Location: Sasebo, Amenbo Island. Located Nine Kilometers from South City. Sasebo, Amenbo Island. An island located off the coast of the Southern Continent, with Sasebo as it's capital city. An island city of little import in the greater scheme of Earth history, and of even smaller importance in the span of the greater galaxy. However, a single event marked this city apart from the rest, and was partly the reason the Android was here on this day. This was the sight of the arrival of Androids 19 and 20, creations of the legendary Doctor Gero, the "mad" scientist responsible for the creation of the galactic threat known as Cell. There were even reports from various historians that concluded that the artificial intelligence known as Android 20 was known to be Doctor Gero himself, converted into an Android, however that little tidbit of history was debated heavily amongst historians. Kaijin was, unsurprisingly, a fan of the good doctor's work. Given that he himself was an Android replicated and based off the original designs of Gero, Kaijin found himself developing an automatic attraction to the man's studies, and developed a little side project amongst his plethora of science projects. He wished to discover Doctor Gero's old research. To his knowledge, the good doctor's laboratory, with most of his creations and research, was destroyed by the Z Fighters a good five centuries ago. Those no good heathens. Don't know what good science was if it hit them in the face. Nevertheless, Kaijin was a firm believer of the theory that Doctor Gero truly possessed multiple laboratories. After all, the man was a famed scientist for the infamous Red Ribbon Army, which was as much a plight on the Earth history as Gero was in the grand scheme of things. However, as a funded and well paid researcher for the militant organization, he was bound to have multiple research lab across the reach of old Red Ribbon Territory. Not only that, but who was to say that Doctor Gero did not utilize multiple laboratories throughout the course of his self-imposed exile? Decades had passed between the moment of the fall of the RRA, and the re-emergence of Doctor Gero. The one that was found in mountains of North City, that couldn't have been the only one. Not for a man as brilliant as he. Gero had to had had a contingency plan, in the case that his plans were foiled prematurely due to outside interference. He had to have some sort of storage place for his research. There was no possible way the good doctor had placed all of his cards on the table in his first move against the Z Fighters. And Kaijin was determined to find such hideouts. He planned to find the research. Even if the designs were outdated, it was more out of personal satisfaction then anything else. If there were any designs that he could possibly use, and improve upon to work with modern day technology, then excellent. But at least the Android would have the closure he so desired, so that he could close the book on a man he respected enough to call his idol. And what better place to look then the start of it all? The start of the conflict known as the terror of the Androids? Flying silently through air, the Android exhibited no energy signature whatsoever. As customary with most Androids, Kaijin possessed artificial energy systems, stemming from a limitless energy core, not the natural organic Ki that most organic beings possessed. It certainly provided its' benefits when it came to battle, for foes who were used to detecting their foes through Ki Sensing, rather than through application of the proper five senses. It was always so entertaining, the few times he actually engaged in battle scenarios, to see the surprised look on the faces of his foes when he spontaneously appeared out of seemingly nowhere, when in reality they just weren't paying attention. Anyways, back to priorities. Dropping from the sky like a fly, Kaijin descended upon Sasebo City like a fly that had just been swatted out of the sky by a human hand. When he hit the surface, the pavement underneath his feet split and cracked, upturning debris of various sizes. "WHAT THE HELL?!" A driver of a large truck screamed as he suddenly clamped down hard on the wheel and turned it violently to the right, causing the the truck to swerve violently in accordance. A dozen or so cars moved in tandem, reacting to the sudden disturbance in the road, a few cars in particular ramming into others cars, a special little driver slamming into a stop sign, of all things. "Ah, a shame....I was hoping to arrive unnoticed..." The doctor lamented, sighing lightly as he rose a hand to his forehead, as if incredibly weary of his own folly. In his haste to land, he had decided to make a crash landing in the middle of a busy four way intersection, blocking traffic in under five seconds and causing a series of accidents. "A miscalculation than can be rectified." Kaijin spoke once more to himself, after a few moments of assessing the situation. Post Count: 870 | zarun

It wasn't so hard to just keep to yourself, once you started putting effort into it.
Zarun had been doing just that. Even for someone who usually thrived best when he met others (particularly those with high power levels), the young Saiyan was starting to understand that he was better off not sticking his nose in business that it didn't belong. More than that, he was better off not interacting with others. Not just because he was someone who generally didn't fit in with Earth culture, by a massive margin at that, he was just as likely to accidentally crush someone's bones as he was to give them a friendly, yet firm handshake. It wasn't that he had no control over his strength; it was just difficult. Not difficult because it was so great or anything, but because it was growing so much faster than usual. He'd spent a long time, most of his life in fact, growing in power and strength at a relative snail's pace. He had been almost the exact same power for most of his young life, until a creature on his homeworld had damn near ripped him in half. He was pretty sure he still had all the scars from that, so he'd never forget, so he would always carry that fight with him. Then, after coming to Earth, things had changed. Not all at once, mind you. Originally, he had just been sitting around in forests and in arid tundras, waiting for someone to fight as nobody turned up for so long. Finally, he'd gotten sick of it, and gone out looking for a scrap, for anyone that he could pick any kind of a fight with.
He'd definitely foudn one, even if it wasn't the sort of battle that he was actually expecting, nor what he was hoping for. He'd found a little Majin girl, one who had more power than him tenfold. One who was happy to try a game with him, and instead of just playing it normally, she only played at full power. She was fully in control, almost at an instinctive level, able to manipulate Ki to a level that he hadn't even dreamed of. Her power had just made him pine more to get strength faster, to climb up the ladder at a speedier pace, to have the opportunity to battle great warriors across the galaxy and experience what it was like to encounter truly amazing opponents. He almost never got the opportunity. He'd given in to his instincts, he'd let himself get caught up in the idea of fighting against something that far outclassed him, whose power eclipsed his own. He had tried to put up or shut up against the Majin, and he'd paid the price for it. In their 'game', he'd almost just gone and died. That was it, though. That was what he had needed all along, and he just didn't realise it. That near-death experience somehow jettisoned his strength, making him far more powerful than he'd ever been before. It had kickstarted his systems, in some strange way.
Ever since then, he'd been rapidly growing in strength. Rather than just having the one power boost from a single incident, he kept getting stronger and stronger. He was convinced now that the Majin girl must have done something to him when she healed him with her magic, when she somehow made him better than ever. Had he simpy had some physical limitation, a blocker that prevented him from gaining strength that she had fixed, or was this just something closer to a mental block, some kind of psychological way in which he would trip himself up, preventing him from doing what was really needed to gain power? Honestly, he found it hard to tell anymore. It felt like he would never know or find out, that he was just being stupid wondering it. The Saiyan flew quietly through the clouds, far above the shimmering water below. Earth was many things, but was hard to argue that it wasn't a pretty planet. Every time he looked at it, he found something else that he enjoyed seeing, a view that he could relax while he watched it,while he saw things move on. Even as a warrior who strived to get more and more battle out of anything and everything he could - he could respect those quiet times, when everything was relaxed, and he was in a better state of mind. It was those points that made him feel more like he could handle being a warrior, and maybe handle being something else, too.
Suddenly, he heard a crash. Even for how high up he was flying, he could hear the mass amount of accidents happening below on Amenbo Island. There were cars, those weird metal contraptions that Earthlings used to travel, slamming into each other. Even as he looked down, he noticed that people were getting themselves hurt by slamming into things or each other. What were they doing? It didn't make any sense for them to just go out of their way to cause themselves harm like that. Zarun began to float downwards towards the intersection, staying upright as he did and just watching the scene unfold. Floating just a bit above the wreckage and carnage, he wondered what could've possibly caused it. He stopped wondering the moment he spied the man standing right in the middle of it all, who looked a bit upset with the situation, but not too distressed.
"Hey, wait..." He muttered to himself. Something was off about this guy. For starters, he was standing in the middle of traffic, and he did look kind of weird, but that wasn't really his place to judge, so he wasn't going to bring that part up. It wasn't as though he could talk about fashion sense, anyway. All he did was walk around in his armour when it came to figuring out what to wear and how to dress himself. He aproached the odd-looking individual, still floating slightly as he crossed his arms, leaning his body over and poking his face out closer to the stranger's. "What're you doing in the middle of traffic? Why can't I sense you?" He wondered if he was obvious as not being an Earthling; he figured he could easily pass for one. He didn't have any real cosmetic differences to them, though physically he was totally different. The flying part might make it obvious, though. Most Earthlings couldn't fly. After all, that was why they were trying to drive cars!

