It was an idyllic fall afternoon on New Namek, harvest season had came and went and the planet was slowly settling down for the cooler months of the year. Although New Namek didn't experience the fullest extent of winter as Earth did, it did tend to get quiet brisk in the northern regions, and even snow a bit in the high altitudes. This tranquility would not last long, for an ancient evil was about to grace this world. Birds chirped, fish swam, and all was well. Until a great gash suddenly appeared in the center of a Namekian forest. A wound in the very fabric of space itself, a dimensional rift carving open a portal from one end of the universe to the other. It let out a ghastly noise as it tore open, physics itself screaming in agony as it tried to mend shut the wound. Birds scattered in flocks, fleeing into the air. Animals had a knack for sensing danger, and the hellish rift radiated a fell presence few could ignore. An armored heel stepped through the portal, singing the grass beneath it as it touched soft earth. Another followed, and a long cloak kissed alone the ground. Shadows and darkness writhing like a thousand uncaged limbs beneath its length. The barely contained Dark Miasma of its wearer, a nightmare haze born of dark magic and ancient Tuffle destron gas. Amatricina the Avaricious stood tall and proud upon the planet's surface, mouth turn down in a slight scowl. Her brow furrowed in concentration, crimson mane of hair trailing behind her in the breeze. Her senses reaching out across the planet, searching for any noteworthy power levels. There were many, mostly Namekians which was a surprise to no one. The demoness had a brief run in recently with a Namekian warrior named Cress, a warrior sage who had made a fast enemy of her. The demon's pet Tyrant had slain the warrior himself, devouring his body based on his telekinetic roars to his 'pack leader.' In any event, it had given Amatricina some insight into the strange insectoid race. "Where are you?" The Demon Queen muttered to herself, a vein throbbing slightly at her temple as she increased both her concentration and her agitation. Where was this Divine Being the Saiyan Null had spoken of. Where was it hiding? He had said New Namek, and Amatricina had returned in haste to her Everchosen's warship, the Arioch, to confirm the location of the planet on Sincara's extensive star charts. Three scenarios were slowly emerging in the demoness' mind. The first, the most likely, this divine being had already left New Namek in the time between Null's blessing and his arrival on Earth. The Saiyan had offered no indication of how long it had been since his blessing, though his enthusiasm and wild speculations were a strong indicator it was recent. Perhaps as recent as within the very day itself. Moreover he had offered no insight this world was this so called deity's home, or anything more than a brief respite for that matter. If it was truly a Shinjin that blessed him, the being likely was already long since back in Other World by now. The second scenario, the one Amatricina doubted the most had occurred, was that Null had simply lied to her. He did have a flicker of divine energy about him, that much was true. She had sensed it, sampled it, tasted it. It was as genuine as her own ki was demonic. But what of its origins? Null did not strike Amatricina as a particularly 'wise' Saiyan, as boasting one's divinity to the Queen of the Demon Realm could hardly be considered a well thought out approach to getting into her good graces. She doubted him cunning enough to deceive her, and for what purpose anyways? She supposed this could be a clever ploy to get her to leave Earth immediately, but to what ends? The demoness dismissively waved a hand, she highly doubted Null either capable enough for such deception or a pawn in a larger scheme. That left the third scenario, which trailed behind the first in likelihood. This Divine Being was still present on New Namek, and was either so lowly in power level that Amatricina could not sense them among the myriad of modestly powerful Namekian warriors. Or, they were already suppressing their own power level. Amatricina gritted her teeth, clenching her fists. If she had been deceived by Null so easily, blinded by her own blood lust against divinity divinity. She'd split his skull from his spine when next she saw him. More importantly, she wouldn't let herself live down the embarrassment of being tricked by a monkey brute. And if this divine being had already left, she was already wasting her precious time. She needed to search the planet more thoroughly is all, to confirm her suspicions. With that, the Demon Queen flared her blazing aura of demonic ki. The ground beneath her feet shattered like the epicenter of an earthquake, grasses torched in a wide circle where she had stood as she took off. "If you are here, I will find you yet." Amatricina said to herself, hurtling across the planet's skies like a molten meteor of demonic hatred. Scanning the horizon as her ki sense felt outwards. She'd comb this world personally, not returning until she was satisfied the results were conclusive. Her vast power level like a grim beacon to any beacon with even the faintest ability to sense ki. An immense, burning darkness that left an ominous dread in the minds of those that felt its presence. The aura of the Demon Queen, the antithesis of divinity itself.

The village paths today are filled with the sound of happy children's laughter flitting over the ambient sounds of New Namek and its serene atmosphere. Their handmade decorations that had been put up to celebrate the bountiful and prosperous season had been taken down today to be saved for the next year. The next celebration would be to harken in the spring-time. New crops would be planted to grow for the harvest next year. For now, winter was what was on people's minds. The chillier air had a way of bringing people together, adding to the strong sense of community amongst the Namekian people.
They would work together to make sure they always had a source of water that wouldn't risk freezing in case any oddities struck the planet's normal climate, and they tried to keep some small stores of food away as well. They went about repairing their huts and cottage to fix whatever damages came from the months before, ensuring that they had shelter to keep away the cold. Niha was out in the village for once with Abut. They decided to stop by and meet with some old friends and to see if there was anything they could aid them with, in the meantime. Niha did not often try to pry into Abut's personal life as far as the friendships they forged before her time went, so she excused herself to help with supervising the young slugs antics.
