It was fairly common knowledge for anyone that knew much about the Namekian people that they could survive for great lengths of time on water alone. They were a hardy people with constitutions that allowed for them to thrive on their fasting lifestyle. It helped that they were not very decadent with their desires. Sure, many fruits and vegetables could serve their purposes if the natives did want to enjoy eating something with simple, natural flavors, but this was not enough for the more indulgent of tourists. One of the most common complaints from the people, in the beginning, was the lack of good food whenever they landed on the planet. If rations were not brought back with you, then you would have to endure until time to depart. However, with trade starting to bubble over at Port Brief, some enterprising vendors decided that this needed to change. They paid for the deeds and merchant permits to open a small selection of restaurant and food vending carts with a range of dishes from planet Earth. Many of them were culturally relevant to certain regions, but there were some recognizable meals such as hamburgers and fries, pizza, tacos, and meat and rice dishes. Much of the favorite dishes were the ones that were fattening and could be easily toted around while on the go. As much as Niha loved the planet's customs and adored living there when she wasn't out training, she had to admit that her diet could not be as easily adjusted as she'd like. It was why she often pushed to be the one to prepare meals in Abut's household. They had access to some substantial produce, and she could easily get ahold of some supplies to whip up some baked goods in the cottage's clay kiln. Today, however, Abut was feeling a little under the weather and decided that they should avoid trying to put food on their stomach. So, since Niha was left to wander out on her own to find a meal for herself today, it gave her the opportunity to try one of these businesses she happened across. As she walks down the street, she looks up contemplatively at the signs as she passes them by. It was prime lunch hour at this point, so many people Earthlings and Xenos alike were coming and going with their meals enjoying the day or eagerly chatting amongst their friends. The intermingling of savory scents that drift down the streets leave Niha's stomach audibly gurgling its complaints and she has to be careful to not catch herself drooling from the temptation it brings. One thing she knew for sure was that she needed to come to a decision quick! She decides to stop inside a building with a painted wooden sign of a simple cartoon fish hanging over the doorway. A friendly chime rings out when Niha steps through the doorway and she wanders up to what seems like a sushi oriented restaurant. From the looks of it, people could choose to sit right at the counter and watch the chefs prepare morsels made from imported and local cuts of fish or walk further inside the building to claim one of the mats centered around low tables. Niha had a feeling that she wouldn't be sitting down for very long. With how hungry she had let herself get, the first plate would probably end up being gone in moments, so she approaches the counter and sits upon one of the high stools. She looks up at the menu board and decides to go with a simple nigiri platter. It was modestly priced and offered a range of different options for her to snack on. After the order is placed with the chef, she turns away to look out over the people dining. The sounds of laughter and dinner time conversations from the lunchtime crowd are a pleasant accompaniment to the soft music that plays faintly. Her shoulders dip down as she breathes out a quiet sigh. All of these people enjoying themselves just made her think on how she'd most likely be dining alone today and how Abut was stuck at home feeling sick. She wondered if they would be okay by themselves at the cottage and started to debate on asking if she could get the platter to go. WC: 723 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD Food.
Some people's entire days centered around it. Some people's waistlines suffered for it. A necessity for living had too often become an indulgent sin that punished people's blood pressures. Still, Kuueru was guilty of it too. If not for her intense training sessions and high level of physical activity, the woman's pants would certainly be fitting a bit more... snug. Today was no different. The woman needed to eat, and preferably on a planet she had yet to visit. Ironically New Namek was one of those more popular destinations that somehow the demoness had skipped over. The planet itself boasted a port town that was the capital of tourism on the marble of cool toned colors. Where there was tourism, there was indeed good meals to be had. With a skip in her step the woman moved away from the mirror that decorated her wall. She was currently in her quarters on Hollow, a planet festering with demonic energy. It was home though, and Kuueru certainly enjoyed the link to her home Realm through its manifestation of power. Her own stomach grumbled, a turbulent storm was brewing in her guts, she had nearly gone an entire two hours without sustenance. How could the woman survive in such conditions? Tragic. So, it was decided. Kuueru laid the tablet upon her bed, it illustrated the tourism page on New Namek's Holonet page. Various attractions and reviews from passersby highlighted on the places to visit and eat with the least hiccups. If there was one thing that the woman was thankful to the mortal realm for, it was the wealth of knowledge that was accessible through technology. Then, in an instant the woman had vanished from her room. Her body was currently propelling through space and time at dizzying speeds. A painter's pallet of colors swirled past her as she made the trip, all the while the cacophony of sounds deafened her ears. It was something like the combination of all conversations in the universe taking place at once. Then suddenly, she was there. Hovering above the port her eyes gazed out over the expansive green waters which contrasted the lush blue fields. It was a beautiful scene, in stark difference to her home realm with a landscape of reds and purples. Slowly she descended, her eyes surveying the various shops, restaurants and activities. It was almost like she was on a boardwalk on one of Earth's beaches. People of all shapes, sizes, colors and creeds sauntered past the demoness as she tried to decide what decedent morsel she would eat first. Hamburgers, pizza, even one of her Earthling favorites, the hotdog. Still, none of that sounded appetizing for the demoness. She wanted to try something new, and with an entire galaxy to explore, there was always something new. Sushi? It sounded odd, and squishy. The woman took her stride towards the building that appeared to cater to all, but their primary dishes focused on fish. Kuueru didn't have much experience with the protein, so why not jump in headfirst? As she entered the room, people gave the pink-haired woman odd looks. While on the outside she appeared like any Earthling, perhaps a little tall, but normal; her energy however, was striking. Kuueru didn't bother to suppress her power that much, but still, she would get odd looks if she didn't at least try. So, she pushed the number down to a fraction of her full wrath. Still, that number was still felt by most even without ki sensing abilities. Not to mention her aura was cold, chaotic and hindered with malice. There was no mistaking a demon once you had felt one, and Kuueru certainly was that. Still, there was an odd bit of light in the woman's heart. She strode to the counter before taking a seat next to the cyan colored female. Kuueru then looked down to the menus that lay waiting. It seemed that the base for most of the options were of rice, though there were some fried foods like tempura and spring rolls. A single finger tapped upon her plump lips as she tried to decide what would be her first round of 'sushi'. "Say, you don't know what's good here do ya?" Kuueru mumbled aloud to the blue haired girl at the counter by her side. Hopefully this person had a suggestion. Still, Kuueru couldn't help but get an odd feeling from this stranger.

