Sector: West Quadrant
Planet: Planet Katchin
Saiyan Dominion Territory...
Interestingly enough, Kamui's travels rarely brought him to the West Quadrant. There was little reason to. The planets that dotted the West Quadrant rarely interested him ever since he had joined Crusher Corps. Before, the Planet Hera was the only planet in the quadrant which meant anything to him, and this alone was merely because the Heran race was a rather talented and crafty race, and made for excellent pirates. They also had a reputation for holding quite a bit of power behind them, a reputation that only rang true, considering that a great deal of his crew consisted of Herans.
Other than that, the West Quadrant was typically ignored by the former pirate. Until now.
The Crusher Corps' allegiance with the Saiyan Dominion, while established on the grounds of mutual benefits, was still rather shaky. Queen Radia and her Saiyan army waged war against Emperor Polaris, with Crusher Corps' support in the background, the Kabochan organization trying to keep its' nose out of direct conflict. However, one couldn't simply stay put for long, and an alliance had to be nurtured in order to keep it from falling apart, hence Kamui's reason for being in this quadrant at all.
Kamui still didn't like the vague nature of the mission, and what it could mean for him and his crew aboard The Dread Spectre. An opponent capable of slaying an entire village of Saiyans.....
------------------------------------------------
A week and a half prior
Aboard the Dread Spectre, in orbit above Planet Cane. East Quadrant.
"Come in." Kamui said, quickly moving to reattach his rebreather to his face. The Frost Demon was more machine than man at this point. A great deal of Kamui's body had been maimed beyond the point of no return after a lovely interaction with a Heran Mercenary in the Southern Quadrant. As a result, a Cosmic Suit had been produced, combining the latest galactic technology with Kamui's own living tissue and natural Bio Suit, resulting in what could be considered a cybernetic skin, that happened to take up the great majority of Kamui's body. Extra additions were even made to enhance Kamui's mental capacity and physical capabilities with cybernetics, which resulted in a complete change on the man's part. A faster, smarter Changeling. A cross between robot and organic being.
However, the technology was mere mimicry of what was supposed to be natural biological functions, and required a great deal of maintenance to ensure Kamui's continued survival. Thus, he often shut himself in his private office for hours on end to bathe himself in rejuvenation chemicals and to allow his cybernetic technology to self correct any anomalies present within itself before Kamui reattached the limbs via Telekinesis.
Kamui had just finished said process when he heard a knock on the door. He had not been expecting anyone lately, but if someone deemed it fit to knock on his door right at the end of his scheduled self care session, then it must have been something important.
It better be something important.
Upon Kamui's permission for entry, the door slowly swung open, and in came one of his favorite people.
Zephyrus, a red skinned Xeno and a recent addition to Kamui's crew. Zephyrus was a loyal Crusher Corps Sergeant who had spent the majority of his young career in service of the Kabochan Confederacy. A calm strategist and an absolutely lethal warrior, Zephyrus impressed the Frost Demon Lieutenant rather quickly, swiftly eclipsing most of his other soldiers with a power level just above sixty thousand. Given Zephyrus's longer tenure of service, he served as a reliable source of information for Kamui, and as such Kamui had allowed the Xeno to thrive under him. His calm nature and general uncaring attitude for Kamui's controversial past had allowed for a swift partnership to be formed between the two.
Bowing lightly, Zephyrus stood before Kamui, prompting the Changeling to use his metallic tail to cause the chair to swivel on its' axis, only stopping the spin with the chair was correctly facing Zephyrus. Only then, did the reddish orange Xeno begin to speak.
""New assignment from the Confederacy. Assisting our allies in the Saiyan Dominion."
Kamui cocked his head curiously, his interest now piqued. So far, his mission was to secure Planet Cane until further orders were given out, a task that had yielded mixed results so far. Now, there was another mission. And one that involved Saiyans?
"Saiyans are always fun." Kamui responded in jest, the metallic sound of his voice as it echoed through the voice modulator over where his mouth should be causing an already bad attempt at sarcasm to be completely lost to his alien sergeant. Taking a moment to clear his throat, Zephyrus simply moved on with the mission report.
"Reports of strange sightings on Saiyan occupied worlds. A world formerly known as "Frieza #103", a former occupied colony world for the Planet Trade Organization, before its' collapse. Entire village slaughtered by an unknown entity."
