Like other Frieza Force, he stands in the tall and broad shouldered, a proud and menacing smirk etched into his face when dealing with anything that isn't a threat, though these days his is more of a frown. To cover his form, he wears the standard uniform of the force, a double pauldroned battle dress accustomed to the Saiyan armor style, with a sky blue color, the large pauldrons and rib section a creme, and a white outline. His variant sports the leg and crotch plates visible on other notable soldiers such as Raspberry, as well as an undersuit with a dark blue tone. On his hands and feet are the standard whites, made of a glove like material like his armor. Unlike higher level soldiers, he dons the helmet that blaster guard typically do, an all white, sealed helmet except for a plate sitting above the visor and extending upwards, the color the same as his undersuit. The type can vary, but he was last seen in a scouter variant, a green scouter visible over his left eye. In typical fashion, a cord running from the right side of his helmet to a bulbous, purple cannon that rests on his right arm, his fist tightly wrapped around its grip under the barrel.
His face is seen by most and is all many have to go by in terms of recognizing him, as the rest of his body is covered. A serious looking face, his grey pupils are small, like his peers, and hardened. His nose is rounded with only a prominent end, possible the softest feature of his face. Underneath the helmet, he has a rounded jaw. Typically the chin of the helmet hides this. It also hides his dark brown hair, messy and pressed to his head due to his long amount of time under the helmet.
MOTIVATIONS:
Dewberry was from the same planet many other near Human soldiers in the PTO's ranks were from. Like his fellow xenos, he had a different reason for joining the Planet Trade Organization. Wanting a career that gave him action at a young age, he quickly and naively joined the military branch after his physical exam results hitting the requirements and allowing passage into the Frieza Force. After a few hours, his motivation changed to maintaining the policies of the Frieza Force, recognizing that many would criminalize him on the spot for being part of such a tyrannical organization, even if he was unaware of the more tyrannical actions conducted by its members when joining.
QUIRKS:
A literal person, wit is not something he has. While he can understand jokes as well as other banter, dry humor is often hard for him to recognize. As well as this, he also shares the aggression the Frieza Force soldiers are known for, falling back on it whenever intellect fails him.
BONDS:
Dewberry served as one of two Lieutenants to the Acrosians Frostbight, bow deceased. He also knew Captain Currant, his first commanding officer before he was executed for his failure to tactically handle the second campaign he participated in, but he didn't know them well.
In terms of others, he is one good terms with his peers, but not to the point of an unbreakable pact. Like everyone else, he knows that survival is the number one thing. Though after spending so much time stranded, he does look out for his men more than he used to.
BACKSTORY:
Dewberry started out his life in under the regime of Frieza's Forces. By the time of his conception, the treaty between the planet and the Planet Trade Organization had been signed, placing it under the PTO's 'protection'. As standard practice, space travel was relegated only to members of the military force under the PTO, as well as any and all fighting groups that didn't please loyalty to the Acrosians be dissolved. This would set the basis for his life, as well as many others of the generations after the deal.
Dewberry was raised with emphasis of glory and riches through service. Those who were accepted to the Frieza Force came back stronger and able to do insane feats, though they only ever came back on leave. Dewberry was less convinced by the recruiters to join, rather idolizing the idea of fighting as well as traversing space. Extremely eager to do so, he joined as soon as he was considered an adult, passing the physical exams like every other from his planet that applied. His career path choice was already decided on by him before he even knew other options existed. Jumping straight into the blaster guard program, the only combat program for his race.
Training was rough and the drillers worked them to death to keep the standards, their jobs, and their lives. While hand to hand combat was easy to learn, it was when he had to utilize ki to fly in flight training that he ran into serious issues. His race historically were numb to ki and its uses and he was no exception. Barely passing the flying tests, he would be admitted into the full fighting force as the lowest entrance level rank.
