Ruins of Peace Plaza, Abbayor
"Where do you want me to set it?
Gen floated above the tattered city-scape beneath a chunk of the golden statue that had once served as a monument to Emperor Polaris. It had been destroyed and desecrated, much like the rest of the area in the terrorist attack during the Galactic Peace Accords.
He cast a long shadow over the cleanup crew foreman below. He was a chubby green alien with a bird-like beak and hardhat over his head. He wore a neon vest and spored an incredulous look on his face. It was clear he wasn't expecting anyone to be able to heft such a large object in the air with such ease. They had cranes and anti-grav repulsors for things like that.
"I thought I told you to scram," the foreman said, pursing his beak.
"Look," Gen replied. "This will go a lot faster if you let me help."
"It ain't about letting you help. I don't want to have to pay you and we don't have insurance on you. It's more complicated than that bud."
"Fine, I guess I'll find a spot for it myself."
Gen floated away, carrying the chunk to another pile of rubbed that had been excavated. There, he dropped it. It landed with a dull thud and sent up a huge plume of dust and debris into the air. The other workers were awe-stricken as well. Gen returned to the foreman, landing next to him. He crossed his arms over his chest.
"You're a persistent bastard, I'll give you that. Why do you want to help so bad, did you lose someone during the attack?"
"No," Gen said, his face grim. "I just wish I could have been here to stop it, that's all. This city, this whole planet, has suffered a lot lately. I just want to do my part."
"Don't you have a job?"
Not yet, Gen thought, but didn't say it out loud.
"Since when does someone need an excuse to volunteer?"
"You tryna be some kind a hero or something?"
"That's the plan."
The foreman chuckled removed his hardhat, wiping the beads of sweat on his wrinkled brow with the sleeve of his forearm. Gen was surprised to see that he had a tuft of bright orange feathers atop his head, hidden beneath the hat.
"The Emperor was a hero, you know. Look what happened to him."
Gen frowned at that remark. He had come all this way to meet Polaris, to speak with him about Indigo Prime joining the Empire. He had idolized the man and the stories about him. Polaris had been a true hero, had sacrificed much to protect the galaxy. And, he had died trying to bring peace to it. That was a hero's death, an honorable death. A man couldn't ask for more.
Still, it put Gen in a predicament. He was trapped, with no way home, and was unable to fulfill his mission until there was a new Emperor throned. He had been on Abbayor for a few weeks now, living day to day. Luckily he had a chunk of zeni that the Stellar Defense Force sent with him. The foreign money had been useful for him to secure shelter and food, but it was running out. Before long he would have to find a job, or make money somehow. He had one really good idea too, but that could come later. For now, he wanted to do what he could to clean up Peace Plaza, to make right the wrongs done, the bet he could.
He had been reading about current events and atrocities all over the galaxy. How did people live with such disorder, and in such fear? It bothered him a great deal. He didn't want them to suffer anymore. His best bet was to help out as much as he could, earn some respect and a reputation as a hero. Maybe then, someone would help him find his way back to Indigo Prime. Or, perhaps his people would hear of his deeds and send someone else to come retrieve him. That was all he could hope for.
Gen had been trained to deal with tough situations, to keep composure. An operative needed to be resourceful, and needed to keep moving forward and always thinking. If they let fear and uncertainty paralyze them, then they were failing.
"Eyy boss!" a voice called out from the distance.
Both Gen and the foreman whipped around. Standing atop of one of the massive piles of rubble, which had been from a large shopping center, was one of the crewmen. He waved his arm back and forth.
"I think there's some people trapped beneath this thing. I can hear them shouting."

Niha flies overhead in the sky, weaving between the towering buildings of the planet that still stood and surveying the damages from above with a small frown curved on her lips. It wasn't her first time exploring the planets of the North Quadrant, since she had made the time to visit Tech Tech, but it was her first time visiting Abbayor. The air here was cleaner than Tech Tech despite the crowded city and clear advancement of technology, so there didn't seem to be a need for all the Biodomes to keep the citizens safe from noxious fumes. She remembered that Abut used to tell her stories about what it was like visiting the Galatic Patrol's headquarters here when they were still in service. Even all those years ago the city was a glimmering sprawl of modern technology that took the simple Namekian's breath away each time they bore witness to it. What she saw, however, was a shadow of its former self. Buildings laid snapped and broken apart on the ground, water rose in spouts from busted water lines, and several Abbayorians were left homeless on the street desperately seeking shelter. Niha couldn't believe the wreckage that was before her and her heart ached for the masses. The Other World did a good job shielding her from the nastier aspects of life. Even if she was allowed to watch conflicts with the Kai she studied under, it felt removed and distant. Laid out before her, there was no doubt to her that this was real. She didn't know the details about the war that was waged, the Galactic Empire, or the Late Emporer Polaris since she was only among the mortals for a few years now, but from what Abut told her and the story woven to her the same way as it was to many others, he was once a proud shining pillar of the community. Niha wondered how they would find someone to fill his shoes now that he was gone. She didn't know much about universal politics on a grand scale, but she always thought that Emporers were crowned after conquering something. She knew that monarchs were typically selected by birthright, but was it the same for Emporers in this context? She shuddered to think of the violence that the gap in power might provoke. War never made sense to Niha. Whether it was to fight over the physical differences between two people, divide the land that everyone felt they had a right to, or to just secure power these were no reasons that justified the ending of lives to her. She still knew that this would not stop it from existing, and the best thing for her to do was to just do what she could for the people left caught in the middle suffering after the fact. Niha thought that she might still have some traveling rations to spare to the hungry people. She also debating seeing if they had any medical tents or hospitals that were functional that she might be able to assist. Spending time with the Namekian people had finally helped her to grasp their mystical methods healing and Niha wanted to work to master it. She stopped just short of the work site Genesis and the contractors work on repairing, watching the man lower the massive pile of rubble with the rest by hand with an awe-struck expression on her face. It was an incredible feat, to say the least, one uncommon among the mortals she witnessed. Floating at that distance made it difficult for her to hear their conversations, so she tries to drift down to prepare to politely introduce herself and inquire where she might be able to help too. That's when the man calling to them in the distance distracts her from it. There were people trapped? They had to do something! Who knows when the fragile structure might cave in, or worse, what would happen if any of the victims needed immediate medical attention. " I-I know some things about medicine if they're hurt. And I have a canteen if they've been without water long enough to get dehydrated. It's pretty easy for me to fit into small spaces. I promise I won't get in the way." The mousy girl timidly gets out on a nervous squeak, twisting and fidgeting with her fingers while looking up at Genesis for permission or guidance. Niha knew that she wouldn't be able to offer the physical strength that he could provide, so there was little hope for her to save them all on her own. She hoped that she would still be able to do something to help him out without being shoo'd away. WC: 782 Genesis

