be heard as a massive one flies out from behind a tree passing dangerously close to Snap. She ducks as the large wind it carries causes her jacket to sway in the wind. She then watches it fly away with a quizzical look on her face wondering what could've been the cause of such a ruckus. When suddenly a large pounding can be heard, enough to rattle the ground the duo walk on. Snap's eyes widen as a massive T-Rex emerges from the forest knocking down many of them in the process. Snap pushes a button on the side of her ship in order to capsulize it, as the massive pile of smoke fills the area. In the chaos, and whilst using the smoke as a cover. But ss Snap thinks to make a break for it and run she instead she has a better plan she sizes up the beast and looks around spotting a tall a tree which she scales using her impressive speed Upon reaching the height necessary to be at eye level of the beasts once she tosses a knife at the beasts head, her hand glowing with electricity as she sends some of her Ki into the weapon as it strikes the reptilian monster right between the eyes. After seeing the knife land, Snap then focuses herself by looking at the back of her palm and closing her eyes and as she does so small surges of electricity. And as she focuses the sparks become more intense the T-Rex then continues to roar however less of an intimidating battle cry and more of a wail of anguish as the body of the beast begins to shake violently from the electricity surging throughout it body. After a moment it would appear that the surge of electricity is actually emitting from Snap's knife which is in control of the charge. Snap continues to focus clasping her palms together as if in prayer, and after a moment the beast collapses it's eyes barely open Snap opens her eyes and sees that the beast has now passed on. She drops down from the tree, and removes the knife from the creature's head and then pats it. "Sorry fella, it was you or me." As Snap walks past the now deceased creature to Atreus's location she drops down another capsule this time having a much smaller two-person bi-plane appear. Which she hops inside of, and pulls back a lever to activate the engine. "I was hoping we could have a nice ride back but after that close call, I'd rather us get out of here in a hurry. She's not as sturdy but can get up to top speeds a lot faster. This here's Elliana. Now c'mon just keep the guppies in your lap kay."After a moment the propeller on the front end of the ship begins to rotate making a loud undescribable noise in the process. Eventually, with enough lift, they manage to make their way off of the ground, the plane soaring through the night sky and though the ship is loud Snap is still able to communicate to Atreus by raising her voice. "Told ya Dinosaur territory was dangerous! Some fishing trip huh!?"(804 words.) (Post Count: 8/ SM Count: 16) Atreus

Atreus grinned. During the entire altercation, he had shown no signs of fear. Truth be told, despite it's size and fearsome maw and claws, the T-Rex wasn't even a blip on Atreus' radar. What it lacked in terms of danger, though, reared it's head as excitement in the young man. "Definitely never a dull moment!"As Snap had surmised, the weight of the cooler may as well have been nonexistent for the powerful Earthling. He easily hefted the load and kept it steady as Snap produced another vehicle. "I can't wait for you to show me your skill as a pilot! I'll keep this secure... show me a thing or two, let's put this sucker through it's paces!"Atreus did want to experience that, for several reasons. First of all... he was still a young man. Despite his ability to fly, putting a powerful plane through some tricks would be exhilarating. Beyond that, he wanted to get a better grasp for Snap's capabilities. She had proven herself able to utilize her ki in battle with the dinosaur, so she had at least a rudimentary control of that. Despite that, that was no guarantee of martial skill. Some people were powerful in ki without ever having had proper martial training. This way, he would get to see how good Snap's reflexes and coordination were. Aya

As Snap takes the wheel of her little Biplane and starts the engine, the propeller of her ship begins to gain some spin and after a moment the small ship gains some lift after trailing on the ground it takes off. The wind beneath their feet carrying them above the tall trees giving them a grand view of the dinosaur valley in the distance. “Let’s take a bit of a detour!” Snap increases the speed of the plane and speeds towards dinosaur valley passing by numerous denizens in the area. With Pterodactyls flying by and long neck dino’s beneath their feet. The scally creatures roaring out to them as they fly by. “Golly I love this view.” Snap says as she takes in the beauty of the landscape. “Ya know, muscles I’m glad we got powerful people like you lying around. I’d hate to see something happen to this pretty little planet of ours. I’m glad we gots someone like you to protect it.” Snap says looking back at Atreus with a degree of sincerity. As their detour through dinosaur valley concludes she rotates the ship a few degrees in order to turn through the air taking back in the direction from whence they originally came. Getting a much better view of the forest that they had been bungling around inside of just a few moments ago.
The moon reflecting off of the water, and many small forest animals drinking from it noticing Snap’s plane and fleeing out of confusion. After a while, they pass over a tall mountain range and enter a large valley where a small shop can be seen as a spec twinkling with lights in the distance. “Home sweet home!” Snap then begins her descent lowering their altitude until they close enough to nearly touching the landing strip, Snap then engages the lower wheels of the ship which gently touch the ground as Snap’s propeller dies down and the ship comes to a stop. “And here we are.” Snap exits the ship outside of her humble home. A small mechanic shop with a sign that reads “Ginger Family Auto Shop.” spelled out on the top of the store in large red letters. Beside it is a large barn house where Snap keeps her supplies for her ship as well as ammunition for her rifle. Snap walks over to it and drops down a capsule, and when the smoke clears her primary ship Elliot appears. Snap enters inside and pulls out a crate of fish. “C’mon now muscles we got fish to haul inside. I can even introduce ya to my momma and daddy.” Snap says as she enters inside.
However, before Atreus can move a woman standing behind him can be seen standing behind him. “Well, Well, Well, bringing home boys now Snappy? Make up your mind is it men or is women ya like honey?” Her mother jokes. Snap blushes as she exits the ship with a cooler full of fish. “Ma, why you gotta be thinking I’m shacking up with everyone I bring home.” Snap retorts as she drops down the cooler. Snap’s mother jokes as she walks in front of Atreus in order to introduce herself. “Name’s Alley sweetie, nice to meet you.” She says as she extends out her hand. Her face exuding a degree of warmth but also firmness in her eyes as she looks to the young lad. As this exchange continues, Snap continues re-entering the ship to bring out the fish,a thudding of the coolers hitting the ground can be heard as each one hits the ground.

