Middleton was a small, cramped in between town. It was a mostly unassuming little down South of some larger city and east of a capital city. Most people could not find it on a map if they tried, most people did not know it existed. The little town sported a couple of farms, a magic show, an old and overused fighting ring, and a spooky haunted house with a turtle in it. Yes it was one of those towns. A weird one.
The mayor of Middleton was a tall, lanky man by the name of Mr. Mason. He always wore a three piece suit, a monocle, and walked around with a glossy, stern looking cane.
He had a habit of hitting people with it he did not like, or just anyone who would stare at him for to long. Mr. Mason was an odd fello to most but to those in Middleton he was as homely as apple pie, not that they ate apple pie here.
No one really knew how Middleton supported itself, most people would guess that it was because of the traffic they could receive from the major cities but you would be surprised. A closer look into their treasurer's reports would tell you a different story indeed. You see ever since the invention of the flying mobiles most folk just flew right over Middleton without ever even knowing it was there. A couple of times someone would crash during a thunder storm but they had a local wizard who would redirect the vehicular devices into a "dead zone" they called it.
Kids would always like to come out right after a thunder storm to see what they could scrounge up before the big adult folk showed up. Yes middleton was a strange town but it was a lot stranger then people would think. The farmer was a one eyed man with a peg leg named Joe, the wizard was an old hag named haggis, easy to remember, why no one called her a witch? No one really knows why, that's just the way middleton is, it is a weird strange place. Probably the strangest thing about middleton was the fact that not many people ever left middleton. Those who stayed there for too long, well, they just tend to settle down. That is just the way it was. A comfy unassuming out of the way place where you could get away from trouble and rest your head. It was always welcoming, the food was always hot and the people were friendlier then hell.... Well most of them, in their own weird ways.
To certain folk Middleton was a mecca of its own. You see it had within in it's carnival a fun house. Those who went into the fun house could try and find the "Wish Master" and anyone who found the mysterious wish master would have any dream or desire of theirs granted! The problem was no one ever really found the Wish Master and a whole lot of folk would go missing trying to find him. It was weird? But then again so was Middleton. It was a weird, strange place.
One a detective showed up looking for someone in Middleton, his name was Detective John Martin. Now Mr. John Martin looked high and he looked low and when he came across the fun house he had it decommissioned. You see he could not stand it. He kept claiming that it would change and act all weird and that people would go missing in it. But he never went missing. Everyone knows where John Martin lives. Mr. John Martin is a farmer here now. He will not let anyone in the fun house but people still come in. Strange folk from all over into some weird stuff known as "the Occult" Most of them come in for about a day or two and they leave but some of them do not. Some actually run off for strange reasons or are never seen again, some stick around and find work, Like Mr. John Martin! But that is just Middleton, a strange and weird place. filled with strange and weird folk who can not wait for you to come and visit.

V3 eyed his map a little more intensely as he flyed through the country side for the tenth time. He was looking for something a place called Middleton?
"Yea right more like middle of nowhere ton!" He cried out in frustration. Weeks ago while he was online trying to buy a dragonball radar so that he could go on his quest to make a super special wish, he found something else online about a "Wish Master" A strange figure who could supposedly grant any wish or desire someone might have. He figured, that since he was hunting for Dragonballs to summon a mysterious powerful dragon then why not also do this. It made since at the time so he did.
During his varies journeys throughout different time he did manage to find one dragon ball. He did not know it was real or not and it took him a lot of work to find it but it was something. and somethings were better than no things. As he circled an area in which he was sure the town had to be in, he noticed a patch of storm clouds in the distance.
"Ohh boy I better find a place to land or something." He began to look down and into the open plains to find some sort of shelter. As he analyzed the ground a strong wind picked up and sent his map spiraling out of his hands and in the direction of the storm.
"Ohh dag nabbit! that's my favorite map!"
He speed up, attempting to catch up with it, not realizing the error in his ways until it was much to late. The storm had picked up much faster and came at him much harder than he could have anticipated. It kicked him up higher and higher into the sky. Were he not so stubborn and left his map go he might have been fine but he would not relent. As he narrowed the gap between his map and he a bolt of lightning came arching down through the clouds and like hell fire it snapped him back and throw him off balance mid-flight. Sending him spiraling out of control and into the hard ground below. A plot of earth then followed as the storm began to subside, it landed all over and on him. Making it very difficult for him to move around in.