Lantus would look down upon the horrid mess with a mix of shame and disappointment. It was their job to protect King Gallius. But they had failed utterly. Lantus did not deserve this crown, nor did he want it. King Gallius had decided otherwise, however. What he saw in him, Lantus would never understand. The Saiyan was a simple fighter seeking redemption for his past. He saw the young man turn from a golden eyed optimist, into a stalwart King. But now his King, his friend, was brought into the everlasting slumber. He died with a smile on his face… “King Lantus, we’ve gotten a decent portion of rubble removed and started handing out rations” “Thank you, Sir Dikon. I’ll be over shortly to help” Dikon would nod and return to his post. Lantus gave one last sigh before turning his sights on his men. So much lost in such little time. But he was now the Golden King, and he couldn’t afford anymore mourning. Suddenly, his men would begin shouting. A group was forming over by the rubble, someone was found. Lantus quickly ordered his men to assist in any way that they could. They weren’t much for healing, but they sure as hell were strong enough to lift rubble. Creed slowly floated down to the rubble with his arms crossed. The metal mask gave him the rather nasty sneer. Slowly he would scan over the various bits and pieces of rubble, making sure that they weren’t covering up any lifeforms. Emerald eye beams would burst forth and saw various pieces of debris in half, allowing for easier removal by the construction crews. “Why couldn’t I just go and take down more criminals?” “Because that’s the Abbyorian Police Force’s job. We aren’t on Tech Tech with a bunch of drones and inept police officers, the Officers here are more than capable of handling their own” “Doesn’t look like it from here…” “Alright, then how about because I said to?” Creed would sigh. “This whole image keeping thing is getting on my nerves” “If you want to keep your whole armor stint going, then you need a better image than the one you got now. Tech Tech thinks you’re the literal devil. Unlike Tech Tech, Earth and other planets might actually have a chance of taking you down. I don’t want to see you die because of this stupid-” “Alright, Alright. I understand. I’ll do it for you” Creed’s scanner would eventually fall onto a large grouping of Construction workers and a rather strange being in… Was it in Spandex? Another being would appear, this one much more familiar. The strange lack of a power level was a dead giveaway. They seemed to of found something underneath the rubble. For now he would simply wait and watch, no need to dirty his hands just yet. Word Count: 475 Niha Genesis

Gen bounded the pile of rubble in a single leap, landing next to the construction worker. He then crouched low and placed his gloved fingers against the splintered and broken duracrete. The sound was faint, he could just barely hear them. Duracrete tended to absorb sound, for the most part. The material was densely packed and solid, a far advanced version of concrete. It was lighter and less brittle, leading to more structural integrity.
Still, the fact that these trapped survivors could be heard meant that there was an opening of some sort. He was felt for vibrations or shifting in the pile. It seemed stable, but that could change at any moment.
Tapping his wrist a holographic computer display sprang to life. He stood and swooped through the air, passing through several menus until he found his map, which he cycled over to the street grid layout. This would show things how they were before the terrorist attack, and maybe he could better judge what this pile was actually on top of.
"Well, you wanted to be a hero so here's your chance," the foreman called from the bottom. "What do you think?"
A young woman approached and offered her help in medicine. That would be useful. Gen only knew some basic first aid, the sort to keep his comrades alive in a battle. There was more nunance to medicine than that though.
He passed her a smile, both warm and inviting. "Thank you. My name is Genesis. I'm with the Stellar Defense Force. Uh--we're a foreign military organization, I guess. I'm just here as a volunteer and help out with the recovery efforts. Your assistant will definitely be needed milady. If those people have been down there as long as I think they have, they'll need plenty of water, food, and medical attention."
He panned and rotated the map, as it was a three dimensional image. Tapping his chin, he studied it intently. He checked the various layers and his eyes lit up when he realized just where they were.
"Ah. It's what I thought. These people are trapped inside of an underground mag-train tunnel."
He showed everyone around him the crimson line on his hologram that ran down the length of what had been the street here. "Looks like this building here collapsed outside of the exit tunnel, and blocked it in."
The hologram vanished and he surveyed his surroundings some more, trying to think up a good plan of attack on how to get them out. Hearing their faint screams made him want to just bust through the rubble, but his instincts told him that would be a bad move. Despite all his might, if the rubble wasn't moved carefully and in an precise manner, it was possible that it could all come crashing down on them.
That alone was a terrifying thought.
He bit the corner of his lip and turned to the foreman. "I could probably break through most of this debris with relative ease, but I'm afraid of causing a cave in."
The foreman was fanning himself, hardhat off. He looked a bit baffled too. "It's a tough one kid. I'm not sure. It could take us all day and all night if we do it piece by piece."
Gen winced. He didn't know how much time those people had down there.
"If anyone has any ideas, I can be the muscle. I just want to make sure we do this with as much safety in mind as possible."
He couldn't be afraid to ask others for help. That was important too. He was way better at fighting and using his colossal power than he was carefully planning an extraction. Not that he wouldn't give his best effort, he was just hoping for a keen mind among the bunch to lend him a hand.

Genesis' kind smile leaves nearly all of Niha's face flushed with warm purple and pink hues. She glances down and off to the side to shyly look away from him with a faint and timid giggle of laughter. Niha wasn't sure if she meant to laugh or not this time, but it just slipped out and bubbled over with the faint fluttering of her heart. She couldn't really remember the last time someone treated her with such respect and kindness the first time they met her. Most of the people she ran into were typically unimpressed with her and dismissed her often with callous remarks, while even the others that enjoyed her company would still typically look on her like a child that needed supervision or guidance. This handsome man actually told her that she would be needed and referred to her like she was a proper lady! She swallows down a lump in her throat and tries to push these warm, distracting feelings aside to look up and watch the 3D grids and maps that Genesis studies through his holograms. There were people in danger and they would, of course, take first priority in her mind. She side-steps to be closer to Genesis and stands on the tip of her toes to get a better look. Not that Niha wanted to admit it, but this made for a decent excuse to be nearer to the masculine figure too. Creed is still distant enough that he does not get noticed by her. His suit did a decent job at keeping his power levels hidden from her too. Niha wouldn't have been able to sense him even if she wasn't trying to avoid getting too flustered. She frowns and turns her head to look over to where the exit tunnel used to be according to the maps and Genesis' directions. It was going to be difficult trying to come up with a plan that would not sacrifice on the safety, efficiency, or haste that they needed to get this done in. She wasn't quite small enough that clearing out enough space for her seemed a safe viable option. If she could fit under there, then what would be her plan from there? It would be difficult for Genesis to provide her instructions through the mostly sound-proof building materials and she didn't feel she would be able to lead the people properly enough on her own. Then, something clicked in her head. Niha had something even more miniscule than she was that could work! She reaches up to brush her fingers through her hair, coaxing out a small metallic drone from where it was nesting in her locks. The small rounded device is dim, but after Niha plants a kiss to the top of it, bright blue lights start to turn on allowing it to start to hover on its own. " Ollie can help!" She had taken to calling her gift from the mysterious armored Forger Ollie, or better yet, Ollie the Orb. She reaches up to lightly pat the top of the device, " If we can just clear enough space to let it slip through, Ollie has a bunch of survival equipment that could help tide them over. Like I think he has a water spritzer and he can provide some light. It can scan everybody to give us an idea of how many survivors we're dealing with, and we can maybe um...connect it with your maps so we can guide them to another exit that isn't caved in. Or...at least we could go far enough away that breaking through to the tunnel wouldn't risk hurting them and we can guide them to the new hole after." It was putting a lot of stock in whether or not the drone would be able to sync up with Genesis' technologies he had available, and Niha wouldn't know how to do that herself. She never got to interact with many fancy gizmos in her life between her time in the Other World and her home away from home on New Namek. However, Ollie followed most of Niha's commands with little complaint the more she tried to communicate with it, so she had to hope that it wouldn't be too much for her dear little electronic companion. Niha would produce the drone he had granted her. It would appear that they were going to get the Meathead in spandex to move some rubble, whilst releasing the drone below. Scanning the area for more life signs most likely. It would be capable of emitting a complete map to his armor, but only his armor. Creed took no risks when it came to data transfer. Enhancing the sound quality would grant him a couple pieces of what they were speaking about. After they were done, he would open communication with Rine. “Rine, get me the most recent underground construction plans for this section of the city” After a few moments, a map would fill up the HUD of his mask. The plan was to overlay the map over the collapsed tunnel in hopes of finding any possible nearby exits. It would be best to avoid moving the rubble, lest the entire tunnel collapses. After scanning over the area for a bit, it would seem the destruction wrought during the Accords was just too large in scale for any completely cleared exit to of survived. But it did give him an idea… Creed would slowly lower himself in the air and float over to the group. He crossed his arms before looking down at them. “Listen to the girl. You, Protein shake, lift some of the rubble to let the drone in. I’ve examined some of the construction plans for the tunnelway, towards the North East was a small staircase. I need to know whether the people down there can get to it. The staircase itself will be filled in with rubble, but you can take care of that” Creed would look at Genesis, scanning over him quickly to try and figure out what species he was. “As Niha said previously, this location is too unstable to remove the rubble. That staircase, according to my calculations, should be the most stable location” Creed would tap on his left forearm, causing Ollie to flash green slightly before back to it’s blue color. “I’ve given the drone the Construction map. Take Niha over there so she can help the injured when they finally exit the tunnel” Word Count: 363/838 Genesis Niha