Now that their work was finished for them today, many of them were chasing each other around with dull wooden blades shoddily fastened together with a frayed wrapping of twine. Others were rough-housing with their fists, but it was clear that many of them were young hopeful warriors. Niha was so proud to get glimpses into their growth and promise. She even lowered herself from her hovering perch to join in the fun and let some of the young ones climb over her or bop her with their swords. Like any good actor playing a potential evil that plagued the planet, she would fade and fall, miming out the fake throes of death that the mighty conquerers wrought.
She laid on the ground enduring some taps to the head from a fake sword as one of the tiny Namekians cheered over her and boasted their strength to their friends. Then, the thunderous rumble quaked across the lands causing everyone in the village and potentially across New Namek as a whole to freeze in their tracks. Something was wrong in the air and it didn't take just the elders to notice it. Niha looks up to the skies to watch the flock of birds fleeing, her visage paled by the pure horror that sat in her stomach like a stone. She had only recently felt something like this in Port Brief, but the feeling of dread brought on by this was in an entirely different league.
What could possibly possess this magnitude of demonic energy? Was a tear open to the demon realm itself? If that was the case, there was no telling what armies of evil could be scrambling to march over the lands. The girl sat up and watched the children tremble where they stand, while others wailed with tears and ran off to find a guardian to comfort and protect them. "P-Please, don't panic." Niha quickly whispers to the children remaining, trying to usher them back to the safety of the village proper. "It's going to be alright. This way!" She holds a couple of their hands and hastily drifts through the air until some older Namekian people can take them off her hands and herd them inside to hide from the threat.
The blue-haired girl looks around, trying to find Abut in the midst of a crowd of panicked people afraid for their lives. When she can spot him anxiously trying to spot her too, she weaves through the masses to fly over his head. "Niha, we have to return to the cottage. Now." Abut sternly tries to tell her. Niha hesitates and nods once, reaching down to lace her arm with his, so that she may help them fly back to the abode. She eases the elderly Namekian onto the ground and drifts higher in the air with a conflicted expression in her features.
"What are you doing, Niha? We must get inside at once. The warriors can handle it and the elders will know what to do if they cannot." Abut tells her, the words spoken torn between a firm sense of discipline and a worried plea for Niha to listen to his reason. "I-I can't stay here." Niha sorrowfully tells Abut, her voice but a haunted shadow of her usual melodic tones, "I've felt...something like this before. We've been taught of its nature. If whatever is out there finds a trace of me...they...they won't spare you. They won't spare the village or...or any other village here. I have to do this. Go, be safe. I'll try to return soon."
"Wait! Don't go out there alone! Come back, please! Niha!" Abut's panicked calls are distant behind Niha after she turns and focuses on flying as far away as she can. Every fiber of her being wanted to turn back and go back to the peaceful pocket of life she found, but she couldn't endanger him. So, she flies to the remote parts of the mountains, scanning the horizons nervously as she goes. If the demon-kin were to notice her divine energy, at least they would be led away from the innocent people down below. At the peak, Niha hovers over the mountain top, her breath a small cloud against the cold air settled in. She wanted to hope that this was a bad dream, or just her imagination playing tricks on her. She wanted to turn back and apologize to Abut for worrying him, she wanted to know that everything was going to be okay.

Soaring across the planet's surface at speeds that shattered the sound barrier again and again as the demon collided through it, Amatricina gnashed her teeth in frustration. Everywhere she sensed it, fear, but that was not what she was here to do. Her senses probed endlessly for even the faintest glimmer of divinity among the teaming masses of the Namekian populace. When Niha took to the skies, the expenditure of divine ki to do so was like a beacon to the Demon Queen. "Found you!" She declared to herself triumphantly, bolstering herself to speed up as she raced across New Namek at ever boundless speeds. Trees were flattened in rows by the wave of pressure behind her, and water plumed in massive spouts hundreds of feet high from her displacement. The divine energy was headed towards the mountains, isolated and alone from the beings who graced this world. Did it intend to challenge her, away from its companions who would only be targets in the clash? Amatricina hoped so, clenching her fists as demonic energies crackled at her fingertips in arcane lightning. Amatricina passed through mountain ridges, triggering avalanches with her sonic boom and melting snow capped peaks with the heat radiating from her body. She was closing in on her prey, like a lioness in full sprint after a gazelle. The power level of her target was minuscule compared to her own, well over a hundred times lower by her casual estimate. The demoness assumed her foe to be was simply masking its power level to catch her off guard. And as she drew closer, her prey finally came into fight. Amatricina came to a crushing halt, all forward momentum ceasing in a terrible instant as she came to hover a hundred feet or so from her foe. The wave of wind sent a great cloud of snow into the air only to be vaporized as it met the Fire Demon's aura. Yet in spite of this, a puzzled look crossed the demon's face. She had expected a towering warrior, a stoic shinjin with a stern expression and a calmed mind. Or perhaps a reserved fighter of average height but a cunning disposition. What she was met with was barely fit to be called shinjin. A mere child at best, barely even an adolescent. Amatricina towered over the girl, a foot taller at minimum, far more if one included the horns. That was not what mattered though, what mattered was the fear. The shinjin girl was rank with it. Amatricina's fiery gaze remained locked on the woman, though her aura diminished until it was no longer at overwhelming levels of power. Her blood lust for battle waned, this was not a foe that would challenge her. "Speak, Child." The demoness commanded harshly, folding her arms crossed beneath her enormous bust. "I am Amatricina the Avaricious, Queen of the Demon Realm and Warlord of the Fire Demon clan. I am your death, and the death of all your kind. If you value your last moments among the living you will explain yourself. What is your name child, and why do you walk among the mortals? For months I have rampaged across the galaxy, and not once have I seen one of your kind. Explain your actions."

