A new day rises on the galaxy. Yesterday, on the distant Planet Pepper, refugees from the Galactic Empire numbered in the hundreds of thousands. They waited, with bated breath, knowing that Polaris the Tyrant would not simply allow them to leave. The Imperial Fleet was coming, and they cried out for salvation.
Four people answered that call, and stood against an army.
Somehow, incredibly, impossibly, they won. This victory was not without cost; the combat fleet of the refugees was devastated, and their hero and protector, Gadon, sacrificed himself to give the refugees time and escape. But despite the cost, they won.
And so when the next day came, the HoloNet should have been alight with news of the conflict, with the revelation that this Empire was not invincible, that they could be beaten.
Instead, the top story on the HoloNet was of a Brenchian celebrity planning on running for office on his homeworld.
Days passed, and a small story was filed about a border skirmish with radicals on Planet Pepper. That was all. The HoloNet was being rigorously censored, and anyone attempting to put forward information about the true conflict found their attempts at getting the word out immediately squashed.
It seemed that, at the least, the Empire would maintain it's veneer of invulnerability.
But they could never stop the signal.
Five days after the conflict on Planet Pepper, sound crackled to life over thousands of devices across the Galaxy, from Earth to Vegeta. A bit of static cuts through the air, no matter what might be being listened to, and then a voice begins to speak.
"Hey everybody! This is Four Sirius, your friendly neighborhood disc jockey! What's a disc? Hell if I know, but I'm gonna keep talking anyway! This is your inaugural edition of Radio Free Galaxy, brought to you by yours truly, Four Sirius, bringing you the truth, no matter how bad it hurts.
And man oh man is it gonna hurt the Empire! Some of you are out there, scared, wondering if there's anyone that can stand up to the jackbooted thugs that call themselves the highest law in the galaxy.
Spoiler alert; there is.
The Empire is trying to keep this under wraps, but five days ago, on Planet Pepper, an entire army was defeated by four powerful men and women. Think that Polaris and his boys can't be beat? Think again! Keep your eyes open, people, and don't be fooled. There's salvation out there... you just have to look for it! Any time the Empire tries to keep this nonsense under wraps, your boy, Four Sirius, will hit you with the the truth, so that maybe we can all remember just a bit of hope."
The signal then fades. No amount of searching can detect the frequency it was on; it was like it was never there.
But thousands of people across the galaxy now have a story different than the one told by the Empire...