The medic girl pulled out a tiny robot shaped like a spheroid. Genesis listened intently to her explanation of its capabilities and the subsequent ideas on to best use it. He was glad that she had come to offer her aid. Already things were improving. He never regretted asking for assistance when he needed it. If someone relied on only themselves and their selfish pride, it just got in the way of progress.
And in this case, it got in the way of saving lives.
"Ollie is really amazing. I also like your ideas. We should use him to scout ahead for us, and see just what we're up against. Who knows, it could either be better or worse than our assumptions. You know what they say about assumptions?"
He wasn't going to say the phrase, but he hoped that she at least knew it. It made him snicker. Reaching out with his gloved hand, he rested an affectionate palm atop of Ollie.
"Counting on you little guy."
Out of nowhere another person arrived. Genesis didn't expect to have them come floating down from the sky. In fact, this high-tech looking individual caught him off guard completely. That wasn't something easy to do at all. Genesis not only could detect power levels, but he had a keen sense of smell, hearing, and eye-sight. It often surprised his comrades in the SDF and even his parents. It had its downsides, sometimes. But, in most circumstances he knew just how useful it was. Well, in comparison to others who always seemed oblivious to minor details and their surroundings.
Giving the newcomer a once over, he relaxed a little when he realized that this was just a synthetic humanoid. He knew that most people around here called them "androids", but on Indigo Prime that was a bit of a dirty word. It was something you said as an insult, or when looking down on people. The affectionate term used in his culture was "synth".
His people revered artificial intelligence, especially synthetic creatures. They were exonerated. A lot of important roles in society were held by them. Mostly because, they were helpful. They could do things that ordinary organics couldn't dream of, and were super productive. He had garnered a natural trust for them. There were the few sparse cases of corrupt or maligned synths, but those were few and far between. Typically, the more kind and pleasant you were towards them, the more useful they were.
As with most synths, it seemed this one had been programmed to have a unique personality. Not that Gen took offense to being called Protein Shake. Protein was the building block of life. He consumed as much as he could between workouts. It helped him to retain a well toned physique. Eating healthy and doing exercise was never something to be ashamed of.
Apparently the girl and the synth knew each other. He called her Niha. That was perfect. Now Gen had a name to go with the pleasant face.
"I'm going to see with I can do," Gen said. He rolled his shoulders and stretched his arms before the exertion. "But, I need everyone to stand back. Far back!"
He needed to figure where was best to lift. The pile itself was actually layers of a building that collapsed on top of itself as it fell over during the terrorist attack. Studying it with a keen eye, he spotted a bent support pillar poking out of the duracrete a few dozen feet away. That would work, everything would be grafted and held onto that pillar, at least in some shape.
Plus, he could get leverage with it. It was better to lift smart than to be reckless and throw your back out. Especially with entire buildings, like this.
Taking the metal in both hands, he crouched a bit, keeping back straight with a perfect posture.
Breath in.
Breathe out.
Lift.
The rubble pile shifted as he pushed. He barely strained, his face a wall of serious composure. There were creaks, rumbles, and groans from below, but he couldn't stop now. Before the onlookers knew it, half of the building was lifted up above his head. It was only a portion of the full pile, but no doubt there was enough room for Ollie to get in.
Gen froze though, clearly concerned. He didn't know where he could put this giant piece of debris. There wasn't any room in the area. People and rescue vehicles were everywhere. Gritting his teeth, he levitated into the air and carried half of a building with him as he flew over the city-scape.
Not too far away there was glittering bay, sitting along side one of Abbayors many oceans. Once he was far out among the cerulean waves, he let the piece drop as slow and careful as possible. Last thing he needed to do was cause a miniature tsunami.
He watched the bubbles rise from the water for a long moment. Satisfied, he glided back to the scene to see what was going on in his absence.

"H-Heh, yeah...Assumptions." Niha mumbles, kicking another stray pebble out of the way from her feet. She had absolutely no idea what the saying for assumptions was, but she didn't want to seem entirely clueless in front of the man she admired. It didn't take long after that for a familiar sounding voice to reach her ears. " Forger! When'd you get here? Am I glad to see you!" Niha exclaims, floating over to him when he's revealed his presence to them. She opens her mouth to explain the situation to him, but stops when she realizes that Creed is pretty caught up with things as is. Was he eavesdropping on them? No matter, the more hands they had to help the better and he would be able to help her with figuring out how to best utilize Ollie in these circumstances. When he mentions her by name, it does make Niha realize that she forgot to introduce herself when Genesis told her about who he was! " Niha! Yes, that's me. Niha's, my name, I mean. Me. Niha..." She trails off awkwardly after her tongue is tied up from her nerves. The sound of her own name nearly lost all meaning to her from how much she inadvertently repeated it. She must have seemed so stupid at the moment. Quickly trying to find a distraction, she does introduce the pair before her, " Forger, this is Genesis! He's with the Stellar Defense Force. He was helping with the cleanup when one of the workers found out there were people still trapped inside. Genesis, I call this man Forger. He's a really smart fighter, and he made Ollie, so he'll be able to help us!" Now that the introductions were out of the way, there was no way that they wouldn't be able to identify each other. She watches Ollie flash briefly on Creed's command and nods firmly, they had a plan set in motion and they were ready to enact it. Those people would have nothing to worry about and they'd be free before it was time for supper. Niha flies over with the others with Ollie buzzing along at her side, giving Genesis enough space to lift the top of the massive building. " You can do it, Genesis!" Niha calls through cupped hands supportively encouraging him through the monumental task. She breathes out a quiet sound of wonder while watching him tote it off to the secluded safety of the bay, not looking away until he's just a distant dot in the sky. With the space cleared, Niha turns to the drone and points a finger over there, " Ollie, go and fly down there and see what you can find. If you find the people alive, tell us how many there are and if any are in critical condition. Try to take pictures if they are, and if not, then just make sure they have some water." The drone bobs in the air processing the request for a few moments before it zooms down through the cramped space and into the tunnel. It would zigzag carefully avoiding obstacles and maneuvering with the help of the map Creed provided for it, only stopping to shine a blue grid as it scanned for the organic life that it sought in the darkness. Niha twists her fingers in her hands, watching and waiting for a sign of the drone's success. It was stress-inducing being limited to the sidelines like this. " Do you think that Ollie and the survivors down there will be okay?" She asks Creed. Surely if anyone would know the answer to that question, it would be him. He could access the drone on a deeper level than she could, and its findings would be able to be fed into his HUD's easily to keep him up to date on the situations. In fact, Creed would eventually receive an alert when Ollie found the trapped people. The moment that Ollie's scanners stumbled across the heat signatures and vital signs of living people, it would try to run diagnostics on them before buzzing close to take pictures of them. With their numbers and identities recorded, a hatch would open on Ollie to reveal a small nozzle that would spray fresh water for the survivors to drink. Niha looks down at Creed's arm and asks him, " Any word yet? It shouldn't have taken him that long to find them, right?" WC: 735 | Total WC: 2,230 Genesis Andrew C. Creed

