Just moments ago, the location of the Red Ribbon Rebellion's hideout had been revealed to Dain. Due to the defeat of Thast, the guys inside had no other choice but to send medical support to their now unconscious muscle. The one mistake they made was firing upon the Saiya-jin. The General was smarter than that. He just needed some kind of distraction while they tried to pull the earthling back underground. Before they medics could even begin to reach the unconscious fighter, Thast would be lifted away and taken by the Saiya-jin. Though it would not be stated, he knew what this meant, Dain had decided to train him after all. The general's voice would be shouting in his ear all the while "Kid! Wake up! He's taking you. Get it together!" This would fall on deaf ears, as Thast was still unable to perceive his surroundings. Inside his mind, moments after slipping out of conscious Thast would see himself sitting in a white room. He would hear the low, grumbling voice of Yang speaking to him "So, you lost. Figures. I will admit, you made a good call by asking him to train you though. Just hope you don't die while training hahaha..." after the voice of the dark one had subsided, another voice would be heard. This one was much lighter, and surprisingly jovial "Don't worry about it. He was far stronger than us. This training could do us some good." The earthling did not know whether to feel encouraged or discouraged by the words of the two, but he was excited to be training under someone with as much power as Dain. That kind of power was something Thast had never previously seen, but something he badly wanted to achieve. Given the situation that his organization was in, they would need the strongest fighters they could get their hands on. If he could become even stronger, it would be a win win for everybody right? Thast would the begin to come to, and shake his head slightly to see he was being carried through the sky by Dain. Though he was awake, the young man could hardly move from the strain put on his body earlier. He would softly speak "So, You've agreed then?"

Dain was actually in a bit of a pickle. He had said he would train the boy, but not only was he unsure of what to teach him or how. The real problem was the where though. He would have loved to train the boy on Earth, but he had no place he called his own there and neither did he want to train him in the city. Given the powers he had to work with, it was far too dangerous. If they got caught up in the training lives could be lost and as usual Dain would probably be blamed for it. Again. It was not like they could train with some weights and a punching bag, Thast was far beyond that. From what he gathered the boy did have quite some power already and was already a skilled martial artist. The one thing he could seem to use was a bit of practice with KI and perhaps plenty of combat experience. That was the one thing Dain could truly help him with. By simply keep fighting the boy he would certainly raise Thast power and he was sure the boy would pick up a trick or two. However that required space and a quite location to train. So in the end the Saiya-Jin did the only logical thing he could think of. “Welcome back and yes it seems so. Petey, raise gravity to twenty times Earth gravity.” Dain said, before turning his head up to talk with the AI aboard his ship the Atrioch. Technically they were still on Earth. Despite some heat from the Earth traffic controls, Dain had ordered the AI to semi land the ship. With over three kilometers in height, 1km with and almost 1 KM high, it could not land properly however. So technically it was hovering several hundred meters above some plains in the southern quadrant. Of course the traffic control had complained, but as soon as Dain pointed out the amount of raw fire power his ship packed, plus the fact that he could summon a small fleet as the leader of the Ravagers, they welcomed them with open arms. “So the first thing you will do is learn to talk, move, breath and live under this gravity. It should be quite hard on you, but until you can, we can´t start properly training.” Dain said with a grin as he turned his attention back to That, crossing his arms. He did not even seem to notice the increase in gravity. “Anyway we are on board my ship. This is my personal gravity and training room, even if it does not look like it.” He explained as he shrugged his shoulders. It might have been hard to believe, since it looked like the two of them were sitting in a nice rural mountain area, at the edge of a huge mountain lake. The holodeck he had incorporated into his training room was state of the art and capable of projecting almost anything. Even smells and feelings. “Anyway now that you are awake, don´t try to stand up. First eat this and then slowly get used to the gravity.” Dain said with a friendly smile as he tossed Thast a small bean. “Also could you tell me what you exactly want to learn? Do you simply want to become a better fighter and more powerful, or was there something else you had in mind?” Dain asked as he extended his hand and exerted a small trick he picked up from a really, really funny alien race. A moment later the air around Thast´s chest vibrated and next he knew the symbol of the Ravagers appeared as an emblem upon his clothes. “There, I officially accept you as a pupil and until your training is complete, you are not permitted to take it off.” He said with a grin. He did not know much about teaching, but he was accustomed to the teacher giving the student an emblem to identify. It was much like giving his Ravagers a unifying outfit and branding cattle… although he always thought it went to far to burn it directly into people´s skins. So he had stuck with emblems on clothing… for now. Thast Rowens | Word Count: 717 | Total Word Count: 717

After waking for a second or so, Thast would soon return to his unconscious state, as he was still greatly injured from his sparing session against Dain. His mind would be whisked away to a calm and peaceful grassland meadow. He would dream of resting in the large field, but he would suddenly open his eyes to find that he was in a field just like the one in his dream. This field seemed quite peaceful too, from where he laid on the ground, he could even smell the flowers. Perhaps Dain had taken him there to mediate for his training. Thast would suddenly feel his breathing getting heavier, and his heart beat would begin to slow. Maybe he was already meditating? No. This was the subtle change in his body as the effects of the new gravity began to come into play. The earthling would suddenly feel all his muscles tighten up within his body. He would try to get up, but would be glued to the ground by the new forces being exerted against him. A light voice would be heard in his mind, “Enhanced gravity. It reminds me of my home planet. There earth’s gravity was ten times stronger. This is about double that.” Yin’s voice would then subside as another more dark and raspy voice would whisper to him “Heh heh heh, try not to die here will ya.” Yang would mock as usual. Thast would now fully open his eyes and awake to Dain explaining exactly where the two of them were. He would then attempt to get up yet again, but lacked the stamina. Right then, Dain would toss him the bean. The earthling had never seen anything quite like the bean before, it was green and shaped like any other bean, but something was strange about it. “That bean. Eat it, it’ll restore our power” the dark voice would mumble to him. Doing as Dain has instructed, Thast would eat the bean, and then slowly begin to rise as it’s magic would heal his body. Dain would then ask Thast what he wanted to learn. “Well as you can tell I lack control. That group I was with needs my help, and I need to learn to control my powers and get stronger so I can become an asset to them. Truth be told, I had never even been in a fight 5 months ago. These powers aren’t even mine. They were given to me by some sort of mad scientist who experimented on me. The guys I’m with are actually hunting the organization who did this to me.” Thast would thoroughly explain. Looking at the surrounding area, it would appear as the two were in some sort of field rather than a spaceship. Though being inside a ship would explain the twenty times gravity which anchored his body to the ground. “well, I had better get to work.” With a slight grin Thast would begin to slowly stretch, and then slowly walk under the pressure of the new gravity. He made it about eight feet before he was out of breath, this strange pull was really something else…

Dain was first of all happy he seemed to have judged the man correctly, able to withstand the gravity that was twenty times Earth. He had been ready to reduce it at the first sign of trouble, but it seemed his judgment was still on the mark. The fact that he actually already managed to get up was encouraging as well, even if he got winded easily. It had been the same for him when he first got to a planet with a different gravity and he had been born on a planet with already ten times that of Earth. Still he was not the only one. Every single Saiya-Jin warrior seemed to have the air knocked out of them as they landed on the planet Tshcuk. With a gravity of 17x that of Earth it suddenly felt as if the air itself weighed down upon them and they had difficulty breathing. It had taken a night of hardcore drinking, cursing and brawling among themselves to get through it. Still even after two weeks Dain could still feel the gravity and they barely won the battle. “Take it easy Thast, this gravity will take a while to adjust to. Meanwhile catch this and toss it back to me.” Dain said with a grin as he materialized a small metal ball out of thin air into the palm of his hand and casually tossed it to Thast. Normally it weighed only three kilograms, but under this gravity it weighed sixty. Still not a huge amount, but he hoped it would take Thasts mind a bit of the constant gravity, forcing his mind to focus on the ball. As they continued their little game of toss, Dain would start throwing increasingly difficult balls to keep the human warrior on his toes. “H-huh… I did not know Earth advanced that far…” He said honestly a bit shocked at the man´s statement that the power was not his own. As far as he knew several races had or where experimenting with that technology, hoping to create a breed of super warriors. Aside from the Tuffles though, he knew of none that had actually succeeded. Until now it seemed… Still it probably explained why Thast was a superb warrior with according skills and willpower. If he had been a martial artist before those probably came from them. The lack of energy control was merely an effect of not being used to them. Or perhaps the man was truly just a genius, unwilling to accept it. The KI attack the man had fired at him… was truly something else. In any case it made it easy about the first steps of the training. “Thast, you have to use your energy. Even if you are strong, your body can´t withstand this gravity naturally. In fact even my body would be crushed without energy. The fact that you can stand, means you already use it subconsciously to enhance your strength.” Dain said with an encouraging nod as he watched his pupil struggle. Gravity training was used to do exactly that. Increase the base of ones power, gradually expanding the KI-reserves and it´s strength as they continued. -up to the point where they could move as easily as if they were in normal gravity of course.