Purple eyes drift over to look beside her, resting on the form that Kuueru has chosen to take. She seemed like a pretty woman, but Niha didn't recall seeing her around the Port before. The chill of her presence comes to the small woman belatedly, leaving her visibly trembling from a sudden quake of unease. She tries to shake off the sensations, attempting to play it off as nothing more than her jolting awake from a groggy day-dream. Niha wasn't sure why she felt her heart race and her mind get clouded by the thought of standing up and getting as far away from this place as she could, but it had something to do with this woman here. It was something that had only been described to her by her people years ago, how it would feel when she was near a being that could thrive off of the dark energies of the Demon Realm. She did not think that it would be as obvious as they claimed, nor did she think that it was something that she would feel in her lifetime. Perhaps she was naive to trust that the seals would serve their purpose and keep the mortals safe from such dangers. Kuueru's power divided the two of them like an invisible fortress that could easily dwarf and consume Niha in its shadow. Yet, here she was in front of her, pleasantly asking Niha to recommend something from the menu. Surely this feeling had to just be an exaggerated part of her imagination? How fair would it be to run away or turn her back on her because of her discomfort alone? While she may be worthy of needing to be feared by her, she may also prove to Niha that she should not act so quickly on these instinctual feelings. Niha owed it to the woman to treat her the same as any other person that treated her cordially. She leans over to get another look at the menu before Kuueru, scanning it closely. " Lessee..." Niha hums out on the end of a breath that hummed a merry nonsensical melody, " I think if I remember right, there are three kinds...there's these rolls. They're called maki and uramaki I think. These are nigiri, they got the fish laid over top. And you can get sashimi if you don't want the rice...umm, there's temaki too if you want to eat it from these cones. The eel's one of my favorites, but you can get whole plates filled with different kinds that only cost a little more." She taps each type of sushi's corresponding picture so that the other woman can follow along with the explanation if she wants to. " Miso soup is really warming and I haven't found a kind of tempura that wasn't delicious!" After sitting back up in her stool, she holds her hand out in offering to Kuueru, " By the way, my name is Niha. Have you been on New Namek for long? If you haven't, I could tell you about some other places that might be fun to visit after you're done with your meal." She could probably think of a couple of things off of her head if she scrounged her brain for them. Normally she was content with the simple life out in the tranquil wilderness the planet had to offer, but Earth's influences opened the door to other ways to pass the time. There were dojos, of course, but Niha also vaguely recalled some archives that were open to the public and a new museum that described some of the Namekian's culture and history recently. They might sound like the epitome of dull ways to spend one's time to some people, but it was exactly the sort of thing that Niha would indulge in without question. There was nothing more satisfying to her than discovering something new and keeping the flames of her imagination bright by kindling them with tales from the past. WC: 662 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD Kuueru gazed over the menu absentmindedly. She would be kidding herself if she hadn't noticed the energy that the blue-haired woman at her side had given off. Still, it didn't faze her. It didn't interfere with her mission of dining this evening. It didn't matter to her whether she was busy either. Kuueru was well past the point of a typical demon. She was an oddity to note in the world for sure. Still, the other pointed out the menu thoroughly. Her finger suggested each menu item as she explained the item, and its ingredients and purpose. Kuueru nodded like a student in school. She was sure to not each item to memory, for surely, it wouldn't be the last time she tasted each item. Kuueru was a connoisseur of cuisines, that much had been explained by her past of lavish eating and exquisite menus. "Ahhh, I see. Seems this sushi thing is a bit more complex than I had thought. It's all sea creatures though, I suppose that is a specialty of the place. I'm eager to try them all," Kuueru exclaimed to the sushi chef behind the counter. His expression grew wide, and his hands moved faster. Now that he was ready to prepare each of the dishes that the blue-haired woman had mentioned, it was only a waiting game. Kuueru smiled towards the chef, and her newfound companion as she introduced herself shortly after. "Niha, hn. Nice to meet ya. I am Kuueru, also, no, this is my first trip to the planet," Kuueru paused while the woman explained further. It was obvious that she at least called this place home or was familiar with it. Kuueru nodded eagerly, having a personal guide for the time she was here couldn't be declined. "Ohh, that would be lovely. I'm sure this rock has more to offer than, sushi, as it's called. Perhaps there is even more good food, or …activities," Kuueru mumbled while looking towards the chef who was hard at work jumbling orders. Firstly, he handed over the soup, miso of course, towards the pink haired woman. Hey eyes set on the blocks of tofu floating within. Still, her spoon dug in as she began to indulge for the day. It was warm, hot even to the demoness's tongue. It wasn't long before the bowl was empty and taken away. Then, the full spread came. Everything that the blue-haired woman had mentioned was soon laid out before the demon. Wide-eyed she gazed at the buffet before turning towards Niha. "You're welcome to help me eat this, since you so graciously suggest it all! Then, once we're done, you can show me all those places, right? I mean, you don't need to feel obligated to babysit me that is," Kuueru mumbled before picking up a piece of fish with her chopsticks and shoving it into her mouth. Her eyes grew wide as she tried to comprehend the taste. After watching others in the restaurant, she tried it with some soy sauce. It was easier down at least. Frankly, sushi wasn't horrible, but it was something completely different than what the demoness was used to. She gulped down another piece of sushi, clad with rice this time. She swallowed the piece without much trouble. Perhaps the raw sashimi was too much for the woman. "Hmm, this is an interesting dish to say the least. I wonder, who all likes this?" Kuueru inferred. Her eyes set to Niha for a moment before they settled on the illustrious platter of food.

Niha bobs her head and folds her arms over the countertop to lean over it and get more comfortable. " The ocean is definitely one of the most beautiful parts of living here. It gives a great bounty to its people. Some of the fish around here might be intimidating to travelers though." She confesses with a grin paired with a tiny scrunch of her nose, " They look pretty weird compared to what people fish up on Earth, so I've been told. But there are some big ones out there in the ocean, so means that if you're brave enough you won't be going hungry anytime soon." She shifts on her stool to look over at the entranceway as more people come and go. " The Namekian people also make sure that the balance of the ecosystem isn't put at risk by giving the businesses a quota. Once they've caught that quota, then they can't catch any more fish for the rest of the...month I think?" New Namek's fishing regulations weren't exactly something that Niha kept up to date on, but she liked that they didn't let the promise of tourism revenue allow them to become greedy. They held onto their values and asked that visitors did the same. It was part of what made Niha love the planet so much. It was a simple and pure place that she felt right at home in. " I think places like this supplement that limit by bringing in supplies every so often.." She pauses in the conversation to offer a smile to the server when she returns and sets down a platter of various types of nigiri that they offered. The server then quickly leaves to try to gather up Kuueru's impressive order. " Kuueru is a pretty name." Niha compliments her, picking up a piece of the sushi with a piece of fresh prawn laid out on top of it to pop it in her mouth whole. One of her cheeks stays puffed out from the over-stuffed bite she took, but she at least has the manners to wait until after she's finished chewing before speaking again. " It kind of reminds me of the sound a cat makes when it's happy, or when a big bear scratches its back against the tree and hits just the right spot." To make it clear what she means, She spins around where she sits and does a little shimmy to briefly scratch her back against the very edge of the counter. She doesn't do it for long for fear of the funny looks, but she's still giggling by the time she spins back around again. " And we can hit all the fun places! There are tons of other restaurants, even an ice cream place that lets you have like ten or fifteen samples of flavors before they try to make you buy it or shoo you away! There's a flower stall I like to pass by that's not too far from the archives and this place that people go to play cards and an Earth game called Mahjong. I think the goal's to match a bunch of stuff..." When the massive platter arrives and Kuueru offers to share the buffet of choices with her, she eagerly breaks apart a pair of chopsticks so she can take her pick from one of the smaller pieces. Normally Niha was used to picking it up and eating it with her hands, but it felt rude to consider in front of company. " Thank you! You can have some of mine too if you want, though I think some of it is the same as what you ordered. Just means you can get more of your favorites if you felt like it!" Niha exclaims gratefully after she pops the piece into her mouth and chews it contently. " Fish is my favorite! I've tried to catch some in the stream by the cottage, but they're always too fast for me to get. They're kinda small anyway." When Kuueru mentions obligations, the blue-haired woman shakes her head and tries to quickly reassure her, " Don't worry, it wouldn't be babysitting at all! I wasn't