Stellar Defense Force? It sounded as if this "Genesis" originated from a comic book. Even his name was reminiscent of some lame Golden era Boy Scout. Creed sighed and shook his head as Spandex hoisted the entire building up. It would of made more sense, not to mention much easier, to cut the building into layers and transport them one by one. Then again, the fool probably lacked enough brain cells to formulate such a plan. Creed pulled up a holographic image over his forearm, providing real time footage of the underground area. The bot would begin scanning over the twenty or so people trapped below. Nine males, Eleven females, about four of which were children. No major injuries aside from malnutrition and dehydration. Good, it seemed the Train’s safety systems kicked in quick enough to keep them protected. Creed looked up from his arm as Niha questioned him. “The Drone will be fine. I designed them to be nigh indestructible. As for the people, I detect no exterior injuries. They are starving and dehydrated. So long as my plan works, which it will, they will be good. Assuming none of them have any internal injuries that is” Ollie would continue through the tunnel after providing the victims with enough water to last seven hours or so. Eventually, it would reach the stairwell. As expected it was completely packed in with debris. No obstacles which would hinder the civilians from reaching the area. After about 10 minutes, Ollie would return back to the surface. “All we have to do is clear the staircase and guide the civilians” Ollie would fly over to Creed and beep slightly before returning back to Niha and opening a newly edited map of the area. The information he downloaded would serve him well whilst scouting the area after this ordeal was over. If one group of civilians was trapped, it’s not too far fetched to assume another group could be. “The flashing point is where the civilians will be led to. Tell the Muscle head where to go when he gets back and tell him to clear the area. It will be stable enough to remove the majority of the rubble. Make sure to go with him to help any of the civilians if needed” Ollie would then fly back through the hole and begin glowing. “The Drone will lead the civilians to the staircase. I’ve sent a recorded message down with it” Word Count: 408/1220 Niha Genesis

On his flight back to the Ruins of the Peace Plaza, Gen couldn't help but crack a smile. People were gathering now around the heaps of rubble and in the balconies of nearby buildings. During the fighting most of the glass had been blown out of these structures. Everyone was hard at work fixing windows and patching up various other scars and damages. It was a concerted effort. Abbayor was a huge planet too, most of it clustered and filled with big cities like this one. It was unique though, the way the citizens were all unified. On Indigo Prime there had been dozens of cities large and small that were settled, each one had a name and a separate culture. Abbayor was so interconnected that people didn't even think of these different metropolitan areas as separate cities. It was all like a huge conglomerate.
Word spread fast that survivors from the attacks had been found. They no doubt wanted to see the extraction for them self. It was dramatic. The attention would be good. Just as he was over the area, he saw his first camera drones arriving on scene. The little bots were training their crimson lens upon the action. Having the publicity would help him out. One of his goals was to get his name out there, to be like Emperor Polaris--someone the people trusted and cared deeply for.
Gen wanted to be an example, something to strive to be. He also wanted his people to hear about him and help him return home.
He glided down and landed beside Niha, barely stirring a mote of dust.
"Well, that's taken care of for now," Gensis said. "So how's Ollie doing down there?"
His question was answered shortly by the synth, who must have had some sort of up-link with the tiny orb. The little machine returned after a few minutes and Gen was given another task to perform. He had to clear a stairwell. Sounded easy enough, but he was hesitant to let himself think it would be. Things were seldom easy as they seemed at first glance in life.
Gen checked his map, which had been updated to the current status thanks to their synth friend. He squinted at it and levitated once again, waiting for Niha to follow him. Their flight led them clear across the plaza to an area that had once been an embassy for the Galactic Patrol and later the Empire. In fact, the tattered flag of the Empire still clung to its pole, flapping gently in the breeze.
The rest of the building had been obliterated and slumped sideways against the metro exit. That explained the blockage. Gen landed in full stride and walked up. People in this area started to converge, to see what the rescuers would do next.
"Niha, I'm going to see about opening clearing some of this so they can get out. Will you make sure no one gets the way? This will be quite dangerous."
This wasn't just something he could pick up and move like the last pile. The rubble here was too lose and too densely packed. He scratched the side of his head as he thought about it for a minute or so.
If I strike center mass with a shock wave of ki, I can probably disintegrate most of the rubble. I just have to be careful, an inch to the right and there's a good chance I'll level the metro exit as well. Can't have that happening.
Stepping up, he lowered into a crouch and swung his arm behind him.
"Here goes nothing."
Throoooom!
The punch he threw sent a narrow undulating burst of ki at the broken embassy. It hit like a bomb going off. The shearing force crushed the duracrete and other debris into thousands of fragments, which were compressed and splintered into tiny specks of dust. The dust then rolled away, revealing a perfect gouge in the ruins. Still, plenty of rubble had fallen inside of the metro tunnel's staircase. Most of it seemed to be loose brick from the edifice of the embassy.
That would have to be cleared by hand. There was no way using his powers to do it here would do anything but collapse or damage the metro entrance and compromise the extraction.
He turned to ask Niha for help and then saw dozens of the onlookers stepping forward. They walked past him and into the gouge. There they formed up lines and started to hand each other bricks, clearing it bit by bit.
"Amazing," he muttered.
It was good to see the citizens of Abbayor inspired to help some of their own. It wouldn't be long now until rest of the blockage was cleared and the survivors could emerge.
Gen threw his hand up to give Niha a high five and said, "If you need my help with the medical attention let me know. I do know a little first aid from my SDF training."
Regardless, it would be her moment to shine once they were home free.

Niha's eyes trail after one of the rogue drones hovering in the air nearby. It didn't have the same green glow as one of Creed's did and it appeared that it had some sort of lens. She blinks rapidly when she realizes that there are cameras flying around recording what was transpiring, and she swiftly tugs the hood of her robes over her head to hide her face. Niha had enemies out there that she still had to hide from. If the wrong person caught sight of her on Abbayor, the people on the planet might have to deal with more hardships than they bargained for. She didn't want her presence to spell out another planet's doom for a long time. " I might have some food to spare with the water Ollie has, but it's good there are not any open wounds...They should take eating and drinking slowly anyway so we don't shock their systems." This information meant that they did have some time on their side to work in. Nobody was going to fall over or bleed out in the span of minutes. The fact that there may be internal injuries at play was enough reason to not celebrate just yet, though. Niha does start to relax after Creed's reassurances and looks up to offer Genesis a warm smile. " You did great, Genesis! Ollie could get in with no trouble." She's just about to get him up to date on the situation when Creed does the job for her. He would be much better at explaining things to him than she would in her current state. Just looking up at Genesis' dreamy eyes made her want to swim in their pools of gentle blue and never surface from the swaddled embrace of comfort they offered. It made focusing on conversations with him particularly challenging. When the drone starts to hover its way back to the surface, Niha bounces in place and claps her hands together encouragingly. " You did it, Ollie!" She reaches out to softly pat the drone to offer some positive reinforcement to the machine. Niha didn't care if it was just some hunk of metal that couldn't respond to the emotional stimuli, it wouldn't stop her from doting on it all the same. She leans in to inspect the map provided closer letting her finger hover over the flashing point that Creed points out. " You mean right there, right? Okay, that sounds easy enough. We can do that." She watches Genesis fly ahead of her, drifting up to hover in the air before she pauses to look over her shoulder. " You should um...really try to be nicer to Genesis and stop calling him names...he's very nice and sweet. You two could probably get along if you tried to..." Niha mumbles nervously under her breath, her voice soft as a whisper and potentially going unheard if it weren't for the likelihood of Creed's enhanced hearing in his armored suit. She didn't like seeing the potential bullying in front of her, but she cared for Forger too and wanted to remember that he might not be meaning to come across as mean as it sounded. She's quick to fly off and retreat after that to catch up with Genesis, her face a bright myriad of warm colors from the flush creeping in. Niha lands nearby Genesis and looks up to inspect what remains of the Empire's flags. What represented the ideal's of people united together under something wasn't much more than symbols on fabric to Niha at the moment. It's only when she looks away from the tattered shreds that she notices that the people of the city had followed them to see what they were up to. Had they always been there, watching them? She timidly lifts her hand to wave at them, before nodding once up at Genesis to show she's heard his instructions. " Okay, you got it! I'll make sure that they keep their distance." She flies over and holds her hands out to the people, floating around and changing her position to constantly keep track of people potentially stepping over the imaginary boundary she had in mind. She raises her voice to make sure that everyone can hear her addressing them, " Everyone, please remain calm and step back for me. Debris could fly off the wreckage while we're breaking it up to clear the passage and we want to make sure that everyone is out of the line of fire!" It was tiresome work, but she managed to keep the crowd pushed back so that Genesis could work in peace. The sound of the rubble shattering apart makes Niha flinch and she throws her arms out to act as a shield for some of the citizens while the pebbles fell from overhead. Her body twists around when the aftermath settles and looks on it with wide eyes. She tilts her head down to watch the citizens join in clearing the rest of the tunnel, abandoning her efforts to keep them away. " Wait, I..." Niha starts to murmur, glancing over to Genesis to silently plead for help. He didn't seem to mind that they weren't staying back now, so she lets it go and allows them to pass by. She flies over to finish helping the people with the last of the rubble and returns Genesis' high-five with a giggling laugh. " We did it! And don't worry, I will! But it should be easy enough." She wastes no time getting into the tunnel and hovering over every survivor to inspect them. There were some knots, bruises, and small cuts but Creed's assessment of the crowd's condition was impeccable and everyone seemed fine on the surface. She holds her hands out over the worst of the superficial injuries and closes her eyes, letting a soft glow emanate from them that shines brightly in the darkness of the tunnel. The purple lumps and bumps fade away along with the pain lingering on the flesh and flatten out one by one with the help of her divine Ki. It took a lot of effort, but she could tell that she was improving thanks to her people's teachings and the mystical lessons she had learned from the Namekians on her time in New Namek. She had a much more secure grasp on controlling her Ki when it came to healing these people than she did when she tried to harness it to attack others. This felt like it came naturally to her, like it was something she had done a hundred times before. The girl breathes out a tired sigh after she's finished and passes out what little rations she travels with to the children before guiding the rest of the crowd out into the light of day. " Everyone's going to be just fine!" She calls out to the others, before urging them along to return to their friends and loved ones. WC: 1,152 | Total WC: 3,382 Genesis Andrew C. Creed