- If the base increased, so would the peak of their KI. So that part was all fine and well. Once Thast was used to this gravity, they could continue their training in honest on higher gravity settings. The next part would be a bit more difficult. For Dain the ability to use KI was as natural as breathing. When he was still a toddler he had accidentally sneezed and blew a roof in the wall of his parents building. Oh he still remembered their delight at his first KI-Blast. For Thast it would probably take a bit more. “Okay let´s say the instability is your real problem, what is the core? Are you having difficulty summoning it or controlling it?” He asked curiously as he caught the ball, turned sideways and tossed it back behind his back in a diagonal line, aiming a few feet besides Thast. The force of the artificial chamber was beginning to get to him. Twenty times the gravity of earth would be enough to crush the average earthling in seconds, and it sure felt like it. Thast would take a moment to catch is breath, first bending forward while grabbing onto his knees. He would then focus on breathing in the pressurized meadow. It suddenly made since to him why Dain was so strong. This gravity stuff was the real deal, and the man was hardly phased by it. Thast made the assumption that Dain had probably been training in this environment for years, it was no wonder he was so powerful. Looking over his shoulder and back to his new master, Thast would hear Dain instructing him to catch something. Seconds later he would see the heavy metal ball flying through the air. Judging by its speed, he could tell that the object must be somewhat heavy. Reaching out, he would manage to grab the ball from the air, with relative ease at that. For Thast, the real problem was on an internal level. True his body did weigh over a ton due to the massive gravitational pull, but lifting a ton would be a trivial task for someone with a power level like his. On the inside however, Thast was having trouble breathing, and his internal organs had become much slower. Raising his right hand, he would slowly pitch the ball back towards Dain as he had been instructed to do. "well, what they did to me wasn't exactly scientific. I wouldn't say earth's technology has advanced that far... What actually happened was complicated. The easiest way I can explain it is, I absorbed the remaining ki of two different ancient martial artists, now the powers they once had, I have." Thast would try his hardest to convey this, but he doubted Dain would actually believe him. If Thast had told Dain the whole story, his new master might have thought he was insane. As time slowly passed, the gravitational forces became slightly easier to move in. Thast could feel his body beginning to properly adapt as Dain would explain how he was using ki to bolster his strength and constitution. This much was true, but there was one catch. Thast was not the one subconsciously diverting power to his body, this was the doing of Yin and Yang. With the two of them inside the young man's body they were to ones who took care of these minor details such as maintaining flight, and increasing his physical power. The two of them doing this allowed Thast's mind to stay clear while fighting, and focus on the tactical aspects of combat. In other words, Thast's mind was like a general, and the two spirits were his soldiers. "I guess your right? I don't feel like I'm using any energy." he would respond. As for energy, Thast knew he had problems controlling his abilities. It seemed he could only manifest a ki attack in times of high stress, such as combat. He couldn't seem to simply bring out his power on his own accord. "Well, I can't seem to manifest ki unless I'm fighting or about to fight. Also may attacks are pretty volatile, destroying everything rather than just my opponent. Finally, I'd like to be able to tap into my own natural power rather then what I've got now, but I warn you, my power level before I was experimented on was only about 15..." Thast would explain this while tossing the metal ball back to Dain yet again. If anyone could train him to gain control over the powers he had randomly received, he hoped it would be Dain.

Dain watched Thast closely, sensing the his movements and struggles. Not so much on the eye level, but on the much closer level of his KI. He could sense the man struggling and his body coping with the strain. Perhaps it was different being on the outside, but the man´s organs slowing was something he had not noticed with himself when he trained. It was actually quite ingenious. The body slowly shutting down to preserve energy and keeping alive. As much as he was trying to teach, Dain was also trying to learn as much as he could. The fact that the man could catch the ball though and return it meant he was already learning to cope. Rather fast actually. He hid his amusement and feeling impressed behind an iron mask, as he simply kept tossing the ball back. The way he had been trained basically consisted of him dying almost all the time. It was actually a standard procedure in the Saiya-Jin army. The weak where pushed so hard they kept getting zenkai boosts until they were strong enough to get through the final challenge. Those who were unfortunate enough to die, simply discarded as waste. Of course that was over a thousand years ago and the practice had been abolished a long time ago, but that was the way Dain was trained. Now he was not going to put Thast through that. For two reasons. The first being that humans did not seem to get the same boost from nearly dying as Saiya-Jin. The second he was not that cruel. In that particular order. That did not mean he was going to treat Thast easily though. What the warrior told him next though caused him to blink for a moment. He had never heard of such a thing and probably should have been inclined not to believe the man. However he was an immortal Saiya-Jin, had seen his friend transform from human into a raccoon due to the effects of a black hole. He had seen demons, kai´s and countless other things he could barely comprehend. It was not in his nature to disbelieve the man. “Ah… that complicates things… I think?” He said slowly as he thought about the complications. He was unsure how to proceed for a moment. At least it explained his prowess. “Hmmm does that mean your prowess also comes from these two?” Dain asked as he caught the ball and then suddenly threw it towards Thast with a lot more speed then before, aiming straight at the man´s chest. The throw contained enough force to knock the man backwards even if he caught it and he wondered if that would count as an attack. There were a lot of things rushing through his mind as they kept their little game going. He even was beginning to see the problem. Possibly. “Thast, could the problem be that you have no KI of your own to summon? You have the energy reserves of those two masters, which is allowed to come out for some reason in combat, but none of your own. Perhaps that is why you can´t summon your own KI. What do you think?” Dain asked the man as he caught the ball and suddenly crushed it in his hands, tired of their little game. As the remnants fell to the ground, he watched Thast, already able to move properly in this harsh gravity. It was more then impressive and he guessed that energy reserve had something to do with it. “These… entities… they talk to you, don´t they?” Dain suddenly asked directly, hoping to confirm something he had been sensing for a while now. Or rather a sensation about the man he could not identify properly. He had experienced something similar with a Kai before, having shared his body with some natural spirits. It was not like Dain could tell they were there, it was just the feeling he had when he studied the KI of the man. The best he could describe it was as if the KI itself was alive and communicating with itself. A bad analogy, but it was the best he got. In any case he had thought of something. “Could you power up if I told you I am going to attack you now?” He continued onto a different path of thoughts as he spread his legs, took a combat position and powered up slightly. The air around Dain looked almost serene for a moment as he opened his eyes. A moment of calmness as the Saiya-Jin relaxed and exhaled briefly. All the tension vanished from his body as he witnessed his surroundings. In that brief moment he could see everything, from the biggest objects, to the small particles of dust floating around. A moment of true peace, something only the great masters of their era knew. To completely relax, be one with their own senses and body. He could feel his own heartbeat, the pulsating veins in his arms and the warm tingling in his fingers. “Okay, here I go!” He said as he inhaled and tensed his muscles. Instantly black KI began to seep from his body, like a thick black mist. A few veins popped up on his chest and his breathing turned into a soft grunt. The air around him began to vibrate, trembling as if the air itself was heating up around him. At first it seeped around him like a true black mist, before it began to form into a swirling aura around him. The black KI lit up like a thousand light bulbs on a gigantic Christmas tree and a gush of wind spread through the area. A few veins popped up on his arms and a soft growl escaped his lips as he summoned his natural power to the absolute maximum. Of course that alone was enough to make most people run screaming. His long brown hair swayed softly in the air and his brown robe fluttered around him. “Now I would suggest powering up or this is going to hurt!” Dain said with a devious grin as he extended an arm towards Thast and began to gather the energy for a KI-Blast. Thast would continue to throw the ball back and forth with Dain, the gravity pressing on his body all the while. The earthling had never truly explained his situation to anyone else before, or at least not anyone he had just met. The simple fact that Dain was so quick to believe him would deepen his trust in the man. Not that he had too many doubts before. As their discourse would continue, the dark voice of Yang would speak inside Thast’s mind “Ah, is he experienced with situations like this, or just gullible?” Dain would then ask if his combat capabilities had come from the two martial artists as well. The answer to this was yes and no. Yin and Yang worked like batteries, fueling Thast’s attacks, but never getting directly involved. The earthling had been trained by a master of crane school, so his form and style was his own in a way. Thast would rub his chin and explain “Well. I guess you could say I do all the fighting, while those two just give me the power I need to keep going.”
