The gentle hum of his war cruiser's hyperdrive was just enough white noise to lull him to sleep. The massive behemoth drifted idly through space with no true destination, simply because Brisk had not assigned one to his crew. They carried out their menial tasks—keeping every deck of the ship and its quarters spotless and clean, checking and rechecking fuel levels, and constant vigilance of monitoring radar systems, shield levels, and power output. This was more of a systems check—a test drive, if the truth were told. The war cruiser was new, emblazoned with the standard Imperial emblem so as to ward off pirates and other brigands. Brisk sat in a plush, high backed chair that resembled a velvet throne. His arms were folded, his tail snaked around his narrow waist like a seat belt. One leg folded neat over the other, his wavering foot the only indication he was still awake even though his eyes were closed. Every so often one of his men would pause near him, checking the holographic itinerary in their hand before glancing at the commodore, perhaps weighing the option of risking his ire by waking him. Brisk, if nothing else, was notorious for being cranky if his nap was interrupted. A blaring sound cut through the serenity of the ship like a hot knife, jolting Brisk to attention as his men rushed into action. Red light filled the command center, alarms wailing as the ship detected movement. In the blink of an eye, another war cruiser seemed to materialize right before them, as if it had just dropped out of FTL travel. "Sir?" One of his helmsmen asked, offering a stiff salute. "An unidentified vessel has just entered our air space. Should we hail them?" Brisk sighed, lowering his hands against the arm rests as he settled back into his chair. "By all means." "Yes sir!" The helmsman spun in his chair, pressing a button on the console before him. It would transmit a signal to the arriving ship, a massive war cruiser not unlike his own, though decidedly not affiliated with the Empire. " Attention, intruder! You are interfering with an official mission sanctioned by the Empire. Lower your shields and prepare to be boarded. Once a viable inspection has been made, you'll be free to go. Do you read me? Answer, now." tag: Dain Sincara // post count: oo1

Dain was just on a routine mission. Well at least for him routine. He was transporting a lot of food and vegetables for a planet on the brink of starvation. Apparently there was a war somewhere in this galaxy and one of the sides was losing. How unspectacular droll. When one of the empires lost the space around a planet, it got caught of guard and here is where it had drawn Dain´s attention. Neither the losing nor the victorious side had come to him. Instead a single young boy had broken through the blockade of ships and through a lot of sideways had found his way to him.
The young Aropiok had then somehow convinced Dain it was worth taking the risk. Promising him all the treasures the Saiya-Jin could find on his home planet, if he could help them with their food supplies.
It was a tantalizing task and Dain knew all too well it probably would not be worth his time. His records had indicated the planet was a mere overgrown market. The people were not farmers, they were merchants in a spacehub. It had been founded several hundred years ago and despite having flourished, making several new settlements and mining operations, the people did not nearly grow enough crops to maintain themselves.
They simply had no need. Their planet was conveniently located in the a most empty pocket of the galaxy. It was why the tradehub was created in the first place and their trading position had granted them enough power to trade food and any other necessities. In fact they were so rich they were able to get a planetary shield and some of the most sophisticated defenses available. It was why the planet had never been conquered, not even threatened. The only mistake was that at one point the Magister of the planet decided to ally himself with the Gruk. A powerful race that was slowly conquering their solar system and already aiming their eyes out wards. For seeing this the man made a bet and for the next hundred years it made them rich.
Using the tradehub the Gruk expanded outward and kept conquering planet after planet, until their neighbors grew upset and formed their own alliance. Bit by bit the might of the alliance began pushing back the Gruk until eventually they defeated the Gruk in the empty void. The space battle that took place was one for the ages, yet eventually the Gruk lost and had to retreat to their own solar system. It was a phyrric victory though and the alliance lost over 95% of it´s offensive fleet. Over half of the ships were completely destroyed and the other half so severely damaged it would take years to fully repair all of them.
Without the hub to supply them the alliance could not press forward into Gruk territory and with their losses being so heavy, they could not invade the planet either.
So the hub was caught in the middle. Unable to trade and forced to starve if nothing was going to change. That was where Dain came in. His ship was supposed to break through the blockade and provide enough food to last them a year. So his holds were stocked to the brim. Not with actual food, but with food replicators and the blocks that those machines used. Even his own private quarters had been stuffed. Only the bridge was still free of them and that is where Dain suddenly got the hail.
“Very well, come aboard! I will allow you and a crew to beam directly onto the bridge.” Dain said, trying to sound cheerful, even if he could curse the gods for his rotten luck.
To run into the empire was always a pain. He was not exactly their star child, even if he had done some highly classified missions for them. There were insurances for him, but for him to be actually able to play those, he would already have to be captured and ready to spill the beans on some very high people in the empire. Not a place he wanted to be.
However he could not afford to be searched to thoroughly either. Even if he was on a mission of aid, that had nothing to do with the empire, he was -as always- carrying quite a bit of contraband and his motives where not as pure as Aropiok was hoping. Sure he was going to deliver the food and get paid. He was also paid by the alliance to disable the shield and kill the Magister, making room for his succesor who was in his path. While the Gruk where paying him to clear the area of alliance ships to help them recapture the area.
Dain had a plan to make all three happen and get paid three times for his effort. None of the contracts where exclusive and his loyalty belonged to himself, not any of these three.
Now if only the empire would not interfere, he could get quite rich. Especially once the rest of the Ravagers would arrive to start mining the remains of the space battles. Thousands of carcasses of battle cruisers ships and heavier, among millions of fighters. Just from the precious hull metals, they could make a fortune.
“Aropiok, go to my room and hide there. Petey show him the way!” Dain bellowed, just as he made a few hand gestures to clear the rest of the bridge. “May I ask what you are looking for?”