He had no desire to stand in traffic all day. The incident was unfortunate, but there was nothing he could do about it. He merely had to make sure to pay better attention next time, and not allow his feelings to get the best of him, not that that was hard, for this was one of the few scenarios in which his excitement actually did get the best of anything the good doctor did.
Kaijin never was for his intense fashion sense. He was commonly seen in two forms: His lab coat, or his "casual wear"....and very rarely in his superhero pajamas, because that was certainly appropriate for an Android, who had the full appearance of a strange looking teenage boy, to wear. Nonetheless, today he just so happened to be sporting his casual wear, which just so happened to be a fairly long blue overcoat with a fur rimmed hood. His sleeves sported a multicolored floral pattern, his red earrings and hairpins hidden beneath his hair proving to match his eyes in their intense red color. It looked somewhat nice, but it was more for comfort and functionality, rather than fashion quality. Besides, it had pockets for his flasks of hot chocolate, which was first priority.
And then came the Saiyan.
It had only been several minutes, and already his plan for a quiet several hour long search for a super secret laboratory that may or may not exist in this city, had been compromised. It exhibited a level of unprofessionalism that was most unlike the good doctor. He was almost disappointed in himself for such a performance so far, and made it a point to pay more attention next time. Yet, perhaps this wasn't such a loss afterall.
Appearance wise, there were few differences between Saiyans and the humans that populated this planet. However, in Kaijin's travels he had come across a particular Saiyan prior, albeit he was one amongst many different people in that one scenario. Nonetheless, he had saved the man's diagnostic scan to his database to use as a standard for all of his race, and as Kaijin's 3D Diagnostic Scan lit across his field of vision and locked onto Zarun, Kaijin found the man's physical biology to match aspects of that saved diagnostic, the similarities proving concise enough to successfully deem the man a Saiyan.
And what use did Saiyans offer to the good doctor?
The Saiyan himself? Very little. His DNA? So much. The mere thought of what Saiyan DNA could do for his studies in bio engineering. It made him very near giddy. One could easily think the man quite strange for his fascination with the accumulation of DNA, however the good doctor was constantly searching for new avenues for his science to take him. New methods to create new, artificial life. Saiyans were renown throughout history for their outstanding combat prowess and ability to grow stronger in battle. If Kaijin was to one day go through with his plans for the universe, there would be resistance against his methods. He'd need soldiers loyal to him, and capable enough to get the job done. Bio enhanced amalgamations, genetically engineered with traits geared for battle superiority and hyper intelligence. The ultimate soldier, the super soldier.
Yet, it all had to start somewhere.
So, he had to do what anyone would do when faced in a situation such as this. Ask.
"Good morning, Saiyan." Kaijin greeted, placing a bandaged hand over his right breast.
"To answer your question, you cannot sense me because I am an Android, an artificial creation with an artificial energy bank, the like of which does not flow as natural Ki does, thus you will not sense any life essence from me, although I am perfectly capable of detecting you."
"I am Doctor Kaijin Vex, a pleasure to meet you. Now, would you like to donate your DNA for science?" He spoke as the Android slowly began to levitate in air, his feet lifting off the ground as he brought himself to eye level with the Saiyan, his unblinking red eyes meeting Zarun's

Yeah, now that he got closer, this guy definitely did look a bit weird.
He certainly wasn't an Earthling, which was something Zarun could tell immediately. He had unusual, almost alabaster pale skin, which was kind of worrying in itself, if only because it tended to indicate a distinct lack of getting any sun. More than that, though - his skin had this sheen to it, in a way. Zarun got the feeling that it was something most people wouldn't notice, if that was even something that was there at all. Maybe the light was making him look more odd than he actually did, which Zarun could also believe. Well, ignoring his skin for the moment, there was more of him that just didn't look Earthling certified. They could start with the incredibly intense red eyes that he was sporting, whoever 'he' was in this instance. Zarun understood that even he stood out somewhat from Earthlings with his incredibly dark eyes, something that from what he'd been told, was a Saiyan thing. Humans seemed to have brighter and generally friendlier appearances, unlike the sometimes angular and harsh looking features of the Saiyan warrior race. He liked that about them, though. They were different, and distinct. Besides, it made sense that a warrior race would come out looking intimidating, as opposed to the more amicable Earthlings, who were better at stuff like diplomacy and inventing. Besides, he thought Saiyans looked better, overall. From the very few he'd seen, from a long distance.
Even beyond all those weird physical features, it was the distinct lack of Ki he gave out that put Zarun off the most. Almost every living thing had some semblance of Ki in it; even completely untrained Earthlings who tended to be very hard to detect or something like a small animal had that same living energy running through them, coursing through the channels designed to help properly control it. This guy, though...there was nothing. He was empty, somehow. It was like he was hollow, or he wasn't alive at all. He had less ki than you'd usually detect from a rock, even if that was from small creatures living under it. How did that make any sense? Every living thing had Ki, like he said. This guy did look alive. Maybe he really was an alien of some kind, then. Were there some that could hide their Ki, or disguise it, something like that? He could probably avoid getting people's attention all the time, like this.
He was a little surprised when he got the greeting, though more surprised when he got one that actually acknowledged his species. Oh, well, that did catch him off-guard. So, whoever this was, he not only knew what a Saiyan was, but somehow, how to recognise one. What gave him away? Maybe it was the eye thing, but maybe not. Usually, most told the difference an Earthling and a Saiyan by their power, which was probably why you didn't really hear of strong Earthlings. People probably just assumed that they were weird-looking Saiyans, or something like that. Whatever the case, this guy knew what he was, which was notable enough on his own. "Oh, uh...morning. So, you know about Saiyans then, huh? That I'm one too, I guess." It seemed obvious. He was actually quite pleased to get a polite greeting of all things - it tended to be that a lot more beings on this planet, whether they were Earthlings or not, were rude to him. Well, mostly rude to him. By rude, he meant that they usually demanded he leave before they shoot at him with a gun of some kind, or that he stop eating all of the food at the speed eating competition. Which he didn't see as his fault. If there's a speed-eating competition, surely the guy that eats the fastest should get as much food as he wants? Whatever.
Zarun blinked in surprise at hearing of the man's actual origins. So, he wasn't an alien. That explained why he looked more like just an unusual Earthling rather than something from another planet. That being said, there were definitely some aliens who looked a lot like Humans. He'd heard that Kabochans looked like Earthlings, though he hadn't ever actually seen one. There were a couple of pretty important ones out there, though. He had no doubt he could find them on a public computer of some kind, somewhere. He just counted himself lucky that he actually knew how to read - considering the circumstances he grew up in, it easily could have never happened at all. "Oh, really? Huh. So you're like some kind of robot, then? I think I've seen a few of those spread around here on Earth. You seem a bit more....like an actual Earthling than those ones do, though." He'd definitely seen some of them being used as guards and general labourers in the bigger cities, though the rural areas of Earth still mostly had humans doing the agriculture, it seemed. He wondered if things just weren't very connected on this world - maybe the King wanted things to be that way. Who knew?
The Saiyan did, in fact, appreciate that his new acquaintance floated up a bit to make proper eye level with him. This guy really did have good manners, it seemed! He was always a bit put off when someone wouldn't look him in the eye, so he liked that he was getting that from the good doctor. Even if his request was a little unusual. Donate his DNA, huh? He supposed he could do that, depending on how much DNA he actually needed. Still, he'd already been told he shouldn't just give things away for free, even if he didn't really want them. That, and he was curious. So, this guy had artificial ki, right? Which meant Zarun couldn't sense it, so he had no idea how strong this guy actually was, or wasn't, if he wasn't designed to fight. Well...nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?
"My DNA? I suppose you can have that, on one condition. I don't really know how strong you are, but you seem pretty tough already. If you can fight me, then I'll give you my DNA after. Does that sound alright to you?" Admittedly, looking around, maybe he didn't want this audience. They already seemed pretty peeved at Kaijin for his antics and destroying their road, which was a perfectly understandable position. "Maybe we should do it somewhere a bit less...crowded, though. Oh, I'm Zarun, by the way. Nice to meet you."
It was nice meeting anyone he could pick a fight with.