Creed’s emerald glare fell upon Niha as she asked him to stop insulting the lunk. He would stare her down for a bit before returning to his forearm. After a few minutes of tapping, he would state “Fine” before lowering his arm. One of his drones would fly out from underneath his cloak and float towards Genesis. As it edged closer, a fairly loud robotic voice would begin to emit towards Genesis. “GOOD JOB MUSCLE HEAD” “I DIDN’T KNOW MUSCLE HEADS COULD UNDERSTAND BASIC MEDICAL PRACTICES” “ARE YOU GOING TO USE YOUR SPARE SPANDEX AS A TOURNIQUET?” Etc, etc. He had pre-programmed around eighty four insults and insults cloaked in compliments. Creed was amazing at quickly formulating insults, as well as programming. In the span of Niha asking him to stop, he made sure to program as many as he could for when Spandex managed to finish his job. Technically he wasn’t insulting him, the drone was. Loopholes and such. Creed would float over the group of people and give a quick scan over them all. He trusted Niha’s medical knowledge, but there were some injuries that just couldn’t be seen with the naked eye. Overall everyone seemed to be healthy, aside of course from the malnutrition and dehydration. Though a few of the older people did seem to have irregular heartbeats, perhaps a heart disorder. “Rine, make sure this data gets sent to the proper medical centers. I don’t want any risks. And wipe that grin off your face” “I’m not grinning!” “Yes, you are. I’m doing this for my image, nothing else. If I’m going to do something, I want to do it right” “Whatever you say, Forger” “Don’t call me that. The only reason she’s allowed to is because of that spar” “Technically I was a part of it too!” Creed rubbed his shoulder. “I know, don’t remind me” Creed’s attention would turn to Genesis and Niha, the Drone still shouting out it’s insults. It was on about 12 at this point. His gaze would fall specifically on Genesis. Though he did hassle the man, he was necessary for this plan to work. He would cross his arms. “Disengage” “ONE MORE THING BEFORE THIS UNIT DISENGAGES. YOU DID ADEQUATE AND YOUR COOPERATION HAS BEEN DULY NOTED. HAVE A NICE DAY” “If we are done patting each other on the back, I believe there is still plenty of rubble to be removed” Word Count: 405/1593 Niha Genesis

Gen gawked at Niha. He had never seen someone use ki to heal before. In fact, he had no idea it was possible. The only methods he had been taught to use it enhanced his physical person. It made him countless time stronger than the average person, faster, and tough as katchin. Looming behind her as she tended to an elderly woman he couldn't help but chuckle. "Niha you are amazing. I never imagined that such a thing was possible. Healing people. You could do so much good with a power like that."Both of his brows furrowed and he looked sullen if only for a second. "I mean, being able to use your power to fight people and break stuff has it's uses, but I don't know."Genesis desired more than anything to help people. But, there were too many people who need help and not enough time during the day. During his early cadet days in the Stellar Defense force, he had learned the hard way not to spread himself thin. Back then he had unrealistic ambitions. He ran himself ragged just trying to do everything he could. It still broke his heart to this day that he wasn't capable of doing more. He would need to be omnipotent or something to truly do enough to make himself feel better. Still, he did what he could. Most of all, he tried to focus on doing good where it would have the most impact. Prioritizing something like that was a constant challenge and it could leave a bitter taste on the tongue. But, it was necessary. As Gen was giving a small xeno child with a head of tentacles a piggy back ride, to cheer him, up a small drone approached him and started blurting out compliments. Well, kind of. They were more sarcastic statements. If anything, he was more resilient to insults than he was to attacks. There were things that got him mad, but that usually had to do with other people being treated poorly. Gen himself just smirked and laughed. "If you study hard and give it your best effort, you can learn anything. First aid was super important because I have to make sure my squad mates make it home to their families." At this point he was more talking to the kid than the drone, who he figured could careless. It didn't take long after for the Abbayor Security Forces and several Imperial Patrolmen to arrive in force. They cordoned off the area, got all the civilians and work crews out of the way. Floating ambulances and med-bots descended upon the scene. At this point the first responders were doing little more than double checking Niha's excellent work, for which they had little extra to do. Gen had gone all morning without breakfast. The synth mentioned something about there being more cleaning up to do. He wasn't wrong. "You guys feel like grabbing some grub? I know I'm famished."Before either could respond, an Imperial Patrolmen approached to the trio. He was a short alien with a bald gray head and buggy silver eyes. The chevrons on his skin-tight blue uniform were an indication of rank, a Sergeant. "We really appreciate your efforts here. Looks like these folks are going to be just fine, after they spend a couple days in the hospital recovering from dehydration. You guys are true heroes. On behalf of the First Galactic Empire and Abbayor, I thank you." He leaned in, his voice quieter. "You three ever think abou joining the Imperial Patrol?" Gen chuckled. "The Imperial Patrol are a huge inspiration, especially Emperor Polaris. I heard about his feats all the way on my home-world, which mind you is in the on ht edge of galactic nowhere."It was tempting, maybe a dream come true when he was younger. Still Gen couldn't take the offer. He had his allegiance already. With a smirk across his lips, he pointed to the emblem on his chest with his thumb. "No can do. I'm with the Stellar Defense Force. My home-world is seeking to be allies and members of the Empire, so you will always have my support."The officer shrugged, swiveling his bulging eye-sockets towards to Niha and then to the synth. "How about you two? We're looking for all the able bodied and talented folks we can find these days."

