Major General Standish, Commanding Officer, Central City Reclamation Mission (Operation: Crater Lake)
Perhaps as a means to curb the stress of having to put up with the current circumstances, the general reclines into a lazy couch and has his legs crossed. In his right hand, he keeps a lit cigarette, and even his cap sits unaligned on his head.
Clearly, he has not had the best day. "I can tell you two things: One, those conspiracy theorists claiming this to be some sort of zombie plague don't know what they're talking about. We checked all these people for any sort of contamination on the very first day. They're alive, and they're clean. I dunno how it happened, but that's the Honest to Hercule truth."
He takes a deep drag before blowing it out in a slow puff. "Two, yes, His Majesty was part of this miraculous mass resurrection. We picked him up on the first day. The problem is, instead of being concerned for his own safety, he's been going out into the refugee camps everyday, personally distributing the rations along with inspirational speeches." He speaks with some degree of respect, yet somehow manages to sneak in just a pinch of annoyance. "It's great for morale, but we have to remind him every time that the people in these camps include hardened criminals being kept at Central Penitentiary. If he keeps getting up close and personal, one of these days, someone is just going to shank him."
The general rubs his forehead. "As of now, we've been keeping him in the crater for his protection. Until we've figured out an explanation for this, there's no telling what the loonies out there might do if we put 'King Zombie' in his new office." He picks up a glass of some strong spirit and takes a sip. "Which leads us to our current predicament. His Majesty went out with his escorts for his daily good deed, to Camp 44 in what used to be the Industrial District. At approximately 0912, we lost contact, and deployed a rapid reaction team to extract him. We also lost contact... after they blurted out something about 'zombies'."
He takes another sip. "This was the last footage we got from them before losing contact."
HUDcam footage comes into view, with soldiers retreating from a mass of the modern depiction of the undead - fast and furious.
"I don't know where they came from. But these so-called 'zombies' might put the King back six feet under, if they don't turn him into one of them. We're already working to quarantine the area, but we need you to extract His Majesty and any survivors you can." He puts a hand to his mouth as if to whisper, his eyes briefly shifting to either side as he stoops over the camera. "Something smells fishy here. Call it a gut feeling, but I don't think I can trust anyone at the base. That's why I need your help. Don't let anyone know what you're up to. Just meet me in Outsector 6 pronto. His Majesty's second life rests in your hands."
Major General Standish of the Earth Military needs help to rescue King Ches from what looks like a zombie outbreak in one of the Central City Crater's refugee camps! As he suspects something to be going on at the base behind his back, he has opted to contact YOU, instead of relying on his men.
This event will grant YANG for successfully saving the King and any survivors you might also help escape the nightmarish hell that is the camp.
Event will start on 27th April, or when the Nanohorde Event ends, whichever comes first. THIS IS NOT FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Players will be selected based on activity levels. A Power Level of AT LEAST 50,000 is suggested.
This event is DEADLY.