sure what I was going to do after I got done here anyway. I probably would have just moped a little while before trudging back home after doing a whole lot of nothing." In all honesty, it had been a long time since Niha had met another young woman to be friends with. Though she made an effort to tell many people that frequented New Namek and the Port hello and keep in touch with them, rarely did many tolerate her well or long enough to truly become her friends. Abut could be fun to spend time with, but they were hardly a replacement for the kind of friendship two women could have. " When I first came here, I didn't really have anyone to show me around, so it feels like the least I can do now that I sorta know my way around here." WC: 834 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD "I never thought of New Namek when it came to oceans," Kuueru replied in a somber tone. She was hungry, thought the side conversation was welcome. It wasn't often that Kuueru had the opportunity to get out, socialize, or step away from her business as of late. There were meetings galore, missions to be executed, and her own personal affairs to mingle in. For someone who didn't keep a planner or agenda, Kuueru managed to juggle it all with quite the poise. Her head turned towards the blue haired girl, noting her facial expressions as she spoke on the local sea creatures. Kuueru could agree, but she thought all fish were intimidating. They were ugly, immune to pain, and ate anything that was bigger than them. She had even noted some fish that had died taking on a bite they couldn’t handle. "Fish is, an interesting choice. To go out of our natural realm and hunt creatures of an underwater realm. I'd understand an amphibious or even an oceanic race, but Earthlings, and erm, I hate to assume a person's race based on appearances alone. Where do you hail from?" Kuueru inquired, she gestured along to show her interest. It just so happened that her immaculate order arrived in the midst of conversation. It took the chef a good few trips to bring it, he even offered a complementary bottle of sake for spending such an amount of Zeni. Kuueru eyes the warm alcohol curiously before pouring herself a small cup. "You think it's pretty eh? Not the first thing that comes to mind," Kuueru mumbled before staring at the girl's odd bear impersonation. Kuueru cleared her throat and awkwardly looked around the restaurant in time to catch a few lingering and rather awkward stares. For just a moment embarrassment may have panged her soul. She shook it, her attention quickly turning back to their food, and her drink. She slammed back the warm drink in order to ease her nerves. Something was off about Niha, she just had to place it. Still, as soon as the impromptu thespian was done with her performance, it looked like she was eager to get back into the meal. Niha described all of the places they could visit, and all of the things that the girl had an interest in. Kuueru was a tourist type, no doubt, but she was more into material things, more into tangible moments in lieu of moments engrained in her mind. Perhaps one day she would be able to see the world that way. "Ice cream huh?" Kuueru had heard of it once before, but never had the chance to try it. Being an ice demon, she could only imagine how delicious the treat would be. She was beaming at the thought, as she plucked up a random piece of sushi amongst the sea of food. Then another, then another. One might wonder if the demon even took a moment to taste the food. "Seems that there are a lot of simple joys here. I don't have many hobbies, so it's interesting to see what people do with their free time. I work too much myself." Kuueru lamented, her tired eyes watching the stream of sake as she poured another glass. She motioned to Niha, pulling out an empty serving dish and pouring her a share of the rice wine. "Cheers!" Kuueru smiled and continued about her lunch. She wasn't particular about taking food from the other's plate, she had way too much on her own. Speaking of, those fried shrimp looked delectable. "I haven't had a lot of fish to know if I like it! So far so good though! There's no resistance in the meat unlike some proteins. It's nice, I already knew I had a love of shellfish though. Shrimp, scallops, lobsters! I'll take them all please!" Kuueru grinned from eat to eat as she moved through and tried each and every one of the pieces on her plate. She felt like her stomach was boundless, and even the chef behind the counter seemed wary of her ability to eat. "Well, I guess if you had no plans. You do now! Show me New Namek miss Niha, I want to know all about it. To be honest, I've only read about it on the net, so seeing it in person is different," Kuueru rubbed her stomach, and her food became lesser and lesser. Until it was gone. She polished off the bottle of sake and soon the chef walked over with their bill. "Hmm, let's see…" Kuueru held the receipt in her hand, her eyes glazing over at the numbers. She quickly handed over a card back to the man who charged her the Zeni. Once done, he passed it back with a smile. "All right then, I suppose we can head out whenever you're ready then! I want to see what shops are around too!" Kuueru nodded and swirled around in her chair to face the door and the outside world.

" What planets do you usually think of when it comes to oceans? I haven't visited a lot of places before actually. New Namek, I took a ship out to Tech Tech recently and that was nice. But that's about it...another place with a lot of beaches would be nice to see." Niha asks of Kuueru after she finishes off a piece of unagi. She wanted to travel more, but she had to admit to being a comfortable creature of habit sometimes. She liked it here and there was so much she could do to pass the time. She almost felt guilty whenever she had to leave Abut behind for a few weeks at a time. They were the closest thing she had to a mortal family at this point. Speaking of heritage, when Kuueru asks Niha of her race, it causes her to nearly choke mid-bite. She coughs into her hand and lowers her head, trying to cough up the fish and get it to go down the right pipe. She wipes some water from her eye when the worst of it has passed, clearing her throat to help her recover. " Where I live is...really far away." Niha carefully confesses to the other woman, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly. " I guess it's not really that important. I know everyone I used to know is doing okay there. I'll probably go back and visit someday soon, but I'm not really ready to make the trip yet. It isn't an easy one to make." She had a difficult time denying the feeling of unease she got from the other woman. It wasn't like she didn't want to trust her, but if she brought this up before they got to know each other, then Niha feared that it would ruin any chance that they had for forming a bond. That wasn't even considering if her suspicions were right, because then there was the chance that the Kuueru wouldn't even want to let her live. Thankfully, the food before them seems to be a good enough temporary distraction for the demoness and Niha is content with enjoying it at her own pace. " Oh yeah, they have all sorts of flavors." She confirms with an eager nod of her head, " They have the usual ones like um...chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I think they even made special flavors with the local fruits around here." They were mostly water retaining fruits, so they would be pretty mild in flavor much like watermelons or honeydew from Earth. Niha liked them a lot but she knew some people had to get used to it. She finishes off her platter soon enough, setting her chopsticks aside. She didn't think she could eat another bite! Hopefully, Kuueru wouldn't need any help downing the rest of the meal. " If I can ask a question now, what kind of work do you? I mostly help out a dear friend with household chores and practice training myself when I can. I think if I had to pick a hobby of mine it'd have to be music. I like to sing, and I've been thinking about playing an instrument someday." When the sake is offered to her, she raises a brow and draws the dish closer to her. She couldn't remember the last time she tried alcohol before, in fact, she didn't think that she ever tried it! With the spirit in hand, she lifts it higher and joins Kuueru in the toast, " Cheers!" When in New Namek! She tilts the dish back and sips from it until she's drained it, expelling a harsh breath after she's finished. It burned going down and had a funny taste, but Niha liked the stuff! It left a funny feeling through her like she'd need to hold onto something to keep from drifting away from her body. " Oof, that hit the spot.." She giggles and rises to her feet when the food is all gone, stretching her arms above her head contently. " It'll be my pleasure! Our journey will start now, Kuueru! Let it be one remembered through the annals of time." She leaves the zeni on top of the counter to pay for her share of the meal, leading the way to the door with the other woman in tow. " If shopping is what you have in mind, then I have just the place we can stop by first!" Niha follows the streets until the pair comes across a trinket and jewelry store. She holds the door open for Kuueru and wanders in where they have a variety of sea-glass and clay inspired necklaces, rings, bracelets, and bangles in a sparkling array of styles and colors. " Do you like jewelry?" She asks, stopping by a display showing off a bottle necklace filled with tiny shells and the fine sand from the Namekian shorelines. " I think it's beautiful, but I've never really had much of it around." While some thrived eagerly on the rush of acquiring new things, Niha adored gathering experiences and not possessions. She much preferred getting a picture that she could look back on fondly than spending a lot of zeni on something she wanted on a whim. She knew that barring it having a special meaning attached to it, she would likely get bored of it in a couple of decades at most. WC: 891 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD "Oh, there are a few I can name, Earth has some expansive oceans, Zalt is one that's mostly water, and Hera has interesting clusters of islands, but there happens to be a lot of pirate activity there. The depths of the ocean are a mysterious and terrifying thing frankly," Kuueru replied, though when the demoness questioned the blue-haired woman's race she could