Niha's purple-hued eyes stealthily glance over at Genesis whenever she notices him looking her way. It makes her face burn brighter with color and she's quick to drop her gaze back down to focus on her work until she's finished. She wasn't sure why he was looking at her like that. Was she doing something wrong? Did he want to say something to her? Genesis' compliment practically leaves her frozen where she sits, her breathing stopped but her heartbeat deafening her head with a throb that reminded her of the beat of a drum. It lasts long enough that the elderly woman reaches out a withered hand to softly poke Niha to make sure she was still conscious. The small girl sways weakly enough to nearly slump backward before she jolts up alertly. " O-Oh, I'm sorry ma'am. We're just about done here. You're doing great." She quickly apologizes, gathering her Ki again to finish healing her. Niha mumbles to Genesis, " Thank you, that's sort of my dream. To be able to help people with it and spread a little happiness to the less fortunate. But it's nothing that exciting. It isn't like moving buildings or anything, like what you do...you might even be able to learn to do it too if you wanted to. I wouldn't...m-mind...t-t-t..." She locks up on her words and laughs breathlessly on the end of a long exhale, " Trying to t-teach you." When she can stand up, Niha finds somewhere to stand off to the side to avoid the crowds, letting Genesis play with the children to cheer them and their guardians up. She smiles, sighing wistfully and clasping her hands together in front of her. It was a welcomed sight. Joy and mirth blooming amongst the wreckage to grow into a hope for a better tomorrow. Her smile momentarily grows when she notices one of Creed's drones stopping by to visit Genesis. He could be trying to make friends with Genesis just as she suggested! That's about when the first string of compliment laced insults starts to be recited. Niha frowns, her nostrils flaring with a small huff, but she gradually relaxes when she sees how well Genesis handles it. The man even spins it to encourage the youth to focus on their education. He didn't seem to need Niha to stand up for him after all. Besides, she had to admit, it wasn't Creed saying it to his face and that was a step in a certain direction. These things didn't happen overnight and she just had to take what victories she could get. When Creed does join them, Niha flies over to him to survey what structural damage could still be addressed in the area, "Yeah, I guess there is. I can help with that. Which piles do you think we should work on first? With all the people here now, maybe we'll be able to get it done faster." She was happy to let Creed continue to direct them since he did such a good job leading them so far. Genesis' suggestion of food spurs some quiet gurgles from Niha's belly, and she glances between the pair before side-stepping closer to Genesis. She couldn't quite remember what she started the day off with, and it was likely that she just skipped breakfast entirely to be able to get to Abbayor sooner. " Yeah, can we all get some food first, Forger? I'm hungry too. I can cover it for you guys if you want. Can be my treat." She tilts her head down, waiting expectantly for a no or maybe later. Niha didn't want to be a slacker or disappoint Creed, but she needed food. She felt so light-headed earlier that she was moments away from passing out, and even though that may have been from Genesis' praise, a lack of something on her stomach was probably a contributor too. She hides behind the pair when they're approached, peeking up at the Patrolman from around them. "I'm sorry, but I don't really know much about the Empire or the Imperial patrol, I'm not really from around here..." Niha answers, shaking her head to politely decline their offer " I'll be happy to help your people when I can in situations like this, but I don't think it's a great idea to enlist in something that I don't anything about." Creed sneered underneath his mask at the mention of joining the Imperial Patrol. Those pathetic weaklings who couldn’t even manage to stop a single terrorist attack, let alone the hundreds which had already transpired? The people who were oh so mighty, but touted Saiyan genocide? The ones who were weak enough to surrender to said monkeys in this Peace Meeting, only for their Emperor to be slaughtered like a cattle? The Dominion was a government of savage primates with a boner for murder, but at least they could get things done. It wouldn’t matter anyways, he doesn’t work for customers. He looked down at the small man, eyes a bit brighter than normal. “Patricians do not work for Plebians. I would suggest not insulting me with such an offer” Now was the matter of getting food. Were these two really so weak that they couldn’t handle work on an empty- growl… Creed sighed and crossed his arms, turning his attention to Genesis and Niha. “Fine, we can stop for a meal. But I’ll be purchasing my own, I don’t allow debts” Creed didn’t really care much for where they ate, food was food, so he’d let the two decide whilst looking over the information he had gathered. While the damages were very far reaching, it would seem they were contained within a general area. It was no perfect circle by any means, but it would at least give them a range to work with. None of the other trains seemed to be running through this area… A bit strange, but expected given the danger of an area with some of the most powerful beings in the galaxy. Perhaps there was just a scheduling mistake with this one. Even so… “Rine, run a background check on those passengers. Also, get me the destination of the train, if possible” “Going out to eat with friends I see?” “They aren’t friends. I need to eat in order to remain effective” “Mhm. You know you could probably buy the entire restaurant you’re going to without denting your pocket change, right?” “It would be too suspicious to pay for them” “Maybe it’s time you started to trust someone other than me and Army” “His name is Armageddon” “And that sounds like something a five year old would come up with, so I’m calling him Army!” Creed sighed, a new headache beginning to slowly form. He might, MIGHT consider Niha knowing. She seems trustworthy enough. But Genesis? The Lunk would probably blurt it out in a random conversation. Not that anyone would believe him. Still, Creed had enemies and rumors are still a dangerous thing... Word Count: 405/2025 Niha Genesis

It appeared the Imperial Patrol Sergeant was used to being turned down. He didn't even bat an eye at the three rejections. Instead his face morphed into a well trained charismatic smile and he threw up a thumbs up. "Well, thanks for your help anyway folks." Gen was surprised that neither Niha or Forger (as she called him) wanted to join up with the Patrol. In his eyes, it was a huge privilege to even be asked. Even before the rise of the Empire, being a Galactic Patrolmen was dedicating one's life to protecting and defending the galaxy. In many ways, the Stellar Defense Force was inspired by them, except way more structured and militaristic. Regardless, he was glad that Forger agreed to get lunch too. He and Niha knew each other, which would make the whole thing less awkward. Gen had never eaten lunch one on one with a girl before. They would need to travel a bit to reach a place that was open for business. Most of the businesses surrounding the Peace Plaza had been either destroyed, evacuated, or were closed for repairs. They had decided to take their leave just in time too, as the media presence surrounding the scene had quadrupled. Camera bots swarmed overhead. Several of them stopped to fixate, zooming to capture images of the heroic trio. A few dozen reporters had arrived on scene too, flashing their media badges to the authorities. Gen even saw a hover-cruiser from Galaxy News descend, the iconic logo splashed across the side. Their presence him freeze in his tracks. He gawked at a young blonde haired human stepping out and adjusting her outfit. Shortly after, she began conversing with humanoid camera bot. Gen guessed they were discussing where to set up their broadcast. Gen had his eyes on Galaxy News as a place to work, once he assumed his civilian disguise. No doubt he would be on Abbayor awhile. Since none of the databanks in the Empire or even outside civilizations had a map to Indigo Prime, he was marooned. It would take a deep space expedition to find his way back. Also, because there were no Hypernet beacons in Indigo prime's sectors, news and information trickled in at a snail's pace. On the ship ride back to Abbayor, he had done the math. He fully expected it to be at least five or six months, before his people learned about him. That was a generous calculation at that. No doubt it could take longer. It had been almost a half a year after Polaris took the mantle as Emperor before the details leaked through. Even if Gen wanted to talk to the woman and learn more, it wouldn't do him any good. He didn't want to get a job as Genesis. Attempting something like that would attract all the wrong attention to him. He did want people to learn about Gen, see him as a beacon of hope and a hero--but he didn't want that attention on him all the time. If he could slip into a disguise and hide his power level, he could have respite away from the trials and tribulations of action. Also, by blending in and being one of the people as Riley Slate, he would be able to learn more. If he wanted to understand the true issues the galaxy faced and figure out the most fundamental ways to help fix them, he had to see things from the average person's perspective. Having great power changed the world for you. It also changed how people interacted with you. He wanted to be able to get to know people as they were. People were likely to fear or even seek Gen's attention for the wrong reasons. But, Riley Slate, a simple human reporter? Well, he wouldn't a threat at all, unless you didn't like being asked questions. Realizing how distracted he was, he snapped back to reality and swiveled to Forger and Niha. "There's a seaport district not far from here. When I took that hunk of building out to sea, I saw a bunch of street food vendors, along with places to sit and eat. We could always go over there? That way there's enough variety for us to pick whatever we want."Without warning, Gen levitated into the air and glided off--passing between the glittering spires and over the sprawling web of streets and structures. Once he found the spot again, tucked against a beachhead boardwalk, he touched down. The aroma of cooking meats and vegetables hit him like a sack filled with bricks. He hadn't eaten since dinner the night before. Almost immediately, his stomach loosed a horrendous growl. He waited for his new friends to catch up before canvassing the stands. Some of the foods on display were truly otherworldly. The people of Indigo Prime had a very tamed pallet, their food being more practical than exotic. That didn't stop him from wanting to see what other cultures ate, even if it was out of his comfort zone. The sizzling aroma of spices and herbs enticed him. He walked up to several stands, lowering himself to gaze at awe at whatever was being grilled, fried, or laid out to rest. "Fried and stuffed scale worm with a side of diced salted kelp rinds," he whispered, leaning towards Niha. "Does that sound good to you?"