Hm, the Saiyan agreed. To be fair, Kaijin found himself asking this question much more often. It was in an overall attempt to practice relatively good ethics in regards to science experimentation. One should always seek consent before sticking someone with a needle to withdraw blood for testing, yes? That being said, depending on Kaijin's need for DNA, and how rare the species just happened to be, the good doctor would resort to less....accepted ways of attaining what he needed. After all, ethics were nice and all, but should never impede the progress of science. At least, that is what Kaijin believed. It was so much easier when they agreed, however. Yet, the Saiyan had a condition to the ruling. He would only give his consent for the good doctor to draw blood, if he could beat the Saiyan, whose name had been revealed as Zarun, in a non-lethal bout. Narrowing his eyes slightly, Kaijin's sensors began to pick up and calculate Zarun's energy readings into direct numerals, almost as a scouter would, but with a much greater degree of accuracy, along with a much greater threshold for power reading. After a few moments of fluctuations, the power reading finally ceased to move, settling at approximately thirteen thousand. If the Android was any lesser of a person, he would have attempted to laugh and berate the Saiyan Warrior for even raising the subject. However, even if such a reaction was in Kaijin's personality matrix, he wouldn't have shown such disrespect outright, for the ghostly pale Android barely showed emotion to begin with. The emotion behind his exterior body language was about as hollow as the Android himself seemed to others, a fact that mildly entertained him. Nonetheless, if the boy wanted a fight, who was he to decline? Especially when the prize for a victory could allow the Android a chance to obtain Saiyan DNA. "If you desire a bout, that is fine. However, allow me to warn you that your current power level is approximately two percent of my maximum power. However, I have no intention to kill you unless you exhibit the desire to first. Thus, I will refrain overwhelming you." The Android said as he began to raise higher in the air. What Zarun saw, Kaijin was already aware of. He could hear the faint sound of emergency response sirens in the distance, hurrying to the scene to access the damage. To fight here, no matter his foe's power level, would place the city in even more danger than what they already perceived Kaijin as. Thus, it would be best to change venues "Follow me briefly." The Android said before shooting off, his body exhibiting no aura as he seamlessly shot through the sky, his speed something to be admired, the Saiyan most likely having to soar at near full power simply to keep from losing the Android amongst the skies. Kaijin was already calculating which of the island chains in the surrounding area provide a suitable venue for their bout. After a few moments, his long range scanners directed him to an unmarked, uninhabited island east of Amenbo Island. The lack of civilization would prove perfect, given the circumstances, prompting the man to suddenly shift direction, rocketing off in the direction of the island. Treacher Island, it was called. A small island in the eastern Southern Continent, too small for any real civilization to be built there, and thus had been left untouched, ignored by most humans throughout history. Finally stopping, the Android would turn to face his opponent, assuming the Saiyan Warrior had kept up. If he had, Kaijin would place his hands in his pockets, his right hand shuffling through his pockets as if searching for something. After a few moment, he revealed what seemed to be a small flask, full of a brown liquid. Unscrewing the top, wisps of steam rose from the inside, showing that the contents inside were still piping hot. Freshly made Hot Chocolate, with little marshmellows inside for flavor. A little taste of heaven. Tipping his head back, Kaijin drank on the lovely beverage, saving the sweet flavor. Capping the flask, he returned it to his his right pocket, his left hand drifting into the other one, adopting a rather relaxed stance...that wasn't really a stance at all. His red eyes scanning his opponent, Kaijin's systems switching into a battle ready mode. "I will allow you the first move."Word Count: 744 | Total Word Count: 2,300 | zarunBATTLE TRACKER

Zarun probably wouldn't have cared about the massive gap between them. Hell, with how he tended to be, it was very likely that the Saiyan was just going to be more excited about the prospect of fighting the Android if he knew it was at a level he would have to work for a very long time to even hope of reaching. The idea of fighting such powerful beings made the Saiyan's entire body rush with a kind of adrenaline and euphoria no drug would ever be able to replicate; it was something unique to his people, a lust for battle and combat that no other species could hope to match. It wasn't a matter of simple cultural norms, or the expectations of a society. After all, Zarun had grown far from his own people, never knowing another one his entire life. Maybe he'd seen them after leaving the planet he had been unfortunate enough to grow up on, but he had never really known them, not even spoke to them. It was something that was within every single Saiyan, that got their blood pumping no matter what. Even the staunchest pacifist would be unable to help themselves from being just the smallest bit excited, even elated to see violence occuring in front of them, or even better, the chance to partake in that violence, to inflict it themselves upon another, and to have that thrown in the same way on top of them. Still, Zarun was convinced that his people had much to offer the galaxy, that they were a race of great heroes he had to somehow live up to. If only he knew - they had legends and prophecies of their own to try and match.
It wouldn't be too surprising then, that as soon as the Android mentioned Zarun's maximum power level, at least for the time being, was only 2% of his, it only caused a wide grin to begin to grow across the young warrior's face. Only 2 percent? "Two percent? Really? Is that all?!" He didn't say it with a dread or with confusion, but an excited glee, almost childlike in its eagerness to just get on the fairground ride already so they could get moving! "You must be amazing, then! After I fight you this time, we have to do it again, when my max is at least...twenty percent, something close to that! How'd you get that strong?!" Admittedly, Zarun was not someone currently aware that power could be accurately numbered, so he assumed that however the synthetic person was doing it, was based on his own calculation and rating system, something like that. He was sure it was accurate and all, but he just hadn't ever heard of numbering it like that. That was a pretty interesting way to do things, but he should assume that kind of thing to come from a robot, right? His grin stayed on his face as he stared back towards Kaijin, legitimately quite interested, and curious, regarding his new acquaintance.
Suddenly, the Android turned around and darted into the sky like a bullet. Zarun was taken off-guard, not expecting it as no aura had flared up around him. That would make sense though, wouldn't it? After all, he'd been totally unable to detect this guy's Ki, so why would his aura have appeared around him at all? The Saiyan took off into the sky, pushing himself to keep up with the Doctor as they soared across the skyline. He really was incredible, wasn't he? Even sensing nothing from him, to the point he had to keep up enough to make sure he still had eyes on the guy, he could tell that he was something totally different to anything the Saiyan had encountered before. In truth, it made him a little nervous, but it was the kind of nervousness that was twinged with an excitement, with an innate desire to get in there and start punching him in his metal face as soon as possible. He was made of metal, right? Zarun was already wondering what it felt like to actually punch him, if he would feel the same as a regular person, like the meat sacks he usually had to lay a beating down into and take ones from, or if he would just be cold, hard, steel. How had he never encountered something like this earlier? Earth had plenty of robots!
Zarun floated down after his opponent to land on Treacher Island, his eyes darting around the place as he took in the sights of it. It was a pretty nice place, actually. He wondered if their fight was going to ruin it or not. On one hand, he hoped not, he didn't want to ruin animal habitats if he could help it. Then again, if things were a big waste, then that meant the fight had been really good, a level of intensity that you only saw a few times in your life, probably! So he won either way, in his mind. He eventually looked back towards the Doctor, who was currently swilling something that he'd pulled out of his pocket. Wait, wasn't he not...a person? Or at least not a fleshy person, to put it one way. So what exactly was he drinking? He didn't think it was motor oil; no android who was running in good condition would need that. Maybe he could taste, then. Good to know.
"Oh, thanks. Your turn next, then!" Zarun took a moment, examining the other being from their short distance. He wasn't taking a fighting stance, huh? He probably wouldn't need one to help his ki flow properly. Regardless, the Saiyan took his own, pausing for a moment before he rushed forward, seeming to go for a simple punch towards the Android's face. Instead, he whiffed just shy of the mark, trying to drive the flat of his elbow into the synthetic man's cheek before he spun around, trying to get behind him and now use the point of his elbow to drive into the back of Kaijin's head.
Oh, wow. The blood was already rushing to his head, that adrenaline hitting his veins. Usually an opponent had to be particularly strong for it, and it was likely the knowledge that he was up against something akin to a tidal wave while he sat as a small fishing dinghy, that was doing it so much for him. He had to fight guys like this more often. The unmoving, cold types. They were always the most fun to get into a scrap with. You never knew what they had planned.