clearly notice the look upon the other's face. Shock. Kuueru's brows furrowed before patting the smaller girl on the back a few hard times. It seemed she was choking on her food based on body language. "Whoaaa now. Can't have my tour guide killing over," Kuueru chuckled as soon as she noticed Niha was all right. Still, her question was answered rather vaguely. Although, Kuueru could find some semblance with her answer. A place really far away. Kuueru was just in the same predicament, though she would one day have to return, she had no intentions in the near future. At least they could have that in common. The woman went on to describe the flavors of ice cream and Kuueru felt herself enjoying the quaint conversation. It wasn't often she sat down with another person and it wasn't imperial business. To find herself on a weird planet talking about ice cream flavors was a nice change of pace. Still, Niha had some questions of her own, it was only fair that Kuueru answer them since she had begun the cross examination. "I erm, I actually work for the military. The First Galactic Empire to be more, specific." Kuueru had no shame in admitting her service to the Empire. Still, there were a lot of people who chose their words carefully for fear of judgement or retaliation. There was a lot of mixed feelings for the Empire, still, they had done a lot more good for the galaxy than bad. Unless you were a Saiyan when Polaris was ruling. Kuueru had actually began recruiting the race into her ranks with the absence of the late Emperor. She didn't see the reason for the discrimination. "A songstress, huh? A talent not many have, instruments are fun however." Kuueru was quite the siren herself. Though her songs would drive a person mad, not for the lack of a good voice either. In the almost eight centuries she had been alive, she had picked up quite the hobby, that is, when she wasn't fighting for her life in the Demon Realm. Kuueru chuckled as they made their cheers and began to leave the restaurant finally. Niha seemed to enjoy the sake, in fact, her attitude seemed to uplift tenfold. Perhaps it would even ease her nerves about being tour guide to a Demon. "Ohhh, lead the way miss Niha, let me spend some of the Empire money on something other than meals for once," Kuueru chuckled to herself and rose to her own feet. She walked behind the other woman, watching her feet carefully as they seemed to have a slight stagger to them. Still, the smaller girl only had one shot, it couldn't have done that much. Perhaps Kuueru was hallucinating? Niha stopped before a store, it seemed illustrious and upon it's storefront were jewels to signify its purpose. Niha held the door, so the demoness strode on in. There was a lot of local jewelry made from the materials and things of New Namek of course. Amongst that, there were also other imports for more off-worlder tastes. "Jewelry huh? You know, when I got out I tend to dress up. At work, I tend to be stuck wearing drab things." Kuueru smiled and wandered beside Niha as she looked at a bottle necklace that was filled with many fine shells and sand. It looked almost like a piece of jewelry for a child, perhaps it was a trinket or souvenir of the planet though. "Hmm, there's something quaint about it, that's for sure. Material things are funny, aren't they?" Kuueru replied somberly, her tired eyes looking over the eloquently lit displays. Most of the trinkets in this case were all homely at best. Surely for someone only living a lifetime of seventy to ninety years would hold onto this for a long time. "If you like something Niha, pick something out," Kuueru offered before making her way to some of the more cases. They displayed earrings, bracelets, rings and the like. This store carried a lot of things. Kuueru in particularly had her eyes on a pair of earrings. Despite her not having her ears pierced she figured it wouldn't be too difficult a task. "Hey, do you have your ears pierced? I…was thinking about it, but it seems like an inconvenience or pain."
A worker made their way towards the pink haired woman and smiled brightly at her interest. "Would you like to try something on?"
Kuueru smiled and waved a hand. If she wanted to buy something, she would simply do so. Surely everything in the store would fit upon her. She couldn't imagine any of the jewelry would be ugly either.

" Really? I know Earth is mostly covered in water, but I hadn't heard about the other two before. I'll have to try to visit! I guess I would have to be careful though, pirates sound like they could be pretty scary." When Kuueru helps her by patting her on the back, she flashes an appreciative smile her way before trying to ease her worries, " Heh, don't worry about it! I'm fine! And the Galatic Empire huh? They include the umm..." Niha has to pause for a moment to try to recall what she was trying to say. She snaps her fingers and finishes the thought, " The Galatic Patrol, right? My dear friend Abut used to be a part of it. Still, have their old uniform folded up out of the way. They got injured and retired a while ago. It's for the best, cause they're getting kind of slow lately. All they should have to worry about these days is taking it nice and easy." She fights back a hiccup from the sake and hides a giggling laugh behind her hand. Niha would nod her head in confirmation, " They really are. Even just learning them is more fun than being good at it sometimes. I think I'd pick something small with strings or a flute. And I dunno, I try to make things up when I can, but nothing I come up with on the spot is very good. Maybe if I put some more time or effort into it, it'd be better." She was used to the small little diddy or melody that helped make the time between traveling or training less quiet and dull for her. Sometimes the sounds of the birds and insects in the air weren't enough to keep her company. Kuueru would find that on the walk to the store, Niha would be a little unsteady on her feet, stumbling over a step here and there. For the most part, however, it would seem the young girl has decided to hover just inches off the ground. It was the perfect means of travel for when her heads felt lost in a sea of clouds. In the store, Niha turns the glass bottle over in her hand, careful to not damage any of the contents. She smiles over her shoulder at Kuueru and nods her head, " Aw, well, good to be prepared for the chances you get then! I used to have to dress up more formally than I do now...Now, I just try to pick what I think looks pretty." Back when she resided on the Other World, sometimes her elders would ask that they dress properly when taking their lessons and traveling. It made them stand out for their heritage and stood as a reminder that someday they would stand in the stead of one of the Supreme Kai overseeing their galaxy. She still had these formal garments, but they stood out amongst most planets' usual attire. Plus, it made it difficult to hold onto the down-to-earth lifestyle that Niha had grown most comfortable in. " Yeah.." Niha mumbles on the subject of material possession, retreating from her thoughts of home to set the bottle back down on the display. She turns to follow Kuueru to the back and join her in looking at some of the pricier displays. " Abut and I don't have much right now. A few clothes to spread out through the week, food when we can, and just enough places at home to sleep and eat at comfortably. Whenever I try to think about what I want versus what I need, I have a hard time deciding whether the 'wants' are worth splurging on at the moment." Her delicate fingers reach up to touch her ear lobe, her fingertips brushing over a small and barely noticeable hole in their center. She nods once and admits, " Yeah, it was something that was done a long time ago. Everyone my age at home ended up getting it done about the same time..." There was no denying that earrings were an important symbol of status on the Other World. While she chose to keep her more common ones she possessed out, it was just another thing that reminded one another of their positions or lack thereof. She wasn't even sure if hers functioned the same as the Kai or Supreme Kai's did, with the complications of Fusion added to their purposes, but she tried to keep all of her possessions from her homeworld guarded and safe. " You should definitely go for it! They would look stunning on you. If you're afraid of it hurting, I can tell you that it only takes a second and the sting lasts for a minute or two, then it's pretty normal. You'll have to wear them for the first couple of weeks to keep them from closing, but after that, you can take them out and it'll probably stay open until the next time you feel like dressing up." She shakes her head at the worker and reaches out to pick out a silver tear-drop necklace with a round opal gemstone set into the center-piece frame dotted with sparkling white gems. " I think I might get this one. I really like all the colors in this gem.." The way the shades of yellows, greens, and blues spread out across the milky pink surface was breath-taking to her and she had a difficult time comprehending how something so lovely could be undermined from the stone and dirt beneath their feet. It was a testament to what beauty the natural forces around them could make with enough luck and patience. WC: 940 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD It was easy to get lost in the nuances of a simple life. Kuueru had long been ingrained in the organized life and strict responsibilities of being a commanding officer within the Galactic First Empire. It was tiring, it was a regimen. Therefore, she truly enjoyed going out to eat, or shopping in her down time. It gave her a break to remember that she wasn't some sort of robot programmed to perform a bunch of tasks without issue. Kuueru strode through the mentions of the Galactic Patrol. Their existence was before her time on Earth, she had only been around for the Empire. However, she had heard of the reform and how many were disdainful about it. Many were resistant to change, it happened everywhere and with everything; work, policies, menus in restaurants. There was always going to be someone who goes against the tide and makes a big deal. Having said that, the Empire lost a lost of popularity, though, Polaris was looked at as a hero. Many followed him just due to that. He did fend off the 'killer' of the Galactic King. Even though no one knew that was indeed himself. A myriad of lies.