Niha pouts when the Imperial Sergeant accepts their refusal so calmly and warmly. She felt bad having to do it, and this only made that feeling worse! She just wanted to blurt out that she changed her mind just in hopes that it might lift his spirits! Alas, Niha made her decision and she really wanted to stick to it. She didn't want to have to tie herself down with an unknown allegiance just to make someone she didn't know a little happier in that exact moment. scratched the top of her head and looks perplexed by the way Creed turns down the man's offer, so she floats up to gently tap him on the shoulder. She cups her hand to shield her lips from the Imperial Patrol recruiters, so she can whisper discretely to Creed, " Forger, what does patrician mean? Oh and um...what does plebians mean too?" The first one sounded like some sort of body of government for patriots, but the second word sounded like some Xeno species that she had never heard of before. If she had to guess, those patrolmen could have been Xeno's. All the same, she squeals in excitement after Creed approves the side stop for food, lifting herself up to do an arching backflip through the air. Niha lays flat like a board and looks at Creed upside down, presenting some logic to him, " Aw...but in a way, you wouldn't be in debt to me if I paid for it for you. I mean, you paid for my hospital bill on Tech Tech, right? And I'm pretty sure I never paid you back for that. And you gave me Ollie as a present." She cranes her head to spot the drone hovering over the trio, reaching out to coax it down so she could cradle it in her arms like a small and precious creature. She brushes her hand over the top of it while it powers down to standby to conserve some of its energy, "...So, in a way, I'd be repaying a debt I was in to you and we'd both be back on a clean slate!" She didn't want her friend to have to worry about owing her anything. There were countless people that she's met across the galaxy that probably owed her something. Whether it was for food or people in need that she went out of her way to help, Niha almost instantly forgot these debts and continued on with her life. Niha starts to get more nervous and antsy the more media starts to swarm in around them. She wanted to get out of there immediately. Recognition and fame was not the reason she went out of her way to help Genesis, Creed, and the people trapped in that train nor was it because of her infatuation with the strong man. It was because it was the right thing to do in her eyes. She tugs her hood down harder to make it more difficult for the camera drones to take her picture. Genesis would barely have enough time to get his suggestion out before Niha blurts out, " That sounds great, I love fish! Let's go. Now." She leans into the flight and hones more Ki through her feet to bolt behind Genesis to the safety of the seaport district. She was not unaccustomed to seafood since part of the Earthling's diet on New Namek had a lot of aquatic species from the lakes, rivers, and oceans to feed the tourists the planet's natural bounty. The further away from the cameras and reporters they get, the more at ease Niha is. She inhales the intoxicating aroma that drifts up from the stalls below and twists in a casual barrel roll as she hums in delight under her breath. " Ohh, this all smells absolutely incredible! I don't know if I'm going to be able to pick just one! I might have to get a little bit from them all!" She knew in her heart that she was only exaggerating, even if it sounded like a good idea in theory. Even if she didn't normally spend her money on many material things helping her to save what she earned from odd jobs here and there, she had no fortunes that she could waste away on big purchases like that. The girl lands beside of Genesis and stands on her tiptoes to peek at the food as it's prepared. Initially, the word worm makes her scrunch her nose up. The smells coming from this stall were still as good as what she smelled before, so maybe it would be better than it sounded. Besides, she tried seaweed at New Namek before and that wasn't so bad. It could help compensate if the fish was as gross as Niha initially thought. Didn't help that Niha kind of wanted to impress Genesis with how open-minded she could be too. " I've heard that bugs are um...good sources of protein." She decides up to Genesis, " And I always try to make an effort to pick things I've never had before. If you're brave enough to try it, then count me in too!" She waves her hand over the counter to get the cook's attention, " Hello there! Um, two fried and stuffed scale worms with the sides of kelp rinds and whatever my friend Forger is going to have too!" She reaches into the pocket of her dress to fish out a cartoon-decorated coin purse. It has the drawing of a chubby puffer fish with wide-sparkling eyes and a smile to complete its almost puppy-like face. She unclicks it and counts out the zeni she'd need to cover her and Genesis' orders to start with. She still wasn't sure if Creed would allow her to cover his share, but she would be prepared if he did! WC: 971 | Total WC: 5,078 Genesis Andrew C. Creed

Creed looked down at the small child. Or at least he assumed she was a child, at this point he was starting to doubt it. There were plenty of Xenos which aged slower than others, perhaps these Shinjins were similar. In anycase, it wasn’t surprising that she lacked the knowledge on the subject. It was a human term. More specifically an Earth term. “They are terms originating from an ancient human civilization. Plebeians were lower class, whilst Patricians ruled over them” Gave a smug laugh. “And I certainly rule over them...” Creed simply looked at the girl as she backflipped in the air. They were just going to get food, there was no reason to act so happy about it… Then she started talking about debts. Quite amusing actually, her assuming that a hospital bill and a single Drone was worth anything to Creed. He could of bought the entire hospital and barely dent his yearly income. The benefits of having an entire planets economy in one's pocket. “Let me put it plainly, Niha. There is no conceivable way you could ever become indebted to me, because if you ever were, you would need to sell your very soul in order to pay it back” Creed looked down at the various foods laid out on the cart. It reminded him of his vacation on Konats with Rine. He wanted to explore some of the ancient ruins which dotted the landscape, perhaps finding some sort of priceless artifact. He found that Street Vendors tended to make the best foods. Restaurants for the rich were just that, for the rich. Their food quality didn’t matter. Rich pigs would pay it all the same. But Vendors actually had to work to get people to enjoy their food, hard work was something Creed could respect. After peering down at the selection for a bit, before finally settling on something. “I’ll take the Fried Scale Worm as well. No kelp” As Niha began digging through her purse and counting her Zeni, Creed couldn’t help but feel a bit bad. Rine was right, paying for a few people’s meal wouldn’t cause too much suspicion. But there was always that nagging voice in the back of his mind, telling him not to trust them. To Creed’s paranoid mind, everyone seemed to scheme and plot through everything, just like him. Perhaps it was time to finally practice being somewhat trusting for once… Creed would press on the side of his thigh, causing a small panel to open up. Thousands of Zeni would begin to file out into his open hand. After a few seconds, Creed would set the Zeni on the cart. “Keep the change. I'm going find somewhere to eat, I’d prefer not being out in the open” After getting his food, Creed would float into the air and scan around, looking for a secure location. There was a fairly secluded rooftop not too far away. Creed would begin to fly over there, whether the two followed him or not. Once reaching the rooftop, Creed would reach onto the side of his helmet and tap a few buttons, being careful to keep his hood up. Various gases which were used to simulate a Biodome atmosphere would escape out as the mask popped off. If any of the two tried looking at his face, they would see nothing but darkness and a singular glowing Green right eye. Creed had taken special care to design the cloak in such a way that it would shadow his face if his mask was ever removed. The green eye was a fake, he needed one after his fight with that Speedster earthling. When he activated the self destruct for the core, some of the light managed to escape through, rendering his right eye completely useless. Creed started to eat the Scale Worm, not paying much attention to whether the others had followed him or not. Word Count: 633/2226 Niha Genesis