Atreus shrugged his shoulder at Snap's words. It was a compliment, but he wasn't sure how to take it. Of course he defended the world whenever it was necessary; this was his home, too, and Atreus would not allow anything to happen to hit, not if it was in his power to stop it. Atreus listened and acquiesced to Snap's request to haul in the fish. Atreus grinned a bit as Snap's mother made herself known. Atreus easily hefted the cooler sent to him by Snap, holding it in one hand and shaking Alley's hand with the other. He shook it gently but firmly; Atreus was all to aware of what his strength could do to normal human beings, and he had no desire to hurt anyone. "Pleased to meet you, Alley. My name is Atreus. I have to say, this is a neat place you've got here. I like living away from the hustle and bustle of the city myself. Thanks for the warm greeting!"Atreus looked around. Anyone who was observing the man closely would have seen his eyes flicking back and forth, searching the shadows for any sign of movement. His recent experiences on Planet Pepper and Kabocha had led to Atreus being far more cautious; he knew all to well how easily someone could creep through the night to perform dark deeds. Hell, he had been one of the ones doing that, so he had become far more cautious than he used to be. Atreus had good reason to be cautious; he was, after all, something of a marked man. Even though his identity was, he thought, still a secret from the Galactic Empire, he had the sneaking suspicion that it was only a matter of time before they realized that Atreus and Heimdall were the same person. When they did... well, Atreus had seen firsthand the type of game that Polaris liked to play, and he knew that he would not be safe. Atreus paused for a moment before entering, breathing in. The mountain air was cool and crisp as it hit his nose. As he entered the dwelling, however, he was greeted with the scent of oil and engines, a sure sign of the work that occurred at the auto shop. Atreus was momentarily curious; this was pretty out of the way, so he wondered how they got any business. He thought it would be rude to ask... but then again, maybe that's why Atreus and Snap had just caught a bunch of fish. He smiled over at Snap. "So you're my competition for the ladies, huh?" he asked affably.

Snap blushes a tad upon hearing Atreus's statement and then looks to him. "Well, I mean that is true, but I can see why my fairer sex would have eyes for someone like yourself." Snap says in a joking manner, as she picks up one of the last remaining coolers and heads into her home where a door would open with a large man exiting out with his eyes on Atreus rather than his daughter. "Sorry son we're closed...I'm afraid you'll have too..." As He heads down the stairs to shoo him out, Snap enters inside. "Don't worry Papa he's with me!" Snap says as she enters into the room. "And look what we brought home!" Snap says as she opens up the cooler revealing a stock pike of fish. "Nice work Snappy! I knew we could count on you. I'll go started on it in a minute I'm guessing your friend here was helping you out? Nice to meet you son names Root." He says looking back at the young muscular man.
"He sure did this here's Atreus," Snap says looking to her new found friend. "He's a heck of a fisherman." she says. Snap picks her cooler back up and gestures for Atreus to follow along. As the duo head through an open door which leads into their kitchen/living room area Snap sets down the fish on the counter in the kitchen. This part of their home rather dilapidated since they don't spend too much time here, their couch and small television filled with dust. "Just leave em here Atreus. Papa'll get to em in a minute." Snap then walks towards the patio door visible at the end of the room in order to unlock it. "C'mon Muscles, let's take a seat on the patio. It's gonna reek of fish in here in a good minute." Snap says as she slides open the patio door. "Hope you like Fish Atreus!" Root calls out as he enters into the room and turns on a faucet. Upon stepping outside the night sky is lit up with stars. As Snap takes a seat beside a picnic table on out on her families back porch. Snap sets her head down on the table seemingly tired from all the hunting. However she keeps her eyes open and drearily looks off into the distance looking back towards Atreus. "Hoo, it has been a heck of a day huh, but at least we get to eat. Thank again muscles..."

Atreus sat down, thanking Snap's parents for their hospitality. The few girls he'd dated had said he'd been prefect boyfriend material for parents; well mannered, well spoken and polite. He kept that streak alive here, charming Snap's parents, seeing if there was anything he could do to help with food preparations.
The night passed slowly, with pleasant small talk. Atreus was asked about what he did, to which he replied that he was an athlete. When pressed, he said he made his money as a fighter. It wasn't exactly the current, total truth, but it was what he had done for most of his adult life. It was sort of weird to bring up in conversation that you lived in a palace and had vast wealth from ancient treasures hoarded by a demon king.
As the night wound down, Snap's parents excused themselves, and Atreus spoke with Snap. Their conversation was not long, but Atreus did tell her that he thought she had potential. Atreus understood why she was uninterested in the more sort of grand spectacle side of being a ki user; she had a good life here, with good people that she loved. Atreus had no wish to disabuse her of the life she had, but he did extend an invitation to Snap to come and train with him. The Crusher Corps was a shadow of it's former self, and Atreus had long since realized the dubious morals of it's leaders. Atreus liked Snap, though, and he hoped she would accept his offer. After all, one should always be able to protect what they hold dear.