The two Galactic Patrolmen glanced about Dain's ship, ignoring the man as they began sifting everything through their wary eyes. One of them wore a combat scouter that provided a live feed back to the main ship, so that Brisk and his men could keep track of what was going on. The first poured over several crates, examining each with the scrutiny one expected from one who took their job far too seriously. He poked and prodded, pried open the corners of lids to peek inside at the goods. "Food. Lots of it," he stated to his partner, who stood aside with Dain, keeping his energy rifle leveled at the Saiyan throughout the ordeal. The other grunt snorted, shooting Dain a suspicious glance. "What do you need with all of this food, huh? If you ask me, you're attempting to smuggle some illegal goods. Sorry, but we'll be confiscating all of this now." He turned his back to Dain, lowering his rifle as the pair of them began to prep the cargo from transport. "Those fools."Brisk's voice could scarce be heard over the din of the soldiers, having gathered around the command room. The helmsman swiveled in his chair to face the Frost Demon. "Commodore?" Brisk sighed, propping an elbow up onto one of the arm rests and resting his chin upon his balled fist. "This man is clearly no merchant. Smuggler at best. He also boasts impressive power. I can sense it, even from this distance." The helmsman's eyes widened, throat bobbing as he swallowed the nervous lump forming there. "S-Should I recall our men—?" "Don't bother. They'll likely be dead in a matter of moments. Summon Zabra and Celebri. This could get dicey." "Y-Yes sir!" tag: Dain Sincara // post count: oo2

Brisk had no clue how right he was. Well actually that is just a general saying, as he apparently knew exactly what was going to happen. The moment the two men had stopped speaking and lowered their guns, Dain had simply sighted. Of course he had not wanted these men to find the goods, but to actually make a problem out of a cargo room filled with food. A vein of annoyance ran across his forehead as he stepped forward. The two men still did try to respond, aiming their guns and even firing a shot or two. Regardless their lifeless bodies fell to the ground a moment later and the vein on Dain´s forehead was pulsing a bit less. Albeit only a tiny bit. This was a mess and he had to quell it now or this was going to get very messy. He had more ships on the way and his ship was probably equal to his foes. However no doubt his foe could raise more ships as well and the last thing he needed was a full space battle between the Ravagers and the little empire this captain belonged to. No matter which side would win, his wallet and profit would lose anyway. “Okay I am withdrawing visiting rights. Now I need my ship in one piece, so I am coming outside. How about we meet face to face and talk about this like gentleman?” He said as he gritted his teeth and quickly followed a practiced set of actions. First he transformed, albeit keeping his power to a bare minimum, so he would not alert the enemy. Next he summoned his clone and then equipped his black combat armor, before telling Petey to teleport him onto the outer hull of his cruiser. If anything Dain did not like battles between war cruisers. They were messy, took forever and he always had to repair his ship afterward. He did not see why he would have to go through the trouble if he could simply power up and blow it up in a single attack, just like he did planets. There was another reason he wanted to meet the captain of the vessel though. He was getting sick and tired of the empire always getting in his way. Normally he tended to run, but today he decided he would make a statement. “Hello captain in the service of the empire. My name is Dain Sincara, leader of the Ravagers. Next time we meet, remember this meeting and turn back the moment you and your comrades see me coming!” He said as he began powering up a bit, gathering power in the palms of his hands. He was just about to release two KI-Waves towards the enemy ship -not enough to destroy it, merely knock it around pretty well. If he destroyed it, who would relay the message after all?!?- when he suddenly felt two signatures something approach him.