She snapped back to their walk, noting that Niha's stumbling had now turned to hovering. She smiled, the sake settling in her system finally. "I didn't have much before I joined the Empire either. My home world was, lacking in many a thing. Be it, food, supplies, even leisure," Kuueru replied with a somber smile as she glanced over the jewels in the cases once more. Niha explained that piercing one's ears wasn't completely horrible, and that young people of her race all did it in mass. If a small child could withstand the pain, she could surely. This coming from the woman who endured much worse bodily pain in her fights and missions. Hell, she had poles impaling her body in the past, and she was worried over a bit of cartilage and a tiny needle. Ironic. "Hn, I should get it done some time then. When I have more time," Kuueru beamed towards the blue haired woman with a glint in her eyes. Kuueru browsed and caroused for a bit longer, and Niha managed to spot something she liked as well. Kuueru settled on a few bangles and bracelets, she liked the way they hung on the wrist. Perhaps something about them added a bit of sass to her style. She had tried them on, the brilliant silvers and golds gleaming in the ambient light of the store. "Ahh, that's really nice though. You're right, the colors in it seem nice," Kuueru turned her attention to the attendant before point back towards Niha and her necklace. She placed the bangles on the counter. "All right, I'll take all of these, and the necklace that young lady is looking at please," Kuueru mumbled. "O-Oh! Why yes of course! One moment, let me just tally it up," The attendant spoke while punched a few numbers into a register before them. The number representing the total popped up for Kuueru to see, and she slid her Empire bank card across the counter to pay her dues. "We will wear them out, thanks," Kuueru chuckled before sliding the bangles back upon her wrist and motioning for the young-looking girl to head her way once she was completely satisfied with her shopping experience. She couldn't lie, she was ready for dessert at this point. "Sooo, you mentioned ice cream, right? I must say, I am feeling famished."
Kuueru, despite eating a plethora about twenty minutes earlier was now ready to eat once more. She once rivaled a Saiyan in the amount she could eat, it was silly really. Her eyes set on the strip of restaurants and shops waiting on Niha to guide her.

Niha nods her head, listening attentively to the bits and pieces that Kuueru shares with her about her life. She had to admit that she had some curiosity about where Kuueru came from too, but with the vague answer she gave earlier, it felt wrong to try to seek it with her. At least, there was something that they had in common when she took what was shared for what it was on the surface. They both didn't need much in their lives to survive or be happy people. " It makes things less complicated sometimes, you know? But yeah, I guess that there's a lot of people out there that would find that what should be available to everyone are only luxuries that are difficult to come by to them. I want to be able to help those people someday soon...maybe start up an organized relief effort..." She leans in to look at the bandles that Kuueru picks, nodding her approval at the selection. " Those are really beautiful. They look like something a dancer would wear in the stories I've read." It brought her mind back to the fantastical stories she would find about festivals hosted under hot desert nights where wealthy nobles and tired adventurers would get entertained by exotic performers that danced with snakes or fire at their call. Niha undoes the clasp on the back of the necklace and puts it around her neck, following Kuueru over to the counter where the attendant works. She's about to fish for her zeni to pay for her share but blinks in surprise when the other woman seems prepared to cover it on her card. " Are you...sure?" She asks her, before she makes a decision, " If you're going to cover this, then I'm going to treat us both at the next spot! No buts! I insist." It might be a lesser contribution, but she didn't want Kuueru to think that she was taking advantage of her generosity. Flying out of the store, Niha looks up and down the streets to figure out how they'll be getting to their next destination from here. Niha felt a new surge of excitement when she mentions the ice cream brought up before. She was hoping that her new friend would want to check it out. " Yes!" She cheers out, doing a small backward flip in the air, before starting to fly ahead to lead the trail for Kuueru, " The ice cream shop is just this way!" After a couple of turns off some branching streets, Niha eventually comes to a stop outside of another small shop building. The sign hanging overhead is a cone of ice cream being held by a small drawn depiction of a Namekian with their eyes closed and tongue sticking out in an eager expression. She opens the door to a small chime and wanders over to look over the glass counter at the various selections. Many of the tubs they have are vibrant in color, while other flavors are more muted creamy tones of white or beige. "Hi, welcome to New Namek Nummies, how can we help you today?" An Earthling waitress greets them after they come in standing in front of the cash register with a uniform that consists of a green and white striped pastel apron and a small paper hat folded neatly on top of her dark hair. It was pretty obvious that the local Namekians didn't seem to frequent this place, but there were a handful of tourists that stayed to enjoy the sweet decadent treats. Niha double-checks that Kuueru is still with her, before she reminds her, " Remember, this is my treat for us. So, pick out whatever you want!" She looks down and pokes a finger against the glass over one simply labeled Salted Caramel. " I think I'll try this one out this time." When both she and Kuueru are ready to place their orders, Niha starts to get the money out to cover it, " Hi! Yes, umm, one scoop of salted caramel in a cone with some marshmallow pieces on top and whatever my new friend is having!" " Right away miss!" She tells Niha, starting to scoop out the order and passing it over to the both of them when it's ready. Niha flies cautiously to carry the precarious stack of a mini-marshmallow pile over to a small cafe-style table set against the far wall. This would be much easier if Niha had just gotten it in a bowl, but Niha liked eating the ice cream soaked cones more than anything else! Thankfully only one marshmallow that she manages to catch and cram into her mouth is lost and she's able to claim her seat. She licks her ice cream with quick laps of her tongue, chomping down on the spongey marshmallows when she passes by them. She loved the way the sea-salts added to the caramel toned down the sweet, rich sugared notes of the caramel. In between licks, she returns to talking pleasantly with Kuueru, " I'm having a blast so far! It's really nice to meet new people, you know. I run into people out here a lot when I help Abut sell his herbal wares, but they rarely stay and talk to me. Do you end up meeting a lot of people when you travel? Do you have any advice for better relating to people on other planets?" In reality, Niha was great at trying to empathize with others, so trying to blend in and adjust to other lifestyles was easy to her. The problem she was still struggling to cope with was trying to avoid standing out like a sore thumb while she was trying to experience other cultures. WC: 951 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD Kuueru wished to share more if she honestly could. Most of the time however, revealing tidbits about her upbringing or past caused more chaos than it did good. She had learned better during her time in the mortal realm. She had learned just how rare of a sight a Demon was, and truly what their presence meant to mortals alike. When her kind showed up, it was usually filled with chaos, malice and disdain. That's not to say that Kuueru was a perfect peach though. Deep within her soul, there was a want to cause mischief and ruffle the feathers of the masses. But just like those feelings and urges, there were others that resulted in times like this. Time where she spent making friends, enjoying her days, and being content with the orderly lifestyle of an officer in the military. She had changed greatly amongst these mortals. Perhaps she had even discovered who Kuueru truly was. Her gaze softened as she listened to Niha speak. She was a pure heart, something that the demoness had sensed the moment they crossed