Following this the earthling’s personal abilities would come into question. Did the young man have any ki of his own? He did. A few weeks back Yin had begun to mentally train the earthling as he slept. During that time, Thast had unlocked a small amount of his own personal energy. Sadly, for him, his own power was dwarfed by that of Yin and Yang’s. Shaking his head a little at the question, Thast would explain “Well, I do have some power of my own. But my power is only about five percent of what the two of them can offer. I guess the problem here is my body just isn’t strong enough to contain all the power they give me, and that usually has consequences…” As he finished explaining this, he could be caught off guard by the force of the incoming ball, just barely catching it and being pushed back into the dirt about ten feet. Suddenly out of nowhere, Dain would ask Thast if the two beings talked to him. How could he have guessed something like that!? Yin would speak inside the earthlings mind “Well, he catches on quick. He was able to discern there being three different souls in one body.” Thast would appear shocked as the Saiyan would ask this. “Well, yeah. How did you know that!? Ever hear the story of Yin and Yang? Because it’s the two of them that inhabit me.”
The Earthling would swallow hard at the idea of being attacked right now, though he had gotten use to the gravity a little bit. It didn’t seem like he had much of a choice in the matter anyway, and besides he wanted to show off his personal power. Clenching his fists, a new kind of aura that Dain had yet to see would form around Thast’s body. It was a flaming blue energy that produced only a small amount of power, and it was the first time he had actually drawn on his own abilities outside his dreams. As he did this however the area would become much darker, and filled with a mist of vial power. The dark one would comment inside his head “Ah what a fantastic aroma. We have to barrow this power some time hahaha.” The earthling would then enter a defensive stance, bracing for the worst that Dain could come up with.

Dain was listening carefully as Thast explained. He was already getting several idea´s as the man was talking and got a grasp of the problem. Perhaps it was his experience, but the situation actually looked quite positive to him. Still learning more about his pupil would help him understand and provide a better plan. “Okay that is good. So they basically act as batteries.” He said with a nod, being glad that his fighting ability had not come from the two of them. It meant that the man himself was rather skilled and it was easier to train those that were skilled. He had neither the time nor patience to build the man up from the ground. And there it was. The main problem. “Yeah I know the problem actually. I have a similar technique that taxes the body.” He said as he tensed a bit, showing it rather then talking about it. For a final time he clenched his fist and focused. “KAIO-KKEEENNNN!!!” He bellowed, before his power exploded like a volcano around him. His black aura turned a deep red and veins popped up all over his forehead, arms, legs and stomach. The air around him deforming as his power reached a new height. The area around him starting to disintegrate and float into the air. Instantly he felt the power, but also the strain that came from the technique. He quickly let go of the form, yet despite not having done anything, he still felt his entire body aching. For a moment the pain was too much and he sank to his knees. “You are correct that the body has consequences. For instance my body could explode if I overuse that attack.” He said as he pointed at his forearm which seemed to swell up for no reason for a second, before returning to normal, leaving a wave of pain though. “However I do think your problem is easier to solve. As you said it is bad because your own personal power is too low. Making the increase dangerous. If that is true, you merely need to train your own stamina and power.” Dain said with a grin as he straightened himself out. A smirk appeared on his face though as Thast asked him if and how he knew. For a moment he was in dubious whether he wanted to keep it a mystery or be honest about it. In his mind a master should always appear a bit mysterious, knowing things he should not be able to. On the other hand he also loved Thasts reaction too much. “I could simply distinguish three different types of `energy´ within you.” He ended up saying, even if it was not entirely correct. What he sensed was not exactly energy, nor KI, but the word energy probably came the closest to it in the English language. “Halt!” Dain suddenly said as he powered down, a smile on his face as he achieved the reaction he wanted. What he wondered about though was the source of KI. It was different from before. Weaker, yet also far more potent. “I presume that is your own power, so you already learned something.” He said as he applauded, walking a bit closer to Thast, feeling the potent power and pressure around him. The increased darkness was certainly an nice touch. “Okay, so we have learned so far that you can be tricked. Or rather you can trick your own body. If you believe it your body will allow you to produce your own KI. Now don´t be mad, this is important.” Dain said with a disarming smile, apologizing for his deception. “This will be crucial in your training. The only way to increase your strength is to use it, over and over again. If this had not worked, I would have been forced to commission a training bot for you, to engage you into combat over and over again, until your base power was strong enough to rival that of the other two.” He said as he grew serious and rested his eyes upon Thast for a moment, thinking about how to go about this the best from now one. “Cause I will train you, but I can´t be your full time trainings partner. I will always be there to help, but you will only grow stronger if you can also learn to train by yourself. That will be the first lesson. I will teach you to harness your KI and train yourself. Then by the time I come back, I hope you have mastered this ability and we can continue in honest.” Dain said with a nod, believing it for the best. He had not heard of anyone growing if their hand was constantly being held. He would show Thast the way, but he would have to put in the work himself. “So what you are going to learn is consider training as combat. To take it absolutely serious. I am not joking. Every training should push you to your absolute limits, break you if you make a mistake. Training is a fight with your own body. To push it to it´s absolutely breaking point and then beyond. I believe if you see it like that, you can summon your power at will eventually.” He said serious, before a grin appeared on his face. “Until then, you will keep fighting me in this gravity. Grow used to this feeling and don´t let up until I say so, or you pass out.” He said as he snapped his finger and his golden aura exploded around him, a crater forming underneath his feet. “Come at me and try to hit me. Throw everything you got at me!” He said as he took a neutral, casual stance, winking Thast to come at him. For now the fighting would help Thast to get further used to the gravity and stabilize his KI. Thast Rowens | Word Count: 1,005 | Total Word Count: 2,394 + 1,005 = 3,399

Thast would watch in awe as Dain displayed his technique. His body surrounded by a strange, yet powerful red aura. It seems whatever he did caused his power level to sky rocket. Even though his master mentioned it caused strain on his body, the earthling was still enticed by the technique’s power. Something that could raise ones strength so much in such a short amount of time was something he needed “Dain, you have to teach me that. At some point at least.”
