Thast would wake with a blinding white light in his eyes. Shaking his head, he would regain his vision to find he was in a much different environment from his bunk in the barracks. He had been brought to some sort of quaint hotel room. The walls were a dark red color that perfectly complimented the room's hardwood floor, and Thast himself was laying in a king size bed on a memory foam mattress. "I could get use to this," he would quietly chuckle. Cracking his neck before sitting up in bed, Thast would begin to remember the events that unfolded. He was taken to some mad scientist's lab, and experimented on, all while under the supervision of earth's military forces. Luckily, he had been saved by a crew of bandana-wearing soilders. Thast would remove the covers of the bed, and shift his body to stand, and as he did something unusual happened. His entire body felt strange, he felt strong, much stronger. Looking down at his arms, he would notice his new markings for the first time. One arm, as white as snow, and the other as black as coal. This could only mean one thing, he was not dreaming after all. The only question he had left was: "Where am I?"
seconds after he stood tall, a voice mixed with the sound of radio static would echo throughout his little room "Hey, boss. It looks like he lived through it. We should probably explain what happened..." Thast would swallow hard, thinking that these people may be the very one that experimented on him. Another voice would be heard over the intercom, this one much more deep and commanding "CP give me that damn mic!" "But boss- I wanted to be the one to ask him!" "Oh for the love of-!" this dialog would be cut short by Thast gritting his teeth, "What did you people do to me? Where am I?" the two voices stopped bickering for a moment, and the masculine voice would reply "We didn't do anything to you bud, earth's military didn't either. The Red Ribbon Army played you..."
"The Red Ribbon Army?" Thast would say under his breath. He felt as though he had heard the name before, but could not quite put a face to them. "Look I know your under a lot of stress, but that stuff they did to you made you strong. Your probably one of the strongest earthlings in fact." Thast would take another look at his body, aside from the scars, he appeared to be in even better physical shape than before, maybe they did make something stronger. "Ok, start from the beginning. What happened exactly..."
The deep voice would clear his throat and begin to explain "The guy who brought you to that lab was a Red Ribbon Army recruiter. They are a terrorist group looking to take over the world by using the dragon balls. In fact, the people here use to work with them. Eventually we realized exactly how evil the organization was, and decided to form a resistance of sorts. We heard a rumor about a lab where they were planing to create super soldiers, so we decided to break in and rescue the soldiers in question. As it just so happened, those soldiers were you..." Thast would begin to concentrate, trying to see the power within himself. In his mind he would see the symbol of Yin and Yang, perhaps the legend was true. Knowing he could never go back to the military, as he would be considered a deserter, Thast would make a proposition "I see you have a good operation going on here. Well, I have no where else to go. Let me help you, and your resistance fight against these freaks..." Though the general's face could not be seen over the intercom, he would grin. "Kid, you've got yourself a deal..."

It appeared Thast managed to cut a deal with the man in charge, but just who is this man anyhow. Thast figured he must be a stoic, commanding type of guy who could control a room of rabid animals with just his voice. Walking over to the wooden door of his room, he would turn the handle, and then enter into a large metal hallway. All around him were similar doors, which likely lead to different rooms like his own. The intercom would turn on a second time, this time with a new voice. "All right recruit, before you join, we need to know your capabilities... You’re going to run a bit of a gauntlet we set up for ya, and if you manage to succeed, we'll know those new powers of yours are for real." Thast grinned with anticipation at first but then began to wonder what would have happened if he had declined. Given the situation, the chances of Thast turning down the opportunity were slim to be fair.
“Alright, I’ll take your test. What do I have to do?” the intercom would turn on, but there would be no sound for a few seconds before the stoic voice would reply “Survive, and try not to kill anyone…” With that remark, the various wooden doors which lined the halls would seemingly fly open. Men wearing black military gear, with red bandana’s over their heads would rush into the hallway from these doors, all of them wielding various machine guns. Thast’s eyes would widen, and he would feel a sense of utter danger in the pit of his stomach. “Umm, don’t you think this is a tad bit extreme for a new recruit,” Thast would say aloud. “Have some faith in yourself kid…” The small army would surround Thast, and then begin firing their various weapons. The young human would cross his arms in a defensive position, expecting to die in a hail of bloody bullets. As the bullets impacted his body, they world crush themselves against his skin, leaving him nearly unharmed. Realizing that he was in fact not dead, Thast would take a look down at his body. This time he would be surrounded by a gray aura, his Ki was beginning to shine through. Invigorated with confidence, he would dash towards a soldier with speed he never thought possible, and manage to land a straight left punch sending the man flying into a group of other soldiers. Within a few moments, Thast would jump from man to man knocking each of them out in a different manner, soon there would be no opponents left. “Impressive. You have no foes left to face.” Behind the human would be a short dog-like earthling, the one with the deep stoic voice from before. Looking down at himself once again, and then back to the man, thast would remark “I’m not use to this kind of power, I need someone to tech me.” The small dog-man would stick a cigar in his mouth and reply “Don’t worry about it kid, we’ll get ya some proper training. I’m General Thorn, the leader of this operation. I’ve got a feeling you’ll fit right in.” Thorn would give Thast a pat on the back with his paw, and begin walking down the hall, seemingly forgetting the unconscious men on the ground. “Follow me kid, let me introduce you to the team… And don’t worry about these guys, they’ll wake up eventually…”

