The two of them were sitting side by side in the computer lab in the Gete Star. Not for their usual drinks, banter and games, but to test out their ships. Having been overhauled by the Gete Star, their ships were ready to be tested. How do you test ships though, without firing directly at each other? Simply do a full immersion simulation test. Not that they were totally opposed to duking it out with their real ships, but in the end the staff had convinced them not to. With all the experimental equipment on board both ships, it would have been a waste if they exploded before having fired a shot. The helmets were directly connected to their brains and guided by the AI named Petey. Meaning that it was just as realistic as anything else. They would experience nausea, smell the smoke, feel pain, everything. The only difference is that when one of them `died´ they would simply wake up in their chairs. “Okay let´s get this show on the road. Goodluck Sly!” Dain said with a grin before closing the communications window. The two battle cruisers were hovering several thousands of kilometers away from each other, in a pocket of black space -meaning nothing else was there, but their ships- ready to engage each other. With a few quick pushes of the buttons Dain engaged his new Greased Dark Light engines and began steering his ship sideways so his batteries could engage. “Petey, engage the ancient shield batteries, power up the new Zero Point Module, launch the fighters and engage our shields. Oh and sound red alert!” Dain said with a grin, firing the commands in rapid succession -he actually read the manual for once.- before grabbing the firing stick. Just as his ship was turning he pressed a button and released a full salvo of photon torpedo´s towards Sly. The orbs of red anti matter soared through space with speeds nearing the speed of light. The next moment the broadside of his ship was facing Sly´s and he pressed a few more buttons, giving the fighter fleet to engage Sly´s warship at will, poking and prodding it with small lasers, aiming to find and penetrate any weak spots. “Prepare for impact!” Dain bellowed a moment later as he watched Sly´s ship prepare a proper retribution, grabbed his armchairs for better support.

Sly was normally up with the times when it came to technology. His revolvers were still one of the most technological advanced items in the known universe. They were able to take energy put into them from it's user and then spit them out in the form of an energy bullet. But, when it came to being sucked into a world of virtual reality that one wouldn't be able to differentiate from reality was a new level even for him. Once he was in the virtual world, sitting in his captains chair, his eyes looked down to his paw. Slowly he opened and closed his paw. "Feels real," he thought to himself. What came next felt just as real, luckily his ship had some shields engaged. Blasts and explosions could be heard as the hull of his golden cruiser shook with violence. It appeared Dain was not intending on taking the ease in approach when it came to this battle. Sly knew he couldn't take it easy if he wanted a shot at winning. "Alright, let's see what this gete star did for this old bucket of rust." His cruiser could be heard humming as it's energy built up and transferred to the front cannons. The cruiser shook a bit and a few sparks flew through the air as the first salvo of Sly´s return fire hit the broad side of his ship. The shield burned up a bright red where the impact hit and then was dissipated through the systems. “Evasion pattern Alfa, alfa, alfa!” Dain said calmly in the chair of his captains seat. The command sounded lame, but he had never found any real reason for a good command. He merely wanted the crew to start evading the incoming blasts. Surprisingly the ship was not nearly as rigid and frigid as one would expect for a ship that size. With ease it swiveled around it´s own axcel, using the increased power from the ZPM to add additional kick to the rear and side thrusters. A few blasts from the golden rust bucket came awkwardly close, skimming the shields, but most of them vanished in the darkness of space. Almost too late the ship and thus Dain noticed another set of incoming fire from the main guns of Sly. “Let´s try out these point defenses. Open batteries G through M and fire at will.” Dain said calmly and the crew responded directly to his instructions. On the bowels of the ship plates of armor slit open and gun batteries containing hundreds of small muzzles appeared. The projectiles they shot were merely tiny balls of energy and lead, not nearly big enough to reach the other side of space. Yet the quantity of fire was theoretically enough to intercept enemy fire. With a slight satisfying hum the ship began to slightly tremble as all batteries began to fire, pouring roughly twelve thousand rounds a second into space. “Gotcha! Not bad though Sly!” He mumbled to himself as the attacks exploded several kilometers in front of the Atrioch. The explosion blinded him for a moment and the ship rattled a bit as the shock wave washed over them, but they had avoided serious damage. Meanwhile the fighter fleet was still engaging Sly´s ship at close range. So far they had been doing very little damage, but they kept prodding and hoping to find that one unprotected exhaust pipe. Meanwhile on board the Atrioch, Dain had pulled his ship out of the swivel long enough to allow his main guns to fire. There was a small kick back as the ten 680mm batteries fired, throwing a total of 30 shells directly at Sly. “Take that!” Dain mumbled to himself before focusing his attention back to maneuvering, hoping to encircle Sly and get a shot in from above.