The longer the two of them lingered and spoke, the more Dain seemed to understand the situation. Up until this point, most of the “training” he had done was simply him fighting other individuals. Thast had gone through a bit of basic back in his military days, and Tybon had taught him proper form, but he never had a set regime. The suggestion that he should learn to train himself made sense. If he could train himself perhaps he would draw out more of his own power, for now however his personal power level was about one thousand. To the Saiyan before him he was but an ant. "Alright, harness my Ki and train myself... I can summon this much, but how exactly do you propose I train?"
The next thing Dain said to him would be quite serious. Fighting wasn't just a game, and he wanted Thast to understand that. Of all the things said so far, this resonated with the earthling the most. Thast was part of a paramilitary organization that was trying to defend the earth, one wrong move could end in himself and all those he fought for dying. That was the simple truth. He would indeed have to push himself beyond the limits of any human, or earthling period for that matter. This was the moment that Thast decided he wished to become the strongest fighter on the planet. He would take the advice whole heartedly, and begin to focus. His blue aura would swell upwards exploding in all directions, it seemed his power was already slightly rising at the thought of becoming stronger to defend the earth. "HAAAAAAAAA!" "Dain, I swear someday I'll become the strongest man on this planet, and then I'll be able to give you a real fight. But for now, I'll show you what I'm capable of."The earthling would rush forward destroying the ground below him as he flew, as he reached Dain he would rear back his left arm. This time something would be different, the gravity of the room would slow him a little, but still his hand would be surrounded with a blue aura of his own ki instead of Yin or Yang's. He would then swing strait for the Saiyan's chest hoping to land a blow, or at least surprise him a bit.

As he had spoken, Dain had already started thinking about how he could help Thast with his training. The Saiya-Jin had never been one for empty words and he wanted to do the best he could do for his pupil. Of course without sounding overly soft. As the man asked the question, he had already come up with a solution. “Well that is easy. I will make your training Regime so hard you can barely stand it. Every hour of training will become a struggle to survive.” He said with a devious grin as he began blocking Thasts attacks with one hand, simply catching, blocking or deflecting the blows as he moved slightly backwards. Of course he could take this a bit more aggressive, but for now he just wanted Thast to throw everything he had at him. It would help his stamina and he could give him a few tips. “You should shift your weight back a bit when throwing a punch.” He said carelessly as he grabbed the incoming fist, his own wrapping around it and he pushed back slightly, causing Thast to stumble back a few feet. “If you throw your weight forward to much, you will lose your footing too easily.” He said with a grin, as he took a few steps back. “Petey, I want you to create a few items.” Dain said with a grin as he lifted his voice up to look into the sky. He knew it was silly, as he knew the AI could hear him anyway, no matter where he was on his ship or in which direction he was talking. Still it felt more natural to have decided she was up there, like a goddess, when he addressed her. Which made sense, as on board this ship, she was the closest thing to one you could find. “I want you to create a gravity machine for Thast, lowest setting 30x Earth Gravity.” He said with a grin, as he looked at his pupil for a moment, a grin resting upon his face telling the man he was not joking when he said he would make his training a struggle. “Make it so the AI automatically adepts itself to the man´s strength, increasing the gravity automatically when he becomes too comfortable.” He added, just as the man was coming at him again. Was Dain disappointed as he dodged the man´s attacks with ease? In fact he was not. He had not expected the man to come too close, the difference in raw power was far too big. As a matter of fact, despite his banter, he was really impressed by the human. His technique was good and his power was already stabilizing itself it seemed. If he had not known any better, the man was a prodigy and the melting of KI was not an `accident´, rather fate. Still the human was attacking far to frontal. Which was normal as his previous training probably did not include too much KI, considering he could barely control his own. That was a second weakness though, one he could improve. “Thast I want you to sense the KI around you. Your attacks are too frontal… you have to learn to feel them.” Dain said, suddenly stumbling over his own words as he did not know how to express himself in English. “You fight rather well and your strength is already far above human levels, but if you want to make it on the big stage, you will have to use more then your eyes to throw a punch. I will explain this as we go, just accept for now that it takes more to be a warrior then a good eye sight and a strong fist. I guess the difference between a fighter and a warrior. Once you learn to `sense´ you will have taken your first steps towards becoming a warrior.” He rambled on as he kept dodging Thast. In any case he was not done just yet. “In addition, Petey I want you to create a set of heavy weight training clothing and a set of ankle and wrist weights. Calculate his strength from this fight and maximize the weight for the first set to what he could handle.” Dain said with a grin as he vanished from Thasts next attack, only to appear in the sky above them, looking down upon him. “That will be your training regime. You will wear heavy weighted clothing, plus wrist and ankle weights, in a heavy gravity chamber. That way you can make each personal training your own struggle.” Dain said with a grin. It would be quite taxing for the ship to make those, especially the gravity chamber contained some extremely expensive materials, but it was worth it if Thast would ever manage to crack the universal barrier and become a fighter of renown. If possible Dain hoped the human would one day be strong enough to give him a proper challenge and he could meet him as his equal. “Before you wonder, that is exactly the same basic training I do. Albeit my gravity setting is probably a bit higher then yours.” He said with a grin, despite not saying the actual number. The last thing he needed was for his pupil to try 726x himself and be squashed. Now there was only one thing left to do. -Besides grabbing a snack and a drink- To hold out the carrot. “Hmmm it is a very dangerous technique, perhaps you did not hear me when I said it could destroy my body…” Dain said, as he raised his eyebrow, feigning for a moment to be upset with his pupil and thinking about what to do. “… but I will teach you that technique.” He said as his face shifted and a grin was placated upon it. “Only once you have managed to learn to control your KI though. I am not joking. Without having completely mastered KI, this technique will kill you. However once you do and you have learned this… you will be a force to be reckoned with.” He said with a grin, before landing and signaling his pupil to come again. Thast would listen carefully to Dains instructions, shifting his weight back would increase the power of his blows. This made sense, how could he had over looked it all this time? That did not matter now though. He would alter his stance slightly, and bring back his right arm while guarding the side of his head with his left arm. Following this would be a slight burst of speed as he swung toward Dain with a more proper punch. "Do you mean like this?"Thast was excited that his master had already had a training regimen in mind, anything he could come up with would be sure to push the earthling to his limits. This is exactly what he needed too, proper harsh training that could increase his power. One thing did shock him however, the Saiya-jin had instructed his AI to create a gravity chamber for him. That would be perfect! If he could train himself in a similar manner to how Dain trained, he would be bond to catch up with his master eventually. Though thirty times gravity did cause him to sweat a little at the thought, he knew he had to do whatever it took. "Dain, really? My own gravity chamber? I promise you won't regret this. When I've become strong enough we'll have a fight you'll never forget."His mentor would then explain that he had to be able to 'sense' rather then simply see or hit hard. This was also true, as Thast often fought without first feeling out his opponent, that had made him underestimate that majin kid after all. Perhaps if Dain had trained him earlier he could have won that fight, but then again the pink kid was holding back. Either way, Thast had a few ideas of how to 'sense' his surroundings. If he could get Yin and Yang to cooperate inside his head for a while, he could virtually gain omnidirectional vision. As for sensing power levels, Thast was slowly beginning to get batter at it, especially since he had met his Kai friend Hyperion. As Thast continued to try to land a hit, he would hear Dain expand further on his training plans. Wearing weighted clothing and braces would increase the effectiveness of the gravity training. The earthling could only move so fast in twenty times gravity, so thirty times gravity in weighted training clothes would be grueling. Dain really wasn't kidding about the training being serious. Not to say Thast did not think he was in the first place. He would then hear his master say that this was the training he did as well, but at a higher gravity setting. It made sense due to the power gap between them. Finally, Thast would hear his new master explain yet again the dangers of the technique, and how it could kill him if he used it without proper training. Mastering his Ki had to become his priority, and he would be determined to see this through. As Dain signaled at Thast to unleash another attack, he decided to put his new full power to the test. "Master, allow me to show you my strongest technique. With my power added, you might finally have to put some effort into this, hahaha..." Stretching out both his arms toward Dain, he would begin to channel his energy. A ball of white and pure ki would form in front of his left hand, and another orb of black, dreadful energy would be created in front of his right. This was the combined power of Yin, Yang, and now Thast himself. Thast would speak as if the three voices were speaking at once "Yin Yang Attack!" From each orb, a beam of energy would fire towards Dain, but the two beams would suddenly begin to spiral around each other creating a massive bolt of black and white energy. If this attack happened to impact his master he may be able to stand up to the attack's force, but the surrounding area might be damaged.