Now that captured the Frost Demon's attention. Saiyans were a hardy race, and were known for their unparalleled brutality and thirst for combat, in which they were especially adept in. Kamui himself had a few Saiyans under his command, and found their combat sense vastly superior to even his finest Brench officers. To slaughter an entire encampment of them was never an easy feat. And the fact that it was an unidentified threat...
"Is that so? No surveillance? No survivors?" Kamui pondered, a metallic hand reaching to stroke an equally metallic chin. Surely, there had to be something?
"Nothing that was provided to us in the distress signal. Normally, the Dominion would send Saiyan Elites to handle the issue, for it is in within their own territory, but the stress of war has left them rather shorthanded. So, they reach out to us. The Confederacy believes that assisting the Dominion in a matter such as this will improve diplomatic relations in the future."
Kamui nodded. He saw the importance of such a task. If successful, it could help ease the Confederacy into the alliance a bit more than they already were, and would help his own reputation amongst the Confederacy as well. Kamui was still considered a bit of a loose cannon by his current superiors, and was watched carefully as a result. A situation such as this could prove..advantageous.
"What are we to do?"
"Guard Planet Katchin, a desert world under Saiyan control in the Western Quadrant. Intel suggests the threat is still within Saiyan Dominion territory, and all worlds are to occupied by either Saiyan ships or contracted Confederate ships."
"Then set course for Planet Katchin." Kamui ordered, his tail once again striking the floor, causing the chair to gradually swivel on its' axis, turning away from Zephyrus, leaving the metallic Changeling to ponder in silence.
------------------------------------
Present Day. Planet Katchin, West Quadrant.
And here he was.
Leaving his crew of the Dread Spectre on board that vessel, Kamui had decided to venture alone to the surface of the planet and make contact with the Saiyans who had contracted Crusher Corps to meet with. Kamui made haste in the final approach to the planet when he caught wind of an emergency distress signal flashing across the bridge monitors.
What was supposed to be an hour until final descent upon the planet became a little more than twenty minutes, and now by the half hour point Kamui was racing across the skies of Katchin, the endless dunes of the hot desert world beating on his metallic skin. His computerized brain struggling to form a good connection with the nearby settlement in which the distress signal had been traced back to. The increased gravity was of little issue to him, the Changeling himself having been to a plethora of planets that exhibited similar gravity.
Finally, it seemed, a link was established. Whether anyone would answer was yet to be seen.
"Confederacy Operative Kamui Solaris, reporting. Tell me the nature of your emergency." The Frost Demon ordered as he raced through the skies. He would either get an answer, or continue to trace the initial distress beacon back to the origin, or both. Whichever came about first.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary: Kamui arrives to planet, hurries to make contact with Saiyans who sent out the distress signal! Kamui is currently heading to where the distress signal was last traced to!

Shortly before Mecha Kamui's arrival some of the Saiyans in the village would find Beet's corpse, though too ignorant to notice the discarded Yautja's bio-mask hidden mostly beneath the old Saiyan's bed. Entering a panic they surround the village in a defensive perimeter in a panic, the children even taking sniping positions. It was amusing for Bones to watch from her hidden position, but she wasn't interested in the Saiyans, just using them as bait. When Kamui had arrived the Saiyans had settled down a bit, but nonetheless remained alert and ready, the children back in their beds while others began to tend to Beet's body though the task hadn't proceeded too far yet. This was mostly due to being interrupted as Beet's comm-link device came to life and a voice echoed from it. Beet's message had reached someone! " Send some of the older trainees out into the wild, we'll wait here for this newcomer's aide..." A small score of Saiyans would then spill out of the village, spreading out into the desert in attempt to find Bones, who in return counter stalked these weak warriors. " Ahem, yes, this is Root. I'm a soldier of the Saiyan Dominion and our General was the one who sent out the distress call shortly before he was murdered...We don't know who they are or where they are, but we're pretty sure they're close by...Beet was strong, a power level of 53,000, but we can't sense anything nearly as powerful nearby. What kind of sense does that make....We need help man....We're ready to fight, but none of us could even lay a finger on Beet, so we're lost without aide!" Lowering the comm-link from his lips for a moment Root would attempt to calm his nerves, he was being built to become an Elite, he had to act like one! Whipping his tail until it stopped trembling and remained firm he'd proceed to force it to wrap itself around his waist, his nerve resolved. NOTES; Doctor Kaijin Vex MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

How interesting.