Post by Doctor Kaijin Vex on Dec 14, 2018 0:25:43 GMT -5
"Don't say I didn't warn you..." Kaijin said briefly. Kaijin saw things in numbers and calculations, and overall was fairly utilitarian in nature. Practicality, reality. He held emotions, but his personality matrix, even if it did evolve over time, no longer included a love for bloodshed and for battle, and even when it did, it was nothing compared to the thrillseeking that Saiyans seemed to be fond of. He knew of their kind, and found their culture to be rather...strange. A love for battle, simply for the sake of it? The vast majority of grunts throwing themselves into the heart of battle, even into certain death, throwing caution to the wind? He had noted that in recent centuries, the Saiyan race had militarized themselves, taking a much more tactical approach to battle than simple barbaric raids and show of unbridled force and rage. Regardless of cultural efforts to civilize the race, they could not strike their battle-loving tendencies from the records of time. It was etched into their very DNA. Or so Kaijin believed. Soon, once he attained the genetic material of Zarun, perhaps he could determine if their battle-lust was cultural, or genetic. His eyes narrowed as the Saiyan Warrior took a battle stance, his detection system already analyzing the system and running various battle algorithms in his head, in an attempt to list and predict possible attack patterns the Saiyan may take in order to strike at Kaijin successfully. Not that it mattered. He figured that with a few choice blows, the Saiyan Warrior would fall. But, he had to determine the man's breaking point first. Which was why he allowed the strike. Kaijin had lowered himself to approximately four percent of his full combat ability in order to fight the Saiyan, yet even at this level he could predict the warrior's strike before it even fully came in. Like a blur of movement, Zarun zoomed just past him, right before the flat of the man's elbow made direct contact with his own cheek, forcing the Android to rear backwards, reeling from the impact force of the blow. He barely had time to register the attack before Zarun's elbow came in for round two, forcing the Android's head to snap downwards as a result of the impact force slamming into the back of his head. To Zarun, he would be met with artificial skin, the likes of which closely resembled real flesh, but underneath the skin layers was solid metal, in which Zarun's elbow (both blows) would meet fierce resistance with, as if he had just punched a metal wall. Kaijin in turn felt nothing. Kaijin's body was crafted to take great deals of impact force before he showed even the tiniest hint of true damage. In addition, the man was completely, one hundred percent, artificial. He couldn't physically feel pain, nor could he tire or hunger, or thirst. He was a machine, through and through, and often capitalized on his opponent out of the sheer fact that he could pump out the same degree of offensive pressure for an indefinite period of time. A fact that his foe was soon to learn. With little to no warning at all, the Android vanished from sight, utilizing Rapid Movement to increase his speed tenfold, appearing to the right flank of Zarun. The Android outstretched his right hand, executing a rather powerful Kiai a moment later that would send the Saiyan Warrior flying, the impact force of the blow capable of throwing the man for a loop. Without another word, the Android placed his hands together, a small orb of teal colored energy forming in his hands, before drastically growing in size as it was discharged from his hands towards his foe, seeking to envelop Zarun in a raging, fiery explosion. In truth, he was hoping to fight a foe that utterly outclassed him. Wasn't that the point? He wondered if the android thought that this was something he was hoping to win, or if he thought that the Android's victory (as if it wasn't assured) would somehow be the only way he would give his DNA. He didn't care enough about his DNA to try and hold it to ransom like that, but more importantly, like hell would he somehow value it over the chance to battle with something as powerful as this artifical human claimed to be. He wasn't just interested in his own limits; plenty of warriors could figure out enough about themselves to tell what was going on in their own bodies, so it wouldn't shock him if he were to discover things about his power in this fight. Most likely, the most obvious thing was going to be that it was woefully below that of who he was up against. What he wanted to find more out more about was Kaijin here - he wanted to see what it was like to hit him, to be hit by him, to feel that battle with an unfeeling machine. His lack of pain, adrenaline or even care about what was going on was what made him so interesting. Maybe the good Doctor would never understand it, but maybe in a way, it was like a form of scientific curiosity. The thing was, battle and combat were the only subjects that ever really interested him, that he ever truly dedicated himself and his time to. What other avenues did he have for study, for learning, to discover new things about strange creatures and beings? An artifical person, not just a typical robot, it seemed, was far more interesting and strange than anything else he'd met so far - even the Majin on this planet. Who could blame him for being interested?
He wasn't that shocked to see his opponent wasn't really that bothered by his blow - he would've been surprised that he actually hit him at all if the Android hadn't said he was letting the Saiyan warrior make the first move. What he was really hoping to see was how he fought - his battle tactics, if he would bother to use them. He couldn't imagine something as cerebral as an android, if that was really what he was (and he sure felt like it), going in to a situation like this without a plan. He bet that his processor or matrix, or whatever was working immediately, as soon as he'd moved. Probably running through dozens of different plans and battle situations for how it would deal with something like him, that fought like him, that it had fought and beaten before. Right? It would only make sense. Zarun was actually doing the same, in some way - running his mind through potential moves to make, what would be smart, what wouldn't be - for instance, did this thing even process light in its photoreceptors? Could he just close them entirely, like with blinking? If he was meant to look like a person (not doing a great job of it), it would make sense that he could. Still, what he was kind of cooking up tended to work with humans, so he couldn't see why it wouldn't work with something imitating them.
As he finished his blow, the Android seemed to suddenly disappear, as though he'd never been there at all. He moved fast enough that he couldn't actually be caught in his movement by eyesight at all, and Zarun knew that his ability to sense Ki was going to do no good here. Instead, he had to rely on his battle instincts, which thankfully, were still in full force. As the good doctor appeared on his right flank, preparing the shockwave of a Kiai, Zarun brought up his arm, more his wrist than anything, using it to try and mostly absorb the blow of the attack. He was sent skidding back through the dirt, his boots leaving trackmarks in the ground below him. As he brought up his gaze to look at the Android, he noticed something immediately. His arm, the one he had used to actually block the attack, was shaking. No, it was...quivering. It was suddenly beginning to sting with pain, like the worst version of pins and needles you'd ever had in your whole life. What was this? This was...strange. He had a moment to try and think about it, to figure out how to deal with it, when he noticed the rushing ball of teal energy coming towards him, hurtling through the sky. Well, fair enough. He supposed he had said it was the doctor's turn. Besides, he was the one standing around, not taking advantage of his situation.
Zarun focused his Ki into his speed, rapidly moving up and avoiding the attack, floating back down a bit as it exploded in a fiery blaze behind him, bathing the area in a deep light. As the light began to fade, Zarun glance down, noticing that he had only barely been fast enough. The outer rim of the Ki had sliced his leg, which felt like an odd mix between a burn and a throbbing wound, with some blood leaking down the side of his calf. The Saiyan's eyes went back to the Android, then to his shaking arm as he raised his hand in front of his face. "This is pretty smart."
A small smirk came across his face as he looked towards Kaijin again, quite impressed with what he did. "I was wondering why that Kiai didn't hurt. The energy you put out is rushing around in my body, right? Stinging at my nerves and acting like a sort of air bubble in the Ki channels. That's why I feel a little....drained right now. Why I can't make it all move so easily." His smirk turned into a full-blown grin as he squeezed his hand into a fist, an almost admiring tone in his voice as he explained. "That's exactly what I wanted. With learning from guys like you, who needs trainers?" With that, he rushed forward again, coming to a vertical standing position feet from Kaijin as he landed on the ground, his boots skidding through it as he leaned back, preparing a punch and focusing himself, trying to ignore the pain and stinging as best he could.
He knew in this state, he could do little, very little, to harm the Android he was up against. So he would just practice for a little bit, wash the rust off, see how good this guy's prediction algorithms were, and how much he himself could still take.
As the fist came rushing forward, it was a bait. Figuring that an android would go with the most efficient option of avoiding the strike, he assumed it being a whiff. If it was, he would continue to spin his body, going for either a knee strike to the side of Kaijin's head if he planned on ducking, or to the equivalent of his ribs if he didn't. He didn't stop his spin, instead going low as he balanced on his hands, attempting to kick upwards with his other leg, hoping to put enough force to send his opponent up into the sky.
The oppressiveness of knowing his other opponent's power only made him want to try harder.

Kaijin didn't dodge. He rarely ever made the movement to, unless his calculations showed that the predicted force of a certain blow would prove too much for his body to handle at once, then he would do his best to avoid as much damage as possible. But when it came to most things? Kaijin didn't deem it fit to dodge. Most of the time, he could do more in the counterattack when he simply allowed his foe to hit him, then if he dodged. It was more or less a psychological mind game. There were many aspects of the Android that people tended to forget, merely because a being of his kind were so unlike everyone else. When people dodge attacks, the opponent immediately expects a counterattack, for such was natural when it came to battle. Trading of blows. If your blow obviously failed, it was better to prepare yourself for the inevitable. However, when one's blow struck true, it subconsciously planted a seed of satisfaction within the fighter responsible. A degree of satisfaction, ranging from minuscule to pure elation at the discovery of such a fact. The opponent in turn, would take a moment to reel from the pain, recover their wits, before striking again. Of course, this all happened within the span of seconds, but Kaijin cut out a small portion of that time with his own fighting style. For the Android, there was no recovering wits, nor was there any pain to recover from. For him, every strike was calculated, every counterattack calculated. Everything was planned, from beginning to end. As long as the damage predictions weren't too horribly out of scope, everything would fall into place in the end. Even if his foe couldn't see it yet. Nonetheless, he was surprised in the Saiyan Warrior. Apparently he had misjudged the man, deeming him and the Saiyans as little more than battle hungry mercenaries, whose immense potential for power allowed them victory in modern warfare. However, it seemed his prejudiced were unfounded, and as a result were quickly remedied. There was am art to war, after all, and it simply seemed as if the Saiyans had that art embed in their very genes. Or so was the theory. "Impressive." The Android praised, his voice as emotionless as it had been the entire encounter, however the smallest tinges of a smile tugged on his lips. He admired such quick deductive reasoning in the course of battle, especially within the first few moments. "To be fair, my offensive attack was meant for damage and to leave an effect. You just managed to defend against it appropriately. As for my battle tactics..."Kaijin paused for a moment, withdrawing the flask of hot chocolate once more, taking a break in the middle of his sentence for a swig of the sweet beverage, before slipping the cap back on and placing it back in his pocket. "There is a lot more to it, but you have begun to scratch the surface. Well done. You have already exceeded my expectations. New expectations are being set."As Zarun moved on the offensive once more, the good doctor allowed himself to be struck once again by the man's flurry of blows, the last strike, however, failing to lift him. The impact force was considerable, that much was given, for the Android felt a shudder run through his system from the force as it jolted past his body. Yet, that was it. "Are you already beginning to tire?" The Android asked before moving back on the offensive. His eyes lit up with bright red energy, before flashing, exhibiting a blinding red light of artificial energy, the likes of which would pain the eyes greatly, and effectively rend someone of their sight temporarily if one were to gaze directly upon the pale Android. Drawing his right fist pack in tandem, the Android would then coat his right fist in teal colored artificial energy to enhance the impact force of the blow. In one swift motion, he threw his fist to connect with Zarun's right cheek in a sucker punch, seeking to throw the man off his feet. "Your blows are predictable. Try harder."Word Count: 700 | Total Word Count: 3,632 | zarun BATTLE TRACKER