Dain observed carefully as Thast seemed to adjust his technique a little bit. It was not that much and in all fairness depending on the situation it might actually be handy to go completely offensive. During the first stages of a fight though it was a bit habbit. Dain himself always tended to fight in three stages. The first he tended to play defensive, leaning back more, allowing himself to dodge or block incoming attacks easier. It was good to allow him to observe the enemies abilities. Once he was `familiar´ with them, he would switch to a more balanced stance. Just duking it out in a balanced stance. Of course as the fight drew near it´s end a more offensive posture could be useful. Either to end the fight quickly or hoping to overwhelm an equal opponent. However he firmly believed that the balanced stance should be the standard when fighting. It was flexible and versatile. “Much better.” Dain grinned as he took a step back and watched the punch soar past him, watching Thast footing and angle of attack. The Saiya-Jin simply nodded to Thast question. He was deadly serious about the gravity machine and the training regime. He believed it was the least he could and should do as a master. For some reason Dain was drawing idea´s and feelings far too quickly. As far as he could remember Thast was the first student he ever trained, but either he had done this before and hard forgotten, or he was actually enjoying this. Well scratch the or… regardless he was enjoying this. Sharing his knowledge and trying to help the young man… it just felt right. That was about all he wanted to do for now. They had been going at it for a while and he was not the type to just preach. “I will be looking forward to that.” He said with a grin as he shifted his stance a bit and began blocking the blows, rather then just dodging them. “Of course you will have to fill in the rest of your training. For example I tend to create a sparring partner. Like my clone, an android or even just a few orbs that fire at me. You can only become a warrior by training. Push-Ups and weights will only grant you strength. Training a kick a thousand times will make it strong, but will not make you a warrior.” He said as he dug his feet into the ground and continued to block, not moving an inch back from his spot. “You already are a fighter, I will help you become a warrior.” He said as he blocked another punch with his arm, not even flinching from the impact. Of course he was having a bit of an advantage in his super state. “So we covered KI control, sensing and then there is the last part. Speed.” He said as he watched Thast prepare his attack. He could feel the familiar attack forming. Dain had only seen it once, but the KI signature had been so unique he would probably not ever forget it. That will become his trump card… He suddenly realized as he felt it´s power grow now Thast poured in it´s own power. “Most people tend to forget this. They focus on raw power. What good will it do if you can´t catch your opponent though?” He said with a grin as he watched the ball being fired towards him and as if in slow motion simply took a step to the side so the ball would miss him. Hoping to have made his point he stepped back in front of the attack, stretched out his attack and caught the attack with his bare hand. For a moment it spun violently in the palm of his hand as he let out a small grumble, summoning his power as his fingers closed around the orb. A small explosion followed as Dain crushed the ball and when he emerged from the smoke his grin was even bigger. “Of course having overwhelming power is nice as well.” Dain said with a grin, ignoring the few droplets of blood falling from the tips of his fingers. “So that is the basic of what I will teach you for now. KI control, which you seem to be grasping, sensing and speed.” He said as he closed the distance to Thast and as he walked his golden aura fell away from him, his hair turning black and his eyes returning to their natural color. “Now how about that little spar I promised, before we have a bite to eat.” He asked as his black aura returned, only this time as close as he could get it to his pupil. Seeing the man train and fight had stirred something in him and now he wanted to get some action as well. A few meters in front of Thast he bowed, adhering to the proper form of martial arts on Earth. “Petey, reduce gravity for the duration to 10x gravity.” Dain said a moment later as he watched Thast. The young man had adapted incredibly well to the gravity, but no doubt it was still hindering his movements. Reducing the gravity should even the odds a bit more and give Thast the feeling he was light. As for Dain? He barely felt the gravity in the first place. What he did do though was remove his heavy weighted cloak, throwing the brown cloak effortlessly away. The ground cracked where it hit and shuddered for a moment as the Katchin reinforced cloak hit and formed a small crater. The Saiya-Jin breathed in relieve as he could finally move normally. He could feel the fresh wind on his body. The many scars and old battle wounds, clearly visible on his body. “Lesson four… never get too arrogant or you will end up with a body like mine.” He said with a grin, just before dashing towards Thast, closing the distance in a moment, starting the spar. The earthling would watch as his master stepped away from his attack, he was even quicker than Thast had imagined. At the same time, this was why he asked the Saiyan to train him, so this kind of power should have been expected. After that however, his master would step back in front of the attack to block it with his bare hand! Either Dain was crazy, or simply wanting to prove a point. And Thast already knew the answer to that. Speed was also something very important, if a warrior could simply dodge his attacks then why attack in the first place? No, there needed to be a time, and place to strike. The earthling would have to discover these tides of battle for himself, but for now he would intently listen to his master. "Wow. I guess I should have expected that...""Sparing, yeah. Okay, I've gotten a bit stronger, but this gravity is gonna kill my mobility." His master would then lower the gravity settings, lifting a massive burden off of Thast's body. His energy seemed to return to it's normal state, and he felt much lighter even though it was still ten times earth's normal gravity. Perhaps he was simply accustomed to the new feeling of extra weight. He would then watch as his master removed his shirt, showing off all the various battle scars he had. "Arrogance. No, I don't plan on being arrogant." Just as Thast had said that, his master would have already entered into a combat stance and rushed his position. Truth be told, the earthling had not expected that, but the enhanced gravity did put him on edge slightly. He would attempt to block the first of the Saiyan's attacks, and would then retreat flying backwards shooting Ki blasts to cover his escape. Thast knew he stood no chance against his master, but he still wanted to prove himself none the less. If he did not fight with all he had, then he wouldn't be following his master's philosophy after all. Perhaps by simply fighting back, he could prove himself in a way. "I won't fall for the same trick twice master!"