It seemed out of all the Confederate relief ships sent, his own vessel had hit the jackpot. A murder of a strong Saiyan Elite, whose power level rivaled even some of those within his elite squadron. Well...kind of. And in a similar fashion to the slaughter of the Mountain Tribe on Frieza #103. There must have been a connection between the two. Of what kind, Kamui did not know as of yet, for the details that he was being given now were as vague as the "official" report that he received from the Confederacy, which was given to them by the Saiyan Dominion. How he was supposed to make an educated analysis on the potential assassin, the gods only knew. However, he was aware that this assassin in question was quite skilled, and quite powerful. Able to assassinate a Saiyan Elite in a village full of battle ready Saiyans, training to become soldiers. Able to best a battle hardened warrior with a power level around fifty three thousand.
And it seemed to know how to conceal its' power level as well, a fact that baffled the Saiyan known as "Root", it seemed. Unfortunate how such a hardy skill was lost on someone such as him. No wonder the assassin was able to kill the General and make a getaway so quickly. The Saiyans in question weren't even attentive for threats that didn't scream "threat" out at them.
And people wondered why Kamui was so picky with his higher ranked soldiers.
"Root, is it?" Kamui repeated as he stopped in midair, deeming it fit to hover for a bit. His own power level was scaled down to just over ten thousand, making it easier for him to move without attracting unnecessary attention. He was close to the village. Another five or so minutes and he would arrive. However, he was seeing another opportunity arise.
"You say this assassin murdered the strongest man in your village, and that none of you could lay a finger on him. So my question to you is....why would you believe it a good idea to send scouts who stood no chance to follow said assassin?" Kamui questioned briefly, his metallic tail swinging back and forth, showing his mild annoyance at such a move. It was a suicide mission, for depending on how soon after Beet's death did the Saiyans discover his body, the assassin could still be nearby. And with no hardy way to track the assassin's Ki Signature on one's scouter, they were sitting ducks.
Instead of hunting, they were being hunted.
Kamui's job was to find and eliminate the threat. Not fortify the village. They were Saiyans, and were not people to underestimate. Plus, they knew the village's layout better than he did, so they would be much better when it came to defenses....as well as an investigation.
"Listen closely. You are to remain my contact throughout this. You will follow everything I say, and do what I say to the best of your ability. If you cannot, give my communication line to someone who can." Kamui said bluntly. Time was of the essence, and he didn't have time to be playing around.
"You sent poorly equipped scouts on a mission that will most definitely end in their death. Or it might not. However, I will assist them in their scouting. What you are to do as of right now is two things. The first thing is fortify the village. You obviously cannot rely upon scouters or other sensing abilities you may have to deal with this threat. So, you must deal with it the old fashioned way. Your natural five senses. Fortify the village, make sure there isn't a single gap for the enemy to slip back in."
"What you are to do next is to search for clues. Assassins are crafty, and specialize in secrecy and silent killing. There may be evidence, but it may be subtle. Go to where you found Beet's body, and search the surrounding area. Leave no stone unturned, and report anything of note to me. Meanwhile, I will accompany your scouting team." Kamui said as he moved to switch directions.
His Detection System activated over his HUD, Kamui became aware of a plethora of energy sources. The most prominent, as well as the closest being the village in which Kamui was originally heading to. If Kamui's theorizing was correct, because Root didn't know the finer points to power concealing, he could assume that him and the other older Saiyan trainees didn't know how to conceal their power, meaning they would pop up on his radar.
Sure enough, such a notion would prove correct, as Kamui would soon be able to detect several scattered power levels across several points in the vast desert. All heading in their respective directions, but obviously didn't travel far enough to create too wide a gap between each other. They were scouts afterall, which required slower movement and lower altitude, in order to pay attention to the surrounding landscape, for any signs of recent movement of disturbances to the environmental equilibrium.