Within moments the storm had gone, as quickly as it came. Nothing else had changed much. Just the earth around him, and the fact that his map had left.
"Umm okay?" He said as he broke the surface of a large plot of wet earth that had somehow smashed into him. As he climbed up onto the dirt he could see smoked off in the distance and the silhouette of six small figures were racing towards him, children it would seem.
He could now see behind them the outskirts of a town that he swore had not been there before.
"What the? Ok now I know I passed by there before?" Scratching his head he could not understand his mistake. It was a curious experience, a strange experience, a weird one...
Dusting himself off he began to make his way towards the kids. His jeans were slightly ripped as well as his black shirt but other than that V himself was fine. The initial shock of lightning was a bit rough until he hit solid ground. That seemed to help , somehow. As if the actual impact made his sensors forget about the shock.
"How is the sky so clear all of a sudden?" He thought to himself as he looked up into the endless sky above him. It was suddenly a beautiful afternoon birds could be seen clearly in the distance, acting as if nothing at all had happened, but the scorch mark on his should blade told him otherwise. The creeping pain taking hold of his back as it lingered far beyond it welcome.
"This doesn't make a lick of sense!" V said to himself, trying to ignore the pain.
"Now I am no motorologist but I am pretty sure the sun should not be out if its raining or storming. Hmmmm... man whatever."
As he continued to walk forward into the distance he made a mental note of how lovely the landscape was, the hills seemed to surround the countryside here, as if the entireity of the plains were in a large green bowl, the grasslands were lush and green and there was only one single road, from what he could tell, which lead from south to north east.
"Hey mister!" A child spoke as the two groups finally reached each other. It was a strange child. The kid was no more then 14 years old wearing long colorful socks, mismatching socks, and two different, overly worn sneakers. One of which was a size to small so it seems that the youth had to cut a hole by the toes to make them work.
"Where is your car?"
"My what?" "Ohh you know. Your flying car!" The kid spoke as he gasped for air, still trying to catch his breath, he had outrun the rest of the boys by a factor of a hundred or so yard.
"Listen little girl, I don't got time to be talking to you about cars or flying. I got a wish master to find."
"Hey! I am a boy!" The youth cried out. "i am 13 years old and my name is Mel..."
"Yea whatever, Mel, that's a girls name by the way. Anyways look! Just point me in the direction of the wish master and I'll tell you all about flying and cars."
"Where's his car?!" Another couple of youths cried out as they finally made it to the scene, this time it was a pair of twins, both red headed freckled children. Nothing different or strange about these two except that one was taller than the other, slightly, and the fact that they had...blue? freckles.
"Listen I didn't dri..." "Where is is car!!!!" the final three kids finally also making it two brown headed little boys and a fat little one on a bike. That was kind of sad V thought to himself.
"He says he won't tell us where it us unless we point him in the direction of the wish master"
"Boooooo! that's not fair they all cried out!"
"What? why is that not fair, ya'll live here you should know where to go."
"No one knows where the Wish master is stupid!" The original boy cried out, standing with the group now V could tell he was the second tallest of the bunch, next to the fat one, who sported a bowel cut, high knee socks, and some cargo shorts that were perhaps a size to small, pressing his stomach up and out of the bottom of his shirt over his shorts.
"Alright alright alright look.... If you kids help me find the Wish master... I will get you all a car, deal?"
The pack of boys all stared at each other now in a determined silence, the original boy, who's name appeared to be Melvin, as one of the kids mentioned it during their quieted conversation, made a series of hand signals for the boys. The then huddled up and began to discuss the matter with the seriousness and weight of a major league coin flip, assuming those are serious.
"Ok!" Melvin finally spoke up, it was obvious now that he was the leader of this ragtag band of misfits. We will take you to the abandoned fun house where no one is allowed to go to because of Mr. John Martin, other kids snickered in the back as he said this name, but then after that you will get us a car.
"What do you kids need a car for anyways? There is only one road here?" "It's None of your business mister blonde!
"Fine whatever, look just take me to the Wish Master and I will get you a car."
"No!" Melvin spoke out, looking to his crew as if needed confirmation. Within seconds they all started to shake their heads vigorously.