Niha could see the distant bullet of energy hurtling her way from the sprays of whole bodies of water and shards of the countryside parting in its wake. The shark's fin on the horizon ready to go in for the kill after tasting blood on the water. She curls her fingers and presses her nails into the palms of her hands, shaking from the strong grip she holds. She had to fight the urge to fly away then and there. If she was going to make a strategic retreat, Niha knew that it was imperative to save it for the right moment.
If she fled too soon, then it would likely just agitate the demon and create even more collateral damage than there already was. It would take the lands years to recover as it was. However, she wasn't sure if she would be able to manage it. The source moved faster than her eyes could track, closing several hundreds of miles in what only seemed like a second. Niha leans forward in a ready position, only to timidly start to straighten up when she realizes that the charged had stopped just short of what she was expecting. There, flying level with her was a single magnificent woman looking down on her small form, no other demons in sight. She finds herself looking around in confusion trying to see where the others might be hiding in wait for an ambush.
This immense power was radiating from a single being? It seemed impossible for Niha to comprehend, but sure enough, as the woman started to taper down her aura, the shift in the air could be felt. Niha wondered what she could have possibly done to get such a behemoth of force descended down onto her and her home. When Amatricina addresses her, she swallows down a painful lump in her throat and opens her mouth to say something. It was too late to consider running away now.
The stinging ache and dryness she felt in her mouth were as if she had been gargling nails. Did the woman mention the death of her entire people? A quiet squeak of noise is all that comes out the first attempt, but after Niha forcefully clears her throat, her trembling voice is strong enough to carry, "My name is Niha. I hold n-no titles or ties to sp-speak of. I left my home to find new knowledge."
Niha's voice may be able to be heard, but it still cracks and spikes in pitches throughout the entirety of her introduction. She turns to look down at New Namek's surface, avoiding looking directly towards any of the villages if she could help it. There was no reason to give Amatricina a direction to head if Niha's death wouldn't be enough to quell her fury. "Th-they always...fascinated me. F-from what little I could see of their lives, I mean. The way that despite how most are given little time compared to you and me, they are still able to fit in so many experiences and a torrent worth of emotion into their lifetime. I-I wanted to be a part of it.."
She trails off and breathes in a broken breath to find some courage in her heart. The small woman forces herself to try to meet Amatricina's gaze with her own. She had questions of her own for the Queen, and the least Niha felt she could do was try to face the confrontation with her own mortality that stood before her with some semblance of dignity. "If...If I may ask you now, what...what is it that I have done wrong? Why are you here? I have not ended the lives of any of your kin, nor have I went out of my way to try to do so. I've been here for years now, just...helping the people of this planet in whatever way I can. I seek no fight from you nor to harm you."
It may have been her purpose as one of the Shinjin to try to limit their demonic influences and try to keep them as confined in their realm as is possible, but Niha was weak. She knew that she did not have the strength or the resolve to go hunting them herself. Not only that, but she desperately wanted to find a way to purify and mend them rather than destroy them, so that they may be able to seek redemption. If they could, then it would be one less life wasted in her eyes. It was difficult to let go of the fact that a decent portion of their kind could have once been family to her.