"You summoned us, Commodore?" Zabra and Celebri appeared at either side of his throne. Despite the panic sweeping through the soldiers, Brisk exuded a eerie calm that seemed to soothe all who were near him. His captains, of course, were unafraid as both observed the figure upon the holographic screen, donning his intimidating black armor and shouting his challenge. "He's strong," Celebri said. "This won't be easy." Zabra laughed, a throaty chuckle full of derision as she folded her arms, observing Dain. "He cannot compare to the glory of our master." "It's got nothin' to do with glory, Zabra. I'm saying—" "And I'm saying we'll deal with him, or anything other threat to my lord—" "Quiet." Their bickering fell silent. Brisk rose from his chair, standing between them. His eyes fixed upon the screen. "We have a guest. Let's not be rude." "Of course, Master." Magenta energy sparked to life, swirling about them, ensconcing them in a cyclone of aura before they disappeared. They appeared upon the hull of their hulking war ship, gazing across the expanse at the black clad warrior and another man. Brisk narrowed his gaze at the clone. "I don't recall seeing this one." Zabra frowned, conjuring a pair of exo-suits to cover herself and Celebri. Unlike Brisk, they could not sustain themselves in the cold depths of deep space. "What will you have us do, Master?" came her muffled voice through the rebreather helmet she now donned. Brisk folded his arms and assessed the situation. At this point, a fight was inevitable. "Let us engage this foe. And if we cannot beat him, destroy his ship anyway." Using her demon magic, Zabra launched herself and Celebri across the expanse, making a beeline straight for Dain, both of them firing energy blast after energy blast. Whether they struck him or his ship, their objective would be accomplished. Brisk, on the other hand, paced along the hull of his ship, observing from a distance. He would study his foe for now. But the moment he spotted a weakness, he would exploit it to the fullest. tag: Dain Sincara // post count: oo3 BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Dain simply cracked his neck as he felt two others appear near him. It was not what he had expected, but nothing too bad and he was looking forward to the fight. The only problem was that on the hull of his own ship he could not really unleash his power. If he did he was liable to destroy the Atrioch by accident. A simple missed blast could rupture the hull or he could knock the intruders straight through his ship. “Petey, focus shields directly onto the hull and prepare to seal many hull breaches.” Dain said calmly as he placed his hand in his armored neck and cracked it a final time. “So you two really want to test your strength against me?” He said with a grin, his confidence shining through, even despite the metalic voice, just as the blasts started coming in. As he clenched his fist his golden aura appeared around him, completed with blue lightning. For the moment Dain was forced to play defense. Moving in and out rapidly, squatting away all the blasts that were coming at him and his ship back into space. It was easier said then done though and despite his best efforts a few got through and impacted on the outer ship hull. Covering the area with smoke and flames. It was not enough to break the Katchin hull, yet several systems inside the ships were knocked around, including the sensors that could have picked up the other creature sneaking around the hull. As Dain was defending though, his clone jumped into action. Blasting through the smoke it closed the gap between itself and the demoness, only to appear behind her just before he got to her and tried to hit her in the side with a devastating roundhouse kick. It did not wait to see the result though as the next moment it vanished and appeared in front of the Namekian, throwing a text book flying Uppercut at the green warrior.