New expectations, huh?
That put more of a grin on Zarun's face. He wasn't just interested in seeing what these new parameters were, he was excited at the idea of what kind of new tactics the Android would bring into the fight. He was more surprised that he'd properly defended against the synthetic man's attack, than anything. He could tell that even with this difference in power, it was battle experience that was making the big difference here. Kaijin had experienced more, and clearly experienced many different kinds of opponents thus far. After all, without that, he wouldn't have the data to make calculations on, right? Even if that wasn't the case and someone else had done it, that didn't make him any less dangerous. Regardless of how he'd acquired his ability to deal with opponents and whatever else his machine learning had figured out, he was still incredible regardless. Zarun admired that ability he had to adapt to an opponent; perhaps it was something to learn from. After all, he seemed to be totally prepared, though his emotionless demeanour was likely more due to his status as an artifical human than anything. Zarun couldn't be sure if he really cared about anything, or understood what care even was beyond it being a concept, but that didn't really matter, did it? What was important now was his ability in combat, and it was exciting. He was curious what a being like this could possibly want from the DNA of someone like him. Was it just for studying Saiyans in general? Zarun couldn't imagine someone else being as interested in them unless it was for their combat ability - so surely there were others that were better subjects than him, right? Who might have had more potent DNA, with more potential than someone like him had?
Suddenly, the doctor seemed to open his eyes, and a blinding light filled Zarun's vision, if only for the brief moment that he had to see how it was done. His eyes forcibly shut closed as he felt a burning pain in his retinas, and he was unable to see at all. The energy seemed to do more than that though, or maybe it was the Kiai that had shaken his body earlier. He felt his ki start to block and refuse, to struggle more and more with channeling through his body. As he leaned back a bit, reeling from the blinding assault on his senses, he grinned a little bit. That sly bastard. He was trying to just wear him down, huh? Zarun supposed it made sense. If he regarded him as a minimal threat and still wanted his DNA intact, then that meant he didn't want to have to put too much effort into beating him down. With the distinct difference in their abilities, even with the Android holding back, it was very likely that he could blow him into little pieces by accident, and what use was his DNA then? Well, maybe still useful, but not as much as living tissue, he imagined. Not that he knew anything of the sciences.
"That's pretty smart. I can't sense you, so you blind me and make it hard for me to deal with anything, right?" He liked this guy a lot. Now, let's think. He couldn't see, but his other senses were still intact, and more important, his instincts were still there. Now, if he was an Android, he would be going off data of typical attack patterns, and what was most efficient. Most fighters were right-handed, or at least liked using a strong right hand to lay a hard punch to their opponent. If the Android just wanted to subdue him rather than inflict lasting damage, he'd go for the face, to shake his brain about in his skull, to leave him unable to really deal with standing up and fighting again. So, he could assume...right-handed punch, coming as a hook. He listened for the whistling in the wind of the powerful arm heading for him.
Suddenly, the Saiyan's head cocked and he barely avoided the punch, rushing forward, with the arm from his other side cocked for a punch. "I use more than my eyes, though!" He swung the punch upwards towards the Android's face. He was taking this carefully, thinking ahead. Now, it was likely his opponent was either going to avoid this punch or catch it quite easily to hold him in place and retaliate; that was the plan, anyway. Regardless, when the fist was stopped or avoided, or even as it just closed in on his face, it opened up. A bright red light, strangely reminiscent of the same blinding light Kaijin had used moment's earlier, shined brightly, attempting to hit right into the Android's excuse for eyes. Manipulating his uncooperative Ki, he channeled an electrical energy into the strange flash, trying to screw with his opponent's sensors as much with his sight - Zarun doubted he relied on his eyes as much as organics did.
While he did this, his other hand had moved low, opened up and pointed towards Kaijin's stomach. A golden beam of energy shot out from it, trying to catch him unawares and send him rushing backwards. He doubted he was going to do much. If he could leave the smallest scratch on his new Android acquaintance, then he'd be happy with that. Even if he didn't, who cared? He was going to have this fight again later, he knew he was. He'd have to train and get stronger, become a more complete fighter by that point. Then he could really test the limits of the synthetic man.

"I commend your ability. Your mind is sharp and your focus resolute. Capable of adapting to a plethora of scenarios. If you continue to hone your skills and develop your fighting power, you will prove a worthy ally to anyone you choose to associate yourself with in the near future." Kaijin praised as the Saiyan expertly handled in his robbed sight. There would be quite a few fighters who would be hopeless once robbed of their sight, given that the Android already deprived them of their ability to sense his Ki, due to him possessing only artificial energy. However, Zarun seemed to face the reality of the situation, and made the best of it, shifting his sense focus on other outlets. It allowed his foe to dodge his attack to some degree. But that was no matter. He was slowly breaking his foe down. It was only a matter of time before Zarun reached the Shatterpoint. As the Saiyan charged forward, the Android merely raised his right hand, directing it outwards, his open palm facing Zarun, as if he was half-heartedly trying to deflect something. As Zarun closed in for a swift punch, the Android suddenly moved his hand back, with the intent to block his foe's blow, but not before Zarun's hand suddenly lit up with bright red energy, in an attempt to imitate the technique Kaijin had used on the boy, only seconds ago. Kaijin's hand clamped Zarun's hand closed, sealing the technique with the boy's only palm. "Too slow...."The Android warned, before he suddenly went on the offensive. Pulling Zarun by the arm, the Kaijin jerked the Saiyan Warrior forward, just in time for the Android's other hand to close into a fist and move in, making intense impact with the Saiyan's gut. Even with his power suppressed to the level that it was at currently, the impact force behind his blow was tremendous. "This will be over soon." The Android added, as he moved to attack once more. His hands like blurs of movement, Kajin unleashed a devastating melee offensive upon the Saiyan, his punches coming in with a fury and swiftness most unlike what the Saiyan had most likely seen exhibited by the scientist. If the boy didn't already know that Kaijin was severely holding back, he might have thought that Kaijin was pulling out all the stops on this. But, in actuality it was merely a portion of his power, used to utterly punish the Saiyan. Word Count: 415 | Total Word Count: 4,047 | zarun BATTLE TRACKER DEFENSIVE SUMMARY