Amatricina chuckled to herself, a haughty, sinister laugh matched only by the malevolence of her own smile. It was not simply fear that radiated from this Niha. It was terror. The young Shinjin was so laughably outmatched it was like a sapling standing before a wildfire. Still, Amatricina listened with keen intent on the girl's terrified response. All the wild her own demonic aura flared out in an overwhelming display even in a highly suppressed state. Even a mere hundred thousand power level was enough to threaten to suffocate out the child's divine aura. Amatricina remembered being that frail once, she was under a decade old and already more than capable of beating imps to death with her fists. Had this shinjin ever experienced a real taste of battle, the demoness mused to herself. In the blink of an eye, just as Niha finished her speech, Amatricina was gone. Reappearing directly in front of young Niha a moment later, her bust at eye level with the small Shinjin girl. The Demon Queen reached out, gripping the girl by the cheeks with an armored gauntlet. Not hard enough to draw blood, just delicately enough put pressure on them as she tilted the girl's head up to meet her burning gaze. "Niha the Shinjin." She said softly, feigning an innocent sweetness to her words. "Not a Kai, not even an attendant. Not a Guardian, not an Angel, nothing. I have traveled half way across the galaxy to catch something insignificant." Her words betrayed her annoyance at the reality of the situation. There would be no titanic battle between demonic and divine, no mighty foe to slay and soul to devour. Just a young girl, so woefully out of her element. The demoness looked Niha over like a grandmother inspecting her granddaughter after not seeing her for years. Pinching her cheeks with her restraining grip, giving Niha's face a kissy fish look to it against her will. "Hmm... Just look... at... you." Amatricina cooed, leaning in closer as she inspected the girl's delicate features. The demon let go of her prey's cheeks, a talon slowly running along her cheek and then to grace along her 'wings' of azure hair. "Aren't you just beautiful? A darling little angel come down from the heavens to grace the mortals with your presence. Your features are so very fair, too fair I think for what you have been doing here." Amatricina's gaze grew colder, though her tone remained unchanged. She reached a talon back down to the girl's small chin and tilted her head back up when the shijin tried to avert her gaze. "You were born of a golden fruit of the Kaiju, aren't you child?" She paused, letting her words carry before she resumed. "No need to answer, I can tell just by appearances. Such a perfect face, pale blue skin, no antennae. You are lesser Shinjin, you were born for greatness weren't you?" Amatricina laughed to herself, a sinister smile creeping slowly across her face. "You were a fool, Niha, to fraternize with these mortals like you are one of them. You should be on the Sacred World of the Kais, studying to be an apprentice to a Kai. In a few thousand years... you might be one." In a flash the Demon Queen's hand shot to the girl's throat and squeezed tight around it. Enough to elicit a gasp, not enough to bruise or draw blood. Amatricina was very delicate, despite her vast power. Control was just as important a facet of strength as might was. She lifted the child to eye level, licking her plush lips with her forked tongue as she did. "Instead you are here. Damning yourself and in the clutches of the Queen of the Demon Realm herself. So far from your kin, your safety, your hope. I could kill you in so many ways, I couldn't list them all." Amatricina's tone was more malicious now, evil to the core as she threatened the girl. The demoness cackled to herself again though, gesturing at the girl with her free hand. "I had planned to devour you, but you're just a twig. How old are you child, a century? Less? More? When I was your age I was much more... developed that that." She criticized, pointing at Niha's slender figure. Amatricina had been an early bloomer... and a late bloomer. "You must hardly eat." She teased, making light of the girl's terrible plight. "You should put some meat on those bones. Maybe I fatten you up first? Then I devour your divine ki... then your body... then your soul." The last word made the Demon of Avarice's mouth water and she licked her lips again. Amatricina slowly shook her head, regaining her composure. She was enjoying herself far too much, and enjoying her prospective meal nearly as much. The power granted to her by the Eternal Dragon, it made her sin of Gluttony so much more... ravenous. She could now devour ki itself, draining the light from her foes and feasting on their very aura until they grew frail and weak, all while nourishing her even in the heat of battle. The urges it brought were still new and could be... difficult to suppress. Amatricina's gaze suddenly became dark and smoldering. The fire in her eyes shifting from a fiery orange to a deep crimson. Her grip tightened slightly, though she forced herself to relax it ever so. She would not break this child's neck. It was far too easy of a death. "What have you done wrong?" Amatricina mused aloud, remembering the child's questions. "You exist. You were born of the sacred fruit, fell from the great Kaiju tree, and share the blood of my kinds' most hated enemy. What more, Child, could you do? Why am I here, for you. Nothing more, nothing less. A mortal betrayed you to me, boasted of a divine blessing you granted him. Null, the Saiyan. He sold you out to me with his boasting, in the foolish assumption I might train him." Amatricina laughed to herself, but it was far darker than her earlier laughter. Ominous dread radiated from her very being now. Like a thick miasma that hung in the air. "I came as quickly as I could, hoping to find this 'divine being' and slay it in battle. Instead I find a child, her days spent living in tranquility among her mortal pets. I am aware you seek no fight from me. I am beyond fighting for the likes of you. No warrior on this planet could give me pause. I am the Strongest in the Universe, none can challenge my reign." Amatricina shook Niha slightly, if only to scare her. Her boundless wrath was slowly building inside her black heart. "You may never have harmed my kin, but you are still Shinjin, Child. You are still as guilty as the Kais you are destined to stand among. Guilty of imprisoning my race in the abyss at the bottom of the universe! For seventy five million years we have suffered in darkness. Made it our homes against its will. Empowered our bodies with its ruinous energy. We have become masters of our prison, the prison your kind gave to us. But we are prisoners still!" Amatricina gnashed her teeth, rage building inside her with each word. "I will be the one to undo the seal on the Demon Realm. And I will return every injustice brought down on us a hundred fold on your kind. That is the Will of the Demon Queen!"

Niha barely has time to react to getting grabbed up by Amatricina, uttering a choked yelp from her throat when she realizes she's in the demon's clutches. She patiently seems to endure her head getting twisted around and the squishing grip, allowing her face to be smooshed to whatever expression Amatricina wants her to make. It wasn't like she had much choice in the matter and it was something that Niha wasn't entirely unused to. Much friendlier people would sometimes forgo their boundaries to dote on Niha like they would with their own family. Normally it was a sweet gesture coming from people that were used to being around young children; that came coupled with lots of praise and compliments. This felt different like she was a piece of produce getting squeezed and prodded to see if she was ripe and tender. Unable to look away from her, Niha peeks up at Amatricina through one open eye.