As they were sparring the battle flowed up and down a bit. Even from their last duel the man had already improved quite a bit it seemed and all in all Dain was quite satisfied. Not with his own teachings, it was too early to see that pan out, but with the man´s talent and quick up taking. In fact if things continued to go like this he would soon have to start being careful. In any case it was something that please him greatly. As they fought though another thought entered is mind. “Okay that is enough!” He said with a grin as he jumped back upon his feet after having been send flying by a kick. “Let´s have dinner, I am starving. Petey shut down the gravity and the holo display.” He said as he dug inside his pocket and threw Thast a small vial, before taking one himself. While not quite as potent as a bean, it would help recover stamina and close some of the minor wounds they had received during their scafluffle. As the gravity vanished and the display disappeared, the massive size of the room became apparent. Being almost two kilometers long, six hundred meters wide and seventy meters high, it was one of the biggest and most important rooms on the Atrioch after all. “You fight well and earned the rest.” He simply said as he nodded towards Thast, not willing to be abundant with praise just yet. Furthermore he had actually noticed something was missing from the man. Or at least in his eyes. To him it felt like the man was fighting with a mission. Back in the mountains to defend something it seemed and now to please him. Having a purpose was good, but in Dain´s eyes the man was lacking something. Although admittedly it was a Saiya-Jin trait. He had missed the fun in the man´s eyes. To be able to fight against a superior opponent… Dain longer for such a moment. He always enjoyed himself in battle. It was the only reason he still fought, simply for the excitement and to better himself. He had long missed the edge of fighting a stronger opponent. Knowing he was at the max of his power and still being pushed back, that feeling is indescribable. Fun was not something he could teach though and he was sure fighting was not something Thast hated. In a way simply fighting for a purpose was just as good. He just wondered how long that would keep the man satisfied. He was already strong and if things continued to keep at it as they were, he would soon start outgrowing Earth. Perhaps that was why he reached the conclusion he should perhaps raise the man´s bars a bit. Although he would not deny it would also be a big help to him as well. There was a bit of irony in it. As the leader of the Ravagers he had been trying to recruit suitable candidates to bolster their ranks. He had set up offices on almost all planets and even got himself involved in searching out the most potent warriors to lead their ships. Yet despite all his efforts, he always seemed to end up with either talentless warriors ending up as grunts or old veterans who would become captain, but never improve again. This time though… this time fate might have thrown a true warrior in his path. He waited with asking the question though until after they had showered, refreshed themselves and sat down at Dain´s main dining table. It was dead center in the heart of the Atrioch, were also his captains chair was. Perhaps one day he would tell Thast about the secrets his ship held. The custom chair to siphon his energy directly to replace vast engines and batteries, to make room for other room was one of them. It was one of those things he had encountered in space and simply adapted to his own needs. As soon as the food started pouring from the kitchen though and two fine bottles of wine where placed on the table, Dain went for it. “Thast I have been thinking about this and maybe you should consider leaving Earth. Earth is too small for a fighter of your caliber. There are many things to see, do and learn.” He said casually as he dug into half a ham, though he watched carefully for the man´s response. Thast would battle on as long as his mortal body could hold up, but the combined powers of Dain and the gravity chamber would draw the fight to it's conclusion. The earthling simply couldn't fight as long as a Saiyan, even with the power he was barrowing for Yin and Yang. If the situation had been without the gravity, he may have lasted a few minutes extra, but he doubted that would have mattered too much. Thast would fall to the ground coughing after his master had landed a good punch. Then he would mention dinner, Thast was hungry, perhaps a decent rest wouldn't hurt anyone. Standing up to stretch and crack his knuckles, the earthling would reply with a "I don't see why not. I could use the rest." Thast would then follow Dain through what now revealed itself to be a massive complex. It appeared that the training room was much larger than he had anticipated. Thast would grin as Dain had said he earned it, "we'll I couldn't have done it without you master." The earthling could tell that his master did not give compliments often. If he wanted a reaction out of him, he would have to earn it. While Thast did not love fighting in the way Saiyans did, he still loved it in his own way. Though he needed to fight to defend his people, and the planet earth, the technical aspects of the fight interested him. Throwing the right punch at just the right time, managing to out think his opponent, these were the things he loved in the midst of battle. "Master, you said I was a fighter, but not quite a warrior yet. You mentioned I needed to refine myself before I became one. So my question is, how will I know when I've become a warrior?"As the earthling walked into the fancy dinning area he would be kind of shocked. Dain did not seem like the type of person to have such a well organized and clean kitchen, then again he was a warrior. If one is to constantly use ki, they do need to constantly eat in a way. In this case it made sense. Thast would sit at the end of the grand table as he was served by the ship. Then the Saiya-jin would make a heavy suggestion. He would tell Thast he could become stronger if he left earth. Usually, he would never even consider the thought, but this wasn't usually. If the operation against the Red Ribbon Army panned out okay, then he would due for some leave. He couldn't go immediately, but perhaps in a week. "Hmmm. You make a good point. I hear there are loads of strong fighters in space, plenty of opportunities to train. I guess I could leave, in a week or two maybe. If my organization manages to defeat the Red Ribbon Army in an upcoming battle, then I'll probably be able to leave for some time. I don't think the general would mind..."

Dain ignored the compliment or praise. He was not one to praise directly or get praised directly. In his own way he had already complimented the man, by starting the training at 20x gravity and not giving him a break. It meant Dain recognized him as strong and worthy. Not only had he seen the man´s prowess, he also recognized him as a fighter. Both things were not easy to come by. Yet it was not like him to start explaining himself, so he kept quite as they walked through the corridors. Dain was mostly silent as he led his `star´ pupil through the ship. He was caught a bit off guard by the question what a warrior exactly was. The Saiya-Jin seemed to have used the word carelessly. It was not that he believed to be wrong, it was simply that he never gave it a good thought. He could always simply tell what he was fighting. Whether it was a mercenary, soldier, fighter or warrior, he could usually tell. It was not a definition about raw power, superior technique or motive. It was simply a word he used to classify his opponents. The toughest opponent he had ever faced was the mercenary/bounty hunter called Sly. He would never call the man a warrior though. So what was it what made a warrior? “Hmmm that is actually an interesting question…” He said as he scratched his chin, pondering the question. In the end he decided to go with his gut and gave him the most instinctive answer. “When you will no longer need to call me master.” He said with a mysterious grin, before diving into the food. Surprisingly he had not actually been deflecting the question. Ironically Thast had just taught him something. However he was not about to enlighten Thast, as he just realized it was not something that could be taught. However he was sure that Thast would figure it out by himself. As they were eating though, he listened to Thast comment on his proposal. He had not expected the man to be so forthcoming. He had hoped, but not expected. Especially since he had basically just abducted him. However it seemed Thast was forthcoming and it made Dain grin. “Well that sounds lovely. By the way if you want, perhaps I can help out there. I have a bit of free time coming up it seems. Though I would recommend you solving the problem yourself.” He said, the offer being generous, before turning to his real goal. “Then I would like to extend the offer for you to join the Ravagers. It is an organization of free men and woman in space. We are bounty hunters, mercenaries, soldiers, pirates, anything you can imagine. We share a common name and support each other. If you want I can offer you a place among my ship or you can become your own captain.” He said making the offering he had been wanting too. Strangely enough for once he did not do it for the Ravagers. Sure they would benefit from a warrior of his caliber. Also he had the strange gut feeling that this man would be rather successful. Not merely as a Ravager captain, but beyond that. He had a feeling that this warrior could become a legend. That was not why he had made the offer though. No he honestly felt it would be best for Thast if he left the human home world and venture into space. Have a few adventures, meet different races and learn more about himself in the process. Had he not believed that to be the case he actually would not have made the offer. It was a strange thought process. He actually cared about the man, rather then his own desires. “Of course if you accept, you will be granted a place among the Ravagers as well as a ship.” He said after finishing the last plate and reaching inside his pocket for a cigarette. Now that he was thinking about it, he actually had a nice mission for him to start with. It was something he had been holding of on, because it was too much for most of his captains, yet he did not have the time yet. “So what do you say? Do you want to become a Ravager?” He asked casually as he placed the cigarette in his mouth and lit it by pressing the tip of his finger against the stub. “By the way, this answer has nothing to do with you being my pupil. I agreed to train you, regardless of who you are and who you side with and I will do so until you say you are ready.”Thast Rowens | Word Count: 802| Total Word Count: 4,445 + 802 = 5,247

Thast would intently listen to his new master explain what it meant to be a warrior, rather than a fighter. The earthling could tell by the long pause that his master himself did not exactly have an answer. What Dain did say was a tad generic, he would become a warrior when Dain was no longer his master. This was still an answer however, and it did make sense that he would need to someday out-fight his master. For now, he was just a fighter, though he did have a strong desire to someday fight Dain again. Perhaps after he underwent further training he would put up a decent fight, he wouldn't know the answer to this question for some time however. As the two of them got settled in, and Thast had explained his situation on earth regarding the organization he worked for Dain would offer his assistance. Having someone as strong as the Saiya-jin around who could demolish nearly any opponent he had to face would be beneficial for the sake of the mission, but would it be beneficial for Thast? Truth be told, this was a battle Thast needed to fight along side his men, he needed to be challenged so he could grow. His master never flourished off of borrowed power after all, so why should he? "That's alright master. I'm sure you would be able to defeat my enemies within the blink of an eye, but I need to push myself as you said. That means I must occasionally fight my own battles."After he said he did not need help, he may have regretted it a bit, but he again needed to prove his own might. After all, he was stronger than ever after one day of training. His master would then explain what that strange symbol on his uniform meant, it was the emblem of some sort of organization called the Ravagers. Dain described the people in the base way he could, to Thast they sounded as if they were a mercenary company. It just so happened that he had a good bit of military experience from being with the Red Band for so long. Perhaps working with Dain's men wouldn't be much different than working with his own back at the base. Aside from that, there was also an offer to becoming a captain of his own vessel. This interested Thast greatly, a ship could really help him get around, also I could give him some more pull within the organization he worked for. He could also choose to live with Dain, but his master had said he needed to learn to train himself. The earthling would scratch his chin for a moment, and respond "Join the Ravagers huh? Alright, that sounds like a good deal. A great deal, if you could make me a captain. I would choose to reside with you, but I fear I would only slow you down, I need to become my own man I guess you could say." The Ravagers would be a new chance of Thast, something he would be looking forward to. Though he did not know his exact duties, what the Ravagers stood for, or what the universe looked like outside of earth, he was still eager. There may be warriors out there that are even stronger than Dain, and this thought would only increase The earthling's interest level. Perhaps he could receive further training from these alien entities. This would lead him into one last question "So, I already gain a significant rank among the Ravagers. Tell me then, what's my job as a Ravager?"