He was getting compliments now, too. Maybe he was doing a little better than he thought, after all. Considering the vast difference in power between the two combatants, at least from what Zarun could tell, he could've been doing worse. He was of course, not expecting to beat this guy. Not in this state, and not with the clear gap there was between them. There was a whole chasm that he, somehow, had to cross. He had to gain more than just new power if he wanted to try and overcome an enemy like this, though. Kaijin, being a synthetic humanoid (it was even stranger to get compliments from him, considering that) was able to think much faster than an organic being would. In short, there wasn't any point in actually 'thinking' with him. To fight something like this, you needed to have the power to match, sure, but there was a degree of skill and experience involved. Zarun had fought ever since he was a child, against all kinds of opponents that didn't seem to move with rhyme or reason, that didn't care for anything but food and would have gladly ground him into a fine red past on the craggy rocks and sand of Vinagra. That was why he had that ability to react to quickly, to trust his own senses, and his instincts in battle. If you'd never fought in your life, how could you have them? Organics had an intuition that a synthetic could never naturally have, but it needed the information to gain that intuition, to coalesce the information, same way that a computer did. Kaijin here probably had battle data from Saiyans ten times the warrior he was, or even Earthlings of the same status. Zarun understood that he wasn't at the level of even half the guys this Android must've already beaten, but that didn't mean he was always going to be stuck down at the bottom of the ladder.
"Th-Thanks." Zarun struggled a bit with the words, the sheer pain wracking through his entire body, which was screaming at him to give in. In all honesty, it was hard not to do just that, especially with his legs shaking, threatening to collapse at any moment. It was his stubbornness, his will that was pushing him to keep fighting, even though there wasn't that much of a point. "Sure don't....d-don't feel all that resolute right now." Even with his eyes shut, the grin extended out on Zarun's face. He couldn't help being excited by an opponent like this, even with all the pain he was feeling, and all the fatigue that had been forced into his system. Maybe he was just a bit too stubborn for his own good. It would make sense for someone like him, right? Someone as boneheaded as him, who decided to pick a fight with everything and anything he could find, so desperate to try and find the glory he thought would prove something to his people. Funny how he knew, knew how ridiculous it was, how stupid of a goal it sounded. How much it seemed like he'd never really achieve anything like that, but it didn't change anything about how he felt, how he acted. He kept carrying on, kept trying to become that warrior he imagined in his head.
He seemed to wince and smile at the same time as he felt Kaijin close his fist, and heard the way he commented, how Zarun was just that bit too slow. Yeah. Maybe he was. Nothing that could be done about that, huh? Not right now, anyway. He'd...make sure he got faster, though. That he became more dangerous, that his blows hit harder. He had to. If he stayed like this, then there were too many opponents out there who would be far from his reach, who would just overwhelm him in seconds. He would never get to experience what it was like to really fight them and others, to be a real Saiyan Warrior, the kind who travelled across the galaxy for all kinds of worthy challenges to meet and overcome. At least, that was the plan in his head.
As the punch struck his gut, Zarun felt like his whole brain shut off. The pain was immense as spittle and blood was forced from his mouth, actually popping him slightly into the air. He had been expecting retribution, that much was true, but maybe he should've steeled himself a little more against something like this. Who was he kidding, though? No matter how much he could've readied himself, he still would have taken this the exact same way. He felt like he was going to explode, heat travelling through his body as his stomach recoiled, forced upwards and feeling like it was in his chest. It was actually difficult to try and quantify all of the pain and the attacks that came afterwards at once. It was almost like he fell asleep, dreamt and woke up again. During the onslaught, his mind was elsewhere, focused on other things. He thought back to the idea of what was out there in space, if other Saiyans were out there like his parents, however they might've looked like. He wondered about all the strong and powerful alien races there were out there that he could challenge, who would have warriors that could no doubt school him in mere moments, that he'd have the opportunity to test himself against, to learn from and eventually overcome. Eventually though, his mind went back to a single subject, despite the brutal beating he was getting. He couldn't believe what an amazing guy his opponent was.
Soon enough, a particularly strong punch crunched into the side of the Saiyan's face, sending him rushing back through the air. Perhaps something in his subconscious reacted, using his aura to slow him down somwhat, but when he hit a rock face, he collided back-first, hitting it hard and being forced forward again, rather than slamming right through with tremendous force. The young warrior slammed face down into the grass, unmoving for a few moments. With the blood coming from him and the state he was in, nevermind the attack he just took, it wouldn't have been strange for someone without Ki, or the ability to sense it to assume that he had actually been killed, his soul already on the way to be judged. Eventually though, those seconds passed, and Zarun began to twitch and move. Really, he should have been unconscious. He had no idea why he wasn't, if he was honest. Maybe it was the Saiyan Pride he'd heard was important. Did he have that? Was he strong enough to exhibit something like that?
Zarun, struggling all the way, lifted his head up, beginning to crawl. He used his forearms to moved himself, his body quivering with blood running from his mouth and nose, scratches and cuts across his body from the power of the attack he'd just survived. He kept trying to pull himself up, stumbling over and over back down as he did. Eventually, he reached Kaijin, using the Android's coat to pull his way up. With a last show of force that even he wasn't sure of the reason for, he swung his fist at the doctor's face. Maybe he missed, or the Android dodged. Maybe he did hit him and his fist just struck ineffectually and didn't matter. After the punch, whatever came of it, Zarun slipped and fell forward, laying on his side next to the Android's feet. He groaned slightly in pain, rolling over onto his back to try and get a look at the sky, wincing at the sight of the sun, having barely recovered his eyesight.
"Fair....fair enough. What's a guy like you....doing around here, anyway?" He didn't mind giving his DNA. Kaijin had earned it, anyway. He'd enjoyed what he got of the fight, even if there was a pang of guilt in there. He hadn't been enough for a good fight, or probably for battle data, which was what he assumed to be Kaijin's equivalent. He supposed he couldn't be everything to everyone, right? Still, didn't make him feel any better about the whole thing. He'd get over it soon enough once he improved and was able to give the Doctor more of a fun bout the next time, he was sure. Better to just get back to questions now.

Everything went as calculated. He had known from the beginning that the Saiyan wasn't capable of hurting him. The power gap was too large, and the Saiyan's punches too light to do any meaningful harm to Kaijin's armored chassis, underneath the artificial skin. However, in turn the Android was capable of withstanding great shows of force, while also pumping out great deals of damage, a surprising amount. He simply allowed his opponents to tucker themselves out, with a little help in the beginning stages from Kaijin himself. Once their own attacks had taken their toll upon the body, the Android would then proceed to rain hell on his enemies. It seemed to work, a lot of the time, for organics never failed to fall into the same traps over and over. Not that they had any choice, however. If they didn't attack the Android, Kaijin would simply defeat them. If they did attack the Android, Kaijin was more than capable of mitigating the blows long enough for his opponent to tire out, before capitalizing on their weakness. That was what felled Zarun in this match. Nonetheless, the Saiyan was impressive, and his intellect along with his tactics had rendered him a worthy match up. Most likely more so that most of the other fighters around his same level of power. This fighter was worthy, and for that, he wouldn't move to finish the man off. As Kaijin's feet touched the soft sand, the good doctor began to approach the fallen Saiyan as he attempted to help himself up, which was shortly followed by a rather pathetic attempt to hurt the Android with one final punch, which the Android dodged by simply side stepping away from the blow, allowing the Saiyan to once more fall before him. His eyes lowered slightly as he stared upon the Saiyan's near broken form. "I forgot organics were rather fragile...." The good doctor muttered, withdrawing a syringe from his coat pocket, along with a cotton swab, which he was quick to pour a bit of cleaning alcohol upon before moving to sterilize the needle. He rarely traveled anywhere without at least a few of his creations. They weren't for his own use, of course, for he could rarely use biological based medicines or machinery, but he brought them for cases like this, where he could potentially experiment with any of his prototypes. So, he might as well get his experimentation out here with one of his prototype healing serums, crafted specifically to act as a natural healing accelerator as well as a painkiller and stimulant, allowing for one to maintain awareness and comfortable movement long enough to retreat to safety and get more permanent treatment. Whether it would do this, or kill Zarun quickly yet painfully, even the good doctor didn't know. That was why test subjects were an excellent investment. Thankfully, Kaijin didn't note any irregular heart beating or any other signs that would hint to death, which was a good sign that the Saiyan wasn't dying. Moving to stand once again, the Android would look upon the Saiyan once more. "I am here because I was created on this planet. As for my business in Sasebo, that is my business. Zarun wasn't dumb enough to think he had a chance in this fight. If the power gap wasn't there, if he was more prepared, then maybe, but who was to say if that was the case? Whatever the result might be in that hypothetical world, he had lost in the real one. More importantly though, he'd learned some things. That technique the Android had pulled out, which he had gone to copy - it was good. A real good one. He would definitely keep using that from now on. With luck, maybe he'd get to the point that he would actually be pretty handy with it, as opposed to just getting his hand closed and looking like a bit of an idiot. Ah, well. No strategy was perfect, no tactic totally full-proof. He was pretty sure he'd figured out how Kaijin locked down an enemy and kept them that way. It was a smart way to do things and he wasn't going to knock it, either. You let your opponent run themselves into the trap and wear themselves down. He took advantage of his own capabilities and the limits of other creatures. It made sense to do. From Zarun's perspective, he was trying to think of counters. Naturally, an organic's advantage was that intuition, that understanding of battle from a less removed perspective. At the end of the day, Kaijin was a computer inside a mechanical shell just shaped like a person. It was strange to think of his opponent that way, but it was true. He wasn't really a person in the typical way, was he? Did that make him somehow less of one? Zarun wasn't sure. He might work off programming, but a lot of beings went off instinct, which was something they were born with, that they didn't choose to have or always choose to follow. Was it really any different? He wasn't all that sure, though he was positive there were other people, far more qualified than him who could answer questions like that.
The thing was, it only made him more appealing to Zarun. He was an unfeeling machine, not worried about pain or fatigue or anything like that. It made him an incredible opponent, one that he would relish getting the chance to fight again sometime, when he was strong enough that those factors would actually matter. As it stood, it wouldn't have mattered if Kaijin was an Earthling; he still would've won quite easily in their match, as he did earlier. The Saiyan's eyes had fully recovered now, and near shot open as the solution the Android used spread throughout his body, rapidly aiding in his healing. He blinked a couple of times, slowly sitting up and leaning his arms over his knees, staring forward. He clenched and opened his fists, seeing few marks on his hands and not feeling any real pain anymore. "Seems like everyone has some way to heal you back to full health on this planet, huh?" It had happened in his last friendly bout, too. It was strange to consider any interaction with a machine like this 'friendly', but to someone like the young Saiyan, the way that they had just understood each other was something that was more than strangers in battle really had with each other. He had an admiration for the Android, the same as he would have for a living being. Besides, who was to say he wasn't pretty similar anyway? He seemed to enjoy drinking whatever it was he had in that flask in his pocket, and that didn't seem like something a totally cold automaton would do.
Zarun stood up, stretching slightly as he cracked his neck from side to side. His power had actually already increased, thanks to the quick mix of a beating that put him so handily out of commission, only for him to fully heal from it. It was true, what they said; that a Saiyan who was left to die only came back stronger. There were no doubt some superstitions out there that you needeed to cut the head off one or be sure they were space dust or they'd just come rushing back after you again, like some kind of battle-crazed grim reaper with an amped level of power, ready to tear you to shreds. Zarun wouldn't pretend that the image of the vindicated, vengeful Saiyan warrior didn't appeal to the violent fantasies in his mind, or the hero worship that he had for the rest of his race, that he'd never met or understood. He supposed even they, to some extent, were kind of fragile, weren't they? It was the last word that was in his mind when he considered his people, the people he was astoundingly proud to be a part of. Yet, the fragility made them stronger with each time it hurt them. He liked that.
He almost looked slightly surprised at the mention of the deal. He had agreed to give the Doctor something, hadn't he? He was actually quite impressed when Kaijin mentioned his creation on Earth, too. "So you're an Earthling project, then? I guess you do look a bit like one. I'm always surprised with how smart they are." He leaned forward, examining Kaijin's looks and facial features a bit more carefully. At least to him, they did show those almost softer aspects of the Human appearance, rather than the more harsh and angular features that you found on the form of a Saiyan, or even just other species that were running around space. Maybe this was why so many people found Earthlings appealing and attractive. He grinned, still wondering what on Earth the Doctor could want with DNA from someone like him. "We did. So, you want my DNA, right? Do you just need blood from my arm, something like that? I still don't know why you'd want DNA from someone like me. There's gotta be a lot of stronger guys out there, surely." Zarun could only imagine. Even if it was just that he needed a Saiyan, there was definitely warriors out there ten times as powerful if not more than he was. Weren't they more worthy? Did that even make a difference? Surely your natural power came from DNA, at least a little bit. He probably wouldn't even know what that meant if it wasn't for how Sorben had described it, years ago. He was glad he listened now.