Dropping from low altitude floating, Kamui lowered his power level even more, down to an even four thousand. One thing he liked about his prosthetic limbs was that because they were completely artificial, his legs couldn't physically get tired. He could run for hours on end. There would be fatigue involved from such, of course, but at a much slower rate since they were artificial in creation. It also meant he could move much faster on foot then the normal person (paired with the fact that the Changeling was naturally quick, something he trained and honed over his childhood). Preparing himself slightly, Kamui shot across the desert, intent to track down the Saiyan scouts, and potentially the Yautja hunter, while remaining relatively unknown to either.
Using the Saiyans as bait, essentially. He would save them, of course, if they survived. But, casualties were to be expected when dealing with someone of this power.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Summary: Kamui changed tact! Ordering Root to fortify the village against further attack and to also investigate the site of Beet's Murder for clues while Kamui was away, Kamui took off in pursuit of the scouting team in the hopes of encountering the mysterious assassin!

Chuckling as she dropped another dying Saiyan into the now bloody sands of Katchin, Bones would tap her gauntlet a few times. Popping up a hologrom diagram of space above the planet. Focusing on the section of space where the newcomer's had left their ship Bones would proceed to direct her own ship, perfectly stealthed and veiled in the blackness of space much like her own camouflage technology, or rather it's weapon systems. In another few moments a loud " BWANG" could be heard even from the surface of the planet, a large sonic charge having been fired with equal invisibility, appearing only at the last second before it exploded. Stretching outward in a whitish blue ring of sonic and concussive energy threatened to crash into Kamui's "parked" vessel as Bones' own ship remained unmoving, untraceable. The Yautja had perfected their technology over centuries of exile, the had returned, perfecting the art of the hunt. Letting out a triumphant bellow that would echo across the sands and into the Carrot-Top Village Bones would once more vanish from sight herself, moving on then to slay more scouts. Like her ship Bones was untraceable, even when not using her camouflage the Yautja's energy couldn't be sensed, the sweat they secreted also carried a special chemical when exposed to light makes filming them, etc. also impossible due to the unique flare phenomenon. On top of this her species' body tissues were, while extremely thick and durable, extremely light meaning the Yautja left no imprints, be it sand, mud, etc. Things like water would be displaced, but such hazards no longer effected their invisibility camouflage. However it was truly the Yautja that was their greatest enemy to their stealth, once having found and deeming a target worthy they would fight outright. In the distance over sandy slopes flashes of blue and white could then be seen, Bones using her rapid fire Plasma Caster to obliterate her next few targets in quick succession, while the attacks could be visibly seen they couldn't be sensed, appearing as if they were fired from nowhere. Then things fell silent, Bones returning to full stealth as she sensed her target approaching from a distance. The way their power level had adjusted already left her believing that they were indeed the opponent she had been looking for, burned for. Even without her helmet Bones was a master tracker like many of her caste, supernaturally so. Still, she wanted to watch her target from afar a bit longer, and so she would, leaving a few of the Saiyan scouts out in the desert to be found alive, the others sprawled about lifeless.
Root was left trembling again, Kamui's presence and his words had broken the warrior-trainee where he stood causing him to loosen the belt hold his tail had around his waist. By time the Frost Demon cyborg had left Root hadn't said another word, just gulped and nodded slightly. Gnawing at his lip before then setting out to better fortify the village's perimeter Root would then lead a group back to Beet's hut for further investigation. In this endeavor Root himself would foolishly, and accidentally, kick Bones' Bio-mask under Beet's bed, erasing any advantage the group might have over Bones at least for now. The mistake was that attached to Bones' Bio-mask was a unique addition to the device, a smaller sonic charge, minute even in comparison to what her ship had shot at Kamui's. BWANG!As Kamui raced through the skies he was not only faced with the sonic explosion above, but the one behind him as well as the village was attacked. Smaller in size, the explosion and damage it'd produce would be notably different, but was enough to kill everyone inside or near Beet's hut. Structural damage and the like would spread throughout the rest of the town however, injuring numerable more warriors along the way as well. This explosion would send Bones' Bio-mask flying outward and toward the edge of the settlement, crashing through a window and landing inside of a make-shift empty sink. Bones would chuckle then silently within the confines of her scaly head. NOTES; Doctor Kaijin Vex MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Tension hung thick in the air aboard The Dread Spectre. Zephyrus in turn had argued with Kamui for what could've been forty five minutes over accompanying the Frost Demon to the surface, but the cyborg had made his intent clear. He was to travel alone to the surface. The more people, the harder it would be to catch an assassin, and the more liabilities Kamui had on his plate. Liabilities that he didn't want to deal with.