As tough as his captains were, they would not last long in this bout. Brisk followed the clone with his eyes, studying its movements. It was an oddity, to be sure, not donning any sort of protective equipment in the harsh environment of deep space. The lack of oxygen and bitter cold did not seem to slow it down in the slightest as Zabra and Celebri defended against the heavy blows. Brisk had a different task. Though their initial assault reached the ship, between its shields and the black-clad warrior protecting it, the pair of them alone would not complete the objective. His crimson gazed searched the scorched hull of his foe's ship, finding the place under the heaviest concentration of fire. There... that spot would be his target. Ensuring Zabra and Celebri were engaging the second fighter, Brisk traced the trajectory from Dain's ship with his eyes, to a particular spot high above his own head. He floated up into the air, stopping at a precise few meters above his own war ship. "This should do it."Bright crimson aura formed a large orb around him, red electricity crackling along its spherical surface. A soft grunt escaped him, arms splayed wide at his sides as he condensed the energy into a solid dome, strong enough to penetrate the most unyielding substance. No doubt Dain's ship was reinforced—it would take tremendous force to penetrate it. What better way to test his theory? He shot forth like a comet, a stream of red energy trailing behind him as he blazed across the gap like a missile, aiming for the hull of Dain's ship. Arms pinned to his sides from the velocity of his flight, Brisk braced himself for a mighty impact. Five seconds... three seconds... one... He slammed into the hull of Dain's ship, the red sphere exploding upon impact, as if he were a literal cannonball. The impact sent a massive ripple of force along the hull, followed with the sound of a loud sonic boom! tag: Dain Sincara // post count: oo4 BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

So that was it. Dain thought with a smile as he finally identified the strange feeling he had been having. Even if the ship sensors were down, his own feelers were not. Although until the man actually made the attack, Dain could not track him. Now he was almost too late though and had he not have a fast majority of power at his disposal, his ship would definitely have taken the brunt of the attack. For a brief moment though he unleashed his true power, the air trembling for a split second as he dashed off with lightning speed. The Changeling -now that he got a look at him- almost looking to stand still from his point of view. Still it was going to be a close call and he had to make a sliding dive, like you see baseball players do to reach the plate. Just in the last second he managed to slide under the incoming meteorite and extended his hands like a cup to catch the bald head. The impact was enough to push him almost a feet into the katchin hull, but when the smoke cleared up, the changeling would see Dain grinning from up close. “Close, but no cigar!” He said with a grin, his back aching from the impact and a bead of sweat rolling down his forehead. That was too close… He thought to himself as he vanished from underneath the changeling, only to appear at his side, aiming to send him flying with a round house kick. If things went well he would appear a bit later in the path of the changeling, his elbow extended, hoping to catch the changeling on the nose with the stickiest bit of bone. Meanwhile his clone kept engaging the two other fighters. “Pleasure to meet you, I presume you are the captain? In which case let me introduce myself, Dain Sincara. Bounty hunter and leader of the Ravagers.” He said with a grin, as he let his golden aura burn brightly around him. “Under which authority do you think you are stopping my vessel? Even if I am a smuggler as your men claimed, this is neutral territory… I think…” He said, the last part with a bit of doubt, as he actually was not too sure. He had been to busy napping as the traveled to keep track.

Both of Dain's blows glanced off the surface of the magenta orb of protective energy that shielded Brisk. The Frost Demon smirked up at the warrior, grateful for Zabra's ever vigilant eye. He glanced over to see her firing volatile bolts of magic at the clone whilst Celebri engaged it in hand to hand combat, his green fists a flurry of rapid strikes. "Commodore," he stated, returning his attention to Dain. "I'm not a captain. I am a commodore of the Imperial Royal Navy. An ultramarine in service to His Majesty, Emperor Absolut. Not that I expect you to understand any of this." He sighed, pacing a few steps along the hull of Dain's ship. "I don't want to fight you. But you made the grave mistake of killing two of my men. Such an action cannot go unpunished. So, prepare yourself... though I don't particularly care how this ends." He raised an arm, aiming a 'finger gun' at Dain. He cocked his thumb and fired two precise beams of ki, thin and condensed enough to pierce even the strongest armor. This man was a fool to engage him in the vacuum of space. He didn't have to defeat Dain. He needed only to rob him of his precious oxygen. tag: Dain Sincara // post count: oo5 BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