paths. Perhaps it was due to her demonic nature that she felt the clash of warmth in the air. Still, she had no direct reason to dislike a person of Niha's aura. In fact, for some odd reason she enjoyed the woman's company. The blue haired woman complemented her choices in jewelry, even comparing the bangles to something that a dancer would adorn and dance before the masses in. She would be sure to wear them during her next battle, to her it was all a performance after all. Fighting and the art of dancing were not too dissimilar, in fact, there was a skill, training, and art to both; the prowess did not resonate in an amateur, that much was for sure. "Don't worry about it, I have more than enough Zeni to splurge," Kuueru once again reassured the other woman, who quickly retorted that she would handle the bill of the next affair. The pink haired woman nodded, her hand waving before she grabbed her receipts and followed the woman out the store. Niha flew, so Kuueru followed suit, hovering off the ground and mimicking the other. It was a turn here and there, and ultimately there were at the shop. "I've never tried this stuff, I'm eager to see what flavors they have. . ." Kuueru's voice was wary, but excitement intertwined with her words. Once they were inside of New Namek Nummies, Niha quickly made her way towards the service counter. The host was an Earthling, something that Kuueru was used to and modeled her own disguise after. She took note of Niha's order, and the style. Upon the board she saw a note about the ways to order. Cups and Cones. Both sounded unique and useful in their own sense. She then looked down towards the plethora of flavors and rainbow of colors. There were so many, all ranging in different profiles of taste. Kuueru had heard of some of the more popular flavors in her time in the mortal realm; things like chocolate, vanilla, even strawberry resonated. She was unsure of cookies and cream, but assumed it tasted of what it sounded. There was even something named after a drink of green tea. Kuueru mentally gagged, before perusing the rest of the ice cream case carefully. Java chip ice cream?
That sounded decadent. "I'll try this one, the Jah-vuh chip, sounds enticing. May I have it in a bowl with a cone on top?" Perhaps an odd request, but the woman could see how the snack could be messy in the rather in the warm temperatures of New Namek. It had three suns after all. The woman behind the counter handed both the ladies the orders and quickly took the payment from Niha. Afterwards, the woman floated her way towards the table and had a seat. Kuueru followed just after grabbing a plastic spoon for her dessert. "Wow, they give you a lot here, luckily I have a good appetite if you couldn't tell already!" Kuueru chuckled and took a seat opposite of Niha. From there, she dug into the brown looking heap of frozen desert. Kuueru was a frost demon, so enjoying cold treats was something particularly special for her. It was a wonder she hadn't tried ice cream yet. She took a big spoonful and raised it to her lips. To her it felt like a decent temperature upon her palate. It melted slowly, the taste of coffee and chocolates meeting her tongue. It was a nice flavor, yet distinct. Kuueru smiled and began to take more and more bites, sometimes she would even scoop up some with the cone and take a crunchy bite. "Wow, this is nice! Very nice! I've had coffee a few times in my life, but this makes it rather enjoyable!" Kuueru reviewed the flavor whilst eating with Niha. "I'm glad you're having fun. I rarely get a chance to meet new people, well, outside of my work that is. Lasting relationships aren't something I really have." Kuueru chuckled while sucking on the spoon to savor her treat. That's when the other woman asked her of advice. "Relating huh? I suppose that, I'm probably not the best to ask. Still, so long as you treat others with respect and kindness it seems to have worked in my experience at least. Integrity, right? Have a lot of that," Kuueru paused, her lavender eyes locking onto the other as she had an important question to ask. "Tell me Niha, how long have you been amongst these people? I don't mean the Namekians, but—mortals alike?"

The corner of Niha's lip tugs up into a mischievous smile, "Nothing wrong with eating well!" She looks down and pats her stomach lightly, " Sometimes it feels like I'm always ready to eat. It drives Abut crazy sometimes, his Namekian stomach was used to mostly water before I showed up. At least...I think that they have stomachs. Maybe just ones different to ours..." She paused long enough to wonder about the Namekian physiology. She had learned about how they laid eggs since coming here and how there aren't really males or females when it came to their people. However, that was really the most that came up so far. Niha shakes her head and finishes her train of thought, " But lucky I've started training a lot more than I used to, so that's a good thing! Need to eat to get the energy. Can burn the energy and get to eat more after. Win-win!" Part of her wondered if that was why she didn't really physically mature as well as others. She always had excess energy even before she started to focus it on something productive. She was always running or flying to get to places and loved to jump and dance around. Niha lifts the cone up to start to nibble on the softening edges of it, the light crunchy treat already soaking up a lot of the ice cream. Maybe Niha should have asked for two scoops instead! " Mmm, never been much into coffee. It's pretty bitter. But after lots of cream and sugar, then I can usually tolerate it. Maybe I'd like it more in ice cream form..." Really, after the amounts that Niha dumped into the cup, it would be better classified as coffee flavored cream by most coffee snobs. Leaning in when Kuueru starts to gather her advice, Niha nods her head along to show that she was still listening. She was attentive and absorbing the information like an eager sponge thirsty for knowledge. So far, she had met a lot of people, all very different. It was interesting to her to learn how they all dealt with some of the daily struggles of trying to maintain a healthy social life and tricks they've learned to do it along the way. " Integrity.." Niha mumbles, trailing off to pick apart that word in her thoughts. She liked to think that she tried to do everything that Kuueru mentioned when it came to meeting people, but something stood out about that trait. The irony wasn't lost on Niha that sitting here and enjoying herself would be the exact opposite of integrity depending on who you asked. A divine being dining and laughing with someone that carried the signs of the chaotic energy of the demonic realm seemed to be a picture-perfect definition of living a lie. It made Niha wonder if a lie led in good intentions was any better than a lie made out of spite? In her ethical dilemma, Niha's eyes meet Kuueru and she pauses mid-bite of ice cream when the question was asked. She had known all along? It made sense the more that Niha thought about it. If she could tell that Kuueru was nearly her opposite within the first moments of meeting her then, of course, she would be able to do the same for her. Niha breathes out a faint sigh and folds her arms on top of the table to give the question proper thought. " I can't remember if it's two or three years now. Heh, it kind of blurs together..." She tells Kuueru honestly, " It...hasn't been that long to me, relatively speaking." Chewing on the inside of her cheek she goes on to apologize, " I'm sorry I didn't say it before when you asked me about where I came from...I thought that maybe you wouldn't want me to be your tour guide if you knew for sure. And well...the last person I admitted it to, well, they made a pretty big fuss about it and had a lot of demands for me that I couldn't help them with." She licks her ice cream and recounts to Kuueru, " They assumed that I was one of the Kai and could see their destiny on a whim and push their powers to new heights with a flick of the wrist. I'm not...really one of them. I'm not really much of anything if we're speaking the truth." Niha's words hang in the air to let silence settle between them before she turns the question back to Kuueru hesitantly, " What about you? Has it been long for you and do people usually act as...weird when they find out who you are?" She may have been a little disappointed that her supposed secret was put out there, but it did feel like a major relief. If the other woman accepted her just as Niha had after she had known the truth, then maybe they would be able to find new common