PLANET VEGETA, High Orbit
Lord Snow heard the door swish behind him, but didn't move from his position. His tail flicked back and forth as he contemplated his next step. Below, the upper hemisphere of Planet Vegeta loomed, red and swirling with pink clouds.
He was within his private lounge aboard his Arcosian Cruiser, Absolution. The lighting was kept dim and easy on the eyes, only neon strawberry lamps buzzing along the trimmings. Females of various xeno species sat on pillows, their nude forms silhouetted highlighted only by the pinkish hues. Many were in the throes of pleasure, not bothering to stop to greet the visitor.
"Pooka hungry," a childish voice said.
Lord Snow heard his son growl and mutter. "Be quiet Pooka, you disgusting slob. I should have had you wait in the hangar."
Still facing the window, Lord Snow chuckled. "Really Fridga, you should treat Pooka better. Without his loyal protection you would have died. Defeated by a bunch of filthy mongrels."
Fridga dropped to one knee before his father. Pooka spotted a platter with some fruit on it. He elongated his gray arm and mitten-like hand to grab one, but Fridga swatted it away using his tail. A few of the girls got up, taking the tray with them--giggling.
"Pooka sad."
"Feed the boy ," Lord Snow said. "He's grown immensely powerful. If you keep feeding him, he'll get even stronger. That's how those Majin work."
"I will Father. For now I have a request, if you'll hear me."
Lord Snow turned around, towering over his submissive son. He motioned with his hand for Fridga to rise. The youth was a mess to look at, his body reconstructed with a mass of gleaming metal plates and glowing conduits. It made him barely even Frieza Clan anymore, more machine. Sure, Lord Snow had regeneration tanks that could restore his son's body to full. But, having the cybernetics grafted on served two purposes. First, it remained a stern reminder of the mistake, every time Fridga looked in the mirror. Second, it made him stronger than before and less likely to be destroyed by rabble.
"Speak then," Lord Snow said, placing a hand on Fridga's shoulder.
Fridga clenched both fists, jaw clenching a second before he erupted with rage.
"Let me lead the Third Division to Earth! I want to kill them all and reduce their planet to slag, like they did to Sirup!"
"No."
"W-Why?" Fridga whined, his cyber-eye twitching and whirring.
"If Lord Glacio and Lord Frieza could not conquer that planet, do you think you will be able to?"
"I am your son, nothing like that moronic brute Glacio."
"That's not very nice to say about your superior officer. Do you also reckon yourself stronger than Lord Frieza?"
"Of course not. What are we doing then? Why are we here?"
Lord Snow pointed with his thumb behind him, to the peaceful view of Planet Vegeta. "Do you know this planet?"
"No," Fridga replied. "Some backwater planet with nothing but ruins.."
"True," Lord Snow said. "But, this was once the home-world of the Saiyan race."
"New Sadla? I thought it was a jungle world."
"No. This is Vegeta, the same planet that Lord Frieza destroyed."
Fridga took a few awkward steps forward, putting his hands to the glass as he took a good look. Pooka, mimicking him, walked into the glass and pressed his face against it so hard it flattened it. His tongue began to slather back and forth, leaving behind a sticky film of saliva. Lord Snow rested a calm hand on Pooka's shoulder and leaned in close for a whisper.
"Go to the mess hall, eat to your heart's content."
Pooka cheered and ran off, pinging off the automatic door. It tried to open up fast enough for him, but he didn't make it, ending up on his face in the hallway with it closing on him over and over again. Pooka rolled forward and the door finally clicked shut.
"Father, what can this mean?"
"The dragonballs are my best guess. As little as we know about them, and as little as that old Namekian would give us, we know they have magic that defies all logic. This was a field of floating rubble a few cycles ago. Now it's a living breathing planet. Sure, there's no life forms other than sparse plants--but it won't be long."
"We should destroy it then," Fridga said. "Before the Saiyans find out."
Lord Snow shook his head and folded his arms. "No-no. That would be a terrible waste. For now we will leave it be and monitor the situation. I am more interested in the reason its back and what is intended for it."
