Simple stuff, but it has to be said. If the rules say you roll a d100 or something, roll that die. Don't roll the mathematical equivalent or whatever.
For example you know 1d100+5 is the same as 1d20+1 mathematically. So you roll the latter.
Don't do that.

What if it's a chance roll, like my 30% to cripple? Do I use 1d100 or can I use 1d10?

^ 30% would be anything 30 or less on a 1d100. Rather than anything 7 and higher on a 1d10.

Yeah, it's important to remember that there are some rolls that are like 35% as well, which wouldn't roll on a 1d10 and it may be confusing to go between a 1d100 and a 1d10 for some folks. So keeping it universal is key.
