MOTIVATIONS: As someone who grew up in various states of “on the run”, Amara’s greatest pass-time was watching the various dated transmissions of old martial arts tournaments and underground fighting rings. Due to this, she developed a strong adoration for skillful fighters and desires to one day be the fighter that holds countless victory belts high above her head.
QUIRKS: ‘Quirky’ is, indeed, a good word to use when describing the likes of Amara. She is a caricature of playful whimsy, often prioritizing amusement over efficiency… most often in the form of sassy banter, through which a grin is near constantly found on her lips. Given her upbringing being one of constant relocation and sudden need for disappearances, she can be described as ‘aloof’ at best and ‘flighty’ at worst.
BONDS: Amara has little in the way of ‘bonds’. Her parents kept hold of her only as long as it took them to be confident in her ability to survive on her own before abandoning her to the harsh realities of life in the deep black. Her closest companions are the members of a small pirate crew that she joined up with in her early teenage years, though most of them have since been incarcerated or have gone missing.
BACKSTORY: Born to a pair of fugitive Saiyans, Amara has never known any particular sense of stability. Even throughout her early years, common lessons in etiquette and socialization were foregone and replaced instead by a thievery handbook. Though she was a potent enough youth simply by virtue of her heritage and the conditions of her upbringing, Amara was left to her own devices during her preteen years; she was seen to be a distraction by her parents, an agent that reduced the speed at which they might elude authorities. There never was a ‘Bonnie, Clyde, and Child’, after all!
Amara was able to survive on her own relatively effortlessly for a small handful of years, using her naturally superior strength to strong-arm her way out of sticky situations. However, it only took that long for her own bounty to rise enough to gain a small level of renown among local law enforcement elements and she was forced to decide between following in her parents’ footsteps or to go into hiding. Instead, she chose to put her own spin on the aimless crime of her parents and joined up with a small pirate crew, one that both gave her a ‘home’ and a guided means of eluding the law.
Over time, the various members of her crew were caught out on raid after raid, until only a handful remained. They hatched a plan to break their crew out of their various legal holdings, but Amara decided not to risk her own freedom for those that were foolish enough to get caught and took her leave. She was then free to return to the galaxy alone and again on her own terms.
CALL TO ACTION: Now free to conduct herself… mostly how she would like, given that her individual bounty has gone unnoticed for many years, Amara desires to focus her attentions on growing as a fighter and as a Saiyan- to become more than a petty criminal.