She could feel herself shrinking with everything listed that Niha wasn't. It was true that she hadn't earned any of those titles, but Niha knew that it wasn't for a lack of trying. She studied as hard as any of the other kin that was her age, and she waited on the Kai hand and foot when she could. It did help them know her for her heart and dedication, but those with the confidence to match would always seize the opportunities before she could. Her elders told her that it was natural to be uncertain in one's self and it could take some longer than others to put it behind them. "I....guess so." She mumbles in a barely audible whisper, wincing when her darting gaze is drawn back up to the frightening woman before her. A blend of purple and pink shades start to spread across her cheeks, making her face warm up with the heat of her embarrassment in the moment. Niha probably wouldn't go that far personally, she's seen some beautiful mortals that she wouldn't hold a candle to in her opinion. When the question of her birth comes up, Niha opens her mouth to answer only to clamp it shut again when she answers the question herself. Her head just twitches in a minute nod, confirming the observations laid out before her.
Her fingers flex and her fists get tighter when she's berated and the hum of a tiny whimper could be felt in Amatricina's own tensing grasp. Niha had a difficult time arguing her case, but she tried to remember that as a Queen of the demons, this woman had to be a master manipulator that wanted to make her feel like she was nothing. Many of the Kai and the Supreme Kai that came before her held many accomplishments and earned their respected positions having never left the Other World. Niha didn't just want to observe the world, she wanted to live it and know it through experience. Like comparing reading the written work to living through a character on the stage, she hoped that the change in perspective would help her someday better make the difficult decisions that would come to such important figures. Niha barely glances down to look down at herself when her petite frame is pointed out. She never really thought about it before, but when side by side with such a voluptuous woman, it was easy to feel inadequate by comparison. Physical attraction was low on the list of things people loved Niha for. Her compassion, her spirit, and her innocence were things that stood out more than her figure.
She starts to kick her legs in a struggle reaching up with both of her hands to give herself more leverage to try to ease the slightly choked sensation she's feeling. There was nothing like talk of getting devoured to put some more fight in a person. "About...about a century now, yes. B-b-but please, don't! I-I wouldn't be a good meal at all!" Niha begs through a small sob, a spiked pitch in her words brought on by the demon's tightening grasp. She didn't want to die here, she still had so much to live for. She never even got to say goodbye to Abut before she left. Her limbs freeze and lock up the moment that Null's name comes up and she lifts her head to stare dead into Amatricina's eyes with a shocked look of disbelief. The Saiyan man that she met in Port Brief? The one that apologized to her for his harsh words and helped her sell her herbs? She did nothing but try to give to that man that day. Honest service, kind advice, answers to his questions about her, and even gave him what she felt was nothing more than a small gesture to show her support for his cause; a blessing and prayer for his success. He wanted to train with this woman, a Queen of the Demons? More importantly, he mentioned meeting her here?
Niha knew that Null had mentioned training in the demonic realms before, but she pleaded for him to avoid it like the plague. It changed people, even those with pure hearts and sound minds. It was obvious that he had ignored that part of her warnings, but she couldn't believe that he would return to the maw of the beast again so soon. Was she that useless to him after all? She could feel her sundered heart shatter in her chest, the questions hammering down on the pieces and leaving her mind spinning. Heavy beads of tears roll down her cheeks and the grip of her hands start to loosen up around Amatricina's gauntlets until they fall to her sides. Her arms and legs dangle weakly through the throttled shakes and she stares through the other woman with a far-off look in her bleary eyes. Niha had not only carelessly brought this fate onto herself with her openness of who she was, but she brought it onto Abut and countless other people of New Namek. Maybe the planet would be a safer place if the Queen Demon did snuff out her life then and there.
The talk of the fate of the Demons and the decisions of her people from generations before her time is a muffled drone to her that slowly greets her return to reality. She blinks to focus her vision above her and tries to push down the stab of betrayal to speak in a shaking voice, "I...I regret the suffering your people have gone through." She hollowly tells Amatricina, "I wish that our ancestors found some other way without casting you down. I wish that there was a way to take the suffering and bloodshed away. On...on behalf of my people, I am sorry for what you and your kind must go through to survive. But I...I do not think If the seal has lasted through the coming and going of the Kai and Supreme Kai of old, that even our extinction would undo it."

Amatricina was elated to see the range of emotions flood through the child. Fear replaced by terror, terror giving way to sorrow, and sorrow giving way to hopelessness. The demoness did not have to raise a finger to beat her. Her words alone had broken the Shinjin's spirit. It was a moment to be savored. Every moment of misery for one of demonkind's most hated enemy was a moment of elation for a demon. "Don't cry little Niha... your suffering will be over soon." The Demon Queen cooed in feigned tenderness as she gently whisked away tears from the young shinjin's eyes. Though in truth, there was the faintest glimmer of truth to her words. Niha reminded Amatricina of the daughter she wished to have some day, beautiful and intelligent, her heart filled with pride and a fierce love of her kin. It was a shame the child was born of the wrong race. In another life, she'd have made a demon worthy of Amatricina's doting affections. The demoness was slightly taken aback when Niha swallowed her sorrows and spoke once more. She had expected begs for mercy, pleading cries desperate to save her friends and loved ones. Perhaps even a feeble attempt at swearing fealty to prolong her own existence. But compassion, in her final moments? It was a concept alien to Amatricina, and gave the demon great pause. She listened to the child's words, if only because in that moment she knew not what else to do. Her dread father had always told her to let your enemies speech their final words, before you snuff the flame from their eyes. And she was, but this was not the final speech she expected from the most ancient of enemies her kind knew. "I lament the suffering my kind has gone through as well, Child." Amatricina finally said, a defiant flame burning in her eyes. "Though I do not regret it, we are stronger for our suffering. Steel can only be tempered by the blaze..." With that the demon's free hand flexed, fingers crackling with Dark Energy.