None of the things that Forger said had irked or even gotten a raise out of Gen. But, the one thing that did bother him was the fact that he didn't let Niha pay for his lunch. To Gen that was beyond rude. The young xeno girl clearly wanted to do something nice. In fact, she seemed very excited about the gesture. Genesis understood male pride, to a degree. Letting a girl pay for you was a bit out of the ordinary. But, the solution was simple. You just buy her lunch at a later date as a way to pay the gesture back. Genesis already had plans to do that. Especially after he lined up a job. He would take her to somewhere really nice and they would feast like kings. His eyes went wide with surprise when the vendor handed him his steaming plate of fried and stuffed scale worm. The portion was enormous, far beyond any expectation he had. It was a bulbous flank of meat, rolled around some kind of dense vegetable medley. The outside of the meat was charred to perfection and the spicy and savory aroma danced into his nostrils, making his stomach rumble in anticipation. Even the dice salted kelp rinds looked scrumptious They were dark green crispy fried rings in a basket, which the cook salted before handing them off. "Niha, this food looks wondeful. Thank you so very much. I'll have to take you out to lunch sometime in the future!"Forger, after getting his meal, flew off. Genesis had planned to eat at one of the many tables by the beach, but it seemed rude to abandon the man that had just helped them. Even if he was a bit of a jerk for rejecting Niha's offer. He glanced down at his new sharp eared female friend and shrugged, levitating into the air. A few bystanders who were gathered nearby looked up baffled at the flying people. He cruised along behind Forger and plopped down a few feet away from him at the edge of the rooftop, plopping his plate onto his lap. He rested his drink and kelp rinds on the lip of the roof next to him. A gentle sea-breeze accompanied their meal, a welcomed reprieve under the warm rays of Abbayor's distant white star. Sea birds screeched and cawed as they wheeled overhead. They were exotic creatures, at least compared to the mundane brown sea-birds from his home planet. These creatures were white with bright yellow stripes and green tufts of feathers rising in a ridge from the middle of their heads. Also, as he looked closer they didn't have beaks, rather long snouts with rows of sharp looking teeth. Once Niha was settled in, Gen set to eat, both brows furrowing. He was clearly examining the scale worm, looking for the best way to conquer crispy hunk. There didn't seem to be an easy way, so he simply picked it up and tore into it with his mouth, squirting hot juices all down the front of his uniform. He grunted as he chewed, his tongue hit with a barrage of flavors all at once. The meat had the texture of a melon alone with a light flavor that was reminiscent of pork. The meat was very strange like this, but tastier than he ever imagined it to be. The stuffing in middle complimented it well, bouncing along his pallet to an aromatic symphony. There was crispy breading tangled in there it too, whisking him away to his mom's home cooking. The vegetables weren't dense either--rather soft and amiable, like a warm hug. After he swallowed his first bite he grinned ear to ear. "Oh man, I do not regret getting this what-so-ever. Wow!"He plucked a napkin from the side of his plate and used it to dab the mess from the front of his uniform and the scraps around his mouth. And then he took a couple kelp rinds and chomped down on them. They were sweet and salty at the same time, a surprise that he didn't expect. They didn't taste like kelp at all. He had expected a briny sea-inspired flavor. Rather, this reminded him more of eating chocolate covered pretzels. "You gotta try one of these Niha," Gen said, holding a rind up, before crunching into it. Voice muffled by chewing, he then said, "I can't believe that they're sweet."Glancing past the girl, he considered the stoic Forger. The man had a shadowed face an single piercing green eye beneath his stoic mask. Genesis then realized that Forger wasn't just an android, but that there was a flesh and bone man somewhere in that armor and prosthesthics. It made him sad for a moment. Just what had happened to him that he needed so much augmentation? A good question--but maybe for a different time. Their celebratory lunch seemed seldom the moment to pry into a potentially touchy subject like that. "--'Ey what do you think Forger? Ever had anything to eat like this before?"

" But...what would anyone even do with a soul? That doesn't seem like a very smart thing to buy or sell..." Niha asks Creed, sounding confused and not seeming to realize that it was mostly just a colloquial phrase. She was lucky enough to come from a land where she could stop by and visit the very place where lost souls lined up for their final judgment. Though a soul defined someone's very being, Niha couldn't think of any tangible uses for it besides being sort of a marker for whether you went to Heaven or Hell. Maybe it was because she stayed far away from the darker side of the occult that could draw power from such sources. She would have just shrugged off the thought and let her attention return to far more important matters, filling her and her friends' empty stomachs. The small girl had just finished pulling out the change she needed and was about to pass it off to the vendor when Creed throws some Zeni at him instead. Her eyes narrow up at him, but her stern expression cracks through to a big playful grin. She puts the Zeni back and pockets her coin purse without any protest or arguments. After all, he must have really liked her and Genesis to be willing to go out of his way for them like that! She looks at Genesis, nodding once before she flies after Creed to catch up with him and sit at the place he'd chosen. It did have a really nice view of the planet's distant buildings and local scenery, so Niha didn't mind much. " Thank you, Forger! But...you do know that I'm going to keep trying to repay the favor next time. I hope your schedule is clear in a week or two!!" At this rate, it was going to become her life's mission to repay the armored man for his kindness. She leans forward, trying to not so subtly see what's under the shadow of Creed's hood. It just occurred to her that she never really got to know what might be under the helmet he wears. It might not even be a helmet at all, and for all she knew, she could have befriended one of those sentient androids that she had heard so much about. Alas, Niha couldn't make out heads or tails about where his food disappeared off to in the dark abyss. Just that single green glowing eye that shined through constantly. She bolts back upright when Genesis compliments her choice of food, looking like she had just gotten caught with her hand in the cookie jar. " O-Oh, it's no problem! It's the least I could do! You've been so kind to show us around and spend time with us. And we might not have been able to help all those people if it wasn't for you. Everyone worked so hard, we could all use a little treat after that." She assures Genesis, " But if you'd like to do this again sometime, I'd love to!" She looks down at the worm before her, poking it with her utensil at first to stall the inevitable first bite. This bite could make or break her entire meal if she wasn't careful, and she didn't want to look like a picky eater in front of her new friends. She finally cuts off a piece of the worm and closes her eyes while she takes a chomp out of the meat. Slowly working it in her cheek, her eyes light up and she begins to eat her meal with more vigor. This wasn't half bad! It sort of reminded her of a hybrid between soft crab meat and a thick and juicy steak. She peeks up long enough to look at the veggie Genesis holds out for her to see and turns her attention to the rinds on her place. Swallowing down the bite, she picks one up and pops it into her mouth next, contently crunching on it. There was a perfect balance of flavors! If she wasn't careful, she could see herself going through a ten-pound bag of this stuff in the matter of a few hours. Niha tilts her head back to watch one of the alien gulls circle over their head, waiting for the right moment to swoop in and scavenge whatever leftovers the group left behind. It made Niha feel a little sad, and she wondered if how hungry they could be. She picks out one of the rinds and tosses it away from where they sit, letting two of them dive down and fight over the crunchy morsel. She tosses another one down to break up the fight before crunching on one for herself and turning to wait on Creed's answer to Genesis' question. WC: 798 | Total WC: 5,876 Genesis Andrew C. Creed
