Felaern has the appearance of a typical Konatsian Guardian, if a supremely robust and vibrant one. With a relatively heavy frame for a Konatsian, strong facial features, and smooth amber skincolor Felaern would no doubt be popular with the ladies if it wasn't for his indifferent demeanor that never seems to let a smile or a frown on his face. As a Konatsian Guardian Felaern takes his appearance seriously, always appearing in high-quality clothing that he takes pains to keep immaculate: his battle gear is always in perfect condition, all the better to come off as an impervious wall to the people of Konats. Fel also has fine golden-blonde hair that he keeps well-tended, often in some sort of elaborate braid. The single tattoo that Fel has is a spread of spidery limbs covering the majority of his forehead, although in darkness an inner light appears, glowing with an ominous purple hue.
Of course all of this is basically a lie, something comforting to see for those that Felaern defends. His true appearance is nothing more than a lump of some strange eldritch metal shaped into a humanoid shape, a living golem under the control of a heroic soul.
MOTIVATIONS:
Felaern is dedicated to the advancement and Protection of the Konatsian people, first and foremost. Secondary is amassing his personal power to help fulfill his first goal, and tertiary is preventing any enemies of Konats from gaining enough power to endanger it or its people.
QUIRKS:
Fel remains a mostly taciturn and reserved person, speaking little even in the midst of a battle, and often outright ignoring conversations that are not related to his current goal. His manner of speech is also disjointed and blunt, almost like an archaic Android with only a rudimentary personality matrix. Also Felaern tends to rely on the toughness of his body and armor, and has little instinct to actually try and dodge.
BONDS:
Fel has had most bonds stripped away from him during the experimentation done on him by a cabal of morally suspect Konatsian mages. The Cabal itself is really the only people he currently knows personally, specifically his face to face handler, a female Konatsian by the name of Mousse. As a Guardian he always has the entirety of the Konatsian people as those he would lay his life down to defend.
BACKSTORY:
Felaern Blackmange is the result of a series of experiments carried out by a secretive cabal of Konatsian mages dedicated to ensuring that Konats survived. Through any means necessary. Before that however Felaern was a normal citizen in the Capital City of Konats, born to an artificer couple who supplied magic arms and armor to the Konatsian Guard. He was among six siblings, one older brother, the second his twin sister, and three younger siblings. His connection to the Konatsian Guard would become much stronger than his family maintained, as even as a child he was fascinated in the entire concept of a Guardian. Wielding Holy Blades, defeating Evil-Doers, Protecting the People. It was pure romance for the young Konatsian, but one deeply rooted in Felaern's heart, and as he grew to adulthood he trained and studied diligently, becoming a Konatsian Guard the day he was considered an adult.
There were many adventures to be had and crimes to prevent as a Konatsian Guard, and through dedication and hard work Fel rose in rank and power, becoming the pride of his family and even the entire city, but at this point in his existence Felaern doesn't remember any of that. What he does remember is that when he reached the age of one-hundred sixty-four he was approached by a group of mages he had never seen or heard of before, who asked for him to join them in defending Konats at all costs. While initially saying no, the cabal was persistent in its request, and over the course of the following year continuously came back to speak with him again and again. During this time they showed him the old history of Hirudegarn with its great destruction of the planet, and they showed him the power that offworlder's possessed, of the terror that could be unleashed once more against Konats.
Finally Felaern couldn't ignore the apparent danger to Konats, and agreed to help them in their endeavor to create a special type of soldier capable of fighting on par with the most terrible of enemies. Of course Felaern had no idea of the horrible nature of these experiments, or the fact that he was going to be their prime subject. For night on forty years Felaern was confined to a dusty lab cell, his mind and body molded and shaped by eldritch magics that even the Kashvar would balk at. The final result was something that wasn't even close to Konatsian biology, as Fel had become a mere lump of animate metal and mystical clay. He was a Golem now, an inorganic mass controlled by a living soul through mystical means, and even the majority of his memories were stripped away or perhaps buried by the experiments, his psyche concentrated and magically bolstered.
When finally Felaern was allowed to exit the experiment chamber and walk under Konats' sun once more, he was much changed, for better or worse however remained to be seen...
CALL TO ACTION:
Simply put, the experiments the Cabal had done to him are finished, and he's been released from his isolation to once again take up the mantle of a Konatsian Guardian.