Following the general down the large metallic hallway, Thast would begin to realize the place was not quite as glamorous as he thought. The steel walls showed signs of rust, the lights had a tendency to flicker every now and then, and the hallway was littered with various mechanical devices. After a brief walk General Thorn would press his paw against some sort of green electronic scanner. An electronic voice would remark "Welcome, General Thorn," and with that a hidden titanium door would open. Inside Thast could see a vast amount of technology and other contraptions. "Alright kid, we call this place the war room." the general would begin to walk around the large room, and take a seat at a long metal table in the center. Clapping his hands, he would shout "CPU, Dinamo, get in here and take a look at the new guy for yourselves."
Thast would take a seat directly across from the dog-like earthling, and begin to look around the room. The walls were lined with various computer monitors, and the table he was sitting at had some sort of holographic globe floating over it. Before he had the time to ask questions however, a pair of what seemed to be humans would walk into the room. One would be a younger female with black hair and dark green eyes, while the other was a male wearing wielding goggles with brown hair and stained clothing. the male engineer would comment "So this is him huh? I guess he looks kinda tough..." Thast would stand and shake his hand "I'm Thast. Thast Rowens." the man would sarcastically respond "So I've heard. Name's Dinamo. Android 537, former Red Ribbon Army. I'm the guy who designs all of our tech." the woman would follow up behind him, "And I'm C.P.U., or android 538, former Red Ribbon Army, and sister to that gearhead over there. I serve as mission control."
The General would clear this throat in an attempt to gain everyone's attention, before explaining: "Now that your all here, we can get to business. The first thing on the agenda is your new powers kid. With skills like that, the Red Ribbon Army won't stand a chance, but you'll need to master them before we can set ya loose. That's while I'll be having C.P.U. scavenge the earth for someone who can teach ya properly..." Thast would stroke his chin, "Won't that take a while?" "Perhaps, but we don't have any other options. I suggest you get some rest for today, but first thing tomorrow morning we're getting you a master." Thast would shrug, and simply get up from his seat, returning to his room with the various unconscious men scattered about the hallway. Maybe he did just need some rest, maybe he would get a handle on these powers by the next morning.

As Thast drifted asleep that night he had a strangly vivid dream. He was on an unknown plane of assistance, and before him were two beings of great power. The one on the left was wrapped in golden light, and the one on the right was drenched in a purple darkness. The longer he lingered, the more the two entities began to look humanoid. The figure of light would open her lips and speak "After one thousand years our powers have finally reentered the world." The other shrouded in darkness would scoff "Pathetic, even with our power combined this boy can barely muster a Ki blast..." The figure of light would speak again, "Give him time. You can't expect a person who has gone without Ki for years to master it in a few hours." Thast would open his mouth as if trying to respond, but would find himself unable to. The dark figure would narrow his eyes at the young earthling, and give a farewell "Well, if you are ever in need of my dark powers, you are free to call upon me." "Do keep in mind however, his darkness must be tempered by my light. For this is the eternal cycle we created. I am Yin, and he is Yang..."
Thast would wake up breathing deeply, and quickly as if he had just had a nightmare. C.P.U. would walk into the room, and though she would notice something different about Thast, she decided it was best not to ask any questions. "Rise and shine thast. The general and I managed to find someone who can train you." Sitting up, and cracking his neck in a similar manner to the previous morning, the earthling would slowly stand and begin following C.P.U. without saying a word. The two of them made their way to a different section of the military base, it appeared to be some sort of underground dojo. the ground of the room was made from some sort of cushioned fabric, and various martial arts equipment could be seen scattered about the room. A much older human with a long beard would approach Thast and his android companion introducing himself "Ah, nice to meet you. Thast is it? I am master Tybon, a former member of the crane school. I will be teaching you how to wield your Ki..." With that, Thast gave the old man a bow, and he would proceed to train with him tirelessly for four whole months, two of which he would spend away from the bunker...
4 Months Later...
Thast and master Tybon returned to the hidden bunker. As the two of them descended they would be greeted by General Thorn, "Ha ha, there he is after all this time! Now that he can control his power or resistance will be unstoppable!" The old master would raise up his hand, with a grim look on his face he would say "Thast is by far the worst student I have ever trained. He is still unable to control his power, and worst of all he lacks discipline! He's your problem now! Good day to you sir!" The old man would storm off, leaving Thast to deal with the general's looks of disappointment. "Kid! Your on janitorial duty until you can get those powers of your under control!" "But--" "But nothing! Now hop to it!"