territory with one another. Niha imagined that it couldn't be easy for someone with such a powerful presence to try to find peace in her downtime. It could be the first real step in trying to mend the divide that plagued both of their kinds. WC: 872 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD Kuueru finally broke the air with the question at least. She was tired of pretending and keeping things out of the conversation that weren't going to matter too much anyway. What kind of person would she be to judge Niha based on her birthright anyhow? If anything, Kuueru would be able to relate to the young Shinjin, after all, Kuueru could have ended up in her shoes if things didn't grow chaotic in her heart. Kuueru, just like Niha was born of the fruit of the tree of life. While Niha remained golden, and ultimately matured into the potential of a future kai, Kuueru was outcast into the realm of demons to mutate and become what she was today. While she managed to balance her two halves and resemble a somewhat normal person, sometimes the two extremes of those sides managed to gain the upper hand, resulting in brash bouts of rage and anger, or in contrast, her being kind as she was to the other woman now. "I don't think a lot of coffee myself, but this is rather sweet! I like it a lot!" Kuueru smiled, biting into the chocolatey coffee flavored ice cream with a smile. She enjoyed listening to the daily happenings of others and how they went about their lives. It was a stark contrast to a day in the life of a demon in her home realm. There, there was more fighting for your life and what you had than leisurely eating ice cream or tending to fields like Abut. Still, Niha didn't seem to be phased much by the demoness asking how long she had been here. Kuueru smiled. At least she didn't have to worry about making the other uncomfortable. Quite the opposite happened in fact. The woman continued munching on her cone as she answered Kuueru's questions. "Ahh, a bit longer than me it seems. Still, when you live so long, the years do seem like days or minutes." "Don't worry about it though, I wouldn't want to force you to say anything about it. Especially not to someone who feels like me right?" Kuueru dug her spoon idly through the ice cream as it began to melt. She would have to indulge at a faster pace before her dessert turned into a portable milkshake. "Oh yeah? I'm sorry to hear about that though. Haha, people have all these preconceptions about are kind yes? We are either divine healers who can perform kai given miracles. Or you could be like me, a demonic evil that strikes fear into anyone who feels my wrath." The last line made her crack up a bit. While she liked to pretend it wasn't true, her power was tremendous compared to most. That compared with the chill it left in the air just screamed bad mojo. It's why most tucked tail and ran as far as they could from Kuueru. She had long since learned to suppress her power and not mention the D word. "I've only been here a year actually. In that short time, I've actually accomplished a lot amongst these mortals," Kuueru paused while thinking about how to answer Niha's set of questions, "And yes, people act supremely weird. I'm not sure if it's because of my level of strength, or the way my aura feels. Usually they get more freaked out when I tell them that I'm a . . . demon"
Kuueru looked around the shop before she admitted the last tidbit. She didn't need to cause a scene, not when she hadn't even finished her cone yet. "Still, I make it a point not to judge people based on things like that. Not all Shinjin are perfect, not all demons are fucking reckless and wreak havoc. You get the idea."
With a sigh she managed to chomp down a good portion of her ice cream cone. She sopped up a bit of the melted java chip flavor and let her eyes wander up towards the woman. "I am curious about what it was like for you. Being raised there. How different it must have been. I always heard tales about the Shinjin and their lives of tea and glory, I'm sure it was a stark contrast from what my upbringing was like. I could be wrong though, it could have been horrible for you. You seem rather chipper though, perhaps you haven't experienced the pain and turmoil that people like I have."Kuueru chuckled and drank up the rest of her ice-cream that had melted. "I don't hold it against you though! It's just the way the cookie crumbles. If I didn't end up so janky maybe I'd be in your place?"
It was an odd comment. Not all demons were like Kuueru. After all, half of her DNA was that similar to Niha's. She was a divine being, yet hellish all in the same moment. "Why New Namek? You must have no ambitions of being a Kai then, eh?"

" Yeah, and I'm not even that old yet, so can't imagine how much worse it'll get after five hundred or so." Niha whole-heartedly agrees with Kuueru. She manages to whittle the cone down to the bottom and pops the last of it in her mouth to crunch on. It was the best part to Niha when the melted ice cream pooled to make the perfect filling. She chews on her bite, shaking her head and saying, " Don't worry about how you might feel. I got to admit, it felt...weird being around you at first. Does get you nervous." Her hand brushes against her own arm while she treads about the subject with caution, " But you're nice. So, I'm happy that I didn't let it get in the way of making friends with you." She ends up scratching the back of her neck, letting her gaze drop down to the table in front of her. She hoped that wouldn't get taken the wrong way. Soft laughter accompanies Kuueru's own, and Niha shakes her head with a warm smile. It was funny the extremes that both of their sides had to deal with from the mortals, including the outlandish requests. " I mean, I have been learning to heal from the Namekians.." She allows after her laughter fades, " But I don't think my talents could match theirs quite yet. It'll take some more time." Niha turns her head to make sure that people weren't going to try interrupting their conversation or try to start a panic. Demon or not, she wasn't going to let a stranger come in and make Kuueru feel bad about who she was when she's done nothing wrong to them. The lengths that she used to fit in were becoming more obvious to Niha, and she appreciated the fact that she tried to reign in her power rather than let its true form unsettle the local populace. The Shinjin bows her head, " I do. I've told people before that our kind can be far from perfect and that we are not faultless beings. To stay true to our paths requires as much work as it takes out of any mortal creature." Her eyes drift to the ceiling after Kuueru gently presses for more information about where she grew up. It was true that Niha did not know much of pain and suffering personally, but she did seem glimpses of tragedy through studying under the Kai and coming down to live with the mortals helped acquaint her with the idea of it. " You'd be sort of right. And that's not a far off estimate. There are beautiful clouds up there and we have the loveliest gardens that bloomed these flowers that smelled like heaven. We sort of had everything we needed from food to reading to comfortable shelters." Niha breathes out a fond sigh at the memories the recounting stirs for her. She needed to stop herself before it seemed like she was rubbing these amenities in the other woman's face. She knew how hard it must have been for Kuueru if she spent most of her life growing up in the demonic realm. " It was quiet up there. We had our routines. It isn't the same as it is down here. Down here, things feel more real. It's not like you're watching things from a snow globe you have no control over..." She does lift a brow from Kuueru's phrasing of it, and she glances around before she leans in to ask her, " You came from fruit from the Kaiju tree too?" A knot twisted in her stomach and a pang touched her heart. She hated the stories of her people being cast down whether their conception differed from the norm or they made the wrong decisions in their time of living. It felt like such a harsh punishment for the ones that were their family. Niha knew that there had to be other ways of dealing with circumstances like that, even if she wasn't sure what they were now. She wanted to think that it could be just as simple as teaching them or reaching out to them with kind words to pull them away from the abyss they treaded dangerously around with logic and reason. Alas, these were complex issues that might take Niha centuries before she begins to properly understand or correct them. " I'm...not sure why New Namek. I wandered for a while in space. Saw the challenges some people faced...but when I got to New Namek, I met Abut. They sort of inspired me. They made me feel like if I keep training hard and hold onto what I believe in, that I could help lots of people just like they did when they were younger." That question was easy enough for Niha to answer, but the second question is met more tentatively, " I do have aspirations. I would be lying if I said that I didn't want to live up to the destiny that's been planned for me someday. When that time comes, I want to be ready for it. I want...people to be able to look up to me and realize that not everything I know comes from the texts and silently observing alone. While I'm here, I'm going to help people that are hurting and try to...put myself through new experiences that will hopefully make me wiser as time goes on.." WC: 899 Queen Kuueru