Elsewhere on New Namek, a great sense of urgency hung in the air. Plans were already set in motion, ancient contingencies meant to keep the planet safe from great and terrible evil. When Niha fled Abut's village to lure the Demon Queen away from the innocent, the venerable warrior had sprung into action. "Go!" He shouted to his brethren young and old. "We must warn Grand Elder Cargo! The Eternal Dragon must be summoned!" There was fear in the Namekian's voice, but also great conviction. His brethren nodded in acknowledgement, flying off to the four corners of the skies to alert the other villages of the danger. In truth, they themselves already sensed Amatricina's power level, and vast demonic energy. All across New Namek the fastest warriors were racing to Grand Elder's palace deep in the heart of the planet's capital city. Abut made his way to the home of his village elder, a once powerful but now aged warrior who had been his mentor in the man's youth. "Elder." Abut shouted as he entered the man's house, nearly knocking a door wide off its hinges in his haste. "I know Abut, I have sensed it too." The village Elder replied, already retrieving his sacred treasure from its resting place. The Namekian opened a small trunk, retrieving a large orange gem the size of a basketball from within. A Namekian Dragonball, larger and more powerful than those of Earth. "A powerful demon, unlike any our clan has ever seen." The Elder speaks as he inspects his gem, holding it carefully in hand before stepping forth to his comrade. "Then we must summon the Eternal Dragon." Abut says excitedly, clenching his fists as he thinks of poor Niha going to face the demon alone. She could already be dead, soon they may all be. "He is our only hope!" "Agreed my brother." Said the Elder, coughing fiercely into his free hand as the other clutched his gem. "You are faster than I, go. With haste Abut!" He commanded as he handed over the Six Star Dragonball. Without another word Abut took the magic gem in hand, flying off into the horizon once he made his way outside. He flew as fast as he could, eyes locked on the eastern mountains and the terrible energy that radiated from it. "Niha." He thought to himself, brow sweating in exertion as he sped himself up faster. "Hold out, we won't abandon you Niha." He words steeled his resolve, and the veteran warrior surged forward. He could feel the power levels of other strong Namekians, all converging on the capital city as quickly as they could. Good, his brothers had heeded the call. There was hope yet, there was always hope. Within the Capital City, Grand Elder Cargo's palace was abuzz with activity. Alarms sounded throughout the city, and chaos and panic had begun to overtake the populace. Grand Elder did his best to assure the public they would be safe. But there was only so much he could do. Eventually he was forced to hand off damage control to one of his close advisers, his younger brother Lians. Grand Elder had a much more important task at hand, one that was truly the only surefire hope of the planet. He rushed to the top of his palace, an attendant clutching in hand the Seven Star Dragonball as they ascended the stairs. On the roof of the Grand Elder's palace was a raised dais, with seven perfectly carved indentations sized to fit each of the seven sacred Dragonballs. The attendant placed the Elder's orb in its correlating spot, then looked to his leader for guidance. "Now we wait." Cargo said simply, clutching his staff as he looked to the skies. "And we pray our brothers arrive fast enough." The Seven Dragonballs were kept scattered across the surface of New Namek, so no off-worlder could gather them quickly. In times of dire stress, the strongest warrior of each of the seven great Namekian clans that made up the planet's populace were sent to the capital city. Once they arrived the Dragonballs were placed together, and the Grand Elder invoked the ritual to summon the mighty Porunga, Dragon of Dreams, to aid them. It was the One Star Ball that arrived fastest, its clan the closest to the capital and arriving with the most haste. The Second and Fourth arrived soon after, their warriors nodding in silent acknowledgement of each other as they placed their gems in their correlating slots. The Fifth Star Dragonball came next, followed close behind by the Third. "Only one more." Grand Elder Cargo stated to his followers, as they looked on with unease to the darkening skies above the distant mountains. Abut meanwhile was pushing himself to his limits. His clan was the furthest from the Capital, and he was not the warrior he had been in his prime. Even still he knew he was the strongest and fastest of his clan. They were simple people, farmers and scholars with few warriors between them. None could have made the journey as fast as he. With the Grand Elder's palace coming into sight the Namekian bee lined towards the rooftop. He could clearly see his brothers standing huddled around the Dragonballs awaiting his arrival. Wasting no time, Abut landed and placed the gem down in its spot in one swift motion. "I'm sorry I'm late, Grand Elder please begin the ritual immediately." He said as he bowed his head and took his place besides the five other warriors who had clan across the planet. "Apologies can come later." Grand Elder Cargo said, tapping his staff on the dais as the Dragonballs began to glow with shimmering orange light. "Takkaraputo Popurunga Pupirittoparo!" The elder shouted, as radiant magical energy flooded forth from the Seven Dragonballs. A massive winding surge of light shot forward into the skies. The heavens above darkened, great thunderclouds appearing as lightning and thunder shook the city. From the light the body of the Eternal Dragon was forged, long serpentine tail coiling once as it arced back to the Dragonballs far below. Porunga, the Dragon of Dreams himself stood looming above the city looking down upon those who had summoned him below. Two huge muscled arms and a broad powerful chest gave the kind hearted dragon a