Dain simply stood there, listening to the changeling, simply nodding occasionally to indicate he had not fallen asleep. -Even if there was nothing else he rather wanted to do.- The saddest part of his outfit was that nobody could see his face and he preferred to grin rather then talk. Like he had no desire to express he actually did understand Brisk. He had fought in the Vegetian army for decades and had served the Earth military for a long period of time. Dain knew what service and servitude was and in a way he respected it. Quite a bit actually. He just had grown tired about it and decided to be his own man for a century or two. “I am sorry, but if I recall they attacked me and my ship first…” Was all Dain said to another accusation of him being a ruthless killer. Why did everyone always attack him and then blame him if they died… Just in time though he realized what the changeling was trying to do. Or rather too late, but he had just enough time to shift his body so the fist blast hit and pierced his shoulder, rather then one of his vital organs. Instantly blood was flying through space, droplets simply hovering in the vacuum and for a split second Dain could feel the pressure of vacuum trying to suck his entire body through the small hole in his armor. Luckily his suit was not build as badly as being solely reliant upon the plating. Before the vacuum could do any damage, the VI in the suit already closed the hole with a temporary force field. “Okay two mistakes.” Dain said as he raised a single finger, as he landed calmly on the ship, his clone doing the same at the other side of the changeling, trapping the being in between them like a Vegemite sandwich. “One, don´t presume me or my suit are that easily defeated.” He said as he raised one finger, while using his other hand to deflect the other finger blast back into space. “Two, we are on my ship, between the hull and the shields. What makes you think it is impossible to fill that space with air?” He asked with a grin, albeit he did not ask Petey to fill it just yet. True it was possible to fill the space, but to do that he would need to drain his life support systems and vacuum out the largest parts of the ship, to fill the area quick. Since his ship was not build for internal vacuum, it would do quite a bit of damage. Still… it was good to have that up his sleeve he guessed. “Oh and I forgot about three…” He said as he raised a third finger, before extending both hands towards the changeling, his clone doing the same. “You were born a mere changeling… though I guess you can´t help that too much.” He said as he began unleashing a full barrage of KI-Blasts, hoping to catch the changeling between him and the clone, doing as much damage as he could. Of course Dain did not mean it, he actually believed Changeling's were the best opponents to fight. Somehow he considered them to be the arch rivals of the Saiya-Jin. He just wanted to see his foe get mad and give it his best. As a true Saiya-Jin, he desired the challenge.

"Oh, dear." A barrage of energy blasts flew across the space towards him. Brisk threw up a hasty guard to prepare himself, but he had not noticed the clone closing in from behind. Those blasts slammed into him again and again, his body twisted and jerking in the midst of the miasma before a large explosion rocked the hull of Dain's ships. His ship fared well as the blast as mostly nullified by the shields. Brisk, on the other hand, did not fare as well. As the smoke cleared, he floated in the midst of his foes, his body badly burned and bruised. His shoulders rose and fell with heavy breaths, and as he lowered his arms from his guard, one of his eyes were shut tight in pain. "Y-You!" Anger overtook him. Uncharacteristically so. Logic dictated he should retreat. But in that moment, fueled by the man's comments about changelings, Brisk sought little more than to teach the fool a lesson. "You'll learn to hold your tongue before insulting the likes of me!" he declared, firing off a barrage of ki blasts of his own at Dain. His captains, having caught up to the clone, observed the rare showing of anger. Worry written all over their faces as they glanced at one another. If this kept up, they would need to beat a hasty retreat. tag: Dain Sincara // post count: 6 BATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