Dain was still pondering about the whole warrior ordeal. The most simple truth was that he could not tell Thast, because it was something he had to figure out himself. The difference between being a warrior and a fighter was not skill or power, rather a way of life. He could explain all the words in the dictionary to Thast, heck he could even have Petey give him a summarization. That would defeat the point though and become confusing as he knew the term warrior meant something different on each planet. On Earth it meant to fight and live with a simple purpose in mind. On Vegeta it simply meant living to fight. And so on and so on. He did not know the conclusion Thast reached from his words. In the end it meant little. From Dain´s point of view the man would become a warrior when he himself saw himself as one. To see himself no longer as a student or a fighter, but a full fledged warrior, confident in his own abilities and willing to stand by his own believes. Which was why Dain did not consider himself a true warrior at this moment. He sold his believes to the highest bidder. However he was confident that one day a thread would rise to this universe again that would allow him to rise from his own ashes and become one again. Like his own idols, Goku and Vegeta. The Saiya-Jin was unaware he did it, but as he pondered it, he had actually clenched his fist so tightly his fingernails dug deep into his flesh and several drops of blood were falling to the ground. Luckily he was plunged from his own thoughts by Thast declining his offer to help. While Dain showed no reaction and simply nodded, inside he was greatly pleased by the resolve. That was indeed the right attitude towards a problem. Now of course there were always times were teaming up was the best. Dain and Sly often worked together to solve problems. -Albeit that usually tended to backfire upon them. Just most recently they had managed to find themselves stranded on a planet were KI was not available and they ended up fighting stone golems with nothing more then a metal sword. From there on things had rapidly gotten worse, up to the point where they were forced to help a guardian statue that could see into nine of the thirteen and a half dimensions that compromised their universe. Inside a gigantic building they had been chased through endless corridors and encountered so many traps, Indiana Jones got jealous in his grave. And that had been one of their easier adventures. The first time they met, they had been plunged into a wormhole, Sly turned from a human into a raccoon and Dain was granted his tail…- “Actually I think that is a great idea. We all have our trials to overcome and seeing that as a Ravager you will work mostly alone, it is probably a good idea to get used to it.” He said in all honesty as he exhaled a cloud of black smoke into the air, twiggling his fingers slightly to manipulate the air. From the cloud several rings and animals were formed, which then started to move through each other like a circus act, before the cloud vanished. “As for you living with me, don´t worry. If you think the training area I have here is impressive, wait till you see the one on our main base. Ever heard of the Big Gete star? We can train there any time you want, when we meet there.” He said with a grin, wondering if the legend of the star had made it´s way to Earth. If not, he could always simply show it to Thast when they would pick up his ship. He then straightened himself out, cleared his throat with a few hums and began with the official inauguration. It was something he did not like doing, normally he had his subordinates do this kind of crap for him, but in this case it seemed fitting, so he bit through the sour apple for once. “You pass the test! I will allow you to become a Ravager, though you will not be a grunt. No fighter of your skill should be a servant. We are warriors, conquerors, victors. That or we are dead. Don´t forget that lesson. It is the first lesson in space.” He spoke in a formal tone, instilling the first of two lessons onto Thast. It was common for everyone he granted a higher rank in the Ravagers. Not because of kindness mind you. It simply looked bad if their new captains kept dying and the Ravagers lived by their reputation. Suddenly a bored, slightly tedious look appeared on his face, just before he began talking. “I will grant you a ship, a brand new war cruiser, produced by the Gete Star and give you the title of captain. As a Ravager captain you are free to do anything you want, except from using our name in political matters. Whether you be a hero, a villain, a mercenary or a bountyhunter… the choice is yours and yours alone. The ship can be designed to your specs and will be completed in two weeks. You can bring your own crew or ask for a random crew of grunts to fill the most needed positions. Again the choice is yours. Lastly you are granted the right to use any and all use of the Ravagers facilities, resources and Intel. We will never interfere in your actions, unless you break the rule or betray us. The only penalty is death… that is all.” Dain said, speaking quickly and ignoring anything Thast could possibly bring up, as he raffled through the standard speech. There were a few other things he wanted to say, but they could wait until later. It did not even matter whether the man accepted the job or not. Once the decision was made, they were deemed a Ravager. Regardless if they claimed their ship or started working for them, the records of the Ravagers would show that they were one of them. It was the harsh truth. Yet somehow he just knew that Thast would prosper. “As for your official job… you have none.” Dain said with a grin as he tapped his cigarette with his index finger, causing some ash to fall to the floor. “Just uphold our name and if you do things in our name, just make sure you don´t screw up. You can be a hero and save planet, or become a pirate and pilfer said planets. Heck if you want you could even make a name as the best freighter pilot in the universe. You are literally free to do as you want. We have an internal system were we post jobs or missions to undertake. It really is just a ton of jobs people are willing to hire us for… oh right… you must be wondering what you can do in return for us…” He said with a grin as he believed to finally understand the question. “That is simple, you hand over 5% of your profits to us. In return we fix your ship, grant you intel, etc. Etc. Anyway I am bored now. Once you go to the Gete Star to pick up your ship, I will make sure you will get an assistant to help you along.” He said with a grin as he inhaled a final time, before dropping the cigarette and squashing it under his boot. “However that said… I think it would be fun to do some missions together. How about we do one when you are done on Earth and we meet on the Gete Star?” He asked sincerely, already having a perfect job in mind. “Just tell me Thast, what kind of man do you aspire to do be?”Thast Rowens | Word Count: 1,348| Total Word Count: 5,247 + 1,348 = 6,595

Thast was pleased that his master agreed with his decision regarding the Red Ribbon army. He figured his master would have approved, Dain seemed like the type of man who believed in a strong sense of independence, and by going in alone Thast would exude this quality. Hopefully by defeating the RR army he would not only bring peace to earth, but help speared the word of the Ravager's services across earth. Dain would then mention something about the Ravager's home base. It seemed strange that an organization like theirs's would even have a base, rather than just a fleet of ships. Still the prospect of such a base would interest him. What was this big Gete Star, it sounded strangly familiar, but he couldn't put his finger on it. The ability to train in an even larger environment did seem enticing, and would likely draw him in. "Training in an even better facility some time, I'm in."After this, it seemed Dain had made his final decision on the matter. Thast was to not only become a member of the Ravagers, but a captain at that. He was to carry the ravager name, and live out a life of freedom and adventure. These ideas would cause Thast to wonder, how strong could he become in the right environment? Hopefully strong enough to give Dain a decent fight at least... "Alright. live, breathe, and fight freely like a true Ravager. I can do that. I'll help make the Ravagers known across the galaxy. Keep in mind though, I am a man of goodness and neutrality. Some times I'll make the morally right choice, other times I'll make a neutral choice. I'll just about never make an evil choice though..."Dain would then explain that Thast would need a crew. Truth be told, he couldn't think of anyone who would be willing to come with him back on earth. At the same time he would prefer to have crewmen he trusted though. This would be something he would put thought into later. "Umm, for now I'll take any men you can spare. I'll likely form my own crew later..."Finally, he's master would explain that he had no official job as a Ravager, but to send five percent back to the top. It sounded a little like a pyramid scheme, but ship repairs would be well worth the five percent. "So no official job, but to spread our name and return five percent? That's more than a fair deal."Then one last question would be asked, what kind of man did Thast desire to be. In truth, he just wanted to defend his home world from intergalactic threats. there was only one word for what he wanted to be. "In short. I want to be seen as a hero. Some day, I hope people will know me as the strongest man in the universe." With that, Thast would shake his master's hand as thanks for making the deal with him. The earthling would soon leave his master's war crusher to return to his military base home. This would be the start of something very interesting... (END)