brutal and imposing appearance. The Capital City grew deathly silent as all looked on in awe at the titanic creature. "I am Porunga. You have collected all seven dragonballs, and now, as it is written, think wisely and I will grant you one wish within my power." In ancient times, under Grand Elder Guru, Porunga had been a much stronger Eternal Dragon. But, his power was only relative to that of his creator. Grand Elder Moori had been slain only a few years ago, and his younger brother Grand Elder Cargo was young for his position and much weaker than his elder brother had been. As a result, Porunga's power had waned from previous heights. None the less he was still New Namek's best chance of stopping the Demon Queen. Cargo threw up his hands, speaking in the Namekian language to address the Eternal Dragon. Translated, his words said "Eternal Dragon, here my wish. Banish the demon that plagues our world back to her realm! I beg of you Porunga!" As his words finished the dragon looked down, his eyes narrowing as his crimson gaze met the warriors' below. "I have heard your wish. It is within my power, I will banish the Demon Queen back to her realm."With that Porunga pinched his thumb and index finger together, a flash of ruby light emanating from his eyes. In an instant the dark presence felt across New Namek was gone. The thunderclouds over the distant mountains beginning to fade as the demoness was hurtled back towards her realm. Porunga folded his gargantuan arms, his brow furrowed in concentration. Something was amiss. "Your wish is granted. The Demon Queen is returned to her realm." There was a slight pause, and Porunga continued to speak. "But... She is powerful, I have banished her, but I cannot banish her forever. Power greater than my own keeps her kind sealed away. This seal she has overcome before. She will return someday, know this and heed my words."With that said Porunga glowed with a brilliant orange light, in a flash fading from existence. The Dragonballs themselves flooded with his energy, lifting high into the air and scattered across the planet once more. They would need to gathered once they reactivated, but for now it seemed New Namek was safe at last. Grand Elder Cargo breathed a sigh of relief, reaching with unsteady hands for his staff. Abut handed it to him, a smile painted across his wrinkled face. "You have done it Grand Elder." He said in elation. The Grand Elder smiled, nodding his head as he gripped his staff. "Indeed, we have." He corrected the warrior, turning to look wearily out into the distance. "I only hope we were not too late..."
Meanwhile, far away in the mountains, the Queen of the Demon Realm drew forth her hellish energies into the talons of her gauntlet. It glowed with an ebony flame that drank in light and radiated raw demonic power. "I wish your ancestors had found another way as well, Child." Amatricina admitted, a moment of hesitation keeping her from slaying the girl. "But we cannot change the past, we can only accept the present we are born into. I have claimed my destiny, by my hand I will carry out justice on behalf of my kind." The demoness cackled though at Niha's desire to rid the demons of bloodshed and suffering. "You don't understand do you, Child? We relish the bloodshed, live to sow suffering. To take that away from us is to take away that which makes us Demon. You cannot speak on behalf of your people, you wield no authority. You speak, Niha, only on behalf of yourself."Amatricina flashed a fanged smile, nodding in agreement with the Shinjin girl. "That matters not to me child. Even if the death of each and every one of your kind does not destroy the seal on my realm, I will. Killing your race is just punishment for the millions of years of imprisonment my race has been forced to endure!" In that moment Amatricina felt a distant power level, on the far side of the planet. Far stronger than Niha's, it was not Namekian. It was godly ki, divinity. Another Shinjin, perhaps a Kai. She had delayed the inevitable long enough. "It's been my pleasure though Niha, but now you die!" With that Amatricina reached out with her claws, intent to tear the girl's heart from her chest in her most favored means of execution. The next thing Amatricina knew she was being pulled between dimensions against her will. This was not her Dimensional Rift, this was not a portal of demonic magic. Godly ki flowed around her, boring a tunnel between realms. It stung to the touch, and the Demon Queen tried to claw her way at the edges. Her talons dug into the divine energy, but did not slow her descent into the unknown. The gesture only succeeded in searing her hands. Amatricina roared in fury, cursing the name of every Kai she knew, cursing Niha last of all. The next thing she knew she was flung into the cold depths of space. Into a familiar black abyss. Amatricina breathed in, but it was not oxygen she was inhaling. It was Dark Energy, it flowed around her. She was in the Demon Realm once more. Her home, her prison, trapped here anew. Her aura flared to blistering powerful magnitudes as she changed into her Demon God form. Meteors and asteroids around her shattering into cosmic dust. The demon heated her claws with more searing Dark Energy. But she could not cleave open her Dimensional Rift. Her magic failed her, trying to invoke her technique sent shooting pain down her spine. Godly ki, it radiated through her body like poison in her veins. She tried again to no avail, gritting her teeth and roaring in anguish. Not from the pain, but from the unbridled rage she now could not inflict upon her foe. Again and again Amatricina tried to tear open a portal back to the Shinjin. Each and every time she tried, she failed. What sorcery had Niha done? It filled the demoness with such hatred nearby planets could feel her wrath. The Queen of the Demon Realm was left silently screaming into the void of space, before flying off to the nearest planet. Woe to the demons that inhabited it, overdue for an impromptu visit from their 'beloved' queen.