Which was something the Sergeant resented. He liked Kamui as a boss, and as a person. But he didn't like being referred to as a liability. As true as it may have been. A fighter capable of slaughtering an entire village of Saiyans, and without so much as a trace, or a hint of it being there. A trained assassin. It was a tough situation, but Zephyrus wanted to be in the thick of the action. He wanted to assist his commander.
"I have to get down there..." The red Xeno muttered, turning as if to head towards a Parasite Pod. However, he was stopped halfway by someone else.
"You know that's a bad idea." Zakyos said.
Zakyos was a Brench Crusher Corps officer who was another recent transfer, transferred to Kamui's crew along with Zephyrus. The red Xeno found himself surprised to see the blue skinned Xeno up and about. Zakyos was mainly found in his quarters or commanding soldiers on the lower levels of the ship. He rarely came about to the bridge like this.
"It's not safe for the commander down there alone with an assassin who we barely know anything about!" Zephyrus protested.
"And our assistance will solve everything? You are confident in your own strength, as am I....but the commander is on a completely different level of power. He can hold his own down there. Remember, his raw power rivals Emperor Carambolis himself."
Zephyrus nodded briefly, realizing the fact to be true. Kamui was stronger than all of them, and was more than capable of handling his own out in the field. They had their job, and he had his.
Not to mention their job was about to get a whole lot harder. All of a sudden, a rather powerful force struck the ship, sending it suddenly lurching. The lights dimmed and flickered as the power faltered for a moment.
"Dammit! Shields up! We're under attack! Full power to shields! I want full scanning range extended to search for enemy dropships!"
---------------------------------------------------------
Shit.
He had never expected an assault upon his flagship, nor did he expect a second attack from the village. What did this mean? Were there multiple assassins? What type of firepower did they have? There were so many unanswered questions. So many variables that Kamui couldn't figure out where they came from.
As much as Kamui wanted to return to the Dread Spectre to assess damage, he couldn't, nor would putting through a call help now. He had to leave them to their own devices for now, and trust in their training. His soldiers were well disciplined and powerful in their own right. Whatever they were facing, Kamui was confident in their ability to suppress it.
As for the Saiyan village, Kamui tried contacting Root, but to no avail. Communications had been cut between himself and the Saiyan Elite in training. He would have to find someone else to speak to, but at the moment that was also a secondary objective. His own objective was the only active one remaining. And he had to ensure that at least he would make it out of that mission alive.
Soon, he would have to contact his Saiyan allies, and ensure most of them didn't die. The same with his own soldiers. But right now, he had to find his opponents.
In light of the news in which detecting Ki Signatures was impossible when dealing with these assassins, Kamui took a page from his battle with Mark I, and as a result switched his detection tech from Ki sensory to heat detection, making heat signatures his primary method of detection.
And sure enough, he got something. At least, for a moment. Several heat signatures lit up across his vision, which prompted him to race forward. The Saiyan scouts, Kamui could sense their power levels. They were being attacked! Several power levels dropped. This could be his chance to catch something! Sure enough, as Kamui drew close, he could see a single heat signature standing amongst others. And upon reaching out with his senses...no power level from that exact point. It had to be the assassin!
But just as fast as he had noticed the presence, it vanished. No trace of it.
Touching down upon the sands, Kamui looked around frantically for any trace of the being that he was able detect just moments ago. No prints. No scent. Nothing. That was impossible! He didn't see the enemy blast away! How...could he have gotten away? Did the enemy have some form of camouflage, or perhaps a teleportation ability?
Kamui grimaced, an annoyed grunt escaping his lips as he examined the bodies that were left, recently deceased. The kills were quick, and extremely recent. The assassin had been there mere seconds prior....