OOC: Next thread, feel free to show the cruiser you picked it you want to :3 In all honesty the Gete Star would probably be a better training place for Thast. It had a lot more options, was even bigger and had the big advantage of having training partners of roughly his strength. Plus there were instructors there that could help him out. Plus the equipment was truly top notch. They had the best KI weapons, shields, devices and could even offer courses for Thast to learn how to pilot his ship or become a proper captain. All in all Dain felt it would be best if Thast at least spend some time there. Though he decided not to put such feelings into words unless he had to. If the man was as sensible as he thought, he would figure this out himself. As for the actual training… the training room aboard the Atrioch was actually more advanced. It was after all his pride and could be pushed up all the way to 1100x gravity and Petey could control six androids at the same time to train. Plus the wall were made of several layers of reinforced Katchin, complimented with over lapsing shielding and several other techniques that actually allowed Dain to train at full power. Perhaps it was the one place he knew of where he could truly go all out, without destroying everything around him. “I am glad to hear that and I was hoping you would see it that way. It will be nice to have someone like you aboard our ranks.” He said with a smile, knowing all to well the reputation the Ravagers had for always being in the thick of things when bad things were happening. Now of course much of it was earned, they did have their fair share of rogues, so having someone like Thast would help them. “Just remember, never take up arms against another Ravager. Regardless of what he or she is doing, they are your `brothers´ now.” He said seriously, just before he got up and started walking to a closet near them. Something had just occurred to him and he had decided it would be best to quickly fix that. “Also this might be the one rule we have. If another Ravager is ever in need of assistance -only if they are being attacked though- we help them no questions asked.” He said, his back turned to Thast, as he opened the closet and began to rummage through it. Several leaflets and phamflets where flying wildly through the air as he kept digging. Organization and cleaning had never been his strong suit after all. `I really need a maid or something… perhaps a goddamn assistant bot… where the hell…´ He mutter softly to himself as the explosion of papers above and around him grew to quite an amazing size. “In any case that should be natural. We protect our own and don´t fight each other, regardless of different methods and feelings. Now you would be surprised to hear how often we had to expl-OH DAMNIT!” He suddenly said as he realized where he had put it and quickly lifted up the closet with one hand to retrieve a thick pamphlet from underneath one of the feet. He had completely forgotten he had used it to stabilize it. “Okay this is a list of battle cruisers the Gete Star can create within 2 weeks time.” Dain said with a grin as he tossed the 2 inch thick booklet to Thast. It was a bit of showing of, but in reality it was not all that difficult. The Gete Star used a highly advanced fabber -think a futuristic 3D printer- and all the ships mostly used the same components. The biggest differences were mostly cosmetically and the layout of the weaponry. Still it was no lie to say that Thast had at least three thousand ships designs to pick from. All were described properly in the book, complete with specs and photo´s. “You should take your time and pick one. Not now off course, I need to get going in a bit. I have a board meeting in three hours. Just pick the ship you want and send that choice to the Gete Star. The contact info is on the back of the booklet. Feel free to throw in a few extra customization options. An extra gun battery or more engine power, such things, are no problem. Just do me a favor and don´t over do it.” He said with a grin as he remembered one captain who customized a ship so much it looked more like a borg cube then an actual space vessel. Or the one that contained more fire power then the death star and was literally capable of blowing up planets. Sadly the energy requirements to power all those weapon would require an engine the size of a small moon. For some reason most new captains got too enthusiastic. Now of course there were exceptions. Recently they had a cyborg join them, who not only made an entire custom design, but even introduced a few upgrades or innovations they had quickly started using for all their ships. “Don´t worry. The Gete Star can pretty much overhaul anything you want at a later stage or even build you a new ship, once you got the hang of the old one.” He said with a friendly smile, before he got up. “In any case Thast, you should pick a ship, deal with your problem and then join me at the big Gete star. Once you have selected your ships design, it will take roughly 2 weeks before your new ship lands. It will be exactly here, cloaked and on auto pilot. Since you don´t have a crew yet, it will depart again once you are on board and take you directly towards the Gete Star.” Dain said, explaining things in a rapid fashion as he was pushing a few buttons on the chair of his arm. Now that he had everything underway he wanted to move on, he was actually quite a busy man, but for the love of god he could not get these buttons to work. “Now be well, train hard and I will see you in two or three weeks. Bye. Petey, transport Thast outside and take off.” He quickly said. A moment later Thast vanished from the table, the engines fired up and the greased dark light engine began to hum. Dain had a lot of things to prepare for now that he had a new recruit. It was something he tended to keep hidden, but just the amount of paperwork would take at least a day. Of course since he signed everything himself it was expedited quickly. The normal waiting time for a ship was usually three to six months alone. The reason he quickly raffled things up though was for a different reason. Through the chip embedded in his brain Petey had informed him of a situation that had arisen. Another Ravager, a captain by the name of Bartho, was in trouble it seemed and he was the closest ship in range. From what he could tell, the captain had just stolen some very valuable information from a planet for a client and was now being chased by the local authorities. What was strange was that the new war cruiser of Bartho was top of the line and Dain could hardly imagine the man being in serious trouble. However he knew the captain quite well and he was as hardy as they came. If he had send out the SOS signal, it meant something was definitely wrong. Since he was the closest Ravager in the near it was his duty to assist. “Petey, set course for that SOS signal and fire up all main guns. Also alert any Ravager in the near to stand by and wait for further orders.” He said serious as he made himself comfortable, slid away the comfortable armrest from his chair. Underneath the cosy padding were the imprints custom made for his arms and hand. As soon as he placed them in, locks slid out to lock them in tight and a helmet equipped from the back of his chair. As soon as everything was in place, Dain grunted softly as he raised his own power, only for it to be directly absorbed into the ship. It was the unique thing that set his ship apart from the rest. Rather then use standard engines and batteries, the ship operated directly by using the power he generated. Using it to fuel the shields, engines and weapons. He had stolen the technology from a race in the south quadrant and then adopted it for his own use. They arrived in a matter of moments at the location of the SOS and the ship was there indeed. However even from his own ship he felt there was barely any life aboard, there were no enemy ships and it did not look damaged at all. A frown appeared on Dain´s face, when suddenly he saw something move. Something was moving on the outside of the warcruiser. Using the helmet to direct the ship, the imagine in front of him zoomed in on the movement and then his blood froze. “This is captain Dain Sincara, to all Ravagers and local ships. Please avoid this area, I am erecting a quarantine zone! I request that all local authorities erect a blockade in a diameter of three light years around me!” He said with a deadly serious look in his face as he recorded his message, before reaching out his mind to the weapon controls on his ship and unleashing the full brunt upon the ship that used to belong to the late captain Bartho.