"Then...speaking for myself. Just...leave after and don't return, please. That is my only request." Niha solemnly asks of Amatricina, barely trying to turn her head away as the demoness dries some of her tears. "They didn't do anything wrong." It felt like it was the least she could do, to make up for the trouble that she had led here. Her defeated gaze drifts over to the Queen Demon's free hand, the light of crackling sparks and the flicker of the dark flames barely reflect in her purple eyes, a final mirror to what she thought would surely be her last memory. What would it be like returning home this way? Would she be strong enough to hold onto her form? Would the Kai forbid her from returning to this world? Xeno himself probably wouldn't think her worthy enough to walk among the mortals as their challenger. Maybe this final act of endangerment would be enough to weigh down her eternal soul and cast her into the demon realm. The guilt weighed heavily enough on her shoulders as it was, that she didn't think that was such a bad punishment.
In the final moments, she closes her eyes to shield them from what was to come, bracing herself for a world of pain and then what was unknown to her. Then, something that felt familiar to her seems to pry Amatricina's hands free from around her, leaving her sucking in a sharp gasp of fresh air to make up for the pressure that's been consistently around her wind-pipe. She coughs out her restrained sobs and looks around, twisting in the air to see where she may have gone. The Queen Demon's final screams of fury were whispers in the air until the only thing that surrounded Niha was the silence of the mountain peak. Her eyes take in the damage that led up to her and she slowly drifts down to kneel on the ground below. The cold was starting to return to the mountain with the pressure of the demon's aura gone, and snow falls in small flakes. Niha bows her head and wraps her arms around herself, shivering where she sits. She could hardly believe that she was alive right now.
More of her tears fall and start to melt into the thin blanket of snow. Amatricina knew her name and where she called home. The woman knew how to master her prison and would return here soon enough to try to finish the job. Just the act of trying to stay on New Namek and pretend that nothing happened would be knowingly endangering the many lives she cares about. But, where could she possibly go? She was only a visitor to the places she visited before, another outsider wandering through a foreign world. It took her ages to finally feel like she belonged in this place. Now, she had to think about starting that process all over and living through a lie no less. Niha didn't want to burden anyone with what she was again and made a silent promise to herself that she would never admit her nature so freely again. She did not even want to be divine or a God. Her questions on where she must go now had no answers from her, but she knew that she would have to face it soon. For now, Niha just wanted to be alone. She didn't want to see Abut or the others again just yet. Their relieved and joyful faces would be salt in her wounds.
It is a couple of hours that Niha spends alone up there, letting to snow swaddle her as she wept through her heartache. Eventually, she does drift to the skies and flies back to start her return to Abut's village. There Abut and the others stood together watching the horizon with nervous anticipation. Their faces light up and several move forward to crowd around her, badgering her with several questions at once, while most of the elders stood back watching the display with soft smiles. What happened? Was she hurt? Did they fight? What did the demon look like? Were there others like her? Niha looks around, forcing a paper thin smile as she patiently answered the questions one by one. Abut stood by her side, waiting for the crowds to start to disperse after their curiosity is sated.
A celebration was on their minds, for a great evil had been driven away and they would live to tell the story of it to future generations. Niha tries to turn and float towards the cottage, stopped only by Abut's hand softly resting on her shoulder. "Do you not wish to celebrate, too? It looks like they're bringing out the drums. I know how you like to listen to them..." Abut calmly asks her. She shakes her head slowly and mumbles, "I just want to lay down I think...you can go without me." Abut looks down, trying to think of the right thing to say would be in this situation. He and the elders were some of the only ones to know what could have brought the demon down on them. "It is not your fault, Niha. No one blames you, not even the Grand Elder. You did not force her to come here. What you did was no doubt brave and it may be why there are no casualties today. We will stand with you if the demon returns..."
Niha does not lift her head to look up at Abut, barely processing his words. His words were sincere, but they were only words clouded by affection. Even if they did blame her, she had doubts that they would say such out loud. "Th-thank you...Abut. What you all have done means...it means the world to me. I might come out later. Right now, I'm exhausted." Abut simply bows his head and lowers his hand to walk alongside Niha. They were simply happy to have her here alive and safe. After the first hour without any word, there had been talks of a search party getting sent to the mountains to see if there were any remains to be buried. "Very well. Two less will hardly be noticed. I will fix us both some tea." The smile that Niha musters up is small but sincere and the pair of them walk away to find some quiet solace.
The lights in the village remain lit and the sounds of joyful merriment can be heard well into the early morning before the sounds of the festivities start to die off. That morning, Niha would set off to do her share of the chores as she always did with a dull, vacant stare. She knew that it would not be easy for her from here on out, but she needed to take it one day at a time. She would make the time to talk with Abut, intending to warn him of her departure and how she was going to try to shorten her visits, and then pick the next stop on her journey. Maybe she could finally find the time to visit Earth now; it would be easy enough to find a ship traveling there. She had heard many lovely things about it from the travelers that passed through and frequented Port Brief.
The one thing that Niha tried to remember from this, was that she was lucky to be alive and she had many more things that she needed to do before her final days were here. It was the spark on the kindling needed to remind Niha of her dreams and the work it would take to realize them, waiting and hoping that something within her would change on its own wasn't going to be enough. She needed to find her purpose in the destiny that was laid out before her from the moment of her birth, and it would not be found among the mortals that she cherished.