But where was it now? Post Count: 3 | Word Count: 3,262 | @li

Undaunted. Her target moved fast, picking up speeds seemingly in the aftermath of the attacks. This quarry was worthy indeed! Mentally laughing she'd remain standing atop a sand dune watching from above Mecha Kamui's location, moon booms casting right through her as her perfect camouflage blended to it's environment effectively, ever reactive. The being seemed to be equal parts organic and machine, having opted to remove her helmet earlier though as a means to handicap herself, she couldn't tell the organic or metal origins, but this mattered little to Bones in the long run. Increasing the challenge of any hunt was a chance to further hone her skills and scale her power upward, especially in the case of fighting without her Bio-mask, a key in the Yautja's tools of trade. With the Yautja's own normal vision being a unique infrared she saw the environment mostly as varying shades of red, the darkest being the coolest, with the hottest being yellow. Picking up on the dead Saiyans and then pinpointing her target as one with a lower body temperature she'd note this, unaware of what she was fighting she'd opt to do further examinations and assessments after she acquired her kill.
" Gahhhyykkkk....Ughhh....Hh....Helllll......Helppp meeehh....I...I have a...fammil.." Gasping a final time the wounded Saiyan nearest to Kamui would then blink until he perished in the night like his comrades. In the distance however a lone female Saiyan remained gulping, hands pressed against the wound in her stomach in attempt to avoid bleeding out though she knew she had likely be mortally wounded anyways. " Hey...Heyyyy....Roo...Root told us about you just before we lost contact...Ughhh...you might be a Frost Demon and I might hate your kind, but...I don't want anymore of my people dying...That thing out there is huge, I saw it just for a second. I think it's almost nine foot tall, reptilian maybe? Big, but light on their feet, they've got at least a spear that I could see and some shoulder mounted thing that spits blue energy, tore me up good ay'? Ughh...And not that it matters, but I think it's a she" Focusing on managing her pain and stabilizing her condition the Saiyan would then let her head rest back against the sand, hoping Kamui was the savior they sought. What was truly happening?
The assassin was still here, that was for sure. If the Saiyan male disappearing didn't prove that, Kamui wasn't sure exactly what will. But the issue remained, and it pressed deeply on the Changeling's mind. A dangerous foe was out there, undetectable by nearly all means. Capable of slaughtering all these Saiyans with relatively little struggle. It was enough to set a lesser man on edge enough to flee.
A lesser man, that is.
Alerted to the call that was the wounded Saiyan female, Kamui moved to kneel before, his eyes cautiously examining her frame. She was mortally wounded, that much was definite as he examined her center mess, or rather what was her center mass. Now, it was a bloody pulp of torn flesh and punctured organs. Kamui was no healer, but figured that even if he was to fly the Saiyan to a healer, or teleport him back to their ship, she would be long gone before anything could be prepared to save her. Thus, the best he could do were to ease her last few moments, and try and gain as much information he could from her dying frame before her world faded to black.
The information was scarce, but it was something. To question the Saiyan further would be pressing the issue. And it was as she said, she only saw the being who attacked her for a second, before the assassin had taken her down along with the rest of her team. So, he had a general outline of the beast and confirmation that she was still nearby, as shown by the vanishing Saiyan male who was most likely no longer breathing.
"Rest now. I will deal with the assassin. I promise you." Kamui said, standing up, and allowing the Saiyan Scouts the last few moments to find her peace before fading. The Changeling himself walked away slightly to create distance between himself and her, before his eyes narrowed.
If the assassin was still around, she would be wary of Kamui's actions. He was not foolish enough to assume that his prowling about had gone unnoticed by the hunter who had so swiftly dispatched her last pursuers. If she wanted a fight, she'd get one.
Flexing his fingers slightly, Kamui's power suddenly exploded outwards, his body becoming enveloped in a violent teal aura. To those capable of sensing energy, Kamui's power level would explode from his suppressed four thousand to well beyond one hundred thousand, his very aura shaking the ground and sending clouds of dust/sand flying in all directions. His method of thinking was if the assassin was truly intent on ensuring that no one would pose a threat to her in the future, and to rid herself of her pursuers, then she would move to pounce upon him as well. After all, if she was truly as untraceable as Kamui noticed she was, there was no reason to kill the Saiyan Scouts, for they posed no threat to her, for they wouldn't find her anyway. However, she not only dispatched them, but left some of them alive (albeit temporarily) enough to warn any others who responded to the scene. So, the assassin knew of Kamui's presence already, and the fact that she didn't hightail it as soon as she killed the Saiyans meant that she was stalking him already.
Thus, it was only courteous to let the assassin know that he too, was waiting for her.