"You will get us a flying car!"
"Ok sure sure a flying car what ever just take me to that place, all this sun might not be good for my hair"

In a dimly lit corridor illuminated by a thin bio-spheres attached to the walls A thin, tall man hovered over a wall of monitors. In each monitor there were separate rooms filled with people trying various different tasks. Some involving jigsaw puzzles other involving feats of athleticism. They were, all of them, trying to accomplish the same goal. Escape the maze and subsequent death trap they had found themselves in. The man hovered stoically, not speaking a word or moving a muscle as he observed individuals, some of which would be dead within the minute.
As a door behind him slide open, revealing a long arching hallway the man raised his hand. "Wait" He spoke in a hushed and cold manner. Whoever it was at the door stopped right away, almost as if there became paralyzed or gripped by something fast and powerful.
The mans long fingers reached over to a nob on the control panel he sat in front of and began to turn the dial, fast at first and then slowly again. The sound on one of the monitors began to turn up as he stared at it.
On the screen lay a young man. The man was worn and heavy bags laid under his sunken and redened eyes. He was a human and by the looks of it it had been a while since before he had gotten any meanigful sleep. The man was currently hanging off of a ledge. Beneath him lay a hungry demon looking monster with three long arms, white fur and a small deformed looking stub of an arm which came out of his stomach.
As the man tried to shimmy his way to the other side of the room the monster, which was about 10 yards beneath him continued to bang on the wall, shaking and rocking it to no end. It was a long and harrowing process but finally the man managed to pull himself over to the other side of the room only for a buzzer to ring which turned his side of the floor into a slide, within seconds he would fall to the body where he would be torn limb from limb and eaten alive.
A fist pounded against the control panel. The thin man then reached into his pocket and pulled open his phone. Logging into his bank account information he noticed that 2 Million zeni had been deducted from his account balance.
The man let out a heavy sigh as he turned around to face his guest "What is it. This had better be good. I lost one of favorite golden boys."
The intruder, a small frail women with large glasses and a clipboard finally spoke up "Umm yes sire. About that" She reached into her clipboard and produced still frames of V3 flying through the air, eventually in pictures it would show him getting smacked by lighting, crashing into the earth and surviving. The last frame was one of him strolling into town with a trope of hooligans by his side.
"Ahh... Yes, he will do. Thank you very much my dear." Smile now crept over the mans face, a wicked smile, as he began to rub his chin. There was the sound of a tapping sound on the floor as he considered his options. "Excellent" He spoke one last time.
************************************************************************************************
V3 strolled through the town and it was much much busier than he had expected, everyone seemed nice to him and by all accounts it seemed like a small strange little town, with its own unique charm. The people were going about their daily lives, chatting amongst each other. Some of which would only be wearing one shoe, some rode pink painted ponies down the street other walked on there hands down the street. As he strolled the streets he could not help but realize that there was no real rhythm or reason as to why any of the building were placed where they were. For starters they had a post office which was colored a bright green and mostly seemed to sell sweets and milk. The Post office was the furthest building from the street, which was also odd. There was one paper boy running down the street passing out sweet rolls for free, no one was taking any, yet most people would tip him whenever he would offer.
After strolling the street for sometime V had enough of it all.
"Alright kids" He said stomping his foot as he stopped walking. "We've been walking for long enough just tell me where he is!"
"It don't work like dat!" One of the blue freckled twins piped up.
"Yea!" Melvin joined in. "We can't just walk you straight over to the fun house without meeting the Mayor, plus Mr. John Martin might try and stop you! and everyone knows he is crazy!" He made a weird oogley eyed motion as he spoke, slowly down his rate of speech to make his point more clear.
"Look, I am not worried about your Mayor or you Johns. What are they the fun house police!"
"YES!!!" the kids all yelled in unison
"Sigh, Alright alright just take me to someone already or you won't be getting no car!" The kids all looked at each other now frantically, not sure what to do. With a quick hand signal Melvin signed off the twins and they began to run up a strange hill in the distance towards an odd looking tower, with a single dark cloud hovering over it.
"Creepy" V spoke as they rushed. Taking one of his massively stout hands Barley, the fat kid on the bike, began to lead V3 as they proceeded down the street again.