Throughout his time training off world, he learned that getting into a unit under an Acrosian was how you saw the most action. Working his hardest, he made sure he got into one, the command staff at his training base fine with the action. He had heard stories about the cruelty of the Acrosians, but only stories. It wasn't until his first real campaign did he see this, which would rapidly change his perspective of the Frieza Force.
His early career was that of combat. Seeking out fights within the battles allowed him to rise in level, earning him a spot as a senior guard, the highest he could have gotten within his first tour. He would end it off, widely benefitting from the experience and becoming a much better flier.
His second campaign was not as successful. Right out of the deployment transport the unit was hit, taking casualties early in to their surprise. Ground to high atmosphere artillery made flying difficult, soldiers dug in on the ground with heavy hitting energy weapons similar to their own standard issued blasters. A quarter of his compatriots were lost in the initial shock, which their Acrosian officer, Frostbight. He witness the entire command staff of his unit get vaporized after a lengthy, scolding speed about not letting him be made a fool of. Being field promoted to veteran soldier, the only rank left under the officer class, he would remain extremely cautious, without talking any risks. On several occasions did he almost get speared by an attack from his frost demon superior, whether on accident or on purpose, resulting in him wanting to transfer out.
He would be called back in for a third campaign, regardless, and would serve timidly in the ensuing battles. The planet was not as equipped as the planet before, however a stray blast had hit and knocked out his scouter, leading to him fighting without readings or communication to others throughout the rest of the campaign. Throughout the campaign, he considered desertion. A blockade was not set up and there were ships on the planet. It wasn't until a run in with the Galactic Patrol did he realize that the Frieza Force was not just something he could leave. The Galactic Patrol caught them all off guard, Frostbight lecturing his soldiers after the battle about them and how they considered the Frieza Force as criminals. One officer was removed from existence for the surprise of the Galactic Patrol, while another later had been brutally executed for letting one escape aboard a shuttle, eventually earning him a promotion to Lieutenant to fill the vacancies, his first officer position.
After the third campaign, at this point the Frieza Force was being called to the East Quadrant. Being moved to Frieza Planet #42, a fueling station for operations in the adjacent systems, he would primarily work planetside, acting as co-commander to the Captain. While much more boring than his time assaulting planets, Frostbight was considerably less wanton, which was all he needed to feel better about himself and his position. He knew he wasn't going to get far deserting, so instead he just performed his duties and worked to maintain the Garrison.
This would change during the Battle of Acrose. Frostbight had scrambled his forces to move out, leaving the troops on the ground and moving out, including Dewberry who was in charge of a training exercise at the time. It would come out later that Frostbight had been slain, as well as those who had gone with them. Other information had been cut off, as an attack on a relay station providing long range communications to their region resulted in its destruction and the isolation of his unit. The planet, assumed to have been lost after reports stopped coming in, led to Lieutenant Dewberry waiting on the planet for relief that would never come. Even after the dissolution of the Planet Trade Organization did he maintain his post oblivious to tge rest of the Galaxy. They had the rations as well as the facilities at the time, but it soon became apparent that they were in need of supplies soon. Broken scouters, damaged rooms, overall upkeep getting worse and worse, it became apparent to the officer that he would eventually run out of food, supplies, and control. Many were starting to have doubts, so he had to think of something quick to occupy them. Sending everyone out for extensive recon, he wanted them to find anything useful for travel, the search going on for months under his overwatch.
Eventually after some digging, an old crashed ship with a communications flare was unearthed. He was informed that the comm flare was an outdated form of distress beacon, which wasn't encrypted and was easily picked up by pirates, but he had it worked on anyway, knowing his options were few. His plan to hijack anyone who showed up and get off planet.
CALL TO ACTION:
Before the fall of the Planet Trade Organization, the fleet above his stationed world was called off and his planet forgotten about over the scramble to defend Acrose. Once the battle was over, the fleet did not return. The Garrison below had lost long range communication after key worlds fell, leaving the planet in darkness as to what is going on. After uncovering parts to a communication flare, Dewberry fears for the worst as he tries to link back up with the high command, rations finally running low on the world.