“Oh… but I know exactly what I am up against.” Dain said with a grin as his golden aura began to expand as he clenched his fist. “Perhaps it is time I show you what you are truly up against. Sorry, but you are way out of your league, little changeling.” He said with a cocky grin as he dug his fingers nails deeper into his flesh, drawing a bit of blood as he closed his eyes for a second, before letting out a blood curling scream. In a moment the darkness of space was lit up by the power exploding from the Saiya-Jins body and the entire ship trembled under the might he was unleashing. His body surrounded by a golden flame aura, filled with blue lightning, so dense it was hard to see the black armor underneath at all. “Sorry commodore, but this is the end of the line for you.” Dain said with his arrogance dripping heavily through his voice, just as his clone appeared beside him, mimicking his every move. Dain began hovering a few feet above the ground as he stretched out his arms beside him. Pure golden energy began to glow around him, his aura burning with a new intensity. Blue lightning began crackling around him as his muscles swell and veins popped up all over his arms. He spread his legs slightly, as if to stabilize himself and contain the tremendous amount of energy he was summoning. FINAAAALLL FLAASSSSSSSHHHH! He bellowed as both he and his clone slammed their hands together and released a beam of epic proportions. As the two touched they merged, doubling in size and rushing for both the changeling, the captains and using the commodores ship as a backstop. His muscles where aching slightly from the strain as he threw every bit of power he had into the attack. “You should have run or let me be… He muttered under his breath, as he realized all too well this incident would probably be blamed on him as well. Yet it was too late to reconsider now.

Dain's power seemed to illuminate the very heavens. But the blast from he and his clone decimated them. Brisk was wholly enveloped in the brilliant flash of light and energy, a heavy explosion resounding within the deep vacuum of space. Neither sight nor sound could be seen or heard of him. Zabra let out a choked sob, hand clutching at her chest. To see her lord so decimated... it couldn't be. Celebri, ever able to push aside emotion so as to accomplish the task at hand, flew to her side, grasping her tightly by the arm, forcing their retreat. There would be no time to recover their master as they boarded the Imperial warship. Soon, it engaged its Albium core and disappeared, faster-than-light travel carrying it far away to some unknown destination. Leaving Brisk there alone. By some miracle he was still alive, floating unconscious in the void before Dain. His entire body was badly damaged from the encounter. His eyes managed to flutter open, his crimson gaze shifting to his foe one final time. Brisk opened his mouth as if he wanted to speak, but no words would come forth. What could he say, but admit ultimate defeat? With a sigh, his head lolled forward as he lost consciousness once more. tag: Dain Sincara // post count: 7

Okay perhaps that final attack had been overkill. Dain cocked his head and a grin as he watched the two captains run off. Of course he could have killed them and blew up their ship as well, but he did not even bother. The two of them were strong, but they posed no threat to him. Especially without their leader. He watched them leave with their ship at dazzling speeds. So fast that for a second he considered going after them, willing to test out his new greased dark light engine.
He was just about to give the command, when suddenly something caught his attention. “So… you survived. I give you praise on that, it was not like I was holding back…” He said with an amused smile as he watched the battered body of Brisk floating in front of him.
He might have slandered the changeling before, but in truth he had great respect for their people. Along with the Majin, the Changelings were some of the most amazing fighters, especially when they learned to transform and everything. He had wanted to draw out that desire to make this a one on one fight, but got caught up in the moment and forgot to hold back.
“So what to do now…?” Dain asked with a raised eyebrow, although it was more for show than anything else. Unsurprisingly this was hardly the first time he had this happen and had decided a long time ago what to do. “You are a lucky sob…” He said with a gentle smile as he walked up towards the floating body of the changeling, carefully grabbed his arm and pulled a small device from his pocket. It was a simple locator beacon and he placed it carefully upon the burned and wounded chest.
“Petey, locate on beacon 1-a-bhg and transport the body into the healing tank. Once it is recovered, place those KI-restraining bracelets on the changeling and put him in our guest quarters.” Dain said, giving the command out loud, knowing the AI could hear him through the suit.
One lucky SOB indeed. The guest quarters was a room made of solid Katchin without any doors or openings, the only way to get in was the ships teleporter, yet it was comfy. With three hundred square meters of room, including kitchen, luxurious bath, training room, and even consoles, it was designed to make any `guest´ comfortable. They would even get two servants to attend to their needs and could make various requests to make their life more bearable.
There were two reasons for this. One Dain was not a monster, even if he was often forced to play one and two… it was always amusing to watch them figure out ways to escape.
“Okay transport me in as well and then continue our path. We still have supplies to deliver, kill a leader and take out a fleet.” He said with a serious voice as he powered down the moment Brisk had been teleported to a healing tank.
