It wasn’t that his advances triggered her, ---but they had. Freshly opening up to the man, and he elicits such a reaction. She felt troubled, her gaze wandering once more as he explained his knowledge on teleportation. Which was severely lacking. She had assumed that all Shinjin learned the skill, though if that were true..wouldn’t she have been able to learn it over this teleportation spell? The woman always had to work for her power, but the Kais just came out perfect.
“I can go anywhere yes, so long as I’ve been there before...that is. Or at least have an image or feeling of the place. It’s a pretty emotional skill,” the demon explained matter of factly. Her arms folded over her chest in an attempt to cover her very exposed chest. Besides, the chill of night was enough to make her want to swap to a more warm disguise.
“I just figured all the Shinjins were capable of it, But hey… I guess half-breeds aren’t worth teaching.”
Suddenly, she froze. She saw a very clear picture, of a scene totally alien to the demon. It was surely Earth, the landscape was unmistakable. Rolling green hills and lush vegetation painted the scene. There was a tiny house, but kept up regardless. Plenty of food filled the gardens, whoever lived here was truly content. Such a simple life, but lacking in all the universe’s possibilities!
It was serene, and almost hypnotizing. She saw through it all though when he smiled. He was all right, perhaps a bit flustered or embarrassed, but all right. She wondered if she could possibly bring this place to life? Her eyes fell shut as she searched far and wide through the universe. She used his very energy as a guide through the galaxies and stars. Finally she wound up on Earth as he said, but where?
His energy burst to life, aiding her in sniffing out the place like a drug dog. Once she locked on, all they would need is a bit of physical contact before the nauseous journey began.
“Ready?” Kuueru looked up to Raijin with a smile, her hand returned to his shoulder and bam.
The sights and sounds of space and time travel was immense. Thousands of disorganized sounds from thousands of planets passed, all on separate timelines. If one spent too much time in this place, they would easily be driven mad. However, as quickly as it began, it was over. What felt like minutes in the disorienting haze, was an instant transmission of their bodies. Their feet touched the overgrown grass below.
They were here, on Earth. An oxygen rich air stung their lungs. It seemed that she had succeeded in getting them both there in one pieces.
“Got all your fingers and toes?” Kuueru asked seriously for a moment, but her face soon melted into laughter. She rested her hands upon her hips and waved a friendly hand towards the Halfling. Though Lute had sent her there on official business, she was genuinely enjoying the time spent with another, like her.
She had always imagined she would make friends with more evil, or demonic persons. Not really, a literal Shinjin like herself. Her mind whirled with the odds, it had to be astronomically low chance of this happening. But…
Here she was.
The woman gave the area one more good look before taking a few steps back. He was there and safe, at least now he could sleep it off. Unfortunately, it was daytime here on Earth. She hoped he had some curtains in his quaint home.
“I’ll be seein’ ya around. I’m sure. Our next communications will be more, contractual,” she spoke with a serious tone, her brows shifting to express it visually. With that her body was gone, she had quickly returned back to her own quarters. Or, at least the bed in the back of Tranquility that Hachi let her borrow. It was a snug cot, but she had to worry more about the magician coming to lay down with her at night after a night of drunken gambling. The demon had already had to watch her back around allies, she hoped that Raijin would not prove to be like her ‘friends’.
“You’ll do good kid,” Kuueru mumbled while peeling back the blankets of her cot. She had long since hid her demonic guise away under the peach haired facade. She had actually become more comfortable in a disguise than in her natural form. If Raijin came through on his promise, maybe that would change. She could at least hope so, at least.