"Stronger, most definitely. However, I seek for DNA in those based on potential to grow. I have deemed you as worthy. Simply taking from the strongest has deemed many biological creations to be failures." Kaijin explained, in simple terms, to his soon to be patient. Other scientist simply sought the strongest of a given species, often pursuing a Super Saiyan amongst Saiyans, or the Great Namek amongst Namekians, or the strongest amongst the Frost Demons for their DNA samples, combining it into one being. While this creation may boast great natural strength (especially if the cells were mutated to induce considerable natural power), the creation's potential for gaining power was often compromised. Doctor Gero's own masterpiece, Cell, was an exception to this, albeit on a technicality. It was reported that Cell had the ability to absorb another's life essence to fuel his power, often resulting in the victim's death. Yet, even without that, Cell was reported to boast an intelligence capable of balancing those power gains with the skill and control needed to make that power lethal.
Imitations were not so skilled.
Regardless, Kaijin had a different approach. He theorized that if he were to measure a fighter's growth potential on a custom scale, he would base whether that fighter was worthy to take cells from. That way, those genetics could be passed on to the creation that was spawned forth from those cells. Current power of the donor wasn't a factor, merely potential to grow stronger. Kaijin believed that while the resulting creation may have a lower natural power level compared to other Bio-Warriors out there, that one's immense potential for growth would offset such an initial disadvantage, resulting in a biological creation much like Kaijin himself: Capable of indefinite evolution.
Whether it would work or not....well, one just had to find out.
Regardless, Kaijin had deemed Zarun worthy for several reasons. Super Saiyan or no, the Saiyan species still had the same genes. The famed "Zenkai" trait as one of the premier ones among them, that allowed Saiyans to gain tremendous power by surviving near death experiences. Along with this, Zarun had impressed the Android. The boy's potential readings were rather large, giving him a huge percentage of growth, not even factoring Zenkai in. In addition, the boy's quick wit and ability to analyze and adapt were traits rarely found in the rabble of brutal fighters these days. Such intelligence and ingenuity were hard things to pass up, and thus he had chosen Zarun. Now, he simple had to complete the extraction and be on his merry way.
"Every race has its' talents. Humans are not born with a relatively high potential for power as Saiyans are, or as the Frost Demon race is capable of. Most of the stronger Earthlings I have encountered have attained such power through undergoing training that would make an alien shudder at its' intensity and duration. However, human ingenuity and technological innovation has always been a reason for its' success. My existence is just a physical representation of that." The good doctor explained, withdrawing a Dyno Capsule from his pocket, a storage containment pod developed by Capsule Corp that allowed for large quantities of items to be condensed and stored within a small capsule, making for easy travel.
Pressing down on the capsule, the good doctor then proceeded to toss the Dyno Capsule into the air, watching it explode as the storage containment seal was released, allowing for its' contents to spill out. A single medical kit fell from the sky into Kaijin's waiting hands. Snapping the kit open, Kaijin immediately began pulling on gloves, sterilizing his syringe to prepare for withdrawing blood.
"I have considered you worthy. Perhaps, if my experiments succeed, I will call upon you to witness the birth of my creation. Now, give me your right arm." Kaijin said, making small talk as he reached out and grabbed the Saiyan's right arm, moving swiftly to expose the skin. Within a few moments, he successfully found the boy's vein and moved to clean the area of contact, in order to prevent infection, before injecting the Saiyan with the syringe. Slowly but surely, the syringe would fill with Zarun's blood, and once the scientist was satisfied, he extracted the needle, cleaned it and proceeded to pack it for storage.
"There, simple. Now, before I leave you to study this, I ask you one single question...you have inquired why a man such as myself is here on this island, and I have answered that I am a native of this planet. However, Saiyans are not native to this planet, so that only leads me to reflect the same question upon you. Why are you here?"