His ship shook once more over the powerful blasts that collided against it's metal golden hull. Red lights and loud obnoxious sirens could be seen and heard echoing through the halls throughout his ship. Sly ignored then, he was confident the cruiser would be able to hold its own for a bit longer. "Not too shabby there Dain, but I feel like this old rust bucket has a got a few tricks up the sleeve." Sly's ship didn't have a fancy AI that helped run it. Not because, the Gete Star couldn't equip it with one, but Sly preferred not to have once. He loved Petey and all the tight jams it got Dain and himself out of in the past, but he loved having full control over his old war cruiser. Due to this, anything he did had to be done by hand. Screaming out orders or anything of the sort would do nothing for him. But still, in the heat of it he felt the need to scream like a maniac. "Putting all energy in the front rockets. Sending absorbed energy from Dain/s blast back at him. GIVE EM HELL!" With a couple pulls, twists, and yanks another volley of blasts were sent from his ship and began to race across the open space towards Dain. Dain SincaraBattle Tracker

The battle was now heating up quickly. Dain´s whole ship shuddered under the incoming attacks and the darkness of space lit up by explosions. Both from his figher fleet, exploding ordnance and fire between the two ships. “Warning, shields falling forty percent. They won´t be able to sustain another direct hit.” The calm voice of Petey boomed through the captains chair. It was a useful warning, yet nothing much Dain could do to stop the incoming fire. It was not like he was in his normal flesh and blood form and could do a lot by fighting ability and speed. All he could do was keep firing his point defenses and- suddenly he had an idea! “Petey fire the main frontal weapons and throw us in full reverse!” Dain said quickly as he began pushing several buttons on his keyboard to help. It was impossible for a ship at full speed to come to a speedy halt, but by using the main guns to help, Dain was almost slung from his seat as the ship stopped quickly. To his relief the maneuverer did seem to work, as the remainder of the incoming fire passed in front of them. Such a trick only worked once though, but it did buy him some time. “Yeah it seems like you got some proper upgrades. Now it actually behaves like a warship instead of a royal latrine.” Dain responded quickly to Sly, mixing insult with honest compliments, as he fired up the engines and headed straight towards Sly, his main guns still blazing hot.

Sly didn't have long to get use to the new upgrades to his war cruiser before this battle with Dain. So he could only hope the things he did read from the manual were actually correct. One of the most interesting parts, was the ship's alleged ability to copy techniques from Sly. "Let's see if this actually works." As the attacks came barreling towards his war cruiser from Dain, Sly placed his paw on a portion of screen in front of him. He closed his eyes and focused. Then out of nowehre Sly's ships simply poofed out of existence. All of the blasts from Dain would be forced to simply fly out through the emptiness of space. Once in the clear, his ship would reappear in front of Dain's war cruiser. "Holy shit it worked." He let out a laugh before unleashing a barrage of attacks towards Dain's ship. “HOLY FUCK!” Dain exclaimed loudly as he witnessed Sly´s ship vanish from space. He had heard about the technology, but every report he heard it was at best experimental. To actually see it in action like this… despite being annoyed it was used against him, he could not help but whistle in response. Next he would somehow have to learn how Sly pulled that off. The Gete star did rebuild their ships, but only on specifications and improvements of their old ships. It could not have come up with such an incredible feat all on it´s own… If he would have had the time, Dain might have applauded, but the next moment Sly´s ship reappeared and fired upon his. Alarms began blaring and Dain could not help but clench himself, his buttocks clinging onto the seat for extra grip. Sparks flew through the room as the ship shook and trembled upon the barrage. Even if he managed to avoid and mitigate the damage, his ship was taking a beating and a moment later Peteys voice informed him that the shields were at 5% and falling. He fired up the thrusters and placed his hand around the joystick as he began to guide his ship into an oval shape around sly, embedded in a roll, allowing all guns to fire upon his friend.

Sly was able to maneuver his ship with a surprising amount of grace and speed. With a roll or two of the control stick, the raccoon was able to weave in and out of incoming blasts of energy. Even with this ships new found speed and agility from the Gete Star upgrades, Sly was still unable to remain completely out of harms way. One of the attacks broke through his defenses and violently collided against the war cruiser. Sparks could instantly be seen popping off throughout the cockpit. Alarms would sound and staff could be seen scurrying around in an effort to heal the damage. With a couple of knob spins and lever pulls, Sly was able to divert some power back into the shields. Hopefully enough to buy him some time. A volley of orange blasts of energy was then sent from the muzzles of his war cruisers main guns and sent careening towards the ship of Dain Sincara. If all went well, the blasts would put a real dent in on the defenses of Dain. Dain SincaraBattle Tracker

The Saiya-Jin was simply button mashing now as more and more errors were popping up on his display. Sparks were flying through the helm and smoke was quickly filling up the entire room. Somehow Sly´s last volley had knocked something loose or caused a cascading failure. Even with his super human speed and the help of the AI Petey, he could not keep ahead of the failure. Throughout the ship explosions could be heard and the tremors going through the war cruiser were growing rapidly stronger. Something was tearing away his ship from the inside and no shields seemed to be able to even slow it down. “Captain, we just lost external shields and hull integrity is dropping. Currently eighty nine percent and falling.” The AI said, just as Sly released several more blasts towards Dain. The remaining automated defenses did their best to intercept the attacks, but a few moments later the entire ship rattled and Dain was almost flung from his seat. “Captain we should divert life su- ah never mind…” The AI was still in the busy trying to save the ship, when suddenly all tension broke and the picture of the Atroich floating in space appeared on the screen. Or rather Atrioch´s, as the once proud warship was now in two pieces, floating in space. “Okay I give. Sly you win. I guess I have some work cut out for me.” Dain said with a sigh as he opened the channel to Sly, before pressing the big red button next to him, quickly ending the simulation. Apparently there was a design flaw in the Atrioch. It was why they were running these simulations, but Dain still could not help but feel dissapointed. He had wanted to crush that golden rust bucket Sly was flying, with his own two hands. Post Count: 5 Sly