ICE COLD "I'm relieved. I assumed something was off when we first met, my aura is kind of hard to ignore. I do try my best to tuck it away, sometimes it's just too much. I've been alive a short time in the span of a demon I suppose, around eight centuries almost. I've had a lot of time to train, grow and build myself up for any threat that comes my way. I won't lie and say I've never done bad things; however, since coming to this realm, my deeds have been on the good side."Kuueru exhaled sharply as Niha explained her intrigue in learning healing techniques from the Namekians. She found it odd that she chose them of all the races; she figured the Shinjin people had some secret techniques that could fix someone up like a senzu bean. Perhaps she was just jumping to conclusions though based on the other's comment. Niha went on to explain about her home world. Kuueru didn't think it sounded as if she were gloating. No, quite the opposite in fact. She spoke of her section of Otherworld truly. Kuueru tried not to relive her own home world however, it lacked in the nice aspects such as flowers that smelled of heaven and poofy clouds. In stark contrast the stench of sulfur burned the nares. The clouds were there, but gloomy and rust colored. Demons ran rampart and killed anything in sight that was weaker than them, and usually, only the strong survived. Kuueru had fought and fought. Still, how many of her brethren did she see falter and succumb to the turmoil of the land. Kuueru smiled, her finger lapping up the last bits of melted ice cream she could before setting her cup towards the middle of the table. This day had been fun, and a learning experience to say the least. "Yes, I was a fruit, but before I was ever born they must have decided that, something was off about me; that was why I was cast out. I'm sure there are many like me as well, those who don't meet the qualifications to . . . do what you do," Kuueru's eyes shifted towards the table. It was hard to express in words. Being outcasted for being imperfect. Being something without a chance at life, but still having to go through the pain of living in such a world. It wasn't easy; perhaps it was even a test of the higher Gods. Either way, Kuueru persevered and made herself a better person because of those circumstances. "Well, at least you somewhat want to fulfill your destiny. I would say, coming down here to walk among mortal would make you all the more qualified. At least you stepped out of that comfort zone to learn more of the people. That's admirable Niha," Kuueru paused after her words, trying to figure out what to say next. Whatever were her aspirations? She could ask the woman about her own, but not be able to answer herself? "I'm just trying to grow stronger; perhaps it's a primal thing, perhaps it's dumb. I enjoy fighting, I enjoy my role in the military, and I enjoy shocking people with my raw power. Perhaps its vane, but---It gives me something to work for that I will never obtain."It was true, despite the milestones that the demoness kept hitting, she never once stopped. She kept persevering through it all, growing in power with each day and each mission. Kuueru quickly stood, taking her trash to the bin before turning with Niha with a friendly smile. "I really should be going soon. This has been an amazing guide though, I'll be sure to visit when I have more time Niha, thank you." Kuueru waved towards the blue haired woman, her eyes shifting towards the door. Still, she didn't plan on using it, instead; she shifted from view, her body hurdling back through space and time as she returned to her planet of Hollow.

" Eight hundred, huh? You've been around a lot longer than me then." Niha tells Kuueru, sounding impressed. She could never see herself surviving in the demonic realm for more than a week if it ever came to that. If Kuueru hasn't been in the mortal realm for very long like she said earlier, then that's at least seven centuries where she had to live amongst the fire, brimstone, or the icy tundras of Hell. It must have been pure misery for someone coming into the world not knowing anything else. " I never really understood the process behind making those decisions.." She confessed to Kuueru with a gentle frown, " I haven't really been able to see any fruit of my kin being born by the Kaiju in person...it can be a rare occurrence and only really seems to happen when it might be needed. I think that I might actually be one of the youngest of my people, at least, it was that way before I left." Saying that out loud made Niha wonder if it really was a rare miracle that happened once every few centuries or so, or if her elders were just picky about which of her brothers or sisters would be able to make the cut. Her shoulder twitches up to shrug and her gaze drifts down again. " But...it doesn't feel very fair. I think that you are plenty qualified to be given a chance among us, you know? Or at least, I've always thought that it's something that could be taught not just...thrown away. I'm sorry that you weren't given that chance..." She sighs, lifting her hand to pinch the bridge of her nose between her fingers to knead there. The thought of it almost made Niha want to cry, but she knew that it was too late for tears right now. The only thing that can be done from here on, was to move forward so that she could try to stand up for the future generations. " Thank you." Niha gratefully murmurs when Kuueru offers her support, it was the exact reasoning that she was going for when she left her home. She was glad that someone else could understand without thinking her foolish for breaking free from the norm the Kai before her had laid down with their past service. "I don't want to hide away from the truth, even if it tends to make things easier and more pleasant. Doing this hopefully makes it easier for me to face what others of my kind turn their backs on out of ignorance or fear.." She listens to Kuueru reason through her urge to grow stronger, considering it quietly. It wasn't one of Niha's goals per se, but she could understand the reasons behind it. She grew stronger in order to protect others that couldn't, and she didn't care much if there were others out there who took this drive to new heights. If she did better than she did yesterday, that would be enough for her. " I don't think that it's a stupid urge at all. It is a goal that's constantly moving and there will always be other people to try to beat out. You've found a place where you fit in and you want to do your best at it. That's pretty noble and respectable if you ask me. I hope that you find a lot of success in your line of work." She watches Kuueru rise to her feet, offering her a warm smile after she returns. " It was my pleasure! I hope that I shared what makes New Namek special. If you ever want to hang out again, I'm not too hard to find around here!" She starts to lift her hand to wave but looks around when Kuueru seems to disappear from the restaurant out of nowhere. She had to learn travel tricks like that someday. It would make going from planet to planet a lot easier than hunting down a space-ship to catch a ride on. Niha stands up and heads out of the restaurant. She wanted to return to Abut to tell them about what happened and think on some of the lessons and questions the long talk had left sitting with her. It helped her to feel like she was going in the right direction, but it left her realizing that she still had a lot to learn overall. Maybe when she did return home, it would not hurt to share her thoughts more and try to inspire some change in the Other World. Nothing overwhelming, but if it could help give good people like Kuueru a proper chance in life, then it was worth trying to work towards it. WC: 784 Queen Kuueru