Potential to grow, huh?
Zarun supposed he had made a lot of progress recently. Even comparing himself to how he was when he fought the Earthling girl, he must have been at least twice as strong as he was then. What a fight that was. He could remember that battle in his bones, etched into his skin. It made him quiver with excitement, the idea of another strong opponent that he'd one day get to have a rematch with. There was her, the Majin, and then of course, Doctor Kaijin here. Still, he was intrigued by what the good doctor was telling him. So, he agreed there was stronger, and that made sense, but that wasn't apparently what qualified someone for whatever this project was that he had in mind. He was more interested in a being's potential, in their ability to make progress and to push themselves harder. Hm. He supposed that was a pretty good idea, wasn't it? If you had someone who was born strong but couldn't get much farther than that, even when they tried, then that would mean that they were sort of stuck, and stagnant. Whereas someone like him, although he was born quite weak compared to a lot of other beings, could eventually reach that strength and maybe higher. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise, to be born weak. It forced you to consider your options, to push yourself and to try, to make progress moving up higher than you once had before. He supposed he'd never thought of it like that before.
"Biological creations? So you're making some kind of super fighter out of the DNA you're collecting, then?" Zarun grinned as he heard the idea. Did that make this weird guy that was going to be a result of all this DNA partially his child, somehow? That was a weird thought, and he decided to push that away into the back of his brain. He didn't really consider any ethical limitations to science anyway - there was just a right and a wrong way to do things, and all he was doing here was taking blood. So it was hardly something he could pull him up for. The excitement was palpable in Zarun's voice, the young Saiyan's heart skipping a beat at the ultimate fighter being created with part of his own DNA being an aspect of it! "Tell me whenever they're ready. I want to fight them. You'll need to test them out, right? Right?" Zarun, despite his ability to quickly think and his budding intelligence, especially for a Saiyan, didn't mean that he was someone who didn't have the flaw of the battle lust that had consumed his people for so many generations. For now, he was young and impulsive, needing an outlet for his emotions and his desire to relieve tension, and fighting was the greatest way for him to do so. He often heard that other beings went into some kind of reproductive overdrive with those sort of feelings, but Saiyans just got a huge desire to fight. Maybe that was why they tended to be so much better at it than most species, then?
In truth, Zarun had never been taught about the 'Zenkai' or Saiyan Power as it was sometimes called, that had powered up his ancestors so much as to help create the reputation of his race. He had heard that Saiyans were always the type to come back stronger, but he had assumed this was more metaphorical, talking about the way the warrior race constantly trained themselves, forced themselves to get better and better and pushed themselves to new heights. No, though. It wasn't just a metaphor or entirely through hard work. He had not learned it from reading about it or being told, but through his own experiences. He had experienced near death multiple times now on the planet Earth, and he assumed that would make most beings want to simply run away from it. Having known another alien being, one who did not enjoy fighting or violence in the slightest, he couldn't blame them at all. For many creatures, violence and the brutality of combat was sickening and repulsive, even terrifying for many. It was just different for him. It was exciting, and fulfilling.
The Saiyan tilted his head in curiosity as Kaijin spoke of Earthling's ingenuity. He supposed that was true, yeah. Even if you ignored the fact that the android standing right here was an obvious example of that, you only had to look at how they had advanced already. Earthlings were, in comparison to the wider galactic scene, both bumpkins and brilliant. They seemed so behind in terms of society, still living lives of a post-industrial era, even if Zarun didn't really get what was meant by that. They were creators of great technology, but in quite specific areas and not quite at a level of the galactic norm, but were rapidly catching up and exceeding it. It was amazing. He knew Sorben was really into robotics. He'd have to introduce him to Kaijin sometime. Zarun's thoughts however, were distracted when the android mentioned his creation and perhaps inviting Zarun to actually witness the birth of it. That sounded great. "Yeah, of course. I'll come see it. Or him, her, whatever. What are you going to do with them? Just see how strong they can get, or use them for something specific?" Holding out his right arm, the Saiyan continued to look inquisitive in his expression. It was an honest question, and one that he was hoping he would get answered quickly.
Zarun looked at his arm after Kaijin had taken blood, flexing it slightly as he opened and closed his fist. Huh, so it was that easy. Nothing too complicated needed when you were making some kind of creature out of DNA? He supposed science really did go over his head. Still, he had asked enough questions, and apparently the doctor thought so, too. Instead, he was the one asking, and it was kind of weird that he hadn't been asked this much before. Zarun took a moment to think, as though considering how to express himself before he spoke. "Well, I'm not from a Saiyan planet. I grew up on a planet called Vinagra, in the South Quadrant. Me and another kid, Sorben, were both left there. He's really into robotics now I think, you would like him. He left to be with some of his people and travelled away, so I decided to try and find something. I don't know what, but I'm trying to find something to fight for. I like fighting, but I can't just do things I enjoy forever. I have to do something that has a purpose, right? You must understand that." He paused, wondering if the synthetic man really could understand that. It seemed like more of an organic problem. "Anyway, that's why I'm here. I was looking for that thing to fight for. I haven't found it yet, but I'll keep looking. If I can't find it here, I'm sure it's out there somewhere." Zarun smiled, a genuinely warm look on his face. He was hoping for the best - he knew that it wasn't likely he'd get it, but he would hope all the same.

Kaijin sighed lightly. It seemed he had spoken too much regarding his intentions for Zarun's genetic material. The mere mention of an artificial creation had the Saiyan boy practically bouncing off the walls. Not to mention he seemed to insinuate that he would bring Zarun to witness the events of his artificial creation's birth, when in fact he had used perhaps as a form of disclaimer, meaning that if his project was a success, he'd think about that possibility. Of course, when it came to the battle hungry Saiyans, unless it was a "no", it was a "yes". A reality that the scientist was quickly learning to realize. It was no matter then, it was the least he could do. Merely indulge the Saiyan's sense of battle. Not to mention Zarun was correct. Kaijin would indeed need a punching ba--ahem, an appropriate test subject to pit his creation against, to test the progress of his artificial creation. The good doctor was originally planning to test his creation himself, but figured it would do better for assessment data if he were a non combatant third party, rather than splitting his processing speeds between two dual tasks, battling his creation, and analyzing it's potential for growth.
"What purpose my artificial creation will serve, depends, ultimately. But yes, he will be developed with combat and hyper intelligence in order to service me in more ways than one. If my plans succeed and he is born, I will then call upon you to test him out." The scientist spoke, his eyes slowly looking the Saiyan up and down. Perhaps, by the time that he was next called upon, Zarun would prove much stronger than he was in this bout, perhaps enough to rival Kaijin's own strength. And if not, then at the very least have the ability to provide an ample challenge for his creation.
As for Zarun's reason for being, Kaijin could indeed understand. For the longest time, Kaijin had wandered the Earth after creation and conditioning, without his own purpose. Sure, he was given one by his master and creator, Doctor Evelyn Janus, in which it was to serve her for eternity, and kill people for profit. But, he desired freedom ever since he gained the sentience to think independently of his master's desires. What he would do with that freedom, he never knew, but he simply wanted the freedom to choose. And when he finally attained it, he was lost. It wasn't until he absorbed Janus's supercomputer into his own body, did he attain the free will and the ability to analyze the greater galaxy at large, which was where his greater purpose came into existence.
"Looking at the greater galaxy, and analyzing just how you envision yourself within it is a good way to discover your purpose. It is how I discovered mine. If you wish to make a difference, it is merely a discovery as to what that difference should be. For the better of people and society...or not. It is your choice, ultimately." The good doctor said, turning away from Zarun.
With all said and done, the Android had decided that he had spent more than enough time here. He had discovered a useful asset on this day, but he would only prove useful the faster he began working, working on his creation. However, today was also supposed to be a day for hunting. Hunting for the famed hideouts of Doctor Gero. In his eagerness to test the strength of Zarun the Saiyan, he had allowed himself to get sidetracked...sidetracked rather severely. As he hurtled away from the scene, Kaijin allowed a small smile to cross his features.
Perhaps one day, Zarun would exceed even his own high expectations for him.

Zarun hadn't even considered the possibility that Kaijin's creation could have any kind of purpose other than fighting. If that was the case, why did he pick someone like him for DNA, even moreso than with the weak power issue? He wasn't particularly talented in anything other than fighting, was he? As far as he was aware, it was all he was ever good at, all he ever really enjoyed doing. He supposed he was getting pretty good at it and was starting to gain a bit more finesse in how he actually carried out his attacks, but that didn't make the big difference for something like this, right? How was he supposedly worthy of something like that? He didn't have any kind of vast intellect, and he certainly didn't have a lot of transferrable skills to doing anything other than punching something's face in. Was it possible that maybe he was just one of the ones considered for the combat aspect of this bio-man? Maybe that was even more of a compliment, if he thought about it that way. He seemed quite genuinely perplexed by the idea, though he doubted Kaijin cared much about that, so he wasn't going to bug him more with questions about it. For now, anyway.
He perked up when he heard the confirmation that he'd be able to 'test out' the capabilities of the new bio-warrior once he did come around. "You got it! I'll do my best to let you figure out what you need to know about his limits, and all that. As long as you don't mind me having fun while I do it, or anything!" The saiyan chuckled. As much as he did have that incredible desire for battle and combat all the time, he found that as he fought more powerful opponents, it was actually getting slightly easier to control. Though he never really had an issue giving in to his impulses, he was beginning to see the advantage in not just acting on them whenever they caused a slight twinge within his psyche. Really, as much as his body could sometimes ache to lay violence into something, it was much more muted than it used to be. Before, he would fight anything he saw, trying to pick a scrap with just about anybody he had come across. He was the type to just do whatever he wanted, and that was it. He was still sort of like that, to an extent anyway, but he had a hankering for something more, these days.
At least he wasn't the only one, though. Listening to Kaijin speak, it was almost a bit humbling to be getting life lessons from a synthetic person. Yet, maybe he had a pretty good perspective on the whole thing. He knew what it was like to be brought into the world with the full intelligence you needed to function and without anybody really influencing him, though maybe he had programming, that sort of thing along with it. Still, it didn't change the fact that he was right about what he said. That if Zarun wanted to find a purpose and make some kind of difference, he needed to actually figure out what it was he wanted from that purpose, first of all. He knew he wanted a reason to fight, some kind of higher ideal, something to devote himself to. Something to bring glory to so that when he eventually encountered his people in the way that he wanted, approaching them and asking to be one of them, he could point to it and he could say that it proved his ability in battle, that he was worthy of their time, and that he might eventually become worthy of being a Saiyan warrior. He couldn't stand the idea that they were all so far away, yet he didn't want to disgrace them with his presence. He supposed...that did give him a better idea of what he was looking for. Yeah. It did. He smiled at the Android as he turned away, a genuine warmth in his expression as he nodded appreciatively, whether or not the doctor could see him do it. "Thanks."
As Kaijin hurtled away through the sky, Zarun was sort of left in awe and confusion. Well, he had an idea of what he wanted - where did he find it? Maybe he could find things the way he usually did; tracking high power levels! Yes, he'd do that. The next one he found, he was going to rush straight to it, but make sure to investigate first before he got into any fighting.
That'd be a first for him.
